Human Development Theories Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of Human Development Theories can be both intellectually
stimulating and challenging. The difficulty arises from the vast array of theories available, each
offering unique perspectives on the complex process of human development. To begin with, one
must delve into the historical roots of these theories, understanding the evolving ideologies that
have shaped our comprehension of human growth.
The process involves a meticulous examination of foundational theorists such as Freud, Erikson,
Piaget, and Kohlberg, among others, each contributing pivotal concepts to the discourse. The
challenge lies in synthesizing these diverse perspectives into a coherent narrative, navigating
through the nuances and contradictions that may emerge. Furthermore, staying abreast of
contemporary developments and criticisms in the field adds another layer of complexity to the
task.
Moreover, the multifaceted nature of human development, encompassing cognitive, emotional,
social, and physical domains, demands a comprehensive approach. Balancing depth and breadth
becomes essential to provide a holistic understanding of the subject matter. Analyzing real-world
applications and case studies to illustrate theoretical concepts further adds to the intricacy,
requiring a nuanced interpretation of how these theories manifest in actual human experiences.
In essence, writing an essay on Human Development Theories requires not only a solid grasp of
theoretical frameworks but also the ability to critically evaluate, compare, and contrast these
perspectives. The challenge is not just in presenting information but in weaving a narrative that
engages the reader while maintaining academic rigor.
In conclusion, tackling the intricacies of Human Development Theories in an essay is a
formidable task that demands intellectual rigor, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of
the subject matter. It is a journey through the annals of psychology, sociology, and philosophy,
requiring careful navigation to construct a coherent and insightful narrative.

3.27. Cut vertex: Let G= (V, E) be a connected graph. A vertex V Пµ G is called a cut
vertex of graph G, if G V results in a disconnected graph G.
3.28. Cut edge: Let G= (V, E) be a connected graph, an edge E Пµ G is called a cut

3.29. Euler graph: A connected graph G=(V, E) is said to be Euler graph
(traversable), if there exists a path which includes, (which contains each edge of the
graph G exactly once) and each vertex at least once (if we can draw the graph on a
plain paper without repeating any edge or letting the pen). Such a path is called Euler

A Hamiltonian path presents the efficiency of including every vertex in the route.
4.2. Traffic Signal Lights:
To study the traffic control problem at an arbitrary point of intersection, it has to be
modeled mathematically by using a simple graph for the traffic accumulation data
problem. The set of edges of the rudimentary graph will represent the communication
link between the set of nodes at an intersection. In the graph stand for the traffic
control problem, the traffic streams which may move at the same time at an
intersection without any difference will be joined by an edge and the streams which
cannot move together will not be connected by an edge.
The functioning of traffic lights i.e. turning Green/Red/Yellow lights and timing
between them. Here vertex coloring technique is utilised to solve contravenes of time
and space by identifying the chromatic number for the number of cycles needed.
4.3. Social Networks:
We connect with friends via social media or a video gets viral, here user is a Vertex
and other connected users produce an edge, therefore videos get viral when reached
to certain connections. In sociology, economics, political science, medicine, social
biology, psychology, anthropology, history, and related fields, one often wants to
study a society by examining the structure of connections within the society. This
could befriend networks in a high school or Facebook, support networks in a village

The Importance Of Running To Change The Rules
Running to change the rules Should the International Olympic Committee ( I.O.C)
change the rules for runners that aren t as tall or not as great in physical
conditions, i would say no. i think it will make the game even more unfair than it
would be if they kept it the same. How will the I.O.C. decide whether or not
someone is not in good physical condition. Famous runners like usain bolt ( who is
considered the fastest runner in the world)would not be getting first place if they
were to change the rules. But why would the scores be different? How would Usain
Bolt s time and height affect the running amounts of all of the other racers in 2012.If
there was a racer that was 1.8 meters tall like Yohan Blake they would have to run
only 91.8... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Part of the races is being able to run that long for that fast. The runners need to know
how to breath right and right angles and if the change the distance it will give an
advantage to the shorter people and a disadvantage to the taller.usain bolt is the
fastest runner known in the world, if we were to change the rules he would come
almost in last place.i think that usain bolt is the fastest because he know how to cope
with how tall he is and he know the right breathing patterns that work for him and i
think that s why he wins. Don t think about the start of the race, think about winning
and finishing it usain

5.OS Hardening Hardening the OS is an important step because it reduces the
attack surface and opportunities for hackers to get into the system. The Linux
Security Checklist from SANS has basic step by step guidance one can follow in
securing an OS (Homsher Evans, n.d.). 5.1.Never run Jenkins with root
/administrator privileges One should never run with administrator or root
privileges regardless of the operating system platform. If a hacker manages to get
in, he or she will still need to find ways to perform privilege escalation to cause
more harm. Hopefully, this buys enough time for security professionals within the
company to notice abnormal behavior and take action. In addition to not running
with administrator or root privileges, implement least privileges by removing
sudoer access to the account that Jenkins uses (Mutch Anderson, 2011, p.90).
Jenkins master installed on Linux never need sudo access. On Windows, make
sure Jenkins user only belongs to Users group. Mac OSX should run Jenkins as
Standard User because they are not allowed sudo access by default. The same rules
apply to Jenkins nodes because applications such as a compiler or automated testing
run fine with non administrator privileges. The goal here is to minimize attack
surfaces by taking away administrator privileges when access is not required in the
first place. Implementing the principal of least privileges can reduce the damage
caused by compromised account by as much as 86%
Sandra Day O Connor
Sandra Day O Connor Perhaps no other jurist could have come to the Supreme
Court under greater expectations. When President Ronald Reagan nominated
Sandra Day O Connor in 1981 to be the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court, he
did soto keep a campaign promise. O Connor s nomination was quick to draw
criticism from both the political people left and right. Conservatives put down her
lack of federal judicial experience and claimed that she didn t have any constitutional
knowledge. They considered her a wasted nomination and suspected her position on
abortion. Liberals, on the other hand, could not deny their satisfaction at seeing a
woman on the High Court, but they were disappointed in O Connor s apparent lack

market after leaving Stanford. No law firm in California wanted to hire her and
only one offered her a position as a legal secretary. Ironically, a senior partner of
that firm, William French Smith, helped O Connor s nomination to the Supreme
Court years later as the Attorney General. Failing to find suitable work in private
practice, O Connor turned to public service. She accepted a job as the deputy
county attorney for San Mateo, California. When O Connor s husband graduated
from Stanford a year later, the army immediately drafted him into the Judge
Advocate General Corps. John O Connor served in Frankfurt, Germany, for three
years with Sandra by his side. While in Germany, Sandra served as a civilian
lawyer in the Quartermaster s Corps. When the O Connors returned to the U.S. in
1957, they decided to settle down in Phoenix, Arizona. They had their three sons
in the six years that followed. O Connor again found it difficult to obtain a position
with any law firm so she decided to start her own firm with a single partner. She
practiced a wide variety of small cases in her early days as a lawyer since she
lacked specialization and an established reputation. After she gave birth to her second
son, O Connor withdrew from work temporarily to care for her children. She became
involved in many volunteer activities during this time. She devoted much of her time

Team Enzyme Experiment
Team enzyme project report
Introduction
Enzymes are proteins that acts as biological catalysts, helping to catalyze chemical
reactions. This is means that an alternative reaction pathway of lower activation
energy is provided during the speed up reaction. Most enzymes are proteins and hence
have a three dimensional structure of folded polypeptide chains. Most enzymes have
an optimal temperature and pH range in which they function most effectively. If
changes occur that remove the enzyme out of this range, it may not function
effectively. This principle forms the basis of this experimental design where the
increasing temperature results in the denaturing of the enzymes found in bromelain
and thus lowering its catalytic effectiveness. Bromelain ... Show more content on

Tomorrow When The War Began Analysis
Tomorrow When the War Began In the novel Tomorrow When the War Began written
by John Marsden, we as the readers are asked a continuous question, would you love
someone to the point where you would sacrifice your life for their safety? Marsden
helps us understand love, innocence and maturity through the way he outlines this
question in his novel. Love is a theme in Tommorow When the War
Began which
outlines the bond between a couple when going through war and tragic loss. It helps
us as readers understand how war can strengthen this bond. Kevin demonstrates this
situation by yelling No I don t give a stuff what s rational and what s logical, Corrie
s my mate and I m not just going to dump her and run. (pg. 281) In this quote... Show

Homer was an easy going laid back type of guy. He didn t care about grades and the
impressions he left on people. Although, throughout the novel we as the readers
see a significant change in Homer, a change for the better. This situation that
Homer had been thrown in, unlike most of the other characters was a good thing.
He was slowly but at the same time quickly maturing, becoming a young man. This
can be seen early on in the novel when Homer makes a big suggestion I think we
should split up... We need to be out of this town by dawn, a long way out of this
town. And were running out of time... (pg. 75). This is one of the first times in the
novel where Homer takes the reins and leads the group. The author once again
uses direct speech to tell the story, but this time he is also doing something which
is rarely done in novels based on war. Marsden is showing the pro s in war, he is
moving away from the stereotypical storylines and showing how war can change
people for the better. We as readers are being challenged as we don t want to believe
war is a good thing or at least partially a good thing. Even if it s for something as
small as one person becoming a better person then they were before. Homer was
fighting a war but at the same time slowly winning a new
The Threat Of The Atomic Bomb
As Americans, there was no end in sight for the War in the Pacific. The Japanese
would rather die than surrender, and as American casualties rise, the need for a
final ultimatum was becoming more and more dire. Dropping the atomic bomb
was an unfortunate but necessary action taken to defeat an enemy who believed in
unconditional surrender. At the time, we had two options to take to end the War
in the Pacific. Option one was to invade mainland Japan. This would cost America
countless lives on top of those already lost. A former American prisoner of war once
said, If we d landed there with force we d have killed off more people than were
killed by the bomb . Option two was to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and
Nagasaki. This would save... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

planned an attack on the U.S. resulting to the day which will live in infamy. On

Chikankari
Chikan (Hindi: चिकन, Urdu: چکن‬‎) is a traditional embroidery
style from Lucknow, India. Literally translated, the word means embroidery.
Believed to have been introduced by Nur Jehan, Mughal emperor Jahangir s wife,[1]
it is one of Lucknow s most famous textile decoration styles.
There are several theories about the origin of Chikankari. Chikankari the process of
chikan was basically invented in Lucknow. It developed quickly during the period
when the Mughals ruled and consisted of styles inspired by Persians. Lucknow grew
into an international market for its renowned Chikankari work. There are references

KASHMIRI COLLECTION
Kashida of Kashmir
Kashmiri embroidery is well known for the beauty of its colour, texture, design and
technique. Probably, the best known Indian embroidery is the Kashida of Kashmir
. This embroidery is revealed in shawls and in cottage industry done by the
members of families in Srinagar. Kashmiri embroidery is practiced by men and it
is essentially a commercial craft.| | According to Ramala S. Dongekery, the shawl
industry in Kashmir was introduced by Zain ul Abedin. Akbar was also
responsible for introducing a new type of shawl the Dowshala meaning Twin
shawl . In this two similar shawls were woven together, then sewn back to back. So
the under surface of the shawls were not visible. Khwaja Yusuf during his stay in
Kashmir got the idea of producing shawls with help of Rafoogar . These were later
known as Amli Shawls . Amli shawls were plain woven shawls,

Pros And Cons Of Batman And Superman
Batman and Superman are DC s most valuable super heroes. They fight crime, help
those in need, and protect their cities. Truly that is hero, someone we should look up
to. Or is it? Today I was tasked with deciding whether or not, Batman and Superman
do more harm than good as role models and cultural icons. I have come to the
conclusion that they do more harm than good. It s important to note that I will be
basing most of my information on the Supermanand Batmanmovie. I have 3 main
reasons why I believe this, 1 they are not relatable, 2 they solve their problems
through violence, and 3 they are very dark. Let s begin with point one.
The first reason why I agree with the statement, As role models and cultural icons,
Batman and Superman do more harm than good. Is because of how unrelatable
they are to people. Starting with Superman, he is an alien from a different world.
He has powers that no one on earth can attain, unbreakable skin, laser eyes, the
ability to fly by himself, and X ray vision (Superman s). No one can relate to any of
those powers (Superman). Meanwhile, Batman is an orphan, who has billions of
dollars. Some people can relate with the loss of a loved one but very, very few have
access to even a million dollars. We look at them and see something that we can
never be. Batman and Superman are role models and cultural icons that do more harm
than good.
The second reason why Batman and Superman as role models and cultural icons do
more harm than good is because they solve the majority of their problems through
violence. Dr. Sharon Lamb states, Today s superherois too much like an action hero
who participates in non stop violence...rarely speaks to the virtue of doing good for
humanity, (Chivers). She is 100% correct in this. In the 2013 movie, Man of Steel,
our hero flies about destroying the city he swore to protect. Buildings fall, lives are
taken, and superman brings up no mention of any virtue by the end of the film. He
uses violence. This continues on in basically every show that includes him. Bad guy
shows up, does a bad thing, and Superman flies over, beats up the villain and wins
the day. Now we examine Batman. He does the exact same thing, gliding around his
city beating up crime and

Summary Of Lorraine Hansberry
Lorraine Hansberry, born May 19, 1930, made a very prominent contribution to
society in her short lived life. She was born to a middle class family as the
youngest of four children. Her father was a successful real estate broker who also
founded one of the first Negro banks in Chicago (Adams 247). Lorraine s mother was
a schoolteacher named Nannie Perry who later became a ward committeewoman.
In 1938, Lorraine s father took a stand against the real estate covenants in Chicago
due to the fact that they legally promoted housing discrimination. He chose to move
his family into a predominantly white neighborhood to prove his point and try to
make a change. The court case that resulted from this stand led to a lot of hostility
from those around the Hansberry family. There was a violent attack on the family s
home by a mob who threw bricks into the house while shouting. Even with this
reaction to the Hansberrys moving into the neighborhood, the family decided to stay
to stand their ground. The court case went all the way to the federal Supreme Court
where the ruling was that this kind of discrimination was unlawful. However,
Chicago continued restrictive covenants anyways and eventually the Hansberry
family was forced to move out of the neighborhood ( Lorraine Hansberry Gale).
Due to the Hansberry family s middle class status and the career choices of both of
her parents, Lorraine was exposed to many prominent African Americanpolitical and
cultural figures who she became well
Analysis Of Social Service Work Values
One of the social service work values required in this situation includes, service to
humanity (Ramsarran, 2015, p. 3). Referencing the text on the values and ethnics
of social service work provided during first semester, service to humanity focuses
on upholding service in the interest of others consistent with social justice
(Ramsarran, 2015, p. 3). It explores balancing one s own needs with the collective
needs of the people (Ramsarran, 2015, p. 3). Furthermore, it involves acting in a
professional capacity, placing professional service before personal goals or
advantage (Ramsarran, 2015, p. 3). The above is relevant to my situation in that I

Paula Scher, An American Graphic Designer Who Was Born
Paula Scher is an American graphic designer who was born October 6, 1948 in
Virginia and grew up in both Philadelphia and Washington D.C. She is not only a
graphic designer but a painter, art educator in design and also the first female

Is Global Warming True Or False
Global warning has been a highly debated issue over the years. It has come to the
forefront during the presidential debates as to whether global warning was true or
false. There is conflicting evidence to both sides of the argument but what remains to
be seen is who has the most accurate information and is it true? What is global
warming? It is described as a steady increase of the earths atmosphereusually
associated with the greenhouse effect which is caused by an increase in pollutants in
the atmosphere. One thing that is clear is that there is a problem with that climate.
The consensus is not sure as to whether it is caused by human influence or by
environmental influences has yet to be seen. The recent debates have stated that the
Descriptive Essay On The Curse
The Curse Which Still Lived
It was a depressing and grey afternoon. James had just turned twenty five, and as
adventurous as he was, he anxiously waited for a task. Next thing he knew, he has
found himself scrolling on an LED screen which entranced him as if he knew
nothing more. There he sat, alone in his dusty old room looking through various
websites for interesting locations near him. His fingers stopped with a jerk. A
picture of a castle intrigued him as he stared at the blinding screen. The location was
on an island north of Canada, only about an hour and a half from his hometown near
Nunavut. Four words caught his eyes underneath the section titled Description . The
curse never dies, it wrote. This didn t deter James in the slightest. The next morning
James pulled himself out of bed and got ready. The day was bright and warm with
very few clouds in the sky; the fresh scents of summer filled his nostrils as he
prepared to embark on this adventure. For one hour and thirty minutes James drove
through the constant stretch of road until he reached something. It was a boat
ramp, but something was off. The ramp had been consumed by the elements of

The Sports Industry Merged From Pure Athletic
Competition
The sports industry merged from pure athletic competition into a form of
entertainment long ago, combining the event itself with technology making it
available everywhere. Sports hold a valuable place in the integrated marketing of
entertainment content. The loyal fan base of each sport is a ready and willing target
for a wide variety of sponsorship, licensing and merchandising opportunities, as well
as convergence with other forms of entertainment, including television, movies and
games.
The sports industry can be divided into content (the activity or event itself), conduits
(the medium by which it is presented) and consumption (form in which to consume
the sport). Plus, convergence occurs across all platforms. Formula One (F1) ... Show

Conduit
According to F1 s official Global Broadcast Report, F1 has more than 200
broadcasters worldwide, televised in more than 185 countries and has an annual
cumulative audience of over 2.7 billion viewers. An average of 600 million
individual viewers watch each season during live broadcasts in the world s top 20
TV markets (Formula 1 Racing, 2015). Of course, this number only includes what we
know from a broadcasting perspective; with the addition of the Internet and mobile
media, the reach is nearly unknown. Consumers have various conduits in which they
can watch F1 races, including the live sporting venues, online (Wi Fi, Ethernet, the
Internet, Coaxial cable) or on television (digital transmission, TVRO, UHF, VHF, free
to air, cable).
Consumption
Consumers can now consume content through a wide variety of available resources.
The most common for Formula One is attending the live event at the assorted
racetracks across the globe. Many also use their computer or laptop to stream the
event online. Others will use their TV to view the event, though this can be limited
to certain channels. Channel Ten offers F1 live streaming through their free to air
channel and online via TenPlay. Fox Sports airs the practices, qualifying and final
races through paid TV (The Daily Telegraph, 2015). Applications, mobiles and
smartphones are also available to use.
Diabetes, The Fastest And Largest Growing Health Issue
Essay
Type 2 diabetes report: Samantha Johnstone
Does obesity contribute to a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes
Diabetes is the fastest and largest growing health issue in New Zealand. Diabetes is a
disease that has reached epidemic proportions internationally and within the New
Zealand community. It is the leading cause of blindness, kidney failure and lower
limb amputations. There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 (insulin dependent
diabetes mellitus) and type 2 (adult onset diabetes mellitus). An international study
carried out by a team of researchers working with the World Health Organisation
had found that New Zealand has one of the highest rates of diabetes. There is over
240,000 people in New Zealand who have been diagnosed with diabetes, most
having type 2, and the amount on both types is rising. If someone who has
diabetes cannot keep their glucose levels in an appropriate range, they can develop
a number of long term health problems including damaged vessels leading to
kidney failure, blindness, and damage of the nervous system. Type 2 diabetes is an
issue in my community as it can be life threatening. It is a crucial issue for New
Zealand, because it has such negative impact on New Zealand s society, including
creating issues with money in New Zealand. In 2008 there was a study about the
health care costs for New Zealanders with Type 2 Diabetes. It was around $540
million and it is predicted that these costs will increase to $1.78 billion by 2021. These
My Passion For Cheerleading
Carmen Chessa

ENG 096
Becoming a cheerleader at such a young age, being on the cheer mat became a
happy place for me. I spent thirteen out of my eighteen years of my life
cheerleading and it is definitely something that means a lot to me. Being on the
cheer mat whether at practice or at competition has taught me many life lessons that
I will cherish for the rest of my life. Having such caring and dedicated coaches made
my experience so special and unique. My passion for cheerleading shows
tremendously as soon as I step on the mat, and learning many life lessons from cheer
has shaped me into the person I am today.
In competitive cheerleading stunting is one of the most important things in a
cheer routine. Stunting is something every team wants to be the best at, but it
takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be the best. Throughout a majority of my
cheerleading career I was a base. A base is the girl at the bottom of the partner stunt
/pyramid who lifts up the flyer. I loved to base. I had lots of experience as a base and
it became very easy to me. Coming on to the high school competition cheer team as
a freshman, I knew there was a lot of new things I would have to learn as a base. I
was very motivated and dedicated to be the best base I could be and that took lots of
practice. The next year, coming onto the team as a sophomore my coaches had the
idea for me to become a flyer. Flying is something I have never done. I was very
nervous at first but I was
Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact Essay
Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact
Nobody knows for sure exactly how the dinosaurs became extinct. However scientists
have speculated for decades about possible events that caused the dinosaurs to die
out. Possibilities range from asteroids, to volcanoes, to climate changes. One of the
more popular or well known extinction theories involves the belief that an asteroid
struck the Earth, causing devastating effects, and triggering mass extinctions around
the end of the Cretaceous period.
The asteroid impact extinction theory began in 1980 with Luis and Walter Alvarez, a
father and son team. They theorized that an asteroid struck the Earth at the close of
the Cretaceous period, causing devastating effects and mass ... Show more content on

Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted
research on the Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken
from the asteroid site (Botzer 2004). These samples indicate that the impact that
occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, which
occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five million years ago.
Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years
before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the
Chicxulub asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts
about the exact age and size of the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami
deposits that were located within the crater (Keller 2004). The focus of Keller s
recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so she
analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the
Chicxulub crater (Keller 2004).
The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater
was deposited after the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other
species. Keller proposes two possible explanations for this. The first explanation is
that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a giant tsunami that occurred
after the impact (Keller 2004).
360 Degree Feedback Survey
360 degree feedback is a method and a tool that provides each employee the
opportunity to receive performance feedback from his or her supervisor and four
to eight peers, reporting staff members, coworkers and customers (Susan M.
Heathfield. N/A). X amount of people will fill up an anonymous online or paper
feedback form that holds questions with a wide range of workplace capabilities.
These forms include questions which are measured on a rating scale and ask to
provide comments. The person who is receiving feedback also has to fill out a self
evaluating survey which includes the same survey questions that others receive in
their forms. 360 degree feedback survey can be used in order to understand
managers/leaders strengths and weaknesses. The 360 degree feedback system can
be used to formulate a tabulated form, from where the manager/leader can obtain
critical information from him /herself in order to create a development plan. As
the person who receives the feedback is asked to fill out a self evaluating survey, his
responses will be always com bined with other people s responses, in order to
achieve more accurate knowledge for the possible development areas. People who
are not in a management role will use the 360 degree Feedback as a de velopment
tool. An employee who is not in manager position is not measuring 360 de gree
feedbacks but they will still follow the same principles. These employees can use the
feedback gotten from the 360 degree feedback, if they hope

Importance of Chain of Command Essay
Importance of utilizing chain of command
The chain of the command defines the relationship of juniors and seniors within navy
organization. An effective chain of command is essential for the navy to carry out its
mission. Good leadership supports an effective chain of command.
The chain of command serves several purposes in the accomplishment of the Navy s
mission. It defines responsibilities and identifies accountability. Properly used, it

The USAF and CAP are both organized to permit the chain of command concept to
allow information to flow both ways throughout each organization. For that reason, it
is imperative that all members follow their chain of command at all times
The chain of command is responsible to each Navy member for solving work
related problems. When a person s immediate senior is unable to resolve a problem
, the next senior in the chain of command tries to solve the problem. If the senior at
that level of command is unable to resolve the problem, it then goes to the next level
in the chain of command. The problem continues to be referred to each level in the
chain of command until it is resolved. You must always use the chain of command
when seeking solutions to work related problems.
, the chain of command is the line of authority and responsibility along which orders
are passed within a military unit and between different units. Orders are transmitted
down the chain of command, from a higher ranked soldier, such as a commissioned
officer, to lower ranked personnel who either execute the order personally or transmit
it down the chain as appropriate, until it is received by those expected to execute it.
In general, military personnel give orders only to

World War II was the mightiest struggle mankind has ever seen. It killed more

The first and most important issue was that of religion. Due to its history of
conflict, it was important for all religions to be tolerated and for all to have equal
rights. In Austria, Prussia and Russia, toleration of religious difference was
encouraged, leading to religion becoming a personal matter, and allowed them to
move onto more beneficial dealings (Document 1, 2, 12). Another large step
towards achieving equality for everyone was to remove the power that the church
and the aristocracy held. This was done by toleration of religion and idea that the
upper class was selfish and holding the people back from their potential of
advancement. As a result, both of these lost the large amount of influence that they
held over the people (Document 9). Equality was carried over to immigrants as
well. Anyone who settled in Russia were required to follow the same laws as
everyone else in the country. However, they were not required for perform extra civil
duties or pay extra taxes than the born citizens did with the requirement that they take
up agriculture or form a business to help the nation (Document 5). In Austria, Joseph
II believed that everyone should work to contribute to everyone s benefit, and not just
one s own (Document 11). In this way, equality led to furthered advancements in

Visual Culture Of The First Three Lectures
Assignment 1
a) On the basis of the first three lectures provide three images of visual culture and
use them to describe what visual culture is.
Visual culture describes the aspects, things and objects, in our world made to be
looked at. It is most often associated with art however could include advertisements,
books, buildings etc.
Figure 1 is a photograph of the facade of the Portal of Last Judgement, Notre Dame.
The carving is a representation of a she devil urinating on a cardinal, pope, and a
king. This is an example of visual culture as its purpose is to be viewed. This carving
dates back to the early 13th century before the new technologies of vision. With the
introduction of photography, television and social media coupled with the boom of
consumerism, contemporary visual culture was born.
Contemporary visual culture involves an extremely broad range of mediums due to
the technology at hand today. With computer technology, artists are capable of
manipulating and creating images in ways that were once inconceivable. Figure 2
was made digitally in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop . This image demonstrates
how contemporary visual culture has morphed from traditional mediums such as
painting and sculpting, into something more commercial and easy to circulate.
Figure 2 is an album cover designed to be easily recognisable, it s been made as

Hemingway lived in a six bedroom Victorian house built by Ernest s widowed

Zellweger Syndrome Research Paper
Zellweger syndrome (ZS), neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy (NALD), X linked
adrenoleukodystrophy (X ALD), and infantile Refsum disease (IRD) are the four
main peroxisomal disorders classified by the absence, or a defect in, specific
peroxisomal proteins. Zellweger syndrome is considered the most severe of the four
most studied peroxisomal disorders, causing a faster and earlier death. Lacking or
having defective peroxisomal proteins is especially problematic due to the many
functions specific to this organelle such as the breakdown of fatty acids, production
of lipids for the nervous system and digestion, and functioning in development of the
brain. Peroxisomes contain no DNA, causing all of its defects to be mutations of
nuclear genes. This is significant because, as we ll learn later in this class, nuclear
genes code for peroxisomal proteins which are synthesized on cytoplasmic ribosomes
to later be imported into the peroxisome. Without proper formation, these proteins
will not enter the peroxisomes and remain functionless in the cytosol. Some
individuals can still have peroxisomes detected in their cells, but they are non
functional or cannot properly carry out their duties without the assistance... Show

India are socially differentiated through classes, religions, regions, tribes, genders,
and languages. Caste is a term which is used to specify a group of people having a
specific rank. The Indian term for caste is jati and generally designates a group that
can vary in size from a handful to many thousands. The various jati are traditionally
arranged in hierarchical order and fit into one of the four basic varnas Brahmins,
Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Sudras. Each castehad a clearly defined role. Members of
each caste were obligated to look after one another, so each caste had its own
support system. This paper describes the role of each varnas in the society.
Caste systems played a significant role in the Indian social structure. Brahmins were
the top of the caste system, and they were the priests, teachers, and judges who
understood dharma very well. Dharma was the spiritual laws that govern the
universe. The Brahmins served as the spiritual guides and teachers of the Kshatriya
princes and warriors and preached to the political and military elites about the
dharma. They often lived apart from the rest of society in temples. They were
minorities in the society, but they were the highest class in caste. According to author
Yadav, the Brahmins comprised three percent of the population and were ritually
placed at the top of the caste pyramid. They have historically dominated social,
cultural, and
Macbeth Consequences
Every action has a consequence
Every action has a consequence, this statement relates to Shakespeare s play
Macbeth , as Macbeth is a tragic hero who destroys himself by his own wicked and
selfish ambitions. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is portrayed as a
courageous, noble hero of Scotland who has bravely won victory over the war. After
this win, Macbeth and Banquo come across three supernatural beings who
prophesies Macbeth s rein as king of Scotland. As the story unfolds, the witches
prophecy is proven to be correct and Macbeth soon becomes a tyrant king who is
willing to murder anyone who will bring his rein to an end. Macbeth s spouse, lady
Macbeth is also shown destroying her reputation of a noble woman through her
barbaric actions. The statement every action has a consequence also correlates to the
film the lion king directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff. The similarities of
scars reckless actions to lead Simba and Mufasa (the king) into a stampede of
wildebeests that ended in the death of Mufasa, is what led to scars downfall and
death. Therefore, Shakespeare play Macbeth implements the statement every action
has a consequence through various ways, many similar to the film the lion king.
Macbeth s actions are what lead to the consequence of death. His first significant
choice that lead up to his fatal consequence was to kill king Duncan. This ambition
originated in the early stages of the text when the witches caught the heroes attention

Why Is The City Important In The London City
Sarah Snyder
Mrs. Burrow

English
London Landmarks The city of London is filled with landmarks that bring history and
culture to the city. There are many landmarks throughout London in general, however
I am focusing on three specific ones: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and London Eye.
The Buckingham Palace and Big Ben have a great historical background, while the
London Eye is visited by tourists for leisure. All three of these landmarks are
usually considered to be in the top five landmarks of most popular in the city. For
this reason, it brings a lot of money into the city as well. Buckingham Palace was
the headquarters for administration however is now used for the Monarchy. The
Buckingham Palace is open to visitors; however, limited only to the public by
summer, very few tours in the winter months, and at Easter every year. It has 775
rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff
bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. (Goodey) It holds many royal events and
ceremonies. Each year more than 50,000 people visit the Buckingham Palace by
invite for events such as State banquets, lunches, dinners, receptions, and Garden
Parties. (Goodey) It is an office for the Head of State, and a home to The Queen.
(Goodey) This is why so many tourists adore this sight; it is home to one of the
world s most adorned people, The Queen of England. Not only does it house the
notorious Queen of England, it also has much historical
The Perfect Body
Lock, M. and V. K. Nguyen 2010. The Normal Body in An Anthropology of
Biomedicine, UK: Wiley Blackwell, pp 32 56. Example 1: normal embodiment of
the body or The Perfect Body : The 2014 underwear campaign The Perfect Body
launched by Victoria s Secret demonstrates the comercially marketable idea of a
normal body. The knowledge produced about the idea in this case of the normal
body is a standarization female of ideals within modern society. This image is a
representation of the embodiment by society of what an ideal female should look
like and is reflected into this Victoria s Secret advertisement campaign. Drawing on
Lock and Nguyen s (2010) discussion on the natural body this advertisement
presents a powerful example of how an ideal persists as the body is objectified to
conform to a societal ideal in social representations. It also suggests tht the body is
a homogenious space , women are classified and objectified and placed in a category
and this is what the perfect body looks like. The advertisement campaign solidifies
that ideal with the slogan The Perfect Body and does not demonstrate a truthful
depiction of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again the normalisation and idea of standardisation put forward by Lock and
Nguyeon (2010) contributes to the embodiment of usage. By constantly exposing the
population to an action or behaviour they will eventually become used to it and no
longer stigmatise it. Therefore as more violent images are used in everyday media
the population becomes more accepting. (p32 33, 37 38) Futher reading:
Personal Narrative-Dale
It may be hard to believe, but I wasn t always this bald and beautiful. I, like many
other young men, was a victim of a vicious receding hairline. Me being so young, I
fell victim to a plethora of cruel jokes, I mean let s face it, not many sixteen year
old girls swoon over a young boy with the hairline like their fathers. I was
constantly ragged on by family, friends, strangers, and anyone else with a working
pair of eyes. Thus, I grew to be very self conscious about my hairline, or lack
thereof. Then that all changed one day with a mirror and a razor. Looking back at
it, I can t help but laugh and smile when I think about the days when all I wanted
was a full head of hair. My hairline has been receding since I was around sixteen
years old, I have my grandfather to thank for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That would have been normal, nothing new if it weren t for Desiree walking by at
that moment. You ever hear of Bosley? Dale said, seemingly screaming in fun
competition with Nick. As Desiree walked past I heard a light giggle escape her
mouth. The giggle could have been a result of countless conversations happening
around her, but I couldn t help to assume it was directed towards me. I ll never
forget that gut wrenching feeling of being laughed at by a pretty girl, for something I
couldn t control. I was already at a very awkward stage in life, transitioning from
middle to high school when your body is going through endless transformations. Not
only was I a pimple faced teenager, I was balding, and that s a recipe for disaster. I
did my best to cover up the fact I was balding. I learned valuable tricks of the trade,
for example, when I got a haircut I d always keep the top long and get the side cut
short so I could hide my receding hairline, but none of the tricks worked I d still get

The Jewish Religion Summary
The Jewish Question examines the criticism of Karl Marx against Bauer and his
theory on the emancipation of the Jewish people. Bauer proposes the question of the
relationship of religion to the state, examining religious prejudice and political
emancipation (p. 48). In this context, Bauer addresses the need for emancipation for
both the Jewish people and the state. Ultimately arriving at the idea that Jewish
people must choose between a political life and a religious one. However, Marx
criticizes Bauer s argument due to its failure to address the varying degrees between
political emancipation and human emancipation.
Marx s argument against Bauer and his theory of political emancipation is correlated
with the continued existence of religion.
Nfl Head Collisions
Football is a sport beloved by Americans. Millions of boys from a young age enjoy
playing football from recreational to dreaming of the NFL. Whether these boys end
up play for their school team or the NFL, all levels of players experience head
collisions. Recently, many people have questioned the severity of these head injuries,
or concussions, induced by playing footballand their lasting effects.
A team of researchers and engineers at the University of Michigan undertook a four
year challenge sponsored by the NFL to create a helmet with better protection from
brain injuries from sports. Current helmets worn by football players, including the
pros, reduce the force put on the skull during a collision. However, the current

Urban Regeneration in the London Docklands Essay
Urban Regeneration in the London Docklands
The London Docklands Development Corporation is located along the River Thames
Estuary
2.a) The London Docklands had to close for many reasons. The main reason was
the Second World War. The area suffered substantial bomb damage in the Second
World War, which lead to the need for a substantial rebuilding programme. In the
first 20 years after the Second World War, many buildings came to the end of their
usefulness. A number of factors contributed to the decline in the importance of the
Docklands. London was no longer the centre of world trade and so much of the dock
space and warehousing was no longer needed. Some manufacturing activities were ...

These responsibilities included the reclamation of land, the provision of transport
infrastructure, environmental improvement and the attraction of private sector
investment. The LDDC acquired land and promoted transport development in the
form of the Docklands Light Railway and London City Airport to attract
development and fill up the Isle of Dogs. The LDDC had four aims that they
wanted to achieve in the Docklands. They were basically to improve the economic,
social and physical aspects of the area. To improve the economic aspect of the
area, they had to create jobs for the unemployed who were living in the Docklands.
To do this, they had to bring in major companies. The LDDC decided to provide a
good infrastructure to the area. They provided the gas, electric and roads. Transport
was a main problem, so ВЈ600 million was spent on transport, and another ВЈ300
million on just the Docklands Railway.
3. a) Many office buildings were built, including Canary Wharf. Large newspaper
companies were attracted to the Docklands, away from Fleet Street because of the
new Canary Wharf building. This is one of the tallest buildings in England, at 800ft
high and boasting 50 stories. Companies were attracted to Canary Wharf because of
the quality of it with air conditioning, deep floors, and open office space. Building
space in London was short and expensive.
General Aviation Safety Security Practices
General Aviation Safety and
Security Practices
Capt. ELhadi Y. Nour
AM 645
March /20/2010
SUMMARY Over the past 40 years, safety in the general aviation arena has greatly
improved. The reasons are many and include improved aircraft reliability, pilot
training enhancements, and better weather reporting capabilities. One often
overlooked contributor to this safety record is the contribution made on the ground
by general aviation airport operators, as well as those fixed base operators (FBOs)
who service general aviation aircraft. In addition, often included as an aspect of
aviation safety but different in both its planning and response, is airport security.
Since 2001, airport security has been the primary ... Show more content on

In the initial uncertainty of the post 9/11 aviation security world many different
aviation groups worked to develop security guidelines for general aviation airports.
This was done in an effort to be proactive and give the airport community a baseline
from which to establish its own set of operating practices. These guidelines ranged
in complexity from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association s (AOPA) Airport
Watch Program, to Security Planning for General Aviation Airports (2004)
developed by the Florida Airports Council, to the Terrorism Protective Measures
Resource Guide (2005) assembled by the state of Colorado s Office of Preparedness
and Security, and ultimately the TSA s Security Guidelines for General Aviation
Airports (2004). There appears to be operational and procedural overlap in all of
these documents; however, each offers a unique viewpoint developed from their own
perspectives.
CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTED RESEARCH
Airports, fixed base operators (FBOs), and other entities at general aviation airports
approach safety and security seriously. The general aviation community has adapted
to the safety needs of its users over the years and reduced accident/ incident statistics
are a direct result of this action. On the security side of the equation the industry has
been quick to adopt the new reality of increased security at airports without the need
for regulation. All of this is
Causes Of The Loss Of Bees
All kinds of honey bees perform about 80 percent of all pollination in the world.
One bee colony alone can pollinate 300 million flowers each day. Not everything
but most fruits, nuts and vegetables are pollinated by bees. 70% human food crops
which supply about 90 percent of the world s nutrition are pollinated by bees. The
loss of bees in America has greatly affected agricultureand humans both. CCD,
colony collapse disorder which is syndrome defined as a dead colony with no adult
bees or dead bee bodies but with a live queen and usually honeyand immature bees
still present.
Most sources say that causes of major bee loss are unknown but Greenpeace says that
that s not true. Some reasons they listed include pesticides, drought, habitat
destruction , air pollution, nutrition deficit, global warming, and more. Reproduction
naturally slows in the winter months and the population can decrease from five to

As of October 2015, the rapid loss of bees has been deemed an urgent crisis. There
had been a monetary loss of thirty billion dollars a year. The USDA issued three
million dollar investment in farmer s aid is nothing compared to what s been lost.
Some more obvious effects of bee loss would be lack of food for the whole planet. A
majority of humans could become malnourished. Crops will become scarce. The
effects of the loss of bees could be catastrophic and we will slowly but surely run out
of food unless we come up with some fake electronic stuff or ,and more likely, save

The Three Peers Sparknotes
The story of The Three Musketeers, by Alexandre Dumas, follows the epic tale of
D Artagnan, a young and noble man who is incredibly skilled with a sword, and
his quest to become a member of the the Musketeers. He later meets three other
musketeers who aid him in his journey, one of which is far more mysterious and
saddened than the rest named Athos who later reveals that he was hurt by a woman
who used love to blind him of her true intention to steal from his family. Through D
artagnan s journey, he uses similar tactics on several women to gather information on
the whereabouts of his kidnapped mistress and quickly neglects them and their
feelings. When he finally finds her, she is laying on the floor poisoned by one of the

This idea of the main character being so close to achieving love but falling short
causes the theme of love being rare to illuminate. Alexandre Dumas conjured
characters, D Artagnan and Athos, help depict his vision of love being something
that hurts the lover through the use of character personality. Athos, the mysterious
musketeer, drinks solemnly while his companions laugh and make jokes, and
despite his age being much younger than his companions, he acts much older and
mature. For the longest time there was no explanation for his troubles until he
finally spills his past about his one and only lover. After explaining that the woman
he loved deceived him for his riches he explains, I tied her hands behind her back
and hung her from a tree. I murdered her. That cured me me of beautiful, poetic and
amorous women (253). From upon initial confrontation to Athos, the reader finally
understands the reasons for Athos contrasting personalities with his friends. He
poured his love out for another women who used it to blind him of her true
intentions. He kills his love and is permanently scarred in terms of his character
being forever changed to the dark and saddened man the reader sees today. Not only
do we see that love is a force that hurts but also the character again see s how rare
love truly is. D Artagnan is not invulnerable to love s ability to hurt either. Though
throughout the novel, D Artagnan s composure is a headstrong,

What Is Wikipedia Inaccurate
It is an age of the online encyclopedia. Wikipedia, the largest online encyclopedia in
today s world, has already changed the way people access information to some
extent. The online encyclopedia is not only just the digital edition of traditional
encyclopedia but also every user of it can contribute materials (Murgia). This
collaborative modification feature of Wikipediahas already been widely accepted by
many people. Every month, Wikipedia has more than 18 billion page views on
average and nearly 500 million unique visitors. (Anderson, Hitlin and Atkinson).
Roughly 75,000 volunteers edit and write articles on Wikipedia every month
(Cohen). However, the prosperity of the online encyclopedia has been accompanied
with a decline of traditional... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people claim that information on online encyclopedias such as Wikipedia may
be inaccurate because the contributors are anonymous (Seigenthaler). Many
anonymous writers may lack the required academic background or related
experience to write credible articles. Articles that are written by non academic
writers may contain factual errors or unverified information. Moreover, articles that
are edited by unprofessional editors may not present the intended ideas clearly or the
articles may not to be structured properly. Furthermore, the free editing also reduces
the information accuracy. Because any user can edit content, some articles may not
hold a neutral point of view. Articles may contain the author s personal political
beliefs, religious beliefs and bias. Also, because every user can edit content, hackers
and amoral users may use this opportunity to create false information to deceive
people. Compared with the online encyclopedia, the accuracy of traditional printed
encyclopedia seems to be much higher. For example, the articles in the encyclopedia
Britannica were written by a staff of about 100 full time editors and more than 4,000
expert contributors (Simonson). Not everyone has the chance to write on the
traditional printed encyclopedia; hence, the information on it is much more

The difficulty arises from the vast array of theories available, each offering unique perspectives on the complex process of human development. To begin with, one must delve into the historical roots of these theories, understanding the evolving ideologies that have shaped our comprehension of human growth. The process involves a meticulous examination of foundational theorists such as Freud, Erikson, Piaget, and Kohlberg, among others, each contributing pivotal concepts to the discourse. The challenge lies in synthesizing these diverse perspectives into a coherent narrative, navigating through the nuances and contradictions that may emerge. Cut edge: Let G= (V, E) be a connected graph, an edge E Пµ G is called a cut edge of graph G, if G E result in a disconnected graph G. 3.29. Euler graph: A connected graph G=(V, E) is said to be Euler graph (traversable), if there exists a path which includes, (which contains each edge of the graph G exactly once) and each vertex at least once (if we can draw the graph on a plain paper without repeating any edge or letting the pen). Traffic Signal Lights: To study the traffic control problem at an arbitrary point of intersection, it has to be modeled mathematically by using a simple graph for the traffic accumulation data problem. The set of edges of the rudimentary graph will represent the communication link between the set of nodes at an intersection. In the graph stand for the traffic control problem, the traffic streams which may move at the same time at an intersection without any difference will be joined by an edge and the streams which cannot move together will not be connected by an edge. The functioning of traffic lights i.e. turning Green/Red/Yellow lights and timing between them. Here vertex coloring technique is utilised to solve contravenes of time and space by identifying the chromatic number for the number of cycles needed. 4.3. Social Networks: We connect with friends via social media or a video gets viral, here user is a Vertex and other connected users produce an edge, therefore videos get viral when reached to certain connections. In sociology, economics, political science, medicine, social biology, psychology, anthropology, history, and related fields, one often wants to study a society by examining the structure of connections within the society. • 3. The Importance Of Running To Change The Rules Running to change the rules Should the International Olympic Committee ( I.O.C) change the rules for runners that aren t as tall or not as great in physical conditions, i would say no. i think it will make the game even more unfair than it would be if they kept it the same. How will the I.O.C. decide whether or not someone is not in good physical condition. Famous runners like usain bolt ( who is considered the fastest runner in the world)would not be getting first place if they were to change the rules. But why would the scores be different? • 5. Nt1330 Unit 1 Assignment 1 5.OS Hardening Hardening the OS is an important step because it reduces the attack surface and opportunities for hackers to get into the system. The Linux Security Checklist from SANS has basic step by step guidance one can follow in securing an OS (Homsher Evans, n.d.). 5.1.Never run Jenkins with root /administrator privileges One should never run with administrator or root privileges regardless of the operating system platform. If a hacker manages to get in, he or she will still need to find ways to perform privilege escalation to cause more harm. Hopefully, this buys enough time for security professionals within the company to notice abnormal behavior and take action. In addition to not running with administrator or root privileges, implement least privileges by removing sudoer access to the account that Jenkins uses (Mutch Anderson, 2011, p.90). Jenkins master installed on Linux never need sudo access. On Windows, make sure Jenkins user only belongs to Users group. Mac OSX should run Jenkins as Standard User because they are not allowed sudo access by default. The same rules apply to Jenkins nodes because applications such as a compiler or automated testing run fine with non administrator privileges. The goal here is to minimize attack surfaces by taking away administrator privileges when access is not required in the first place. Implementing the principal of least privileges can reduce the damage caused by compromised account by as much as 86%

When President Ronald Reagan nominated Sandra Day O Connor in 1981 to be the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court, he did soto keep a campaign promise. O Connor s nomination was quick to draw criticism from both the political people left and right. Conservatives put down her lack of federal judicial experience and claimed that she didn t have any constitutional knowledge. They considered her a wasted nomination and suspected her position on abortion. Liberals, on the other hand, could not deny their satisfaction at seeing a woman on the High Court, but they were disappointed in O Connor s apparent lack of strong support for... No law firm in California wanted to hire her and only one offered her a position as a legal secretary. Ironically, a senior partner of that firm, William French Smith, helped O Connor s nomination to the Supreme Court years later as the Attorney General. Failing to find suitable work in private practice, O Connor turned to public service. She accepted a job as the deputy county attorney for San Mateo, California. When O Connor s husband graduated from Stanford a year later, the army immediately drafted him into the Judge Advocate General Corps. John O Connor served in Frankfurt, Germany, for three years with Sandra by his side. While in Germany, Sandra served as a civilian lawyer in the Quartermaster s Corps. When the O Connors returned to the U.S. in 1957, they decided to settle down in Phoenix, Arizona. They had their three sons in the six years that followed. O Connor again found it difficult to obtain a position with any law firm so she decided to start her own firm with a single partner. She practiced a wide variety of small cases in her early days as a lawyer since she lacked specialization and an established reputation. After she gave birth to her second son, O Connor withdrew from work temporarily to care for her children. She became involved in many volunteer activities during this time. She devoted much of her time to the Arizona State

If changes occur that remove the enzyme out of this range, it may not function effectively. This principle forms the basis of this experimental design where the increasing temperature results in the denaturing of the enzymes found in bromelain and thus lowering its catalytic effectiveness. Tomorrow When The War Began Analysis Tomorrow When the War Began In the novel Tomorrow When the War Began written by John Marsden, we as the readers are asked a continuous question, would you love someone to the point where you would sacrifice your life for their safety? Marsden helps us understand love, innocence and maturity through the way he outlines this question in his novel. • 14. Pros And Cons Of Batman And Superman Batman and Superman are DC s most valuable super heroes. They fight crime, help those in need, and protect their cities. Truly that is hero, someone we should look up to. Or is it? Today I was tasked with deciding whether or not, Batman and Superman do more harm than good as role models and cultural icons. I have come to the conclusion that they do more harm than good. It s important to note that I will be basing most of my information on the Supermanand Batmanmovie. I have 3 main reasons why I believe this, 1 they are not relatable, 2 they solve their problems through violence, and 3 they are very dark. Let s begin with point one. The first reason why I agree with the statement, As role models and cultural icons, Batman and Superman do more harm than good. Is because of how unrelatable they are to people. Starting with Superman, he is an alien from a different world. He has powers that no one on earth can attain, unbreakable skin, laser eyes, the ability to fly by himself, and X ray vision (Superman s). No one can relate to any of those powers (Superman). Meanwhile, Batman is an orphan, who has billions of dollars. Some people can relate with the loss of a loved one but very, very few have access to even a million dollars. We look at them and see something that we can never be. Batman and Superman are role models and cultural icons that do more harm than good. The second reason why Batman and Superman as role models and cultural icons do more harm than good is because they solve the majority of their problems through violence. Dr. Sharon Lamb states, Today s superherois too much like an action hero who participates in non stop violence...rarely speaks to the virtue of doing good for humanity, (Chivers). She is 100% correct in this. In the 2013 movie, Man of Steel, our hero flies about destroying the city he swore to protect. Buildings fall, lives are taken, and superman brings up no mention of any virtue by the end of the film. He uses violence. This continues on in basically every show that includes him. Bad guy shows up, does a bad thing, and Superman flies over, beats up the villain and wins the day. Now we examine Batman. He does the exact same thing, gliding around his city beating up crime and

There was a violent attack on the family s home by a mob who threw bricks into the house while shouting. Even with this reaction to the Hansberrys moving into the neighborhood, the family decided to stay to stand their ground. The next morning James pulled himself out of bed and got ready. For one hour and thirty minutes James drove through the constant stretch of road until he reached something. It was a boat ramp, but something was off. The ramp had been consumed by the elements of nature and time and floating near the ramp was an old wooden paddle boat engraved with the words Katherine Rogers on the side. It seemed to have been there only a couple weeks. James carefully boarded the small paddle boat and made his way north, where at a distance, a island could be spotted with a castle like structure

Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted research on the Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken from the asteroid site (Botzer 2004). These samples indicate that the impact that occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, which occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five million years ago. Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the Chicxulub asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts about the exact age and size of the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami deposits that were located within the crater (Keller 2004). The focus of Keller s recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so she analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the Chicxulub crater (Keller 2004). The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater was deposited after the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other species. Keller proposes two possible explanations for this. The first explanation is that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a giant tsunami that occurred after the impact (Keller 2004).

Due to its history of conflict, it was important for all religions to be tolerated and for all to have equal rights. In Austria, Prussia and Russia, toleration of religious difference was encouraged, leading to religion becoming a personal matter, and allowed them to move onto more beneficial dealings (Document 1, 2, 12). Another large step towards achieving equality for everyone was to remove the power that the church and the aristocracy held. This was done by toleration of religion and idea that the upper class was selfish and holding the people back from their potential of advancement. As a result, both of these lost the large amount of influence that they held over the people (Document 9). Equality was carried over to immigrants as well. Anyone who settled in Russia were required to follow the same laws as everyone else in the country. However, they were not required for perform extra civil duties or pay extra taxes than the born citizens did with the requirement that they take up agriculture or form a business to help the nation (Document 5). In Austria, Joseph II believed that everyone should work to contribute to everyone s benefit, and not just one s own (Document 11). In this way, equality led to furthered advancements in economy as

Zellweger Syndrome Research Paper Zellweger syndrome (ZS), neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy (NALD), X linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X ALD), and infantile Refsum disease (IRD) are the four main peroxisomal disorders classified by the absence, or a defect in, specific peroxisomal proteins. Zellweger syndrome is considered the most severe of the four most studied peroxisomal disorders, causing a faster and earlier death. Lacking or having defective peroxisomal proteins is especially problematic due to the many functions specific to this organelle such as the breakdown of fatty acids, production of lipids for the nervous system and digestion, and functioning in development of the brain. Peroxisomes contain no DNA, causing all of its defects to be mutations of nuclear genes. This is significant because, as we ll learn later in this class, nuclear genes code for peroxisomal proteins which are synthesized on cytoplasmic ribosomes to later be imported into the peroxisome. Without proper formation, these proteins will not enter the peroxisomes and remain functionless in the cytosol. Some individuals can still have peroxisomes detected in their cells, but they are non functional or cannot properly carry out their duties without the assistance... One often overlooked contributor to this safety record is the contribution made on the ground by general aviation airport operators, as well as those fixed base operators (FBOs) who service general aviation aircraft. These guidelines ranged in complexity from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association s (AOPA) Airport Watch Program, to Security Planning for General Aviation Airports (2004) developed by the Florida Airports Council, to the Terrorism Protective Measures Resource Guide (2005) assembled by the state of Colorado s Office of Preparedness and Security, and ultimately the TSA s Security Guidelines for General Aviation Airports (2004). The online encyclopedia is not only just the digital edition of traditional encyclopedia but also every user of it can contribute materials (Murgia). This collaborative modification feature of Wikipediahas already been widely accepted by many people. Every month, Wikipedia has more than 18 billion page views on average and nearly 500 million unique visitors. (Anderson, Hitlin and Atkinson). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people claim that information on online encyclopedias such as Wikipedia may be inaccurate because the contributors are anonymous (Seigenthaler). Many anonymous writers may lack the required academic background or related experience to write credible articles. Moreover, articles that are edited by unprofessional editors may not present the intended ideas clearly or the articles may not to be structured properly. Furthermore, the free editing also reduces the information accuracy. Because any user can edit content, some articles may not hold a neutral point of view. Articles may contain the author s personal political beliefs, religious beliefs and bias. Also, because every user can edit content, hackers and amoral users may use this opportunity to create false information to deceive people. Compared with the online encyclopedia, the accuracy of traditional printed encyclopedia seems to be much higher. For example, the articles in the encyclopedia Britannica were written by a staff of about 100 full time editors and more than 4,000 expert contributors (Simonson). Not everyone has the chance to write on the traditional printed encyclopedia; hence, the information on it is much more
