Concept attainment model
The Concept Attainment Model is designed to help students learn concepts and become more effective learners of concepts. It involves presenting students with labeled examples and non-examples of a concept, having them compare attributes and generate hypotheses. Students then define the concept based on essential attributes and provide their own examples. The teacher then tests students' understanding and students discuss their thinking strategies. The goal is to help students learn to organize information and develop inductive reasoning skills.

This seminar discusses rewriting the script about pedagogic research in higher education. It explores how pedagogic research and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) have lower status than "real" research. The seminar will enable participants to examine debates about the merits of pedagogic research and SOTL, and underline the value of systematically examining teaching. Strategies are presented for moving pedagogic research forward, such as building writing communities, encouraging creative research methods, and addressing perceptions that pedagogic research is too local or new of a field.

Ingress is a real time, location-based, social online game, that is continuously played on smartphones. The virtual playground is based on the physical world, visible through maps of earth. Each player needs to choose one of the two combatting factions and aligns oneself with a local community.The purpose of the research is to generate an extensive understanding of the meaning of this game for players and communities. The main question, in which way this game influences or broadens players’ views on urban space, on communities and environments is based on an understanding of Bildung as a process of orientation and transformation.
