This document provides an introduction to human anatomy. It discusses that anatomy is the study of the structure of the human body and its parts. Anatomy is divided into gross/macroscopic anatomy which can be seen with the naked eye, microscopic anatomy or histology which requires a microscope, and other subdivisions including clinical, surgical, surface, and radiological anatomy. Anatomical structures are described based on their relationship using terms like superior, inferior, anterior, posterior, medial, lateral and others. Body cavities include the dorsal cavity housing the brain and spinal cord, and the ventral cavity containing
