The document provides an overview of Patreon's company culture, which emphasizes two main missions: funding creators and creating a fulfilling workplace for employees. It outlines seven core behaviors that are valued, including putting creators first, being an energy giver, candid communication, moving fast, continual learning, respecting colleagues' time, and inclusivity/diversity. Specific expectations around meetings, feedback, decision-making, and personal development are also covered. The overall goal of the culture is to support both creators and employees through transparent, efficient collaboration.
This document discusses communication and team building. It provides information on communication skills including verbal, vocal, and visual communication. Effective communication involves understanding messages and two-way communication. Team building requires trust, shared goals, and understanding different roles and strengths of team members. The stages of team development include forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. Working together as a cohesive team can lead to success.
While there are plenty of reasons to ‘be there in person’, having a local team also comes with costs and limitations. Sometimes, the right skills are simply not available in the local community. In other cases, a trusted team member moves away, temporarily or permanently, or changes his or her work hours. It is often a lot easier to continue working with the person remotely, than to take on a significant risk of finding a replacement that will be in the team room, in person, during regular hours. With the right approach, it is possible to have a very successful team, that allows for flexibility over time and distance.
In this talk, we will discuss the issues and solutions for managing a long-distance team, the difficulties of management over the long distance, the technologies and the gadgets that are designed to be helpful, but are not always.
The document discusses strategies for building a hybrid workplace model. It notes that 52% of U.S. workers prefer a mix of working from home and the office. Additionally, 72% of corporate leaders plan to offer a hybrid model. The document provides several strategies for organizations to implement a successful hybrid model, including piloting new collaborative workspace designs, integrating physical and digital tools to bridge remote and in-person employees, and offering a variety of spaces to support different types of individual and group work.
The document discusses remote teams and provides information on their definition, benefits, and challenges. Some key benefits discussed include accommodating different schedules, reducing office space costs, and allowing those in different locations or time zones to work together. Potential drawbacks include set up costs for home offices, loss of in-person interactions, and ensuring accountability. Effective communication tools and establishing trust are identified as important factors for remote team success.

While there are opportunities gained, this reality creates tremendous productivity and leadership challenges.
If you lead a team remotely, or expect that you will in the future, this session will help you be more successful in building your team, developing your people, and creating the results needed by your team. The biggest challenges remote leaders face
How to systematically overcome these challenges
How to take advantage of the opportunities remote teams can offer
Is it possible to keep staff morale and productivity high without spending a fortune? Take a leaf out of someone else's book and see what ideas and perks other companies are offering.
If you're an employee, why not take a look and see what you can petition your boss with at the next staff meeting...

HR professionals aren’t in the limelight as often as superstar CEOs. So when an internal policy document from a web video service was described as “one of the most important documents ever to come out of Silicon Valley” by Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, nobody was more surprised than the company’s own HR team.

Productivity Facts Every Employee Should KnowRobert Half
Tuesday is consistently found to be the most productive day of the week for employees according to multiple surveys of HR managers and executives over several decades. Employees are generally least productive between 4-6pm and the week before a major holiday. Taking vacations can boost productivity as employees tend to be more productive after a vacation when returning well-rested and recharged.
Remote work has its advantages—flexibility, low or no overhead costs, and a greater pipeline of applicants from which to hire. And it has its disadvantages—less interaction, managers worried about how to tell if their employees are staying on task and communication challenges. How can companies maximize the advantages and minimize the disadvantages?

BNI Edu Slot - Inviting visitor online is easyMilin Desai
Visitors add value to BNI chapters in several ways: they connect members to new business opportunities; they may refer business or even become members themselves, helping the chapter grow. Key benefits of inviting online visitors include allowing members to meet potential new clients with no need to leave home. Good visitors to invite are businessmen, leaders looking for opportunities, and trusted suppliers/vendors and contacts. When inviting visitors, ensure there are no conflicts with existing members' businesses and that visitors have an established business and stable internet connection.
Building Your Club Specific Membership Growth Plan_Presentation.pptxRILearn
This document outlines strategies for Rotary clubs to grow their membership. It discusses setting clear membership goals and plans, being active in community service projects, maintaining strong public visibility, and ensuring member engagement. The key to membership growth is having strong leadership focused on these five attributes: leadership, goals and plans, service, public image, and engagement. Clubs that demonstrated growth in the prior year were found to emphasize membership as a priority, set goals, conduct outreach events, and engage members through various activities and formats. Alternate meeting experiences can also attract new members.
Visitors are important for the growth and survival of BNI chapters. Members should focus on inviting visitors who are looking for more business opportunities, not just leads or jobs. Effective ways to find visitors include leveraging one's personal and professional networks through friends, relatives, organizations, neighbors, and social media. When inviting visitors, members should keep the initial ask simple and focus on the potential for generating new business rather than discussing meeting logistics. Follow up is also important to secure the visitor's attendance. Common objections can be addressed by emphasizing the goal of a business referral meeting rather than membership requirements or costs. Success relies on members knowing how to properly invite and dedicating time to invitation efforts.
The Grammarly culture code outlines six core values for employees: ethical behavior by doing the right thing even without oversight, adaptability through embracing change with a positive attitude, grit by focusing and persevering to achieve long-term goals, empathy through treating others how they want to be treated by listening and understanding their perspective, grittiness in doing whatever it takes to get the job done, and being remarkable through always learning and improving with mentorship.
This document discusses the importance of networking and common networking mistakes to avoid. It begins by explaining that we are moving from the Information Age to the Age of Association, where building networks is crucial. It then outlines five common networking mistakes: 1) being a "hunter" focused only on getting deals, 2) verbal diarrhea where one talks only about themselves, 3) being a "Las Vegas dealer" who hands out cards without building rapport, 4) ignoring the Visibility-Credibility-Profitability model of relationship building, and 5) having a "me, me, me" mindset instead of focusing on collaboration. The document emphasizes cultivating relationships over time through active listening and helping others.
