PERSONAL INFORMATION
Originally employed by Hawkins as a personal assistant to two busy forensic scientists and was
responsible for the production of reports on investigations, communication with clients and travel and
accommodation arrangements. Owing to previous experience with IT equipmentIwas quickly promoted
to IT Manager and then as the company expanded and matured, IT and Business Process Manager.
I am an experienced and capable IT / Project / Business Process Manager. I have supervised various
small teams in both the day-to-dayrunning ofan IT Department,and in projects to enhance the company’s
IT hardware and software infrastructure. I have negotiated contracts with both IT and communications
suppliers,the latter involving the evaluation and selectionofcommunication equipmentand its subsequent
installation.
Following redundancy, I gained employment with Forest Heath District Council & Bury St Edmunds
Borough Council as a Technical DevelopmentOfficer where myprogramming,database and projectskills
were put to good use.

I have good programming skills with a working knowledge of a number of programming languages and
databases.

I have good working knowledgeand experience ofUnion Square's flagshipsoftware package,Workspace.

for Workspace,using Silverlight,Flex (compiles into Flash objects) and HTML, all employing server side
programmes I have written in C# which draw data from an MS SQL database.

Design and implementuser interfaces for Civica Customer ContactPortal (CCP) used within the
Customer Portal ofthe Council website. Administer various servers and sub systems ofCCP,including
Sharepoint,Dynamics,InternetInformation Services (IIS) and SQL Server database. Troubleshoot
problems where theyarise,following error events through various system logs on up to six different
servers (three for testand three for live) to diagnose and correctfaults.
Liaise with Civica when system faults require software updates or bespoke amendments.
Develop, install,integrate,configure and supportthe business applications and database infrastructure
upon which the business relies,within agreed standards. This includes troubleshooting applications and
software for all internal customers.Responsible for all stages ofthe developmentlifecycle from system
analysis through to build,test and support.

infrastructure across all 8 regional offices including the management of the MPLS network, all
backup and antivirus protocols and ensuring maximum uptime for a 24/7 organisation.

number of home workers This improved dramatically the way the company operated, resulting
in a substantial increase in efficiency;
 Programmed a case managementsystem in the form of an intranet enabling a global view of all
cases, contacts and clients. This introduced a new methodology in the way the company
operated;
 Evaluated and supervised the installation of communication equipment;
 Responsible for the security and storage of company exhibits. Enrolment and supervision of
exhibits warehouse person;
 Evaluated and eventually purchased a document management / CRM system (Union Square
Workspace) to replace the intranet based case management system. Project managed the
installation of Workspace and was responsible for programming extra functionality (KPIs,

computer aptitude test. Changed my trade to Clerk RE and joined the document checking team, who
were tasked in ensuring thatall paper records were transferred accuratelyto the new computer systems.
