This document describes a proposed MAC (multiply and accumulate) unit design that aims to improve performance and reduce resource usage compared to conventional pipeline MAC unit designs. The proposed design uses Booth encoding to reduce the number of partial products, groups the partial products into blocks that are added using multi-operand adders, and implements circular convolution by rearranging the partial products. Simulation results show that the proposed design achieves higher performance and lower resource usage than conventional pipeline and redundant carry-save MAC unit designs. The design is synthesized on an Altera Stratix III FPGA to take advantage of fast carry chains.
Multipliers play an important role in today’s digital signal processing (DSP) and various other
applications. Multiplication is the most time consuming process in various signal processing operations like
convolution, circular convolution, auto-correlation and cross-correlation. With advances in technology, many
researchers have tried and are trying to design multipliers which offer either of the following- high speed, low
power consumption, regularity of layout and hence less area or even combination of them in multiplier. However
area and speed are two conflicting constraints. So improving speed results always in larger areas. So here we try
to find out the best trade off solution among the both of them. To have features like high speed and low power
consumption multipliers several algorithms have been introduced .In this paper, we describes Multipliers by using
various algorithm in VLSI technology.

Abstract : We known that different multipliers consume most of the power in DSP computations, FIR filters.
Hence, it is very important factor for modern DSP systems to built low-power multipliers to minimize the power
dissipation. In this paper, we presents high speed & low power Row Column bypass multiplier design
methodology that inserts more number of zeros in the multiplicand thereby bypass the number of zero in row &
Column as well as reduce power consumption. The bypassing of zero activity of the component used in the
process of multiplication, depends on the input bit data. This means if the input bit data is zero, corresponding
row and column of adders need not be addition & transfer bit in next row and column adder circuit. If
multiplicand having more zeros, higher power reduction can be achieved. At last stage of Row & column bypass
multiplier having ripple carry adder which are increase time to generate carry bit to transfer next adder
circuit. To reduce this problem by using Carry bypass adder in place of ripple carry adder, then new
modification of Row &column multiplier having high speed in comparison to simple row & column bypass

speed overhead on the average for 4x4, 8x8 and 16x16 multiplier.

Efficient Design of Ripple Carry Adder and Carry Skip Adder with Low Quantum ...IJERA Editor
The addition of two binary numbers is the important and most frequently used arithmetic process on
microprocessors, digital signal processors (DSP), and data-processing application-specific integrated circuits
(ASIC). Therefore, binary adders are critical structure blocks in very large-scale integrated (VLSI) circuits.
Their effective application is not trivial because a costly carry spread operation involving all operand bits has to
be achieved. Many different circuit constructions for binary addition have been planned over the last decades,
covering a wide range of presentation characteristics. In today era, reversibility has become essential part of
digital world to make digital circuits more efficient. In this paper, we have proposed a new method to reduce
quantum cost for ripple carry adder and carry skip adder. The results are simulated in Xilinx by using VHDL
language.

The proposed system is an efficient processing of 16-bit Multiplier Accumulator using Radix-8 and Radix-16 modified Booth Algorithm and other adders (SPST adder, Carry select adder, Parallel Prefix adder) using VHDL (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language). This proposed system provides low power, high speed and fewer delays. In both booth multipliers, comparison between the power consumption (mw) and estimated delay (ns) are calculated. The application of digital signal processing like fast fourier transform, finite impulse response and convolution needs high speed and low power MAC (Multiplier and Accumulator) units to construct an added. By reducing the glitches (from 1 to 0 transition) and spikes (from 0 to 1 transition), the speed of operation is improved and dynamic power is reduced. The adder designed with SPST avoids the unwanted glitches and spikes, reduce the switching power dissipation and the dynamic power. The speed can be improved by reducing the number of partial products to half, by grouping of bits in the multiplier term. The proposed Radix-8 and Radix-16 Modified Booth Algorithm MAC with SPST reduces the delay and obtain low power consumption as compared to array MAC.
Hardware Implementation of Two’s Compliment Multiplier with Partial Product b...IJERA Editor
With the emergence of portable computing and communication systems, power consumption has become one of the major objectives during VLSI design. Furthermore, the multiplication is an essential arithmetic operation for common DSP applications, such as filtering, convolution, fast Fourier Transform (FFT) etc. To achieve high execution speed, parallel array multipliers are widely used. These multipliers tend to consume most of the power in DSP computations, and thus power-efficient multipliers are very important for the design of low-power DSP systems. This paper presents an approach to reduce power consumption of 2’s compliment multiplier design, in which switching activities are reduced through dynamic by passing of partial products.
In present day MAC unit is demanded in most of the Digital signal processing. Function of addition and multiplication is performed by the MAC unit. MAC operates in two stages. Firstly, multiplier computes the given number output and the result is forwarded to second stage i.e. addition/accumulation operates. Speed of multiplier is important in MAC unit which determines critical path as well as area is also of great importance in designing of MAC unit. Multiplier plays an important roles in many digital signal processing (DSP) applications such as in convolution, digital filters and other data processing unit. Many research has been performed on MAC implementation. This paper provides analysis of the research and investigations held till now.

A METHODOLOGY FOR IMPROVEMENT OF ROBA MULTIPLIER FOR ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONSVLSICS Design
In this paper, propose an approximate multiplier that is high speed yet energy efficient. The approach is to
around the operands to the closest exponent of 2. This way the machine intensive a part of the
multiplication is omitted up speed and energy consumption. The potency of the planned multiplier factor is
evaluated by comparing its performance with those of some approximate and correct multipliers using
different design parameters. In this proposed approach combined the conventional RoBA multiplier with
Kogge-stone parallel prefix adder. The results revealed that, in most (all) cases, the newly designed RoBA
multiplier architectures outperformed the corresponding approximate (exact) multipliers. Thus improved
the parameters of RoBA multiplier which can be used in the voice or image smoothing applications in the
DSP.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
