concentration camps and gulags. After the war, the Polish are abandoned by the west and allowed to

20th Century American Imperialism
In the mid 1900s the world experienced a major change, no more was there a war between two major
nations, rather the threat of war between the Soviet Union and the United States, a conflict that always
threatened to boil over. Within this tug of war of power, nations broke free from their imperialistic
ties, and became individual entities. Southeastern Asia was very much influenced by imperialism, with
the Dutch controlling Indonesia, the French controlling Cambodia, and the British presence in
Thailand. The cold war was a dissolving factor of imperialism and once these countries gained
freedom, without the support of the countries controlling them, they inevitably fell into poverty. The

Claude Manet – Impressionism – 19Th . Oscar-Claude Monet
Claude Manet Impressionism 19th
Oscar Claude Monet was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and
productive expert of the movement s philosophy of communicating one s observations before nature
particularly applied to plein air landscape painting. The expression Impressionism is from the title of
his piece Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was shown in 1874 in the first of the
independent presentations mounted by Monet and his partners as an alternate choice to the Salon de
Paris.
Monet s aspiration of painting the French countryside drove him to embrace a technique for painting
the same scene repeatedly, trying to catch the changing of light and the death of the seasons. From ...

35. Monet painted the subject twice, and it is unknown which of the two pictures was the artwork that
showed up in the pivotal 1874 presentation, however more as of late, the Moscow picture has been
favoured.
Monet has been portrayed as the main thrust behind Impressionism . Essential to the art of the
Impressionist painters was the comprehension of the effects of light on the local colour of objects, and
the impacts of the contrast of hues with each other. Monet s long profession as a painter was spent in
the quest for this aim.
In 1856, his shot meeting with Eugene Boudin, a painter of little beaches, opened his eyes to the idea
of plein air painting. From that time, with a short intrusion for military administration, he committed
himself to hunting down better than ever strategies for painterly expression.
In 1877 a progression of works of art at St Lazare Station had Monet taking a gander at smoke and
steam and the way that they influenced shading and perceivability, being here and there misty and
some of the time translucent. He was to further utilize this in study in the painting of the effects of
mist and rain on the landscape. The investigation of the impacts of climate was to develop into various
arrangements of works of art in which Monet often painted a similar subject in various lights, at
various hours of the day, and through the

Taking a Look at 3D Printing
Introduction
This essay will convey in depth the definition of 3D printing and how it operates. It will also show
some examples of different types of 3D printing as well as show us how it can be useful in the
industry of business, professional, education and home time. 3D printing can bring some advantages
as well as disadvantages not only to business but also to its employees. Printing this way will become
more common as time goes by and can help the industry limit on human error.
3D movies, holograms and much more have been created so why not have 3D printing. Three
dimensional printing has been extensively used in engineering contexts for more than twenty years.
However, it is only now that 3 D printing has taken the public s interest. With better alterations and
reduced costs over the years, technology has been mainly responsible for this amazing creation of top,
front and side view objects printed.
A recent report done by industry consultancy and analysis firm McKinsey Company said that 3D
printing could cause some major advantages in the global economy after some few years. One being
that with consumers expecting more personalized features in the products they want to buy this would
mean that more time has to be spent making the products to the customers desires, it also means more
value can be built into a product which, in return could be used to generate customer loyalty and more
income to the business (Maxey, 2014).
While 3D printing is a worthwhile technology

How Did The Industrial Revolution Cause Revolutionary Change
The Industrial Revolution began around 1750 and ended in around 1900. The revolution started in
Britain and then continued to spread to the rest of the world. The revolution brought new
revolutionary ideas that challenged earlier ones. It brought the answer to major emerging issues that
affected a vast majority of people across the world. The Industrial Revolution was a revolution of
celebration, for it created revolutionary inventions, new agricultural techniques, and social ideas that
caused revolutionary change, especially in women s status.
The Industrial Revolution brought inventions like the steam engine, cotton gin, power loom, and
spinning jenny, mentioned in the Ways of the World textbook. These inventions contributed to a
culture of innovation and also industrialized societies that had these inventions. In the second
Industrial Revolution, it focused on chemicals, electricity, telegraph, and the telephone, mentioned in
the Ways of the World textbook. The steam engine, invented in 1712, caused a massive change in
transportation worldwide. One of the major products of the steam engine was the advancement of the
railroad. It spread across the world transforming transportation and the global economy. The railroad
also amazed vast amounts of people who saw the marvels of these new form of transportations.

Enabling Others To Act Research Paper
Enabling others to act is not about delegating tasks to them. Instead, it is about making them believe in
themselves, their capability and the goal is to inspire them to overcome their limits and find success.
Enabling others to act is not about people completing given tasks, it is more about making people feel
like they are a valuable component of the team and to engage them in discussions while helping them
develop their self confidence. When I think of enabling others to act, I think of the way my coaches
work with me. They trust me, and they let me figure out a task on my own so that I can discover
myself. My coaches encourage me, and through enabling me to act, they help me become a leader.

My struggle with suggesting ideas happens because I hesitate and worry about how the other person or
the group will feel about the notion. Many times, while working on a group project I come up with
ideas on how to improve my partner s part of the project but initially I struggle to suggest ideas as I
feel like my partner may thing that I don t trust them or am being dominating. Hence, it takes me time
to suggest ideas. Even when it comes to my dance teams and my workplace despite holding a

like my mentorship experience has helped me overcome my hesitation as I learned that I have to
suggest ideas to my mentees as it is for their benefit and the benefit of the group. To improve my
ability to challenge the process, I believe that I have work on my self confidence and think about how

Comparing The Struggles Of Nora In A Doll s House
Enough is Enough: The Struggles of Nora in A Doll s House In the Victorian age men were the head
decisions makers for their wives and children s lives. In A Doll s House it shows a bundle of
disagreements with Nora and her husband Torvald. Their relationship has pushed Nora to her breaking
point. I argue that in A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen and I m Moving On by Rascal Flatts, Nora
realizes that Torvald has been dismissing her and treating her badly because Torvald has been calling
her very degrading names, Torvald has been very self centered, and Torvald forbids her to even leave
him, when that is what was best for her.
Nora and Torvald have been married for eight years. He has never excelled at being an exceptional
husband to her, and talks extremely negative to her. Torvald also screeched at his wife, Nora, for
making inadequate decisions that have destroyed his reputation. Torvald says, You talk like a child,

Comparing Descartes And John Locke On How Is God Related...
One of the main questions philosophers strive to fulfill happens to be How is God related to the world,
especially in causality. An increasingly popular idea was that the world and nature were like a machine
and everything worked together like a montage of parts. Disturbance again reigned from Christians
and thus came primary and secondary causality. Such as the primary cause is too wet the grass and the
secondary is the rain which in turn will make the grass wet. God is the primary cause for everything
while he works in secondary causes. Spinoza, however, sees God as a substance and He is everything.
Such as Descartes, Locke wished to determine how the human mind acquires knowledge. He believed
a newborn child was a blank slate and knowledge

Theme Of Displacement In Paris
The idea of traveling to a new country to explore different types of cultures has the ability to be a very
exciting experience. From the abundance of new sights to see and food to taste, one can become
caught up in all the hustle and bustle of locals. While exposure to an unfamiliar place is thrilling, one s
abrupt immersion into a completely foreign country tends to prove rather exhausting when it comes to
beginning a completely new life. This quick change of pace from a familiar environment to, what feels
like, another planet can be quite overwhelming. The theme of displacement while abroad, specifically
in Paris, is evident in Jean Rhys novel Good Morning, Midnight and Joanna Walsh s novel Vertigo.
Rhys and Walsh both illustrate novels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Longing for a place to fit in is very evident through Sasha in Good Morning, Midnight. Throughout
the novel, Sasha continuously returns to the desire to buy a new dress and style her hair. I must go and
buy a hat this afternoon, I think, and tomorrow a dress. I must get on with the transformation act
(Rhys 63). Her wish to alter her appearance reinforces the goal to leave the identity of her past self
behind. By doing so, she will be able to dissolve her paranoia of being an outsider. Much to Sasha s
dismay, this plan fails and only escalates her social anxiety. For example, she discusses her outright
fear of the human race, proclaiming, Of course I m afraid of them. Who wouldn t be afraid of a pack
of damned hyenas (Rhys 173). This continual dread of interaction and attention from others leads to
the progression of her drinking addiction and suicidal thoughts. While she never attempts to commit
suicide, on a number of occasions, Sasha mentions whether she should or not. In the midst of poverty,
losing her child, and a failed marriage, Sasha cannot help but contemplate the end of her life. The ups
and downs of navigating an unfamiliar territory while battling alcohol addiction and severe loss,
would cause a person to doubt their purpose of existence, such as Sasha. While Vertigo does not
illustrate a sense of paranoia and suicide to the degrees of Good Morning, Midnight, the novel still
exhibits a longing for acceptance. Walsh eerily exemplifies the narrator s feelings of uncertainty,
writing, You could employ someone to be me and get just the same thing, maybe even better, if you
had the money (Walsh 66). This short sentence really encapsulates the inner workings of the narrator s
mind. Not only is she paranoid about outside perceptions of her, but she has reached the conclusion
that others have the ability to impersonate

Shenkman would have to show specifically how the city s current electoral system discriminates
against the Latino population of the city. According to the United States Census data, Latinos
represent about 17% of Glendale s 196,000 residents.
Despite publicly opposing the initiative of a new, district based system, the members of the City
Council created Measure D, which would abandon the current at large electoral system and split the
community into districts. Several of the members also stated that the decision on this important issue
should be up to voters.
Glendale voters, however, soundly defeated two measures which would create a district based system
for the City of Glendale and the Glendale Unified Board of Education. This outcome means that the
current at large voting system will remain in place, thus creating a possibility for potential litigation.
According to LA Times, no California city has won a lawsuit challenging its at large voting system.

Leon Trotsky is well recognised as one of the greatest Marxists that ever lived. After being arrested,
sentenced to exile twice and supporting the Mensheviks, Trotsky was deported to New York
Citywhere he was to be a peaceful, productive member of society. Following the removal of the Tsar
during the Russian Revolution, Trotsky returned to Russia in May 1917.
In August 1917, Trotsky joined the Central Committee of the Bolshevik party whose leader was none

Trotsky marched out of negotiations, however the immediate threat posed by German forces led the
Bolsheviks to sign the treaty of Brest Litovsk and agree to even harsher terms than what was first
proposed. Trotsky was the main negotiator at the peace talks, supporting a strategy of no war, no peace
. Despite Trotsky s actions at negotiations, forcing the Bolshevik government to agree to even harsher
terms, Lenin understood Trotsky s motivations as a show of loyalty to the Bolshevik Government and
allowed him to stay Minister of Foreign Affairs.
As the Civil War started, the Bolsheviks passed a declaration announcing the creation of the Red
Army, which was Trotsky s idea. On the 8th of April, Lenin appointed Trotsky as Minister for War.
Shortly after Trotsky introduced conscription and obtained the numbers to overcome the Whites, the
Red Army had a total of 3 million men by 1920. Trotsky s disciplinary actions paid off with the Red
Army being able to launch a counter attack, driving the enemy back. Thus, with Trotsky s other
military success of the Bolshevik Revolution and the support from within the Army, Trotsky took on
another major feature of his life, the Civil War and successfully created Red Army into victory, as well
as consolidating his power by being made Commissar for War.

John Doe Arraignment
To begin with, since John has no legal status in America, could they just have sent him back to his
home country right? Nonetheless, the police officer should have stopped him when he realized that
John was incriminating himself and read him the Miranda Rights (Fifth Amendment). For this reason,
I believe that the Miranda Rights should be read when the arrest happens. That was the officer s first
mistake. Not reading him his rights could get the whole case thrown out or anything said before his
rights was read to him will be inadmissible in court. After taking John to the station and begin
questioning him, this is when he has the right to counsel (Sixth Amendment). The Miranda Rights
states that if you can t afford counsel then one would be appointed to you. John Doe indeed had the

Superstitions in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by...
Superstition
In Huckleberry Finn multiple instances of superstitions arise and seem to be engraved in the culture,
even the most utmost examples being rarely questioned and continually passed on from generation to
generation like a hand me down. In modern society, superstition is one big mind game. Eventually,
enough people are affected by these notions that they become evidence for others. In both modern day
and in the late 1800s when the story of Huck Finn took place, superstition has been used as a cloak to
explain events or occurrences that humans cannot or simply choose not to explain in a logical manner,
oftentimes showing the illogical thinking and gullibility of a certain society.
In the story, Jim is a runaway slave. Because many unfair things happen to slaves, superstition plays a
more prevalent role in Jim s life. Jim uses superstitions to justify unfortunate events that happen to
him, just accepting what had happened rather than investigating. In Chapter 10, Huck handles a
snakeskin and Jim warns Huck that it would cause them bad luck. Later on, Huck finds another
rattlesnake. Once Huck had killed the snake, he put it in the bottom of Jim s blanket, searching for a
good laugh when Jim found it. It eventually attracted another snake that bit Jim when he crawled in.
Huck never told Jim that he put the dead snake in his blanket. Jim then scolded Huck about handling

Computer Programming And Software Design Essay
INTRODUCTION
An important, underrated and often overlooked tool for Computer Supported Collaborative Work,
henceforth abbreviated CSCW, is the revision control system or version control system, henceforth
abbreviated as RCS, or VCS, respectively. There are a plethora of RCS and VCS available from which
to choose. Within the field of computer programming and software design, the use of RCS or VCS is a
vital best practice, especially in development environments with many programmers, developers,
engineers, administrators, and managers. However, RCS or VCS can and should be used wherever
there are larger groups of CSCW regardless of the domain. Henceforth, RCS and VCS shall be
referred to as any generic revision or version control system, abbreviated as RVCS. The significance
of evaluating various RVCS becomes apparent by demonstrating and illustrating their importance.
Such evaluation is then used to produce or derive guidelines that streamline the selection of the RVCS
for a particular CSCW group.
WHAT EXACTLY IS RVCS?
One way to begin operationally defining RVCS is with the simple concept of artifacts and deliverables
produced, created, developed or engineered by the CSCW group. The sharing of such artifacts is
essential in the operations of the CSCW group (Schmidt, et. al., 2015). Typically, such modern day
artifacts or deliverables consist of documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, reports,
presentations, and other multimedia. In the domain of computer

Supernatural in American Fiction Essay
Supernatural in American Fiction
The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of
the unknown. Therefore, it makes sense that if mortals cannot bear the darkness, they [should not] not
go there. If man dislikes black night and yawning chasms, then should he not even consider them?
Shouldn t man seek out the sunshine, instead? The remedy is very simple: Avoid the darkness and seek
the light. But, no. Mankind would never submit to this. He will immediately turn to the darkness.
Drawn by his own cords of fear and longing, man will imagine that he is tired of the light and his
small, familiar world.3 No amount of rationalization... or Freudian analysis can overcome ... Show

the organizations that supposedly embrace the unknown, even claiming to have documentation of
floating orbs [and] ethereal specters. 10 Armed with video cameras, sophisticated recording
equipment, and an undying belief in the inexplicable, 11 the ranks of the ghost hunters are growing.
This is most likely due to the fact that American society is [inching] ever closer to embracing
phenomena that science [cannot] answer. 12 Even highly esteemed academic publications such as the

Diagnosis And Treatment Of Prostate Cancer
When we have diseases or don t feel well, we tend to seek treatments and try to cure it as soon as
possible. However, what if there is no reliable treatment or nearly no treatment available? Then, the
only option is to do research. Life can be really difficult and no one wants any sickness or diagnosed
with such a hard to cure disease like cancer. Prostate Cancer is a known cancer that happens to men
only and a lot of men in the U.S are diagnosed with it, and happens to male s reproductive system.
Specifically speaking, it is a gland found in the most private area of a man. In the following
paragraphs, I will be explaining why we need to find a way to combat prostate cancer, how to detect
this cancer at early stages, and the risks associated with prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer for men in the U.S. It mostly affects
African American men than men of other races. In addition, those men who suffer from prostate
cancer would not know that they are affected until they participate in a health checkup or conduct self
diagnoses. A healthy prostate gland should be about the size of a walnut or smaller depend on
individuals. According, to a cancer research center stated about why men are more likely to get cancer
... men were more likely to die from any of the cancers investigated in the report, and ... were also
more likely to develop the disease in the first place (Arney, 2009). Also, men are more likely to die

5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce
5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce
Improving conversion rate optimization, or CRO, ranks as one of the best strategies for generating
eCommerce revenue. The basics of eCommerce CRO in B2B markets rely on treating the process as a
journey instead of as a destination it s an ongoing process that requires gathering data, testing platform
features and analyzing the results. Each visitor to a B2B platform generates valuable data, and it s
critical not to waste this resource because it costs far less to increase CRO rates than it does to target
and land new clients. Following B2B best practices for conversions involves setting up automatic
intelligence gathering, testing the results to maximize conversion rates and feeding the improvement
process so that it evolves continuously as trends and customer habits change.
About 73 percent of online stores don t understand why customers abandon their websites and
shopping carts.[1] Businesses only spend an average of about $1 out of each $92 converting customers
while using the rest to acquire new business.[2] However, the top performing companies spend more
than 5 percent of their budgets on improving conversion rate optimization. In business to business
sales, inbound marketing conversions are even more critical due to the longer sales and approval
process. Best practices for B2B organizations include integrating intelligence gathering from multiple
data sources, testing

Research Paper On London Tower
The London Tower is a magnificent work of architecture that has lasted hundreds of years. From
somewhat humble beginnings as a mere base of operations to keep the locals in check, it expanded to
the most secure place in London, housing the Crown Jewels and important documents of state. The
Tower of London has a dark history, though. Countless tales of prisoners being captured and
interrogated through less than civil means call the Tower home. There are also accounts of murders, or
speculated ones, as well, taking place within its walls. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is the
Tale of the Two Princes. It recounts two young boys in line for the throne being under their uncle s
care at the Tower, before that uncle is made the new heir

INTRODUCTION
When we walk through the halls of a modern office building, unless there are underlying
psychological issues, few wonder if today will be the day the building collapses. Few people question
if the floor is strong enough for their weight, if the wind will blow over the structure, or if there are
enough exits to safely get out of the structure in an emergency. Why is it that all over the world, for
the most part, buildings are relatively similar? Why is it that people don t question the structural
intergrity of a facility every time they enter? The answer is standardized construction through the
incorporation of Building Codes. Over thousands of years the process of regulating construction has
become so engrained into society that few today question the integrity of their office building,
highways, or homes.

Why Did The Confederate Lose The Civil War Analysis
1. Why did the Confederacy lose the Civil War? What changes in military strategy, commanders, and
prosecution of the war finally secured Union victory in the end?
Multiple factors contributed to the Confederacy losing the Civil War; a lack of resources for the South,
a change in military strategy from the Southern leadership, the failures of the Confederate leadership
to combat evolving Union aggressive military strategy, and prosecution of Union prisoners of war.
First, the South had a myriad of disadvantages when compared to the North is terms of a lack of
resources i.e. people a five to two advantage favoring the North, military industrial complex also

The Union s resolve to finish re unification was strengthened by contempt for the Confederacy s
treatment of Union soldiers during the war, specifically black soldiers, which became relevant after
the1863 Emancipation Proclamation became official and black soldiers joined the army. The event
that sparked anger in the North took place on July 1863 when several prisoners from the 54th
Massachusetts were not exchanged with the rest of the white soldiers who participated is the assault
on Fort Wagner. This led Lincoln to issue General Order 252, which effectively suspended the Dix
Hill Cartel until Confederate forces agreed to treat black prisoners the same as white prisoners. This
led to a large scale effort to house captured soldiers on both sides. This however led to South erecting
one of the most notorious prisoner of war camps Andersonville Prison. The first inmates began
arriving at Andersonville prison on February 1864, while it was still being constructed. Andersonville
became necessary after the prisoner exchange system between the North and South collapsed in 1863
over disagreements about the handling of black soldiers. The Union soldiers imprisoned at
Andersonville suffered horrible conditions under the camp warden

We are presented with choices every day. Many are easy to make and cause very little stress, but some
choices can be extremely difficult and have significant consequences. The difference between making
the right choice or the wrong one is often determined be a persons character, which is based upon the
qualities of integrity, responsibility, and honesty. Gaining an understanding of these three character
traits and how to build them is critical to creating a lifetime of positive outcomes.

The Nazis saw Hitler as a man with integrity. We saw Hitler as a cruel unfair man without integrity.
Good character and integrity are easiest to demonstrate when facing public disapproval, but the true
test comes when you can potentially get away with anything because then nothing is at stake but your
own conscience. Trustworthy is very similar to truthfulness, uprightness, and honor. Truthfulness is
when a person consistently tells the truth, and is honest. Honor is the equality of being honorable, and
to show respect for others. These simple but powerful words are components of integrity. A person of
integrity does exactly what he says and says exactly what he means. There is no conflict between his
thoughts and actions. His actions are consistent with the values he professes. According to Dr. William
Manninger, A building without integrity may receive structural damage, or even collapse, in a storm.
Similarly, people without integrity are blown about by the winds of misfortune and destroyed by
catastrophes, for they lack the firmness, solidity, and strength of character to weather any storm. This
means that integrity is one of the six essential qualities that are the key to success. The other five are
sincerity, humility, courtesy, wisdom, and charity. Integrity is about doing what is right rather than
what is appropriate. Not everyone has integrity; the family life

A mural is more than just a painting on the wall. Murals bring together a sense of community and
make the city a more welcoming place. According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the word mural
means a painting or other work of art that is directly executed on to a wall. In many aspects, murals
originated from graffiti, which comes from the Latin word graffio, meaning scratching or scribbling.
Mural Arts programs are popping up in cities across the nation. However, I decided to focus on two
cities that were closer to home for me. I focused my research on Newark and Asbury Park, New

help of murals are becoming more welcoming places.
Newark, New Jersey, is the home to 100 s of murals lining the streets. Travelling up route 21 along the

B) In For Whom the Bell Tolls chapters 1 10 I noticed that Hemingway utilized a literary device of

A) In the second section of For Whom the Bell Tolls I can connect Pablo s nervousness to Henry

Critical Analysis of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks...
The book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, was a nonfiction story about the
life of Henrietta Lacks, who died of cervical cancer in 1951. Henrietta did not know that her doctor
took a sample of her cancer cells a few months before she died. Henrietta cells that called HeLa were
the first immortal human cells ever grown in a laboratory (Skloot 22). In fact, the cells from her cervix
are the most important advances in medical research. Rebecca was interested to write this story

they had food and warmth (Skloot 65). This was the first immortal human cells that they called HeLa.
This name came from the first two letters of the name Henrietta Lacks.
After Gey succeeded to find the immortal human cells, he started to sell HeLa cells without Henrietta

Engl. 102

The Tiger, originally called The Tyger, is a lyric poem focusing on the nature of God and his creations.
It was published in 1794 in a collection entitled Songs of Experience (1). Poetry Essay Outline Thesis:
The Tiger is a poem by William Blake that routines a lot of underlying themes, throughout the writing.
He asks a series of serious queries concerning the nature of God, and why he created the tiger. The
theme of the poem is about God as the creator of good and evil that leads the reader to think.
The strongest literary element in William Blake s poem The Tyger, which is figurative language.
Figurative language can be defined as anything said or written that means something beyond the literal
meaning of the words that are used (2). The initial lines of Blake s poem are chock full of intense
figurative language: Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, the tiger is not literally
burning, of course, and this metaphor of fire and burning is carried out through the poem and takes on
all sorts of associations, including an association with the infernal. Allusion also plays an important
role in the poem. Stanza two includes an allusion to Icarus, who in classic myth attempts to fly to the
sun ( ...what wings... ). The allusion mixes with the fire imagery, and the idea that the creator forges
the tiger in fire, like a blacksmith. Stanza five contains an allusion to the fall of Satan from heaven

lived in a British monarchy. They lived their lives having other people (Kings, Queens, and royal
advisors) control their government actions. Some democratic feature they contained was a democratic
government and human rights. One democratic feature is system of government. In Virginia they had
the House Of Burgesses. Individual were chosen by the colonists to make laws. Eventually each
colony will have a legislator. (Document 3) This shows a democratic government by coming together
to make laws. This is different because they are from a monarchy. Associating with the House Of
Burgesses the colonist could also make Colonial

The Lottery, By Shirley Jackson
Conformity is not based mainly on containing and supporting a society, but also to dominate and
control what is within. The control of repressed individuality benefits those at the top of a power
structure. From early on, men were considered the breadwinners and women were to maintain
households; whether due to a difference in physical, emotional, or mental state; this was an
unquestioned hierarchy. Therefore, any women who pushed back were ultimately punished for
threatening the system. In The Lottery , Shirley Jackson uses literary devices of symbolism, irony, and
characterization to reveal the danger of blind obedience, and implanting the thought of resistance for
women. To an extent, conformity is necessary in reality; time has shown that laws, rules, and
regulations that are innately bad can serve as the catalyst for rebellion, as recorded for the French
Revolution, Vietnam War, and Czarist Russia. Conformity lays the groundwork for good laws to be
constructed, and until that time, men are able to abuse and utilized the current laws for their own
superior gain. One of the biggest rebellions is backed purely by feminism, where women are repressed
by men. Unfortunately, in the past not many women knew their true value, and were prematurely
silenced; however, Jackson is revealing the reality of the restraints.
The author utilizes symbolism throughout her storyline to great effect. The physical properties, the
black box, the slips of paper, the placing of the box on the

Why Women Still Can t Have It All
Anyone Can Have It All Sooner or later in life, we will inevitably face the question that asks if we
have it all. One may respond with a question: What does it all mean? According to the article Why
Women Still Can t Have It All, author Anne Marie Slaughter defines it all as work family balance
(678). It means to have both career and family at the same time. And the consensus of our society has
agreed with her definition of it all. We live in a society where we are raised to grow up to have a
career and a family. Correspondingly, we will likely raise our children with the same tenet, and the
cycle repeats. Our society dictates that work family balance is what defining it all. However, not
everyone agrees with the society s or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is pleased because she has the power to achieve her it all by using her position to balance her
career and family. Likewise, in his article Why Men Still Can t Have It All, Richard Dorment feels
glad to be back in his office working rather than taking full advantage of his paternity leave. At work,
I had a purpose things needed to be done, people needed me to do them (Dorment 711). Dorment is an
editor at Esquire magazine. At work, he has purposes and is needed, whereas he feels his presence is
not necessarily needed and finds it to be boring at home (Dorment 711). Being needed and having able
to work for his purposes, he can have personal fulfillment. On the other hand, people who are not
contented are the ones that do not have personal satisfaction for their actions. For example, Slaughter
demonstrates this when she says, The flip side is the harder truth: having it all was not possible in
many types of jobs , including high government office at least not for very long (681). Her high
government position is very demanding of her time, therefore she has little time for her children.
Additionally, Dorment has his unpleasant experience as well. This used to annoy me why do I even
bother? (Dorment 706). It is a comment Dorment has regarding his wife refolding the clothes after he
has folded them. I would sympathize with him. A woman I knew asked me to go with her to her

Summer In Chicago Essay
My Summer in Chicago
I couldn t help but to feel anxious and excited. It was my first time being in such a vast city and I
couldn t wait to explore it. The time was near the end of July, this is when my dad usually enjoys
taking our summer vacations, primarily outside of our state to somewhere else new and exciting. That
summer my dad decided to take a week long road trip and visit, Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, St. Louis,
and Madison. When I had heard him say Chicago I had already imagined the tall buildings
surrounding me, and taking a walk near Lake Michigan on the Navy Pier. Overall, I had felt joyful
about the trip. He wanted to show my sisters and I all the adventures he did in Chicago when he was
my age. To tell the truth, I was more excited to visit Chicago a little more since it was such an
extensive city and I had wanted to visit there ever since I was younger.
A few days before the trip, my dad, my sister Nina, and I, had done some research and added up the
cost of the trip and looked for hotels and restaurants to visit during the time we were there and on our
road trip. After about an hour of research on Chicago, we had our plan of what to do for our time in
Chicago. That night, It was difficult to fall asleep, although I wasn t surprised I usually didn t fall
asleep right away before a vacation, I m usually too excited.
Morning soon came and my dad, my younger sister Niomi, my sister Nina, and I were all ready to
leave and finally begin the drive to

The expression Impressionism is from the title of his piece Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was shown in 1874 in the first of the independent presentations mounted by Monet and his partners as an alternate choice to the Salon de Paris. Monet painted the subject twice, and it is unknown which of the two pictures was the artwork that showed up in the pivotal 1874 presentation, however more as of late, the Moscow picture has been favoured. Monet has been portrayed as the main thrust behind Impressionism . Essential to the art of the Impressionist painters was the comprehension of the effects of light on the local colour of objects, and the impacts of the contrast of hues with each other. Monet s long profession as a painter was spent in the quest for this aim. In 1856, his shot meeting with Eugene Boudin, a painter of little beaches, opened his eyes to the idea of plein air painting. From that time, with a short intrusion for military administration, he committed himself to hunting down better than ever strategies for painterly expression. In 1877 a progression of works of art at St Lazare Station had Monet taking a gander at smoke and steam and the way that they influenced shading and perceivability, being here and there misty and some of the time translucent. He was to further utilize this in study in the painting of the effects of mist and rain on the landscape. I must get on with the transformation act (Rhys 63). Her wish to alter her appearance reinforces the goal to leave the identity of her past self behind. By doing so, she will be able to dissolve her paranoia of being an outsider. Much to Sasha s dismay, this plan fails and only escalates her social anxiety. For example, she discusses her outright fear of the human race, proclaiming, Of course I m afraid of them. Who wouldn t be afraid of a pack of damned hyenas (Rhys 173). This continual dread of interaction and attention from others leads to the progression of her drinking addiction and suicidal thoughts. Questions On A Business Ecommerce 5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce 5 Steps to Increase CRO in Enterprise eCommerce Improving conversion rate optimization, or CRO, ranks as one of the best strategies for generating eCommerce revenue. The basics of eCommerce CRO in B2B markets rely on treating the process as a journey instead of as a destination it s an ongoing process that requires gathering data, testing platform features and analyzing the results. Each visitor to a B2B platform generates valuable data, and it s critical not to waste this resource because it costs far less to increase CRO rates than it does to target and land new clients. Following B2B best practices for conversions involves setting up automatic intelligence gathering, testing the results to maximize conversion rates and feeding the improvement process so that it evolves continuously as trends and customer habits change. About 73 percent of online stores don t understand why customers abandon their websites and shopping carts.[1] Businesses only spend an average of about $1 out of each $92 converting customers while using the rest to acquire new business.[2] However, the top performing companies spend more than 5 percent of their budgets on improving conversion rate optimization. From somewhat humble beginnings as a mere base of operations to keep the locals in check, it expanded to the most secure place in London, housing the Crown Jewels and important documents of state. The Tower of London has a dark history, though. Countless tales of prisoners being captured and interrogated through less than civil means call the Tower home. There are also accounts of murders, or speculated ones, as well, taking place within its walls. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is the Tale of the Two Princes. • 43. The Lottery, By Shirley Jackson Conformity is not based mainly on containing and supporting a society, but also to dominate and control what is within. The control of repressed individuality benefits those at the top of a power structure. From early on, men were considered the breadwinners and women were to maintain households; whether due to a difference in physical, emotional, or mental state; this was an unquestioned hierarchy. Therefore, any women who pushed back were ultimately punished for threatening the system. In The Lottery , Shirley Jackson uses literary devices of symbolism, irony, and characterization to reveal the danger of blind obedience, and implanting the thought of resistance for women. To an extent, conformity is necessary in reality; time has shown that laws, rules, and regulations that are innately bad can serve as the catalyst for rebellion, as recorded for the French Revolution, Vietnam War, and Czarist Russia. Conformity lays the groundwork for good laws to be constructed, and until that time, men are able to abuse and utilized the current laws for their own superior gain. One of the biggest rebellions is backed purely by feminism, where women are repressed by men. Unfortunately, in the past not many women knew their true value, and were prematurely silenced; however, Jackson is revealing the reality of the restraints.
