2. Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
An intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is a practice, representation,
expression, knowledge, or skill, as well as the instruments, objects,
artifacts, and cultural spaces that are considered by UNESCO to be part
of a place's cultural heritage. Intangible cultural heritage is considered
by Member States of UNESCO in relation to the tangible World Heritage
focusing on intangible aspects of culture.
In 2009 Lefkara traditional craft of lace-making was inscribed on the
Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. On the list there
are also laces from Croatia (2009) as well as laces from Polish
Koniaków (2017).

4. Lefkaritika= Lefkara lace
Lefkara lace is one of the best examples of folk art in Cyprus. It was an
art in the period 1920-1930, when it was among the finest handcrafts
in the world. It is a combination of stitches and cuts. Making that is
very hard and complicated.

Lefkara is a small village located on the south-eastern slopes of the
Troodos mountains. There are a lot of narrow, quiet roads. The houses
are built from stone with tiled roofs, balconies and flowerpots. Thats
why Lefkara is really nice to sightseeing.

Lefkara is also famous for silverware. In the town there are many
goldsmiths, creating unique handicrafts.

10. Koniaków
In Poland we also have place like that. Koniaków is a small village in
south of our country. Since 1962 there has been a Lace Museum.
Koniaków’s laces are very popular even in other countries.

14. Brussels
Brussels is also famous for laces. Until now there is still an existing
production of Brussels lace made by hand in Belgium. Two types of
laces are still produced the Renaissance lace and the Princess lace
