1) Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is a systematic approach that promotes the equalization of opportunities and social integration of people with disabilities through locally available resources and the combined efforts of people with disabilities, their families, and communities. 2) CBR aims to provide health, education, vocational, and social services while empowering people with disabilities and making them aware of their role in the community. 3) In the Islamic concept of CBR, the Quran and hadith promote treating people with disabilities as integral members of society and removing social, institutional, and attitudinal barriers they face.
