My current position is a clinical lead nurse on a surgical/orthopedic floor, we receive a wide
variety of patients with a large concentration of them being post operative knee or hip
replacements. Over the last year and a half our surgeons and anesthesiologists have implemented
the use of continuous peripheral nerve blocks (CPNB), often referred to as pain pump balls,

continuous and received over 170 results. It is rather difficult to find raw data, such as an
individual set of vitals or pain assessment, that has not already been interpreted and put to theory
but, data regarding the pumps themselves were made easily accessible. OnQ states their pumps are
filled with 550 mls of the anesthetic and set to a standard flow rate of 6 mls per hour (Postoperative
pain, 2016). By using this data and determining how many hours the pump will last the patient then

the cell membrane. Diffusion in plant and animal cells is the spontaneous net movement of ions
and molecules from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration, this is also
referred to as moving down a concentration gradient. The movement of molecules and ions during
diffusion is known as passive transport because they move as a result of their own kinetic energy.
Although the kinetic energy is random in its movement due to the concentration gradient there will

distance the molecule needs to travel, temperature, solubility, concentration gradient and the size of

Arango. Arango s research, presented in 2001, at a conference of the American College of
Neuropsychopharmacology had determined that people who were depressed and died by suicide

Dred Scott was a man that grew up in the tough times of slavery. Scott was born around the year
1800 and died in 1858. As a young man and all the way up to his death he tried several times to
gain freedom for his family and himself through the Missouri court system, but failed. Scott then
took his case to a court in Missouri, where he won only to have the final decision revoked by the
Supreme Court ( Dred Scott Biography ). The notorious outcome of Dred Scott v. Sandfordcase
embarked the start of the Civil War in the United Statesagainst the northern states and the southern
states. Dred Scott was born as a slave in the state of Virginia around the year 1800. His owners
for most of his young life were Peter and Elizabeth Taylor Blow. In 1818, the Blow family and
some of their slaves including Scott moved to a cotton plantation in Alabama where they lived
for the next twelve years ( Dred Scott ). In 1830, the Blow family and there slaves relocated to
St. Louis Missouri. The Blow family had given up plantation farmers and decided to open a
hotel called the Jefferson Hotel ( Dred Scott ). In the next two year both Peter and his wife
Elizabeth Blow died and Dred was sold to U.S. Army doctor named John Emerson were he
became his servant ( Dred Scott Biography ). Soon after Scott was sold to Dr. Emerson they both
