This book is about how he killed and what Jack the Ripper did, it tells about his life
and what happened (This book is out dated because we have discovered more since
1975). It also shows lots of pictures, they weren t very good pictures but they were
there. The book shows most things he did. He killed at least 5 prostitutes and took
apart their bodies. This terrorized the Whitechapel district, he did this from August
7th to September 10th in 1888. It s a mystery on how he died according to the book,
but keep in mind the book is outdated.
It s a decent book but I didn t find it very interesting, it started out very slow but

manuscript. Particularly in the beginning, Beard does a great job of enticing the
assumed college level reader and relating to that specific audience. She does this
when explaining, understanding the images around us, by talking about a French
perfume advertisement. By doing this, she relates to the age group that would be
reading this manuscript by combining something that they might be familiar with, to
something they are unfamiliar with. Although this is initially a strong way to go
about attracting the reader, it needs to be done at the right moments. On pages
fourteen and fifteen, she gives many more unrelated examples, which ultimately,
causes the reader to forget the original point trying to be made. Beard s claim
needed to be made quicker, before the reader loses sight of what the article is about.

This week s reflection is on a book titled Girls Like Us and it is authored by Rachel

On the 31st of March we watched the Woman in Black at the Fortune theatre in
London, as part of our unit two assessment. The play is about Arthur Kipps who
tells the gripping story of the terrible events he survived when he encountered the
woman in black. He learns about the death of Mrs Drablow and travels to the town
of Crythin Gifford. Here he meets many petrified faces, too scared to about the
womanin black. Through the story of Mr Kipps we learn that a woman named
Jennet Humfrye had a child unmarried and was forced to leave her child with her
sister Mrs Drablow, years later Jennet plans to run away with her son but before
she able to, the tragic event of his death occurs. Due to the unbearable grief Jennet
suffers from a terrible wasting disease leading to her death. Instantly after her death
she returns as the Woman in Black and haunts the people of the town who are too
afraid to speak of her name. After hearing this story he leaves the town, many years
later after getting married and having a child he thinks he sees the woman in black

The English Civil War The English Civil War was a complicated, intellectual war
between the two most powerful forces in England: Parliament and the King.
Conflicts between the two powers began when King Charles I dissolved Parliament
in 1625 because they would not give him the money he demanded to fund his war

While there were minor reforms to the system, the people, the Church and the
Monarchy of England went back to living their lives relatively the same as they
had before the start of the English Civil War. Violence during the English Civil war
effected hundreds of thousands of English civilians. However, while violence

limited. Casualties during the war were high: 190 000 people died in England and
868 000, or 11.6% of the population, perished within the British Isles. This number
was only a third of the amount of people who died in England during the great

women and children lost husbands and fathers, their loses were quickly replaced
by new husbands or relatives to help out. By the end of the war, most people
simply wanted to get on with their lives since there was nothing that they could

the south central Minnesota was to determine the relationship between social
networks and the risk for falls. This study had not only explored the absence or
presence of different types of social networks, but also assessed the impact of the
size of social networks, frequency of contact, and closeness with social networks on
the risk for falls among community dwelling older adults. The aim of this chapter is

These tools were used to collect data on demographics, risk for falls, and social
networks measure. The demographics tool was used to describe the characteristics of
the participants. The data from the demographics was not used for any statistical
analysis to measure the relationship between the variables. The FRQ tool helped to
measure the dependent variable of the study; the risk for falls among community
dwelling older adults. Lastly, the LSNS tool was used to measure the independent
variable of the study; social networks.
In this study, there was no statistically significant relationship between social
networks and risk for falls. Similarly, the relationship between different type of social
networks and the risk for falls were not different from each other and had no
statistical significance. In contrast, there was statistically significant difference on
the total score of the LSNS between the community dwelling older adults who were
at risk for falls and not at risk for falls. The mean score of the older adults who were
at risk were lower than the older adults who were not at risk for falls. This result
was different than previous two studies, which found no statistically significant
relationship between the risk for falls and the total score on the social support
(Guzman et al., 20013; Huang et al., 2003). Therefore, the participants in the current
study showed that the older adults who are at risk for falls are at higher risk for
social isolation
