2. Thermal Energy And Thermal Energy
In thermodynamics, thermal energy refers to the internal energy present in a system due to its
temperature. The concept is not well defined or broadly accepted in physics or thermodynamics,
because the internal energy can be changed without changing the temperature, and there is no way to
distinguish which part of a system s internal energy is thermal . Thermal energy is sometimes used
loosely as a synonym for more rigorous thermodynamic quantities such as the (entire) internal energy
of a system; or for heat or sensible heat which are defined as types of transfer of energy (just as work
is another type of transfer of energy). Heat and work depend on the way in which an energy transfer
occurred, whereas internal energy is a property of the state of a system and can thus be understood
even without knowing how the energy got there.
In an 1847 lecture entitled On Matter, Living Force, and Heat, James Prescott Joule characterised
various terms that are closely related to thermal energy and heat. He identified the terms latent heat
and sensible heat as forms of heat each affecting distinct physical phenomena, namely the potential
and kinetic energy of particles, respectively. He described latent energy as the energy of interaction in
a given configuration of particles, i.e. a form of potential energy, and the sensible heat as an energy
affecting temperature measured by the thermometer due to the thermal energy, which he called the
living force.

3. Benefits Of The American Dream
The American dream is something people, mainly immigrants, strive to reach. People all over see the
Americas as a magical place, or a place of unlimited opportunities that everyone wants to have. The
American dream is a dream of getting ahead... (the right to fail, William Zinsser). What provides for
the American dream in modern day society is the rights given to you when you become an American,
and the rights to get a job and earn money. The American Dream is accessible because those who can
achieve it, and those who try to, can reach it. but because the focus has shifted to realistic terms, it
may or may not be accessible to all. It is still accessible because if you try hard enough, you will be
able to achieve the American dream of freedom, a home, a job for money, and anything else you wish
to be able to do when being an American. Anything can be achieved if you try hard enough and you
want it bad enough to work for it. If you don t try to work, or try to succeed, then you don t want to
achieve the American dream.
The American Dream is accessible to all because if you try hard enough, you will be able to achieve
the American dream of freedom, a home, a job, or money. Barack Obama, our former President of
America, once said I believe we can give our middle class relief and provide working families with a
road to opportunities (Barack Obama, Keynote address 2004).This illustrates the concept that all
Americans can be given the chance to succeed and have opportunities that they deserve as an
American. success and failure are again becoming individual visions, as they were when the country
was younger, not rigid categories. Maybe we are learning again to cherish the right of every person to
succeed on his own terms and to fail as often as necessary on the way. (The right to fail, William
Zinsser). This quote means that people are beginning to understand that it is okay to fail as long as you
try to succeed. there are many different interpretations of the American dream, like the one that Anzia
Yezierska believes in America and I. The American Dream is accessible to all because Anything can
be achieved if you try hard enough and you want it bad enough to work for it, but some people don t
know that.

4. How Communication Changes Each On A Child s Age
1. Discuss how communication changes depending on a child s age.
According to Communication Skills (Skills You Need, 2015) Communication is simply the act of
transferring information from one place to another, whether this be vocally (using voice), written
(using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails), visually (using logos,
maps, charts or graphs) or non verbally (using body language, gestures and the tone and pitch of
voice). Communication depends greatly on a child s level of development and the type of
communication they are able to participate in and children s delivery of it. From making babbling
sound that eventually progress to single word, to two word and eventually to multi word stage, (About

Children age 3 to 6 years old begin to talk in full sentences and begin to learn and use proper grammar
and expression. At this age range, children are still learning to tell stories and recall information in
correct order. Meaning they can narrate events, by using past and present tense and plurals. They are
able to follow series of about 2 to 4 direction and can learn and sing songs and rhymes, enjoy listening
to stories and remember with some accuracy. Children would start asking questions about, how, when
and why things happen and even talk about imaginary and future things at this age range, (About
Education, 2015). When children reach the age of 6 to 12 years old, communication becomes more
efficient and some communicate like adult. They becomes very inquisitive and many ask questions,
remember and relate to experiences and stories. They can also express their preferences, concern and
needs to others. They start to be more independent, but struggle to make good choices and exercising
self discipline. At this age of 12 to 18 years old, children start to need more detailed and deeper

5. Litigation vs. ADR
Litigation v. ADR There are many legal systems and measures that are available to people when they
run into problems. These alternatives generally accelerate the resolution of disputes without the need
for initiating or continuing the formal and costly process of litigation. These alternatives are generally
referred to as that of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) (Sherman, 2012). Alternative Dispute
Resolution (ADR) comprises the resolution of a matter by a method other than traditional litigation.
There are three main kinds of ADR: negotiation, mediation and arbitration. ADR is often preferred
over traditional litigation because it involves a less formal atmosphere than the court room and is less
expensive and time consuming than litigation. Furthermore, matters can be resolved in private and
kept confidential, and the parties can frequently select the decision maker, who will often have
commercial or industrial experience. ADR also helps to reduce the caseloads for courts that are way
overcrowded (Alternative Dispute Resolution, 2011). The popularity of ADR has grown steadily over
the years with almost 90% of all cases resolved through some form of ADR before trial. Typically,
advantages of ADR over trial include such things as: less formal and therefore less intimidating,
quicker resolution, less expensive, heard by an arbitrator or mediator, at the end, an opinion is
delivered and after binding ADR, the opinion can usually be filed with a court and turned into

Carbon Derivatives Market in India Executive Summary Energy security, resource conservation,
reduction of pollution and protection of natural habitats has got governments all around the world
interested in carbon trading. Investor interest in the emerging global carbon credit market has created
apt conditions for risk management products, ranging from insurance to derivatives. The carbon
trading market allows polluting companies to pay others to cut carbon emissions on their behalf so as
to meet the reduction targets set by Kyoto Protocol. A high volume of trading in the carbon derivatives
market helps price discovery and liquidity, and in this way helps to set a clear price signal which helps
businesses to plan investments. India has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

second largest supplier of CERs in the world after China. Together they control around 82% of the

7. What Is Tesla s Induction Coil
Tesla originally experimented with induction coils, similar to those found in ignition coils in internal
combustion engines. He decided to power this setup with a high speed alternator he was developing.
However, the high frequency melted the iron core and the insulation between the primary and
secondary windings of the coil. To solve the problem, Tesla removed the insulation and replaced it
with an air gap. He also designed the setup so that the iron core could be moved. Additionally, he
discovered that he needed to place the capacitor between the alternator and primary windings to avoid
burning out the coil. Adjusting the coil and capacitor allowed Tesla to use resonance to attain higher
frequencies. He later relocated to Colorado after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, his idea was to utilize a large central Tesla coil to send electricity across the globe. Anyone
who needed to use it would only need a receiving coil to convert it into a useful form. Tesla was aware
of the range limitations of the coils, and his idea of countering that was to simply make giant coils.
Tesla attempted construction of Wardenclyffe Tower, a coil standing 168 feet tall. The tower, if
completed, would have been the largest Tesla Coil in history to have been constructed. Little is known
of the project, as they kept the public and media away from it. However, Tesla was unable to complete
the tower, as his funding was cut off by his supporter, J.P. Morgan, who ultimately deemed the project
impractical. He scrapped the tower in an attempt to pay off his debts. Despite the failure of his great
dream, Tesla s work would live to be used in radio transmission. The exact circuit used in a Tesla coil
can be found in virtually every radio. His work resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court overturning
Guglielmo Marconi s patent on radio, as Telsa s work predated Marconi s. An example of a large coil
that survives today can be found at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California. It is capable of
amplifying its input current by over 2,000 times, turning 248 volts into around 500,000. While not

Families were worried that if their child was exposed to homosexuality, or were themselves gay, that
their morals would be tarnished and they would embark towards promiscuous behaviour. Books were
given to teens providing advice on how to reach normality . They were trying to scare kids into
believing that heterosexuality was the only option and anything otherwise was not normal. They also
wanted to guilt the children into believing that being gay would not only ostracize yourself, but would

Men, women and children had to fit inside this nuclear family ideology. Communism was a major
factor in this family structure because it influenced the civil defence movement that gave housewives
new roles in society, while allowing the men to go out and work to be the breadwinner. Children had
to be censored from the world of communism so not to risk their beliefs from being influenced. Then
there was the pressure from the government telling the families that it was being patriotic to follow the
new social structure and if people did otherwise they were seen as communist supporters. Lastly, there
was the pressure that society put on each other. The nuclear family was the accepted lifestyle and if
you did not follow it, most people would look down on you. Homosexuality is one of the best
examples of this ostracization within Canada during the Cold War. The roles were so clear cut and

9. Society In Dead Poets Society
Society is a group of individuals, characterized by a common interest whether it be religious,
scientific, or political interests. Individuals are the building blocks of society. Individuals as human
beings are social creatures who have a need to be in close quarters with other humans. Despite
individuals being part of a society due to a common interest, they may experience issues regarding
conflicting views that will affect their overall happiness thus affecting the efficiency at which society
is functioning. For that reason, it is the duty of society to teach the individuals that reside in it to live
their lives to the fullest, to think for themselves, as well as standing up for what they believe is right.
One of the duties of society owes to individuals is to teach them how to live their lives to the fullest.

10. Developing A Health Care System
Despite the nation s significant investment in health care, the US ranks last overall in health care to
other industrialized nations. To help better health in the US, the Triple Aim was launched in October
2007 and was designed to help health care organizations improve the health of populations and the
care they receive by focusing attention on three different aims that were developed to improve the
experience of care, health of populations, and to reduce per capita costs of healthcare (Berwick,
Nolan, Whittington, 2008). In order to have better health in the US, all three of these components must
be addressed and balanced in order to reach the goal of Triple Aim in optimizing our health care
system. The US has developed a health care system that is built around the concept of better care
focusing on events and illness that are already present or have happened, such as heart attacks or
diabetes. What the Triple Aim has brought to health care is the vision of better health that tries to
capture the social need of health care by focusing primarily on not only the idea of better care, but also
on better health, and lower costs (Oregon Primary Care Assc., 2012). Triple Aim has brought the
realization that better care is needed. If you get sick, it is important that all the dimensions to improve
care are brought as close to perfection as possible; therefore, addressing safety needs, effectiveness,

It was a cool fall day, the pleasant cool breeze against my face, as I make my way down the road to
the rendezvous point. I arrive at the high school, and realize I m slightly early. I put the skateboard on
the ground and proceed to attempt to ride it, thankful that no one was there to see. Though I enjoy
skating, the point of meeting at the high school was so that no one had to see our novice attempts at it.
After five minutes of failing to get the board to leave the ground with me remaining on it, Raith and
Mea cross the road just in time to witness my pitiful endeavor. We spent most of the morning cruising
on our boards and sitting, drinking various sodas we had brought, and chatting. It was a rather
enjoyable start to the day, but by the time noon rolled around, most of us had to use the bathroom. So
we collectively decided to head down to the skate park because it was close, had a bathroom, and
sounded like it could be fun. Little did we know how much trouble would come from this little trip.
We arrive at the skate park to find that, surprisingly, no one is there. I make my way to the bathroom,
as well does the rest of the group. Afterwards we can t see the point of heading back immediately. I
attempt a few ramps and fall on my butt a few times so, ultimately, we decide to sit at the bench and

In time, packaging weight has decreased as compared to the packed product. Nevertheless,
consumption patterns have generated a higher packaging volume because of the constant changes in
demography and life styles. It is the volume of packaging and not so much its weight that attracts
critical eyes (Calver, 2004). In addition, the predilection for pre packed food has increased the amount
of plastic waste within the general waste flow.
ConsumerPsychologist.com, part of the University of Southern California, define consumer behaviour
as the study of individuals, groups or organizations and the processes they use to select, secure, use
and dispose of products, services, experiences or ideas to satisfy needs. Essentially, consumer
behavior deals with how frequently a person or organization may purchase an item from a company. It
closely relates to elements of customer service such as problem resolution and overall satisfaction and
to marketing strategies such as pricing, promotion and product placement.
Why Study Consumer Behaviour?
Understanding consumer behaviour may lead to changes in the design of a pilot product, a product s
packaging or its position within the store. Understanding why customers buy what they do also helps a
company create campaigns to encourage repeat purchase and referrals.
Consumers make decisions for different

There will be different needs for every product, origin, destination, and organization. First on the list is
cost. Cost of transportation is one of the major considerations involved in a successful supply chain.

On the other hand, if the organization were able to ship their goods by truck, then they would have the
option of either operating an in house fleet or outsourcing their transportation needs. When comparing
rail to tucking it is important to keep some things in mind. In the early days, the choice of rail vs truck
was easy because by the time that transportation by tuck came about rail transportation had been
around for a long time. In addition, the adoption of motor cars also proved to be more gradual than
that of passenger trains, the result of primitive technologies, high costs, and poor roads (GRANT,
2012, p. 248). This further added to the dominance of rail. In defense of trucking it can hall large
amounts of cargo over long distances. In addition, it can do so with a reasonably high degree of
responsiveness. However, the amount of cargo that rail can hall is considerably larger than that of
trucking. The responsiveness of trucking also comes at a higher cost then rail. Trucking is more suited
to haling more expensive goods that require higher responsiveness. However, in other parts of the
world where the rail infrastructure is more developed or more suitable for transporting cargo this may
not be an option. Perhaps the best use of both rail and truck is in combination through intermodal
transportation. This method makes use of one or more transportation methods in order to achieve to

Lily s parents can argue that the public school should meet Lily s special needs, set up appropriate

to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special education and related services

independent living (The Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004, 2008). It
emphasizes that a free appropriate public education need to both meet children s unique needs and
enable children with disabilities to be prepared for further education. However, the public school does
not try to meet Lily s needs that she often needs instructions broken down into chunks and given
individually because she gets easily overwhelmed by sensory input, but has learned many coping
strategies for this with support, and her sensory challenges sometimes distract her from what is
happening in the class. Furthermore, in the grade three the majority of the goals already been mastered

21. The Problems Of Farmed Salmon
In recent years Pacific salmon have felt the true burdens of the aquaculture productions of farmed
salmon in the natural rivers that have hosted these salmon for centuries. Salmon farming has been on
the rise since the early 1990s and over these twenty five years, it has put an immense amount of
pressure on the wild salmon population and their ability to spawn. These negative impacts can be
directly link to numerous problems with farmed salmon, which includes the pollution and
contamination they produce to nearby water sources. Next, is the dilemma that farmed Salmon have is
the negative affect they have on migrating wild Salmon. Their interaction can causes diseases to
spread to wild pacific salmon while they swim close to the farms during their seasonal runs. Another
major concern with disturbance is the interbreeding between farmed salmon and wild salmon. The
final problem, is the health risks that are associated with consuming higher concentrations of possible
toxic and carcinogenic contaminant often found in farmed salmon meat. The act of raising salmon in a
aquaculture environment can be detrimental to the ecosystem and humans of BC, because of the
pollution, contamination, disturbance farmed salmon have on wild salmon and more importantly, the
health risks aquaculture has on humans. Pollution and contamination from farmed salmon imposed on
their wild salmon counterparts is the largest and most destructive aspect of their coexistence in British
Columbia Pacific Ocean.

Radio stations in the Dallas area were the first to answer that outcry. They teamed up with local law

23. Immigration Historiography
Immigration has been a central theme in the development of the United States. The influx of
foreigners into the country has been met with acceptance and restrictive policy since its formation.
The reaction to diverse immigration created exclusionary policies first introduced in the late
nineteenth century and held in place by national origins quotas until 1965. The purpose of this
historiography is to show how recent scholarship on immigration has developed and changed in the
last fifteen years. This historiography is divided into three types of studies. The first is focused on how
historians have extricated the individual from the broad historiography to give voice to specific ethnic
groups as they negotiated for a place in the country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first type of study regards specific groups targeted by restrictive immigration policy. Various
ethnic groups exhibited agency as they combated discrimination. The works of Mae M. Ngai, Estelle
T. Lau, and John S.W. Park are used to support this initial position. Although these works focus on
policy formation they also show immigrant responses to racially specific federal policy. Resistance
and adaptability are themes that connect these works as immigrants negotiated a place for themselves
in the United States. The second grouping of studies will develop imposition theory to interpret social
and political responses to immigration over time. Policy imposed upon a targeted group is at the core
of this theory as the state mandated stringent requirements for entrance into the country and placed
rigorous standards on resident aliens once here. John Higham, Desmond King, and Martha Gardner
assess this plight. These works elaborated on imposition theory, as immigrants became Americans and
struggled against acculturation and preservation of their culture. The last grouping of studies evaluates
the development of a broad immigration policy. Keith Fitzgerald, Cheryl Shanks, and Roger Daniels
studies span over a century of immigration policy. Evaluating these broad interpretations on

NNAT study is a nonverbal measure of general ability... intended to assess cognitive ability

test but, conversely, it measures the subjects reasoning abilities. These nonverbal studies were helpful
in presenting meaningful data for forecasting the academic performance of students with diverse

words that are new but don t fit with the topic, and present the words to Chloe in oral and written
form. Chloe will be encouraged to engage in exclusive brainstorming in which she discusses the
words and decides which words go with their topic for the day and which don t. A chart can be used

create a picture, pictograph, or symbolic representation of the term as well as, including the word,

The purpose of Goal setting is to operationally define the specific desired outcomes and describe the
factors involved in achieving the outcome (Julia Bowman and Lise. L. Mogensen, 2010, p.100). Goals
can be split up into two different types. A Short term goal is the pathway leading up to the long term
goal (Julia Bowman and Lise. L. Mogensen, 2010, p.100). Long term goals have been described as the
destination of therapy (Julia Bowman and Lise. L. Mogensen, 2010, p.100). For therapists the long
term goal is how far the client wants to improve; if it is being fully independent, being able to do the
cleaning, the long term goal would be set to get them to that place. However, if the client is not
reaching their goals, this is when grading comes to place. Grading is the modification of an activity to
support the client s performance (Bridgett,2011, OT A Z: G is for Grading). Grading is all about
adjusting the goal to make it easier or harder for the client. If the client was about to do their goal very
quickly you would change their goal to make it harder for them; thus they can work towards a new
goal. The occupation performance model looks at what makes the person be able to do or not do the
task. With this the therapist will write down what is preventing the client from reaching their

Cryptosporidium species are intestinal protozoan parasites with a worldwide distribution, responsible
for diarrheal disease in a large number of vertebrate hosts including humans, and zoonotic infection
has long been acknowledged, as it is life threatening in immunocompromised patients (Current et al.,
1983). The disease has a faecal oral cycle, occurring with the ingestion of infecting oocystes, which
have environmental resistance. Separate anthroponotic and zoonotic transmission cycles have been
identified (Casemore and Jackson, 1984) and infection is maintained by several routes: direct person
to person transmission, animal to person contact either directly or indirectly and by ingestion of
contaminated food, fomites and especially drinking and recreational water (Atherton et al., 1995;
Casemore, 1990; Gallaher et al., 1989; Joce et al., 1991; Meinhardt et al., 1996). To date it is
considered one of the most difficult to control waterborne microorganism and contaminated water
represents the major source of human infection (Fayer, 2004; Ramirez et al., 2004). Waterborne
outbreaks in human from agricultural sources have long been ascribed to cattle due the high
prevalence of C. parvum in calves, however it is still debated whether sheep might have an
epidemiological role for zoonotic transmission (Robertson, 2009). Species within the genus
Cryptosporidium have been traditionally classified upon host range, oocyst morphology and site of

Myths regarding Population Health Management.
Population Health Management involves compilation patient data across multiple health information
technology platforms. This compiled data is then analysed into a single patient specific record. These
individual patient specific records help healthcare providers provide a much more customized health
care service, which helps improve both clinical and financial outcomes.
PHM is very effective and resourceful for all healthcare service providers. In order to get the best out
of it, it is imperative that the concept should be well understood. However, there are some myths
associated with PHM that have many providers confused. We shall discuss these myths and clear them

The entire healthcare industry is affected by population health. The reimbursement models involved
reward better clinical outcomes at low costs. However, this depends on your readiness to thrive in the
new environment. Having a robust technological partner to help you succeed in a mix of various
reimbursement models will be of utmost importance.
4. Population Health can be addressed by buying a single on premises software solution that gives
access to a large amount of patient data.
This is the most disastrous assumption of all. Suppose you do purchase a single software solution that
is the answer to all your needs. Once you have the software installed, you will have to force doctors,
patients, and other caregivers to use the platform. This will come with another set of costs that involve
training them, and giving them time to adjust with the software. Moreover, there is a fair chance that
the software goes obsolete and then all the above steps have to be performed

During the 1920 s American culture was centered around status and wealth, especially in the east, in
hopes of living the true American dream . Although most people became shallow, empty, and careless

consequences of their immoral actions. But Jay Gatsby was unlike every other hollow person in the

love for Gatsby became more and more apparent throughout the novel. Gatsby was an: extraordinary

33. Movie Analysis Of The Movie Precious By Sapphire
The movie Precious, is based off of the novel Push by Sapphire. In this movie, there is a 16 year old
girl named Precious. She is pregnant with her second child from her father, still in junior high, and is
morbidly obese. Not only that, but is continuously abused by her mother and father; verbally,
mentally, and physically. Throughout the movie, you can see that she has a red scarf either around her
neck or around her arm. I believe this represents hope. The hope that Precious has for her own life.
Precious has hope about her education, and about her future. Precious, even though her mother says it
s dumb, still goes to the alternative school because she has a sense of hope that she can be rescued and
saved from her own world. Hope is evidently the only thing keeping Precious moving. Hope means to
love. What is there for Precious to have a love for? Its evident that she doesn t have love for her
family, but she seems to care about school. She also has love for her unborn child. Though she
probably doesn t love school, she is trying to do good not only for herself but for her child. She feels
this obligation for the kid to be in a slightly better environment than her first child. This is shown in
the scene when the social worker comes over for a home visit and it shows how the child is treated by
Precious mother before and after the visit. Precious obviously can t say anything about the situation
because she will get more than a rough talking. School gives Precious a sense of hope and purpose for
her future and for her baby. She talks about all the hopes and dreams she has for the baby; the colours
of the room and all the things the baby will do when he/she gets older.Throughout all the trials and
tribulations hope seems to reign above all else. In the roughest of times, Precious has hope. Its seen
after she left her mother s house and the fight happened. She stilled dreamt and hoped for a better life
ahead. Another scene of the red scarf flowing in the dim and dark, black and white background of
Harlem symbolized that the only thing worth meaning (or colour) was her hope (the red scarf).
Another scene, Precious finds out she is HIV positive. Everything for her seems to come into
realization.

These engines had better performance, reliability and greater fuel efficiency than any other at that time

be used in the on the iconic and still the best looking airplane in aviation history the Boeing 747 which

42. Comparing Checks And Balances Of The Executive And A Prime...
President is elected by the voters, while the head of state in a parliament generally Prime Minister is
elected by the legislature. The difference seems small, but it ends up making a world of difference.
The US prides itself on separation of powers the legislature makes the laws, and the executive
executes them. They provide checks and balances on each other, ensuring that neither one gets too
powerful. Either one can work, though. There are many countries with parliaments, and the executive
doesn t run away with power. The parliament itself is still subject to the checks of the voters: voters
unhappy with the performance of the executive will take it out on the executive s party. That even
gives an opportunity for a third party to arise, for voters who don t want to switch to the opposite
party. The next executive is chosen in the parliament based on negotiations between the third party
and the two major parties. That s happening in the UK right now, where the Liberal Democratic party
is in an unlikely coalition with the Conservative party, after voters abandoned an unpopular Labor
Party. The LibDems are still much smaller, but very potent as kingmakers. (And about to be
hammered themselves, next time it comes around.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

44. Nazi Germany And The Soviet Union Under The Rule Of Adolf...
Totalitarianism is a governmental system where the country acknowledges no boundaries to its power
and where the country dominates all social means in an attempt to invade and control all perspectives
of private and public life. This is achieved through the country s use of technology, propaganda, and
horror. A totalitarian government tries to not only control all political and economic factors, but also
the values, attitudes, and ideas of its overall population, eradicating the existing society with a utopian
one. Many totalitarian methods, however, have distinguished ideological intentions. For example, the
states most generally characterized as totalitarian are the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin and Nazi
Germany under the rule of Adolf Hitler. To control the population and to expand the message of the
country, propaganda was an excellent weapon. The media is governed by the state and the free press
does not exist. Both dictators also do not allow public consultation, public opinion and disagreement is
flattened through a that regularly kills dissidents. Both dictators exploit the usage of forced labor
camps where many died in either concentration camps in Germany and Gulag camps in the Soviet
Union. An unprecedented number of people in both countries were murdered if they were thought to
be enemies of the state. Thesis: Both Stalin and Hitler committed some of the worst violations in
history to achieve full authority. The most critical being the confinement and

46. The Sexual Orientation Of Parents Essay
Article 1: Stacey, J., Biblarz, T. J. (2001). (How) does the sexual orientation of parents matter?
American Sociological Review, 66(2), 159 183.
The goal of this study was to dispute the negative heterosexism perceptions attached to the
development of children with parents who identify as gay and lesbian. The authors focused on the
analysis of previous research findings, comparing the outcomes of the children from heterosexual
single mothers and homosexual parents, particularly lesbian mothers. These studies explored the
relationship between homophobia, the sexual orientation of the parents and the outcome of the child;
in addition to the influence on sexual preferences and well being of the children.
A critical finding from this study, was the belief that the discrimination surrounding homophobia is the
core reason as to why the concern behind sexual orientation of parents exists at all. This article found
a stronger correlation between the children, specifically daughters raised by lesbian mothers, and the
absence of typical gender identities associated with their behaviour, chosen activities and aspirations
for the future. These results suggest children of lesbian parenting are not forced to restrict themselves
to certain gender associated roles. When examining the sexual preferences and behaviour of the
children from both households, they found the children of lesbian mothers were more open to
considering a same sex relationship in their future. Although

Target market
During the launch of their new product, the brand had to communicate the right message to the target
markets. After qualitative analysis, the firms decided to focus on 3 main targets: * First time mother
with baby aged between 4 to 12 months:
Why? The first time mothers were sensitive and more protective and hence their focus will be on
making the right choice for their babies in the selection of products and also since they represent a
large market in Australia.
Objective: Create brand awareness and emotional attachment to the brand; build strong relationship
with the mum to enhance loyalty.
* Second time mother with at least one child under 12 month:
Why? They represent a large target market in Australia, since there is a lack of choice in the baby food
category there was an opportunity to offer the market a good reason to switch their brand
Objective: Make them switch brand and create loyalty to Golden Circle through creation of emotional
connection with mothers.
