Our topic Based on the One Laptop Per Child initiative - OLPC What is the OLPC initiative about? What do they expect children to use the internet for? How does OLPC change the role of children in their use of internet?
Data collection Started learning about OLPC, reading their wiki and institutional website. Divided data collection to find related videos, blogs or websites created by children, pictures, countries involved and dreamweaver how-to’s Online research + book Classroom in a book. Our findings The project is in different stages of implementation in different countries. In most places it is still too soon to see results. Children are being encouraged to tell their stories, but still mostly with help from their teachers or OLPC staff. Aside from blogs and websites, they also make music, art, videos and pictures, they organize teleconferences and record interviews.
Our site Created using Dreamweaver CS5 Created our own template - inspired in the OLPC’s website Layout: top header, two columns -navigation bar + main content - and footer. One level of information - no subindex
