Essay about Witchcraft
Beginning in the Middle Ages and through the seventeenth centuries, an infiltration of witchcraft
persevered throughout Europe. The witch craze resulted in the torture and persecution of witches.
More than 100,000 of witches who were tried were centered in the area of southwestern Europe.
The mass hysteria of witches was denounced because of their rejection of God and their pact with
the devil, which resulted in harsh punishments and accusations. One reason for the persecution of
witches was they were thought to be the cause of bad harvests, epidemics, natural disasters, and
personal tragedies. Witches also had a part in the religious aspect of Europe. The witches were
persecuted because of the lack of a main religion, which was... Show more content on

(Document A7). Roger North, brother of Chief Justice Exeter explains that if a judge were to go
against the public opinion, then the townspeople would think he is not religious and would then
possibly be accused. (Document A6) This is an indication that people of all social classes could
be targets. In Europe it can be concluded that many had xenophobia of different people or
prejudices, but they were held mostly against older women. This is because during the
Renaissance people had fears of the supernatural and forces of nature or God, which led to the
beliefs of superstition. Therefore, the future mass hysteria of witches would be denounced based on
the Renaissance views. In the Middle Ages to the 16th century it can be finalized that the elderly,
female, and poor working class were the majority of the accused (Documents D1, 2,3). Statistics
drawn from the contemporary court records conclude that most of the suspected witches were
above the age of 50 and 80% of females were executed for witchcraft. The trials of witches were
centered in southwestern Europe because these bordering areas lacked a strong central authority
and were places of social chaos. W.Fulbecke believed that witches aimed at the destruction of
others through the spread of their own diseases to others, based on their pact with Satan (Document
C1). Kramer and Sprenger were two Dominican monks who held a conspicuous bias towards
women and the elderly (Document

Logistics Case Study Essay
Case 1: Integrated Logistics for DEP/GARD Tom Lippet, sales representative for DuPont
Engineering Polymers (DEP), felt uneasy as he drove to his appointment at GARD (Automotive
Manufacturing (GARD). GARD is one of DEP s biggest customers. In the past, sales deals with
GARD had proceeded smoothly. Oftentimes competitors were not even invited to bid on the GARD
business. Mike O Leary, purchasing agent at GARD, claimed that was because no competitor could
match DEP s product quality. But this contract negotiation was different. Several weeks before the
contract renewal talks began, O Leary had announced his plan to retire in 6 months. GARD

Light banter continued as the three moved down the hallway to a small conference room. Well,
great news, Tom! DEP has the contract again! O Leary paused, then continued, But there s going
to be a slight modification. Instead of the traditional 2 year contract we re only going to offer a
1 year deal. Nothing personal, just that management feels it s only fair to Richard that these last
contracts I negotiate be limited to a year. That way he doesn t get locked into any deals that
might make him look bad! O Leary roared with laughter at his last comment. It is certainly no
reflection on DEP, Richard interjected. It simply gives me a chance to evaluate suppliers in the
coming year without being locked into a long term contract. If my evaluation concurs with what
Mr. O Leary has told me about DEP I see no reason that our successful relationship won t
continue. Entirely understandable, replied Tom as his mind pondered the meaning of Binish s
evaluation. I m confident you ll find DEP s service and product every bit as good as Mike has
told you. Following the meeting O Leary invited Lippet to join him for a cup of coffee in
GARD s lunchroom. Binish excused himself, saying he had other matters to attend to. As they
enjoyed their coffee, O Leary sighed. You ll be seeing some changes coming, Tom. The best I could
do was get you a year. I m not sure I understand. As far as I know GARD s

Ventricular Septal Defect Research Paper
VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECT
Overview
A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a heart defect present at birth in which the heart has a hole in
the wall (septum) between the two lower chambers (the ventricles). The septum develops parts of
muscles and other parts of the membrane. If the septal wall did not develop properly, the child
may be born with an atrial defect or ventricular septal defect. This means that there is a gap in the
septum. This is sometimes called a hole in the heart. . There may be one or more hole. The size and
location of the hole can also vary.
Causes
The causes of ventricular septal defect, similar to other congenital heart diseases are multifactorial
in origin, and they operate during the period of cardiac morphogenesis; they may only engage the
heart, or even other organs and apparatus. The causal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it does not and the child reaches two years of age, it will be very unlikely that the holes in the
heart closing off alone. Most of the small holes do not require any treatment. Drugs can be used to
help with the symptoms that can occur if the hole is bigger. These may include medication to
relieve pressure on the heart and lungs and also to help the heart pump blood properly. The surgery
can be used to close the hole. There are two types of surgery available: Technical Intra cardiac and
trans catheter technique.
The surgical technique that is chosen is dictated by the nature of the side effects associated with the
patient s heart and lungs.
The intra cardiac technique is the most common and is carried out while the patient is under
cardiopulmonary bypass and is an open heart surgery. This is the procedure of choice for the
majority of children and performed by most pediatric surgery centers. The trans catheter approach
is normally more complex and should only be considered in selected patients at pediatric centers
that have expertise in this procedure.

A New World Order For The United States
A New World Order
The 20th century brought with it a plethora of technological advancements that acted as a catalyst
for an important and lasting shift in the United State s perception of its role in the world.
Technological advancement in travel and communication changed the American people s views of
the world, therefore changing the direction of American foreign policy. This shift in foreign policy
would eventually lead the United States into the grips of two horrific wars on the European
continent. However, these wars would provide the necessary environment for the country to
establish itself as the leader of the international system a title it would desperately need tin order to
attempt to create a new, less conflict ridden global order. Though World War Iset the stage for the
United States to assume a global leadership role, which then set the stage for a second world war,
it is not to say that the United States ever wanted anything to do with a European war in the first
place. I argue that the U. S. failures to prevent World War I and World War II was due to a series
of actions and events beginning at the turn of the century (a domino effect) that made it impossible
to avoid joining either war once they began.
Samuel Morse s telegraph revolutionized long distance communication, making it possible for near
instant communication, even across such a vast space like the Atlantic Ocean. Equally important as
the telegraph, advancements in the capabilities of the steam

The Importance Of Paid Family Leave
Pregnancy and early child development is a fundamental aspect of human society, and is pertinent
to the development of a successfully functioning community. The developmental and social
progress of any civilization relies on children, as they will compose the future working population.
Therefore, a mother or father s involvement in the child s development is of extreme importance,
which is why family leavehas been implemented all over the world. Family leave refers to the
period of time granted to the employee to care for their newborn child. As communities evolve
economically, financial stability is necessary, for what is perceived to be socially successful for a
child s development, which is why paid family leave is popular throughout the world s nations.
However, ABC News reports that the U.S. is only one of three countries in the world that don t
offer paid maternityleave (Kim, 2015); the same is true for paternity leave. The United States
government has an interesting track record dealing with family leave, but in order to analyze
what the US government and advocacy groups have done to solve this issue, there first needs to
be an understanding on why this issue is so difficult to resolve. The arguments that support and
oppose paid family leave in the United States are equally valid, therefore causing a stalemate in the
attempted policy making of legislative bodies. Paid family leave is highly supported amongst many
employed parents in the United States, and is

Antibiotic Action Plan
The White House has released a plan with specific actions for the Federal departments and agencies
to help stop the rise of antibiotic resistances in bacteria. Antibiotics are very important for society.
With antibiotics it saves millions of people over the world. Treating bacterial infections and
performing chemotherapy, surgery, dialysis, and organ transplantation will become more difficult
due to these bacteria.
This bacteria causes an estimate of 23000 deaths and 2 millions illness in the United States each
year. Not only do they affect us but, they affect animal health, agriculture and, the economy.
Potentially thousands of lives would be saved with the National Action Plan. with this plan it
suggests that for the next 5 years it will help prevent major breakouts of the bacteria, and create

Culture is the umbrella of many multifaceted parts that come together underneath it. The
definition of culture is noted by Inglis culture comprises the patterns of ideas, values, and beliefs
common to a particular group of people, their characteristic ways of thinking and feeling (5).
Being a part of the minor league hockey community is everyday living; nothing out of the
ordinary for the people that have been a costumed to the experience. It is full of traditions and
rituals that impact everyone involved. Inglis stated at a more concrete level, we can look at how
being part of a social class, an ethnic group, a professional grouping and the other sorts of social

When being at the arena there is a whole new set of traditions and rituals surface from where you
sit, with who you sit with, and to the music played for the warm up. It is all part and parcel of
being part of the hockey community. According to Inglis, The upshot of all this for the
understanding of everyday life is that it is not just the social position of a person that structures
their everyday activities but the cultural conditions they operate too (5). This is an important part of
everyday culture that can be overlooked as it becomes part of your weekend routine. MCGarry,
stated Because sport evokes a variety of discursive and non discursive experiences for those
involved, these experiences need to be understood as experiences that matter anthropologically.
Indeed, seemingly everyday, mundane, yet embodied experiences are often overlooked by
anthropolo gists and they have historically eluded the capabilities of traditional anthro pological
representation (161). We as a fan population spend countless hours together, when there is a new
member of the team it allows for the addition of new traditions pending on the participation of the
new member. As individuals or as a collective group we can follow old traditions and rituals as
well as putting a new spin on it making it our own. In comparison, other sports such as soccer,

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By William Twain

May, 2015
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, considered to be one of America s greatest works of literature
to this date, highlights Huck s relationships with primary and secondary characters that he meets
whilst journeying down the mississippi river. Through Huck s development of these relationships,
his development as an individual is quite evident as novel progresses. So why is it that
relationships are such a great influence to Huck? How have these relationships developed his
character?
To begin, we would have to look at Huck as an individual and how we are introduced to him as
the novel begins. Huckleberry Finn is the protagonist and narrator of Huckleberry Finn. Huck,
born and raised in St. Petersburg, Missouri is around the age of thirteen and the son of the town
drunk. Huck s personality can be defined by his hunger for self development, as he strives to
educate himself unlike his friends. This aspiration of education for a boy like Huck is not normal
to the society he lives in. However,

How Does Charlie Brooker Use The Satire In Black Mirror
Black Mirror is a British television series created by Charlie Brooker about technology that is set
in the near future. Each episode is a stand alone science fiction drama. The show uses dark satire
in which technology creates a dystopia, eerily similar to what could happen in reality. The
common theme in a few of the episodes is how the government influences and controls the people.
Season two, episode two: White Bear. It begins with a woman, named Victoria, who wakes up
with no memory, in a house, alone. She leaves to get help, but finds that all the other people are
hiding in their houses, but when they see her, they come out to silently follow and record her on

People can casually project almost anything they want with minimal consequences. But in this
episode, there were actual consequences. But more people voted after the deaths were linked to
the hashtag. And it came back around at the end. The government had control by spying on the
people with the drones, and that was the reason the technology was compromised. This episode
is successful because it links government spying with social media. It shows how all technology
is interconnected and that there are many outcomes that may lead to unintended consequences.
Black Mirror has been largely successful since it has been out on Netflix. Before, it only aired in
the UK, and had a small following. It is heavily influenced by The Twilight Zone, with self
contained stories that are both science fiction set in a different time, but offer social commentary
to today s problems. Because it hits so close to home, Black Mirror has become very popular,
even years after it first came out. Since every episode is a stand alone, the creators can cover a
wider range of topics without having to stick to the same plot, just the common theme of
technology. So there is an episode for

The Accounting Fraud At Worldcom Essay
From the time of WorldCom s inception there always seemed to be a tradition in management as
if the company was only 100 or so employees. There was a good old boys mentality among the
limited few running the company and if you were outside that circle then were told only what they
wanted you to hear. An unspoken rule among employees was to do what you were told without
questions or risk the consequences. One example of this situation occurred when senior
management member Gene Morse told an employee If you show those damn numbers to the

Now we will discuss a brief history of early atomic battery development.
Henry G. J. Moseley, known for developing the Atomic Number and numerous other contributions
to physics and chemistry, created the first known atomic battery in 1913 with his demonstration of
the beta cell. He experimented with a radioactive isotope of the element radium, and the respective
emissions of beta particles, to form the first atomic battery (source 5). This first crude battery
saw minimal success and effectiveness, and it wasn t until 1954 when the Radio Corporation of
America (RCA) began studying atomic batteries for the use of small radio receivers and hearing
aids that atomic batteries became practical and more potential was realized (source 6). Moving
forward to the 1980 s, inventor Paul Brown developed an atomic battery that was much more
powerful than most thermal batteries out at the time. Brown used the emission of alpha and beta
particles in radioactive materials to create an extremely powerful magnetic field. As discussed
before, these alpha and beta particles contain kinetic energy to help collide atomic particles. The
energy produced from this system was so rapid and immense that controlling the cell was extremely
difficult. This proved to be a towering roadblock for most scientists to continue research for atomic
batteries, until Brown was able to invent an approach to encompass the uncontrollable magnetic
fields. This battery was so powerful

On the website Expat Info Desk, an article titled Living in Mexico: A Guide to Moving to
Mexico as an Expat gives people who are considering moving from their country a gist of what it
is like to live in Mexico. Allegedly, one of the most beneficial factors in moving to Mexico is the
difference in currency, that allows middle class Americans to enjoy a high standard of living
with lower prices for basic necessities such as grocery items (Living in Mexico). The drastic
difference between a US Dollar and a Mexican Peso allow young families to adapt to the lifestyle
in Mexico easily with only a small amount of saved up money. Another factor that families focus
on when moving is what city to settle in and how expensive housing will be in those locations.
Although places like Mexico City are far more expensive than other towns and cities, for the most
part housing in Mexico is relatively cheap, in comparison making moderately sized properties the
same amount as a small clustered property in the United States (Living in Mexico). This alone
becomes specifically beneficial to Americans who never get to enjoy luxury time to themselves,
or work all day throughout the week to live a barely lived life, which could all change by moving
to a new country. Not only is moving to Mexico a stable place to start a new life, but a constant
vacation with all of the easily accessible beaches and tourist attractions to some of the most

The Golden Age Of Chinese Film Industry
During the 1930 s the Chinese Film Industry underwent several improvements in film techniques;
improvements in film quality and the advancements in sound quality, which led to this period being
called the Golden Age of Chinese film. Some very important directors of the time were Sun Yu,
Yonggang Wu and Muzhi Yuan saw the potential to educate the masses through the film
Industry.
This was done by highlighting the problems in society; such as inequality between the genders.
This was done by showcasing the plight and struggles of the lower classes who struggled against
society s Confucian morality and values. The main areas that these directors focus upon in their
films were social issues, class struggles and urbanisation which can be seen in their films,
Daybreak (1933) a film about a traditional rural couple moving to cosmopolitan Shanghai only to
be corrupted by the city. The Goddess (1935) follow the life of a mother forced into prostitution
and her struggle to put her son through education. She suffers abuse from a Boss but also
experiencing the social abuse and stigma attached to her work. Street Angel (1937) which follows a
group of friends who help each other in their dire, poor circumstances and stand up against the
oppression of being exploited by society. Through these three films, these famous leftist directors
educate the nation on the issues of the time.
One of the primary issues these films look at are the social problems of the 1930 s; this can be seen

Single Sex Schools
Are Single Sex Schools the Right Choice? In August of 2015 Katie Hallik was doubting being in
school. She asked her parents if she could be homeschooled but both of her parents worked and
they didn t have time. For the next few days she was trying so hard to get her parents to budge
but nothing worked. She had finally found out about single sex schools. As soon as I read a little
bit about a single sex school, I called my parents states Hallik. She once felt like she had no other
option, but a single sex school made the rest of her school life. We need single sex schools. Kids
are feeling more comfortable without the other sex Studies show that girls and boys are
becoming stronger in the areas they were struggling in because they are more comfortable being
able to raise their hand and try. Girls typically struggle in math and science so the separation is
helping with those struggles. One of the girls has to answer even if they don t know the answer,
so they are more for trial and error kind of method. Nearly three quarters of kids also expressed a
greater desire to learn and participate in discussions in a single sex classroom (Should Girls and
Boys be Taught Separately, 2016) Boys typically struggle in the arts, but with girls not being there,
they don t have to act so manly. Boys and girls react differently to ways being taught. Boys react to

Constantine the Ruler of the Roman Empire
Constantine the ruler of the Roman Empire had been surrounded by many controversies during
his reign (Cameron, 14). He was the son of a great warrior and he defeated Manutius a great ruler
at Milia Bridge. He had gained much respect and admiration among the Romans as a fair ruler. He
emerged as a ruler who supported Christianityand then became popular as a Christian ruler himself.
His reign and victory over the Roman Empireis a significant event in the history of Christian
religion. With the Edict of Milan in 313 Christianity was recognized as a religion, and the
followers were free to practice Christianity without fear. It has been argued that Constantine failed
to treat different religions equally as paganism (Cameron, 57). Constantine also sponsored
churches, promoted Christians to high government ranks, exempted taxes for the clergy. In the
latter days of his rule Constantine had a stricter approach towards Christianity and professed that
there is one God, the Christian God. He rewarded building temples into churches. He played a key
role in framing important church policies namely The Council of Arles, A.D. 314 and The Council
of Nicaea, A.D. 325.
Constantine, however faced much challenges after he legalized Christianity. Christianity had been
divided into different churches and their views. Constantine is also responsible for the creation of a
universal church. Constantine presided over the First Ecumenical Council held at Nicaea to resolve
the Arian Controversy.

Papua New Guinea
People in Papua New Guinea used stone tools in 1960 while in America we were able to shop for

Why I Went To The Woods In Walden

thinking and she is brought back to her days at Sweet Home, seeing the beautiful trees that
surrounded the plantation. However, those were not nice moments to be reminded of as the
particular trees she remembers are the trees that hung her fellow companions on the plantation.
The story frames it as, Boys hanging from the most beautiful sycamores in the world. It shamed
her remembering the wonderful soughing trees rather than the boys (pg. 7). Thus, right off the
bat, Sethe has a clear relationship with nature but it is so two faced that it could be something
seen as a beautiful sight or a shocking reminder. Along with that, overall she has very bad
experiences at Sweet Home when it came to having her milk stolen and just being a slave in
general. But she is not able to control when those thoughts come to her as, her brain was
devious, (pg. 6), so any sight of a tree could provide her with a sudden wave of depression, much
different from what it would provide for the others. The inbetween of the positive and negative
association with trees and nature would come in the moment that Sethe is running away from
Sweet Home, going through the woods. Although that moment brought her freedom and a new

Similarities Between George Orwell And Animal Farm
Animal Farm is a novel written by English writer George Orwell (1903 1950). The book is about
animals rising and taking over a farm after years of being abused by the human owners. However,
the book has many parallels The Russian Revolution, such as the Animals need to take over the
farm and exile Mr Jones, how Snowball is exiled from animal farm and how Napoleon becomes
just like the very thing the animals sought to exile from their farm.
The overtaking of Manor Farm represents many events that took place during The Russian
Revolution. Firstly, Old Majors speech about how life is miserable and how all animals are equal
draws many parallels with Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto, a book about the basics of
communism. Karl Marx, just like old Major was considered the Father of Communism, just like
how Old Major was Considered the Father of Animalism. Furthermore, Mr Jones, the owner of
the farm, is very similar the current ruler at the time, Tsar Nicholas II. Mr Jones, just like
Nicholas II, was very unpopular amongst his people. He did not really want to rule and did not
care for the people whom he led. Eventually, both leaders were exiled by the people. Overall,
through the many similarities between the rulers of pre rebellion Russia and Manor Farm, and the
parallels between Karl Marx and Old Major, it is difficult to miss the similarities between Animal
Farm and Stalinist Russia.
The two battles that take place during Animal Farm represent The Russian Civil War and World

Battleship Potomkin Essay
Revolutionary Politics in Sergei Eisenstein s Battleship Potemkin
In 1925 Soviet filmmaker Sergei M. Eisenstein s revolutionary propaganda film Bronenosets
Potyomkin was released, commonly known in the West as Battleship Potemkin. The film is based
upon historical events, namely the mutiny on the signature naval ship that was part of the Russian
revolution in 1905. However, Eisenstein did take liberties with history, since no massacre ever
took place on the Steps of Odessa . The film was voted to be the greatest film of all time at the
World s Fair in 1958 in Brussels, Belgium: Even at the height of the Cold War, spectators would
still be captured by its recreation of a spontaneous mutiny on one of the czar s naval vessels
(Dickstein 91). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is in this sequence that the viewer is confronted with powerful images, Eisenstein cuts
between the panicked faces of the helpless citizens and then to the nameless soldiers marching of
the steps with their weapons: The collision of independent shots shots even opposite to one another:
the dramatic principle (Eisenstein 49). This juxtaposition constitutes as a contradictory argument
for the citizens against the dictatorship of the tsarist rule in the Soviet Union. Originally, filmmaker
Eisenstein directed Battleship Potemkin as a revolutionary propaganda film, however he also
wanted to test his theories about Soviet Montage. In Battleship Potemkin and Beyond it is
Dickstein who says; Eisenstein [...] believed that film, as a revolutionary medium, could forward
political revolution [...], for its techniques could incite popular feeling and bring it to a high pitch
(91).Nonetheless, Eisenstein s technique, quite similar to Kuleshov s theory known as the
Kuleshov effect , brought the power of montage to a higher level, consequently making it a
efficacious tool for propaganda. Due to its immanent drama filmmakers will naturally be enticed by
politics, but possibly also because the stakes

An Example Of Western Culture In The Baroque Period In Italy
A perfect example of western art that depicts the drama and theatre during the periodization of 17th
century Italian Baroque, is the piece titled Susanna and the Elders by Artemisia Gentileschi. In this
painting, there is a woman taking a bath, however, behind her are two men who appear to be
causing trouble. The biblical story has it that while Susanna was bathing, two judges cornered her
offered her a bargain. The malicious men said that either she was to sleep with them, or they would
tell the people that she had been seen with another man as a threat. Rather than being stoned,
Susanna was preserved and the two men were punished for their actions. The Baroqueperiod in Italy
had many key historical events and heavily influenced the visual culture. Italian culture during the
Baroque period was significant because it had many key kinds of art, monuments and other
visuals that represented this time period. During the 17th century, the Baroque consisted of a
strong annunciation surrounding drama, theatre, and reformation. Figures were often displayed
as if they were at a performance. Each painting was detailed and depicted a dramatic scene that
told an elaborate story. It was common for a woman to be portrayed naked and freely as this was
something that occurred often. This era also included an abundance of lights and darks that were
juxtaposed to evoke feelings from the audience. Non western art was equally as exceptional as
each countries art had a significant way of incorporating their culture into each piece. Li K an s
14th century ink on paper painting titled Bamboo displays the beauty within a single form of art,
ink. Although simplistic, the ink has been manipulated into fine lines that show the foliage of the
leaves on the background. This intricate calligraphy work enhances the piece and allows the
artwork to reflect peace and delicacy. Unlike work from the 17th century Italian Baroque, the
Chinese culture does not depict naked women but rather aims towards the ideals of nature.
In China, the artwork was important as it enhanced the key events that were occurring during this
time period in Chinese culture. As control was being taken from the Ming emperors due to the
government growing corrupt,

Shooting An Elephant By George Orwell Essay
Picture this, you are a police officer in the town of Moulmein, located in Lower Burma. There is
no doubt that you are the most hated person in the town. Not a single person in that town likes
you, not even the town s priests. You are constantly harassed and occasionally tripped by the
civilians. You have seen many brutal things such as: prisoners in unsanitary cages, the faces of
long term convicts and lastly, and the scarred buttocks of men who have been beaten by bamboos.
You feel very guilty; you know that your morals do not agree with the job. This is something
George Orwelldealt with at a young age.
It was a typical day on the job for George Orwell just sitting in the sub inspector at the police
station, when suddenly he received a call. It was the other side of the town calling the station to
inform the police that an elephant was on the loose. He quite honestly did not know what to do,
but he was curious what was happening so off he went. He got on a pony and grabbed a gun that
was obviously incapable of taking down the elephant. While on his way to the elephant scene, he
heard about the destruction the elephant caused: destroying a bamboo hut, killing a cow and
destroying a van. As he kept heading in that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did not like the rules and morals behind his job. I strongly believe that if Orwell would not
have shot the elephant, he would have quit his job right after and been much happier. He was
miserable with his job before the incident, he knew it himself, he was living his life as a lie. After
he shot that elephant, the lie he was living continued. At what point in his job should he have said
enough is enough? This is something that is still happening in today s world: people are in the
wrong jobs. Orwell should have never taken the job of being a police officer, it was not the best fit
for him. He should have known exactly what would have been required of him before taking the

How Vacation Is A Vacation

11 May 2015
Come Sail Away Vacation is a time that most people, both young and old, look forward to with
great expectation. Much thought and consideration are usually given regarding the details and
planning of a vacation. Finding a great location with activities and dining options for all can be
challenging. Our family struggled with this dilemma for many years, until we went on a cruise
vacation. There, we found the vacation of our dreams. We had a solid week that we did not have
to drive anywhere, cook, wash dishes, clean anything, or even make the bed. Because one can travel
in luxurious accommodations to exotic ports of call, enjoy fine cuisine, service and entertainment
for an economical price, cruising is the best vacation one can take.
Cruise ships leave daily from locations all over the world and sail to many wonderful ports of
call. One can go to the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, or even take a cruise
to nowhere to name just a few. Depending on the length of the cruise, the ship stops at particular
locations and stays in port all day. One can enjoy the best excursion each port has to offer during
the day, then return back on board that evening to cruise away to the next day s location. The only
responsibility one has is getting back to the ship on time.
Cruises can be as expensive or as economical as one desires them to be. It really just depends on the

Risk Assessment And Mitigation Plan
Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan: Initial Draft The purpose of a risk assessment plan, and
especially this one in particular, is to analyze the threats or dangers to the Defense Logistics
Information Service, which is the largest logistics combat support agency for the Department of
Defense. A proper riskassessment plan is vital to protect both the information we store for the
military, as well as the troops and civilians that would be in danger should this data be
compromised. Assets at risk include our own personnel as well as troops both deployed and in
reserve, physical equipment, and the data we create and store on a consistent basis. The boundaries
for the plan will set the borders for what the risk assessmentwill cover. For example, this risk
assessment will not cover how to mitigate the threats to our organization. It will only assess the
assets at risk, and the threat to those assets. Risk mitigation and management will be covered in a
different section. There are different approaches that can be taken when assessing risk. We can use
quantitative methods, which deal in exact dollar amounts and figures. Quantitative methods are
more concrete, but take longer to assess due to all the factors involved. This method would be
more accurate at determining losses for our company which deals in information. You also have
qualitative methods, which are more subjective and deal with assigning ratings. For example, you

Book: The Feiner Points of Leadership by Michael Feiner
The Feiner Points of Leadership is one of the interesting and application oriented books I have
read. I would recommend the book to my friends and colleagues who aspire to be a good leader.
This book should be read by all the leaders and managers to be successful. It exemplifies some of
the important skills manager or leader should practice at the same time it explains the mistakes
one should avoid being a successful and effective leader. Michael Feiner s experience in PepsiCo,
given examples and instances in his tenure makes it easier to understand the facts in detail. These
examples also helps retain all the points and laws explained in the book.

He was a good manager but not a leader as he was exceptional planner and controller but was
unable to have a good relationship with the team members. All of us never felt motivated by him to

The book also states the fact that to become successful in the organization, one should have
management and leadership skills in balance. As the imbalance between these two can be harmful
for the person and for the organization he is working for. Book has also given the way you can
analyze your own skills and if you are leader or manager which can be very helpful for anyone to
examine by their own. In part two, Author sheds light on relational leadership. Relational
leadership applies to everyone irrespective of gender, race or seniority. Leadership is always
considered as power and authority but in day to day life, leadership is not about power and
authority but it is about taking people with you, motivate them, show confidence in them and
show that you believe in their capability. People work better if they are motivated. In my career I

Child Abusers And Children And Adults All Over The World
Child abusers coexist with children and adults all over the world, but this does not necessarily
have to be public knowledge. People in support of child abusers having public records often feel
their children are safer with this knowledge, allowing them to determine where to live and raise
their children. Others argue these public records are a violation of rights dictated within the
Constitution and abusers should be allowed to maintain their privacy regardless of their crime.
Both sides advocate for the rights of either the abuser or the child to ensure protection. According to
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, sexual abuseinvolving children is defined as,
any completed or attempted (noncompleted) sexual act, sexual contact with, or exploitation (i.e.
noncontact sexual interaction) of a child with a caregiver (Murray, Nguyen, and Cohen, 322).
Although varying opinions exist about the functioning definition of child sexual abuse, the debate
over the controversy of child abuser s identities is typically discussed based on this definition. This
ongoing debate revolves around the question as to whether or not the public should know the
identities of those convicted of child sexual abuse and how much information should be made
public based on the individual offender s case. Currently, a child sexual abuser s personal
information such as, the offender s name, address, offense, place of employment or schooling, and

RUGER AIR MAGNUM COMBO AIR RIFLE REVIEW
The Ruger Air Magnum Combo is a break barrel, spring piston air rifle which gives hard hitting

features of the rifle are the adjustable two stage trigger and the automatic safety.

People who bought the rifle said that it is powerful and good to use for hunting small game. The
adjustable trigger and automatic safety are some of the features that they liked. The air rifle has
very good knockdown capability especially if you use heavy pellets.
There are some negative comments about the product. Since the Ruger Air Magnum is a spring
piston air rifle, it does recoil. This can affect the accuracy when shooting. It also causes some
discomfort; fortunately, it has a rubber recoil pad to minimize that. A number of people expressed
their dissatisfaction with the telescopic sight that comes with the rifle. The 4x32 scope did not
function very well and sighting in can be difficult.
Another issue is the loud sound produced when shooting. This is due to the high velocity (up to
1400 fps). This can be a concern if you live in a highly populated neighbourhood. In some
instances, it may also be hard to cock the rifle and you need to put some effort into it.
Overall, the Ruger Air Magnum Combo air rifle is a good product that delivers a lot of power and

We all know the story about Little Red Riding Hood. She went to her grandma s house and got

She was just getting out of church and walking home, but on her way, a bluebird approached her

I don t believe you, Little Red screamed as she pulled out her gun.
Just then, fox leaped out of his hiding spot and attacked Red from behind. Fox and I fled the house.
Later that night when grandma got home, she saw that Little Red Riding Hood was hurt. Grandma

1 And 2 Corinthians Freedom
The greatness of Jesus death on the cross and his resurrection is freedom from the law, freedom
from the consequences of sin and freedom to live a new life. In essence, one s salvation is no
longer based on their ability to fulfill the law, but instead placing faith in Christ and his fulfillment
through the cross. Yet, there is great tension in Christ s gift of freedom. Are there behaviors or
actions that can diminish Christ s work in one s life and are Christians free to do anything they
want because they have been forgiven? Certainly these questions have been answered through Paul
s letters to the church in Corinth. The books of 1 2 Corinthians are addressed to people who have
come out of a pagan lifestyle and accepted Christ as their Savior. Yet at the same time, they
struggle to leave their old way of life behind. What is more, they claim to have knowledge that
allows them live however they want; and yet, Paul confronts their claim as foolishness and
complete missing of why Jesus died and rose again. This point comes to a head within 1
Corinthians chapter eight; in which, Paul s purpose of this chapter is to correct the church s

Tube Feeding Ethical Dilemmas
Hydration and food is a fundamental staple in our everyday lives that we sometimes take for

die? It is devastating to families when a tragedy occurs and their loved one can no longer sustain
what was once a simple bodily function, such as eating or drinking. Now, the decision must be
made to either keep them alive via feeding tube, or allow them to pass on. This topic continues to

Physicians take the Hippocratic Oath, which means they respect life and will do all they can to
help save a life (Rae, 2010, p. 212). The Hippocratic Oath prohibits doctors from killing or

patient s wishes, whether they agree with them or not. What is important is that the patient is

Students across America with special needs have been integrated into classrooms with populations
of general education students. This integration of students with special needs and students in
general education is called inclusion. Inclusion is no longer an option for schools to choose or not
choose. Federal law now requires the inclusion of all students with special needs if that placement is
the least restrictive environment.
Public Law 94 142, which states that education will be provided to all handicapped children, was
enacted to prevent discrimination that was considered wide spread (Elliott et McKenney, 1998). An
amendment to this act in 1990, titled Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), stated that
the education of that person would include all academic areas, as well as the vocational and
technical areas of education (Cronis Ellis, 2000). Many high school instructors believe that the
process of including students with special needs into general education classes demonstrates
reverse discrimination for general education students. Some feel that there is a failure to meet the
needs of either regular or special education students (Winzer, 1998, p. 2). Because inclusion causes
a change in how educators teach and students learn, it becomes important to analyze the effects of
inclusion on the general education students to best serve both populations.
Teachers struggle with the concept of inclusion for a variety of reasons. Some feel that the students

Doppler Shift
Even today, signs of the Big Bang are present throughout the universe. One example that scientists
use is the Doppler shift. This shows us that as objects get farther away they emit a red light and as
they get closer the emit blue. The Doppler shift is used on the galaxies around us; showing that
these galaxies are emitting a red light. This means that the universeis expanding, and by looking at
this expansion in reverse we are able to see the universe getting smaller and smaller back to the
beginning, that 14 billion years ago when the big bangoccurred. In the beginning, there was only
silence and darkness. In the immense of the silence, an explosion occurred, known as the big bang.
This explosion was the first big step into the creation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This pull was only possible because some of the groups of gaseous fog were less dense. This slight
difference caused a greater pull on the denser gases pulling them together and clumping them
(thankyou imperfections). Where these gases began to clumps is where the first stars began to
form. When these clumps of hydrogen heated the universe to 10 million degrees, nuclear fusion
began forming another element, helium. With helium came the stars. These stars where quite large
much more so than our yellow sun and shown a deep blue. The process that made these stars shine
creates oxygen and carbon. Once oxygen and carbon form, heavier elements form going deeper
and deeper into the suns core. The heavier the element the closer to the center of the star it is until
iron forms. When iron forms the star stopes creating new elements, because Iron will not fuse with
anything. Once iron forms, the star becomes too heavy and too hot, to stay stable, so it begins to
collapse and explodes into a supernova. Once the supernova occurs iron atoms fly out into space
creating heavier elements gold, platinum, and lead. All of these elements create the world around

Doctor Faustus
I. The play Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlow was first published in Manchester by
Manchester Publishing in 1588, no information about the play s first production date was found.
II. Doctor Faustus is contrived of the following: Faustus, a man well learned in medicine and other
knowledge s known to man is dissatisfied with where his life is heading so he calls upon the Lucifer
and His accomplice, Mephistophilis, to teach him the ways of magic. They agree to be his tutors
only if Faustus will sell his soul to Lucifer and be His after 20 years. Faustus agrees and goes
through trying times where he is unsure of his decision and considers repenting but then is
persuaded again and again that the magic powers of the Devil are far more ... Show more content on

Mephistophilis is very aware about what is going on around him; he does not miss a detail. That is
why he knows how to manipulate people, especially Faustus, into giving him what he wants.
IV. The language of this play is in literary prose. Since it was written well before 1830 colloquial
prose is automatically ruled out. The dialogue in this play is more the thoughts of the characters
instead of their actual words. For example Faustus says, Faustus, begin thine incantations, And try
if devils will obey thy hest, Seeing thou hast pray d and sacrific d to them. (1.29) Here is alone on
stage talking to himself. Normally people when alone do not talk to themselves, but Marlow uses
that time to tell us what Faustus is doing, it keeps us informed. These words seem to be less natural
because they sound like Faustus thoughts instead of his actual dialogue. An example of stage
direction with in the dialogue is when Mephistophilis says, Faustus, thou shalt: then kneel down
presently, Whilst on thy head I lay my hand, And charm thee with this magic wand. (1.120)
V. As stated before, most of the stage directions are written within the dialogue of the script. The
few stage directions in parentheticals are only the entrances, exits, and exeunts: Damn d be his
soul for ever for this deed! [Exeunt all except FAUSTUS and MEPHISTOPHILIS (1.135)

Antisocial Personality Disorder ( Adhd )
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Kevin Adams
Medgar Ever College Antisocial Personality Disorder is often wrongly called sociopathy or
psychopathy although both sociopathy and psychopathy are not recognized professional labels
for the diagnosis. Antisocial may not be the best way to describe the disorder because it implies
shyness and people who suffer from the disorder tend to be more outgoing, charming and
pragmatic. The term came about because the disorder is anti society. It s behavior that s directed
against society. (Black, 2013) To my surprise ASPD is actually quite common, being as common
as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder [ADHD], obsessive compulsive disorder [OCD], and
panic; and it may be even more common when taking into account those who don t report or those
who deny their symptoms. ASPD is diagnosed using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorder, 5th edition [DSM 5]. Antisocial Personality Disorder[ASPD] is characterized by
a lack of sensitivity, aggression hostility, deceitfulness, manipulative behavior, impulsiveness,
imprudence, narcissism, and irresponsibility. According to Donald W. Black, M.D., ASPD is a
recurrent and serial pattern of misbehavior that involves all significant facets of life and is marked
by violation of social norms and regulations that occur over time, ranging from repeated lies and
petty theft to violence and even murder, in the most serious cases. (2013). According to the DSM 5,
ASPD has four

Grizzly Bear Lodge Mini Case
Grizzly Bear Lodge Mini Case
Located outside of the beautiful Yellowstone Park is the Grizzly Bear Lodge. Owned by Diane
and Rudy Conrad, Grizzly Bear Lodge has 15 rooms that can accommodate up 40 guests with
some rooms specially setup for families. It is a seasonal company, which operates from April to
November and the busy tourist season starting in May and ending in September. An opportunity
has surfaced which will allow Diane and Rudy the ability to expand by purchasing the property
next door. The purpose of this paper is to show how now and in the future Grizzly Bear Lodge can
ensure guest satisfaction, what budget considerations can be taken for the expansion and how
market controls can implement their expansion. Using the bureaucratic control approaches is
beneficial for the Grizzly Bear Lodge. These approaches will outline problems Grizzly Bear
Lodge face if Diane and Rudy expand and purchase the next door property. Allowing Diane and
Rudy the ability to consider the pros and cons of the expansion and also fix problems they currently
have.
The first approach is feedforward control, which takes place before operations begin and include
policies, procedures, and rules designed to ensure that planned activities are carried out properly
(Bateman Snell). Feedforward controls help managers by allowing them managers to plan
efficiently, regulate resources, employees, materials and capital. Feedforward identifies problems

The Problem Of Teacher Attrition
In conclusion, teacher attrition is a growing issue that is plaguing education. A proactive approach
needs to be taken to combat this growing issue instead of a reactive approach. Teachers are leaving
the profession by the thousands weekly. Students, school districts, and communities are all feeling
the effects of the lack of an adequate educational system, especially in high poverty, low performing
schooldistricts. These are the districts that need quality teachers the most but are at the biggest
disadvantage because of difficulties attracting quality teachers to the areas. In order to close the
achievement gap, states are requiring teachers to be highly qualified. Highly qualified means
teachers have graduated from a four year institute and completed a teacher certification program.
States and school districts are required to notify parents if their child s teacher is not highly
qualified. States and school districts feel that highly qualified teachers translates to increased
student achievement. The public and the states has two varying views on what it means to be a
highly qualified teacher. The state says that a highly qualified teacher has completed a four year
institute and teacher certification program. The public feels that a highly qualified teacher is one
that possess classroom management skills, knowledgeable of the subject matter they teach,
understand how student learn, and monitor and assess student progress. Student achievement is the

My Life Compared To Joseph CampbellВґs Hero s Journey
How is my life like Joseph Campbell s Hero s Journey? I can really relate to Joseph Campbell s
story because I was put into a very similar situation. There were many stages that were always
challenging so to speak the, call to adventure or crossing the threshold . I might not be a hero, but
my life still faces journeys and conflicts just like a real hero. Also, when i reflect my life as a
youtuber to his Hero s Journey, I can always see some type of similarity. Lastly, there was a point
where i started finding my true friends and/or allies. In that time I could see who my enemies
were as well! My life s journey as a youtuber has put me in a situation like Joseph Campbells Hero
s Journey because I stepped out of my ordinary world to where I would different than everybody
else. I met my mentors from youtube and they helped me through a lot of the bullying from school.
They were more like a mentor than just a youtuber to me. From being who I want to be... Show

Being a youtuber isn t exactly like it considering I m not a real hero. However, becoming a
youtuber and taking that role that sometimes you never knew you might have, you are there for
people that need it in some cases when they might be suicidal, they might know you as their
hero. That means in some way you made them change their mind of the bad thoughts even when
you have no idea you did. You don t have to have a cape or the ability to fly to be a hero. For
instance, my hero wears camouflage and hunts, my hero is my boyfriend, Steven. Try putting
yourself in a situation where you are now the hero and you find that you have saved someone but
you were never personally there to fly in and save them from the giant spaghetti monster. The
point is, maybe being a social media hero is as powerful as one with a cape and super strength. In
my mind, I can totally say that, being a youtuber does relate to Hero s Journey in some

The Principle Two
2.Principle two Overcoming FEAR
Our second principle for better self empowerment is the overcoming of fear in general. Fear is a
part of our lives. It appears when we are uncertain or faced with something new. It is natural to
feel this way, but it can become a problem when it rules our every decision. If for instance, the fear
of failing a job interview keeps you indoors and miserable, then there s a serious problem here. So,
what is fear? Well, fear can be described as an uncomfortable emotioncaused by the strong
impression that a person or an object is harmful, capable of causing pain, or a poses threat. In other
words, the fear of something or somebody is something that can easily threaten your wellbeing.
It s one thing to be scared of something new, or scared because you feel you re being threatened,
but it is a problem if you use fear to make excuses for your failures in life. For instance, you have
people saying huh, I don t want to go and work overseas because I m scared of people who don t
speak the same language as me . And people like that almost never get out of the country. They
spend their holidays here in the states as well as their honeymoon and would rather let their fear
dictate their conduct. One may think that this type of fear may be justified with all the insecurity
happening all over the world and that we shouldn t blame people who think like that. But, when you
think about it, making excuses for things that are simple, like refusing to take a

  • 2. Essay about Witchcraft Beginning in the Middle Ages and through the seventeenth centuries, an infiltration of witchcraft persevered throughout Europe. The witch craze resulted in the torture and persecution of witches. More than 100,000 of witches who were tried were centered in the area of southwestern Europe. The mass hysteria of witches was denounced because of their rejection of God and their pact with the devil, which resulted in harsh punishments and accusations. One reason for the persecution of witches was they were thought to be the cause of bad harvests, epidemics, natural disasters, and personal tragedies. Witches also had a part in the religious aspect of Europe. The witches were persecuted because of the lack of a main religion, which was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Document A7). Roger North, brother of Chief Justice Exeter explains that if a judge were to go against the public opinion, then the townspeople would think he is not religious and would then possibly be accused. (Document A6) This is an indication that people of all social classes could be targets. In Europe it can be concluded that many had xenophobia of different people or prejudices, but they were held mostly against older women. This is because during the Renaissance people had fears of the supernatural and forces of nature or God, which led to the beliefs of superstition. Therefore, the future mass hysteria of witches would be denounced based on the Renaissance views. In the Middle Ages to the 16th century it can be finalized that the elderly, female, and poor working class were the majority of the accused (Documents D1, 2,3). Statistics drawn from the contemporary court records conclude that most of the suspected witches were above the age of 50 and 80% of females were executed for witchcraft. The trials of witches were centered in southwestern Europe because these bordering areas lacked a strong central authority and were places of social chaos. W.Fulbecke believed that witches aimed at the destruction of others through the spread of their own diseases to others, based on their pact with Satan (Document C1). Kramer and Sprenger were two Dominican monks who held a conspicuous bias towards women and the elderly (Document ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Logistics Case Study Essay Case 1: Integrated Logistics for DEP/GARD Tom Lippet, sales representative for DuPont Engineering Polymers (DEP), felt uneasy as he drove to his appointment at GARD (Automotive Manufacturing (GARD). GARD is one of DEP s biggest customers. In the past, sales deals with GARD had proceeded smoothly. Oftentimes competitors were not even invited to bid on the GARD business. Mike O Leary, purchasing agent at GARD, claimed that was because no competitor could match DEP s product quality. But this contract negotiation was different. Several weeks before the contract renewal talks began, O Leary had announced his plan to retire in 6 months. GARD managementquickly promoted Richard Binish as O Leary s successor.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Light banter continued as the three moved down the hallway to a small conference room. Well, great news, Tom! DEP has the contract again! O Leary paused, then continued, But there s going to be a slight modification. Instead of the traditional 2 year contract we re only going to offer a 1 year deal. Nothing personal, just that management feels it s only fair to Richard that these last contracts I negotiate be limited to a year. That way he doesn t get locked into any deals that might make him look bad! O Leary roared with laughter at his last comment. It is certainly no reflection on DEP, Richard interjected. It simply gives me a chance to evaluate suppliers in the coming year without being locked into a long term contract. If my evaluation concurs with what Mr. O Leary has told me about DEP I see no reason that our successful relationship won t continue. Entirely understandable, replied Tom as his mind pondered the meaning of Binish s evaluation. I m confident you ll find DEP s service and product every bit as good as Mike has told you. Following the meeting O Leary invited Lippet to join him for a cup of coffee in GARD s lunchroom. Binish excused himself, saying he had other matters to attend to. As they enjoyed their coffee, O Leary sighed. You ll be seeing some changes coming, Tom. The best I could do was get you a year. I m not sure I understand. As far as I know GARD s ... • 5. Ventricular Septal Defect Research Paper VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECT Overview A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a heart defect present at birth in which the heart has a hole in the wall (septum) between the two lower chambers (the ventricles). The septum develops parts of muscles and other parts of the membrane. If the septal wall did not develop properly, the child may be born with an atrial defect or ventricular septal defect. This means that there is a gap in the septum. This is sometimes called a hole in the heart. . There may be one or more hole. The size and location of the hole can also vary. Most of the small holes do not require any treatment. Drugs can be used to help with the symptoms that can occur if the hole is bigger. These may include medication to relieve pressure on the heart and lungs and also to help the heart pump blood properly. The surgery can be used to close the hole. There are two types of surgery available: Technical Intra cardiac and trans catheter technique. The surgical technique that is chosen is dictated by the nature of the side effects associated with the patient s heart and lungs. The intra cardiac technique is the most common and is carried out while the patient is under cardiopulmonary bypass and is an open heart surgery. This is the procedure of choice for the majority of children and performed by most pediatric surgery centers. The trans catheter approach is normally more complex and should only be considered in selected patients at pediatric centers that have expertise in this procedure. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. A New World Order For The United States A New World Order The 20th century brought with it a plethora of technological advancements that acted as a catalyst for an important and lasting shift in the United State s perception of its role in the world. Technological advancement in travel and communication changed the American people s views of the world, therefore changing the direction of American foreign policy. This shift in foreign policy would eventually lead the United States into the grips of two horrific wars on the European continent. However, these wars would provide the necessary environment for the country to establish itself as the leader of the international system a title it would desperately need tin order to attempt to create a new, less conflict ridden global order. Though World War Iset the stage for the United States to assume a global leadership role, which then set the stage for a second world war, it is not to say that the United States ever wanted anything to do with a European war in the first place. I argue that the U. S. failures to prevent World War I and World War II was due to a series of actions and events beginning at the turn of the century (a domino effect) that made it impossible to avoid joining either war once they began. Samuel Morse s telegraph revolutionized long distance communication, making it possible for near instant communication, even across such a vast space like the Atlantic Ocean. Equally important as the telegraph, advancements in the capabilities of the steam ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Importance Of Paid Family Leave Pregnancy and early child development is a fundamental aspect of human society, and is pertinent to the development of a successfully functioning community. The developmental and social progress of any civilization relies on children, as they will compose the future working population. Therefore, a mother or father s involvement in the child s development is of extreme importance, which is why family leavehas been implemented all over the world. Family leave refers to the period of time granted to the employee to care for their newborn child. As communities evolve economically, financial stability is necessary, for what is perceived to be socially successful for a child s development, which is why paid family leave is popular throughout the world s nations. However, ABC News reports that the U.S. is only one of three countries in the world that don t offer paid maternityleave (Kim, 2015); the same is true for paternity leave. The United States government has an interesting track record dealing with family leave, but in order to analyze what the US government and advocacy groups have done to solve this issue, there first needs to be an understanding on why this issue is so difficult to resolve. The arguments that support and oppose paid family leave in the United States are equally valid, therefore causing a stalemate in the attempted policy making of legislative bodies. The definition of culture is noted by Inglis culture comprises the patterns of ideas, values, and beliefs common to a particular group of people, their characteristic ways of thinking and feeling (5). Being a part of the minor league hockey community is everyday living; nothing out of the ordinary for the people that have been a costumed to the experience. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When being at the arena there is a whole new set of traditions and rituals surface from where you sit, with who you sit with, and to the music played for the warm up. It is all part and parcel of being part of the hockey community. According to Inglis, The upshot of all this for the understanding of everyday life is that it is not just the social position of a person that structures their everyday activities but the cultural conditions they operate too (5). This is an important part of everyday culture that can be overlooked as it becomes part of your weekend routine. MCGarry, stated Because sport evokes a variety of discursive and non discursive experiences for those involved, these experiences need to be understood as experiences that matter anthropologically. Indeed, seemingly everyday, mundane, yet embodied experiences are often overlooked by anthropolo gists and they have historically eluded the capabilities of traditional anthro pological representation (161). We as a fan population spend countless hours together, when there is a new member of the team it allows for the addition of new traditions pending on the participation of the new member. Through Huck s development of these relationships, his development as an individual is quite evident as novel progresses. So why is it that relationships are such a great influence to Huck? Initially, Guede admitted being in the apartment when Margaret was killed, but he was in the bathroom playing games on his iPod while suffering with food poisoning. He says that Margaret s screams finally filtered through the headphones that he was using and that he emerged to find Rafaela in the apartment. He insists that Rafaela told him that he must keep quiet because everyone would believe that the man of color had committed the crime. Guede insists that he heard Amanda in the apartment but did not see her. He then says that he saw Meredith s dead body, panicked and fled the scene. Meredith s Funeral Friends held a memorial service at Croydon Parish Church on December 14, 2007. The family later interred at Croydon t Mitcham Road Cemetery. Each episode is a stand alone science fiction drama. The show uses dark satire in which technology creates a dystopia, eerily similar to what could happen in reality. The common theme in a few of the episodes is how the government influences and controls the people. Season two, episode two: White Bear. It begins with a woman, named Victoria, who wakes up with no memory, in a house, alone. This episode is successful because it links government spying with social media. It shows how all technology is interconnected and that there are many outcomes that may lead to unintended consequences. Black Mirror has been largely successful since it has been out on Netflix. Before, it only aired in the UK, and had a small following. It is heavily influenced by The Twilight Zone, with self contained stories that are both science fiction set in a different time, but offer social commentary to today s problems. Because it hits so close to home, Black Mirror has become very popular, even years after it first came out. There was a good old boys mentality among the limited few running the company and if you were outside that circle then were told only what they wanted you to hear. An unspoken rule among employees was to do what you were told without questions or risk the consequences. One example of this situation occurred when senior management member Gene Morse told an employee If you show those damn numbers to the f****ing auditors, I ll throw you out the window (Kaplan, R.S., Kiron, D., 2007, p. 3).WorldCom showed no concern regarding an employee s need and obligation to voice concerns on matters related... Many steps could have been taken to prevent the collapse of the WorldCom empire, but only a few key managers held the power and none were willing to take action. One control that did not exist in WorldCom s culture was allowing both internal and external auditors access to all necessary documents and statements. Without full disclosure of these items no one could see how many risks the company was taking by making fraudulent entries against their books. Also the external audit team, Arthur Anderson, held WorldCom as one of its best customers which was a major conflict of interest. This relationship lead to many fundamental mistakes from Anderson not keeping pressure on WorldCom and getting all vital information that would prove how poorly the company was being run. Had they been operating transparently, auditors and employees would have seen the accounting deception and could potentially have stopped it prior to the company s collapse. In addition, by employing multiple auditing firms many of the mistakes being made may have been caught and discontinued from the beginning. He experimented with a radioactive isotope of the element radium, and the respective emissions of beta particles, to form the first atomic battery (source 5). This first crude battery saw minimal success and effectiveness, and it wasn t until 1954 when the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) began studying atomic batteries for the use of small radio receivers and hearing aids that atomic batteries became practical and more potential was realized (source 6). Moving forward to the 1980 s, inventor Paul Brown developed an atomic battery that was much more powerful than most thermal batteries out at the time. Brown used the emission of alpha and beta particles in radioactive materials to create an extremely powerful magnetic field. As discussed before, these alpha and beta particles contain kinetic energy to help collide atomic particles. The energy produced from this system was so rapid and immense that controlling the cell was extremely difficult. This proved to be a towering roadblock for most scientists to continue research for atomic batteries, until Brown was able to invent an approach to encompass the uncontrollable magnetic fields. He emerged as a ruler who supported Christianityand then became popular as a Christian ruler himself. His reign and victory over the Roman Empireis a significant event in the history of Christian religion. With the Edict of Milan in 313 Christianity was recognized as a religion, and the followers were free to practice Christianity without fear. It has been argued that Constantine failed to treat different religions equally as paganism (Cameron, 57). Constantine also sponsored churches, promoted Christians to high government ranks, exempted taxes for the clergy. In the latter days of his rule Constantine had a stricter approach towards Christianity and professed that there is one God, the Christian God. He rewarded building temples into churches. He played a key role in framing important church policies namely The Council of Arles, A.D. 314 and The Council of Nicaea, A.D. 325. The story frames it as, Boys hanging from the most beautiful sycamores in the world. It shamed her remembering the wonderful soughing trees rather than the boys (pg. 7). Thus, right off the bat, Sethe has a clear relationship with nature but it is so two faced that it could be something seen as a beautiful sight or a shocking reminder. The book is about animals rising and taking over a farm after years of being abused by the human owners. However, the book has many parallels The Russian Revolution, such as the Animals need to take over the farm and exile Mr Jones, how Snowball is exiled from animal farm and how Napoleon becomes just like the very thing the animals sought to exile from their farm. The overtaking of Manor Farm represents many events that took place during The Russian Revolution. Firstly, Old Majors speech about how life is miserable and how all animals are equal draws many parallels with Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto, a book about the basics of communism. Karl Marx, just like old Major was considered the Father of Communism, just like how Old Major was Considered the Father of Animalism. Furthermore, Mr Jones, the owner of the farm, is very similar the current ruler at the time, Tsar Nicholas II. Mr Jones, just like Nicholas II, was very unpopular amongst his people. He did not really want to rule and did not care for the people whom he led. Eventually, both leaders were exiled by the people. Eisenstein s revolutionary propaganda film Bronenosets Potyomkin was released, commonly known in the West as Battleship Potemkin. The film is based upon historical events, namely the mutiny on the signature naval ship that was part of the Russian revolution in 1905. The film was voted to be the greatest film of all time at the World s Fair in 1958 in Brussels, Belgium: Even at the height of the Cold War, spectators would still be captured by its recreation of a spontaneous mutiny on one of the czar s naval vessels (Dickstein 91). ... • 29. An Example Of Western Culture In The Baroque Period In Italy A perfect example of western art that depicts the drama and theatre during the periodization of 17th century Italian Baroque, is the piece titled Susanna and the Elders by Artemisia Gentileschi. In this painting, there is a woman taking a bath, however, behind her are two men who appear to be causing trouble. The biblical story has it that while Susanna was bathing, two judges cornered her offered her a bargain. The malicious men said that either she was to sleep with them, or they would tell the people that she had been seen with another man as a threat. Rather than being stoned, Susanna was preserved and the two men were punished for their actions. The Baroqueperiod in Italy had many key historical events and heavily influenced the visual culture. Italian culture during the Baroque period was significant because it had many key kinds of art, monuments and other visuals that represented this time period. During the 17th century, the Baroque consisted of a strong annunciation surrounding drama, theatre, and reformation. Figures were often displayed as if they were at a performance. Each painting was detailed and depicted a dramatic scene that told an elaborate story. It was common for a woman to be portrayed naked and freely as this was something that occurred often. This era also included an abundance of lights and darks that were juxtaposed to evoke feelings from the audience. Non western art was equally as exceptional as each countries art had a significant way of incorporating their culture into each piece. Li K an s 14th century ink on paper painting titled Bamboo displays the beauty within a single form of art, ink. Although simplistic, the ink has been manipulated into fine lines that show the foliage of the leaves on the background. This intricate calligraphy work enhances the piece and allows the artwork to reflect peace and delicacy. Unlike work from the 17th century Italian Baroque, the Chinese culture does not depict naked women but rather aims towards the ideals of nature. In China, the artwork was important as it enhanced the key events that were occurring during this time period in Chinese culture. It will only assess the assets at risk, and the threat to those assets. Risk mitigation and management will be covered in a different section. The book also states the fact that to become successful in the organization, one should have management and leadership skills in balance. As the imbalance between these two can be harmful for the person and for the organization he is working for. Book has also given the way you can analyze your own skills and if you are leader or manager which can be very helpful for anyone to examine by their own. In part two, Author sheds light on relational leadership. Relational leadership applies to everyone irrespective of gender, race or seniority. Leadership is always considered as power and authority but in day to day life, leadership is not about power and authority but it is about taking people with you, motivate them, show confidence in them and show that you believe in their capability. People work better if they are motivated. In my career I have worked for several different managers but one of the mangers, Amar for whom I liked working the most. I worked for Amar for few months during intra skills development program. He was a people oriented person. Also, he was famous for developing leaders in the team. • 34. Child Abusers And Children And Adults All Over The World Child abusers coexist with children and adults all over the world, but this does not necessarily have to be public knowledge. People in support of child abusers having public records often feel their children are safer with this knowledge, allowing them to determine where to live and raise their children. Others argue these public records are a violation of rights dictated within the Constitution and abusers should be allowed to maintain their privacy regardless of their crime. Both sides advocate for the rights of either the abuser or the child to ensure protection. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, sexual abuseinvolving children is defined as, any completed or attempted (noncompleted) sexual act, sexual contact with, or exploitation (i.e. noncontact sexual interaction) of a child with a caregiver (Murray, Nguyen, and Cohen, 322). Although varying opinions exist about the functioning definition of child sexual abuse, the debate over the controversy of child abuser s identities is typically discussed based on this definition. This ongoing debate revolves around the question as to whether or not the public should know the identities of those convicted of child sexual abuse and how much information should be made public based on the individual offender s case. Currently, a child sexual abuser s personal information such as, the offender s name, address, offense, place of employment or schooling, and license plate number, along with a ... People who bought the rifle said that it is powerful and good to use for hunting small game. The adjustable trigger and automatic safety are some of the features that they liked. The air rifle has very good knockdown capability especially if you use heavy pellets. There are some negative comments about the product. Since the Ruger Air Magnum is a spring piston air rifle, it does recoil. This can affect the accuracy when shooting. It also causes some discomfort; fortunately, it has a rubber recoil pad to minimize that. A number of people expressed their dissatisfaction with the telescopic sight that comes with the rifle. The 4x32 scope did not function very well and sighting in can be difficult. Another issue is the loud sound produced when shooting. This is due to the high velocity (up to 1400 fps). This can be a concern if you live in a highly populated neighbourhood. In some instances, it may also be hard to cock the rifle and you need to put some effort into it. Now I will tell you what really happened. It was a nice sunny day in the middle of summer. There was a girl who everyone called Little Red Riding Hood (because she always wore a red jacket with a red hood and she was small), but her real name was Elizabeth. Elizabeth the cruel. She was just getting out of church and walking home, but on her way, a bluebird approached her and said that her grandma was very ill. Just then, fox leaped out of his hiding spot and attacked Red from behind. Fox and I fled the house. Later that night when grandma got home, she saw that Little Red Riding Hood was hurt. Grandma took her to the hospital. When Red told them about what had happened, the cops thought the hair that she had on her jacket was mine. But I was innocent and this story proves it! • 37. 1 And 2 Corinthians Freedom The greatness of Jesus death on the cross and his resurrection is freedom from the law, freedom from the consequences of sin and freedom to live a new life. In essence, one s salvation is no longer based on their ability to fulfill the law, but instead placing faith in Christ and his fulfillment through the cross. Yet, there is great tension in Christ s gift of freedom. Are there behaviors or actions that can diminish Christ s work in one s life and are Christians free to do anything they want because they have been forgiven? Certainly these questions have been answered through Paul s letters to the church in Corinth. The books of 1 2 Corinthians are addressed to people who have come out of a pagan lifestyle and accepted Christ as their Savior. Yet at the same time, they struggle to leave their old way of life behind. What is more, they claim to have knowledge that allows them live however they want; and yet, Paul confronts their claim as foolishness and complete missing of why Jesus died and rose again. This point comes to a head within 1 Corinthians chapter eight; in which, Paul s purpose of this chapter is to correct the church s wrongful understanding of freedom; such as eating food sacrificed to... For a healthy person, nutrition is taken into the body as easily as breathing in air. If a patient is in need of a feeding tube to stay alive is it ethical to not place the tube and let them die? It is devastating to families when a tragedy occurs and their loved one can no longer sustain what was once a simple bodily function, such as eating or drinking. Now, the decision must be made to either keep them alive via feeding tube, or allow them to pass on. Some bioethicists believe the right to refuse nutrition is engrained in our society and is distinctly categorized as a medical treatment versus basic human care (Rae, 2010, p. 224). The Hippocratic Oath prohibits doctors from killing or assisting patients in killing themselves (Rae, 2009, p.212). Physicians also have to respect the patient s wishes, whether they agree with them or not. What is important is that the patient is getting the best care possible and they are being treated with respect and dignity. Advanced care planning is vital so that the patient and their family does not unnecessarily have to suffer by poor legislature and healthcare loopholes (Russell, 2014, p. 997). By planning in advance for life and death events the patient, family, and healthcare providers can all be more successful in their prospective roles (Russell, 2014, p. 998). • 39. Inclusion In Special Education Students across America with special needs have been integrated into classrooms with populations of general education students. This integration of students with special needs and students in general education is called inclusion. Inclusion is no longer an option for schools to choose or not choose. Federal law now requires the inclusion of all students with special needs if that placement is the least restrictive environment. Public Law 94 142, which states that education will be provided to all handicapped children, was enacted to prevent discrimination that was considered wide spread (Elliott et McKenney, 1998). An amendment to this act in 1990, titled Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), stated that the education of that person would include all academic areas, as well as the vocational and technical areas of education (Cronis Ellis, 2000). Many high school instructors believe that the process of including students with special needs into general education classes demonstrates reverse discrimination for general education students. Some feel that there is a failure to meet the needs of either regular or special education students (Winzer, 1998, p. 2). Because inclusion causes a change in how educators teach and students learn, it becomes important to analyze the effects of inclusion on the general education students to best serve both populations. Teachers struggle with the concept of inclusion for a variety of reasons. Some feel that the students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since it was written well before 1830 colloquial prose is automatically ruled out. The dialogue in this play is more the thoughts of the characters instead of their actual words. For example Faustus says, Faustus, begin thine incantations, And try if devils will obey thy hest, Seeing thou hast pray d and sacrific d to them. (1.29) Here is alone on stage talking to himself. Normally people when alone do not talk to themselves, but Marlow uses that time to tell us what Faustus is doing, it keeps us informed. Antisocial Personality Disorder ( Adhd ) Antisocial Personality Disorder Kevin Adams Medgar Ever College Antisocial Personality Disorder is often wrongly called sociopathy or psychopathy although both sociopathy and psychopathy are not recognized professional labels for the diagnosis. Antisocial may not be the best way to describe the disorder because it implies shyness and people who suffer from the disorder tend to be more outgoing, charming and pragmatic. The term came about because the disorder is anti society. It s behavior that s directed against society. (Black, 2013) To my surprise ASPD is actually quite common, being as common as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder [ADHD], obsessive compulsive disorder [OCD], and panic; and it may be even more common when taking into account those who don t report or those who deny their symptoms. ASPD is diagnosed using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder, 5th edition [DSM 5]. Antisocial Personality Disorder[ASPD] is characterized by a lack of sensitivity, aggression hostility, deceitfulness, manipulative behavior, impulsiveness, imprudence, narcissism, and irresponsibility. A proactive approach needs to be taken to combat this growing issue instead of a reactive approach. Teachers are leaving the profession by the thousands weekly. Students, school districts, and communities are all feeling the effects of the lack of an adequate educational system, especially in high poverty, low performing schooldistricts. These are the districts that need quality teachers the most but are at the biggest disadvantage because of difficulties attracting quality teachers to the areas. In order to close the achievement gap, states are requiring teachers to be highly qualified. Highly qualified means teachers have graduated from a four year institute and completed a teacher certification program. States and school districts are required to notify parents if their child s teacher is not highly qualified. States and school districts feel that highly qualified teachers translates to increased student achievement. The public and the states has two varying views on what it means to be a highly qualified teacher. • 47. The Principle Two 2.Principle two Overcoming FEAR Our second principle for better self empowerment is the overcoming of fear in general. Fear is a part of our lives. It appears when we are uncertain or faced with something new. It is natural to feel this way, but it can become a problem when it rules our every decision. If for instance, the fear of failing a job interview keeps you indoors and miserable, then there s a serious problem here. So, what is fear? Well, fear can be described as an uncomfortable emotioncaused by the strong impression that a person or an object is harmful, capable of causing pain, or a poses threat. In other words, the fear of something or somebody is something that can easily threaten your wellbeing. It s one thing to be scared of something new, or scared because you feel you re being threatened, but it is a problem if you use fear to make excuses for your failures in life. For instance, you have people saying huh, I don t want to go and work overseas because I m scared of people who don t speak the same language as me . And people like that almost never get out of the country. They spend their holidays here in the states as well as their honeymoon and would rather let their fear dictate their conduct.
