includes evaluating seven submittals, lead post tender meeting with
contractors and make presentation to Ashghal on the finding of the
evaluation. The project scope includes widening of Khalifa Street from 3 to
4-Lanes,constructionof a two level interchange,andconstructionof500 m
surface water micro tunnel 2.4m diameter.

Prepareda preliminarydesignplanfor10.5 milesof an 8-lanecross section
of freeway, including six interchanges. A detailed traffic analysis was
performed to evaluate interchanges spacing, the required number of lanes
and the level of service of mainline and crossroads intersection. This
project also included the development/ evaluation of a number of
alternatives from which a preferred design was used for the public hearing.
