Provide service desk support to all EDI users through managing a team of five IT
specialists in the different EDI Offices in Cairo , Qena, Assuit, and Behira as
necessary to maintain all PCs, WAN and LAN services. Support users working
with Windows XP , Windows Vista and MS-Office 2003/2007.
Training responsibilities:
Provide basic training to EDI users for the best use of IT resources.
Domain administration (MS-Windows 2003server) & Backup process
Manage the regular domain environment administrations process.
Manage and admin the organization e-mail system. (Echange2000)
Set-up and maintain a routine data backup for the critical and business data.
Monitor the backup process to insure the quality of stored data.

Responsibilities Summary:
General responsibilities:
Provide service desk support to all PSU users in the Offices in Cairo & Hurghada
as necessary to maintain all PCs, WAN and LAN services.
Set-up and configure new PCs on the LAN. Provide support for consultants
working in the PSU Offices to access LAN resources and Internet access.
Perform basic hardware problem resolution and repair. Arrange for hardware
repair or replacement as necessary.
Maintain virus protection & virus lists on all LAN PCs & servers.
Training responsibilities:
Provide basic training to PSU users in the use of application software, LAN
access, and Internet access.
Develop and implement a plan to enable PSU staff to resolve basic PC and LAN
related problems to cover periods when the information technology specialist is
absent.
Domain Administration & Backup process:
Managing MS active directory accounts (MS windows 2000 Server).
Set-up logon scripts to map network drives through the file server and to set-up
access to LAN printers for all users.
Set-up and maintain a routine backup schedule for the LAN server and critical
data from individual PCs. Audit the online backup logs for errors, and resolve
backup problems. Maintain current written logs of the actual backups, and
safeguard the backup tapes and other backup media. Test the quality of the
backup on a periodic basic to ensure the quality of the backups. Notify EEPP-
PSU administration personnel of any systematic failure of the backup system,
and recommend solutions for backup problems.
