How WWII Changed The World
Inventions of WWII There was a lot of inventions from WWII that changed the world. One of the
inventions that changed us is helicopters because they help us get around faster and easier. Another
was the Gustav gun it was so large it defined how we can build guns and war machines. The last one is
the Goliath it was a gas powered RC vehicle that destroyed enemy tanks, which helped people get past
the enemy defense. These are some of the things that changed our world. Was the Gustav gun ever
destroyed or found? The Gustav gun was never destroyed or found. Many people thought they found
leftover parts from the Gustav, but the part was never used for the Gustav gun. The reason they
thought it was the Gustav was that there were large muzzles scattered all around. You would think
they would have destroyed they, Gustav because it used 4 railroad tracks to get around and it was 47
meters long or 155 feet. It would probably be easier today to find a 1488 ton gun, but back then you
could even hide it in plain sight. The last time the Gustav was ever used in WWII was ¨outside of
Warsaw in 1944 when some 30 shells were used¨ (Chanter, 2). So the Gustav gun was never found or
destroyed during WWII. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many Goliaths that made it through WWII, they are displayed in museums all over the
world like the ¨United States Army Ordnance Museum.¨ There were over 7,564 Goliaths made during
WWII, they were only about 1 ft tall and 4ft long. They were used to destroy enemy tanks and guard
stations, which helped because it carried 60 kg of explosives. It was hard at first for it to work because
they used a electric motor instead of a gas power motor. They must have to plan ahead to blow up
tanks because it only went 6 mph, so many of them were not destroyed. So if you ever wanted to see
one of the Goliaths go to 1:8 museums around the

Essay on Geographic Technology in Real Estate
Geographic Technology in Real Estate:
A Technology Assessment Report
Introduction
Real estate is defined by the Barron s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms as the land and everything more
or less attached to it. Ownership below to the center of the earth and above to the heavens. This
definition clearly conveys the geographically fixed nature of real estate and the inherent risk
associated with this characteristic that is not found in other financial assets such as stocks and bonds.
It is the identification and quantification of these risks that dominates the real estate decision.

The lender is also concerned with the strength of the particular market where a prospective borrower
is located when underwriting a loan. Markets with declining economic health can lead to a situation
where the borrower is no longer capable of paying the monthly mortgage payment. Under this
scenario, a lender will likely acquire the property through foreclosure and subsequently sell it for an
amount that is hopefully equal to the outstanding loan balance. Should the sale price be less than the
outstanding loan balance due to weakening market fundamentals, the lender again suffers a loss.
The scenarios presented above suggest that commercial lending institutions have a need for GIS as a
risk management tool during the underwriting process as well as after a loan has been originated. An
analysis of ESRI and MapInfo GIS risk management products was conducted as these two vendors
have the most advanced GIS software geared toward the business community. Care has been taken not
to include substantial discussion of each vendor s market analysis software (which is used extensively
in the mortgage underwriting process) in the commercial lending section as this will be the focus of
the site selection component of the paper.
From a pure risk management perspective, MapInfo is more advanced than ESRI. Currently, MapInfo
has three products that focus on the analysis of risk from the perspective of property insurance
providers. Although

Celtic Religious Beliefs
As the Celtic Religion had laities, Celts, who revered the power of the word over the written
document, little could be deciphered about their religious beliefs. However, after assessing the
classical literature of Julius Caesar, Poseidonios and others, and certain archaeological and
iconographic artefacts, it is made evident that the Celtics was an imminent, polytheistic religion which
ran on animalistic beliefs. These beliefs which were filtered through Romans, Greeks and Christians
suggested that the Celts believed in many deities, both gods and goddesses, some of which were
worshipped only in a small, regional vicinity, but others whose veneration had a broader geographic
dispersal. Today, the names over two hundred of these deities have ... Show more content on

Julius Caesar claimed to have seen a few depictions of these deities; sketchily sculpted wooden dolls
or limbs which were found in holy wells and curative springs however, these may have been
misinterpreted as ritual offerings. Furthermore ,the Gods and Goddesses in the Celtic religion were
associated with fertility, healing, hunting, warfare, and fine harvests, whereas others were affiliated
with places such as groves, lakes, mountains and rivers sacred sites in the Celtic religion. The Celtics
also believed that all aspects of the natural world contained spirits, and that interaction was possible
with these spirits. Due to this animalistic belief, the Celts were in reverence of animals as they
portrayed attributes such as fertility and strength which they highly esteemed.
Moreover, the most prominent belief of the Celtic Religion, as revealed in Roman historiography is
their substantiated ritual of human sacrifice. Excavators have found human and animal remains in
wells, and rivers, along with statues relics of body parts, and internal body parts such as lungs and
livers which suggest that these body parts had to be extracted in order to be

Describe And Explain Ethanol Catabolism Pathways In Humans,
Describe and explain ethanol catabolism pathways in humans, the metabolic effects of excessive
alcohol consumption and describe the long term treatment and prognosis of this disease.
Ethanol is a small two carbon molecule, referred to as alcohol (1, 4); it comes from the fermentation
of grains such as cane sugar molasses etc. Fermentation is the process by which a substance such as
carbohydrates for example, sugars are turned into alcohol by the action of microorganisms such as
yeast, that eventually dies as alcohol levels rise during fermentation (1).
Upon consumption and digestion of alcohol, different metabolic pathways are triggered to aid in
elimination. Therefore, after alcohol is swallowed, it is absorbed primarily from the small ... Show

Oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde involves NAD+, an intermediate electron carrier, reduced by two
electrons to form NADH (2). The oxidation of alcohol therefore, involves the generation of a cytosolic
environment, which is extremely reduced in liver; this in turn leaves the cells of the liver cells in a
condition that is highly susceptible to damage from the by products of ethanol metabolism, such as
acetaldehyde and free radicals (2, 4).
The second oxidative pathway involved in metabolising ethanol induced by individuals who
chronically consume alcohol, is the microsomal ethanol oxidising system (MEOS), which involves a
cytochrome P450, to be specific, the CYP2E1 isozyme, which is mainly present in the microsome and
requires the electron carrier NADPH+ instead of NAD+ as for ADH (4). The induction of CYP2E1 by
excessive alcohol consumption plays a vital role in metabolizing ethanol to acetaldehyde at elevated
levels of ethanol concentrations (2, 3, 4). In addition to CYP2E1, inducing ethanol oxidation in the
liver, CYP2E1¬ dependent ethanol oxidation may also occur in other tissues, such as the brain, where
there is low levels of ADH activity. CYP2E1 also produces ROS, which increase the risk of tissue
damage. Induction of the MEOS pathways, which involves CYP2E1, can lead to the production

Physical media is found on the physical layer of the OSI model. Therefore physical media includes
cabling and equipment, wiring and the frequencies defined to transfer data between two points.
Physical media is what physically connects the computers connected on the internet. For this network
two physical media will be used to allow access to the application layers of the system. The coaxial
cables will be used to create a WAN. While a wireless protocol will be used in allowing users to roam
within the network. A LAN will be represented as follows;
Coaxial cable are classified according to it impedance. The one used in this exercise will use the
impedance of 70 ohms with RG 58. This can be used for the discussed high speed internet
requirements discussed above.
The diagram above shows the high level LAN network design that could be implemented. Inter office
connections could be done using Sate 590553175llite Communication or using a single point ISP
provider to do the networking.
Twisted pair will also be used to plug computers to the main internet socket to aid the roaming of the
wireless users.

World Wwar IItwo was one of the greatest and most important events in human history. It would
ultimately decide the world s fate. The world would either be in the hands of evil and perverted
science or it would be in the hands of a free and democratic society. Many men would play huge roles
in how the war would turn out. Men like Joseph Stalin, Franklin Roosevelt, Adolf Hitler, Benito
Mussolini, Charles De Gaulle, and Winston Churchill. Out of all of these men the one that did the

It really shows especially since the Germans surprised the world with there new military strategies.
Many countries would face the wrath of the German war machine by failing to adapt to this new style
of fighting its biggest victims to this was France, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Greece, and Yugoslavia.
But not Great Britain, Great Britain was one of the only countries to adapt to this new style of
fighting. Many say they were the fastest to adapt to the Blitzkrieg. It took the Soviets years whereas
the Brits would adapt even faster. Winston Churchill played a big role in this fast adaption he would
meet many important generals like Montgomery and discuss military strategies and how to change the
tide of the war with these strategies. They were even meeting in a shelter in london while it was being
bombarded just to change the tide of the war. Which also shows Churchill s determination to not give
in to his adversaries.
Churchill s Ability to lead under pressure and not give in to his enemies was a really important quality.
According to Leadership Geeks if Churchill had been like Neville Chamberlain We would have lost
the war due to weak leadership and the lack of assertiveness . Now although many say war could have

Electronic Waste Essay
Electronic waste comes in many different forms such as old computers, old cell phones, broken
household equipment and machinery, and much more. The main categories for electronic waste or e
waste are ICT and telecommunications equipment, office electronics, large and small household
appliances, consumer equipment, leisure equipment, lighting, medical equipment, automatic
dispensers, monitoring and control instruments, and batteries (ayubmacharia.com). From these
different types of e waste, there are many different toxic substances that can escape from them in
numerous different ways. The principal toxic substances that are contained within electronics include
zinc, nickel, lead, barium and chromium (allgreenrecyling.com). When these harmful chemicals are
sitting in landfills, they can be spread by leeching into our groundwater, or being released into our air
when warmed up. Many landfills exist in third world countries, meaning that billions of tonnes of
electronic waste each year are sent to these countries. The toxins contained within the e waste are then
released into the atmosphere, and can even end up in products being sent back to first world countries
to be merchandised. There are many adverse effects of the different toxic substances held within e
waste. Firstly, zinc is a very common substance within our environment, it is present within many
different foodstuffs as well as within drinking water. Zinc is not harmful in small concentration but

The Demand For Cost Containment
The demand for cost containment, the growth of purchaser influence, the decline trend in inpatient
utilization, and the demands of managed care organizations for efficiency, cost containment,
coordination of services, and accountability for service outcomes has changed hospitals strategic
planning. Hospitals need to reconfigure and reorganize their health service delivery in order to meet
the demands of managed care. To make their organization attractive to the managed care industry,
system integration strategies began to emerge such as horizontal and vertical integration (Sultz Young,
2009, p. 103).
Horizontal Integration
System integration is called horizontal when hospitals buy other hospitals to become multihospital
system (Wolper, 2011, p. 78). Horizontal integration provides many benefits to the hospitals: (a)
increased access to capital markets, (b) reduction in duplication of services, (c) economies of scale, (d)
improved productivity and operating efficiencies, (e) access to management expertise, (f) increased
personnel benefits including career mobility, recruitment, and retention, (g) improved patient access
through geographical integration or various level of care, (h) improvement in quality through
increased volume of services for specialized personnel, and (i) increased political power to deal with
planning, regulation , and reimbursement issues (Wolper, 2011, p. 79). The benefit of horizontal

Public vs Private Funding Private Stadiums
INTRODUCTION
The past 20 years have witnessed a massive transformation of professional sports stadiums in North
America and the rest of the world. In the United States and Canada alone, by 2012, 125 of the 140
teams in the five largest professional sports leagues, the National Football League (NFL), Major
League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Soccer (MLS), and
National Hockey League (NHL), will play in stadiums constructed or significantly renovated since

Providing public subsidies for private stadiums is providing corporate welfare plain and simple. Public
subsidies for stadiums go directly into the pockets of team owners and players by increasing profits,
player salaries and raising the re sale value of the team. According to one study, a new stadium
increases team profits by an average of $11 million annually, payroll salaries by $14 million and
increases team book value by $90 million. (Depken, 2003) The billionaire team owners and the player
s profit, but the taxpayer doesn t see a dime.
Politics Involved
The fear of losing a sports team, and the votes of sports fans, have caused local officials to blink time
and time again and to waste public funds to buy the votes of the vocal and organized few, versus the
best interests of the largest portion of their voters.
Thus we can see why public money is eagerly donated. The full costs of a stadium and the damage it
does to communities are often years in the future, long after the politician is known for being the hero
that save our local team and has moved on to bigger and better things, now with the campaign funding
of the very teams that they built homes for and the fans who continue to pay. Team owners can choose
new cities but cities can t choose new teams thanks to the leagues government sanctioned monopolies
over franchise placement, mayors for example, feel they must offer owners anything they want.

Comparing Frankenstein And Grendel s Mother In Beowulf
As seen in Frankenstein, appearance and characteristics are everything when deciding if someone or
something is monster worthy. Grendel s mother in Beowulf is described as a fatherless creature
(1355.) suggesting she is not man made. This suggestion implies she breaks the social norm of this
society. She and her son are often correlated with darkness. Any term that correlates with darkness is
feared by humans because it is a place that we cannot fully see. It is a place where the unknown lurks.
Yet, she looks like a woman (1351.) but because she was not conceived how a normal human being
would be, she is outcasted and looked upon as monster. Grendel s mother characteristics are similar to

exquisite communication skills, such as Satan, it shows how great of a leader he is. While this battle of
good vs. evil is still taking place, Satan is a hero to his angels and will remain one for as long as he

In Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein should be depicted as the real monster for attempting to recreate
God s creation. Instead, it is his creation who has to pay the price for Victor s wrong doings. While his
creation pays the price, he still finds a way to become his own hero as well. It may go unsaid but the
monster has the will to keep on going. Through his life he still finds a way to live. The monster in
Frankenstein talks about himself for a bit and says this I have good dispositions; my life has been
hitherto harmless and in some degree beneficial; but a fatal prejudice clouds their eyes, and where
they ought to see a feeling and kind friend, they behold only a detestable monster (159.) The monster
tries to act right but it seems as if whatever he does his actions are misunderstood. Yet, like a child he
is pure and unaware of his doings. The courageous step he takes is asking Victor Frankenstein to
create him a mate to live his life with. The monster is aware of how fearful his creator is of him but
still approaches him and is not afraid to ask for his request. It was a baby step into a new

The Impact of Near Zero Marginal Cost Approach in the Non Qualified Benefits Insurance Market
From the moment U.S. Corporations started to remove liabilities associated with the existence of
pension plans, the private sector has been in a struggle to find strategies to provide adequate funds for
retirement in compliance with IRS regulations, while being competitive in employee payouts. The
Retirement market is a thriving market that has grown at an average annual rate of 5.6% to total $9.2
trillion over the five years to 2014 (Goddard, 2014), despite its lack of dynamicity due to heavy
regulatory climate. The Benefits market in the U.S. is a complex arena defined largely by income
levels: for those in the upper tiers, earning above $254,188 (Seelig, n.d.) , Non Qualified (NQ)
Benefits and sophisticated financial strategies are the answer: levels of contribution can be high, but at
a high implementation cost. For the ones the lower end, usually under $116,042 (Seelig, n.d.)1,
standard options such as 401(k) and IRAs are a cost effective way to keep their retirement assets
covered. Nonetheless, even these low end, safe harbors are being re evaluated: due to recent economic
crisis, ability of retirees to tap into such funds is making them an unsafe vehicle to fulfill aging
population needs (Siedle, 2013). However, the dilemma comes for the middle market: individuals
whose wealth is not enough to offset the cost of implementing leading edge retirement vehicles, but at

Summary Of Valmiki s Ramayana

Midterm Essay
Valmiki s Ramayana has transcended being simply a folktale, and has manifested itself into an
embodiment of virtues. It has great influence over the expectation of a women in the society; the
status and the ideal itself has been conferred upon them by the Ramayana which depict Sita as the
ideal wife worthy of being emulated by Hindu women. There is a similar, recurring pattern that seems
to unfold for any women depicted in the Ramayana who actively stray beyond this idea model. These
women, particularly Tataka, Shurpanakha and Ahalya, are depicted as creatures that conclude in
paying the heavy consequences set on them by the patriarchy.

Shurpanakha is a demon from Lanka, who speaks with sharp directness, and isn t hesitant to use her
sexual power as a tactic of getting what she wants. Ahalya, though she slightly varies from Tataka and
Shurpanakha, is still undeniably influenced by the forests temptations. In the earliest, full narrative,
when Indra comes disguised as her husband, Ahalya sees through his disguise, but consents owing to
her curiosity . In another interpretation, Ahalya s pride in her beauty compels her to continue, but in
both cases she doesn t deny her impulses and consciously acts on it.
In each of their respective narratives, the three women share a moment where they fall from grace ,
and part from their virtues. In the Ramayana, physical beauty is so intimately correlated to holiness
and godliness. For example, when Rama is being described, there is extraordinary amount of detail
and attention given to the description of his appearance; sentences on sentences just about the
statuesque form of Rama s arms. It is undeniable that physical appearance is a direct mirror of the
character s inner disposition. The women are originally described as having unparalleled beauty. It s
only when they part from what is considered virtuous, do they transform and lose their physical
appeal. In Tataka s case, she was once a beautiful princess whose falling moment was when she chose
to seek out revenge, and allow herself to be engulfed in utter rage. She was

The East Facade Of The Louvre
Perrault still relied a lot antiquity rule to do his reference, even if Perrault mentions that he created the
new taste of architectural element for French. He accepted that Vitruvius theory and order still an
important part of his theory. Perrault mentions that, I also contend that whatever innovations I
introduce are intended not so much to correct what is ancient as to return it to its original perfection. I
do this not on my own authority, following only my own insight, but always in reference to some
example taken from ancient works or from reputable writers. The East Facade of the Louvre is hard to
define its style because of Perrault s theory and Le vau s influence. A historian, Blunt, argues that the
facade shows the Baroque and Classical style at the same time. He wrote, The Colonnade has no exact
parallel in French architecture, but it is the first example in this art of the style of Louis XIV. In certain
respects it is Baroque: the scale of the Order, the depth given by the free standing colonnade, the
variety of rhythm due to the coupling of the columns. In other ways it is more strictly classical than
earlier French work: the clear and simple definition of the masses, the straight line of the front (in
contrast to the curves of most of the Italian designs and even Le Vau s first scheme), the severe and
almost unbroken entablatures, and the purity of detail in the Order and the mouldings.

Case Study On Maggi Noodles
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN OF THE STUDY
INTRODUCTION:
Quick food styles are catching up fast because of more number of working couples, domestic fuel
crisis, non availability of reliable domestic servants and breaking up of joint family system. Neither
time nor patience to prepare the ingredients and wholesome food in the house itself, the high price of
ingredients and ready mix are also a significant factor responsible for the spectacular increase in the
demand for Maggi noodles products.
Nestle India Limited (NIL) introduced the Maggi brand to Indian consumers when it launched Maggi
2 minute noodles , an instant food product in 1982. At that time, Indian consumers were rather
conservative in their food habits, preferring to eat traditional Indian dishes rather than canned or
packaged food. In fact, NIL was trying to create entirely new food category instant noodles in India.
Initially, the company targeted working women on the premise that Maggi noodles were fast to cook
and hence offered convenience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To get to the root of the problem, NIL conducted a research, which revealed that it was children who
liked the taste of Maggi noodles and who were the largest consumers of the product. After this, NIL

NIL s promotions positioned the noodles as a convenience product , for mothers and as a fun product
for children. The noodles tagline, Fast to Cook Good to Eat was also in keeping with this positioning.
NIL aggressively promoted Maggi noodles through several schemes like distributing free samples,
giving gifts on the return of empty packs, etc. NIL s advertising too played a great role in

Choi Soon hwa Luxury brands are actively responding to the latest economic downturn, said to be the
worst since the Great Depression, racking their brains to escape the grips of the falling luxury goods
market. Indeed, the hit to sales has been particularly bad as industrialized nations, traditionally the
main luxury good markets, have suffered greatly. With luxury goods consumers having become more
diversified by region, class and age, and an increasing number of luxury brand companies adopting
professional management structures, luxury brands are approaching their |Figure 1 marketing and

They remain loyal to the brands and products they are accustomed to buying, but reduce the frequency
of their purchases and/or carefully weigh the value of products against prices. Moreover, as a new elite
consumption pattern emerges in which buyers express an interest in participating in societal issues or
causes, those that prefer green luxury environment friendly production and products is growing in
number. Keyword 4 self Comforting Consumption The upper middle class is influenced by the
economic downturn and reduces its spending, carefully considering purchases to avoid overspending.
They tend to seek emotional compensation by buying a totally different item rather than a lower brand
version of past purchases. There is also a trend of accessorization in which people purchase low priced
entry products in the same brand. Keyword 1 discrete Consumption Among absolute consumers, there
is an increasing trend to buy exclusive, ultra expensive brands and products that are not overly
exposed and are way beyond the spending power of most other people. In addition, products and
services, wherein artisans make customized products and engrave customers names, their own names
and the date of production, are becoming increasingly popular. As more mania consumers seek to buy

Symbolism In The Beauty Queen Of Leenane
The Beauty Queen of Leenane, a deep, twisted play by Martin McDonagh, is a symbolic work of art.
The symbols within this play, powerful as they may be, do not jump out at the reader. They are instead
embedded into the simplest objects and the relationship of the main characters. Martin McDonagh
portrays his symbols with such an ironic eloquence; the dark, powerful symbols are inextricably
linked in such a beautiful way, that once the reader makes the connections, the entire aura of the play
changes. From symbols as simple as hot oil and a rocking chair to the mother daughter relationship of
Mag and Maureen, the reader learns more and more about Ireland during its time of troubles. Right off
the bat, the reader is aware that Mag and Maureen s relationship is not a traditional mother daughter
relationship. Any and all forms of love seem to be absent, there is no common ground, and abuse is
evident. It is within this abuse that the first symbol is found hot oil. The stage directions state,
Maureen slowly and deliberately takes her mother s shriveled hand, holds it down on the burning
range, and starts slowly pouring some of the hot oil over it, as Mag screams in pain and terror
(McDonagh 43). The literal use of the symbol of hot oil is highly substantial in identifying the kind of
relationship Mag and Maureen possess, but the symbolic significance behind the hot oil bears a
greater significance. In this play, hot oil is symbolic of the intense, burning tension between mother

The United Kingdom s Spilt And How It Affects Their Gdp
The United Kingdom s Spilt and how it affects their GDP
It is the responsibility of every government to defend its citizens in all matters when it comes to
maintaining the economy. Every economy comes against different challenges including the business
cycles that may stem from the world market. In this essay I will try to explain the actions taken by the
United Kingdoms union government in trying to make sure that the economy profits from all citizens
and reduce the whole load to it. I will consider the recent events of their split from the European
Union.
There are so many countries in the world have been struggling because of a recession in their country
s economies and United Kingdom hasn t been an exception. A recession is a macroeconomic term that
explains one of the two different business cycles that economies face and go through. The business
cycles are characterized by either a thriving trend where there are more business happenings supported
with a rapid economic increase and parts of a recession where there is obstruction of the economic
development. There are many different features and aspects that contribute to economic progress,
which is measured through the gross domestic product. This factor will include reserves, investments
government spending and other factors within either an upsurge or a reduction. A reduction in
spending might lead to a recession while an upsurge in spending could lead to expansion.

Significant Result
Significant Action and Result For a long time, I have lived with fear. It may be cliched to say it, but
my fear of failure has been with me for years. It was what caused my hands to shake during a calculus
test. It was what caused me to cry when I received my rejection notice from Texas A M University the
first time I applied. In a way it has been a defining feature of my academic career, always a shadow in
the back of my mind murmuring the deadly phrase but can you really do it? . That small voice has
been largely responsible for my reluctance to push myself academically, to actually see what I am
capable of. Last semester, my first at Texas A M, I mustered up enough courage to block out that voice
and attempt something I had never done

Fifth Homework
Fifth Homework Use Hewlett Packard s financial statements to answer these questions. They are in a
separate file. 1. Predict revenues in 2015. Revenues fell in 2014 because services sales fell due to key
account runoff in ES (Enterprise Services). Assume that revenues grow by 5% in 2015.
111,454,000,000*(1+5%)=117,026,700,000 2. Do products or services have a larger growth rate of
revenues in 2014? Products revenue growth rate:(73,726,000,000
72,398,000,000)/72,398,000,000=0.018 Services revenue growth rate:(37,327,000,000

What level of accounts receivable would you anticipate for 2015? Calculate the accounts receivable
turnover ratio using the average level of accounts receivable. When you project accounts receivable
assume that it equals revenues divided by the projected accounts receivable turnover ratio. Projected
Accounts receivable equals to projected revenue divided by projected accounts receivable turnover
ratio. The projected turnover ratio stays the same as 2014 and the projected revenue increases in 2015,
so the accounts receivable will increase in 2015. 2014 Accounts receivable turnover ratio:
Revenue/Average accounts receivable=111,454,000,000/(13,832,000,000+15,876,000,000)/2=7.503
2015 Accounts receivable=Projected revenue/Projected Accounts receivable turnover
ratio=117,026,700,000/7.503=15,597,321,000 6. Calculate Hewlett Packard s fixed asset turnover
ratio for 2014. If the same ratio occurs in 2015 does that imply that PPE will increase or decrease in
2015? 2014 Fixed Assets turnover ratio=Revenues/Average Net
PPE=111,454,000,000/(11,340,000,000+11,463,000,000)/2=9.775 It implies that Net PPE will
increase in 2015. Projected Net PPE equals to projected revenue divided by projected fixed assets
turnover ratio. Since the fixed assets turnover ratio has not change and the projected revenue
increases, the net PPE will also increase. 7. Footnote 7 lists Hewlett Packard s depreciation

Nick Carraway Corrupts In The Great Gatsby
Name, etc. . . ? Nick Carraway Hates Phonies F. Scott Fitzgerald s, The Great Gatsby, is a story filled
with love and loss. Love of people, love of things, loss of dreams, loss of innocence, loss of love...
The Great Gatsby can be seen as a romance novel, or a tragedy, or possibly even a coming of age story
for the narrator, Nick Carraway. His position as narrator of this novel shows how Fitzgerald wanted to
keep the mythical and almost surreal nature of Mr. Gatsby. Gatsby has money, a high social ranking,
extravagant parties, and a girl to dream about endlessly, whereas Nick exists almost in the shadows of
Gatsby with no dream at all. Nick watches as Gatsby s life changes and falls apart around him, and
Nick s opinion of him varies and fluctuates at times, but he was also the closest friend Gatsby had ever
had. Nick illustrates loyalty, divergence, and a lack of ambition throughout his telling of the story, but
he is in no way a static character. He is also human, and is flawed, and has kept his morals throughout
life, making him the only character in the story who can really change at all. When Nick moved to
West Egg, he probably did not expect to learn so much in the ... Show more content on

Nick respects Gatsby deeply for his hope, quoted in the book, ...there was something gorgeous about
him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life.... [Gatsby had] an extraordinary gift for hope,
a romantic readiness such as I have never found in any other person and which it is not likely I shall
ever find again (Fitzgerald, 2). However, he eventually learns that optimism is a noble but ineffective
trait when he notices how Gatsby s hope is his fatal flaw. Gatsby takes the blame for Myrtle Wilson s
death to protect Daisy, even though he knows he s already lost her, and that is why he is killed in the
end by Mr.

Exodus And Deuteronomy
Reading about Moses in Exodus and Deuteronomy I realized that Moses was the central character of
the Old Testament and was the main character of the early books of the bible. In the bible he was God
s Chosen one as God chose him to be his specific messenger and/or mediator to carry out certain tasks
ordered by God. My paper will mainly focus on Moses in regards to his behaviors throughout Exodus
and Deuteronomy and the challenges he has faced. I will focus and reflect on his interactions and
personal relationship with God and others throughout the bible. Moses was chosen by God for many
reasons, one reason including that he was very trustworthy not only to God but to his people. He
fought long and hard to obey God and teach the people of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To see the relationship he had with God inspires many to find that same relationship with God in
today s society. The story of Moses is still important and looked upon today because of how much
hope, love, and even justice it demonstrated. Moses and God worked solely together and with that
there was hope, which helped them never give up especially when they tried to free the Israelites from
Pharaoh. After reading about Moses and Deuteronomy in many ways it brought back my faith. It
showed me how important it is to keep my faith and do not lose hope despite all the challenges we
face and it seems easier to just give up. I know that with my faith I can get through it all, I look at
what Moses had to endure and it is nothing compared to what I have faced or gone through. In regards
to the Ten Commandments, we still value them in our lives today. We may not value them the way
they did back in Moses time, but for me I look at them in a way that helps me make certain decisions
in life. In today s society we have used the story of Exodus for many reasons throughout history; it is a
story of freedom as the story of Moses show how difficult to gain back their freedom. We have learned
many lessons from Moses as he was the greatest spiritual leader. We will continue to look upon his
story to help us through certain aspect our

How Did Castro Cause The Cuban Revolution
DRAFT Fidel Castro A Rebel With A Cause
The Cuban Revolution was a massive revolt led by Fidel Castro and powered by people with the
common goal to bring back the peace. The Cuban government was led by the dictator Fulgencio
Batista who took away basic freedoms that damaged society. Fidel Castro wanted to bring back the
peace with a radical mission to overtake a nearby army garrison. With a chaotic attack on Moncada
Barracks, Fidel Castro failed at his coup d etat but did not meet an unsuccessful end. Fidel Castro s
gruesome attempt at claiming control of the Moncada Barracks ultimately backfired on him and
created the spark for the Cuban Revolution.
For years the Cuban government had claimed ultimate control over society which outraged ... Show

Later he surrendered after being promised a fair trial where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. At
his trial he said You may condemn me. History will absolve me (PBS) and left these words ringing in
the ears of history. What is so remarkable about his trial is that he acted as his own attorney and his
speeches were so powerful that he influenced the Cuban Bill of Rights. While being denied access to
physical papers and documents, he used ideas from European and American revolutions as the basis of
his defense. Castro even recalled ideas from Rousseau, Thomas Paine s Rights of Man and the
American Declaration of Independence. Most importantly, he argued how he was fighting for the
people of Cuba, how Batista had created a reign of terror, and that the people should uprise in order to
achieve peace. Fidel Castro was sent to prison for 15 years until Batista would release him on the
terms of general amnesty 2 years later. After his release the people of Cuba would look to him for
leadership against the Cuban dictator Fulgencio

Race Issues from 1877 to Present
Corinne Cowan
Professor Cox
US History
16 December 2011
Race issues from 1877 to present There are five themes that persist throughout American history. The
five themes are mission, manifest destiny, industrialization, imperialism, and race. Racism has been an
issue throughout American history. Only in recent years has the problem been resolved, but even now
there is still some issues. Some private groups are still against some races. Even though slavery was
abolished in 1865 by the thirteenth amendment, it declared that Neither slavery nor involuntary
servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall
exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. [1] ... Show more content on

He delivered the famous I Have a Dream speech in which he expanded American values to include the
vision of a color blind society, and established his reputation as one of the greatest orators in American
history. He was then assassinated on April 4, 1968 in which is now a holiday to where he will always
be remembered for his great deeds in solving equality between the blacks and whites. The Civil Rights
Restoration Act of 1987 prohibited segregation and discrimination in employment and other areas.
The racism issues during this period of time, caused lots of hate and crime. Fortunately during this
period of time, slavery had already been abolished but it took many years to completely have equal
rights for all races. Organizations have formed for anti racist and civil rights activism such as the
NAACP, National Association of the Advancement of Colored People, and other groups as well. Since
America has the right of freedom of speech, groups that are racist are allowed but if they involve any
violence they will be prosecuted for their actions. Throughout the years we have had more African
Americans running for governor, congress, and even President. In 1989 L. Douglas Wilder became the
first black elected governor. Our President now, Barack Obama, is our 44th president and our first
African American to hold the office. This shows that times have definitely changed throughout the
years. To this day we still have groups such as the Ku Klux

Socrates s View Of Justice
But when Socrates was busying himself with ethical questions to the complete neglect of nature as a
whole, and was seeking in them for the universal and directing the mind for the first time to
definitions, Plato, accepting his teaching, came to the conclusion that it applied to something other
than the sensible world: the common definition, he reasoned, could not apply to any of the sensible,
since they were always changing, (Guthrie). Socrates was constantly wrapped up in thought about
how the mind works, and of course, how and why the mind changes. These ideas strengthened many
of the arguments that Socrates makes in Republic books one through seven. Some of these arguments
can be modeled in the question: what is justice? In this question, Socrates plays many mind games
with those around him and gets them to all change their mind about what their view of justice is and
what it truly means. Later on in the books, Socrates describes the perfect city, and exactly how that
relates to the ever changing mind. This is interesting because it is nothing like the current society most
live in, a democracy. Rather, it is based off of a republic form of government using education of those
holding power to signify why they have power. In this world, education is everything. Finally, another
idea in which Socrates, or rather Plato, discusses in Republic is the idea of pedagogy or, more simply
said, education is modern society. Pedagogy is essentially the roots to all other

How Did The Working Class Change Dbq
As the industrial revolution swept through Europe, migration from rural to urban societies occurred.
Although this did create more opportunities at first, it eventually led to poor living conditions due to
an increase in population. Due to the usage of machines rather than hands, unemployment rose, and
guilds were ruined. Due to the increase in population, the food supply decreased. While economic
changes in the nineteenth century increased the amount of workers, the conditions they lived in were
not pleasant. Due to the economic conditions, a series of arguments on how to improve the lives of the
people were argued. Some argued that the only way to fix the economy was through the intervention
of the government while others advocated for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
London Workingmen s Association, in their petition to Parliament for the People s Charter , claimed
that the labouring classes may be silently plundered or suddenly suspended from employment if every
person producing proof of his being 21 years of age shall be entitled to have his name registered as
voter (Document 4). Along with universal suffrage for manhood, Chartism, the first large working
class of Europe also wanted to abolish the property accommodation for the House of Lords, and
wanted a secret ballot. Not only did men want suffrage, but women did as well. Pauline Roland, a
French writer and political activist, wrote in the letter to the editor of the French newspaper that
Woman is entitled to work as is Man (Document 8). As men gained more independence, women rose
up to argue for their rights. Alexandre Millerand, a member of the French national Legislature said in
his speech that we address ourselves only to universal suffrage; out ambition is to bring about through
this means economic and political liberation of all (Document 12). The working class believed that by
attaining suffrage and equality, not only would they be able to live happier lives, but the economy
would change for the better. They believed that it was through this advancement, rather than
revolution, that change would

  • 2. How WWII Changed The World Inventions of WWII There was a lot of inventions from WWII that changed the world. One of the inventions that changed us is helicopters because they help us get around faster and easier. Another was the Gustav gun it was so large it defined how we can build guns and war machines. The last one is the Goliath it was a gas powered RC vehicle that destroyed enemy tanks, which helped people get past the enemy defense. These are some of the things that changed our world. Was the Gustav gun ever destroyed or found? The Gustav gun was never destroyed or found. Many people thought they found leftover parts from the Gustav, but the part was never used for the Gustav gun. The reason they thought it was the Gustav was that there were large muzzles scattered all around. You would think they would have destroyed they, Gustav because it used 4 railroad tracks to get around and it was 47 meters long or 155 feet. It would probably be easier today to find a 1488 ton gun, but back then you could even hide it in plain sight. The last time the Gustav was ever used in WWII was ¨outside of Warsaw in 1944 when some 30 shells were used¨ (Chanter, 2). So the Gustav gun was never found or destroyed during WWII. ... There are many Goliaths that made it through WWII, they are displayed in museums all over the world like the ¨United States Army Ordnance Museum.¨ There were over 7,564 Goliaths made during WWII, they were only about 1 ft tall and 4ft long. They were used to destroy enemy tanks and guard stations, which helped because it carried 60 kg of explosives. It was hard at first for it to work because they used a electric motor instead of a gas power motor. They must have to plan ahead to blow up tanks because it only went 6 mph, so many of them were not destroyed. So if you ever wanted to see one of the Goliaths go to 1:8 museums around the ... Essay on Geographic Technology in Real Estate Geographic Technology in Real Estate: A Technology Assessment Report Introduction Real estate is defined by the Barron s Dictionary of Real Estate Terms as the land and everything more or less attached to it. Ownership below to the center of the earth and above to the heavens. This definition clearly conveys the geographically fixed nature of real estate and the inherent risk associated with this characteristic that is not found in other financial assets such as stocks and bonds. It is the identification and quantification of these risks that dominates the real estate decision. Regardless of whether a large insurance company is determining if it will insure a trophy office property in New York City or Starbucks debating the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lender is also concerned with the strength of the particular market where a prospective borrower is located when underwriting a loan. Markets with declining economic health can lead to a situation where the borrower is no longer capable of paying the monthly mortgage payment. Under this scenario, a lender will likely acquire the property through foreclosure and subsequently sell it for an amount that is hopefully equal to the outstanding loan balance. Should the sale price be less than the outstanding loan balance due to weakening market fundamentals, the lender again suffers a loss. The scenarios presented above suggest that commercial lending institutions have a need for GIS as a risk management tool during the underwriting process as well as after a loan has been originated. An analysis of ESRI and MapInfo GIS risk management products was conducted as these two vendors have the most advanced GIS software geared toward the business community. Care has been taken not to include substantial discussion of each vendor s market analysis software (which is used extensively in the mortgage underwriting process) in the commercial lending section as this will be the focus of the site selection component of the paper. From a pure risk management perspective, MapInfo is more advanced than ESRI. Currently, MapInfo has three products that focus on the analysis of risk from the perspective of property insurance providers. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, after assessing the classical literature of Julius Caesar, Poseidonios and others, and certain archaeological and iconographic artefacts, it is made evident that the Celtics was an imminent, polytheistic religion which ran on animalistic beliefs. These beliefs which were filtered through Romans, Greeks and Christians suggested that the Celts believed in many deities, both gods and goddesses, some of which were worshipped only in a small, regional vicinity, but others whose veneration had a broader geographic dispersal. Today, the names over two hundred of these deities have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Julius Caesar claimed to have seen a few depictions of these deities; sketchily sculpted wooden dolls or limbs which were found in holy wells and curative springs however, these may have been misinterpreted as ritual offerings. The Celtics also believed that all aspects of the natural world contained spirits, and that interaction was possible with these spirits. Due to this animalistic belief, the Celts were in reverence of animals as they portrayed attributes such as fertility and strength which they highly esteemed. Moreover, the most prominent belief of the Celtic Religion, as revealed in Roman historiography is their substantiated ritual of human sacrifice. • 5. Describe And Explain Ethanol Catabolism Pathways In Humans, Describe and explain ethanol catabolism pathways in humans, the metabolic effects of excessive alcohol consumption and describe the long term treatment and prognosis of this disease. Ethanol is a small two carbon molecule, referred to as alcohol (1, 4); it comes from the fermentation of grains such as cane sugar molasses etc. Fermentation is the process by which a substance such as carbohydrates for example, sugars are turned into alcohol by the action of microorganisms such as yeast, that eventually dies as alcohol levels rise during fermentation (1). Upon consumption and digestion of alcohol, different metabolic pathways are triggered to aid in elimination. Therefore, after alcohol is swallowed, it is absorbed primarily from the small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde involves NAD+, an intermediate electron carrier, reduced by two electrons to form NADH (2). The oxidation of alcohol therefore, involves the generation of a cytosolic environment, which is extremely reduced in liver; this in turn leaves the cells of the liver cells in a condition that is highly susceptible to damage from the by products of ethanol metabolism, such as acetaldehyde and free radicals (2, 4). The second oxidative pathway involved in metabolising ethanol induced by individuals who chronically consume alcohol, is the microsomal ethanol oxidising system (MEOS), which involves a cytochrome P450, to be specific, the CYP2E1 isozyme, which is mainly present in the microsome and requires the electron carrier NADPH+ instead of NAD+ as for ADH (4). The induction of CYP2E1 by excessive alcohol consumption plays a vital role in metabolizing ethanol to acetaldehyde at elevated levels of ethanol concentrations (2, 3, 4). In addition to CYP2E1, inducing ethanol oxidation in the liver, CYP2E1¬ dependent ethanol oxidation may also occur in other tissues, such as the brain, where there is low levels of ADH activity. CYP2E1 also produces ROS, which increase the risk of tissue damage. Induction of the MEOS pathways, which involves CYP2E1, can lead to the production ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Demand For Cost Containment The demand for cost containment, the growth of purchaser influence, the decline trend in inpatient utilization, and the demands of managed care organizations for efficiency, cost containment, coordination of services, and accountability for service outcomes has changed hospitals strategic planning. Hospitals need to reconfigure and reorganize their health service delivery in order to meet the demands of managed care. To make their organization attractive to the managed care industry, system integration strategies began to emerge such as horizontal and vertical integration (Sultz Young, 2009, p. 103). Horizontal Integration System integration is called horizontal when hospitals buy other hospitals to become multihospital system (Wolper, 2011, p. 78). Thus we can see why public money is eagerly donated. The full costs of a stadium and the damage it does to communities are often years in the future, long after the politician is known for being the hero that save our local team and has moved on to bigger and better things, now with the campaign funding of the very teams that they built homes for and the fans who continue to pay. • 16. Comparing Frankenstein And Grendel s Mother In Beowulf As seen in Frankenstein, appearance and characteristics are everything when deciding if someone or something is monster worthy. Grendel s mother in Beowulf is described as a fatherless creature (1355.) suggesting she is not man made. This suggestion implies she breaks the social norm of this society. She and her son are often correlated with darkness. Any term that correlates with darkness is feared by humans because it is a place that we cannot fully see. It is a place where the unknown lurks. Yet, she looks like a woman (1351.) but because she was not conceived how a normal human being would be, she is outcasted and looked upon as monster. While this battle of good vs. evil is still taking place, Satan is a hero to his angels and will remain one for as long as he lives. In Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein should be depicted as the real monster for attempting to recreate God s creation. Instead, it is his creation who has to pay the price for Victor s wrong doings. While his creation pays the price, he still finds a way to become his own hero as well. It may go unsaid but the monster has the will to keep on going. Through his life he still finds a way to live. The monster in Frankenstein talks about himself for a bit and says this I have good dispositions; my life has been hitherto harmless and in some degree beneficial; but a fatal prejudice clouds their eyes, and where they ought to see a feeling and kind friend, they behold only a detestable monster (159.) The monster tries to act right but it seems as if whatever he does his actions are misunderstood. Yet, like a child he is pure and unaware of his doings. The Impact of Near Zero Marginal Cost Approach in the Non Qualified Benefits Insurance Market From the moment U.S. Corporations started to remove liabilities associated with the existence of pension plans, the private sector has been in a struggle to find strategies to provide adequate funds for retirement in compliance with IRS regulations, while being competitive in employee payouts. The Retirement market is a thriving market that has grown at an average annual rate of 5.6% to total $9.2 trillion over the five years to 2014 (Goddard, 2014), despite its lack of dynamicity due to heavy regulatory climate. The Benefits market in the U.S. is a complex arena defined largely by income levels: for those in the upper tiers, earning above $254,188 (Seelig, n.d.) , Non Qualified (NQ) Benefits and sophisticated financial strategies are the answer: levels of contribution can be high, but at a high implementation cost. For the ones the lower end, usually under $116,042 (Seelig, n.d.)1, standard options such as 401(k) and IRAs are a cost effective way to keep their retirement assets covered. Nonetheless, even these low end, safe harbors are being re evaluated: due to recent economic crisis, ability of retirees to tap into such funds is making them an unsafe vehicle to fulfill aging population needs (Siedle, 2013). However, the dilemma comes for the middle market: individuals whose wealth is not enough to offset the cost of implementing leading edge retirement vehicles, but at the ... It has great influence over the expectation of a women in the society; the status and the ideal itself has been conferred upon them by the Ramayana which depict Sita as the ideal wife worthy of being emulated by Hindu women. There is a similar, recurring pattern that seems to unfold for any women depicted in the Ramayana who actively stray beyond this idea model. In each of their respective narratives, the three women share a moment where they fall from grace , and part from their virtues. In the Ramayana, physical beauty is so intimately correlated to holiness and godliness. For example, when Rama is being described, there is extraordinary amount of detail and attention given to the description of his appearance; sentences on sentences just about the statuesque form of Rama s arms. It is undeniable that physical appearance is a direct mirror of the character s inner disposition. The women are originally described as having unparalleled beauty. I do this not on my own authority, following only my own insight, but always in reference to some example taken from ancient works or from reputable writers. The East Facade of the Louvre is hard to define its style because of Perrault s theory and Le vau s influence. A historian, Blunt, argues that the facade shows the Baroque and Classical style at the same time. He wrote, The Colonnade has no exact parallel in French architecture, but it is the first example in this art of the style of Louis XIV. In certain respects it is Baroque: the scale of the Order, the depth given by the free standing colonnade, the variety of rhythm due to the coupling of the columns. In other ways it is more strictly classical than earlier French work: the clear and simple definition of the masses, the straight line of the front (in contrast to the curves of most of the Italian designs and even Le Vau s first scheme), the severe and almost unbroken entablatures, and the purity of detail in the Order and the mouldings. Case Study On Maggi Noodles CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN OF THE STUDY INTRODUCTION: Quick food styles are catching up fast because of more number of working couples, domestic fuel crisis, non availability of reliable domestic servants and breaking up of joint family system. Nestle India Limited (NIL) introduced the Maggi brand to Indian consumers when it launched Maggi 2 minute noodles , an instant food product in 1982. At that time, Indian consumers were rather conservative in their food habits, preferring to eat traditional Indian dishes rather than canned or packaged food. The symbols within this play, powerful as they may be, do not jump out at the reader. They are instead embedded into the simplest objects and the relationship of the main characters. Martin McDonagh portrays his symbols with such an ironic eloquence; the dark, powerful symbols are inextricably linked in such a beautiful way, that once the reader makes the connections, the entire aura of the play changes. From symbols as simple as hot oil and a rocking chair to the mother daughter relationship of Mag and Maureen, the reader learns more and more about Ireland during its time of troubles. Right off the bat, the reader is aware that Mag and Maureen s relationship is not a traditional mother daughter relationship. Socrates s View Of Justice But when Socrates was busying himself with ethical questions to the complete neglect of nature as a whole, and was seeking in them for the universal and directing the mind for the first time to definitions, Plato, accepting his teaching, came to the conclusion that it applied to something other than the sensible world: the common definition, he reasoned, could not apply to any of the sensible, since they were always changing, (Guthrie). Socrates was constantly wrapped up in thought about how the mind works, and of course, how and why the mind changes. These ideas strengthened many of the arguments that Socrates makes in Republic books one through seven. Some of these arguments can be modeled in the question: what is justice? In this question, Socrates plays many mind games with those around him and gets them to all change their mind about what their view of justice is and what it truly means. Later on in the books, Socrates describes the perfect city, and exactly how that relates to the ever changing mind. This is interesting because it is nothing like the current society most live in, a democracy. Rather, it is based off of a republic form of government using education of those holding power to signify why they have power. In this world, education is everything.
