Mobile devices are growing rapidly, with 46% of US adults owning a smartphone in 2012. The largest demographic of smartphone owners is ages 18-44. As mobile devices become more prevalent in classrooms, it forces a more student-centered and collaborative approach to teaching. However, there are also challenges like limited broadband access, students needing training to use devices for learning, and restrictive policies. Additionally, many existing educational resources may not be compatible with mobile devices due to issues playing Flash content on platforms like the iPad. Converting resources to be iOS compatible will help address this problem.
