What Is Working Towards A Solution Essay
Working towards a solution
Personal Level
Working towards a solution needs to start at the personal level because in order to change the
world, individuals need to first be willing to change themselves. There are many opportunities to
participate on a personal level to help combat hunger. One way to personally fight hunger and
increase food security is to grow your own produce and produce for your neighbor. By growing
personal vegetables, reliance on grocery stores for fresh produce is taken out of the picture. Less
waste is produced when food is personally grown and it is inexpensive. Serving food at a homeless
shelter or food pantry nearby is another personal way to get involved. Volunteering time is

2017) . The restaurant offers fresh food prepared from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. It
is expected that if a person regularly eats a meal at Bistro163 and cannot pay, they should
volunteer their time as a payment. It is also an expectation that patrons pay more than the
suggested price in order to help others have a meal. It is a pay it forward system. Places like
Bistro163 address hunger in a dignified manner while at the same time building relationships
throughout the community. If more communities adopted this idea, areas of food insecurity could
turn into places where worrying about food becomes a thing of the past.
National Level
Communities that work together can create a difference within their own town or state and also
on a national level. Natural disasters have a big impact on people and food security, so providing
emergency assistance is one way a person could have a national effect on fighting hunger.
Currently in the US, many people are facing the effects of hurricane s firsthand. A hurricane makes
it challenging for travel, leaving grocery stores empty and poorly stocked. Many people are willing
to volunteer and travel to places of natural disaster to provide aid to those in need. Organizations
such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) respond to natural or civil disasters of
such magnitude that a community cannot possibly recover on their

Heroism Essay
What is heroism? Things preformed Superman, Batman, or The Flash? This is what most people
think about when they hear the word hero or heroism. Although these characters show heroism, the
definition of heroism does not have to be narrowed to the stereotypical hero. Many people have
different concepts on heroism. A herocan be a ordinary person like a firefighter or cop. Heroism is a
attribute that a person can obtain but they have to choose actions that help others like a fearless
firefighter or cop helping others. Heroism also does not call for a reward for being heroic. Heroism
is a quality or an act in all of us that a person uses to benefit for the good of other people even if
there is a risk. Heroism makes society a better place.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also shows heros care for others shown in sociocentrism instead of being egocentric. This means
that a hero is more concerned about others instead of having egocentrism and only caring for their
own wants. Heroes tone down the evil in the world by being taking more action and caring for
other people instead of themselves.
The quality of heroism can be shown in the everyday life and people. George Bernard Shaw a
playwright and a public figure said, Every reasonable man (and woman) is a potential scoundrel
and a potential good citizen. What a man is depends upon his character; what a man does, and what
we think of what he does, depends upon his circumstances (Shaw). When you see your peers
they might not look special or have superpowers that can save the whole galaxy from an evil
demon. Although they can still show heroism that you might not see or notice. In addition to
heroism being in most people it can also be faint. Arthur Ashe who was a inspiration to many
from being the first black player selected to the United States Davis Cup team states, True heroism
is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but
the urge to serve others at whatever cost (Ashe). This quote displays that heroism can be a subtle
act that doesn t have to expressed greatly but puts others before yourself. This also shows that
heroism does not have to be publicly announced. This quality

How Did The New Deal Affect The Federal Government
Amid the Great Depression, the role of the government altered enormously. Prior to the Depression
hit, the government did close to nothing or nothing at all to assistance individuals monetarily. This
was not seen as something the administration should do. With the Depression came an adjustment
in this discernment. President Roosevelt s New Dealmade government in charge of peopling from
numerous points of view. These courses run from ensuring that they would not lose cash they had
stored in banks (FDIC) to guaranteeing that they would have cash to live on after they resigned
(Social Security). When all is said in done, the New Deal brought on another part for government,
one in which the legislature did significantly more to help people monetarily.
There are numerous history specialists who see the New Deal approaches of President Franklin D.
Roosevelt as the start of the social welfare arrangement of the Federal Government. Amid the Great
Depression, there were numerous men who had no employments; thus, their families endured
hardship and yearning. The New Deal projects were a progression of local projects, for example,

What is collectively recognized is the manner by which it changed the part of the national
government. All in all, most Americans now anticipate that the national government will manage
the economy, accommodate those that battle, and essentially be occupied with the requirements of
its natives. Before the New Deal, residents looked towards nearby governments to aid critical
crossroads. After the New Deal, many look to Washington. There are numerous cases of
government projects that would not exist in the event that it were not for the priority set by the
New Deal. Programs like school help, veteran s advantages, Medicare, Medicaid, and government
interests in expressions and sciences are all extraordinary

Hardships In My Life
C.S. Lewis once said, Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.
Everyone at one point or another faces some sort of hardship in their life. No matter how big the
hardship is, how the overcome it tells a lot about them as a person. Throughout my life I had
very few difficulties. I consider myself lucky to have the things I do, because I know others aren
t as fortunate. I grew up in a nice home, I have two loving parents, and my siblings and I have
never had to worry if there would be food on the table that night. When I had to face difficulties
in my life, they weren t quie what people would imagine when they think of adversity. My
adversities have tested my mental and emotional balance. The biggest adversity I had to face was
from the end of my eighth grade year going into the summer I was going to be starting my
freshman year.
My family had moved to from Marion to Altoona, Iowa when I was just about to start eighth
grade. The move caused a lot of emotional pain. Altoona was two hours away from the place that
was always home. When my parents told my siblings and I about the news I didn t want to leave.
I didn t want to to leave my friends, my school or our families church. We came from a very close
knit church and everyone knew each other well. Moving away from the church had hurt almoe the
whole family. It wasn t long before my parents decided we needed to find another church to go to,
especially since I still needed to finish my conformation.

The total DFPR production time for an order was determined to be 47.40 minutes, which
equated to a daily capacity of 10.13 orders (81 boards). Further analysis of DFPR production times
(as shown in Exhibit 6) revealed that production time increases at a decreasing rate as order size
increased. Additionally, daily DFPR capacity, as measured in number of boards, increases at an
increasing rate as the order size is increased (See Exhibit 7). This correlates to DFPR production
time per board being significantly reduced as the order size is increased.
Thus, it is easy to see why a bottleneck might sometimes occur in the DFPR area of there are
several small orders going through back to back. If viewed in the same manner as costs in
economics, the setup time in this operation can be viewed as a fixed cost incurred regardless of
production amount. The rum time can be viewed as variable costs that are incurred at an
incremental rate as production is increased. Thus, smaller orders have a higher percentage of their
production time represented by setup time (fixed) as opposed to run time (variable).
Question 4
A last useful analysis is to examine the standard labor times required for various order sizes.
Exhibit 8 displays the total standard labor times for order sizes of 1 board, 8 boards, and 200
boards. As expected, total labor times

The Islamic State Of Syria
Women around the world are faced with problems and situation that may seem like a chimera to
us, but a reality for another: within the country of Syria this reality thrust upon the women of the
country. Syria has been taken over by an extreme religious group called the Islamic State of Iraq
or more commonly known as ISIS. Even though ISIS has been around for quite some time they
are just now beginning to grow to enough supporters to be able to cause great danger to the people
of Syriaand around the world. ISIS uses the tactic of causing fear to control and suppress the
women so there are unable to stand up for their country and fight back against them.

School Uniforms Ethos
School uniforms are a debatable topic that has been going on for years. Fashion has began to
overrule schools rather than education. There are quite some people who believe school uniforms
should not be enforced, however, many also believe that school uniforms are the best things for
students. School uniformsare a great resource and will cause less chaos in schools because they
will ensure equality, provide safety to the school, and are cost effective. Students need to not get so
caught up in popularity, and focus more towards their future. Appearance and popularity is not what
is going to get students through life, as much as they believe it will. If more schools provide school

Data Management And Information Systems
Introduction
With 3.2 billion internet users [1] and 6.4 billion internet connected devices by 2016 [2],
unprecedented amount of data is being generated and process daily and increasing every year.
The advent of web 2.0 has fueled the growth and creation of new and more complex types of data
which creates a natural demand to analyze new data sources in order to gain knowledge. This
new data volume and complexity of the data is being called Big Data, famously characterised by
Volume, Variety and Velocity; has created data management and processing challenges due to
technological limitations, efficiency or cost to store and process in a timely fashion. The large
volume and complex data is unable to be handled and/or processed by most current information
systems in a timely manner and the traditional data mining and analytics methods developed for a
centralized data systems may not be practical for big data.
The paper provides background and related literature on the Big Data, studies the concept from
Relational Database to current NoSQL database which have been fueled by the growth Big Data
and importance of managing it. And surveys the Big Data challenges from the perspective of its
characteristics Volume, Variety and Velocity and attempts to study how those challenges can be
addressed.
This is where NoSQL systems have been created to solve the data management challenges posed
by Big Data. NoSQL is not a single system that can solve every single Big Data problem

Cyber Bullying And Its Effect On Today s Youth
Studies have shown that cyberbullying incidents have quadrupled in the last five years.
Cyber bullying has become a huge issue recently. It is despairing to turn on the news
everyday and watching reports going on about bullying and the number of suicides such
has lead to. Love is Louder has been a phrase commonly used by celebrities to send out
a message not only to fans but to humanity proving that bullying is not righteous and should
not be tolerated. The more the communication through technology expands and widens, the
more bullies torture their innocent victims. The fact is that technology is somehow not being
used for the precise matter, so we need to figure out a way to put an end to cyber bullies
injudicious actions. Cyberbullying is becoming a radical obstacle and we all need to do our
parts to building a mindful perspective of what can be done to stop cyber bullies ones in for all.
Cyber bullies will continue to be a threat to today s youth until we take preventative
measures against them. Before terminating cyberbullying we must first perceive why and
how a cyber bully works. After researching and analyzing explanatory articles on such topic,
this research paper aims to inform and answer the following questions: What a cyber bully Nunez 2

would change thousands of citizen s lives.

Cons Of Abortion
The pros of abortion can be considered only if you been rape or if the ladies who is pregnant has
a high risk pregnancy or if the ladies are having a teenage pregnancy. Rape is horrible but abortion
can be so helpful to these ladies because the mothers have the right to get an abortion since they
went through rape and a tough time in their lives. Not only are the lady s victims but so are the
baby because there not a punishment to their mothers. The pros of getting an abortiondue to rape
can help these ladies and but, this awful memory behind them and get to move on with their life
s. Many people agree that is only right to get an abortion if ladies get rape so they can avoid the
trauma they got while getting rape so they can have faster recovery time. If they don t get an
abortion there just going to live with the trauma and it can affect the baby s life and the mother

Enrique s Journey, My Head
The entire time I was reading Enrique s Journey, I kept asking myself, What would I do? If my
mother left me to go to another country when I was five, would I try to find her years later?
Would the abandonment and neglect by my family members lead me to resort to drugs? Would I
make an eighth attempt to cross the border of the United States after my first seven attempts
failed? These, and many other questions, ran through my head as I read Enrique s Journey, the
story of a Honduran teenage boy s attempt to reunite with his mother, Lourdes, after she leaves
him for the United States. Lourdes, a single mother, leaves her children with obviously good
intentions she wants to get a better job and send money back to her children, but it is hard not to
resent her a little. As I was reading, I kept trying to think of ways Lourdes could have stayed with
her family in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and still have sufficiently provided for them. Maybe there
could have been a way, but Lourdes obviously did not think there was. Leaving her family is not
easy for Lourdes; she cannot even take a picture of Enrique with her because it would make her
too sad, but she feels that this is the only way to give her children more than she had. Enrique
decides to make his first effort at crossing the border on his sixteenth birthday. Unfortunately, he is

Tamika is researching an essay that she needs to write for social studies. It is about the civil rights
movement of the 1960 s.
During her research she came across many different types of texts about the political leaders, and
the movement itself.
There were some autobiographies, historical fiction novels, and newspaper articles available.
Tamika was overwhelmed with the amount of choices available. She decided to begin with two
different resources.
She selected a historical fiction novel and a newspaper article to read. The newspaper article was

I want to start by addressing the topic of productivity. John Muir claims one of the reasons for my
termination was due to a significant lack of productivity, yet doesn t have evidence to support that
claim. It s impossible to falsify productivity due to weekly audits conducted by supervisors, which I
review and sign.
Enclosed are my productivity records submitted by Ann Marie Hartmann which proves the
information on the termination letter was altered and fabricated to intentionally misrepresent the
amount of work I completed.
In addition to weekly audits, the Epic program John Muir uses for patient charting, records (with a

For instance, when asked to clarify how many interruptions I had per day, I declared each day was
different. Some days there were quite a few and other days not too many.
Interruptions depended on things like how many patients put valuables in the safe, or how
many employees collected payments that day, or if patients came in with billing questions, or
whether the gift shop and cafeteria needed change or needed to make deposits, and so forth.
Secondly, I would like to discuss the issue of accessing work from home. John Muir has record
of a work ticket and documentation showing that IT installed the program on my home
computer which granted me access. At no point was I ever told not to access work from home
or talked to regarding my access from home. In fact, the opposite was true. When IT installed the
program on my home computer around the beginning of March, IT stated this was the new
system where all employees were going to be required to use in order to access John Muir s
system from home. Employees access John Muir s system for multiple reasons such as, paystubs,

Malvolio Twelfth Night
The role of Malvolio in Twelfth Night is, generally, being the target of Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and
Maria s pranks and foolishness. At the beginning of the play, he is very easy to find intolerable, due
to his killjoy like behaviour and vanity. However, by the end of the play, the audience mostly feel
sorry for him, because of the malicious way that Sir Toby and others treat Malvolio. Despite this,
Malvolio is one of the main sources of comedy, due to his gullibility and, as some say, his
foolishness . My argument is that Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria are the real fools of Twelfth
Night Sir Toby in particular. Fool a person who acts unwisely or imprudently; a silly person. My
first point is Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria are the real fools of Twelfth Night, since they create
the foolishness, while Malvolio is simply a victim of their foolish behaviour. This foolish behaviour
is the pranks that Sir Toby and others pull and Malvolio is a victim of it since he is the victim of
all their pranks. For example, Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria forged a love letter from Olivia,
addressed to M, O, A, I (Malvolio). In this letter, Olivia says Remember who commended thy
yellow stockings, and wished to see thee ever cross gartered . Malvolio falls for this and wears
cross gartered yellow stockings. Another display of their pranks is when Sir Toby, Sir Andrew,
Maria and Fabian tie Malvolio up in a dark room Come, we ll have him in a dark room and... Show

No New Worlds By Dr. Adrian Forsyth
The world is in a constant state of change, today s decisions will affect the future of all species
large and small, defining the ways in which society will continue to live. The essay No New
Worlds written by Dr. Adrian Forsyth explores ideas associated with ever changing populations and
states of the world. The essay describes the existence of humankind by their impacts on the
surrounding environments. The reader is then introduced to the implications our world faces if
these problems are not solved and additionally steps to solving these issues. Thus, both men and
women need to take action to help or pay the consequences and protect the only world we have,
planet Earth.

Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on
these issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a
short period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential
growth, but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population
over a long period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from
5million people to 500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5
billion people [5], for a period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times
its size than it was in the 1500 s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s
population was roughly 2.5 billion people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has
tripled. With these statics, it is evident that the world s population is increasing at an
incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak, overconsumption is another problem this
world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far more than their fair share of the Earth s
natural productivity. [7] Due to this over consumption of resources, there is a vast demand for
cheap food which results in the clear cutting of large forest to generate room for new plantations of
food. When doing so, humans destroy habitats that

Lessons in The Call Of The Wild

Buck learned the effort of leadership. After being in the pack for some time, Buck killed Spitz

Buck to lead the sled, but Buck thought that he should have the leadership. It was his right. He

equipped with within the field. Both are equipped with pepper spray, containing five percent
capsicum, TASER model M26, impact weapons such as ASP model F21 and F26. Compressed
air weapons such as the pepperball, 12 gauge bean bags and for felony offenders or offenses,
canines. The darts of a fired TASER can reach from fifteen feet away if it is a civilian model but
can reach as far as twenty five feet away if it is a law enforcement model. For a TASER to be
fully effective in attaining a suspect, both of the TASERs probes must make contact with their
intended target. In a random sample of fifty scenarios where the TASER was deemed as
ineffective and void, thirty eight percent could be justified of of the facts that both of the probes
did not make full contact with the target or both of the probes missed the target in its entirety. Of
these thirty eight percent, majority ejected the probes of the TASER at a distance greater the fifteen
feet. Yes, law enforcement issued TASERs can reach twenty five feet but fifteen feet is optimal in
trying to subdue a suspect. In this particular scenario, the probes spread out as they traveled further,

World Change Wednesday
This year in my Sports and Entertainment Marketing class, my teacher has given my class an
astonishing amount of freedom. Every Wednesday that I have the class, I am allowed to research
a topic of my choosing just as long as I am not already an aficionado on the subject. Apparently
many other schools around the nation are doing this as well. It is called Genius Hour or World
Change Wednesday, and it is challenging me to think about learningin a different way.
When I was first given the assignment, I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I found myself
getting increasingly more frustrated as I came into class. The most important question that I kept
asking myself was what do I care about? My school is on block scheduling so I only have a
Wednesday class every other week which gave me plenty of time to think. The problem was that
I just had no idea what to research. Finally, the answer fell into my lap while I was listening to
the music on my Ipod. I am an avid Billy Joel enthusiast and have at least ten of his songs readily
available in my music library. We Didn t Start the Fire started to play, and I was singing along when
it hit me. Why not learn everything that there is to know about the references mentioned in this
amazing hit? Most of the song refers to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Before this assignment, I considered myself to be the type of person to rush through a project. I
was very much a just get it finished kind of student, but now, I try to put more time and energy into
other assignments. This has definitely added to my character and who I am as a student, and I

Rhetorical Techniques Used In The ASPCA Advertising
The ASPCA announcement featuring Sarah Mclachlan is an extremely well known artifact that
vividly portrays images of many different animals. The ASPCA is an organization that works to
rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws, and share resources with shelters nationwide. The
first scene in the advertisement is a shaking dog in a cage that appears to be sad and terrified.
From the first scene on it is clear that the advertisement has a very sad mood to it. The ad then
fades to text that says, Everyday in America thousands of animals suffer from cruelty and neglect. It
continues with more videos of animals that appear to be injured and neglected. It fades to text that
reads, thousands were rescued last year. The advertisement continues... Show more content on

Pathos is a method that affects the audience s emotions, whether it be an attempt to make the
viewer happy, mad, sad, joyful, surprised, etc. In this advertisement there are a variety of methods
used to appeal to the audiences emotion. The first method demonstrated is the use of vivid imagery.
The announcement shows a lot of different animals that all have been recently rescued. The animals
all have very sad and helpless visages; it is clear that some of the animals have suffered from
some bad injuries as if to display that they have been neglected. This aims to make the viewers
very sad. This pulls at the heartstrings of most of viewers because almost everyone has had a
family pet some time in their life. The viewers feel a sense of compassion and sadness for these
sorrowful looking animals because they couldn t imagine of their pet had to go through abuse or
neglect. Even if the viewer doesn t own a pet it s almost impossible to not feel sad for powerless
animals that have had to go through such torment. This is just one method the ASPCA
announcement uses to make its audience sad. The pathos technique is also employed by the use of
music in this advertisement. Angel by Sarah Mclachlan is a very powerful and emotional piece. The
song has undoubtedly sad tone. The song s message resonates perfectly with the advertisement s
message, and it suggests that the audience can be the animals angels or saviors. Playing Angel
through out the advertisement only further enhances the strong sense of sadness that it aims to
provoke onto the audience. Lastly, the announcement uses strong dialogue to demonstrate the
rhetorical device pathos. Sarah Mclachlan s tone through out the commercial is very soft and
somewhat somber. She uses the word you several times during the commercial, which makes the
audience feel a very personnel connection to the animals portrayed

Origins of American Slavery

Section 103
The Origins of Slavery in America
The institution of slavery is a black mark on the history of America. The atrocities that were
allowed to occur for hundreds of year are revolting to think about. History books and classes often
detail the horrors of slavery, and the effects it had on our agricultural economy. However, they do
not really explain why the practice of slavery was allowed to flourish in the colonies. They just
present the facts of its occurrence. They do not consider the mindset of the people who thought it
was justifiable to enslave a specific race. This paper seeks to answer this question using evidence
from the studies of Degler, the Handlins, and Morgan. Slavery was not brought into ... Show more

The blacks regardless of age or gender were always priced higher than their white counterparts,
and the lengths of terms were absent. Their value was higher because their service was for life,
explaining the absence of the length of term (Degler). Undoubtedly there are many more cases of
blacks being treated as slaves and inferiors than there are of whites, even though there was a
plethora of white servants. However, the presence of a large number of free Africans or those with
defined terms of services shows us that the discrimination of blacks cannot be the sole cause of
slavery. While slavery had definitely begun, it was not uniform or consistent by any means. Had
there not been another factor involved, it is not unfathomable that different, albeit poorly treated,
classes of Africans would have formed. Continuing on the last point, were it not for specific
economic conditions, slavery would not have evolved into the enterprise that it did. The Handlins
argue that blacks were just as unfree as the whites who were unfree were. They claim that economic
circumstance was the reason that blacks were enslaved. Due to the tobacco revolution the planters
needed more laborers. However, the Europeans had heard of the harsh treatment of servants. This
dissuaded them to make the voyage to the colonies. Therefore, the owners had to make servitude
more appealing so they lessened the terms and restricted punishment (Handlin). The blacks

Gender Transformation In Buddhist Narratives
Using at least three examples covered in class discuss how gender has implications for religious
devotees. Throughout the semester we have studied various examples discussing how gender has
implications for religions devotees. The first example, is from guest speaker Chris Emm s
presentation on Gender Transformation in Buddhist Narratives. Focusing on the question of who
can and who cant become a Buddhist Monk or Nun. The first questions asked to one undertaking
ordination as a monk is: are you a man? and do you have a male organ? and he must say: I am,
and I have. In the story of the Lotus Sutra, ЕљДЃriputra questions the Naga princess on why she is
in the body of a woman, stating that her body is filthy and not a vessel of the Dharma. Naga s
daughter is then transformed into a male. The goddess used the power of numinous penetration and

Broken Spears Summary
The book, Broken Spears was an interesting reading that talked about the Spanish conquest of
Tenochtitlan. Throughout the book, it becomes clear that the Spanish were successful in their
conquest as a result of a number of factors. The Spanish were intimidating in appearance and in
their weaponry. They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed
alliances with rival tribes, like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. Finally, one of the key reasons that the
Spaniards were able to successfully conquer the Aztecs was due to the fact that Motecuhzoma
himself, believed that Cortes and his men were gods. In regards appearance, the Spanish were
essentially covered from head to toe in iron armor. Even the weapons they carried were covered
in iron. The Aztecs were unaccustomed to the iron clad individuals. In regards to weaponry, the
Spanish were, even more, intimidating in the fact that they had cannons. The Aztecs describe the
cannon to Motecuhzoma, a thing like a ball of stone comes out of its entrails: it comes shooting
sparks and raining fire...smoke that comes out of it has a pestilent odor. The odor penetrates
even the brain and causes great discomfort ( 30). For me personally, the only reason I can think
of for Cortes to fire off a cannon was to show dominance over the Indians. For people who had
never even heard of a cannon before, it is understandable that the Native Americans were fearful of
Cortes and his men. Along with the iron clad armor and weapons the

Adoration Of The Magi And Bruegi Analysis
The two paintings Adoration of the Magi, by Botticelli, and Peasant wedding, by Pieter Bruegel
the Elder are both Renaissance art works made in the 14th and 15th centuries. Botticelli
completed the Adoration of the Magi during the Italian Renaissance. The piece was
commissioned by Cosimo de Medici and encaptures the Medici family witnessing the birth of
Jesus Christ. Likewise, Pieter Bruegel the Elder completed the painting Pheasant Wedding in
1567, which is a depiction of the local pheasant s daily lifestyle and the simple pleasures it had to
offer. Although at first the two pieces of artwork may appear to be similar in style, they contain
several subtle differences because of the era they came from. For example, Botticelli... Show more

With their family and friends blissfully dining, the peasants depicted in Peasant Wedding manifest
the simple Lutheran religion that was being innovated at the time. The two paintings contrast in this
way because of the indistinct and undeniable religious backgrounds the paintings have.
Although there are many singularities in between the Northern and Southern Renaissance styles
there are distinct similarities in the two artistic communities. One similarity is the the belief in
Humanism that is represented in both the Adoration of the Magi and Peasant Wedding. Humanism
is the belief that stresses the potential value and goodness of human beings and was innovated in
both the Italian and Northern Renaissance. This belief can be seen in the painting Peasant Wedding
by the way that Bruegel the Elder illustrates the congregation of people that had attended the
wedding. Likewise, in The Adoration of the Magi, Botticelli communicates his belief in Humanism
by the way he precisely draws each person in the painting. The two paintings portray the Humanist
beliefs through the precise details in which they paint each person and indicates that they have faith
and trust in the human race.
In southern Renaissance artwork, the subject matter was usually centered and results in drawing the
eyes attention to a certain focal point. Conversely, in northern renaissance art, the placement of the

The Epic of Gilgamesh and Sumerian Culture Essay
The Epic of Gilgamesh and Sumerian Culture The Epic of Gilgamesh is generally regarded as the
greatest literature about tales of a great king. The Epic of Gilgamesh served to show us a lot of
things. The time period of BCE is very blurry, and this story attempts to describe many different
things in not only Sumerian beliefs, but also Sumerian s culture as a whole. Like many stories from
BCE the truth itself is questionable, even though a lot of the information is fact. The factual
information that Gilgamesh teaches us about Sumerian Civilization is that had had many craftsman

This is proof of the Sumerian architectural abilities. The architecture in Mesopotamia are
considered to have been contemporary with the founding of the Sumerian cities, but there was
some complexity in the architectural design during this Protoliterate period (c. 3400 c. 2900 BC).
This is shown in the design of many religious buildings. Typical temples of the Protoliterate period
both the platform type and the type built at ground level are, however, much more elaborate both in
planning and ornament. The interior was decorated with cones sunk into the wall, covered in
bronze. Most cities were simple in structure, but the ziggurat was one of the world s first complex
architectural structures. The Sumerian temples, called ziggurats was a small brick house that the
god was supposed to visit periodically. This house, however, was set on a brick platform, which
became larger and taller as time progressed. Along with showing many types of Sumerian
craftsmanship, the epic shows the strong belief in many gods. All through out the story Gilgamesh
comes in contact with many gods. But even before the contact with the gods, there was talk about
Gilgamesh being created by them. When the Gods created him they gave him a perfect

Lipids And The Proteins Of Lipids
Lipids
Lipids are part of a group of molecules which consist of fats, sterols, vitamins, phospholipids and
others.
We can find in our cell membrane glycerol phospholipids (phospholipids), which are part of the
lipid bilayer. The phospholipids can be found in biological membranes and their main function is to
bind proteins from the outside to the inside of cell membrane.
The structure of phospholipids is:
The phospholipids have 2 fatty acids and 2 long CH2 chains which are attached to a glycerol top.
The glycerol has a phosphate group which is hydrophilic attracted to water complete opposite to
the fatty acids chain which is hydrophobic scared of water .

In general lipids are known as fats, and even though the normal idea in society that fats aren t
good for our body that isn t always true. Fats can be of extreme help, our body uses fats to produce
energy and protect us.
Lipids will come into work and store energy if a large number of unneeded fats are consumed;
they will store the calories in adipose cells and release them again when necessary such as while
exercising.
Another way fats are helpful to our body is in order to protect us; lipids use fats to isolate our
body to maintain our balanced temperature also it can be found surrounding our main organs
(kidneys and heart) serving as protection in case of injuries.
Last but not least our body uses lipids while digesting food; here lipids will support the body
absorbing nutrients. The bile acids in our liver will allow the mixture of water and fats in order to
break down and absorb food which will later on be translated into vitamins and used to maintain
our vision and blood correct levels.

Similarities Between The Captivity And Slave Narrative
The captivity narrative and the slave narrative are two types of literary works, which were very
common during the 17th and the 18th century. The captivity narrative usually involves an innocent
white woman who is taken captive by an Indian tribe, who the woman describes as savages in most
of the cases. On the other hand, the slave narrative focuses on the quality of life that slaves were
facing before the time of the abolishment of slavery. Although the captivity narrativeand the slave
narrative show some similarities, they are completely different. We can observe the differences by
analyzing two literary works, A Narrative of The Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary
Rowlandsonby Mary Rowlandson and From The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah
Equiano, or Gustavas Vassa, the African, Written by Himself by Olaudah Equiano. A Narrative of
The Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson is a narrative written by Mary
Rowlandson herself, which sheds light on her own experiences revolving captivity. The Interesting
Narrative of The Life of Olaudah Equiano gives the reader insight into the life of a slave, the
treatments they endure, and usually their freedom, whether it be through escaping or other means.
Both narratives usually include real life accounts, however, the differences lie in the structure of the
narrative, the purpose that the narrative is trying to lay out and the treatment of the parties who are
living these experiences. To begin, the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Dumpster Diving
Dumpster Diving and it s Honorable Niche
There are many people who choose to live their life based on what they find in dumpsters. You
can spot them almost anywhere because there is a great population of them. Many people that see
one of these dumpster divers view them as disgusting or inappropriate to society. People are quick
to judge others when they do not relate to how they live their life. ВЁOn Dumpster DivingВЁ by
Lars Eighner is a short excerpt from his memoir Travels with Lizbeth , he begins to explain that
dumpster diving is not a bad activity as most view it as. He talks from a dumpster diver s
perspective, and tries to prove that dumpster diving is resourceful. Eighner applies the three
rhetorical appeals to establish his argument that dumpster diving is an ВЁhonorable nicheВЁ,
although he uses ethos the most to support his position.
To begin with, ethos was a big appeal that Eighner used to convince his readers that dumpster
diving is an honorable activity. He begins to explain his own experience in dumpster diving, and
how it is something honorable to him. Ethos is described as having, ВЁ... personal warmth,
consideration of others, a good mind and solid learningВЁ (Fahnestock, 1). So, when arguing
ethos, the person has to be relying and with experience. Eighner does give many examples from
his personal perspective as a dumpster diver, and makes him a reliable source. In the short
excerpt, ВЁOn Dumpster DivingВЁ, Eighner explains, ВЁ...and because I visited the dumpster
regularly I knew what was fresh and what was yesterday sВЁ (24). As a person with experience
in dumpster diving, he explains that he can tell the difference between what has been recently
thrown away and what has already been there for a while, and with that he knows what is good
to use and what is not. This is a good factor of dumpster diving because he does not need to spend
any money like others, he just relies on what others throw away. Also, Eighner explains, The
student does not know that, and since it is Daddy s money, the students decide not to take a chance
(26). Eighner describes those who are unresourceful as rich, spoiled, kids that do not know how to
occupy what they have wisely. In this case dumpster divers take advantage

corporations is very significant because it shaped the American economy and helped lead America

Relationship Of Themes Of Developmental Theories Essay
Relationship of Themes to Developmental Theories First of all, loneliness, a first developmental
theme addressed above can be related to John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s Attachment theory,
where Amy is living with her estranged father after the death of her mother. Initially she spends
most of her time living alone as she does not have any friends and her father is busy in his work. It s
seems that both are not attached emotionally with each other which results in the manifestation of
her affectionless psychopathy (an inability to show affection or concern for others) (McLeod, S. A.
2007). Therefore, according to Attachment Theory, a strong emotional and physical attachment to at
least one primary caregiver is critical to personal development and long term consequences of
parental deprivation might include delinquency, reduced intelligence, increased aggression,
depression, affectionless psychopathy (McLeod, S. A. 2007). Secondly, the next developmental
theme, mistrust can be related to the first stage of Erikson s psychosocial development, Trust vs.
Mistrust, where initially Amy does not trust anyone. Because of death of her mother and, father
who left Amy and his mother when she was 3 years of age, it seems like Amy did not get required
care and attention from the parents which might be the root cause of her mistrust. The symptoms of
her mistrust such as loneliness, no emotional bonding with father, no trust and proper
communication with close ones (say her father,

into a phone. But on the flip side it can be a positive affect. You see what all transistors do in all
sorts of technology. You have computers with games that look as if they are real life. Like if
you were living in the right part of the world you could look outside your window and see the
same thing you are seeing and hearing on the screen. You have an iPod that can fit in the palm
of your hand yet it can hold tens of thousands of songs. That is enough to play for a whole year!
Technologly has come so far with it s pros and cons of the world affect to all the advancements.
You can have the world at your fingertips, as long as you do not have a flip phone. But if you had
an iPhone you could hold music, apps, and much much more.
In your opinion, what impact will your technonly have on the future? In my opinion the future of
technolog wil have both a positive and negative affect, the same as what technology is doing
now. The technology of transistors will continue to have society in awe of what ever new product
will come out next. They will become friends with who ever gets the new product first. We will
ask for the things for christmas and boast about it too all of our friends. Because we have most
storage for all of our stuff. Transistors

Theme Of Archetypes In Romeo And Juliet
Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who was the founder analytical
psychology, once stated: The contents of the collective unconscious are archetypes, primordial
images that reflect basic patterns that are common to us all, and which have existed universally
since the dawn of time (Carl Gustav Jung). Originally published in 1597, William Shakespeare
devised a renowned play about two star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Most can argue that a
prominent factor behind the choice of language throughout this play was influenced by archetypes
and the psychological aspect behind them, depicting patterns that reside within a collective
unconscious, universally apparent and populated by instinct. Throughout the romantic, yet
devastating, story of Romeo and Juliet,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Carl Jung investigated this realm of consciousness and discovered that human beings, as a species,
encompass almost identical traits of thought under our collective unconsciousness, which is the
determining component of how the world is considered in perspective, including the symbolism
apparent in religion, mythology, and other historical documents. In the play, Romeo and Juliet,
Shakespeare harnessed this knowledge in order to convey his ideas with text that ensured the
readers understood his story and could base a personal interpretation from it. Thus, after analyzing
the dreams of schizophrenic patients, ancient symbolism, mythology, religion, biology, and
evolution, one can come to the conclusion that each of these areas can, in fact, be proven to have a
correlating relationship with the human psyche, adapting to its conditions yet never losing its
mutual and uniting bond through time and

New York City, also known as the Big Apple, is an ideal fantasy getaway for any person. There
are several activities to indulge in, in this city, which would be ideal for any sort of enthusiast of
any field. Here, there are incredible bakeries, underground symbolization shows, historical
buildings, and of course the very famous Broadway. However, equally amazing are the secretive
and (a tad) eerie places that are existent in this beautiful city. Let us now take a look at the top 5
freakish places in New York City...

Beautiful, isn t it? Now what if someone told you that the tranquil grass park that you are gazing
at is, in reality, a cemetery? That is exactly how the New York Marble Cemetery is. Located
behind the Bowery Hotel, this cemetery, which was founded in the year 1830, does not contain
tombstones. Instead, the dead are buried in underground marble vaults here, which are marked by
plaques. This is why most people, who admire the beauty of this place, are ignorant of its other
secret. The place is usually closed for visitors, except for a few hours on the fourth Sundays in the
months of April October.
1. Cold War Bomb Shelter
The Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States of America, is
indeed an amazing and wonderful piece of architecture. However, what many people aren t aware
of is that this bridge also houses a secret Bomb Shelter, probably built around the Cold War period.
The hidden chamber, which was discovered in the year 2006, is situated just under the Brooklyn
Bridge s entrance at Lower Manhattan. In the room were found provisions blankets, water
containers, medicines, even crackers! that were to be made use of, on the event of a nuclear
attack. The supply boxes bore dates 1957 and 1962, which in turn led to an understanding that it
was made during the Cold War. The exact location of the room is however, presently

Joseph Von Faunhofer Research Paper
Joseph von Fraunhofer was a German optician and physicist who discovered and influenced how
astronomers view the dark line spectrum, the spectrum of the sun and the diffraction of light.
On March 6, 1787 in Straubing, Bavaria, Joseph Ritter von Fraunhofer was born into a poor
family where his father Franz Xaver Fraunhofer was a watch glass maker. At the age of 10,
Joseph s mother, Maria Anna Frohlich passed away, and only a year after his father died. This
left Fraunhofer orphaned and forced him to start working as an apprentice for a harsh lens maker
named Philipp Anton Weichelsberger. This was appropriate because since the age of 10 Joseph
was already working in his familys workshop. Weichelsberger used Fraunhofer primarily as slave
labor, often driving him to near starvation and exhaustion. However, on July 21, 1801, the
workshop in which Fraunhofer was working in collapsed. Although it seemed like a tragic incident
at the time, in hindsight this changed Joseph von Fraunhofer s life for the better, and therefore
changed the course of astronomy. This collapse caused a rescue... Show more content on

He had been using a very thin slit to separate the light into its component colors, but discovered
that a wire mesh could be assembled in which the holes would act as hundreds of very thin slits.
This was effective because the wire mesh would split, then re split the passing light. Thus, in 1821
he constructed a diffracting grating involving 260 wires that would produce a widely dispersed
spectrum. Although revolutionary, it took forty years before advances were made on his work due
to the fact that extensive time and expensive equipment were needed to duplicate his work. With
his invention of the diffraction grating, he transformed spectroscopy from a qualitative art to a
quantitative science by demonstrating how to accurately measure the wavelength of light

The Importance Of Change In Video Game Development
A change in financial state when I left the video game development industry wasn t the biggest
stressor as I had saved up money and my wife was also working her small business which was
brought in enough income to maintain a lifestyle as we were closing down expenses of living in
Montreal. However, the time I spend in developing a small business came to a halt after having
to move my grandmother in law, and my in laws from two different states and place them in our
home in Arizona. The distraction was necessary to reduce expenses for both sets of family
members as they were in Virgina and New Hampture respectfully. My wife and I learned how to

that I was bleeding money as the coins where falling out of my pocket from transaction fees due
to my stop loss orders being triggered, a method I called the seat belt when a secerity starts to go
the wrong way.
The biggest stressor was a when the earnings season occured and I had been following the fall of
retail (brick and morter). Companies where continuing to report horrible earning reports. I placed
a virtual trade on one of the retailers and I was right. The payout was huge. I felt that the trend
was across the industry, so I found the next retailer within the same subsector, clothing, as it was
another mild winter, and they company sold winter clothing for the season just like the previous
trade. This time with real money. There were a surprise earnings. The company beat expectations

Essay about Post-Depression Industrialization in Latin...
Post Depression Industrialization in Latin America
For most of the first century after independence, all republics in Latin America followed an
economic policy of export led growth based on primary product exports. The tremendous economic
crisis of the 1930s that had a crushing and widespread impact on Latin America; precipitated by the
global economic depression, forced Latin American nations to re evaluate this exogenous economic
growth model and to transform their economic policies in the direction of long neglected
diversification of the economy, particularly toward an endogenous model oriented to
industrialization.
In order to understand the economic growth model shift from export led to industrialization through

During this period, the economic policies of Latin American governments were relatively single
mindedly oriented to enhance the export sector, while doing little to promote any type of
diversification of the economy or domestic industrial economic development. Swift discussed these
government policies:
In addition to facilitating the system of landholding and labor use for the production of exports,
governments used tax exemptions, subsidies for new plantings, and waivers for duties on imported
inputs to further development of the export sector. The state also used its borrowing power to
obtain funds abroad for the infrastructure that supported this sector.
By the end of the nineteenth century most Latin American countries had firmly established outward
oriented economic structures. The pace of domestic income growth and wealth accumulation was
almost entirely dependant upon external factors, such as favourable demand and prices for the
primary exports of Latin America. While the world economy

Pros And Cons Of 1950s Decade
I agree with the author on even though 1950s get more votes compared to other decades,
however, it still have a lot of mixed pros and cons. The 1950s sound like a great decade for many
family to have a better life because of better economy. However, there still a lot of sexism and
racism which cause the decade sound like a nightmare for an Asian girl like me. The 1950s
decade is not a good decade to live in even though it have a lot things that help family to have a
better life. For example, the author give the reader some statistics : In Philadelphia, for example,
the City of Brotherly Love, there were more than 200 racial incidents over housing in the first six
months of 1950s alone (40). It is hard to even find a place to live during... Show more content on

This shows that, the only people that have a better life and find this decade is a good decade to
live in will be mostly White people. During this time racism is a very large problem. Because of
these problems many others have a difficult time to find a job, a place to live, and even have to
deal with others people bias and bad treatments. An example, The Federal Housing Authority...,
refused to insure homes in all black or in racially mixed neighborhoods (40). This means that,
there were a lot of government benefits got created only to help out the White people.
Compared to today, people with different races can receive many more benefits than when they
were live in 1950. Even though, racism still a great problem in this decade, and people with
color skins will have a difficult time to survive in this decade. Still, this time can be count as one

The Camps
It is truly important to remember what had occurred in labor camps from 1933 to 1939. In Nazi
Germany, concentration camps were where people were sent to work. Jews and other groups of
people such as gypsies were sent to these camps. If someone was unable to work, they would be
killed. The camps in Nazi Germany were cruel, and inhumane because people who were unable to
work were killed, many caught deadly diseases, people were marked with wrong symbol, got
experimented on, and people were sent to terrible housing.
During the Holocaust typhus was easily spread. Typhus is spread by fleas, ticks, mites, lice and
when they bite an infected person and then bite a healthy one. ( What Is Typhus ) The article...

chances to survive than the others. Babies and young children, pregnant women, the elderly, the
handicapped, and the sick had little chance of surviving this first selection. The camps were
terrible because babies, and other innocent people were killed cruelly. After the people were killed,

Mirror By Edwin Arlington Robinson And Mirror
Identity defines a person s character, whether it is given by others or made by themselves. It
carries people to success but also pulls others into a whirlpool of failure and misery more often
hardships than not. Authors tend to write about such matters to bring them into light. Many
stories and poems base their entire themes and main ideas around the specific topic of identity.
The poems Richard Cory by, Edwin Arlington Robinson, and Mirror by, Sylvia Plath, for
example, both use identity to tell an emotional story but achieve it in various ways. Richard Cory
utilizes social construct to let the reader infer Richard uses the town s people in creating his
identity. The people view Richard as a king and even say they [think] he [is] everything (Robinson
line 11). In addition, they are envious of his riches and want nothing to do with him. Blinded by
jealousy and ignorance of how he is thought to feel about them, nobody attempts to befriend
Richard, and they even avoid him. Furthermore, he is imperially slim (Robinson line 3), a
gentleman (Robinson line 4), quietly arrayed (Robinson line 5), and many other redeeming
qualities bundled together, making him much different from the town s people. Being better than
them in almost every way enforces their stereotype of the man Richard is. Because the town s
people must work, unlike Richard, they base his identity on their jealousy. Though they see him as
superior and do not speak to him, it is presumed Richard...

The Horrors of Animal Euthanasia Essay
The Horrors of Animal Euthanasia
Due to the domestication of cats and dogs their populations have skyrocketed. This is due in part to
the lack of pet owners acting in a responsible manner. These responsibilities include the spaying and
neutering of pets. These numbers of homeless animals in communities have caused humane
societies to euthanize too many animals. This, I feel is a violation to animal rights and is a cruel
way for these animals to have to leave this world. I disagree with the activists who believe that the
way to keep animal populations down is to euthanize these poor animals. Nothing good could come
from the slaughtering of these animals. Fostering large numbers of animals in communities is an

As they take the dog on a leash down to the E room, it wags its tail and trembles in fear. Its excited
for the attention, but at the same time is in fear of what he s being led to. All the dogs stop
barking as they lead him down the isle. They know what s going on. One of their fellow friends
is going to die, and they may be next. They place the dog on an old blanket on the concrete floor
and shave off a patch of fur on his leg. The dog starts to tremble more. A tourniquet is wrapped
slowly around his leg and a syringe of cool blue liquid death enters his body making his eyelids
grow heavy and eventually falling limp in the arms of the employee. His heartbeat slowly
dissapates and then stops. This, unfortunately, is a regular occurence in animal shelters today.
Some proponents for euthinization in animal shelters believe that giving them a dignified painless
death is a lot better than leaving them out to die on the streets. Also they feel that allowing a dog
or cat to be subjected to abuse and neglect is inhumane and worse than death. ( Mountain, p.2 ). I
totally agree with them, but resorting to euthinization is not the only solution. We should look to
the pet owners and the people of our society for the solutions. Animal shelters should have
campaigns to help promote the adoption of animals in their shelter. Reach out to the people of
society and let them know what kind of influence a pet can bring into their life. We shouldn t give

Creating And Developing A Group Dance Performance With A...
Demonstrate an understanding of the processes involved in creating and developing a group dance
performance with a particular focus on choreography
Introduction
Choreography is the act of creating movement to produce dance. It is a creative process that
requires knowledge of how the process functions (Minton, 2007). Smith Autard (2010) believes
there is a vast difference between dancing and choreographing. Dancing can be enjoyed for
pleasure and the expression of feeling but to choreograph movement is to create a work of art
(Smith Autard, 2010: 3). According to Smith Autard, (2010) a work of art has to be created with the
composer s intention to communicate a theme or emotion. The movement content is an abstraction
from actual feelings of the choreographer, or the character of the dance that is being portrayed,
which creates a representation of the work that is significant to the dance idea as an entity.
Composition is the bringing together of smaller sections that can be worked on to create one
overall piece. The process of refinement and reflection to develop choreography demonstrates how
composition begins as small sections of movement. Basic compositional elements include space,
time and theme (Lambert, 2015).
Improvisation is a way of exploring new methods of movement it is a method of self expression
and discovery. Improvisational dance movements came during the 1960′s and 1970′s where
an artistic revolution, known as the post modern movement, made the dancer

On the surface the nation s commitment in providing access to any individual seeking entry to Job

systems through partnerships with other schools, organizations, and companies would enable the
next generation of students. It will allow them to further their careers and educationgiving them the

Polly Schoyer Brooks Queen Eleanor
In the book, Queen Eleanor by Polly Schoyer Brooks, it discusses the uncanny relationship between
King Henry and Thomas Becket. It starts when Henry appoints Becket to the role of archbishop.
Ultimately, it ends with Henry accidently giving an order to his knights to kill Becket for treason.
Nonetheless, Becket was correct in believing his faithfulness in the church came before the King,
because of how overwhelmingly prominent religionwas to the people s lives, Henry gave Becket
the role directly, and Henry didn t care that it would ruin their friendship because Henry was so
power hungry. To begin with, religion and the church was an extremely important factor in people s
lives in the middle ages. For example, the text states, ...he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To further support this argument, the author states, Becket warned the king that this would lead to
trouble and might end their friendship. which shows that Henry didn t care if he ruined their
close friendship as long as he got control over more. The text also states, Attempts to make up
always ended in failure, for each man now sought to ruin each other. which expresses how even
though Becket warned Henry of disagreements, they could never fix their issues and soon loathed
everything the other one did. This ended both of them seething and never being able to agree or
even work together, which led to them despising one another. On the other hand, one could also
make the argument that Becket should have given his loyalty to Henry first because Henry gave
him the job of archbishop. Others may think that Becket should have stayed loyal to the King
because they believe the church should always come second to the King. However, this is
problematic because although Henry gave him the position of archbishop, Becket had more
integrity and valued his responsibilities to the church more than his friendship with Henry. In
conclusion, although in some ways you could side with Henry, the smarter and better choice is to

  • 2. What Is Working Towards A Solution Essay Working towards a solution Personal Level Working towards a solution needs to start at the personal level because in order to change the world, individuals need to first be willing to change themselves. There are many opportunities to participate on a personal level to help combat hunger. One way to personally fight hunger and increase food security is to grow your own produce and produce for your neighbor. By growing personal vegetables, reliance on grocery stores for fresh produce is taken out of the picture. Less waste is produced when food is personally grown and it is inexpensive. Serving food at a homeless shelter or food pantry nearby is another personal way to get involved. Volunteering time is beneficial for both the volunteer ... It is expected that if a person regularly eats a meal at Bistro163 and cannot pay, they should volunteer their time as a payment. It is also an expectation that patrons pay more than the suggested price in order to help others have a meal. It is a pay it forward system. Places like Bistro163 address hunger in a dignified manner while at the same time building relationships throughout the community. If more communities adopted this idea, areas of food insecurity could turn into places where worrying about food becomes a thing of the past. National Level Communities that work together can create a difference within their own town or state and also on a national level. Natural disasters have a big impact on people and food security, so providing emergency assistance is one way a person could have a national effect on fighting hunger. Currently in the US, many people are facing the effects of hurricane s firsthand. A hurricane makes it challenging for travel, leaving grocery stores empty and poorly stocked. Many people are willing to volunteer and travel to places of natural disaster to provide aid to those in need. • 3. Heroism Essay What is heroism? Things preformed Superman, Batman, or The Flash? This is what most people think about when they hear the word hero or heroism. Although these characters show heroism, the definition of heroism does not have to be narrowed to the stereotypical hero. Many people have different concepts on heroism. A herocan be a ordinary person like a firefighter or cop. Heroism is a attribute that a person can obtain but they have to choose actions that help others like a fearless firefighter or cop helping others. Heroism also does not call for a reward for being heroic. Heroism is a quality or an act in all of us that a person uses to benefit for the good of other people even if there is a risk. Heroism makes society a better place.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also shows heros care for others shown in sociocentrism instead of being egocentric. This means that a hero is more concerned about others instead of having egocentrism and only caring for their own wants. Heroes tone down the evil in the world by being taking more action and caring for other people instead of themselves. The quality of heroism can be shown in the everyday life and people. George Bernard Shaw a playwright and a public figure said, Every reasonable man (and woman) is a potential scoundrel and a potential good citizen. What a man is depends upon his character; what a man does, and what we think of what he does, depends upon his circumstances (Shaw). When you see your peers they might not look special or have superpowers that can save the whole galaxy from an evil demon. Although they can still show heroism that you might not see or notice. In addition to heroism being in most people it can also be faint. Arthur Ashe who was a inspiration to many from being the first black player selected to the United States Davis Cup team states, True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost (Ashe). This quote displays that heroism can be a subtle act that doesn t have to expressed greatly but puts others before yourself. This also shows that heroism does not have to be publicly announced. • 4. How Did The New Deal Affect The Federal Government Amid the Great Depression, the role of the government altered enormously. Prior to the Depression hit, the government did close to nothing or nothing at all to assistance individuals monetarily. This was not seen as something the administration should do. With the Depression came an adjustment in this discernment. President Roosevelt s New Dealmade government in charge of peopling from numerous points of view. These courses run from ensuring that they would not lose cash they had stored in banks (FDIC) to guaranteeing that they would have cash to live on after they resigned (Social Security). When all is said in done, the New Deal brought on another part for government, one in which the legislature did significantly more to help people monetarily. There are numerous history specialists who see the New Deal approaches of President Franklin D. Roosevelt as the start of the social welfare arrangement of the Federal Government. Amid the Great Depression, there were numerous men who had no employments; thus, their families endured hardship and yearning. • 5. Hardships In My Life C.S. Lewis once said, Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny. Everyone at one point or another faces some sort of hardship in their life. No matter how big the hardship is, how the overcome it tells a lot about them as a person. Throughout my life I had very few difficulties. I consider myself lucky to have the things I do, because I know others aren t as fortunate. I grew up in a nice home, I have two loving parents, and my siblings and I have never had to worry if there would be food on the table that night. When I had to face difficulties in my life, they weren t quie what people would imagine when they think of adversity. My adversities have tested my mental and emotional balance. The biggest adversity I had to face was from the end of my eighth grade year going into the summer I was going to be starting my freshman year. My family had moved to from Marion to Altoona, Iowa when I was just about to start eighth grade. The move caused a lot of emotional pain. Altoona was two hours away from the place that was always home. When my parents told my siblings and I about the news I didn t want to leave. I didn t want to to leave my friends, my school or our families church. We came from a very close knit church and everyone knew each other well. Moving away from the church had hurt almoe the whole family. It wasn t long before my parents decided we needed to find another church to go to, especially since I still needed to finish my conformation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The total DFPR production time for an order was determined to be 47.40 minutes, which equated to a daily capacity of 10.13 orders (81 boards). Further analysis of DFPR production times (as shown in Exhibit 6) revealed that production time increases at a decreasing rate as order size increased. Additionally, daily DFPR capacity, as measured in number of boards, increases at an increasing rate as the order size is increased (See Exhibit 7). This correlates to DFPR production time per board being significantly reduced as the order size is increased. Thus, it is easy to see why a bottleneck might sometimes occur in the DFPR area of there are several small orders going through back to back. If viewed in the same manner as costs in economics, the setup time in this operation can be viewed as a fixed cost incurred regardless of production amount. The rum time can be viewed as variable costs that are incurred at an incremental rate as production is increased. Thus, smaller orders have a higher percentage of their production time represented by setup time (fixed) as opposed to run time (variable). Question 4 A last useful analysis is to examine the standard labor times required for various order sizes. Exhibit 8 displays the total standard labor times for order sizes of 1 board, 8 boards, and 200 boards. As expected, total labor times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If my mother left me to go to another country when I was five, would I try to find her years later? Would the abandonment and neglect by my family members lead me to resort to drugs? Would I make an eighth attempt to cross the border of the United States after my first seven attempts failed? These, and many other questions, ran through my head as I read Enrique s Journey, the story of a Honduran teenage boy s attempt to reunite with his mother, Lourdes, after she leaves him for the United States. Lourdes, a single mother, leaves her children with obviously good intentions she wants to get a better job and send money back to her children, but it is hard not to resent her a little. As I was reading, I kept trying to think of ways Lourdes could have stayed with her family in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and still have sufficiently provided for them. Maybe there could have been a way, but Lourdes obviously did not think there was. Leaving her family is not easy for Lourdes; she cannot even take a picture of Enrique with her because it would make her too sad, but she feels that this is the only way to give her children more than she had. John Muir claims one of the reasons for my termination was due to a significant lack of productivity, yet doesn t have evidence to support that claim. It s impossible to falsify productivity due to weekly audits conducted by supervisors, which I review and sign. Enclosed are my productivity records submitted by Ann Marie Hartmann which proves the information on the termination letter was altered and fabricated to intentionally misrepresent the amount of work I completed. • 16. Malvolio Twelfth Night The role of Malvolio in Twelfth Night is, generally, being the target of Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria s pranks and foolishness. At the beginning of the play, he is very easy to find intolerable, due to his killjoy like behaviour and vanity. However, by the end of the play, the audience mostly feel sorry for him, because of the malicious way that Sir Toby and others treat Malvolio. Despite this, Malvolio is one of the main sources of comedy, due to his gullibility and, as some say, his foolishness . My argument is that Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria are the real fools of Twelfth Night Sir Toby in particular. Fool a person who acts unwisely or imprudently; a silly person. My first point is Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria are the real fools of Twelfth Night, since they create the foolishness, while Malvolio is simply a victim of their foolish behaviour. This foolish behaviour is the pranks that Sir Toby and others pull and Malvolio is a victim of it since he is the victim of all their pranks. For example, Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Maria forged a love letter from Olivia, addressed to M, O, A, I (Malvolio). In this letter, Olivia says Remember who commended thy yellow stockings, and wished to see thee ever cross gartered . Malvolio falls for this and wears cross gartered yellow stockings. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dr. Forsyth implements plenty of evidence as well as proven statistics to back up his outlook on these issues. The growth of human population is happening at an exponential rate, implying that in a short period of time population growth will double. We find it difficult to comprehend exponential growth, but it may prove to be our fatal blind spot [3]. When analysing the world s population over a long period of time, it took roughly 19,000 years for the world s population to go from 5million people to 500 million people in 1500 A.D. [4] With an estimated population of 7.5 billion people [5], for a period less than 1000 years, population increased more than 1500 times its size than it was in the 1500 s. In addition, on a more minute scale of time, in 1950 the world s population was roughly 2.5 billion people [6] in merely 50 years the world s population has tripled. With these statics, it is evident that the world s population is increasing at an incomprehensive rate. With populations at their peak, overconsumption is another problem this world faces, as Dr. Forsyth affirms humans consume far more than their fair share of the Earth s natural productivity. [7] Due to this over consumption of resources, there is a vast demand for cheap food which results in the clear cutting of large forest to generate room for new plantations of food. The animals all have very sad and helpless visages; it is clear that some of the animals have suffered from some bad injuries as if to display that they have been neglected. This aims to make the viewers very sad. This pulls at the heartstrings of most of viewers because almost everyone has had a family pet some time in their life. The viewers feel a sense of compassion and sadness for these sorrowful looking animals because they couldn t imagine of their pet had to go through abuse or neglect. Even if the viewer doesn t own a pet it s almost impossible to not feel sad for powerless animals that have had to go through such torment. The atrocities that were allowed to occur for hundreds of year are revolting to think about. History books and classes often detail the horrors of slavery, and the effects it had on our agricultural economy. However, they do not really explain why the practice of slavery was allowed to flourish in the colonies. They just present the facts of its occurrence. The blacks regardless of age or gender were always priced higher than their white counterparts, and the lengths of terms were absent. Their value was higher because their service was for life, explaining the absence of the length of term (Degler). Undoubtedly there are many more cases of blacks being treated as slaves and inferiors than there are of whites, even though there was a plethora of white servants. However, the presence of a large number of free Africans or those with defined terms of services shows us that the discrimination of blacks cannot be the sole cause of slavery. While slavery had definitely begun, it was not uniform or consistent by any means. Had there not been another factor involved, it is not unfathomable that different, albeit poorly treated, classes of Africans would have formed. Continuing on the last point, were it not for specific economic conditions, slavery would not have evolved into the enterprise that it did. The Handlins argue that blacks were just as unfree as the whites who were unfree were. They claim that economic circumstance was the reason that blacks were enslaved. Due to the tobacco revolution the planters needed more laborers. However, the Europeans had heard of the harsh treatment of servants. This dissuaded them to make the voyage to the colonies. Therefore, the owners had to make servitude more appealing so they lessened the terms and restricted punishment (Handlin). The blacks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed alliances with rival tribes, like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. He talks from a dumpster diver s perspective, and tries to prove that dumpster diving is resourceful. Eighner applies the three rhetorical appeals to establish his argument that dumpster diving is an ВЁhonorable nicheВЁ, although he uses ethos the most to support his position. To begin with, ethos was a big appeal that Eighner used to convince his readers that dumpster diving is an honorable activity. He begins to explain his own experience in dumpster diving, and how it is something honorable to him. Ethos is described as having, ВЁ... personal warmth, consideration of others, a good mind and solid learningВЁ (Fahnestock, 1). So, when arguing ethos, the person has to be relying and with experience. Eighner does give many examples from his personal perspective as a dumpster diver, and makes him a reliable source. In the short excerpt, ВЁOn Dumpster DivingВЁ, Eighner explains, ВЁ...and because I visited the dumpster regularly I knew what was fresh and what was yesterday sВЁ (24). As a person with experience in dumpster diving, he explains that he can tell the difference between what has been recently thrown away and what has already been there for a while, and with that he knows what is good to use and what is not. This is a good factor of dumpster diving because he does not need to spend any money like others, he just relies on what others throw away. Also, Eighner explains, The student does not know that, and since it is Daddy s money, the students decide not to take a chance (26). Eighner describes those who are unresourceful as rich, spoiled, kids that do not know how to occupy what they have wisely. In this case dumpster divers take advantage ... • 36. Relationship Of Themes Of Developmental Theories Essay Relationship of Themes to Developmental Theories First of all, loneliness, a first developmental theme addressed above can be related to John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s Attachment theory, where Amy is living with her estranged father after the death of her mother. Initially she spends most of her time living alone as she does not have any friends and her father is busy in his work. It s seems that both are not attached emotionally with each other which results in the manifestation of her affectionless psychopathy (an inability to show affection or concern for others) (McLeod, S. A. 2007). Therefore, according to Attachment Theory, a strong emotional and physical attachment to at least one primary caregiver is critical to personal development and long term consequences of parental deprivation might include delinquency, reduced intelligence, increased aggression, depression, affectionless psychopathy (McLeod, S. A. 2007). Secondly, the next developmental theme, mistrust can be related to the first stage of Erikson s psychosocial development, Trust vs. Mistrust, where initially Amy does not trust anyone. Because of death of her mother and, father who left Amy and his mother when she was 3 years of age, it seems like Amy did not get required care and attention from the parents which might be the root cause of her mistrust. Theme Of Archetypes In Romeo And Juliet Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who was the founder analytical psychology, once stated: The contents of the collective unconscious are archetypes, primordial images that reflect basic patterns that are common to us all, and which have existed universally since the dawn of time (Carl Gustav Jung). Originally published in 1597, William Shakespeare devised a renowned play about two star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare harnessed this knowledge in order to convey his ideas with text that ensured the readers understood his story and could base a personal interpretation from it. Thus, after analyzing the dreams of schizophrenic patients, ancient symbolism, mythology, religion, biology, and evolution, one can come to the conclusion that each of these areas can, in fact, be proven to have a correlating relationship with the human psyche, adapting to its conditions yet never losing its mutual and uniting bond through time and ... Joseph Von Faunhofer Research Paper Joseph von Fraunhofer was a German optician and physicist who discovered and influenced how astronomers view the dark line spectrum, the spectrum of the sun and the diffraction of light. On March 6, 1787 in Straubing, Bavaria, Joseph Ritter von Fraunhofer was born into a poor family where his father Franz Xaver Fraunhofer was a watch glass maker. At the age of 10, Joseph s mother, Maria Anna Frohlich passed away, and only a year after his father died. This left Fraunhofer orphaned and forced him to start working as an apprentice for a harsh lens maker named Philipp Anton Weichelsberger. This was appropriate because since the age of 10 Joseph was already working in his familys workshop. Weichelsberger used Fraunhofer primarily as slave labor, often driving him to near starvation and exhaustion. However, on July 21, 1801, the workshop in which Fraunhofer was working in collapsed. • 48. Creating And Developing A Group Dance Performance With A... Demonstrate an understanding of the processes involved in creating and developing a group dance performance with a particular focus on choreography Introduction Choreography is the act of creating movement to produce dance. It is a creative process that requires knowledge of how the process functions (Minton, 2007). Smith Autard (2010) believes there is a vast difference between dancing and choreographing. Dancing can be enjoyed for pleasure and the expression of feeling but to choreograph movement is to create a work of art (Smith Autard, 2010: 3). According to Smith Autard, (2010) a work of art has to be created with the composer s intention to communicate a theme or emotion. The movement content is an abstraction from actual feelings of the choreographer, or the character of the dance that is being portrayed, which creates a representation of the work that is significant to the dance idea as an entity. Composition is the bringing together of smaller sections that can be worked on to create one overall piece. The process of refinement and reflection to develop choreography demonstrates how composition begins as small sections of movement. Basic compositional elements include space, time and theme (Lambert, 2015). Improvisation is a way of exploring new methods of movement it is a method of self expression and discovery. Nonetheless, Becket was correct in believing his faithfulness in the church came before the King, because of how overwhelmingly prominent religionwas to the people s lives, Henry gave Becket the role directly, and Henry didn t care that it would ruin their friendship because Henry was so power hungry.
