Sociology Worldviews
A worldview is a philosophy and outlook of the world around us typically held by a group or members
of society (Funk, 2001). Worldviews and society around us significantly impact the way we view and
think about culture and education. The Milne (2013) quote discusses the idea that when children are
young they do not have these views on culture and other s beliefs. Children at a young age, have not
been exposed to views of others, and therefore are oblivious and innocent to the worldviews and race
issues. It does not matter to young children, as they don t care where they put the colours (Milne,
2013, p. 6). These children do not have the stereotypes that society has created to form an opinion
about other s ethnicities and backgrounds, therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normalisation is very prevalent within our society (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2003). This
normalisation is created by society through views of others and takes on a position of what is normal
and what is abnormal in society (Mika, 2017). The dominant group within society is typically
considered to be normal , while those outside of the dominant group classifications, are considered
different and abnormal. This causes people from outside of the dominant group to aspire to be part of
this normal group, as they consider this to be of more benefit than to be placed within the diverse
category. Therefore, aspiring to climb higher within the social ladder that has been created through
society expectations of normalisation (Theodorou, 2011). When discussing diversity, often it is in
relation to how different it is from the normal, typically white background (Milne, 2013). This means
that it is causing the other groups to be put in boxes according to how different their culture and
beliefs are from the normal, as opposed to recognising unique cultures as something to be valued. Due
to normalisation s pervasive nature it tends to have a significant influence in many domains of society,
such as education (Stanford

What Is The Positive Impact Of Broadcast Journalism
CNJ 319 Final Exam Leixi Wang 746 words
If there is one thing I believe in is that journalism, specifically broadcast journalism, helped greatly in
the advancement of communications technologies and vice versa. With the introduction of radio and
television, the hunger for more information and accessing the information quicker grew tremendously.
Maybe not the best time in terms of world peace, but with the drive to spread the information out as
fast and as widely as possible, it did help drive for a better further, a more peaceful future where
people received the information first hand and from many different angles. Even with these
technological advancements, it was not always a positive impact on the journalism front, and I will
analyze the pros and cons in this paper.
With the invention of the telegraph, proving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus the television was introduced to the general public at around WWII time, where it slowly took
over the radio as the preferred method broadcasting. With television the benefit of having the image
right in front of the viewer brings in more realism to the news, it gives the viewer a better feel of
actually being in the moment. This also changed the way journalism worked, as the journalists came
from the guys doing the background work and writing the scripts to actually being seen on television
or heard on radio.
Over ally technology has brought around more positives than negatives for the journalism industry,
growing the audience base to number that could not have been possible with just newspaper, it also
provided easier ways to engage the viewers and listeners as especially in the 19th and early 20th
century there were still many people that could not read. As technology is continuously impacting
journalism now and into the future, there s a chance to see more interesting gadgets that will gauge the
user s interest in

Recrystallization Lab Report
The solid organic compounds that we use in reactions or that come from natural sources tend to have
impurities. One way for us to remove these impurities and obtain our desired product is by using a
technique called recrystallization. Our goal in this experiment is to prove that recrystallization is a
method to purify a solid organic compound with contaminants. In Part A we will purify acetanilide by
recrystallization and in Part B we will distinguish the best way to select the solvent required to
recrystallize the solute. Removing the solid impurities of an organic compound involves a series of
steps. The first step is to dissolve the solid in the minimum amount of the appropriate hot solvent.
Crystallization takes advantage of the fact that most solids are more soluble in a hot than in a cold
solvent. We need a solute that is soluble in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, if a solid is first dissolved in an amount of hot solvent that does not dissolve it when cold,
crystals should form when the hot solution is allowed to cool. The second step is using hot vacuum
filtration, which removes the insoluble impurities from the hot mixture. The acetanilide given to us
had two impurities, one soluble and one insoluble in the hot water. The insoluble impurity can be
removed after the acetanilide is dissolved in the hot solvent and filtered. Most of the solvent may be
evaporated from the crystals as the vacuum pulls the air through the crystals on the funnel, but the
acetanilide will still contain the more soluble impurity. It is important to let the solution cool slowly in
order for the molecules to line up in an organized way and form the crystals. We also need to make
sure that the filter flask in clamped and that we use the appropriate tubes for the vacuum as well as the
appropriate sized filter paper. After letting the solution cool, we begin the process of recrystallization
in order to remove the soluble impurity.

Stereotypes In Lap Dance
In mainstream media and film, strippers are given a very narrow representation when they re even
included in a storyline at all: The women and men who make up the sex industry tend to be painted
with a broad brush, being portrayed as morally corrupt. It s implied that they either joined the industry
because of their negative traits, or that those traits were developed during their time working in it. This
harmful stereotype is pretty consistently perpetuated, and done so through both male and female
characters. The film being used here to provide a few examples of this stereotype is Lap Dance (Greg
Carter), a 2014 film about a woman who begins working as an exotic dancer to supplement her
income. When the main character Monica is first introduced in the film, she learns her father has
cancer. Soon after, the doctor informs Monica and her fiancé Kevin that insurance is no longer
covering his hospital stay. He them that the payment required for hospice care totals to fifteen
thousand dollars, which neither of them have. Monica is disheartened and takes up a job working at a
nail salon, where she runs into an old friend of hers who works as a dancer. The friend, whose name is
Tasha, tries to convince Monica to come dance with her at her club. At first, Monica insists she can t
do it. However, after the reality of the current money dilemma sets in, she decides she has nothing to
lose. When Monica begins dancing, she s still very innocent and naïve. Within the first few

Cultural Economies Of The World
When examining different cultural economies of the world, one would find that there are a multitude
of emerging economies in all areas of the world. One of these emerging markets can be found in the
Eurasian country of Turkey. Through an analysis of their government, current economic state, their
geographic location and other similar traits of Turkey s culture, we are better able to understand where
this growth in the economy has stemmed from and how it can continue to improve within time. In
looking at Turkey s government, it is made apparent the similarities that it shares with the United
States. As a democratic nation, Turkey hold both a constitution through which they abide by as well as
the same three branch of the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary. Within the Executive branch of
their government, houses the President who is elected by the Grand National Assembly members, of
the legislative branch, by popular vote. Turkey also has its own Prime Minister and Council of
Ministries. Known as a Republican Parliamentary Democracy, it is apparent the Turkish government
contains a mixture of many well developed countries governmental ideals like that of the United
Kingdom, United States, and France. Due to their location and labor force, Turkey has seen a steady
rise in their economy in the last 7 years, nearing around 2% per year, with an increase in labor and
employment soaring as well. For being seen as a developing economy, it seems that Turkey is on a lot

Pros And Cons Of The Electoral College
There are some that would argue that the Electoral College should not be abolished. Williams argued,
According to 2013 census data, nine states California, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois,
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, and Michigan have populations that total roughly 160 million, slightly
more than half the U.S. population. It is conceivable that just nine states could determine the
presidency in a popular vote (Williams). Consequently, without the Electoral College, nine states can
possibly determine the results of an election. Those that support the Electoral College think that
elections should be by state instead of a vote per person. The Electoral College can keep unqualified
candidates from winning an election and therefore, become president. Talents for low intrigue, and the
little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it
will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence
of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a
successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States. It will not be too
strong to say, that there will be a constant probability of seeing the station filled by characters pre
eminent for ability and virtue (Williams). He supports the idea that the Electoral College keeps
unqualified candidates from becoming the president. He also talks about how there is a

Dr Faustus as a Tragedy
Q.1. Discuss Dr Faustus as a tragedy.
Tragedy Definition
Aristotle defines a tragedy as a representation of an action which is important, complete and limited in
length. It is enacted not recited and by arousing pity and fear, it gives an outlet to emotions of this
type.
However, for the Elizabethans, more specifically for Marlowe and Shakespeare, tragedy is not a
restrictive view of human excellence or weakness as the Greeks are often inclined to present but an
affirmative view of human aspirations whose pursuit brings a glory to the definition of a man.
Struggle, conflict, suffering and failure may be the inescapable attendants but the human spirit is not
stifled in its pursuits by what attends to them. The ability to withstand ... Show more content on

Divinity adieu:
These metaphysics of magicians,
And necromantic books are heavenly:
The Strength of theTragedy
The play is a human tragedy for not only is Faustus tragically constituted in his boundless ambitions
but, at the same time, the play questions the effectiveness of the cultural aspirations that shape his
ambitions. Consequently, the play provides a complex interaction between the human dimensions of
the dramatic character and the ambiguities and ambivalences of the cultural situation the character is
placed in.
Yet while the play seems to offer a very basic Christian message that one should avoid temptation and
sin, and repent if one cannot avoid temptation and sin its conclusion can be interpreted as straying
from orthodox Christianity in order to conform to the structure of tragedy.
In a traditional tragic play, as pioneered by the Greeks and imitated by William Shakespeare, a hero is
brought low by an error or series of errors and realizes his or her mistake only when it is too late. In
Christianity, though, as long as a person is alive, there is always the possibility of repentance so if a
tragic hero realizes his or her mistake, he or she may still be saved even at the last moment. But
though Faustus, in the final, wrenching scene, comes to his senses and begs for a chance to repent, it is

Comparing Two Different Types Of English Riding
In the competitive world of horseback riding, there are two distinct styles: english and western. Even
though both sports require a horse, there are differences in the equipment you ride in, the type of
horse, and the basics of the sport.
The first difference is the type of equipment used in the sport. When riding, you use a saddle of
course, but saddles are made a hundred different ways for certain types of activity. For example, the
saddle you use. For a barrel racer, which is western, the saddle you use has a longer horn for the
ability to grab it when turning the barrels. The saddle is also heavier and thicker so it allows the barrel
racer to sit deep in the seat when going fast. For a jumper, which is english riding, the saddle has no
horn and is extremely light. The saddle is so light because the horse can jump higher and the only
weight that needs to be on the horse is the rider itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different breeds of horses have different body structures, different speeds, and different temperaments
that fit with the sport they are used in. In all western sports quarter horses are mainly used even
though other types are used. Quarter horses are usually short and have very muscular hindquarters and
they also have the ability to reach top speed at a quarter of a mile, hence the name quarter horse .
Western sports are timed events but the fastest time wins, which is why this short and fast little horse
is used primarily in the western world of horseback riding. If you attend any english riding sport, the
horses you see are usually tall. For example you wouldn t see a short quarter horse in the jumping
arena trying to jump the high jumps. Thoroughbreds are a common breed spotted in the english arena
because of their build. They are quite tall and that also allows them to be used in racing because of
their high

Essay about Porter s 5 in Mining Industry
1. Porters 5 forces Analysis:
1.1 Buyer power:
The buyers for mining industry usually have medium to high power. There are two elements that could
affect the buyer s power. One is buyer s level of negotiation; the other is buyer s price sensitivity. In
our case, the two companies are producing coal and uranium. These two products are mainly used for
producing electricity. Buyers for these natural resources must have large quantity of demand, and also
they usually have government behind them for negotiation. Even through these natural resources are
unrenewable and limited, there are other mining companies producing them and these resources are
undifferentiated from other companies products. This makes the buyers have high ... Show more

1.3 Rivalry among existing firms:
The competition of mining industry is medium to high. One major competition for mining industry is
the competition for resources and mines, which is different from other industries. Since the resources
are limited and unrenewable, together with the continues increasing demand for energy, such as coal
demand of China and India, the battle of exploiting and developing new mines are intensive. Also,
there are many competitors in the industry. However, since the exit barriers are high, the competition
is limited within the existing companies. Companies in the industry might battle for larger market
share but facing little threat of new entries. Thus, the competition in the industry is concluded as
medium to high.
1.4 Threat of new entrants:
New entrants may pose a threat to the company by introducing new innovative products at a
competitive prices and eating into their market share and customer loyalty. The threat of entry for the
coal and uranium industry tends to be low due to high entry barriers. The reason for this is the
government regulations and restriction on coal and uranium mining companies. Resources of coal and
uranium are laminated. The capital expenditure or set up of mining company is very high. Moreover,
mining companies has a high exit cost and that because the use of specialized asset. Also,

Vladimir Lenin And The Bolshevik Revolution
According to the History.com Staff, The October Revolution began on November 6 and 7, 1917 (or
October 24 and 25 on the Julian calendar). (Russian Revolution ). The October Revolution has also
been called the Bolshevik Revolution since the Bolshevik Party played a crucial role in the revolution.
The leader of the Bolshevik Party, Vladimir Lenin was a big supporter of Karl Marx. Another Marxist
who leads this revolution was Leon Trotsky. In an article by the History.com Staff, Lenin had created
an, almost, bloodless coup d état against the provisional government. ( Russian Revolution ). The
Bolshevik revolution started when, Alexander Kerensky, rather than follow an order. On October 24th,
Kerensky ordered troops that were loyal, to act against the Bolshevik. Encyclopædia Britannica tells
us that, Kerensky was a socialist revolutionary who served as head of the Russian Provisional
Government. ( Aleksandr Kerensky ).
According to History.com Staff, The provisional government had created a group of leaders from
Russia s bourgeois capitalist class. Lenin would alternatively call for a Soviet state that would be
controlled directly by councils of workers, peasants, and soldiers. ( Russian Revolution ). Both
decided that the Soviets was going to be a useful instrument in the next revolution. They didn t want
the Soviets to have all the power until they could control them. In the book, Rise and fall of
Communism 2009, Archie Brown shows us that, On 12 October, according to the old calendar,
Trotsky took command of the Military Revolutionary Committee of the Petrograd Soviet and on 25
October...the Bolsheviks seized power in Petrograd (Brown 51). Insurrection was to start, but there
were complications with the date set. In the book, The History of the Russian Revolution 1960, Leon
Trotsky says, At a session of the Petrograd Soviet on the 18th, Trotsky, in answer to a question raised
by the enemy, declared that the Soviet had not set a date for an insurrection, in the coming days, but
that if it became necessary to set one, the workers and soldiers would come out as one man (Trotsky
162). There were forty thousand workers in the army of Petrograd.
On the 22nd of October, there was a meeting of the Red

Celebrity endorsements are one of the most famous methods of marketing used today. Celebrity
endorsers are being used in about 25% of all the advertisements that we can see on the television.
Marketers are investing large sums of money to have a contract with the celebrities as they believe
that celebrities can affect the chances of success of a product. (Erica Weintraub Austina*, 2008)

Petty and Cacioppo (1981) have developed the elaboration likelihood model of persuasion which
explains the peripheral route to persuasion and the central route. In the peripheral route, persuasive
influences are more tangential to the issues at hand. For egg in a PSA targeted against smoking in
youth, the peripheral route will show the teenagers having a better sex life after quitting smoking.
(William G. Shadel, January 2009) Central processing occurs when the person at hand is aware about
the main message of the PSA and is motivated to consider its content. We will analyze the use of
celebrities for both these routes of persuasion and try to find out the effectiveness in each case.
A PSA is usually not presented to the audience at the time of action. A PSA is supposed to make the
audience think and act on the message later. Thus human memory plays a very important role in the
success of a PSA. (Shen, Monahan, Rhodes, Roskos Ewoldsen, 2009) If the audience is attracted by a
PSA, likes it but is not able to recollect it later the whole exercise ends in futility. Many researchers
have found that for the message to be effective, retained and used highly credible sources of delivering
the message have to be used and these sources of delivery should be able to create a personal connect
with the audience. (Joseph B. Walther1, 2010)In this context if we are using a public celebrity; he has
his own personality and a public image. We will try to

Although every chapter there is a simple lesson being illustrated, Morrie s tough skin allows him to

Morrie talks about death and gives the advice, once you learn how to die, you learn how to live
(Albom 82). To emphasize, Morrie is going through a fatal disease, and even though he knows he is
going to pass away, he continues to push through adversity. Most people, when faced with affiliation
collapse. Instead, Morrie takes the worst in situations, learns from it, and becomes a better person
because of it. Mitch is attempting to get the reader to persevere through any troubling obstacle tossed
their way. Additionally. Albom has a simplistic writing style that I enjoyed; it made for an easy read.
The book flowed well even though it would bounce back to reflect on their past at the end of every
chapter. I still enjoyed this aspect of the book because it gave me a glimpse into their previous
relationship together and helped me understand the book better. The only complaint I have is the short
read: 199 pages. Albom could have expanded the story with extra details so the reader was able to
savor the book longer. Overall, Mitch Albom does a remarkable job of telling his story in the form of a

During the second battle, Henry ran. He didn t run just to run, he ran in fear. Henry saw soldiers
running through smoke in the field so he also decided to run. Just think, if you were sitting there
watching soldiers run, wouldn t you follow them? If Henry decided not to flee, he could ve been there
all alone and open to danger. The enemies could ve easily been right there with him. The reason why
Henry reacts this way is because of fear. The enemies had just finished fighting and Henry thought he

soldiers running through the smoke, he panicked and decided to run along with them. Don t you think
you would follow your soldiers to be safe?

Object Oriented Database
Introduction
Choosing the right OODB architecture can mean orders of magnitude difference in performance and
scalability characteristics rather than a few percentage points as found in relational implementations.
To achieve maximum performance and scalability the most important thing is choosing the right
application architecture. OODBs give applications much more direct access to the persistent data, so
application architecture has much more impact on performance than is the case with an RDB. Or to
put it another way, when using an
OODB the application architect has much more power to optimize performance than when using an
RDB. Consequently the application architecture has more effect on performance and scalability than
the choice of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, a database system contains the five following features:
Persistence
As in a conventional database, data must remain after the process that created it has terminated. For
this purpose data has to be stored permanently on secondary storage.
Secondary Storage Management
Traditional databases employ techniques, which manage secondary storage in order to improve the
performance of the system. These are usually invisible to the user of the system.
Concurrency
The system should provide a concurrency mechanism, which is similar to the concurrency
mechanisms in conventional databases.
Recovery
The system should provide a recovery mechanism similar to recovery mechanisms in conventional
databases.
Ad hoc query facility
The database should provide a high level, efficient, application independent query facility. This needs
not necessarily be a query language but could instead, be some type of graphical interface.
The above criteria are perhaps the most complete attempt so far to define the features of an object
oriented database in 1989. Further attempts to define an OODBS standard were made variables of
researchers. One of them is a group called Object Data Management Group (ODMG). They have
worked on an OODBS standard for the industry. The recent release is ODMG 2 in1997.

The practical value of a risk analysis on key assets depends on the knowledge and completeness with
which the risks are identified. A good analysis requires that the all aspects of the asset be examined to
isolate those conditions, circumstances, activities, and relationships that affect the asset. To effectively
analyze threats against key assets, it is necessary to consider as many of the potential threats as
possible. This requires some in depth knowledge of the asset. Below are a few factors that are
important to organizational assets:
 Physical environment of the asset
 Numbers and capabilities of the attackers
 Telecommunications associated with the asset
 Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans for the asset
 Attractiveness of the asset to attack
13. Knowing that threats can occur within an organization and its many environments and disciplines
will help in determining what threats will affect the asset and what is the likelihood of an attack
occurring. It will also help in determining the consequence or impact of a threat. To help understand
threats and their impact on assets, a mapping of threats with impact is necessary. The following five
impact categories list threats, both direct and indirect may have an impact.

The Factors Associated With Youth Homelessness And Arrest,...
Poverty has long been a consistent characteristic in crime. Numerous theories like Social
Disorganization, Labeling Theory, and Strain Theory have been created to try to explain the
connection between poverty and crime. As these theories demonstrate , the devastating external factors
that poverty causes contribute to crime. Yet, the connection between poverty and crime continues to
deliver new data, adding to the way criminologist analyze crime. These studies develop new methods
including governmental programs , investments in certain areas or change in tax codes for tackling

The ancient tabernacle of Moses was a sacred and holy place for the people of Israel. It served as a
tool for the people to remember God and to look forward to their promised Messiah. The tabernacle
was so integral to the lives of the Israelites that they even built the tabernacle in the center of their
encampments during their journeys (Yom Kippur). The tabernacle also served many purposes for the
Israelites in their rituals, ceremonies, and beliefs of their religion. Many practices that the ancient
Israelites performed in and for the tabernacle anciently, may seem peculiar to the modern thought
process or many beliefs today. The main focus of the tabernacle was the day of Yom Kippur, or Day of
Atonement. On this day, the Israelites would gather and watch as a high priest performed the rituals in
the tabernacle that would rid the sins of the people of Israel. This day and ceremony was a very
important aspect to Israelites beliefs and the tabernacle was the main tool for their ceremonies. The
tabernacle and the day of Yom Kippur served many purposes in helping the Israelites to remember
their God, learn from symbols, and to help them strive to obey their God s commandments.
To be able to understand the symbols and rituals that the Israelites did in the tabernacle, a knowledge
of the tabernacle s history, and specific instructions must be understood. In Mariuce Schmidt s book,

Critical Review Of Educating Rita
Review of Educating Rita
Educating Rita is a dramatic and comedic play about the differences in social class and education in
Britain. The play takes place in the nineteen seventies to the nineteen eighties and is furthermore
written by English playwright, lyricist, and composer William Russell. William Russell, also known as
Willy Russell, was once a hairdresser himself, just like Rita. Though, today he is better known as the
playwright of many successful plays, such as Shirley Valentine and Blood Brothers.
Educating Rita is a play about twenty seven year old Rita from Liverpool. Rita is married to her
husband Denny, who is never seen on stage, and works as a women s hairdresser. Rita lives a
mediocre life as a part of Britain s working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director of the play was Barry McKenna, who has previously directed for That Theatre. He has
also directed modern versions of various famous Shakespeare plays, for instance, Twelfth Night. With
Barry McKenna s previous experiences with interpreting classical plays, I had very high hopes for his
interpretation of Educating Rita.
In Educating Rita, only two people are shown on stage, Rita and Frank. Dawn Wall, a British actress,
played the role of Rita, and Ian Burns played the role of Frank. Ian Burns is British as well and is also
the co founder of That Theatre. Furthermore, he has featured in multiple other plays, in Denmark and
directed by Barry McKenna, such as Proof and Blood Brothers.
Language is of very high importance in Educating Rita. Dawn Wall made a great effort in emphasizing
Rita s roots and social status by staying in a Liverpool inspired Scouse accent, almost throughout the
entire play. This was in stark contrast to Frank s posh and upper class dialect which was combined
with a very intellectual and wide vocabulary. Dawn Wall s way of speaking, use of slang and multiple
vulgar words, definitely gave her character much more life than Ian Burn s character Frank. In
addition to that, Rita also had multiple outfit changes whereas Frank stayed in the same shirt,
positioning the same sweater in different ways on himself throughout the

The Importance Of Religious Freedoms
Statistics have shown that nearly 70 percent of the world...live in countries with high restrictions on
religion (Clark). People all around the world are being persecuted for their beliefs in Religion or for
simply not believing in what society wants them to believe. History has shown this during World War
II, when millions of Jews were killed because of what they believe in. But persecution is not just
something of the past, but a issue of present time. Such as, Islamic Extremism in the middle east that
has forced citizens to become Muslim or else put to death. Religious freedoms are important to have
in a country because it leads to a stronger nation, people have the right, and without it many are
persecuted for their beliefs. First and foremost, having a diverse nation causes society to be stronger.
They are unashamed, bold and outgoing in who they are as a person and in the community. In a
communist country, there is no religious freedoms, the nation is suffering. The economy is poor
quality with its main goal to eliminate the gap between the rich and poor (Comparing). This can result
in people feeling suffocated, with no rights. For example, in the communist country North Korea, the
lack of religious freedoms brought fear to many. The World Watch List states, Christians try to hide
their faith as far as possible to avoid arrest and being sent to a labor camp (New). This is significant
because it shows that in North Korea, religion is stolen away from society

Intercommunion Research Paper
Intercommunion has been a major discussion when it comes to the uniting the Christian churches.
Intercommunion is when non Catholic Christian receive the Eucharist/communion in the catholic
church or when other Christian receive communions in a different church. Although the reason behind
intercommunion is for uniting the different churches, it still challenges belief and practices. The
Catholic Church viewpoint of the Eucharist is different from other Christian, and this creates issues
because there is a different appreciation for it. The catholic Church views the Eucharist as being more
than a symbol (Heintz). To them, it s a special sign that shows the representation of Jesus Christ. The
Eucharist represent the body, blood and soul of Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes it difficult to do intercommunion because it s other Christian receiving the Eucharist in a
church they do not belong to. It defeats the purpose of this sacrament. According to the code of Canon
Law, it is considered illicit or unlawful if a catholic receives communion from a protestant church
because an individual can only be in full communion with one church (Field). Although they may
have an expectation when it comes to the law such when a dying person request for a communion.
Catholics and Intercommunion: Intercommunion is a very touchy subject by Michael Heintz talks
about a significant difference in belief and practice between Catholics and other Christian, and these
differences still exist. This another reason why intercommunion is not possible because to part take in
communion one must believe in what the church practice. But if one do not believe in the practice,
and have a practice of their own then one cannot part take in it. This is a major factor when it comes to
the Eucharist because it connecting the individual to the church. Intercommunion cannot be possible if
the churches have a different understanding of the Eucharist (Heintz). People who do not understand
the meaning of the Eucharist should ask a question before part taking it because it also shows respect.

Stereotypes and Diversity in the Movie, Crash Essay
Stereotyping is a major issue in the world today, however, mostly in the United States. It is known as
fixed impressions, exaggerated or preconceived ideas about particular social groups, usually based
solely on physical appearance (The New York Company). Crash is a great example because it shows
others stereotyping individuals in many ways. According to Schingel, it is the perfect analogy of how
we as a human race deal with life, people and our own experiences. The movie, released in 2005,

There was another example with the Mexican locksmith that had stereotyping involved. For example,
the Persian store owner was frightened that the Mexican was trying to rip him off, however just like
Bullock s assumption, he was incorrect. The locksmith was actually trying to tell him some important
information, but he did not pay attention. For not listening, his store was broken into and he lost a
large amount of money. They could not get past his race to actually get to know him and to realize that
he was right. It is as if they do not recognize the other cultures going on around them.
According to Schingel, judgments are so easy to make. Each one is judged by their own categories.
Instead of looking past their race, individuals criticise each other and most of the time, they are
completely wrong. For example, Cameron, an actor and a Buddhist, was pulled over for driving while
black . Instead of the white LAPD letting him go, Cameron had to get out of the car and take a
drinking test, even though he had not been drinking. He apologizes to the LAPD while the officer is

Lost Boys Sociology
The situation of the Lost Boys could be explained using the 3 major theories in sociology. The first
theory is functionalism. Humans naturally focus on the negative over the positive but functionalism is
typically a theory that looks at things more positively. However, this is obviously not a positive result,
but it does come from a similarly positive, and somewhat idealist point of view. The Lost Boys are an
unintended result of Sudanese People s Liberation Movement. The civil war could be a result of
people feeling that others are stepping out of their roles, and thus have to reestablish what those roles
should be and whom should fill them. Unfortunately the chaos can lead to even greater confusion and
certainly risk destroying a lot. This indirectly lead to these Lost Boys having to find new roles that
suited them better. Even before moving to America, they managed to create those roles amongst
themselves. They created a simpler form of hierarchy and social stratification. They also all played
into one common role of trying to push the group forward in finding a new culture so that they could
create the roles that could truly fit them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Pcr And Gel Electrophoresis
DNA is commonly used in the modern legal system to release the innocent or imprison the guilty.
There are two different ways to create DNA evidence through science technology, PCR and gel
electrophoresis. Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR, is used to create thousands to millions of copies of
DNA, out of a small piece of DNA, this piece is used to make a DNA profile. Doing this makes it
easier to test the DNA. PCR is used to find if a gene has pathogens. They are an infectious agent that
creates illness or disease and it s commonly a virus, parasite or bacteria. (1) Gel electrophoresis is the
technique used to separate molecules from DNA, RNA or proteins, based on the size or electric
charge. It can be used in DNA fingerprinting, the findings and purification of nucleic acids and
proteins. Gel electrophoresis can be used to find pathogens that can be found in blood, tissues or
sources like food. (2) These are some of the methods that are used in court and police cases to
discover DNA.
The process of PCR has 3 steps that repeat in cycles shown in image 1. The first one is the separation
of the two strands of the DNA molecule. This happens by the initial material being heated to 95 °C.

Epic Poem Parody
In the world of literature and poetry, it s typically not hard to find something written about a hero, or
something heroic, like an epic. Epics are long poems, typically told orally in ancient times, about the
adventures of a hero or heroine and their deeds. The Iliad should immediately come to the mind of any
student proficient in western literature. Nonetheless, the themes and archetypes of these works known
as epics are so well known, that they are even parodied, take completely out of context, and pasted on
the wall for laughs. One of the most recognized parodies of this kind would be Alexander Pope s The
Rape of the Lock. The Rape of the Lock is a story about taking a minor incident and satirizing it by
making it into a huge and important epic of divine proportions. One might think of the phrase a
tempest in a teapot , which perfectly describes this poem. In the poem, the main character, a girl
named Belinda, has her hair unwillingly cut by a baron, and the struggle to regain her lost hair even
pulls in mythical creatures like sylphs to describe this epic poem. Pope was actually asked to write
something like this in order to reconcile two Catholic families, as the hair cutting fiasco was based off
a real event that caused bad blood between the two aforementioned families. The man who requested
the poem, John Caryll, hoped that if the two families could laugh about the whole thing, they would
put the whole thing behind them and end their estrangement (Rippy, n.p.).

First, investigators and administrators have to maintain the highest levels of discretion while making
decisions regarding particular cases (Padfield Gelsthorpe, 2012). The question that many people,
therefore, ask is whether these decisions are justified or not. Because they have to ensure success and

Ethical Dilemmas with Governmental Crime, and Public Corruption in the News.
Most of the news stories today report on several scandals involving high profile government officials
with corruption being the major criminal aspect. In a news story reported by Thomas, Ryan, Date, and
Cook (2009), one brazen crime occurred in Tennessee whereby the then Hamilton County Sheriff
William Horace was caught on tape taking bribes. Another case is reported by Wines (2014) whereby
Virginia governor Bob McDonnell was indicted on fraud and conspiracy charges. These are the only
few cases among several strings of scandals that have continued to affect the credibility of public
service. According to Wines (2014), since 2000, there are eight governors and former governors who
have been found guilty of crimes. Doss et al. (2013) point out that there are ethical dilemmas that exist
in all these cases. In a way, one would be right to assert that it is odd to haul politicians and high
profile government officials before judges and prosecutors. Investigators also have a hard task dealing
with such cases especially considering that the persons they are investigating are of high status in
society. This has always created fear among investigators because they have to make hard choices.
The same case applies to prosecutors who feel that ruling a case in favor of a politician would spark

of the classic Disney movies spend a great portion of their screen time painting its leading female

Analysis Of The Of The Flies
Amelia patted him on the shoulder You re aces kid and you know it. Tell them! It seemed to be too
much encouragement because the blush ran higher and he went quiet. Cassandra gave Edgar a wink
and a teasing smile, she knew how to relax him when it seemed none of the others did. William
glanced at Penelope Actually, I think you should contract Penelope she s the only one here who hasn t
shown her tricks yet. This was an undeniable truth, Penelope had always possessed the ability to go
unnoticed, it was bordering on the superhuman.
One of her strongest public school memories was of being in class, back then she had an inability to
talk in front of people without the sensation of losing consciousness. Her science teacher, Mr. Dotty ...

Sorry, I got trapped in my head. Cassandra smiled We know, you were projecting your thoughts. Did
they really forget you for forty minutes? A rush of insecurity enveloped her, it was hard to imagine
that her thoughts were not her own. Ya. Sorry about that. There was a light laughter, Edgar was the
one to offer comfort Everyone shares their thoughts by accident, especially when they re new, you will
get used to it. I started humming songs from Grease in my head when I first got here, Summer Lovin
got stuck in everyone s head for a week. William laughed Please! My first day I thought that my
instructor was being a Dilapidated balloon fondler. I got detention for a week. Cassandra stood up
dramatically and held up her hands I m sorry to say this but, my story is worse than all of those. When
I first got here I had a habit of not wanting to remember anyone s name so I gave everyone nicknames.
There was a knowing snicker that passed through the group Oh, hush! Anyhow, William was the
Carrie Grant , Edgar was Juno s boyfriend , Amelia was mad cater , Cleo was the bitch of senile and
Thomas was... the naughty biscotti. Little did I know that every time I referred to them as that in my
head, they heard it... for three months.
She sat back down with a flush at a genuinely embarrassing memory, everyone was giggling, Amelia
spoke It s fine little dove, everyone has long since forgiven and forgotten. Besides you re not the same

Persuasive Essay On Racism Goes Away
A little more than a week ago, the news headlines were dominated by stories of hatred, violence, racial
divides, protests and death. After Hurricane Harvey made landfall bringing with it an onslaught of rain
devastating Southern Texas, the narrative began changing for the better. Admittedly, since the
devastation to property and loss of life is real, there is still communication about heartache and loss.
However, throughout the news coverage showing the storm s aftereffects, there is a great deal of focus
on the good going on in Houston. On the regular Americans who are working tirelessly to get to
stranded residents in need of assistance. This, not the display in Charlotte, is what represents real
America. The silent majority are rising up to help their fellow Americans in many ways. Read on to
learn more:
Racism Goes Away:
When a tragedy like is occurring happens within the country, Americans respond in the best of ways.
No longer does it matter what color a person is or where they live, life is the only thing that matters.
First responders, although some of them are also dealing with their loss of property, are still going out
time and time again in an effort to bring people to safety. Other Americans are coming from states
away to be of help to the people of Texas. There is no racial divide among rising flood waters, there is
only the desire for dry land.
Help is Coming From States Away:
The so called Cajun Navy, which is a ragtag group of regular citizens serving

How Did Henry Viii Influence The Government Of The Tudor...
The reign of the Tudor family is prominent for many occurrences with two monarchs standing out
Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. But the 118 years of Tudor England have a great deal to thank Henry VII
(also known as Henry Tudor) as he got them off to a stable and powerful start (history learning site).
He is mostly notable for ending the dynastic wars known as the Wars of the Roses and founded the
House of Tudors.
Henry VII was born in England at a time when it was divided by a civil war known as The War of the
Roses. The War of the Roses was fought between supporters of two rival branches of the Royal House
of Plantagenet. King Edward III of England (House of Plantagenet) had many sons. John of Gaunt, his
third son, became the 1st Duke of Lancaster (House of Lancaster) and Edmund of Langley, his fourth
son, became the 1st Duke of York (House of York). The conflict stems ... Show more content on

Morton s Fork , named after John Morton, was a method of ensuring that nobles paid increased
Yanez !4 taxes(The Columbia Encyclopedia). Those nobles who spent little must have saved much,
which meant they could afford the tax. Henry strengthened the government and his own power, at the
expense of the nobles. The English monarchy had never been one of the wealthiest of Europe and even
more so after the War of the Roses. Through his monetary strategy, Henry managed to steadily
accumulate wealth during his reign, so that by the time he died, he left a considerable fortune to his
son, Henry VIII(Gordon, Marsden).
Henry VII was clearly a successful king. He had several goals that he had accomplished by the end of
his reign. He had established a new dynasty after 30 years of struggle, he had strengthened the judicial
system as well as the treasury and had successfully denied all the other claimants to his
throne(Francis, Bacon). The monarchy that he left to his son was a fairly secure one and most
definitely a wealthy

The Role of Beatrice Portinari in Dante The Divine Comedy
Beatrice Portinari is seen throughout the book of Dante The Divine Comedy . She originally meets
Dante in the year 1274, on May Day in Florence, Italy. Beatrice is from a wealthy Florentine family
and was eight years old the first time they meet and did not speak a word to each other (Cotter, 21).
She was the principle inspiration for Dante s La Vita Nuova, a book about Dante s love connection to
her (Passages to the Past). Dante and Beatrice have only met twice, but Dante was so touched by both
meetings he shares his love for Beatrice with the reader. The second encounter occurred when they
passed each other on the streets of Florence. She turned and greeted him; this filled him with such joy
that he ran to his room and started to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this sense Beatrice seems as the only evidence on why Dante should continue his journey through
hell. Beatrice is the reason why Dante even made it through the underworld, by sending a guide down
to help him. Her love for him got him through hell and on to the next chapter of his journey. Beatrice
is seen in Dante s Purgatory when she comes to him in a griffin drawn chariot. She comes down to
Dante wearing a white veil representing faith, a green cape symbolizing hope and underneath the cape
she wore a robe of flaming red signifying burning love. When she first arrives to Dante she comes to
him in a harsh approach, something like an admiral. She does this to try to get a confession out of
Dante, and mention to him that he cannot continue his journey if he is not happy and cleansed
(University of Texas at Austin). Beatrice comes to him and mentions to him that Virgil can no longer
help on his quest, he cannot leave limbo. Beatrice speaks to Dante and tells him to not weep about the
fact that Virgil cannot help him on his journey anymore, but to look forward to the next point in his
journey. She comes to him and tells Dante to wash himself in the waters of Lethe (Kline). This will
cleanse him and take away his sins. She also mentions the waters of Euone will help restore good in
Dante. Beatrice can take Dante on to the next realm through

Rkki Tikki Movie And Movie Analysis
Rikk tikk tikki tikki tchk! (Kipling Pg 143). This will be comparing the story Rikki Tikki Tavi and the
movie Rikki Tikki Tavi. The similarities and differences will be how the family never gives Rikki
Tikki a name, How the snake keeps his story, and Rikki Tikki acts in the bathroom with Nag. To begin
in the Movie Rikki Tikki is given the name by the son (Teddy) unlike the Book. In the movie after
finding him, they take him back to the house and warmed him up, then the boy decided to call him
Rikki Tikki. But in the book (Kipling pg 144) there is no such scene, all he does is go around the
house and gets fed. Throughout the whole book there is no mention of the family saying his name.
Even after Nag sneaks in the washroom the book just says It s the mongoose again, Alice; the little
chap has saved our lives now. (Kipling Pg 151). This is also shown in the movie word for word, but
the only parts in which they say the name Rikki Tikki is the parts they added, for instance, right after
killing Nag the mother in the movie says Oh, Rikki you are so brave and beautiful . Then is the story
(Kipling Pg 151) it says Then Teddy s mother came in with a very white face and saw what was left of
Nag, and Rikki tikki dragged himself to Teddy s bedroom and spent half the rest of the night shaking
himself tenderly to find out whether he really was broken into forty pieces, as he fancied. no word
even relating to Rikki being brave or beautiful. And that lead me to believe that they

  • 2. Sociology Worldviews A worldview is a philosophy and outlook of the world around us typically held by a group or members of society (Funk, 2001). Worldviews and society around us significantly impact the way we view and think about culture and education. The Milne (2013) quote discusses the idea that when children are young they do not have these views on culture and other s beliefs. Children at a young age, have not been exposed to views of others, and therefore are oblivious and innocent to the worldviews and race issues. It does not matter to young children, as they don t care where they put the colours (Milne, 2013, p. 6). Normalisation is very prevalent within our society (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2003). This normalisation is created by society through views of others and takes on a position of what is normal and what is abnormal in society (Mika, 2017). The dominant group within society is typically considered to be normal , while those outside of the dominant group classifications, are considered different and abnormal. This causes people from outside of the dominant group to aspire to be part of this normal group, as they consider this to be of more benefit than to be placed within the diverse category. Therefore, aspiring to climb higher within the social ladder that has been created through society expectations of normalisation (Theodorou, 2011). When discussing diversity, often it is in relation to how different it is from the normal, typically white background (Milne, 2013). This means that it is causing the other groups to be put in boxes according to how different their culture and beliefs are from the normal, as opposed to recognising unique cultures as something to be valued. • 3. What Is The Positive Impact Of Broadcast Journalism CNJ 319 Final Exam Leixi Wang 746 words If there is one thing I believe in is that journalism, specifically broadcast journalism, helped greatly in the advancement of communications technologies and vice versa. With the introduction of radio and television, the hunger for more information and accessing the information quicker grew tremendously. Maybe not the best time in terms of world peace, but with the drive to spread the information out as fast and as widely as possible, it did help drive for a better further, a more peaceful future where people received the information first hand and from many different angles. Even with these technological advancements, it was not always a positive impact on the journalism front, and I will analyze the pros and cons in this paper. With the invention of the telegraph, proving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus the television was introduced to the general public at around WWII time, where it slowly took over the radio as the preferred method broadcasting. With television the benefit of having the image right in front of the viewer brings in more realism to the news, it gives the viewer a better feel of actually being in the moment. This also changed the way journalism worked, as the journalists came from the guys doing the background work and writing the scripts to actually being seen on television or heard on radio. Over ally technology has brought around more positives than negatives for the journalism industry, growing the audience base to number that could not have been possible with just newspaper, it also provided easier ways to engage the viewers and listeners as especially in the 19th and early 20th century there were still many people that could not read. • 4. Recrystallization Lab Report The solid organic compounds that we use in reactions or that come from natural sources tend to have impurities. One way for us to remove these impurities and obtain our desired product is by using a technique called recrystallization. Our goal in this experiment is to prove that recrystallization is a method to purify a solid organic compound with contaminants. In Part A we will purify acetanilide by recrystallization and in Part B we will distinguish the best way to select the solvent required to recrystallize the solute. Removing the solid impurities of an organic compound involves a series of steps. The first step is to dissolve the solid in the minimum amount of the appropriate hot solvent. Crystallization takes advantage of the fact that most solids are more soluble in a hot than in a cold solvent. We need a solute that is soluble in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, if a solid is first dissolved in an amount of hot solvent that does not dissolve it when cold, crystals should form when the hot solution is allowed to cool. The second step is using hot vacuum filtration, which removes the insoluble impurities from the hot mixture. The acetanilide given to us had two impurities, one soluble and one insoluble in the hot water. The insoluble impurity can be removed after the acetanilide is dissolved in the hot solvent and filtered. Most of the solvent may be evaporated from the crystals as the vacuum pulls the air through the crystals on the funnel, but the acetanilide will still contain the more soluble impurity. It is important to let the solution cool slowly in order for the molecules to line up in an organized way and form the crystals. We also need to make sure that the filter flask in clamped and that we use the appropriate tubes for the vacuum as well as the appropriate sized filter paper. After letting the solution cool, we begin the process of recrystallization in order to remove the soluble impurity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Stereotypes In Lap Dance In mainstream media and film, strippers are given a very narrow representation when they re even included in a storyline at all: The women and men who make up the sex industry tend to be painted with a broad brush, being portrayed as morally corrupt. It s implied that they either joined the industry because of their negative traits, or that those traits were developed during their time working in it. This harmful stereotype is pretty consistently perpetuated, and done so through both male and female characters. The film being used here to provide a few examples of this stereotype is Lap Dance (Greg Carter), a 2014 film about a woman who begins working as an exotic dancer to supplement her income. When the main character Monica is first introduced in the film, she learns her father has cancer. Soon after, the doctor informs Monica and her fiancé Kevin that insurance is no longer covering his hospital stay. He them that the payment required for hospice care totals to fifteen thousand dollars, which neither of them have. Monica is disheartened and takes up a job working at a nail salon, where she runs into an old friend of hers who works as a dancer. The friend, whose name is Tasha, tries to convince Monica to come dance with her at her club. At first, Monica insists she can t do it. However, after the reality of the current money dilemma sets in, she decides she has nothing to lose. When Monica begins dancing, she s still very innocent and naïve. Within the first few ... One of these emerging markets can be found in the Eurasian country of Turkey. Through an analysis of their government, current economic state, their geographic location and other similar traits of Turkey s culture, we are better able to understand where this growth in the economy has stemmed from and how it can continue to improve within time. In looking at Turkey s government, it is made apparent the similarities that it shares with the United States. As a democratic nation, Turkey hold both a constitution through which they abide by as well as the same three branch of the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary. Within the Executive branch of their government, houses the President who is elected by the Grand National Assembly members, of the legislative branch, by popular vote. • 7. Pros And Cons Of The Electoral College There are some that would argue that the Electoral College should not be abolished. Williams argued, According to 2013 census data, nine states California, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, and Michigan have populations that total roughly 160 million, slightly more than half the U.S. population. It is conceivable that just nine states could determine the presidency in a popular vote (Williams). Consequently, without the Electoral College, nine states can possibly determine the results of an election. Those that support the Electoral College think that elections should be by state instead of a vote per person. The Electoral College can keep unqualified candidates from winning an election and therefore, become president. Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States. It will not be too strong to say, that there will be a constant probability of seeing the station filled by characters pre eminent for ability and virtue (Williams). Tragedy Definition Aristotle defines a tragedy as a representation of an action which is important, complete and limited in length. It is enacted not recited and by arousing pity and fear, it gives an outlet to emotions of this type. However, for the Elizabethans, more specifically for Marlowe and Shakespeare, tragedy is not a restrictive view of human excellence or weakness as the Greeks are often inclined to present but an affirmative view of human aspirations whose pursuit brings a glory to the definition of a man. Divinity adieu: These metaphysics of magicians, And necromantic books are heavenly: The Strength of theTragedy The play is a human tragedy for not only is Faustus tragically constituted in his boundless ambitions but, at the same time, the play questions the effectiveness of the cultural aspirations that shape his ambitions. Consequently, the play provides a complex interaction between the human dimensions of the dramatic character and the ambiguities and ambivalences of the cultural situation the character is placed in. Yet while the play seems to offer a very basic Christian message that one should avoid temptation and sin, and repent if one cannot avoid temptation and sin its conclusion can be interpreted as straying from orthodox Christianity in order to conform to the structure of tragedy. In a traditional tragic play, as pioneered by the Greeks and imitated by William Shakespeare, a hero is brought low by an error or series of errors and realizes his or her mistake only when it is too late. In Christianity, though, as long as a person is alive, there is always the possibility of repentance so if a tragic hero realizes his or her mistake, he or she may still be saved even at the last moment. But though Faustus, in the final, wrenching scene, comes to his senses and begs for a chance to repent, it is too ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though both sports require a horse, there are differences in the equipment you ride in, the type of horse, and the basics of the sport. The first difference is the type of equipment used in the sport. When riding, you use a saddle of course, but saddles are made a hundred different ways for certain types of activity. For example, the saddle you use. For a barrel racer, which is western, the saddle you use has a longer horn for the ability to grab it when turning the barrels. The saddle is also heavier and thicker so it allows the barrel racer to sit deep in the seat when going fast. For a jumper, which is english riding, the saddle has no horn and is extremely light. (Russian Revolution ). The October Revolution has also been called the Bolshevik Revolution since the Bolshevik Party played a crucial role in the revolution. The leader of the Bolshevik Party, Vladimir Lenin was a big supporter of Karl Marx. Another Marxist who leads this revolution was Leon Trotsky. In an article by the History.com Staff, Lenin had created an, almost, bloodless coup d état against the provisional government. ( Russian Revolution ). The Bolshevik revolution started when, Alexander Kerensky, rather than follow an order. On October 24th, Kerensky ordered troops that were loyal, to act against the Bolshevik. Encyclopædia Britannica tells us that, Kerensky was a socialist revolutionary who served as head of the Russian Provisional Government. ( Aleksandr Kerensky ). According to History.com Staff, The provisional government had created a group of leaders from Russia s bourgeois capitalist class. Lenin would alternatively call for a Soviet state that would be controlled directly by councils of workers, peasants, and soldiers. ( Russian Revolution ). The learner s role was to pair the first word with the correct term (Milgram, 1963). Unknown to the teacher, in all conditions the learner gives a predetermined set of responses to the word pair test, based on the schedule of approximately three wrong answers to one correct answer (Milgram, 1963). To authenticate the potential electrical intensity to the learner the teacher is sampled with a 45 volt shock to the wrist. • 45. Rkki Tikki Movie And Movie Analysis Rikk tikk tikki tikki tchk! (Kipling Pg 143). This will be comparing the story Rikki Tikki Tavi and the movie Rikki Tikki Tavi. The similarities and differences will be how the family never gives Rikki Tikki a name, How the snake keeps his story, and Rikki Tikki acts in the bathroom with Nag. To begin in the Movie Rikki Tikki is given the name by the son (Teddy) unlike the Book. In the movie after finding him, they take him back to the house and warmed him up, then the boy decided to call him Rikki Tikki. But in the book (Kipling pg 144) there is no such scene, all he does is go around the house and gets fed. Throughout the whole book there is no mention of the family saying his name. Even after Nag sneaks in the washroom the book just says It s the mongoose again, Alice; the little chap has saved our lives now. (Kipling Pg 151). This is also shown in the movie word for word, but the only parts in which they say the name Rikki Tikki is the parts they added, for instance, right after killing Nag the mother in the movie says Oh, Rikki you are so brave and beautiful . Then is the story (Kipling Pg 151) it says Then Teddy s mother came in with a very white face and saw what was left of Nag, and Rikki tikki dragged himself to Teddy s bedroom and spent half the rest of the night shaking himself tenderly to find out whether he really was broken into forty pieces, as he fancied. no word even relating to Rikki being brave or beautiful.
