This study examined the relationships between organizational factors, task factors, and the effectiveness of informal learning in the workplace. The researchers hypothesized that factors like top management leadership, trust and open communication, and non-routine tasks would be positively related to informal learning effectiveness, while routine tasks would be negatively related. The study found that top management leadership and trust/open communication were positively related to informal learning effectiveness. Routine tasks were negatively related, while task satisfaction was positively related. The implications are that management should focus on leadership, trust-building, and non-routine tasks to support informal learning in the workplace.
