This document outlines objectives and activities for a lesson on drawing the human figure. The objectives are to improve skills in contour drawing, proportions, anatomy, and using descriptive terminology. Students will first review anatomy terms and prepositions. Then in pairs, one student will draw a figure and describe it to their partner without showing, while the partner draws based on the description. This is a matching game to practice using anatomical terms. The goals are to better understand human form and practice descriptive oral skills.

3. INTRO
On this semester, we have learned about the human figure. The
human form in art, sculpture and other forms involves a study
and appreciation of the beauty of the human body in its
presentation. The study involves an appreciation of the body
shape, including body postures-sitting, standing and
movements -walking, running, dancing etc.
You have already practiced a few poses with the help of a wooden
human mannequin, and you have even drawn some figures from
your own imagination…Well done!!

4.  And now…the challenge!! (Work in pairs)
For this activity you will have to draw 2 human figures; a first one whose
gesture you will have to describe to a classmate, and a second one following
your classmate’s description…it is like a matching game!
(Materials: Two sheets of drawing paper, pencil and eraser).
So…let’s learn and practice the vocabulary first.
