Selma Persuasive Speech
The strength of a speech does not come from the strength of a person s voice, but the strength comes
from the passion of the speaker towards the subject. The film Selma directed by Ana DuVernay,
portrays the story of Martin Luther King Jr. s struggle to achieve voting rights in the south for African
Americans. In the film, two speeches that King spoke caught my attention, they are Give Us the Vote
and Who Murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson? . After analyzing both speeches, I have found that both are
very similar as they both are relatable by directing his speeches towards his audience emotions, how
he persuades his audience to fight for their rights through protest, and how he is able to express his
own beliefs in his speeches to further support his argument favoring voting rights. One of the first
speeches that King does in the beginning of the film is Give Us the Vote which focuses on him telling
his audience that they need to fight for their rights. In his speech, King evokes the audience s emotions
by describing how children are also being targeted for hate crimes and he introduces this by saying,
We see children become victims of one of the most vicious crimes...within the halls of their own
church! . This is important because he uses children to connect to the audience s emotions, allowing
them to understand that if they do not fight for their rights their children will also become victims.
Similarly, in his other speech, Who Murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson? , King talks

The Impact Of Russia s Arms Trade In Russia
European market. With these two large investments and the opportunity for Russia to expand its oil
power. That is why Russia has invested it s self economically in the current civil war that is ripping
Syria apart.
Weapons of War The top Russian exported item is oil, but in the realm of diversity the next major
export is Arms or war. According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute in appendix A
figure 3 shows how big of a market the arms trade is for Russia. And according to President Putin in
2015 Russia s arms exports surged to around 56 billion dollars in revenue. Russia s arms trade is so
enormous, because it is in competition with the United States, which is the world leader in the arms
trade. If a country is banned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Russia is gaining revenue by a constant war, it will prosper more in the reconstruction
phase. Once the civil war ends Russia will have the sole rights for future arms to fill the void caused
by the war. Russia will have the opportunity to send military advisors and trainers. Also, Russia will
be locked in with maintenance contract and parts to fix the military equipment that Syria has bought.
The Russians have taken the chance to grow its arms trade in the Syrian conflict by selling to both
sides increasing its income. Even though the market in Syria is boosting Russian arms exports, the
conflict in Syria is greatly advancing the arms trade in another way. Since the cold war Russia and the
United States haven t clashed in any major conflict. When Syria s civil war erupted Assad forces
bought Russian made arms and the opposition forces acquired U.S. made arms. The whole episode
was a chance to see what happens when state of the art hardware from two major world powers
violently collide in the Middle East (Mirovalev 2016). An example that Mirovalev uses is a T 90,
which is one of Russia s most advanced tanks, it was hit by a US made BGM 71 TOW missile. The
after effect was the tank withstood the explosion without igniting allowing the crew to exit without
any injuries. This example is important because it shows the effectiveness of both

Fruit Mold Lab Report
Fruit Molds
Brenna Rivera
November 29, 2016
Anaruth Alfaro
Abstract
In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different environments to asses
which fruit would have the most mold and in which environment the mold would be present the most.
For the experiment we used fruits that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non
organic fruit. Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that
peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot the most in our
warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed over a period of weeks. At the end
of this period of time the peaches had rotted the most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were
the first to go.
Introduction
After learning about different types of mold in lab as well as in lecture, my group and I were interested
in studying mold more. We wanted to know which fruits from our selected few would rot the most and
in which environment would they be most likely to rot or mold in. We learned ... Show more content

We will also see if there is any big difference between organic and inorganic fruit. According to our
lab on fungus we already knew what the mold would look like so we were pretty confident that we
would be able to identify it without a problem (lab 17 The Kingdom Fungi). With our own knowledge
we hypothesized that that out of the tomatoes, peaches, and apples that the peaches would rot the most
and that they would rot the most while in the incubator (an environment which is approximately 90
degrees Fahrenheit). About a month later and having observed our fruits in various increments we
found that the peaches and the tomatoes were pretty close together but they peaches ultimately molded
the most and molded the most within the

Research Paper On Mobility Scooter
INTRODUCTION:
A mobility scooter is a mobility aid similar to a wheelchair but configured like a motor scooter. It is
often referred to a power operated vehicle or electric scooter.
A mobility scooter has a seat over two rear wheels, a flat area for the feet and handlebars in front to
turn one or two steerable wheels. The seat may swivel to allow access when the front is blocked by the
handlebars. Mobility scooters are usually battery powered. A battery or two is stored on board the
scooter and is charged via an onboard or separate battery charger unit from standard electric power.
Gasoline powered scooters are also available; through they are rapidly being replaced by electric
models.
Assistive and small sit down motor scooters provide important advantages to people with mobility
problems throughout the world. A scooter is useful for persons without the stamina or arm/shoulder
flexibility necessary to use a manual wheelchair. Also, swiveling the seat of an electric scooter is
generally easier than moving conventional wheelchairs. A mobility scooter is very helpful for persons
with systemic or whole body disabling conditions who are still able to stand and walk a few steps, sit
upright without torso support and control the steering tiller.

The Causes Of Haiti s Underdevelopment
It is an established understanding that the progression of society in terms of growth and development
have been shaped vastly in both physical and social aspects. Although the flow of progression is
continuous in developed societies, it is evident that certain countries are not progressing as they are
affected by the outcomes of poverty. These countries are more greatly impacted when natural disasters
occur as they lack in infrastructure, have weak buildings, crowded population densities and have poor
support from the government (Cite 1).
In 2010, Haiti experienced an earthquake, leaving the capital, Port au Prince and the surrounding cities
devastated. This took the lives of many individuals and shook the country physically and ... Show

Amartya Sen, an economist and international development theorist, found that the development of any
nation is based the ideological principles of education, health and income. Modernization theory
emphasizes that the underdevelopment of a nation is due to the solidification of tradition values, and
the concurrent disregard for the need for modern education practices. The impact of this is seen
through the thoughts by Isbister who states while the third world is out of commitment towards areas
of science and technology, countries on the northern hemisphere are showing prosperity both
economically and in quality of life (Isbister). Education is a vital catalyst to initiate growth in a
country s level of infrastructure. Educated individuals become aware of scientific and technical
knowledge that leads to a more skilled population/workforce, which developed nations relay on in our
current industrialized economy. According to David Brooks, Haiti s deprived level of development is
due to its lacking primitive infrastructure. Brooks argues that . It s a story about poorly constructed
buildings..[and] bad infrastructure (Brooks). It can be said the poor infrastructure in Haiti is due to the
inability to create quality buildings and other stable components with the level of qualified personal.
This could be due to the lack of education practices, emphasized by Brooks. Brooks mentioned that

The Need for Policy Makers to Regulate Human Genetic...
Human genetic engineering (HGE), a prevalent topic for scientists in research, is the process of
manipulating genes in the human genome. Potentially, scientists can use the process of HGE to alter
many biological and psychological human traits by gene modification. Currently, however, there is a
large deficiency in information regarding HGE and its effects to the human body; creating a need for
scientists to conduct more research and tests. Because of the many unknowns involving HGE it is
necessary for policy makers to regulate HGE for the use by scientists. The first part of this paper will
provide an overview of what HGE is and the processes involved with the technology of HGE. This
paper will then analyze the potential risks associated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gyngell s article analyzes the potential for HGE to increase the human life span, while providing a
description of the process of HGE and predicting that HGE may eliminate disease via gene selection.
Both of these articles provide credible and informative arguments that illustrate many different aspects
of the potential impacts of HGE. HGE modifies the genomes of humans to produce a specific
phenotype (a set of observable characteristics of an organism) or genotype (genetic constitution of an
organism) that embodies desirable characteristics [1]. Therefore, HGE differs from archaic processes
of selective breeding and artificial selection because it directly alters genes. The main focuses of HGE
research are genes that code for immunity, cognitive abilities, and psychological mentality. The use of
HGE in gametes and early development embryos is of particular interest to scientists because of its
potential to grant them control over heritable traits. This ability can have great impact on the future of
evolution because it provides humans with the control of the production of combinations of genes that
would otherwise be unachievable. The potential for this level of control creates a need for regulation
by policy makers, who have an obligation to consider the risks, and the benefits that coincide with the
future of HGE. The development of more information and technology continues to increase the
potential for scientists to manipulate complex

Urban Runoff Is The Primary Source Of Ocean Pollution
The oceans need to be protected because it is where life began and if not taken care of, life as we
know it will end. The well being of the ocean is constantly being threatened and needs to stop. When
dangerous substances go into the ocean, ecosystems suffer and become endangered along with the
lives of people and marine life. The importance of protecting and preserving the quality and
biodiversity of the world s coasts must be recognized because they are truly irreplaceable. If humans
are not educated , and become careless about what is thrown on the ground or sprayed on lawns,
disastrous effects follow when it comes to the condition of the ocean s ecosystems, which can
endanger life itself, leading to a problem only we can correct. There is historical evidence of ocean
pollution, although the problem still shadows us today. One of the most poorly understood causes
ocean pollution is urban runoff. Urban runoff is also one of the leading causes of ocean pollution,
Surfrider agrees, Urban runoff is often the primary source of ocean pollution. The Ocean Friendly
Gardens (OFG) Program educates and assists people in creating landscapes that utilize native plants,
permeable ground covers and water retention features to prevent urban runoff, create wildlife habitats
and design beautiful spaces (Surfrider). Surfrider has a program called The Ocean Friendly Gardens
where Surfrider goes to different areas that are more prone to urban runoff and creates a garden using

William Shakespeare s Hamlet
Clarice Paul
Mr. Lopes
ENG3U1 06
1/14/15
Human beings strive to have better knowledge and intellect in their daily lives. However, can the
power of intelligence be considered a negative aspect? In the play, Hamlet written by William
Shakespeare, the topic of intelligence is a predominant theme that is woven through two of the main
characters: Hamlet and Claudius. Although Hamlet and Claudius are sworn enemies, they are much
more similar in character than meets the eye. Even though Hamlet appears to be insane, he actually
deceives the other characters to retaliate his father s wicked murder. Hamlet s strong use of words and
his significant soliloquies shows that he is well aware of what is happening around him. Similarly,
Claudius is truly the king of deception and trickery. Although, he seems to have the whole kingdom
fooled about his identity, Hamlet is the only one who is able to use his intelligence to see through the
King s façade. Similarly, Hamlet s insanity appears to deceive everyone, except Claudius, who
believes there is something more to it. Both Claudius and Hamlet use intelligence to gain power, to
discover the concealed truth, and ultimately to get revenge.
Firstly, Hamlet and Claudius use intelligence to gain power. Claudius murders his own brother to
accumulate power and seize the throne of Denmark. He pretends to mourn the loss of his brother when
he says, though the passing of our dear brother s death, the memory be green, and that it us befitted, to

Early Disclosure, Violence, And Violence
Early disclosure to violence may possibly lead to aggression in young preschoolers. Research stated
that exposure to violence in adolescence at a young age may lead to aggression in school age youths.
Aggression and violence may not be as serious for some individuals and it s often considered a part of
growing up as a child. Aggression can be understood in a range of ways. It can be conceptualized as
ones personality trait or having origins within a difficult temperament. In other words, aggression and
violence within an adolescent can be inherent to the individual. Aggression may also reflect a
behavioral pattern that can be attributed to a syndrome, such as Lesch Nyhan syndrome, which occurs
in males. A wide spectrum of aggressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Preschoolers have to learn positive behavioral roles in the classroom to decease violence and
aggression toward one another and toward the teacher. Parents and teachers must place children in
environments that offer a setting and support for learning positive social behavior rather than
aggressive, unfriendly, unsociable acts. Preschoolers are self centered and have not developed all the
brain connections needed to see another s point of view. Preschoolers have that mindset of mine which
makes it compatible that everything belongs to themselves. Preschoolers or other young children in
general see all or nothing. Children do not understand that an individual is not all good or not all bad.
Young children also cannot sort out fantasy from reality and get diverse up about what is real on
television.
The temperament of a terrible two is commonly a completely accepted manner. The aggression
behavior linked with these tantrums dealing with throwing objects and kicking is therefore better
tolerated. The notion of these specific progressive stages when a child may escalate or decline their
aggressions that may cause violence can be supported. These symptoms could change with
developmental capability in motor and cognitive domains. A motor skilled toddler can throw objects at
siblings with intention to hurt, and a bothered preschooler can effortlessly jab his classmate with a

The Pros And Cons Of Print Journalism
As previously mentioned, graphic journalism is not the only medium which uses both text and image
in order to communicate and convey information print journalism also incorporates visual language
into the work, because according to the research people are more likely to read a story accompanied
by a photograph (Wolf Grotta 1985, in Nyberg 2006: 100), but actually does it in a completely
different way. While the news photograph is ancillary to the text (Nyberg 2006: 100) and plays a
supportive accompanying role, in comics journalism illustrations and text are integrated and
equivalent, working together to compose a narrative and create a coherent whole, but remaining
distinct from each other. Moreover, a photograph usually stands alone seeming to capture the whole
story in a single moment (Williams 2005: 55), and though has the capacity to draw attention and cause
a viewer s reaction, it cannot by itself provide an interpretation or create a narrative coherence,
requiring captions and descriptions to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas words are a cerebral means of communication intended to describe and narrate, engaging
with morally serious content (Meskin 2001: 7), pictures perform visualization for the events, people
and places by actually resembling the objects they represent (Nyberg 2006: 101) and hence are more
precise and holistic than linear text. As comics journalism is the conjunction of visual and verbal, it is
important to examine and analyze the very relationship between these two elements and how they
influence each other while working together, considering both positive and discrediting

Essay on The Five Pillars of Islam
Islam is a religion of peace. There are 5 pillars of Islam which are mandatory. The five pillars are,
Shahadah, Salat, Zakat, Sawm, and Hajj, I will define the five pillars now.
1. Shahadah: Beleiving that there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad [peace be upon him] is his last
messanger.
2. Salat: It is the prayers muslims offer five times a day, Fajr, zuhr, asr, maghrib and isha.
3. Zakat: It is to give 2.5% annually of one s saving to the needy people.
4. Sawm: Fasting during the month of Ramadan to learn to have a control over yourself.
5. Hajj: To go to Mekkah and Medina to perform pilgrimage once in a life time at least, if you can
afford it.

Abu Talib was very dear to Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him], but he did not accept Islam. He
started taking care of the prophet since Muhammad [peace be upon him] was about eight years old.
The prophet tried to convince his uncle to accept Islam and recite Shahadah till his uncles last breath,
but he didn t. He was a true Qurayshi. He refused because he claimed that the Quraysh would mock
him and accuse him of saying the shahada because he fears death.

Essay on The Beatles
The Beatles
One of the most influential groups of the 20th Century the Beatles revolutionized rock and roll into
what we know it as today. Not only were they great musicians, they wrote and composed each of their
songs. The band proved to be popular and exciting causing mass hysteria at each of their public
performances. The Fab Four s talent was so great that the phenomenon was termed Beatlemania in
Britain and eventually erupted in the United States being called the British Invasion of the Beatles
(Britannica Online, 2005).
The Beatles was composed of four members: Paul McCartney (born June 18, 1942), John Lennon
(born October 9, 1940), George Harrison (born February, 25, 1943), and Ringo Starr (born Richard

1963 proved to be the beginning of the Beatles phenomenon with the release of their hit Please Please
Me . This hit topped the British charts early in 1963 and remained there for 30 weeks (Unterberger,

trying new ideas and adding a new flare to their music. Each of the albums showed a progression of
the artists.
Beatlemania broke out in Britain in late 1963 with the release of the songs She Loves You and I Want
to Hold Your Hand with each single selling over a million copies (Unterberger, 2005). The British
Invasion in the United States began in late 1963 when Capitol records first released I Want to Hold
Your Hand . In a short time the song was at the top of the record charts. Many would say that
Beatlemania officially occurred in the United States when the Beatles made their first appearance on
the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 (Unterberger, 2005). It didn t take long for their popularity to soar in the
U. S. with best selling singles and albums. This dominance of the music industry was unparalleled by
any artist at the time and probably even today.
The Beatles expanded their music success to the movie industry with the making of A Hard Day s

albums and singles. Help! was another musical film that featured the

However, in many places in the world right now and in Shakespeare s time, not everyone had this
right and were restricted to speak their mind. Except Feste the clown. In Twelfth Night, we can see
that the only position that isn t high ranking and were allowed to say what they wanted was a jester
(fool). For example, while talking to Olivia, he says The more fool, madonna, to mourn for your
brother s soul being in heaven. Take the fool away, gentlemen, which means he is saying that Olivia is
stupid for mourning for her brother, something a normal citizen at the time wouldn t have been able to
say. From this, is it clear that he uses his profession as a figurative mask to excuse a lot of what he
says. Although Feste is a clown, he is one of Shakespeare s ironies meaning that he is very intelligent
on the inside, thus a lot of what he says is true. This relates to the Essential Question because many
people in real life do/did not have this basic human right. For example, in World War II, the Nazi s
restricted the Jews to have rights and wanted to rid the entire race. The only way the Jews could
protect themselves is to disguise themselves as another race. This helped the Jews gain rights of

The War Measures Act During The September Crisis
Pierre Trudeau is one of Canada s most renowned Prime Ministers. He was in office April 20, 1968, to
June 4, 1979, and later on March 3, 1980, to June 30, 1984,.¹ An event that Pierre Trudeau is well
known for is the enactment of the War Measures Act during the October Crisis. This decision to
invoke the War Measures Act during the October Crisis has led to a great deal of controversy on
whether the act was justified. The October Crisis was a series of events in October 1970, these events
began with the kidnappings of James Cross and later Pierre Laporte by the group known as the FLQ
(Front de libération du Québec) the group s main goals were to create an independent Quebec.2 The
group resorted to terrorist acts in order to achieve those goals, this later led to Prime Minister Pierre
Trudeau invoking the War Measures Act. The War Measures Act was a federal statute adopted by
parliament during WWI and has been used 3 times; during WWI, WWII and during the October
Crisis. The act gives major power to the Canadian government to uphold security during times of great
distress.3 Pierre Trudeau was justified in enacting the War Measures Act during the October Crisis.
One reason that Pierre Trudeau was justified in invoking the War Measures Act is that the FLQ was
essentially a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths and injuries of countless people. Since
the group was formed in the early 1960 s, the terrorist group s acts had only worsened from mailbox

Examples Of Mental Illness In The Tell Tale Heart
Schizophrenia Character Diagnosis
Edgar Allan Poe is a world renowned author, whose works are taught in schools and universities
across the United States and the world. His works of literature encompasses an array of complex and
diverse characters. Poe s writing often explored the mysterious topic of mental illness. One character
that exhibits a mental illness is the narrator in one of his most popular and well known short stories.
The narrator of Edgar Allan Poe s short story The Tell Tale Heart suffers from the mental illness
schizophrenia, which in turn causes him to fixate on murdering the old man and motivates his actions
throughout the whole story.
In the story The Tell Tale Heart the narrator tries to convince the readers that he is not insane by
explaining how well thought out his pre meditated murder plan is. The narrator then explains how he

Catatonia is associated with mental diseases, usually schizophrenia, and involves the subject to be

story he claims [After awakening the old man] I kept quite still and said nothing. For a whole hour I
did not move a muscle, and in the meantime I did not hear him lie down (Poe). This provides another
example of him being immobile for an extremely long period of time. His catatonia is obviously not in

The Characters in A Streetcar Named Desire Essay

reality, honesty and lies. However, sexuality, violence, and social differences also shape the action of
the plot, in which they contribute to the effect of the characters of the play. The three main characters,
Blanche Dubois, Stella Kowalski, and Stanley Kowalski, have different ways of dealing with the said
conflicts in their harsh surroundings in which they live in, as they all face different crisis. Blanche,

She later discovers Allan s homosexuality and when she confronts him about it, he commits suicide.
Blanche has been haunted with the guilt of her husband s death ever since. This perhaps has motivated
a lot of her actions. Allan s death demonstrates the end of Blanche s sexual innocence as she is
constantly in search of comfort and kindness, which she receives while meeting with strangers . She
has also lost her job as a schoolteacher when her affair with a young student was exposed to the school
and the people of Laurel, and led to her exile. All of these events point to the fact that Blanche is a
social outcast due to her continuous sexual behaviour. As the play develops, the reader can
comprehend that Blanche is less proper and superior as she portrays herself to be. Blanche, herself, is
ashamed of her true identity and life, so she tends to keep her past life a secret. She is also realising
that she is aging very quickly and fears of losing her beauty. Her insecurities and infirmities lead her
to find comfort in a world of illusion which she creates herself, as she refuses to face reality. By
creating her own world, Blanche is able to close her eyes on reality and expand her imagination to
build the mental self esteem she needs to survive. She admitted herself when she said I do not want
realism, I want magic! (Williams, 117) that she would rather live in her made believe world than in the
harsh reality surrounding her. Her fantasies

Jeffrey Macdonald Murder Case
Jeffrey Robert MacDonald was a U.S. Army officer and a medical doctor who was convicted in 1979

is because this murder case is said to be one of America s most enduring murder mysteries and the
main topic of a best selling book. Not only this, but I also chose this case because it took about 9 years
for Macdonald to be finally convicted and the U.S army got involved and made their own

Benefits Of Lactobacillus Casei
The bacteria, Lactobacillus Casei, is a good bacteria. That means that this bacteria is helpful and does
not harm society or the human body. This bacteria is rod shaped and is generally found in the human
intestines or mouth as well as fermented plant products. However, this bacteria is also found in dairy
products as well as intestinal tracts in animals. This bacteria is also non sporing, non motile, anaerobic,
and does not contain cytochromes. The Lactobacillus Casei produces lactic acids that are helpful, For
example, the lactic acids help create diary products such as cheeses and yogurts. The Lactobacillus
Casei also has digestive benefits, allergy benefits, improves immunity, and improves cholesterol
levels.

Nt1310 Unit 1 Network Analysis
Written Assignment Unit 1
In general, on the internet, every packet follows 5 layers of structures (Application, Transport,
Network, Data Link, and Physical). Since I have to talk about Connection Oriented and
Connectionless as a service, I will focus on the Transport layer because they are part of this layer. It
allows multiple applications to use one network connection simultaneously, the layer will create ports
on your computer allowing them to be reserved and used by the Application layer. Let s say that port
3600 will be used to send a message to port 80 of some other computer, whenever the port is ready to
send a message, it passed on to Transport layer. In this layer, it wraps the message inside the Segment

Also, UDP is connectionless which means that there is no need for creating a connection first before
sending out data and have more control over when data is sent out. Because data corruption is a
common occurrence on the internet, UDP has a primitive form of error detection but it is not that
reliable because it doesn t recover the error it just will be discarded. Even if the network is busy, UDP
will try to cram packets in the network and this is a bad strategy because it will cause more collisions.
Here where TCP comes, for having certain features that make the connection more reliable. However,
it also has a bigger communication over than UDP. TCP s connection is based on negotiating first
before doing anything, this known as the three way handshake. If any error is detected, TCP offers
retransmission when a receiver doesn t get a delivery a package. So, it will send it again guaranteeing
your data to reach its destination in time and without duplication. Since all the work is done by the
operating system, It automatically breaks up data into packets for you. So you just need to sit back and
watch the show. Even the debugging is taken care of by your OS and if there are bugs in your OS, then
you will face many problems like problems in surfing and downloading contents from the net. I do
prefer the TCP service because it does all the work for you

Who s For The Game By Jessie Pope Analysis
Everywhere there is a place where a person is lost, whether it is because of natural cause or it is
because of murder or suicide. In reality, there is a situation where something is always lost and gone
forever. This zone is called war. One true concept is that war are fought to determine something or is
war an area for a blood bath? War can be considered to some people as painful, but are there people in
the this world that would scrutinize this as fun? There are two poems, Who s for the Game? by Jessie
Pope and Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, that contradict each other tremendously, but they
both talk about war.
In Who s for the Game? , the point of view of Jessie Pope is that war should be something that is fun

Wilfred is showing us the experience he had in World War 1 All went lame; all blind Drunk with
fatigue Of tired, outstripped Five Nines that dropped behind. This is the beginning before the attack
and it explains how the soldiers just came back from war and is all tired and stripped from everything.
Almost like they are zombie men stumbling with no control over their own body. Five Nines is the
bullet that is 5.9in in diameter that is used to deliver chlorine gas. The second part If in some
smothering dreams you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, tells us that the painful
memories of the war will always be there and never end. The word you attempts to describe to us the
feeling he had when he was there, but most people cannot convey the full experience. He is saying
that most people do not understand war unless they have been there. Lastly The old Lie; Dulce et
Decorum est Pro patria mori. This means that It is sweet and right to die for your country is a lie. This
whole poem shows how excruciating it is to lose a person on the battlefield, so in the end, it proves
that dieing for your country is worse than you can anticipate. Going back to the quote that explains
how we will never experience something others have experienced unless we were actually there,

Galavant fails Sid because he is too unmotivated to teach his squire what he needs to progress. In the
beginning of the episode Pilot, Sid has to drag Galavant out of bed while he complains about Sid

Sid s quest because a squire is someone in training to become a knight. Galavant s job as Sid s mentor
is to teach him everything he needs to know about knighthood. However, Galavant occupies himself

In the wedding scene of Pilot, the camera pans to Madalena multiple times as Galavant speaks. Her
facial expressions show that she is realizing she actually has options that don t include Galavant, a
sign that she lacked agency in her relationship with him. By finally being in a position where she can
use her agency instead of being spoken for by Galavant, Madalena says what she wants to do and is
not overshadowed by him. Because he continuously tried to speak for Madalena, Galavant failed her
by believing that just because he always thinks about Madalena and loves her she will automatically
come back to him like he is the only objective she has in life. Galavant never giving Madalena a
chance to speak for herself is a hindrance to her quest for power and his own quest for self knowledge.
Also in the wedding scene of Pilot, Galavant speaks for Madalena during his monologue, which shows
that even though he loves her, Galavant is inconsiderate of the fact she is her own person and not just
his lady love. As soon as Galavant interrupts the wedding between King Richard and Madalena, he
starts talking about himself and how he is certain Madalena will choose him because she loves him as
much as he loves her. By expecting her to come back like an object that belongs to him, he is not

36). It has been established that addiction is related to several genes and that no one gene is considered
a genetic marker for identifying those whom are at risk for developing alcoholism. E.M. Jellinek has
been called the father of alcohol studies because his work has played a primary role in the shift from
alcoholism as viewed as a defect, to alcoholism as understood, recognized, and treated in the illness
and disease model. The disease model suggests that addiction is an illness. It proposes that addiction
and alcoholism are a result of the impairment of healthy neurochemical or behavioral processes. The
disease model is widely leveraged in therapeutic settings and it actually forms the basis for Alcoholics
Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Nar Anon.
As alcohol dependence and addiction has been categorized as a disease, it has opened up numerous
possibilities for treatment which were formerly nonexistent. Jellinek was a trained biostatistician who
effectively established a definite patter to the appearance of the symptoms of alcoholism. He also
explained that there was progression of the disease in terms of increasing dysfunction. He further
identified the symptoms and signs of alcoholism (which tend to cluster together), which is also applied
to addiction. Jellinek developed the idea of the four phases of alcohol addiction:

The Impact Of Digital Technology On Society
With new technical breakthroughs happening every minute, technology is advancing far beyond our
imagination. The internet has become increasingly accessible with new smartphones and smart
devices, and with them came new social media applications. Social media has now become a large
factor in the lives of many people across the globe as a means of finding and distributing information.
People spend more and more time on the internet, and less time having face to face human
interactions. Instead of human interactions and networking, popularity and social status is now based
on friends on Facebook, followers on Twitter, and Instagram likes . The lack of meaningful social
interactions has caused an increase in mental health issues such as social anxiety and depression, and
adversely impacts human society. Digital technology negatively affects happiness because it causes
loneliness, mental illness and a disconnection from the real world. Social platforms negatively affect
happiness because it causes loneliness. As social media becomes more pronounced in our daily lives,
the further apart we grow from each other physically and the closer we become on the internet. A
person might have 2,000 friends on Facebook but in reality has no real friends to connect with on a
more personal level. The phrase, your real friends, captures the anxieties that social media have
produced: the fears that Facebook along with other social media platforms is interfering with our real
friendships,

Group dynamics The Breakfast Club Essay
Whether groups are formed for social or task oriented purposes, the ability to produce and maintain a
sense of affiliation, peer support and collaboration is important for overall group functioning. The
cohesion of a social group is produced through the establishment of a set of group norms, which are
later defined as a guide for conduct accepted within a group of individuals. However, in order for a
group to perform and produce results, the team leader should guide his/her team through the proper
stages of group development, which includes the following steps: forming, storming, norming,
performing and adjourning. Although teams should follow all these stages of group development, the
forming and the norming stages are the most important, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this stage, the group begins to realize the more positive points of individuals within the group,
which promotes the development of trust and respect which begins to build group cohesion. The next
stage is the performing stage, which is typical of high performing teams that are able to function as a
group and figure out various options to get the job done smoothly and effectively without supervision.
The final stage is the adjourning phase, which is the final step in completing tasks and breaking up the
team.
The groups that are formed as adolescents often determine group associations as adults and define an
individual within their social group that will either set them with or against other groups. This is
described in an article on social groupings by Colin Allen, which mentions that our social associations
as adolescents are strong indicators to future patterns of social norms as adults. Therefore, the group of
students in the movie, The Breakfast Club, can also be extrapolated to adult group dynamics.
However, the varying social norms between groups can present conflicts when adults are required to
function within a very diverse group of individuals. In The Breakfast Club, the Jock, Geek, Prom
Queen, Delinquent, and the Freak groups are brought together initially through an autocratic or
directive leadership role, used to bring the group together in order to proceed to the next phase of
group development. This stage is particularly important within a group of

The Popularity Of Popular Culture
Rashed Noorzaye

American popular culture Popular culture is made by the mainstream to influencing minds to like
something. It describes the life style and tastes of the majority of mostly younger people. Some
random popular culture these past few years would be; The Hunger Games, dubstep, raving, Illuminati
theories, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Gucci, Polo, and these are just a few things from popular culture
these past years. Popular culture affected me in many ways. I would say comic books and super hero
movies impacted me the most. Being grown with my mom and dad buying me Marvel comic books
and for most times DC comic books as well. With movies coming out like Hulk, Spider Man, Iron
Man, and many more. In my opinion I would say the Hero phase is the most popular trend. I say it s
the most popular because society looks up to these people and want to help people out or whatever
impact it has on them. Another thing from popular culture that I like is the music from the 90 s. Hip
hop back then was real and ignorant. 90 s rap music has been my favorite since I was young . But now
a days rap music is just for the audiences that are young. I been involved with almost anything in our
culture . Games have been a big one too. Nintendo has set a lot of trends in the world. They showed
up and brought up real entertainment. It doesn t matter how old you are too , you can still play those
video games, read comic books, watch movies, and tell those

Sjogren s Syndrome
Sjogren s Syndrome is an auto immune disorder that affects the entire body. The immune system
protects our bodies from disease and infection, but with an autoimmune disease, the immune system
attacks healthy cells in the body by mistake (Autoimmune Diseases, 2017). In Sjogren s syndrome, the
immune system attacks the glands that make tears and saliva. (Sjogren s Syndrome, 2017). Pathogenic
organisms and other foreign substances are detected by T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes because
they contain antigens (McKinley, et al, p. 684). The immune system is generally very effective in

The movie that I had selected to watch is called Blind Side . This movie is based off a real story about
a boy named Michael Oher who was a black youth living in homelessness and grew up without his
mother. He experienced many traumatizing events of separation but ended up going to Wingate
Christian School where he met Leigh Anne Tuohy. Through series of events, Michael was eventually
adopted into Leigh s family and was accepted as her son. She encouraged and supported Michael to

In the beginning of the movie, Michael was tested of his personality. Though he score extremely low
in all aspects and areas of the test, he scored over 95% in protective instinct. When Michael started to
play football, he had a rough start. He was uncertain of the concept and strategies. He did not
understand how to block opponents and was yelled by the coach many times. However, the yelling did
not help him improve. Instead, he became more confused. This was not Michaels learning behaviour
so whenever he was coached in this specific way, he was not able to absorb anything that the coach
had mentioned to help him improve. That was until Leigh stepped in. When Leigh observed how
Michael was doing, she saw the flaw of how Michael was being coached. She took action and
considered Michael s personality in account to how he performs. As mentioned above, in the
beginning the school board had taken his personality test and scored 98% in protective instinct. Leigh
used this opportunity to connect both Michael s personality and sports to teach him how to block. She
related the football players to the family that he cares for. When Leigh and Michael first interacted, he
brought her to the area he was born in. That area is known for violence and surrounded by those who
live in poverty. While walking with Leigh around that neighbourhood, Michael promised to protect
her if anything were to happen. Additionally, while S.J and Michael were in a car accident, Michael
protected S.J by stopping the airbag from making contact with him. Leigh used these situations to
exemplify that the team is Michael s family and it is his job to protect them from their opponents. She
then illustrated that the quarterback is who he needed to protect as if the quarterback was Leigh
herself. She continued by displaying that when Michael sees his

The Origins and Developments of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Contemporary Nightlife
Musical Culture
The origins and developments of Electronic Dance Music initially started with the development of the
synthesizer. It was with these first uses of synthesized sounds that prompted the development of
sequencers, sampling, effects processing, musical instrument digital interface (MIDI), use of computer
technology, hard disk recording systems and modern day virtual studio technology (VST s). These all
fundamentally build the genre of electronic music, as we know it today. The development of this new
technology brought many new genres to music, mostly popular, Electronic Dance Music being one of
these.

At the time, British inventor, Peter Zinovieff and American Composer, Raymond Scott were both
looking into basic electronic sequencing, however it was Buchla that had the initial breakthrough.
Before then, artists were manually cutting up and splicing tape together to achieve sequences and
Buchla found an electronic alternative and soon developed his electronic sequencer. This meant that
artists would no longer need to go through the time consuming process of cutting up tape for
sequencing. Buchla said, you could simply take my sequencer and set the time and the pitch for each
interval. So that required, of course, a voltage controlled oscillator, and from then it led to a bunch of
other ideas (Pinch, 2004, p.40).
It was after the moog synthesizer that companies and inventors, much like Buchla, had started to look
at other ways of evolving electronics into music. The Minimoog was a monophonic instrument, and
instruments like the APR odyssey were soon after introduced that allowed duophony possible on
synthesizers. The APR odyssey mk I was released in 1972, and was an aesthetically pleasing
duophonic synthesizer, making it easy for a performer to tweak the parameters of the synthesized
sound with sliders. By the mid 1970 s, well known companies like Sequential Circuits and Yamaha
had developed more advanced keyboard matrices, allowing polyphony to be introduced to the
electronic music scene. One

The Use Of Automatic Real Time Tracking And Augmented 3d...
The interest to detect and track the endovascular devices during X ray guided interventional
procedures spans over a decade. The recent developments in real time detection, tracking,
visualization over an augmented reality with multi modality fusion has transformed the surgical
environment. However, it s quite challenging to combine robustness of automatic real time tracking
and augmented 3D visualization. In addition, various endovascular procedures use different devices
and tracking requirements (tip or whole catheter).
The important parameters that affect the detection and tracking can be classified in to 3 broad
categories; endovascular devices, projection geometry and motion. At first, the detection of various
shapes and radio opaque devices is a challenge. Secondly, the detection is challenged by image
magnification and image geometry by various projections (Cranio caudal tilt). Thirdly, and
importantly real time tracking challenged by the patient motion and the deformation of the vessel.
Over the years, many of these challenges were addressed with success limited to devices. However,
the potential clinical benefits; to deploy the fenestrated stent grafts accurately without blocking
branches of abdominal Aorta (renal), to reduce contrast medium injected that might reduce the risk of
renal pathologies, to reduce the radiation exposure to the patient, personal and the environmental,
sustains the research interest. In addition, a successfully registered 3D

Several states have added right to carry laws, while others have made it illegal to possess a concealed
weapon (Smith 22). Most of the additional laws deal with the ownership and use of handguns and
assault type weapons. There has been much debate and government lobbying dealing with the passing
of gun laws. Many people think the government is focusing too much on the laws about guns, because
90 percent of all violent crime in the United States does not involve any type of firearm (Smith 17).
Other countries around the world have also set examples by having gun laws. Guns are banned in the
United Kingdom, and the crime rate has risen since that time (Smith 24). Also, within the United
States, the crime rate in the states is lower if the states have right to carry laws (Smith 22). The other
major problem with gun laws in the United States is that they are simply not being enforced (Smith
15). These facts and others involving the positive uses of guns are argued in court rooms and
government offices around the country every day. As government officials study the facts and make
laws, they continue to maintain the people s right to bear arms.
When thinking about the people s right to bear arms, it is appropriate to know that not all stories about
guns are bad. Guns are not always used for violence, and the government seems to be keeping this fact
in mind. Positive stories about people having their lives saved by guns seem to

and they were loved and idolized by many. They are still considered to be one of the greatest, if not

  • 2. Selma Persuasive Speech The strength of a speech does not come from the strength of a person s voice, but the strength comes from the passion of the speaker towards the subject. The film Selma directed by Ana DuVernay, portrays the story of Martin Luther King Jr. s struggle to achieve voting rights in the south for African Americans. In the film, two speeches that King spoke caught my attention, they are Give Us the Vote and Who Murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson? . After analyzing both speeches, I have found that both are very similar as they both are relatable by directing his speeches towards his audience emotions, how he persuades his audience to fight for their rights through protest, and how he is able to express his own beliefs in his speeches to further support his argument favoring voting rights. One of the first speeches that King does in the beginning of the film is Give Us the Vote which focuses on him telling his audience that they need to fight for their rights. In his speech, King evokes the audience s emotions by describing how children are also being targeted for hate crimes and he introduces this by saying, We see children become victims of one of the most vicious crimes...within the halls of their own church! . This is important because he uses children to connect to the audience s emotions, allowing them to understand that if they do not fight for their rights their children will also become victims. Similarly, in his other speech, Who Murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson? , King talks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Impact Of Russia s Arms Trade In Russia European market. With these two large investments and the opportunity for Russia to expand its oil power. That is why Russia has invested it s self economically in the current civil war that is ripping Syria apart. Weapons of War The top Russian exported item is oil, but in the realm of diversity the next major export is Arms or war. According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute in appendix A figure 3 shows how big of a market the arms trade is for Russia. And according to President Putin in 2015 Russia s arms exports surged to around 56 billion dollars in revenue. Russia s arms trade is so enormous, because it is in competition with the United States, which is the world leader in the arms trade. If a country is banned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though Russia is gaining revenue by a constant war, it will prosper more in the reconstruction phase. Once the civil war ends Russia will have the sole rights for future arms to fill the void caused by the war. Russia will have the opportunity to send military advisors and trainers. Also, Russia will be locked in with maintenance contract and parts to fix the military equipment that Syria has bought. The Russians have taken the chance to grow its arms trade in the Syrian conflict by selling to both sides increasing its income. Even though the market in Syria is boosting Russian arms exports, the conflict in Syria is greatly advancing the arms trade in another way. Since the cold war Russia and the United States haven t clashed in any major conflict. When Syria s civil war erupted Assad forces bought Russian made arms and the opposition forces acquired U.S. made arms. The whole episode was a chance to see what happens when state of the art hardware from two major world powers violently collide in the Middle East (Mirovalev 2016). An example that Mirovalev uses is a T 90, which is one of Russia s most advanced tanks, it was hit by a US made BGM 71 TOW missile. The after effect was the tank withstood the explosion without igniting allowing the crew to exit without any injuries. This example is important because it shows the effectiveness of both ... • 4. Fruit Mold Lab Report Fruit Molds Brenna Rivera November 29, 2016 Anaruth Alfaro Abstract In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different environments to asses which fruit would have the most mold and in which environment the mold would be present the most. For the experiment we used fruits that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non organic fruit. Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot the most in our warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed over a period of weeks. At the end of this period of time the peaches had rotted the most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were the first to go. Introduction After learning about different types of mold in lab as well as in lecture, my group and I were interested in studying mold more. We wanted to know which fruits from our selected few would rot the most and in which environment would they be most likely to rot or mold in. We learned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We will also see if there is any big difference between organic and inorganic fruit. According to our lab on fungus we already knew what the mold would look like so we were pretty confident that we would be able to identify it without a problem (lab 17 The Kingdom Fungi). With our own knowledge we hypothesized that that out of the tomatoes, peaches, and apples that the peaches would rot the most and that they would rot the most while in the incubator (an environment which is approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit). About a month later and having observed our fruits in various increments we found that the peaches and the tomatoes were pretty close together but they peaches ultimately molded the most and molded the most within the ... • 5. Research Paper On Mobility Scooter INTRODUCTION: A mobility scooter is a mobility aid similar to a wheelchair but configured like a motor scooter. It is often referred to a power operated vehicle or electric scooter. A mobility scooter has a seat over two rear wheels, a flat area for the feet and handlebars in front to turn one or two steerable wheels. The seat may swivel to allow access when the front is blocked by the handlebars. Mobility scooters are usually battery powered. A battery or two is stored on board the scooter and is charged via an onboard or separate battery charger unit from standard electric power. Gasoline powered scooters are also available; through they are rapidly being replaced by electric models. Assistive and small sit down motor scooters provide important advantages to people with mobility problems throughout the world. A scooter is useful for persons without the stamina or arm/shoulder flexibility necessary to use a manual wheelchair. Also, swiveling the seat of an electric scooter is generally easier than moving conventional wheelchairs. A mobility scooter is very helpful for persons with systemic or whole body disabling conditions who are still able to stand and walk a few steps, sit upright without torso support and control the steering tiller. ... • 6. The Causes Of Haiti s Underdevelopment It is an established understanding that the progression of society in terms of growth and development have been shaped vastly in both physical and social aspects. Although the flow of progression is continuous in developed societies, it is evident that certain countries are not progressing as they are affected by the outcomes of poverty. These countries are more greatly impacted when natural disasters occur as they lack in infrastructure, have weak buildings, crowded population densities and have poor support from the government (Cite 1). In 2010, Haiti experienced an earthquake, leaving the capital, Port au Prince and the surrounding cities devastated. This took the lives of many individuals and shook the country physically and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amartya Sen, an economist and international development theorist, found that the development of any nation is based the ideological principles of education, health and income. Modernization theory emphasizes that the underdevelopment of a nation is due to the solidification of tradition values, and the concurrent disregard for the need for modern education practices. The impact of this is seen through the thoughts by Isbister who states while the third world is out of commitment towards areas of science and technology, countries on the northern hemisphere are showing prosperity both economically and in quality of life (Isbister). Education is a vital catalyst to initiate growth in a country s level of infrastructure. Educated individuals become aware of scientific and technical knowledge that leads to a more skilled population/workforce, which developed nations relay on in our current industrialized economy. According to David Brooks, Haiti s deprived level of development is due to its lacking primitive infrastructure. Brooks argues that . It s a story about poorly constructed buildings..[and] bad infrastructure (Brooks). It can be said the poor infrastructure in Haiti is due to the inability to create quality buildings and other stable components with the level of qualified personal. This could be due to the lack of education practices, emphasized by Brooks. Brooks mentioned that child rearing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Need for Policy Makers to Regulate Human Genetic... Human genetic engineering (HGE), a prevalent topic for scientists in research, is the process of manipulating genes in the human genome. Potentially, scientists can use the process of HGE to alter many biological and psychological human traits by gene modification. Currently, however, there is a large deficiency in information regarding HGE and its effects to the human body; creating a need for scientists to conduct more research and tests. Because of the many unknowns involving HGE it is necessary for policy makers to regulate HGE for the use by scientists. The first part of this paper will provide an overview of what HGE is and the processes involved with the technology of HGE. This paper will then analyze the potential risks associated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gyngell s article analyzes the potential for HGE to increase the human life span, while providing a description of the process of HGE and predicting that HGE may eliminate disease via gene selection. Both of these articles provide credible and informative arguments that illustrate many different aspects of the potential impacts of HGE. HGE modifies the genomes of humans to produce a specific phenotype (a set of observable characteristics of an organism) or genotype (genetic constitution of an organism) that embodies desirable characteristics [1]. Therefore, HGE differs from archaic processes of selective breeding and artificial selection because it directly alters genes. The main focuses of HGE research are genes that code for immunity, cognitive abilities, and psychological mentality. The use of HGE in gametes and early development embryos is of particular interest to scientists because of its potential to grant them control over heritable traits. This ability can have great impact on the future of evolution because it provides humans with the control of the production of combinations of genes that would otherwise be unachievable. The potential for this level of control creates a need for regulation by policy makers, who have an obligation to consider the risks, and the benefits that coincide with the future of HGE. The development of more information and technology continues to increase the potential for scientists to manipulate complex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Urban Runoff Is The Primary Source Of Ocean Pollution The oceans need to be protected because it is where life began and if not taken care of, life as we know it will end. The well being of the ocean is constantly being threatened and needs to stop. When dangerous substances go into the ocean, ecosystems suffer and become endangered along with the lives of people and marine life. The importance of protecting and preserving the quality and biodiversity of the world s coasts must be recognized because they are truly irreplaceable. If humans are not educated , and become careless about what is thrown on the ground or sprayed on lawns, disastrous effects follow when it comes to the condition of the ocean s ecosystems, which can endanger life itself, leading to a problem only we can correct. There is historical evidence of ocean pollution, although the problem still shadows us today. One of the most poorly understood causes ocean pollution is urban runoff. Urban runoff is also one of the leading causes of ocean pollution, Surfrider agrees, Urban runoff is often the primary source of ocean pollution. The Ocean Friendly Gardens (OFG) Program educates and assists people in creating landscapes that utilize native plants, permeable ground covers and water retention features to prevent urban runoff, create wildlife habitats and design beautiful spaces (Surfrider). Surfrider has a program called The Ocean Friendly Gardens where Surfrider goes to different areas that are more prone to urban runoff and creates a garden using native ... • 9. William Shakespeare s Hamlet Clarice Paul Mr. Lopes ENG3U1 06 1/14/15 Human beings strive to have better knowledge and intellect in their daily lives. However, can the power of intelligence be considered a negative aspect? In the play, Hamlet written by William Shakespeare, the topic of intelligence is a predominant theme that is woven through two of the main characters: Hamlet and Claudius. Although Hamlet and Claudius are sworn enemies, they are much more similar in character than meets the eye. Even though Hamlet appears to be insane, he actually deceives the other characters to retaliate his father s wicked murder. Hamlet s strong use of words and his significant soliloquies shows that he is well aware of what is happening around him. Similarly, Claudius is truly the king of deception and trickery. Although, he seems to have the whole kingdom fooled about his identity, Hamlet is the only one who is able to use his intelligence to see through the King s façade. Similarly, Hamlet s insanity appears to deceive everyone, except Claudius, who believes there is something more to it. Both Claudius and Hamlet use intelligence to gain power, to discover the concealed truth, and ultimately to get revenge. Firstly, Hamlet and Claudius use intelligence to gain power. Claudius murders his own brother to accumulate power and seize the throne of Denmark. He pretends to mourn the loss of his brother when he says, though the passing of our dear brother s death, the memory be green, and that it us befitted, to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research stated that exposure to violence in adolescence at a young age may lead to aggression in school age youths. Aggression and violence may not be as serious for some individuals and it s often considered a part of growing up as a child. Aggression can be understood in a range of ways. It can be conceptualized as ones personality trait or having origins within a difficult temperament. In other words, aggression and violence within an adolescent can be inherent to the individual. Aggression may also reflect a behavioral pattern that can be attributed to a syndrome, such as Lesch Nyhan syndrome, which occurs in males. A wide spectrum of aggressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Preschoolers have to learn positive behavioral roles in the classroom to decease violence and aggression toward one another and toward the teacher. Parents and teachers must place children in environments that offer a setting and support for learning positive social behavior rather than aggressive, unfriendly, unsociable acts. Preschoolers are self centered and have not developed all the brain connections needed to see another s point of view. Preschoolers have that mindset of mine which makes it compatible that everything belongs to themselves. Preschoolers or other young children in general see all or nothing. Children do not understand that an individual is not all good or not all bad. Young children also cannot sort out fantasy from reality and get diverse up about what is real on television. The temperament of a terrible two is commonly a completely accepted manner. The aggression behavior linked with these tantrums dealing with throwing objects and kicking is therefore better tolerated. The notion of these specific progressive stages when a child may escalate or decline their aggressions that may cause violence can be supported. These symptoms could change with developmental capability in motor and cognitive domains. A motor skilled toddler can throw objects at siblings with intention to hurt, and a bothered preschooler can effortlessly jab his classmate with a crayon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Print Journalism As previously mentioned, graphic journalism is not the only medium which uses both text and image in order to communicate and convey information print journalism also incorporates visual language into the work, because according to the research people are more likely to read a story accompanied by a photograph (Wolf Grotta 1985, in Nyberg 2006: 100), but actually does it in a completely different way. While the news photograph is ancillary to the text (Nyberg 2006: 100) and plays a supportive accompanying role, in comics journalism illustrations and text are integrated and equivalent, working together to compose a narrative and create a coherent whole, but remaining distinct from each other. Moreover, a photograph usually stands alone seeming to capture the whole story in a single moment (Williams 2005: 55), and though has the capacity to draw attention and cause a viewer s reaction, it cannot by itself provide an interpretation or create a narrative coherence, requiring captions and descriptions to be ... However, in many places in the world right now and in Shakespeare s time, not everyone had this right and were restricted to speak their mind. Except Feste the clown. In Twelfth Night, we can see that the only position that isn t high ranking and were allowed to say what they wanted was a jester (fool). For example, while talking to Olivia, he says The more fool, madonna, to mourn for your brother s soul being in heaven. Take the fool away, gentlemen, which means he is saying that Olivia is stupid for mourning for her brother, something a normal citizen at the time wouldn t have been able to say. From this, is it clear that he uses his profession as a figurative mask to excuse a lot of what he says. Although Feste is a clown, he is one of Shakespeare s ironies meaning that he is very intelligent on the inside, thus a lot of what he says is true. This decision to invoke the War Measures Act during the October Crisis has led to a great deal of controversy on whether the act was justified. The October Crisis was a series of events in October 1970, these events began with the kidnappings of James Cross and later Pierre Laporte by the group known as the FLQ (Front de libération du Québec) the group s main goals were to create an independent Quebec.2 The group resorted to terrorist acts in order to achieve those goals, this later led to Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau invoking the War Measures Act. The War Measures Act was a federal statute adopted by parliament during WWI and has been used 3 times; during WWI, WWII and during the October Crisis. The act gives major power to the Canadian government to uphold security during times of great distress.3 Pierre Trudeau was justified in enacting the War Measures Act during the October Crisis. Because data corruption is a common occurrence on the internet, UDP has a primitive form of error detection but it is not that reliable because it doesn t recover the error it just will be discarded. Even if the network is busy, UDP will try to cram packets in the network and this is a bad strategy because it will cause more collisions. Here where TCP comes, for having certain features that make the connection more reliable. However, it also has a bigger communication over than UDP. TCP s connection is based on negotiating first before doing anything, this known as the three way handshake. If any error is detected, TCP offers retransmission when a receiver doesn t get a delivery a package. That was until Leigh stepped in. When Leigh observed how Michael was doing, she saw the flaw of how Michael was being coached. She took action and considered Michael s personality in account to how he performs. As mentioned above, in the beginning the school board had taken his personality test and scored 98% in protective instinct. Leigh used this opportunity to connect both Michael s personality and sports to teach him how to block. She related the football players to the family that he cares for. When Leigh and Michael first interacted, he brought her to the area he was born in. That area is known for violence and surrounded by those who live in poverty. While walking with Leigh around that neighbourhood, Michael promised to protect her if anything were to happen. Additionally, while S.J and Michael were in a car accident, Michael protected S.J by stopping the airbag from making contact with him. Leigh used these situations to exemplify that the team is Michael s family and it is his job to protect them from their opponents. She then illustrated that the quarterback is who he needed to protect as if the quarterback was Leigh herself. She continued by displaying that when Michael sees his ... • 32. Safety Procedures On And Off The Water Safety We continue our educational and training sessions for our staff on all safety procedures on and off the water. Over the past two months we have hosted regular first aid and CPR training. As the venue grows the need for in house security has became a priority. Over the past two years we have outsourced security. Beginning this month we will have one full time and one part time officer on staff. We are estimating to have a budget saving with in house security. Operations Flood Recovery During the recent flooding, we sustained damage to equipment, racecourse and docks. While majority of the damage is covered under the Foundations insurance we do have several items that were not. One of our large gangways south of the Chesapeake Boathouse washed off of its foundations. Both Universities docks were washed out for the inlets and are considered a total lose. The foundation has been working closely with both Universities and the dock manufacture to replace the dock system. Both Universities have filed claims with FEMA for disaster relieve and are currently working through the process. We too, filed a claim with FEMA but under the Non Profit guidelines we only qualify for debris removal and emergency preventive maintenance funding. We will be submitting our staffing cost for debris removal under the FEMA guidelines. The racecourse was not a total lose and we are currently working with our insurance company to recover those loses. Lake Overhoulser ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Origins and Development of Electronic Dance Music and... The Origins and Developments of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Contemporary Nightlife Musical Culture The origins and developments of Electronic Dance Music initially started with the development of the synthesizer. It was with these first uses of synthesized sounds that prompted the development of sequencers, sampling, effects processing, musical instrument digital interface (MIDI), use of computer technology, hard disk recording systems and modern day virtual studio technology (VST s). These all fundamentally build the genre of electronic music, as we know it today. The development of this new technology brought many new genres to music, mostly popular, Electronic Dance Music being one of these. The Moog Synthesizer was the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the time, British inventor, Peter Zinovieff and American Composer, Raymond Scott were both looking into basic electronic sequencing, however it was Buchla that had the initial breakthrough. Before then, artists were manually cutting up and splicing tape together to achieve sequences and Buchla found an electronic alternative and soon developed his electronic sequencer. This meant that artists would no longer need to go through the time consuming process of cutting up tape for sequencing. Buchla said, you could simply take my sequencer and set the time and the pitch for each interval. So that required, of course, a voltage controlled oscillator, and from then it led to a bunch of other ideas (Pinch, 2004, p.40). It was after the moog synthesizer that companies and inventors, much like Buchla, had started to look at other ways of evolving electronics into music. The Minimoog was a monophonic instrument, and instruments like the APR odyssey were soon after introduced that allowed duophony possible on synthesizers. The APR odyssey mk I was released in 1972, and was an aesthetically pleasing duophonic synthesizer, making it easy for a performer to tweak the parameters of the synthesized sound with sliders. By the mid 1970 s, well known companies like Sequential Circuits and Yamaha had developed more advanced keyboard matrices, allowing polyphony to be introduced to the electronic music scene. One ... • 34. The Use Of Automatic Real Time Tracking And Augmented 3d... The interest to detect and track the endovascular devices during X ray guided interventional procedures spans over a decade. The recent developments in real time detection, tracking, visualization over an augmented reality with multi modality fusion has transformed the surgical environment. However, it s quite challenging to combine robustness of automatic real time tracking and augmented 3D visualization. In addition, various endovascular procedures use different devices and tracking requirements (tip or whole catheter). The important parameters that affect the detection and tracking can be classified in to 3 broad categories; endovascular devices, projection geometry and motion. At first, the detection of various shapes and radio opaque devices is a challenge. Secondly, the detection is challenged by image magnification and image geometry by various projections (Cranio caudal tilt). Thirdly, and importantly real time tracking challenged by the patient motion and the deformation of the vessel. Over the years, many of these challenges were addressed with success limited to devices. However, the potential clinical benefits; to deploy the fenestrated stent grafts accurately without blocking branches of abdominal Aorta (renal), to reduce contrast medium injected that might reduce the risk of renal pathologies, to reduce the radiation exposure to the patient, personal and the environmental, sustains the research interest. In addition, a successfully registered 3D ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay about Americans Have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Americans Have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Our rights as Americans started to take shape when the Constitution of the United States was drawn up by the delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Three years later, a very important part of American history called the Bill of Rights was added. The Bill of Rights is looked upon and interpreted every day. It gives the citizens of the United States many of the rights and freedoms that we value today, and some of those are in jeopardy. One right that is at stake is our right to bear arms, which is addressed in the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is a highly debatable topic, and many legal scholars and the Supreme Court have yet to resolve the issues and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several states have added right to carry laws, while others have made it illegal to possess a concealed weapon (Smith 22). Most of the additional laws deal with the ownership and use of handguns and assault type weapons. There has been much debate and government lobbying dealing with the passing of gun laws. Many people think the government is focusing too much on the laws about guns, because 90 percent of all violent crime in the United States does not involve any type of firearm (Smith 17). Other countries around the world have also set examples by having gun laws. Guns are banned in the United Kingdom, and the crime rate has risen since that time (Smith 24). Also, within the United States, the crime rate in the states is lower if the states have right to carry laws (Smith 22). The other major problem with gun laws in the United States is that they are simply not being enforced (Smith 15). These facts and others involving the positive uses of guns are argued in court rooms and government offices around the country every day. As government officials study the facts and make laws, they continue to maintain the people s right to bear arms. When thinking about the people s right to bear arms, it is appropriate to know that not all stories about guns are bad. Guns are not always used for violence, and the government seems to be keeping this fact in mind. Positive stories about people having their lives saved by guns seem to ... • 37. Counterculture Movement Essay John Lennon of the famous rock band, The Beatles, once said, If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there d be peace . This quote essentially defines the 1960s and the counterculture movement in America. After WWII people had much more free time than they did during the war, and many people decided that they wanted to settle down and start a family. This caused a large boom in child birth. The children born during this boom are known as baby boomers . Due to the baby boom between 1945 and 1955, over half the population was under 30 years old (The American Experience 1). During this time in American history, the children of the baby boomer generation started rebelling against the war in Vietnam and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let It Be, Strawberry Fields Forever, Revolution, and many other songs by the British rock band, The Beatles, helped shape the counterculture movement. Many songs by The Beatles supported the ideas of rebellion, freedom and drug use. The Beatles were the most popular musical group in the 1960s, and they were loved and idolized by many. They are still considered to be one of the greatest, if not the, greatest musical group ever. Although the Beatles were the most popular and influential rock group of the time, eclectic groups and singers of all different genres helped shape the music scene in the 1960s, such as: Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and the Who. Music by all of these artists reflected the new sexual permissiveness and drug trends (The American Experience 2). In 1969, a music festival called Woodstock was put together. It lasted for over three days and around 500,000 people came to listen to the music. Artists like the Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. The majority of the people that attended the festival were hippies. Hippies wore loose clothing, for the most part advocated drug use, and promoted peace and love. Woodstock showcased a moment in time where an entire generation became empowered and realized that they needed to break away from the status quo. Music had a huge influence on the baby boomer generation and the counterculture of the 1960s as a whole. A large part of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I went through the cemetery because it is said the demons who burned the church down found home in the dead bodies that are six feet under. I went with my 16 year old sister which was a mistake.
