Gender impacts leadership and communication, but how/
Leadership consultant Andrew Bryant, explores this with a women and leadership group in Singapore.
At Officevibe, we end our daily standup meetings with an inspirational quote to start the day on a positive note.
Whoever’s turn it is to speak holds a basketball, and the last one to speak has to come up with a quote of the day.
Everyone puts their finger on the ball, and when the quote is said, the ball gets thrown up in the air and we all say “think about it”, as a reminder to really let the hidden meaning of the quote sink in.

Cracking the Code is a presentation that reveals some of the secrets behind why some people get ahead in their careers faster than others and how to apply these secrets to fuel your own success.
The word credibility has several meanings. Alternatively, it means capability of being believed, to command belief or to truthfulness or correctness of what one says.
Little Rock Tech Fest - Change your questions change your worldAllison Pollard
At a critical moment in history the world pivoted because people began to look at things from a different perspective. They stopped asking themselves, “How do we make our product large enough for people to see?” and started asking themselves, “How can I make my product more visible to the public?” When we change our questions we get entirely different outcomes. Questions are powerful tools in the hands of agile teams that can help people discover innovative solutions that have been locked inside waiting to be released into our products! Join Allison for a high-energy workshop that teaches how questions can be used to help a team learn, grow, and break through thought barriers. Learn what makes certain questions provoke more thought than others and how to make your questions more impactful.

Emotional Intelligence and Leadership - Rex ArulRex Arul
Leaders and Managers can either choose to be resonant or dissonant. At their very core, they can either bring the best out of ordinary people or bring the worst out of extraordinary people. Regardless of all the analytics, numbers, graphs, skills, talent, ethic, etc., if a leader or a manager would fail to be intelligent about self and others' emotions, this leader will fail to lead thriving teams. While the presentation is presented under the context of managing a Toastmaster club, as one attendee came up to me and said, "what is being presented here will not only help me in my SCRUM team and workplace, but, in all aspects of my life as well."
What does the new insurance agency sales manager need to learn. This presentation details the changes that need to be addressed. This presentation was given at the ACT/AUGIE meeting in Tampa FL February 2011 by Steve Anderson. Contact Steve at http://www.steveanderson.com

Lecture on Self assessment on Career PlanningJOSE VALDEZ
The lecture was conducted on July 23, 2019 at Candon City High School's Gymnasium. It was part of the Career Guidance Program for Grade 9 to 12 students. The said activity aims to help the students in understanding their selves to be able to come up with a career planning and decision making for their future.
What stops you from going after what you want?
When a project or activity is going to be difficult (or maybe even a little scary) many of us will opt to avoid the challenge and choose instead to remain inside our comfort zones. In fact, our comfort zone gets straight to work rationalizing our decision to delay, avoid or stall. This really requires no effort at all, especially if we believe we may not succeed at the specific activity. But when did we start avoiding potential success like that? When did we start subscribing to doubt? As young children, if we gave up so easily we would never have learned to walk or talk; ride a bike or learn to read, heck even learn to use the potty. So obviously this pattern of hesitancy and doubt is an acquired skill. One that can be altered with a little decisive action.
Who's in charge this week, you or your comfort zone?

Relevance of coaching to the Emerging Leaders Programcoachingforlives
Help Emerging Leaders look at their LIVES:
Look at Passions – What fulfills me?
Identify Gaps – Where Am I now to where I want to be?
View Future – Who am I becoming?
Execute Plans – What do I need to do right now to get there?
Sow Seeds – Who can I help to work in their passion?
Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.
5. “
Every human soul… has the challenge of controlling his or her
thoughts, appetites, speech, temper, and desires.
~James E. Faust, The Power of Self-Mastery
6. Take-Aways of Leading Yourself
What do I want to change in order to improve
leading myself?
Why does that change matter?
How do I do it?
7. Step 1: What Area to Lead Yourself In?
Time management Exercise Academics
Spiritual Language Diet
Relationships
Emotions Work-school-life balance
9. “In its simplest terms, self-mastery is doing those things we should
do and not doing those things we should not do. It requires
strength, willpower, and honesty.
~James E. Faust, The Power of Self-Mastery
12. Step 2: Why does this matter now?
Intrinsic rewards: belonging, curiosity, love, fulfilling
purpose, growth
Extrinsic rewards: awards, recognition, fear of failure,
money, fear of punishment
Both?
13. “Self-mastery is a challenge for every individual. Only we can control
our appetites and passions. Self-mastery cannot be bought by
money or fame. It is the ultimate test of our character. It requires
climbing out of the deep valleys of our lives and scaling our own
Mount Everests.
~James E. Faust, The Power of Self-Mastery
16. Step 3: How do I do it?
Changed internal
dialogue
Read/listen to books
Talk to successful people
Journal
Make a visible chart

Post inspiring
pictures/quotes

17. “
That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that
the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is
increased.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
18. (Mission: No Desserts of 2014-
current)
Avoid candy, cookies, pies, cakes,
cupcakes, ice cream, doughnuts, etc...
I read the books, attended the conferences, listened to podcasts, had discussions, wrote assignments. This is my definition of leader. Great secret --- If you invest in the people around you, they will invest in your leadership.
This conference theme is WE over ME. I believe that in order to be a leader of “we”, I need to first be a leader of “me”. This is because I know that the people I am most likely to follow are the people who are self-masters. I want to show you a video that helps to explain why you have candy in front of you.
In follow-up studies, the researchers found that children who were able to wait longer for the preferred rewards tended to have better life outcomes, as measured by SAT scores,[2] educational attainment,[3] body mass index (BMI),[4] and other life measures.[5] --wikipedia. These children mastered themselves for 15-20 mins to not do something that they perhaps really wanted.
Marshmallow test applies to all of us. Controlling ourselves = mastering ourselves = leading ourselves.
The rest of this presentation is highly focused on you and how to become the best leader of yourself.
Areas of life to improve
Let me tell you a story.
Story. What I did. What was my goal.
Specific: document what I was spending and aggregate info into one spot that was easy to read.
Measureable: Needed to be able to identify monthly totals, averages, medians, etc…
Outcome: created a spreadsheet for my budget. I wanted a spreadsheet (didn’t have good apps back then and I didn’t have a smartphone), something that was mobile.
Specific is what you want to accomplish. Can someone who doesn’t know you understand the goal?
Measurable is how you know what success looks like. Can you track progress?
Areas of life to improve
Story. What I did. What was my goal.
Volleyball story of being last one running on the beach. I was last and breathing heavily. Coached assumed I had asthma. Too short of breath to correct him that I was just out of shape.
Did little running in 2012-2014. Did my first race with friends. Then did Tough Mudder with another friend. But I wasn’t consistently running.
Need a volunteer. All you have to do is ask me the questions on the prompt.
Why did you want to set a goal of running a 5k each month?
Why is that important to you?
Why is that important to you?
Break into partners and do this with your own goal.
