A sculpture is a three-dimensional art object that can  -communicate abstract ideas - expresses an atmosphere -evokes certain emotions.
communicate abstract ideas Placebo by Roxy Paine Stainless steal  This sculpture represents the connection between architecture and nature. The sculptor has abstracted the idea of combining new age material with a very natural source to make a sculptural representation.
Express an atmosphere Sidney Shupak's- slides This sculpture represents the feeling of being in a dreamlike state. The feeling of space and movement.
Evoke certain emotions Rowan Gillespie- Famine Memorial statues The Famine Memorial statues were presented to the City of Dublin in 1997. These statues were designed and crafted by Dublin sculptor Rowan Gillespie. The Famine statues are located on Custom House Quay. These sculptures show the pain and suffering that people of Ireland suffered through the famine period.
