This document summarizes a research study on the use of manufactured sand and hypo sludge in cement concrete. Manufactured sand is produced by crushing stone as an alternative to river sand, which is being depleted and damaging the environment. Hypo sludge is a waste produced by paper mills. The study involves casting concrete cubes with different percentages of hypo sludge replacing cement (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%), while using manufactured sand instead of river sand. The cubes will be tested for compressive strength. Previous research shows that manufactured sand can be a viable alternative to river sand. Using waste materials like hypo sludge in concrete can improve sustainability while reducing construction costs and environmental impacts. The goal of this study

Nepal. Findings clearly indicate that the most important causes were lack of proper management, awareness and
understanding, quality, test skill and knowledge with contractor, consult and other stake holders. Also government
and authority have not taken action to support legal aspects and control illegal operation as well as maintain supply
management of construction sand for infrastructure projects.

Abstract Mine wastes are one of the chronic waste concerns. The volume of solid waste generated during mining process, is one of the main pollution concern. The presence of high concentration of heavy metals and acid producing mineral phases can endanger the environment if management of these wastes are not addressed properly. Mine wastes have numerous ecological effects viz Air, Land and Water. There is a great difficulty in finding space for the storage of wastes generated in enormous quantity. The review of past studies indicated that 50 to 60% of mine waste by volume can be used as coarse grained particle and 10 to 15% by volume as fine aggregate. Despite quite a lot of attempts to diminish the amount of waste, mine waste remains one of world’s largest waste streams. Black cotton soil on the other hand is problematic due to the presence of momtmorillonite that imparts high swell- shrink potentials. These soils are very hard when dry but loose strength completely when wet. Pavement surface on poor soil subgrade show early distress causing pavement failure. The present study examines the utilization of these wastes as stabilizers for black cotton soil for unpaved road construction. Abstract Concrete is a pourable mix of cement, water, sand, and gravel that hardens into a super strong building material. In the recent decades demolition of old buildings, renovation of construction gave rise to gargantuan amounts of construction and demolition waste. Even the waste produced by industries and households got amplified. So experiments were carried out in the laboratory to scrutinize a concrete made of partial replacement of coarse aggregate with construction and demolition waste materials like ceramic tiles waste, plastic debris, crushed bricks. The resultant concrete thus produced was tested on the following parameters like compressive strength, workability, flexural strength. The results thus obtained are compared with a plain cement concrete. By using low weight materials like plastic debris we got a light weight concrete. The workability of concrete produced with construction waste when compared with plain cement concrete is not reliable but it produced a considerable increase in the compressive strength. So we have increased quantity of plastic debris and deducted some quantity of other waste, by this the workability standards are maintained .Hence by using required quantities strength and workability are acquired. Economy plays a imperative role in any construction, by partially replacing of coarse aggregate with construction and demolition waste, plastic waste the cost of construction can be reduced. These wastes can cause pollution that effects human health. Using these wastes effectively in construction activities the rate of pollution can also be controlled. Even the properties of concrete can also be improved. Key Words: Construction and Demolition waste, Plastic Debris, Compressive Strength, Flexural Strength, Workability.

In these studies transport came to the fore and it has become indispensable. In the light of today's technological conditions, air transport is developing at an increasing rate. Every day many aircrafts are produced, which have different speeds, weight and volume, for serve to transport. Therefore to make structures for easy and safe transport need a stable soil. Particularly suitable areas for the airport grounds in cities today, not being physically proper that construction of the airport made on soil with low bearing capacity, swelling potential of an expansive soil, settlement of soil etc, areas. In this study, soil problems encountered in the construction of airports will be explained and a summary of studies on the solution of these problems will be presented.

Extensive dune sand deposits cover specific areas of Iraq. Dune sands are often an environment hazard during strong winds and sand storms particularly in the summer months. A little research has taken place to study the characteristics and the behavior of dune sands. An extensive laboratory testing program was carried out to study the geo technical properties and the behavior of dune sands. The tests include moisture content, classification, compaction, relative density, direct shear, chemical tests. Also, loading tests were carried out on footing model of strip shape (3.2 × 33) cm rested on natural dune sand.
