This paper develops a fuzzy rule-based model to optimize reservoir releases for the Ukai reservoir project in Gujarat, India, focusing on operational efficiency during the months of July to October in 2007 and 2011. The model utilizes fuzzy logic to produce optimal release values that fulfill irrigation demands while saving water compared to actual releases. Results demonstrate that the fuzzy model successfully meets 100% of demand during the study period, showcasing its effectiveness in managing uncertainty in reservoir operations.
