Special Project Assistant To The Project Manager- Caroni Ltd. on the Development of a project for the National
Sugar Company of Trinidad and Tobago. The works were the leveling and irrigating 20 ha of land for the
cultivation of rice. Recommended and initiated the uses of laser instruments for the land-leveling.
Coordinator-Tendered for and Coordinated the project for the construction of steel oil mains D=0.20m with
valves and connections. The pipes were all pressured welded total length 57.0 km, for the Trinidad & Tobago
Oil Company.
Technical/Project Manager-Tendered for and managed the project for the construction of the St. Benedicts
Gardens Ltd. (Condominium).
Technical Coordinator-Tendered for and coordinated the project for the repairs of a roadway, total length 56.0
km.
Project Manager/Engineer -For the project for the construction of foundation, slabs and retaining walls, pre-
fabricated and installed structural steel frame buildings2 (two), pilings, buildings, sewer mains, water mains,
parking lots, fencing and drainage, for the Catholic Protection Company.
Technical Coordinator/Project Manager-Tendered for and Managed the project for the completion of 5 (five)
pre-fabricated buildings, all super-structural works were of structural steel frame and all paneling were
Imported from west Germany, for the National Secondary Roads Company of Trinidad & Tobago.
Project Manager/Engineer- For works subcontracted by Snamprogretti a Company incorporated in Italy.
General Contractor for the construction of a Urea and Methanol Plants. (Trinidad Petrochemical Projects)
Coordinator-Tendered for and Coordinated the projects for the construction of a drill rig platform location and
access roadway, construction of 4 (four) mud pits (drilling production), for the Trinidad & Tobago Oil
Company.
Coordinator-Coordinated the cleaning of 8 (eight) mud pits on other existing rig platform locations and
tendered for several other similar type works on other existing rig platform locations including road repairs, for
the Trinidad & Tobago Oil Company.
Project Engineer/Manager- For works subcontracted by Voest-Alpine a company incorporated in Austria
General Contractors for the modernization of the Trinidad Cement Company.
Project Engineer/Manager- For works subcontracted by George Wimpy, a Company Incorporated in Great
Britain. The works were the construction of open drains, culverts and 12 roads-crossing (Development of a
Housing Scheme).
Project Engineer/ Manager -For the project for the development of an industrial site for the Trinidad & Tobago
Industrial Development Corporation.
Site Engineer- For the construction of a parking area for the Southland Shopping mall.
Cost of projects varied from US$150,000.00 to USD$ 6,000,000.00
1980-1982- Civil Engineer/Projects Engineer-Guyana Rice Board-State Corporation-Georgetown,
GUYANA (Jarvis International Inc. Consulting Engineers-Salina, Kansas, USA).
Responsible for drawings, specifications and estimates on the 2nd Rice Modernization Project for the
development of 5 (five) receiving, drying, storage and milling centers, 1 (one) export loading terminal.
Coordinated the development of infrastructures, with specific responsibility for site filling, site roads, piling
(concrete and timber) works and designed small structures.
The 2nd Rice Modernization Project was financed by USAID and was in excess of US$ 20,000,000.00. Local
Currency was involved and the amount was financed by the Guyana Rice Board.
Responsibility for budgeting of maintenance works on existing centers. Cost of maintenance works were in
excess of US$ 800,000.00.Anually

1978-1979-Geotechnical Engineer-Mahaica Maichony Abary-Agricultural Development Authority State
Enterprise-Georgetown, GUYANA. Sir. William, Halcrow and Partners Consulting Engineers, Swindon,
GREAT BRITAIN.
Development of a soils laboratory and coordinated all the site investigation works and drilling contracts.
The site investigated were for works of a spill weir 600.00m, reservoir dam 95km, drainage and irrigation
canals 165km – total earth works 30,000,000.00m3, road ways 12km, 4 concrete bridges, pilings,4 pumping
stations, 6 regulators, and one 7 gates sluice. Total area to be under control = 35,000.00 ha of land (First phase).
The Project was the MMA-ADA River Water Control and was financed by IADB and the World Bank and was
in excess of USD$ 70,000,000.00. Local currency involved was financed by the Government of Guyana.
1978-Construction Engineer- Guyana Bauxite Construction Company
State Enterprise, Linden, GUYANA.
Worked on the construction of the Guyana Glass Factory Project and was responsible for the supervision of
construction works.
The works were financed by International Funding and in excess of USD$ 12,000,000.00. Local currency
involved was financed by the Government of Guyana.
1972-1977- Military Engineer (Rank Substantive Lieutenant/Local Captain) Guyana Defense Force-
Engineering Corps, Georgetown, GUYANA
Had full responsibility for the design and construction of several military structures, including the Mahadia
Annai Road Project 278 km, Tumatumari Hydro-Dam Project 35 MW, airfields and bridges. Held several
positions, including Technical advisor to the Commanding Officer, Staff Officer Engineering Command
Headquarters and Officer Commanding the Engineers Squadron.
Attended several military engineering academies overseas; also attended and completed several military courses
locally.
During the above period I reported to the Chief Engineer and to the C.O. depending on my assignments; also
reported to the Technical Advisors to the Army on specific military projects.
1969 -1972 - Assistant Civil Engineer/Assistant Projects Engineer-Guyana Rice Corporation-State
Corporation-Georgetown, GUYANA, Nance Engineering Inc., Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Mitchell

Modernization Project for the development of 6 (six) receiving, drying, storage and milling centers, 1
(one) export loading terminal.
General assistant to the Project Engineer and my duties were the controlling of the drawing office, preparation
of details for civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural works. Also coordinated field, laboratory
test and inspections of all civil, piling (concrete and Timber) and site fill works, including equipment
installations.
Checked all Contractors shop drawings, Contractors progress claims, checked structural calculation and
designed several small structures. The project was financed by USAID and was in excess of USD$
12,000,000.00.
Local currency was involved and the amount was financed by the Guyana Rice Corporation.
1969- 1969-Assistant Geological Controller-Dolomage Campbell & Associates-Consulting Geologists,
Vancouver, CANADA-Lion Mines- Mining Enterprise-Mazaruni, GUYANA.
General assistant to the Geological Controller on the development of the Lion Mines, mining location in Puruni
Mazaruni. Duties were mine engineering, which includes, mine surveying, mapping and controlling the drilling
crews. The mining was done some 300 ft. underground and was made possible through a shaft and tunnels
with rail lines.
The cost of the mine development works were in excess of US$ 1,000,000.00.
1968 -1968 -Quality Control-Louis Berger & Associates-Consulting Architects and Designers, Newark,
New Jersey, USA- Georgetown, GUYANA.
Was attached to the Consultants to the Guyana Trade Union Council on the Development and construction of
a Workers Housing Scheme, the project was the development and construction of a housing scheme and the
Guyana Industrial Training Center, Georgetown, Guyana.
My duties were assisting the Project Engineer on all quality controlling, which includes materials, control,
construction works, drawing office, Field Inspectors and Technicians.
The project was financed by USAID AIFLCO and was in excess of USD$ 8,000,000.00.
Local currency was involved and the amount was financed by the T.U.C. Of Guyana
1967-1968- Chief Technician – BB McCormick & Sons Inc. (Jacksonville Beach, Florida, USA)-
Construction Company- Georgetown, GUYANA .
Worked on the construction of the Atkinson Mackenzie Highway and Improvement of The Atkinson Airport
Runway and Terminals. Projects for the Ministry of Works and Communications, Government of Guyana.
My duties were, testing, design asphalt mixes, structural concrete mixes and controlling the laboratory piles
load test and calibration of the asphalt plant.
The works were the construction of 92 Km of highways which includes all soil testing and pavement
designing, 9 (nine) concrete bridges, construction of the run-way extension and pavement of run-way
shoulders and taxi-ways.
The project was financed by the USAID and was in excess of US$ 25,000,000.00. Local currency involved was
financed by the Government of Guyana.
1965-1967- RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Was engaged by McGill University a Canadian University to perform scientific duties and undertake advanced
scientific studies in meteorology, climatology, geophysics and geology, relating to Humid Tropics Research.
The program was financed by a grant from UNESCO.
1964-1965-FIELD LAYOUT APPRENTICE
Was engaged by George Wimpey Construction Company to perform site layout activities on Reynolds Bauxite
upgrading plant at Everton, Berbice, GUYANA.
