Explain The Spiral Cycle Of Spiral Methodology
Figure 1 spiral model
Spiral model is a software development methodology that used the pros of waterfall model and RAD
(Rapid application development) concept. It is a type of methodology that having a lot of risk analysis
about the difficulties occurs and the early version of program can be developed quickly by using
prototyping. Next, this methodology is having strong communication with the end user due to its cycle
(also referring to spirals in this methodology) keep repeating. It also is using the latest module that
created during the previous cycle for developing next prototype. Next, when the troubles are not
resolved able, developers can realize earlier. This can let the organization decide whether this project
should continue or not. The cycle will continue loop until the primary people feel comfortable with the
design.
Figure 1 of starting point will be the initial step of the cycle. After completed moved 360 degree,

solution created by the developers and plan for another iterative phase, cycle. The cycle will repeat

The Importance Of The Second Amendment To The United...
Do you know what function the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution actually serves?
No, it is not so that people can go hunting or protect themselves against personal assault. Neither is it a
stupid, brainless provision that some lamebrain slipped into the Constitution.
Like a shield of freedom, it is one of the primary reasons that the United States Constitution still
stands.
As one who is not a gun owner, I treasure the Second Amendment. It is one of our best safeguards
against tyranny, not from foreign governments, but from our own.
This amendment reads, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the
right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The militia written of here is a volunteer army that basically provides its own weapons. That is, these
are soldiers who are already armed, who already have their own guns.
In The Federalist Papers, the authors wrote of concerns that a standing army could lead to tyranny
(loss of freedom), so the Second Amendment was conceived in such a way that the U.S. could have an
army at need, and would not have to have a large standing army. This was so that the national
government would not threaten our freedom. (Trust me; it s in there.)
There are historical examples of governments wanting to tighten their controls over the people, so
they went out and disarmed the people (like the sword hunt in Japan), or made it illegal for them to
own weapons (there are

Essay On Generation Z
Unimaginable. A group of boys who set out to escape World War II cling on for dear life so tomorrow
won t slip away. They fight to live another day in the hope of being rescued. Terrified. The group of
boys develop fears that tear away at their relationships and sanity. Impossible. A group of technology
ridden, social media obsessed, lazy teenagers, could never be self sufficient. Unprepared. A world
where falling short is the equivalent of destruction would be a first for the technology ridden, lazy
teenagers. Lost cause. Generation Z, incapable of success or prosperity. Everyone is the same and
everyone is bound to disappoint. Every single person perfectly fits into societies labels and definitions
of themselves. Generation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In any generation, from the Greatest Generation to Generation Alpha, you have your outdoorsy
people, your video gamers, your pushovers, your leaders, your cooks and the people who can t even
make microwave popcorn. While certain things are supposed to affect a generation s behavior, some
will affect certain people and other s won t. Just like we all have a different code of DNA, different
fingerprints or hairs on our heads, our personalities also differ. Maybe some people from Generation Z
will fall apart without their devices, but others could care less about modern technology. One cannot
address a generation and using the traits given to the age group, decide their capability in different
scenarios. One thing that can be done, is understanding that everyone was made to have different skills
for the exact purpose of being the yin to someone s yang. To fill the empty spaces others cannot.
Whether any group of people is thought of as deadbeats or not, humans were made to succeed. I
choose to believe that we are all capable of surviving with a group of other people and Generation Z is
included in that. We are everything, from leaders to slackers. We may be hopeless in some areas, but
no one is completely useless and everyone has something to contribute. With the right motivation,
Generation Z will survive. The same goes for the Millennials, Generation X, all generations

Was World War 1 Inevitable
With over thirty eight million casualties and over seventeen million recorded deaths, the First World
War was one of the deadliest conflicts that the worldwide population has ever seen. World War I has
been particularly exclusive in history in comparison to previous battles, by reason of the first major
involvement of the world s major powers in warfare in addition to the war s foundation of causes that
eventually led to the unavoidable commencement of bloodshed. The First World War was inevitable
for many reasons that traced back to the beginning of the twentieth century, such as the formulation of
European alliances, the inauguration of the armaments race and martial strength in European nations,
and the rise of the encouragement of nationalism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These nationalistic feelings allowed European citizens to grow extreme morale in their nation, in
addition their country s individual strength in military and government. With the birth of these
sentiments, however; neighbouring countries that made up the continent were denounced and
portrayed to the public as untrustworthy, uncivilized, and threatening in regards to their country. Due
to this, many rivalries and tensions between borders occurred, with the inclusion of the public in
addition to their powerful leaders. Nationalistic pride was launched in European countries for multiple
different reasons, depending on the state of the country at the time. For example, Great Britain s views
regarding nationalism was apparent in relation to the country s past of maintaining strength and
prosperity through peaceful relations, while nationalism was clear in Germany as a symbol of future
imperialism and overwhelming continental strength. Either way, strong feelings of nationalism
allowed Europe s borders to become even more divided than usual, as a result of providing an outlet
for national superiority and the encouraging antagonization of surroundings nations. In short,
nationalism allowed the First World War to become even more unavoidable, since tensions rose to the
brink of both fear and confidence of the major powers: a perfect setup

Public Policies Are Culturally Driven Summary
One of the problems areas we have talked about this semester centers on the actual definition of public
policy. Why is public policy so difficult to define? According to Chapter 1 of our text, political
scientists have continually addressed the problem without reaching a consensus. The term public
policy always refers to the actions of government and the intentions that determine those actions.
Making policy requires choosing among goals and alternatives, and choice always involves intention.
Since political agendas change frequently and the rational actors also change, it is easy to see why a
consensus is not commonly attained. Morgenthau stated, To understand policy one must first
understand the complexity. Braybrooke prescribes policy as a combination of incrementalism and
utilitarianism. This combination provides the complexity through its rich fullness. Incrementalism
allows the continuation of sequences to describe the problem trends so that through his unique
combination with utilitarianism he achieves the agent that will take responsibility for the problem;
hence providing a possible description of the method to create the policy.

Lynn tells us that public policy is the output of a political system that comprises individuals who come
together in small groups within the framework of organizations characterized by hierarchy, the
division of labor, and specialization. Laswell put it simply as who gets it when, where, why and how.
So in response to the posed question, the answer is there is no true definition and that each scholar and
organizational unit create the definition that serves them the best.

The Dramatic Impact and Importance of Witches in William...
The Dramatic Impact and Importance of Witches in William Shakespeare s Macbeth
The witches in Macbeth have a large dramatic impact and play a key role in Macbeth, so they are also
important. This play was written roughly 400 years ago and so the majority of the population then
would have been very superstitious. This means that there would have been a much larger impact on
the audience. The witches are also important, as with out them Macbeth would not have had the idea
to kill Duncan.

The witches in Macbeth are very important. We see the direct effect the have had on Macbeth after the
first meeting. He begins to talk in soliloquy or aside this shows he does not want others to hear what
he is thinking and so with out realising has began to scheme [Aside] If chance may have me king, why
chance may crown me with out my stir . We also can see that the witches are important to the actual
character Macbeth, he echoes a riddle of theirs as his first line in the play fair is foul and foul is fair to
So foul and fair a day I have not seen . Before we even see Macbeth he is being described as a hero by
the captain For brave Macbeth well he deserved that name . He is the rewarded with a traitor s title by
Duncan and then he meets the witches, after the meeting with them we see that he is actually changing
(for the worse). We can also see this through the break down of Banquo and Macbeth s friendship.
Comparing Banquo and Macbeth is also useful; we can see that the impact of the witches on Macbeth
differs to Banquo. Banquo has a reluctance to accept what the witches said What, can the devil speak
true? compared to Macbeth Glamis and Thane of Cawdor. The greatest is behind . Macbeth is not
doubting what they said but thinking about what was said, Banquo is not sure whether to accept what
they said as true or not (as he recognises their evil) Macbeth seems

High School Sports Good Essay
Do you spend more time on your phone, or on the court playing basketball? In today s day and age,
the majority of adults and kids would have answered their phone. Before today s day and age, kids
would play outside as their main source of entertainment. In modern day society all kids will do is stay
inside and play video games and have no form of physical activity. Although sports do have their ups
and downs I guarantee that you will see that the positives of playing sports outweigh the bad. The first
reason to support that sports are helpful for young people is that playing sports in high school reduces
stress as well as increase your confidence. In Katie Couric s Notebook: Kids and Sports, she mentions,
In a study done by the university of Alberta they found that playing sports gives kids confidence.

In Katie Couric s Notebook: Kids and Sports she explains that during the season kids that play sports
get increased grades. This could be credited to teachers threatening to remove them from the team
among other reasons. On Are High School Sports Good For Kids it further clarifies this by referencing
a study in Michigan that shows that children who participate in sports have increased educational
aspirations, closer ties to school and increased occupational aspirations in youth. It is shown that
sports cause this because when the season ends their marks drop back to normal.
There are exponentially more reasons on why you should play sports in high school than reasons why
should not play sports in high school. Playing sports in high school can range from improving your
grades all the way to preventing heart disease, these along with good coaches and refs makes sports
both enjoyable and fun to play. In conclusion, playing sports in high school is advantageous in a
variety of ways other than exercise and remember to always be a good

What Causes Lady Macbeth To Blame
After he listens to lady Macbeth and commits murder, Macbeth starts seeing wicked dreams and
having self hatred which promotes the unbearable consequences he will be facing before his end.
Early in the play, Macbeth s murder of the king leads to wicked dreams and less sleep which show
weak of a character macbeth really is because he never wanted to kill anyone but his wife forced him
and after he killed, he constantly saw horrifying dreams and could not sleep no more and was just not
able to handle the consequences. After Macbeth killed Banquo, he starts to feel guilty and he tells lady

untrustable and dreadful because she was the one to fill Macbeth s head with wrong actions and told

and he did so, later in the play lady Macbeth started to feel the guilt and was seen walking in her sleep

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF EQUILIBRIUM CONSTANT FOR A
REACTION
ABSTRACT
UV VIS spectrophotometry is one of the most widely used methods for determining and identifying
many inorganic species. During this experiment, this spectrophotometry was used to determine the
equilibrium constant, Keq, of the Fe3+(aq)+SCN (aq)↔ FeSCN2+(aq) reaction. By determining the
amount of light absorbed, the concentration of the colored FeSCN2+ solution was also quantitatively
determined. From that data, the concentrations of the reagents at equilibrium may also be determined.
This experiment should thus provide a Keq value without computing for the concentration of each of
the species in the reaction. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beer s Law states that absorbance is directly proportional to the concentration c of the absorbing
species, and to the path length b of the absorbing medium by a proportionality constant called the
absorptivity a. In our experiment, we expressed the concentration of the absorbing species in terms of
mol/L and the path length in centimetres. Thus, the proportionality constant becomes the molar
absorptivity ε. We set the wavelength of the spectrophotometer to 447 nm so we could achieve
maximum sensitivity. At this point, the change in absorbance per unit of concentration is greatest and
there is greater adherence to Beer s Law.

Apocalypse Now By Francis Ford Coppola
In Francis Ford Coppola s, Apocalypse Now (1979), you follow the journey of Captain Benjamin L.
Willard, as he makes his way up the Nung River on a US Navy patrol boat in Vietnam to assassinate
Colonel Walter Kurtz. Coppola s film reflects the Vietnam war and all the horrors seen and unseen
associated with it. Specifically, the dissent into madness and the dehumanizing effects of war. Coppola
uses the river to symbolize this dissent into madness. The further up the river the crew got, the more
dehumanized they became. Even Coppola s choice of title Apocalypse Now screams what this movie
is about. This symbolism accompanied by perfectly paired music and camera angles that often cast
shadows strongly show the madness of war. Coppola expresses the decline into insanity in stages. In
this first stage, there is still have plenty of light and very few shadows. This stage represents the
dehumanization of the enemy and it is where we first meet Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore. Coppola perfectly
pairs the song Ride of The Valkyries with a scene of Kilgore flying in with helicopters and tearing up
a village. As the song plays, we can see an uneven match between the Americans and the natives. Just
like a Valkyrie, Kilgore is seen as a decider of who lives and who dies. This is further enforced by the
fact that Kilgore is a part of the Air Calvary. A division of the Army that was once known to ride
around on horses, implying that Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore is one of the four horsemen of

Proper waste disposal reduces the impact of waste into the atmosphere by observing the proper
methods of disposing. Because improper disposal of our wastes imposes cost on others, waste disposal
has been a big political issue. Dirty disposal methods such as dumping are big problems nowadays.
Though the easiest among any method, it creates health risks for the public. Waste disposal was not
always observed and monitored properly; therefore, everyone must comply with the methods used in
order to achieve environmental advantages. Achieving this awareness in proper waste disposal is
important to lessen the waste we dispose improperly.
Discussion
Waste disposal is either disposing our wastes in water, on land, or anywhere. Waste is usually
managed where it can prevent the releasing of pollutants in our environment. Before disposing our
wastes, it is a must that they may be classified according to its physical, chemical, and biological
characteristics. By classifying them according to consistency is the major way of classification;
whether it is a liquid waste, a solid waste, or sludge. Liquid wastes must be less than 1% solid. On the
other hand, solid wastes must contain less than 70% water. Sludge is another classification of waste
materials; being somewhere in between a liquid and a solid. It must contain 3 and 25% solid and the
rest is made up of water.
Hazardous and Non hazardous Wastes One must also know how to

Jurassic Park Controversy
Jurassic Park, a favored sci fi, action, adventure film in 1993, is about a scientist who extracts Dyno
DNA from mosquitoes preserved in a sticky substance called, Amber. Filled with excitement and
suspense, people may question how such a film was produced. In 1993, films required specific
animation processes, but during that time frame, it was fairly easy to spot the lack of realism. Jurassic
Park chose to pursue a different direction and not rely on animation completely. The development of
the film, process of dinosaurs, and animation are all key components to Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park, a
science fiction action adventure film, was directed by Steven Spielberg. But, not all credit can go to
Spielberg; originally, a man named Michael Crichton, wrote the novel Jurassic Park in 1990. Crichton,
an American best selling author, physician, producer, director, and screenwriter, is known for his
science fiction and thriller genres. Crichton was then asked by four studios to have screen rights over
his novel, Jurassic Park. After allowing Universal Studios screen right of Jurassic Park, Crichton
received $500,000 dollars in return for the acceptance. That following year, the filming of Jurassic
Park began. Throughout Jurassic Park s process, Crichton wanted the dinosaurs so realistic that he

Romeo And Juliet Doomed In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare tells the story of two people in love, both from wealthy
families who hate each other. Romeo comes from the Montague family, while Juliet comes from the
Capulet family. Although the reasoning for the feud between their families is unknown, it results in
many young people killing each other. The story ends tragically with Romeo and Juliet both killing
themselves, but this only happens because of the feud between their parents. Romeo and Juliet
unexpectedly meet during a party and later, once they realize who the other is and the family they
come from, they know the relationship is doomed. After Juliet figures out that the mysterious man she
met at her father s party was Romeo, she says My only love sprung from my only hate! She says this
because her family and Romeo s family hate each other, but she is in love with Romeo. Since Romeo
and Juliet are in love, they can t stay away from each other and meet secretly. Romeo and Juliet feel

Comparing Emerson And Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson says There is a time in every man s education when he arrives at the conviction
that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide. This quote is immensely true you should always be
true to yourself and you shouldn t envy people you don t really know that much about. You should
stay true to yourself because if you want to imitate someone who are killing yourself figuratively.
How is your inner self alive if you don t display it no one knows who you really are so your soul is
dead to others. They would just see that you are like everyone else or like someone else in particular
and then you will be compared to the other person which isn t what people usually want. If someone
were to compare you to someone and you are just off there in the corner hearing this and they are
saying blah blah he s/she s exactly like so and so and you are just like no I m me , but you have no
proof because what they are saying is true. Your inner self would never be known to people if you like
to hide away and just do what it is popular they we ll see you as just no one special and everyone
wants to have something different about them that s what makes people awesome there is not two of
the same exact people, so why would you want to strive to be exactly like another person. ... Show

Prostitution
Casual sex for currency has been a major part of history that many upstanding citizens frown upon or
overlook completely. ?Wherever we find evidence of human culture, we find evidence of
prostitution.? (Fanni) Prostitution may in fact be the world?s oldest profession; as early as the third
millennium B.C. In ancient times, prostitution was a way of worshipping and honoring the gods.
The first major civilization, Mesopotamia, honored the goddess Ishtar with money earned from
prostitution. The goddess Ishtar was a reflection of the planet Venus, and was reborn in the morning
only to become a ?whore? at night.
Ancient civilizations treated prostitution with little hypocrisy and an open mind. ?Prostitutes were
regarded as little more than objects to be paid a handful of coins they were also seen as a public
necessity.? Today prostitution could be more than it has ever been due to new medications and means
of protection, precautions are known and can be taken to make this job safer than it has ever been,
ultimately giving unemployed men and women who are interested a chance; currency for sex has
always been the way of mankind and will continue to be a part of mankind throughout the future.

Jan Van Eyck s Wedding Portrait And The Aztec Marriage Couple
Although they appear vastly different, Jan van Eyck s Wedding Portrait, and the painting of the Aztec
Marriage Couple have several similarities. The obvious similarity the paintings share is subject matter.
They both depict a couple participating in a wedding ceremony. Another similarity between both
works is the depiction of witnesses to the marriage. In van Eyck s work, the witnesses s reflections can
be seen in the mirror in the background of the painting. The Aztec Marriage Couple shows the
witnesses more clearly as the ones surrounding the couple getting married. The paintings were both
most likely used for the same purpose; to document and legalize the marriages. The differences in the
paintings are a bit more obvious than the similarities.

America s Competitive Advantage
I ve always been a calm and collective individual, favoring the slow and calculated approach to
problem solving, assuring the problem is achieved to maximum success. As such, I m the kind of
person to try everything first hand, in order to find out the true best way in order to accomplish a task,
despite what a guide may say. However, I also have the intelligence to do so in a productive way. They

just that, and was able to create a better wheel. At the end of the day, it is still a wheel, but it s this

Mentoring the Black Male
The research topic I plan to focus on involves studying the experiences of African American males
who have formed mentoring relationships as undergraduates, particularly when the mentor is a Black
male and the relationship takes place at Clemson or other PWIs in the south. In my opinion, these
relationships can have a profound impact on a student s ability to persist towards graduating from
college. Though my research, I want to hear the experiences of Black males who have benefited from
successful mentoring relationships with other Black men. As a mentor, I believe that establishing a
strong mentoring relationship with Black males at a young age can greatly improve their chance of
academic success. Furthermore, I believe that mentoring is a strong early intervention mechanism to
prevent Black males from dropping out of high school and deterring them from pursuing degrees in
higher education. At the same time, I would like my research interest to focus on African American
males in the south, but I would like my scope to focus on mentoring relationships between black men;
both structured and unstructured. The Schott Foundations Report (2008) on public education does a
great job spelling out the educational inequities in graduation rates and achievement gaps impacting
African American males in the United States, particularly in the south. The Schott Foundation on

Why Did The Viggoth Invade The Greeks
The Visigoths were a part of the german barbaric tribe the Goths. They were settled in the western part
of Germany near the black sea, this was their original origin. Their enemy were The Huns, a barbaric
group from modern day central Asia. This is important information because The Huns were the reason
why the Visigoths went to Rome. The Huns had started to invade and The Visigoths asked roman
emperor Valen for shelter. The Romans were happy with having them there and they wanted them to
assimilate to Roman culture. They ended up settling in an area near Danube. By 376 CE. The

After the Valens death the new emperor Theodosius tried to create peace between the Romans and the

Visigoth governors. Alaric I took Visigothic forces into Greece to begin and take over. After he was

Solar Power Appliances
Introduction
Founded in 1987 by a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Stanford, the SunPower
Company has lived to beat adversities and emerged as a formidable force to reckon with in the
provision of solar energy in the past few decades. Markedly, Dr. Richard Swanson acted on a market
gap and spearheaded the company s establishment from a research and development corporation to a
fully fledged production firm that produces and sells solar panels globally. Owing to worldwide
warming and climate change, there have been entrants in the same line of business that compete with
SunPower. As a result, a reduction in the company s market share occurred over the past decades.

company faces stiff competition from the Asian and Middle East countries. Some of its main
competitors include Sharp Solar, who is the chief competitor, Q cells, REC Cells, First cells, and Sun

Daksha in Final Solutions is considered as a symbol of Daksha s historical vision.Dattani in an

Daksha through the device of her diary she begins a dialogue with the audience and that is offered to
Daksha because she can make fun of her in laws, she could talk very honestly about her feelings,
about her friendship with the Muslim girl etc. directly to the audience and that space is denied to her
with the other members of her household including her husband and these are memories that she has

Rashmi remarks on the play Where there s is a Will , Traces of symbolism can be found in the play,

The Charge Of The Light Brigade Poem
Imagine charging into a battle where the odds of winning are close to none. Now imagine charging
forward where the enemy is attacking from three sides. This was the reality for a certain British
Brigade during the Crimean War in 1854. In his 1854 poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade, Alfred,
Lord Tennyson describes the Battle of Balaclava where the British ride into their untimely death.
Tennyson ends the poem with a significant few lines that read, Honor the charge they made/Honor the
light Brigade/Noble six hundred. (Lines 53 55). By looking at the last lines Tennyson writes in his
poem, one is able to realize the significance of the Charge of the Light Brigade, and how these lines
add to the glorification of war and honor theme seen throughout the poem. The Light Brigade was a
unit of British men who misinterpreted the orders given to them by the commander in chief of the
British army during the Crimean war. In the result of this misinterpretation, the Light Brigade charged
into heavy Russian artillery where they were attacked from three sides (Greenspan). Tennyson
describes this scene in his poem when he states, Cannon to the right of them/Cannon to the left of
them/Cannon in front of them, (Lines 18 20). The British cavalry was slaughtered as they headed
down into what is known as The Valley of Death (Greenspan). According to the poem, there were six
hundred men who fought in this charge. By stating that they were noble, Tennyson believes these men
to be of

Sonny s Blues By James Baldwin Essay
Sonny s Blues is a narration about two siblings brothers who choose very different routes in life in
order to accomplish the zenith of individualism, expressionism and recognition. In doing so, they take
a glimpse into one another s spheres and learn to assent and appreciate each other for who they are. In
1951, Baldwin wrote Sonny s Blues, a story of the ills that Harlem provided its youth. In Baldwin s
telling of the narration, it forms a nous of liberation, an atmosphere of therapeutic acceptance for the
author, in which Baldwin develops to express his own state through his virtuoso of storytelling. To put
it inanely, Baldwin has such a fine grasp of the linguistic and such great urge to interpret that he can
move even his stoutest detractors to emotion and response.
Walter Dean Myers (2014), a famous New York Times journalist wrote that ...I read a story by James
Baldwin: Sonny s Blues. I didn t love the story, but I was lifted by it, for it took place in Harlem, and it
was a story concerned with black people like those I knew. By humanizing the people who were like
me, Baldwin s story also humanized me. The story gave me a permission that I didn t know I needed,
the permission to write about my own landscape, my own map. It broods a similar contentment in the
reader that the reader s conscience is questioned by the exposé of the veracity of the characters
quandary and epiphany and thus, a deep level of appreciative ness of the American Negro s struggle is

Lolita Pedophile
How do people set up the border between affection and illness? As metaphorically as it may seem,
although people now have clearer understanding of the importance when it comes to mental health,
some of the common conceptual illness such as pedophilia still haunts the society with the confusion
between one s freedom of choice and a disease that can be cured or eased. To grasp the controversy
and the impact of psychology and the society, Lolita is an essential piece of literature that
demonstrates the real life application of an example in mental illness and how the society characterize
the patients that affects the group as a whole. From Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, the theme of mental
illness and social values is introduced in three main aspects: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The American Psychiatric Association has confirmed the latest corrected information: The new
manual specifies that in order for an atypical sexual behavior to be classified as a mental condition, a
person must: 1. Feel personal distress about their interest, not merely distress resulting from society s
disapproval; or 2. have a sexual desire or behavior that involves another person s psychological
distress... for sexual behaviors involving unwilling persons or persons unable to give legal consent.
(Stuart) In other words, as long as one does not violate others right and does not involves in unwilling
sexual relationship, one should not be considered as a pedophile but a person who has a preferable
sexual orientation. Because this concept released in 2013 has not been widely realized in the society,
the unclear information confuses people with the seemingly abstruse fantasy. In the story Lolita, the
same issue is also being debated: On one hand, the society is aware of the potential crime with
pedophilia and yet regard the hidden danger of mental illness in every individual like Humbert; On the
other hand, people with a particular disapproving sexual orientation is thought to be the scapegoat of
rapists and abusers. This eventually leads the novel to become a controversial work, Is he[Humbert] in
love or insane?

Central State University s Theatre Production Performed...
Metropolitan State University s Theatre Production performed, God s Country. This play was written
by Steven Dietz in 1988. It revolved around a white supremacist group called The Order. This group
was led by Robert Jay Matthews and during the presence of The Order, Matthews organized the
members to perform various illegal acts to earn money for the groups cause. The illegal acts led to a
court trial that occurs during the play because The Order, was being prosecuted for the assassination of
radio host, Alan Berg. During MSU Denver s production of God s Country, the elements of the play
that stood out the most were: the success of one particular character, growing to dislike a character,
and the small amount of props that were used.
On opening night of God s Country, produced by Metropolitan s Theatre, one character seemed to be
more successful than any of the other characters and that was the boy. The boy in this production was
portrayed by a girl, but gave an outstanding and very believable performance. At the beginning of the
play there was a scene where all the kids were playing recess games, but the boy was so much more
believable in this scene than any of the other characters. This girl was dressed like a boy, no makeup,
and her movements were so well performed to distinguish her true self from the boy in which she
played. It was so believable that for awhile, you were not quite sure if this actress was either a younger
boy or a student at MSU Denver.

Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is the therapy that involves animals in the process of healing. Many
animals can be used to improve the mental and physical health, the most interesting form of AAT is
dolphin assisted therapy. The goal of dolphin therapy is to improve speech, motor skills, behavior and
sensory activity, ( Dolphin ). In dolphin therapy, children and dolphins interact with touch and sound,
playing and completing tasks that encourage stimulation to the child s specific needs. Examples of
disabilities improved with dolphin therapy are Autism, Down s Syndrome, ADHD, Chronic Pain, and

most kids his age. He has lived in some very harsh conditions, and still only manages to put others

them being together is the only thing that allows the to remain hopeful through their journey. And that

Peter Singer What We Eat Argument
In the Ethics of What We Eat, Peter Singer, expert in Applied Philosophy and Bioethics, addresses
controversy head on by unraveling public misconception about meat consumption, bringing critical
attention to how the animals are treated before they are killed, as conscious beings that share the
planet with us. He points to the grocery store and the meat aisle where animal meats are purchased
that give imagery of spacious ranches and animals grazing on grass peacefully in lush pastures. In
fact, this is not the case at all. The lives the animals lead prior to being butchered are brutal, tortured
existences, of unimaginable grief, that no living being capable of conscious thought on any level, great
or small, should ever endure. Singer illustrates, that meat manufacturers don t want the public to know
this is the case, spending more than 11 billion dollars per year in deceptive advertisement, to convince
the public otherwise, obscuring the horrible truth. This selfish, greedy advertising leads Americans to
follow the Standard American Diet (SAD), characterized by high consumption of animal based
products, like meat, eggs, and dairy, high in fat and excess protein, consumed in larger than needed
portions, more often than needed, paving the way to heart disease, high blood pressure, low energy,
and unhealthy living, while meat producers rake in revenue. Singer asks his audience to reconsider the
foods they eat, providing valuable insight into why they eat these foods, and

anything to gain and everything to lose. Kino s boat has also been destroyed. His boat was a family
heirloom and his job, so losing his boat shows how Kino has completely lost his identity. Readers can
also infer that when Kino killed the trackers, it demonstrated how desperate Kino and Juana are. They
were forced to kill three men to keep the freedom they always took for granted. Coyotito s death was
the last straw. At that point, Kino and Juana lost any hope in selling the pearl and creating a better life
for themselves. Their lives were completely

What Is The Juxtaposition Of Light And Dark
Dark and light, good and evil, joy and sadness, real and imaginary: these are the ideas that iconic
Belgian painter René Magritte, and other surrealist artists like him, strived to arouse in the minds of
their viewers. Magritte s work features supernatural, often unsettling images which play with the
imagination and confuse the mind. As part of the surrealist movement, Magritte s purpose behind his
paintings was to intrigue people, make them think about the subconscious mind, and to blur the lines
between reality and dreams. In his famous painting, L Empire des lumières, or The Empire of Light, a
bright, blue, daytime sky full of white clouds appears over a darkened street, a lonely house, and a
thick cover of trees, all shown to be under the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The juxtaposition of light and dark in The Empire of Light may represent the contrast of everyday
elements and ideas present in the world around us. As explained by Michael Glover, night and day are
present simultaneously. This is unnerving, the simultaneity of daylight and darkness. It disturbs us
visually and morally. Can light co habit with darkness, good with evil? Well, yes, man is such a
patchwork creature of light and dark, the will to do good, the propensity to choose evil (Glover, para.
3). At first the main effect this painting has on the observer is confusion; night and day cannot exist
together in the same place at the same time, after all. After observing it in more detail, though, many
symbols and themes begin to arise. Considering the contrast between light values used, the day and
night in this image could represent the cliché symbols of good and evil, or joy and sadness,
respectively. Just as both times of day are present in this painting, so are these emotions and traits
present in everyday life; they exist always and everywhere. By analyzing not only the painting itself,
but the title as well, this theme becomes more apparent. Several versions of its title exist due to
translation issues, and many refer to this piece as The Dominion of Light instead. This could mean
that the light portrayed in this painting is dominating the darkness, because of its placement above the
shadow, and, in fact, it is showing the dominion of light over darkness or purity over corruption. This
piece shows the power that good has over evil, or that joy has over sadness, while portraying both of
the latter as an impenetrable veil of darkness and the former as the bright clarity of the sky. The use of
light sources and contrast between value in The Empire of Light contributes to this theme of light and
dark, purity and wickedness, or joy and sadness. This interpretation also

Questions For The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls
1. Fire is a major theme in The Glass Castle. Jeannette becomes very fascinated by fire which
continues throughout the novel. The first you hear of fire is when Jeannette is burned while cooking
hotdogs at the age of three. Though she suffers extreme injuries, Jeannette becomes extremely
fascinated by fire. In the novel, she cannot keep herself from playing with it and watching it. In The
Glass Castle there are a number of other fires that burn houses, sheds, and injure other people like
Jeannette. The theme of fire can relate to chaos between family and other people mentioned in this
book.
2. Jeannette always admired her parents despite the way that they chose to live. Even though both
parents were both intelligently capable, they chose to live homeless. They both chose their own
welfare over their children. With parents like hers, Jeannette took what good she could from her ...

Jeannette Walls starts her story explaining why she wrote it. A main concern was to no longer hide her
past. She had never shared her story before because she was ashamed of her life. Jeannette begins the
story by sharing what gave her the courage to write it down.
9. Rose Mary Walls acts as a person who focuses on herself only. In the novel, she loses or quits her
jobs to peruse a career as an artist. In doing this, the family is not making money. Due to her actions,
Rose Mary Walls is adding to the poverty of the Walls family. At times, she acts more like a child then
a mother. You catch Mrs. Walls throwing tantrums, skipping work, etc.
10. Rex Walls tends to make up fascinating explanations and stories to keep his children from thinking
they are lesser then others based on how much money they have. As children, they were given stars as
gifts instead of material items. The children found the stories interesting and entertaining. As the Walls
children grow older, Rex s stories start to be used to cover his bad behaviors, instead of him using
them to shield his children from

Essay on Chicano Art
Chicano Art
Chicano Art and Indigenismo
Artworks have played an indelible work to the lives of humanity. The creative nature in Artists is a
complex matter to define. The uncertainties in the intrinsic nature in art lay difficult aspects that can
only be answered by values, themes and skills depicted in an artist artwork. Apart from playing the
intricate psychological effect on humans, the artworks have been used as a tool of expression that has
been revered and uniquely preserved for future generation. Among some of the most revered modern
forms of artwork has included Chicano Art that had a core relationship to Las Carpas, Indigenismo,
rascuachismo and other forms of performance art.
Indigenismo or Indianism was a political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The artwork fuses on the interest to the abstraction of the Tarascan symbology by painting a pre
Columbian totem that emerged from the background of flat planes. The painting which is oil on
canvas and forty by thirty carefully blends the colors that show a perfect depiction of the Jean trying
to link to his distant past by borrowing designs and ideas from the ancient cultures that existed in
Mexico.

Three Goals of Chicano Art
The Chicano art movement rose during the civil rights era was based on three goals that included
restoral of land, education reforms rights for farm workers. The three goals followed by the Chicano
Art artists had long been coming. One of the first goals included rights for farm workers. Arguably, the
Mexicans Americans fight to secure unionization for the farm workers was one of the key goals of the
Chicano art. In order to Sway the grape farmers, Cesar Chavez launched a national boycott that aimed

Punk Subculture Research Paper
The punk subculture, which centres on punk rock music, includes a diverse array of ideologies,
fashions and forms of expression, including visual art, dance, literature and film. The subculture is
largely characterized by anti establishment views and the promotion of individual freedom. The punk
subculture is centered on a loud, aggressive genre of rock music called punk rock. It is usually played
by small bands consisting of a vocalist, one or two electric guitarists, an electric bassist, and a
drummer.
Although punks are frequently categorised as having left wing or progressive views, punk politics
cover the entire political spectrum. Punk related ideologies are mostly concerned with individual
freedom and anti establishment views. Common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect, such as T shirts, leather jackets
(which are often decorated with painted band logos, pins and buttons, and metal studs or spikes), and
footwear such as Converse sneakers, skate shoes, brothel creepers, or Dr. Martens boots. Hardcore
punk fans adopted a dressed down style of T shirts, jeans, combat boots or sneakers and crewcut style
haircuts. Women in the hardcore scene typically wore army pants, band T shirts, and hooded
sweatshirts.[1]
One part of punk was creating explicitly outward identities of sexuality. Everything that was normally
supposed to be hidden was brought to the front, both literally and figuratively.
Punk aesthetics determine the type of art punks enjoy, usually with underground, minimalistic,
iconoclastic and satirical sensibilities. Punk artwork graces album covers, flyers for concerts, and
punk zines. Punk has generated a considerable amount of poetry and prose. Punk has its own
underground press in the form of punk zines, which feature news, gossip, cultural criticism, and
interviews. Some zines take the form of perzines. Important punk zines include Maximum RocknRoll,
Punk Planet, No Cure, Cometbus, Flipside, and Search Destroy . Many punk themed films have been
made, as have punk rock music videos and punk oriented skateboarding videos. Some punk films

Policy versus practice:
Understanding the relationship between human resource management and organizational outcomes is
one of the long standing goals of macro human resources management research. Kaifeng Jiang et al
2011
With rapid change in the economic environment managers and scholars have been motivated to seek
competitive advantages through new sources. The role of a skilled, motivated and flexible workforce
has become more prominent than traditional attributes such as technology, economies of scale or
natural resources. This is illustrated in the growth of Human Resource Management (HRM) literature,
which focuses on strategies to stimulate economic performance by sustaining and developing core
competencies within a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conversely Jessica Miller from the SHRM Blog suggests that the effectiveness of parental strategic
management is curtailed by its design limitations. The alignment of the policy or practice defines how
a convention fits within a workplace structure, therefore ineffective strategy is usually preceded by
poor structural fit rather than poor implementation. Miller infers that both good and bad parenting will
have reciprocal impacts on a workforce . Academic studies support these findings, Huselid (1997)
performed a cluster analysis of four firms with different HR strategies. The weak clusters were
characterised by poorly planned human capital goals that were irrelevant to the workplace. The high
performance clusters reflected smart design supported with effective communication and above
average levels of management support. The correlation of alignment and effectiveness of HR strategy
is consistent with the prior work of Gehart Milkovich (1992) that poor design is the underlying trait
for 75% of failed SHRM policies. Human capital measurement is an elusive concept (Becker, 2002)
and therefore empirical analysis has inherent inaccuracies. However both the anecdotal and empirical
findings both suggest parental strategic management has an immediate impact on the workforce. They
also cohesively support the concept that design, rather than implementation, is the

  • 3. The Importance Of The Second Amendment To The United... Do you know what function the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution actually serves? No, it is not so that people can go hunting or protect themselves against personal assault. Neither is it a stupid, brainless provision that some lamebrain slipped into the Constitution. Like a shield of freedom, it is one of the primary reasons that the United States Constitution still stands. As one who is not a gun owner, I treasure the Second Amendment. It is one of our best safeguards against tyranny, not from foreign governments, but from our own. This amendment reads, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The militia written of here is a volunteer army that basically provides its own weapons. That is, these are soldiers who are already armed, who already have their own guns. In The Federalist Papers, the authors wrote of concerns that a standing army could lead to tyranny (loss of freedom), so the Second Amendment was conceived in such a way that the U.S. could have an army at need, and would not have to have a large standing army. This was so that the national government would not threaten our freedom. (Trust me; it s in there.) There are historical examples of governments wanting to tighten their controls over the people, so they went out and disarmed the people (like the sword hunt in Japan), or made it illegal for them to own weapons (there are ... Maybe some people from Generation Z will fall apart without their devices, but others could care less about modern technology. One cannot address a generation and using the traits given to the age group, decide their capability in different scenarios. One thing that can be done, is understanding that everyone was made to have different skills for the exact purpose of being the yin to someone s yang. To fill the empty spaces others cannot. Whether any group of people is thought of as deadbeats or not, humans were made to succeed. I choose to believe that we are all capable of surviving with a group of other people and Generation Z is included in that. We are everything, from leaders to slackers. Due to this, many rivalries and tensions between borders occurred, with the inclusion of the public in addition to their powerful leaders. Nationalistic pride was launched in European countries for multiple different reasons, depending on the state of the country at the time. For example, Great Britain s views regarding nationalism was apparent in relation to the country s past of maintaining strength and prosperity through peaceful relations, while nationalism was clear in Germany as a symbol of future imperialism and overwhelming continental strength. Either way, strong feelings of nationalism allowed Europe s borders to become even more divided than usual, as a result of providing an outlet for national superiority and the encouraging antagonization of surroundings nations. • 7. Public Policies Are Culturally Driven Summary One of the problems areas we have talked about this semester centers on the actual definition of public policy. Why is public policy so difficult to define? According to Chapter 1 of our text, political scientists have continually addressed the problem without reaching a consensus. The term public policy always refers to the actions of government and the intentions that determine those actions. Making policy requires choosing among goals and alternatives, and choice always involves intention. Since political agendas change frequently and the rational actors also change, it is easy to see why a consensus is not commonly attained. Morgenthau stated, To understand policy one must first understand the complexity. Braybrooke prescribes policy as a combination of incrementalism and utilitarianism. This combination provides the complexity through its rich fullness. Incrementalism allows the continuation of sequences to describe the problem trends so that through his unique combination with utilitarianism he achieves the agent that will take responsibility for the problem; hence providing a possible description of the method to create the policy. DATE PERFORMED: JULY 20, 2007 SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF EQUILIBRIUM CONSTANT FOR A REACTION ABSTRACT UV VIS spectrophotometry is one of the most widely used methods for determining and identifying many inorganic species. During this experiment, this spectrophotometry was used to determine the equilibrium constant, Keq, of the Fe3+(aq)+SCN (aq)↔ FeSCN2+(aq) reaction. By determining the amount of light absorbed, the concentration of the colored FeSCN2+ solution was also quantitatively determined. From that data, the concentrations of the reagents at equilibrium may also be determined. We set the wavelength of the spectrophotometer to 447 nm so we could achieve maximum sensitivity. At this point, the change in absorbance per unit of concentration is greatest and there is greater adherence to Beer s Law. Table I. • 14. Apocalypse Now By Francis Ford Coppola In Francis Ford Coppola s, Apocalypse Now (1979), you follow the journey of Captain Benjamin L. Willard, as he makes his way up the Nung River on a US Navy patrol boat in Vietnam to assassinate Colonel Walter Kurtz. Coppola s film reflects the Vietnam war and all the horrors seen and unseen associated with it. Specifically, the dissent into madness and the dehumanizing effects of war. Coppola uses the river to symbolize this dissent into madness. The further up the river the crew got, the more dehumanized they became. Even Coppola s choice of title Apocalypse Now screams what this movie is about. This symbolism accompanied by perfectly paired music and camera angles that often cast shadows strongly show the madness of war. Coppola expresses the decline into insanity in stages. In this first stage, there is still have plenty of light and very few shadows. This stage represents the dehumanization of the enemy and it is where we first meet Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore. Coppola perfectly pairs the song Ride of The Valkyries with a scene of Kilgore flying in with helicopters and tearing up a village. As the song plays, we can see an uneven match between the Americans and the natives. Just like a Valkyrie, Kilgore is seen as a decider of who lives and who dies. Because improper disposal of our wastes imposes cost on others, waste disposal has been a big political issue. Dirty disposal methods such as dumping are big problems nowadays. Waste disposal was not always observed and monitored properly; therefore, everyone must comply with the methods used in order to achieve environmental advantages. In 1993, films required specific animation processes, but during that time frame, it was fairly easy to spot the lack of realism. Comparing Emerson And Ralph Waldo Emerson Ralph Waldo Emerson says There is a time in every man s education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide. This quote is immensely true you should always be true to yourself and you shouldn t envy people you don t really know that much about. You should stay true to yourself because if you want to imitate someone who are killing yourself figuratively. How is your inner self alive if you don t display it no one knows who you really are so your soul is dead to others. They would just see that you are like everyone else or like someone else in particular and then you will be compared to the other person which isn t what people usually want. If someone were to compare you to someone and you are just off there in the corner hearing this and they are saying blah blah he s/she s exactly like so and so and you are just like no I m me , but you have no proof because what they are saying is true. Your inner self would never be known to people if you like to hide away and just do what it is popular they we ll see you as just no one special and everyone wants to have something different about them that s what makes people awesome there is not two of the same exact people, so why would you want to strive to be exactly like another person. ... Carroll 3 Kaylee Carroll Mrs. Carroll English 4 10 November 2016 Prostitution Casual sex for currency has been a major part of history that many upstanding citizens frown upon or overlook completely. ?Wherever we find evidence of human culture, we find evidence of prostitution.? (Fanni) Prostitution may in fact be the world?s oldest profession; as early as the third millennium B.C. In ancient times, prostitution was a way of worshipping and honoring the gods. The first major civilization, Mesopotamia, honored the goddess Ishtar with money earned from prostitution. The goddess Ishtar was a reflection of the planet Venus, and was reborn in the morning only to become a ?whore? at night. Ancient civilizations treated prostitution with little hypocrisy and an open mind. ?Prostitutes were regarded as little more than objects to be paid a handful of coins they were also seen as a public necessity.? Today prostitution could be more than it has ever been due to new medications and means of protection, precautions are known and can be taken to make this job safer than it has ever been, ultimately giving unemployed men and women who are interested a chance; currency for sex has always been the way of mankind and will continue to be a part of mankind throughout the future. The obvious similarity the paintings share is subject matter. They both depict a couple participating in a wedding ceremony. Another similarity between both works is the depiction of witnesses to the marriage. In van Eyck s work, the witnesses s reflections can be seen in the mirror in the background of the painting. The Aztec Marriage Couple shows the witnesses more clearly as the ones surrounding the couple getting married. In my opinion, these relationships can have a profound impact on a student s ability to persist towards graduating from college. Though my research, I want to hear the experiences of Black males who have benefited from successful mentoring relationships with other Black men. As a mentor, I believe that establishing a strong mentoring relationship with Black males at a young age can greatly improve their chance of academic success. Furthermore, I believe that mentoring is a strong early intervention mechanism to prevent Black males from dropping out of high school and deterring them from pursuing degrees in higher education. At the same time, I would like my research interest to focus on African American males in the south, but I would like my scope to focus on mentoring relationships between black men; both structured and unstructured. This was the reality for a certain British Brigade during the Crimean War in 1854. In his 1854 poem, The Charge of the Light Brigade, Alfred, Lord Tennyson describes the Battle of Balaclava where the British ride into their untimely death. Tennyson ends the poem with a significant few lines that read, Honor the charge they made/Honor the light Brigade/Noble six hundred. (Lines 53 55). By looking at the last lines Tennyson writes in his poem, one is able to realize the significance of the Charge of the Light Brigade, and how these lines add to the glorification of war and honor theme seen throughout the poem. The Light Brigade was a unit of British men who misinterpreted the orders given to them by the commander in chief of the British army during the Crimean war. In the result of this misinterpretation, the Light Brigade charged into heavy Russian artillery where they were attacked from three sides (Greenspan). Tennyson describes this scene in his poem when he states, Cannon to the right of them/Cannon to the left of them/Cannon in front of them, (Lines 18 20). In 1951, Baldwin wrote Sonny s Blues, a story of the ills that Harlem provided its youth. In Baldwin s telling of the narration, it forms a nous of liberation, an atmosphere of therapeutic acceptance for the author, in which Baldwin develops to express his own state through his virtuoso of storytelling. As metaphorically as it may seem, although people now have clearer understanding of the importance when it comes to mental health, some of the common conceptual illness such as pedophilia still haunts the society with the confusion between one s freedom of choice and a disease that can be cured or eased. To grasp the controversy and the impact of psychology and the society, Lolita is an essential piece of literature that demonstrates the real life application of an example in mental illness and how the society characterize the patients that affects the group as a whole. Because this concept released in 2013 has not been widely realized in the society, the unclear information confuses people with the seemingly abstruse fantasy. Peter Singer What We Eat Argument In the Ethics of What We Eat, Peter Singer, expert in Applied Philosophy and Bioethics, addresses controversy head on by unraveling public misconception about meat consumption, bringing critical attention to how the animals are treated before they are killed, as conscious beings that share the planet with us. He points to the grocery store and the meat aisle where animal meats are purchased that give imagery of spacious ranches and animals grazing on grass peacefully in lush pastures. In fact, this is not the case at all. The lives the animals lead prior to being butchered are brutal, tortured existences, of unimaginable grief, that no living being capable of conscious thought on any level, great or small, should ever endure. Singer illustrates, that meat manufacturers don t want the public to know this is the case, spending more than 11 billion dollars per year in deceptive advertisement, to convince the public otherwise, obscuring the horrible truth. This selfish, greedy advertising leads Americans to follow the Standard American Diet (SAD), characterized by high consumption of animal based products, like meat, eggs, and dairy, high in fat and excess protein, consumed in larger than needed portions, more often than needed, paving the way to heart disease, high blood pressure, low energy, and unhealthy living, while meat producers rake in revenue. What Is The Juxtaposition Of Light And Dark Dark and light, good and evil, joy and sadness, real and imaginary: these are the ideas that iconic Belgian painter René Magritte, and other surrealist artists like him, strived to arouse in the minds of their viewers. Magritte s work features supernatural, often unsettling images which play with the imagination and confuse the mind. As part of the surrealist movement, Magritte s purpose behind his paintings was to intrigue people, make them think about the subconscious mind, and to blur the lines between reality and dreams. In his famous painting, L Empire des lumières, or The Empire of Light, a bright, blue, daytime sky full of white clouds appears over a darkened street, a lonely house, and a thick cover of trees, all shown to be under the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The juxtaposition of light and dark in The Empire of Light may represent the contrast of everyday elements and ideas present in the world around us. As explained by Michael Glover, night and day are present simultaneously. This is unnerving, the simultaneity of daylight and darkness. It disturbs us visually and morally. Can light co habit with darkness, good with evil? Well, yes, man is such a patchwork creature of light and dark, the will to do good, the propensity to choose evil (Glover, para. 3). At first the main effect this painting has on the observer is confusion; night and day cannot exist together in the same place at the same time, after all. After observing it in more detail, though, many symbols and themes begin to arise. Considering the contrast between light values used, the day and night in this image could represent the cliché symbols of good and evil, or joy and sadness, respectively. Just as both times of day are present in this painting, so are these emotions and traits present in everyday life; they exist always and everywhere. By analyzing not only the painting itself, but the title as well, this theme becomes more apparent. Several versions of its title exist due to translation issues, and many refer to this piece as The Dominion of Light instead. This could mean that the light portrayed in this painting is dominating the darkness, because of its placement above the shadow, and, in fact, it is showing the dominion of light over darkness or purity over corruption. This piece shows the power that good has over evil, or that joy has over sadness, while portraying both of the latter as an impenetrable veil of darkness and the former as the bright clarity of the sky. The use of light sources and contrast between value in The Empire of Light contributes to this theme of light and dark, purity and wickedness, or joy and sadness. This interpretation also ... Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect, such as T shirts, leather jackets (which are often decorated with painted band logos, pins and buttons, and metal studs or spikes), and footwear such as Converse sneakers, skate shoes, brothel creepers, or Dr. Martens boots. Hardcore punk fans adopted a dressed down style of T shirts, jeans, combat boots or sneakers and crewcut style haircuts. Women in the hardcore scene typically wore army pants, band T shirts, and hooded sweatshirts.[1] One part of punk was creating explicitly outward identities of sexuality. • 43. Literature Review of Human Resource Management, theory... Policy versus practice: Understanding the relationship between human resource management and organizational outcomes is one of the long standing goals of macro human resources management research. Kaifeng Jiang et al 2011 With rapid change in the economic environment managers and scholars have been motivated to seek competitive advantages through new sources. The role of a skilled, motivated and flexible workforce has become more prominent than traditional attributes such as technology, economies of scale or natural resources. This is illustrated in the growth of Human Resource Management (HRM) literature, which focuses on strategies to stimulate economic performance by sustaining and developing core competencies within a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conversely Jessica Miller from the SHRM Blog suggests that the effectiveness of parental strategic management is curtailed by its design limitations. The alignment of the policy or practice defines how a convention fits within a workplace structure, therefore ineffective strategy is usually preceded by poor structural fit rather than poor implementation. Miller infers that both good and bad parenting will have reciprocal impacts on a workforce . Academic studies support these findings, Huselid (1997) performed a cluster analysis of four firms with different HR strategies. The weak clusters were characterised by poorly planned human capital goals that were irrelevant to the workplace. The high performance clusters reflected smart design supported with effective communication and above average levels of management support. The correlation of alignment and effectiveness of HR strategy is consistent with the prior work of Gehart Milkovich (1992) that poor design is the underlying trait for 75% of failed SHRM policies. Human capital measurement is an elusive concept (Becker, 2002) and therefore empirical analysis has inherent inaccuracies. However both the anecdotal and empirical findings both suggest parental strategic management has an immediate impact on the workforce. They also cohesively support the concept that design, rather than implementation, is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
