Viscri is one of the oldest villages in Brasov county, with its origins dating back to the 15th century when the first mention of it appeared. Saxon colonists settled in the area, including Viscri, in the 12th century, establishing new villages with fortified churches at their center. The most notable site in Viscri is its fortified church and chapel from the Romanic period, which also houses a small museum about traditional Saxon village life. Visitors can experience the traditional architecture and peaceful way of life by walking around the village or visiting local workshops to learn more about the Transylvania heritage.
