largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices
in the world.
 This is become many of the 70 spices grown in the
world, are native to India.
 The varied agro-climatic zones tropical and
subtropical and temperate are quite conductive for
cultivation of different types of spices in the country
.
 Spices are extensively used as flavouring agent in
various food products and in pharmaceutical
industries in the preparation of various Ayurvedic
medicines.

commercial cultivated in different part of India successfully.
 Essential oils and aroma chemicals are indispensable in various human
activities.
 Some of the important aromatic plants like Lemon grass, Citronella,
Vetiver, Dawana etc. have great demand in our country.
 They are adjuncts of cosmetics, soaps, pharmaceutical preparation,
perfumer, ice- cream, aerated water etc.
