The document describes the steps taken to manipulate an image for use on a travel magazine cover. First, the subject was isolated using the quick selection tool to remove him from the original background. Effects like inner shadow were added to the subject's layer to add depth. Then, the subject was placed into a new image and positioned behind another person for depth of field. A shadow was added under the subject's feet using the burn tool to make him appear part of the new scene. The final manipulated image with the subject integrated into the new background was deemed suitable for the magazine cover.

2. Introduction
 In this task, I was asked to manipulate an image that would be used within
an magazine. This PowerPoint will show the steps I took in reaching the
final image and what image manipulation techniques I use to reach this.
 I am attempting to create an image that will be used for as a cover for a
travel magazine.

3. Removing The Subject From the
Original Image
In this part of the image
manipulation I used the quick
selection tool to isolate the
subject so that he can later on
be removed from this image.
Here I had to intricately zoom
in and cut the subject out of
the image so that as stated I
can move him out of this
setting and into a new
backdrop.

4. Adding Effect’s
In this section I went ahead and
added effects to the layer that
comprised of the subjects body.
The effects that I added was
specifically Inner shadow effects
which were added to give the
base image of the subject more
depth and to make him look
slightly more natural on the new
background.

5. Adding The Subject In
At this step I simply moved the
subject into the image and
place him behind the largest
person in the image due to
depth of field. This step was
especially important as the size
and positioning of the subject
help add to the realism of the
image and also help to make
him look like a natural part of
this image.

6. Adding Effects
At this point when zooming in
the character looked out of place
in the image as he had no
shadow so what I did was I added
a shadow for the character using
the burn tool beneath his feat to
make him look more in place in
the image.

7. End Product
As we can see by the end of this process, the subject
has shadows added beneath him and the
background and are the subject takes up on the
image were also changed and the end result is the
central image that would be used for a travel
magazine. When looking back at my overall advert I
believe the Photoshop tools I used were able to
effectively achieve my desired outcome and as I have
went through before we can see that the tools I
mainly used the object selection and the layer select
and burn tool helped me achieve this desired out
come as they were able to not only move my subject
to a new backdrop that I selected but they also were
able to help me blend him into the image for
example using the inner shadow option on layer
select and then adding a shadow using the burn tool
help not only give the subject more depth on this
new background but it also helped blend him into it
as if he was a part of the original image.
