The survey found that 21% of respondents currently use e-signature technology. DocuSign and EchoSign were the most popular providers according to the survey. Usage was found to be similar across regions, though the American region had higher adoption rates. Nearly all industries reported some use of e-signatures, most commonly for sales, purchasing, and internal documents.

About this survey
In November 2008, IACCM surveyed members on their use of E-signature
technology. 343 responses were received. Respondent demographic info is as

Respondents were asked to select the service or software provider they are using
from a list of e-signature technology providers that IACCM is familiar with (i.e.
DocuSign, EchoSign, Silanis, and Interlink Electronics). Respondents were able to
choose “other” if their provider was not among the dropdown choices. Some of the
respondents who chose “other” also identified the company they use by name. In
those cases they have been included in the legend below.
The illustration below shows that companies have adopted e-signature technology
for all types of contracts, including sales and purchasing contracts, internal
documents and approvals.

Regional Result Comparisons
E-signature technology usage statistics were mostly similar across regions.
However it was also observed that the American region is leading the drive for this
relatively new technology.
While DocuSign and EchoSign were popular in all regions, Interlink Electronics was
popular among IACCM’s Asia Pacific members.

signatures technology to some extent – with only members from the Automotive
Industry not indicating their use of the technology.
The graph below illustrates the various providers used by different industries. Of the
providers listed, most are used across industries with the exception of Silanis and
Interlink Electronics, which are used solely within the Public Sector and Oil/Gas
