The Role Of The Oil Boom
Architecture of a city reflects its way of living and provides insights into the city s creation and
development of how it looks today. Abu Dhabi in the present day is a modern city with tall
skyscrapers and wide grid pattern roads. Being the capital of United Arab Emirates, it is the country s
center of political and industrial activities. As a former desert strip, Abu Dhabi is now known for its
greenery and a prosperous city because of its revenues from oil, technology and tourism. In this essay,
I will be discussing about how the role of the oil boom played a part in the development in the city s
architecture and whether it has encouraged the economic modernization. Has it lost its traditional
heritage by undergoing a marked change into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The traditional architecture of the city is resulted in these three factors, the economy, the climate, and
the people s lifestyle.
Back in the day, the population of UAE is very unevenly distributed; there is a dense amount of people
living in Abu Dhabi due to its abundance of water and palm trees. The construction of forts and
citadels were very popular during that era. While forts were being used accommodation, citadels were
commonly used as a defensive structure used in more urban or densely populated areas and was
associated specifically with a powerful leader. The lower classes lived in houses built with perishable
materials such as palm frond and woven palm mat while the higher classes lived in stone, mud brick
and coral houses built by professional builders. [1]
Figure 1 shows a typical house in a village built using woven palm mats, mostly inhabited by lower
class families [2]
Another factor that affected the traditional architecture of Abu Dhabi was the climate. Because of its
arid climate, one of the solutions was to build wind towers, which is a concave V shape to deflect
wind down to cool the spaces below it. Buildings were also built close to each other, with narrow
alleys between them, called the sikkas. These rely on the northern winds to flow freely and into spaces
to ensure ventilation. These two systems would work together, the wind tower catching

What Is The Similarities Between 1984 And V For Vendetta
Coincidentally the name of the gin Winston drinks and cigarette he takes both have the word
VICTORY in it. The gin was named VICTORY GIN and the cigarette was named VICTORY
CIGARETTE . The word VICTORY exemplifies that the government claimed their victory over the
city by including the word victory in every product that was sold. Overwhelming desire to possess it
implies that Winston a huge desire to have the diary as he had never had one before. However, the

Convincing, cruel and constraint were the governments as both the governments controlled people,
depleted all freedom form the people, had strict laws, compelling propagandas, secret police and fear.
Both governments kept numerous numbers of secrets from the citizens and also there were rebellious
characters present that stood up for their country and rebelled against the government. The antagonist
in the book 1984 and the movie V for vendetta were the government. Both the book and movie are
cautionary tales that warns the readers against the hazards totalitarianism can cause. However there
are some differences present between V for Vendetta and 1984. Firstly V for Vendetta receives their
freedom much easier and quicker as the people aren t afraid to go against the government. Whereas in
1984 their freedom takes longer as people are afraid to confront the government. Secondly, 1984
manifests a sad, sensitive and gloomy future in comparative to V for Vendetta. Thirdly, V for Vendetta
controls people s actions and 1984 controls people s thoughts and emotions. Fourthly, 1984 uses
surveillance systems to keep an eye on the people however, V for Vendetta lacks surveillance systems.
Fifthly, V for Vendetta beseeches spirituality in the propagandas where as 1984 uses propagandas in
way in which they feel like they are being watched. Finally both governments have

Oncology Personal Statement
From scoring my first lab coat at age five to winning a science fair contest at age nine to assessing the
ecological health of the Bronx River at age sixteen, the sciences have always been my place to shine.
In the past few years, I have grown particularly attracted to biomedical science because of its
combination of both life science and humanism. My budding interest in pathology and clinical
applications of science, as I discovered in my internship with Bronx Westchester Area Health
Education Center, has me to discover oncology. I am interested in becoming a cancer researcher, so I
can perform innovative translational research that may assist cancer patients.
Cancer research captivates me, because it is both a rewarding and challenging field.

Meteorology Essay
Part one: Explain the difference between Climate, Weather and Meteorology.
Despite the fact that weather, climate and meteorology are correlated; all three topics differ from each
other. With this out of the way, meteorology is defined as the study of both the atmosphere s climate
and weather. The main difference in between climate and weather is that they are determined by time;
meaning that weather is known as the conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time, while
climate is the average conditions recorded of the atmosphere s weather over a long period of time.
For instance, when we talk about climate change we are talking about how the atmosphere s average
behavior has changed over time based on the current weather. Weather is reported daily through
current measured aspects of the atmosphere like temperature, wind speed and direction, dew point,
pressure and precipitation. Over time, these daily weather variables help meteorologists determine the
climate for the given region they are analyzing. By determining the climate of the region,
meteorologists are able to roughly predict the weather for the future.
In summary, with the help of science and technology, meteorologists are able to accurately predict
what the weather of a region will be for the next few days. While, knowing the climate of the given
region, they are able to make rough predictions on what the

The Revolution Of Rio De Janeiro
Introduction In 1565, the Portuguese discovered São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, and was named after
St. Sebastian, who was the namesake and patron of the Portuguese Monarch D. Sebastião. In the late
1600s, the Bandeirantes, fortune hunters, discovered gold and diamonds nearly Rio de Janeiro.
Therefore, the city became more convenient for the Portuguese exportations. During 1800s, many
Portuguese fled to Rio in order to escape Napoleon s invasion of Portugal. There were hundreds of
noblemen who were simply homeless because of their sudden arrival in the city. Also, during the exile
of numerous Portuguese men into the city, an influx of 145,000 of African slaves arrived in the capital
of Rio. By the year of 1840, the rate of African slavery increased up to 220,000 people. In 1822,
Prince Pedro declared the independence of Brazil, and kept Rio de Janeiro as the country s capital.
Early in the 1900s, the centre of the city was developing; the first tunnel in the capital was built under
the mountains of Botafogo and Copacanaba, and electric streetcars travelled from north to south of the
urban. At the same time, the population of Rio was growing, and the amount of landscapes were
getting limited, therefore the city started to shift from north to south. Between 1960 and 1975, Rio de
Janeiro was removed as the capital of the country for some political reasons, and became one of Rio
de Janeiro s states. Nowadays, Rio de Janeiro is the second most populous city of Brazil, and the

Life In The Trenches Narrative Report
1. Just got to my trench. I m in the allied army, positioned on the western front. I can tell already this
isn t going to be much fun. 2. Life in this trench is not enjoyable. It is very boring. Occasionally, we
may see an aircraft fly by, but that is about it. 3. Some action has occurred. The enemy trench has tried
using gas against us. We managed to put on out masks in time, so none of us got injured. 4. The past
few days our trench has been shot at by a single enemy machine gun. As long as we keep out head
down we re safe. 5. Surprisingly little to no physical fighting has taken place. I expected to see tanks.
This is not what I imagined when I enrolled for the French military. 6. We know little about the
enemy. They are in trenches

Data Mining Information
1 Define data mining. Why are there many different names and definitions for data mining?
Data mining is the process through which previously unknown patterns in data were discovered.
Another definition would be a process that uses statistical, mathematical, artificial intelligence, and
machine learning techniques to extract and identify useful information and subsequent knowledge
from large databases. This includes most types of automated data analysis. A third definition: Data
mining is the process of finding mathematical patterns from (usually) large sets of data; these can be
rules, affinities, correlations, trends, or prediction models.
Data mining has many definitions because it s been stretched beyond those limits by some ... Show

Whereas prediction is largely experience and opinion based, forecasting is data and model based. That
is, in order of increasing reliability, one might list the relevant terms as guessing, predicting, and
forecasting, respectively. In data mining terminology, prediction and forecasting are used
synonymously, and the term prediction is used as the common representation of the act.
Classification: analyzing the historical behavior of groups of entities with similar characteristics, to
predict the future behavior of a new entity from its similarity to those groups
Clustering: finding groups of entities with similar characteristics
Association: establishing relationships among items that occur together
Sequence discovery: finding time based associations
Visualization: presenting results obtained through one or more of the other methods
Regression: a statistical estimation technique based on fitting a curve defined by a mathematical
equation of known type but unknown parameters to existing data
Forecasting: estimating a future data value based on past data values.

New England, Southern, And The Middle Colonies
The three English colonies were known as: New England, Southern, and the Middle colonies. The
colonies developed because economic and political institutions in the colonies were either typically
European or distinctively American. Climate, soil conditions, and other natural resources shaped
regional economic development in all the colonies. New England colonies made big profits from
trade. The Middle Colonies had large cities and excellent harbors along the coasts. The merchants who
lived in these growing cities exported cash crops, especially grain, and imported manufactured goods.
Because of its enormous trade, Philadelphia was the fastest growing city throughout the colonies. The
Southern colonies grew into prosperous colonies that made large profits based on cash crops such as
tobacco, indigo dye, and rice. The Southern colonies were known for their high slave population and
highly irregular social class distribution. New England colonies were Maryland, Virginia, North
Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The climate in New England colonies was colder than the
other two colonies because they were the farthest north. The natural resources were more important
than agricultural crops to colonists in New England because of poor, rocky soil and the short growing
season. New England s natural resources included fish, whales, trees and furs. New England believed
religion and government were tied together. They set up a covenant community with the mayflower

Lord Of The Flies Identity Quotes
This mask depicts Jack s identity from the book Lord of the Flies. Starting from the bottom of the
mask, there is a quote from Jack which is one of the last things he says before leaving Ralph s group: I
m not going to play any longer. Not with you . This quote is significant to Jack because not only does
it show the end of the impact on Jack that the tamed and edified society Ralph has developed, it shows
how childish he is. Before Jack says this, he puts Ralph s conch on the grass in front of him and cries.
His tears are described as humiliating , which shows how he is unfit to be a good ruler because he is
leaving Ralph s civilization and crying about it because it is not run the way he wants to be run. He
proves to be a leader to the boys as they join him, but not one that is connected to civilization ... Show

Jack ideas connect to anarchy because he is the first person to openly speak out and take action against
the way that Ralph s civilization was run. To the left and right of the anarchy symbol are the words
The beast and Fear . These are symbolic to Jack and how he is able to keep power and influence on the
boys after he starts his own civilization. Jack uses the idea of the beast to make the boys blindly
follow him since he makes them believe that he has the power to hunt down and kill the beast, even
though there actually is no beast. Above the word The beast is the word Murder . This directly
references the murder of Simon that Jack is responsible for because he used the fear of the beast to
make the boys kill Simon, which Jack uses to take control of almost all the boys in the book as well.
To the right, the words The Bad Chief are shown to reference the evil that controls Jack when he leads
the boys. Those four words are positioned diagonally striped to reference the figurative mask that Jack
puts on when he paints his

A time where these laws were especially relevant was the period from 1890 1910 called the Black
Nadir. The Black Nadir was considered to be, the high point of institutionalized racism (Brown), in
which there were many unwritten laws to
preserve and reinforce white supremacy (Brown). Stetson Kennedy created a list of rules of which
were not formally created, but blacks were to abide by while speaking to whites. This list includes:
1. Never assert or even intimate that a white person is lying.
2. Never impute dishonorable intentions to a white person.
3. Never suggest that a white person is from an inferior class.
4. Never lay claim to, or overly demonstrate, superior knowledge or intelligence.
5. Never curse a white person.
6. Never laugh derisively at a white person.
7. Never comment upon the appearance of a white female (Pilgrim).
These rules were all considered common etiquette that all blacks were expected to follow. If a black
man were to violate the Jim Crow norms they jeopardized their homes, jobs, or even their lives
(Pilgrim). Moreover, whites were able to beat blacks with no repercussions for their actions.
Moreover, the entire Jim Crow criminal justice system was white. Whites truly had a white supremacy
ideal. Which was obvious by all the injustice happening. For example, if a black male offered even his
hand to a white woman, even if the white woman asked, he risked being accused of

The Other Wes Moore Plot Structure
The Other Wes Moore is written by Wes Moore himself. In the book The other Wes Moore there is
two black African American boys who share the same name but, ended up in different paths in life.
Both boys have absent fathers for their various reason and with mothers being the head of the
household. The purpose of the story is to illustrate how nurture is responsible for a individual success.
Author Wes Moore uses parallel plot structure, flashbacks, and diction to prove that nurture
determines an individual success.
The Other Wes Moore use parallel plot structure to display the similarities and differences between the
two Wes s in their environments. In the story, Wes explains why his mom decided to send him to

positive people in his life who push him past limits and they wanted to him be greater than what they

Effects Of Turbiridity Due On Land Use
1)Effects of turbiridity due to land use changes
Turbidity measures the amount of light scattered from a sample and more suspended particles causes
more scattering results in high turbidity.
Turbidity measurements are often used as indicator of water quality based on clarity and total
suspended solid particles. Turbidity doesn t include the dissolved solids which reduces the scattering.
In agricultural lands the receiving water is contaminated by nonpoint pollution due to different
agricultural activities like crop production, cattle operations, crop pattern and rangelands.
High rates of surface runoff and erosion of land covered by annual crops have high levels of turbidity
in receiving water specially in spring when vegetation cover is minimal.
Wetlands used in removal of bacterial contamination in rivers , act as biofilter which increases the
turbidity.
Turbidity is negatively related with the forested areas and positively with the annual crops and urban
land use.
Annual crops have more turbidity than the perennial crops.so the when annual crops are converted
into the forested areas perennial crops pastures cause 16.4% of turbidity.
It is studied that stabilization of urban land through reforestation practices increases in water quality
due to the high turbidity. Protection of water resources through land use policy is essential.
2)forest soils have high rate of infiltration
Infiltration is known as the movement of water in soil profile occure in

Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics Essay
In this essay, I will consider several popular theories discussed by well known philosophers that will
help me decide ethical dilemma. The situation is that one of my coworker has been using work place
resource to run personal side business. She tells me a convincing story of personal adversity and
struggling to get ahead, and ask to meet next day to talk about. About the same time, I receive and
email reminding all employees that the work place ethics code forbids using work place resources for
personal financial profit. To make ethically right decision in this ethical dilemma, I will focus on the
philosophers standpoint and reasoning of ethics of care, ethics of justice, utilitarian ethics and
universal principle to analyze the situation. In this tough situation, my conclusion is that I will not
report this action to the higher authority although she is violating work place ethics code. I will
provide my reasoning why I will not report this to the higher authority in this essay.
Before I make any decision and report this to higher authority, I will use ethics tests to construct an
effective decision. There are steps on making ethical decisions. First, the viral test, what happens if I
report this? Would this make a headline news? Would this news negatively impact the reputation of
the company? Even though her action is obliviously violating professional ethics, it is important to

Religion is supremacy, perfection and spirituality. A typical Latin
American religious community heavily relies on religion to provide a moral framework to guide and
protect its citizens. However, projecting religion in the light of perfection is superficial. In actuality, it
often contains flaws underneath its idealistic teachings. The inadequacy in maintaining the idealistic
doctrines is deeply rooted in society. Such notion is reflected and commented upon in the novels Dom

Religion as a burden is also evident in Chronicle of A Death Foretold in which the townspeople
honour the much disliked bishop solely out of respect to God. The bishop, on the other hand, sends
obligatory blessing without evincing a speck of inspiration as he makes the sign of cross
mechanically and without malice or inspiration (19). The townspeople greet the bishop in an
overwhelming manner, creating a strong contrast against the neglectful attitude of the bishop:
But the Bishop didn t stop and then the band of musicians started to play the bishop s anthem, and the
cocks began to crow in their baskets and aroused all the other roosters in town. (18) g
By staying on the boat, the bishop creates a physical distance that further advocates the barrier
between the people and the Church, and ultimately affects their religious devotions. These actions of
the bishop do not earn him respect as a person but only as an empty shell of authority, another defect
in the practical result of religious doctrines. Hence Placida Linero refers to him as the son of the worst
kind of mother (127).
Religion also becomes less a symbol of ultimate priority and spirituality amongst the younger
generation. Garcia Marquez discusses this notion using Santiago Nasar. Santiago engages religion
with entertainment rather than an inscrutable symbol of spiritual life:

The Effect of the Battle at Antietam Essay
The Effect of the Battle at Antietam The effects of the bloodiest battle in American military history
spread all over the world; however, the resulting Emancipation Proclamation, in particular, had an
enormous impact on Britain s decision to not recognize the Confederacy as a nation. During a low
point for the Union, the birth of this pivotal piece of anti slavery legislation from the Battle at
Antietam helped deter Britain from intervening. The Battle at Antietam and the resulting Proclamation
were colossal victories for the Union as they discouraged the intervention of the British, preventing
potential war between the United States and Great Britain. In 1862, during the time of the Battle at

Thus, doubt began to linger in the forefront of the minds of the British. Consequently, intervention
was delayed. Moreover, Lincoln s ideas about ending slavery caused Britain to hesitate (Brauer). Two
major reasons contributed to Britain seeking intervention as a result of the Battle at Antietam. First is
the fact that America practiced slavery. In a letter from Secretary of State William H. Seward to Henry
Adams 18 August 1862, Seward wrote, I cannot avoid thinking that the ideas of intervention and
mediation have their source in an imperfect conception in Europe of the independence of the
American Nation (Papers Relating to Foreign Affairs). It is important to remember that both Britain
and France were anti slavery at the time. Slavery was viewed as one of America s most noticeable
imperfections. Secondly, the cotton famine was severely affecting the British. When the Union
captured New Orleans, cotton flow to Britain was still not returned as promised by Seward.
Throughout the summer, pressure built for Britain and France to mediate a settlement, which would
mean Confederate independence. The Paris Constitutionnel reported in June 1862 that only British
intervention would end this bloody war (McPherson 57). In a letter from Henry Adams to Seward in
August 1862, Adams thought the cotton famine was shifting support towards the Confederacy in
Britain. Also, the government was not strong enough in Britain to force

Previously parents had only received tax free help if their employer managed the childcare facility.
The news came as the chancellor announced his twice yearly pre Budget report. This stated that the
government has capped financial support at £50 a week well below the typical cost of £128 a week for
a nursery place According to a recent survey, parents in the UK pay on average £6,650 a year for each
child.
Tax relief on £50 a week childcare spending could benefit millions of employees using registered
childcare. However, tax exemptions will only apply to spending on registered childcare. This stated
shows us how the government protects its people and not letting other people who come in the country
to take advantage of the economy. Many workers who rely on friends and relatives to look after their
children while they are at work will not benefit.
About one in ten employers provide some kind of childcare help to employees.
It is hoped that the tax break will encourage more firms to help out their workers and as a result has
received a warm welcome from childcare charities.

How Does Marjane Satrapi Use Animation In Persepolis
In the animation Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi uses color in the beginning of the animation during her
present day life and black and white for flashbacks or her past life. The majority of the animation is
the story of Marjane s life in the past so it is in mostly black and white. This is an interesting way of
using color because in a way color is used as a form of timeline, there are parts of the animation that
switch from present to past, so Satrapi just switches from black and white to color to show time
period. I find this concept very appealing and creative. are the growing tensions of the political
climate in Iran in the 70s and 80s, with members of her liberal leaning family detained and then
executed, and the background of the disastrous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marjane grew up in Iran during the Iran/Iraq war in the 1970s which creates a layer of complication in
her life due to living in a war zone. As a child there was protest going on against the Shah that was in
power at that time. Marjane as a child is a very lively child that is frustrated by the current events
being war and violence. By taking us through her life starting the flashback at childhood then though
teen years we are able to learn about a personal experience on being an Iranian woman during this
time. I did not know that women in Iran during the post war periods were treated so poorly by men in
authority, I also did not know that alcohol was a forbidden beverage. I learned a lot through this
animation by understanding what Marjane went through in her life. The content of Marjane s life as a
teenager was very entertaining to watch. Marjane went from being so restrained in Iran to smoking pot
at punk concerts in Europe. When an animator is honest in their work it is appealing and easy to
watch; which is how I felt about this animation. Satrapi did not hold back in language, emotion, and
details throughout the story of this

Nursing Reflection Paper
On Tuesday November 21st, I had my last rotation at Hartford Hospital. During the month I spent
going there I had the opportunity of treating patients with different systemic diseases, and getting
familiar with the different medications, assessing them for any possible emergency, and reassuring the
need to check vitals and medical history during each appointment. Also, it was a great place to
practice taking radiographs like FMXs, panoramic radiograph and VBWs. In addition, I had the
chance to see the work of dental hygienist in a hospital setting, and I have to say I liked it a lot. I wish
I could have the opportunity to work at a hospital as well. For the morning I saw a 73 years old how
suffers from Parkinson s disease, high blood pressure, and GERD. She came for her 3 month recall
visit and her vitals were BP: 147/67 P: 89. She is an ASA III, and she came with the help of her
daughter who brought and her husband who came to pick her up. During her gingival assessment I
found moderate plaque and BOP in the lingual aspects of mandibular and maxillary teeth. Patient
stated she uses a power toothbrush and does not floss or uses floss threaders to clean under a fixed
bridge she has on the UR quadrant. Her probing depth readings were generalized 1 3 mm and
localized 4 5 mm with generalized abrasion and recession from 2 4 mm. My patient A.D. represented
a challenge for me because during the debridement with the cavitron and the hand instruments she was

Comparing A Sorrowful Woman By Gail Godwin, And A Secret...
Children, Marriage and Love are the three main factors of the two short stories, A Sorrowful Woman
by Gail Godwin, and A Secret Sorrow by Karen van der Zee. Two relationships at risk because of
children. Neither of them know what to do but try to find solutions to solve their problems. They end
up having different outcomes.
In both stories both women face a major issue. In Godwin s story the main female character is
suffering depression and always feeling sad and tired from being around her child and taking care of
him and her husband. However, Faye in van der Zee s story is struggling with her reality of not being
able to have children and she s afraid of marrying her boyfriend, who is madly in love with her,
because she s afraid of disappointing him. Both women are unsure how to handle their problem and
their first instinct is to keep their distance and avoid their issues. Communication also played a huge
role in both situations. In A Secret Sorrow Kai wouldn t let Faye just walk away from him without
knowing what was wrong and wanted an explanation. That was the main key for their breakthrough.
In A Sorrowful Woman the husband would just agree with whatever his wife said and would abide by
her commands no matter how much it hurt him. If the husband would ve tried to figure out why she
was so sad and sick; things might ve gone differently.
In van der Zee s story Kai made Faye s tragedy his tragedy and made sure to let her know they were
going through it together.

Essay on Monstrosity
Mary Shelley made her reputation of being one of the best Romantic authors on the basis of just one
book. The notoriety that came with being the daughter of two famous authors helped, as did her age at
the time of conceiving the book, but Frankenstein was the only one of her stories to achieve any fame.
The level of fame it achieved, however, was astounding. In fact, even though it was originally
published in 1818, Alasdair Gray still saw fit to use Frankenstein as his primary inspiration for Poor
Things in 1992. The Gothic Romantic nature of both of these books is well known, but the
monstrosity contained within them is an interesting topic to examine.

The story grows from this inception to the somewhat vague description of Victor s creation. Shelley,
through Victor, through Walton, explains the manner in which Victor prowled graveyards and such to
compile body parts, much like Shelley used disjointed segments of individual observations to compile
her story. Then, she delves into a birth. The animation of his project scares Victor so much, that he
immediately abandons the creation, only to later see the monster in his room, reaching for Victor with
a grin. Victor ‘escapes, abandons his child again. The lack of parenting and guidance is remarkable,
no doubt inspired by Mary s own situation at the time. Then, as Victor wanders aimlessly, he
encounters his childhood best friend, Clerval. Clerval is one of the truly honest characters in the book,
though he also has problems with his father. He is Victor s true friend, one who will love him
regardless, though Victor is monstrous enough to miss that fact, and tells Clerval nothing of his
creation.
Shelley then introduces us to Justine Moritz, a maid at the Frankenstein s home, who was mistreated
by her mother before coming to work for them. Her love for the Frankenstein family is deep and pure.
This is why it is such a shock to find out that she is the primary suspect in the murder of Victor s
younger brother. The boy was strangled; a sign of rage and power issues, and a locket containing his
mothers picture was stolen.
Shelley keeps her

Clinical Reasoning Model Essay
Incorporating theory into practice is very important aspect in nursing profession. Nurses employ
analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core
essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge
(Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the
scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information
more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. Effective
clinical reasoning depends upon the nurse s ability to collect the right cues and to take the right action
for the right patient at the right time and for the right reason (Levett Jones, Hoffman, ... Show more

The application of critical thinking and clinical reasoning are crucial fundamentals in everyday life of
nurse s clinical practice. Like most skills, the more the nurses train, the more natural and easier it
becomes. Encouraging comparisons with similar presentations help learners widen their differential
diagnosis (Pinnock, R., Welch, P. 2014). Critical thinking is a purposeful, goal directed thinking
process that strives to problem solve patient care issues through the use of clinical reasoning (Estes,
M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). Clinical reasoning whereas is a disciplined, creative
and reflective approach used together with critical thinking to establish potential strategies to assist
patients in reaching their desired health goals (Estes, M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016).
Both these skills are vital and failure to grasp and master these abilities result in adverse patient
outcomes such as improper patient care, incorrect diagnose and inappropriate treatment. In other
words, critical thinking and clinical reasoning leads to critical

Essay On African American Inequality
The African American fight for civil rights has been a time consuming conflict in the United States of
America. More than 50 years after The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed, African Americans are
still treated differently from their white peers. While some people believe that African American
equality was solved with the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America,
this is not correct. Ever since the election of President Barack Obama, unarmed African Americans are
still being murdered by their American peers, causing the Black Lives Matter movement. The Black
Lives Matter movement was formed after Trayvon Martin, a young black male, was murdered by
George Zimmerman. While the 21st century is here, African American racial inequalities are still a
major problem. On March 15, 1965, former President, Lyndon B. Johnson, gave a speech, We Shall
Overcome in Washington, DC after the violent march in Selma, Alabama. This speech was Lyndon B.
Johnson s most memorable speech because he spoke about getting congress to ban racial
discrimination against African American s in the voting polls. While voting is now open to people of
all races, racism is still very alive in the United States. On March 18, 2008, President Barack Obama
gave a speech, A More Perfect Union in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. President Barack Obama s speech
was also about the African American race. In President Barack Obama s speech he addressed the racial

The relationship between the nobility and the peasants is that one group is at the top, while the other is
at the bottom. The nobility or gentry, were the dukes, marquesses, earls, viscounts and barons, of
which there were about 180 in the early century. These were men who sat in the House of Lords by
hereditary right. They lived in wealth, and earned money off of land ownership, while the lower
classes, or peasants, were the ones who worked. Poverty was widespread in the 18th century,
especially when harvests were poor and food prices rose. The poor would be housed in dormitory
conditions, divided by sex, with 2 or more to each bed. Rules were strict, food minimal and work
difficult. This information in important in understanding the difference between the lifestyles of the
rich and poor in 18th century England. This is a reliable source because the link for this website

Assessment Task TDA 2.1 Child and Young Person Development Task 2 2.2. Describe with examples
the importance of recognizing and responding to concerns about children and young people s
development. It is essential that anyone working with children can identify if a child is having
problems and might need extra support, this can be achieved through careful observation in the

a particular child they should initially go to the class teacher and share their thoughts but it is
important that they maintain as much confidentiality as possible and would need to find an appropriate

The central aim of space exploration and its chief inspiration during the 1960s was the landing of
instruments and men on the moon and planets, in particular to search for any sign of life.
When asked, What is the scientific value of sending men into space? Anatoly Blagonravov one of the
chief architects of the Soviets Unions space achievements answered, I quite agree that modern
techniques [of automatic instrumentation] permit us to solve all the scientific problems we set
ourselves. But I do not exclude that in the further development of space techniques the personal
participation of Man may be of great interest and importance. Independently of the perfection of
automatic machines, Man must see with his own eyes what is going on in space.
The Americans and the Soviet Space Program were both involved in man in space programs, but
unlike the Russians they were not inclined to minimize the scientific merits of the operation. Scientists
of the United States will welcome this technological achievement by Soviet engineers and medical
experts and by the Soviet astronaut, because it represents a further step in the exploration of space and
will inevitably add to Man s knowledge about himself and the universe in which he lives.

Analysis Of The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz, And Willy...
In a capitalistically inclined economy, the influences of wealth and social esteem are rooted deep
within the ideologies of such a system. Value of an entity is prescribed by these facets, those without
wealth or esteem are belittled and depreciated, while those that come to acquire said commodities are
prioritized above others in societal outlets. This is such that instills a drive within those under the
governance of a market economy, the desire for immense affluence, as well as incontestable social
influence. Duddy Kravitz in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz by Mordecai Richler, and Willy
Loman in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller thoroughly exemplify this drive for excess wealth and
power. When analyzing the characters of Duddy Kravitz and Willy Loman, it is made distinctly
evident that Duddy Kravitz is successful to a greater degree, when compared to Willy Loman, in
achieving the generic and superficial capitalistic views of success. This discrepancy between the two
characters is emphasized through Duddy Kravitz rigorous climb to social and financial influence. It
can be observed, that both Willy Loman and Duddy Kravitz share an inner drive to acquire monetary
wealth. Although this drive is instilled within them by the society they respectively live in, they
experience diverging degrees of superficial success due to their ability, or lack there of, to adapt to the
ruthless and competitive nature of a capitalistic society. It becomes evident that due to his

themselves have wondered about their effects because of numerous concerns raised with regards to the
negative influences that these form of entertainment bring. Many of today s children grow up with a
television at home or even in their own rooms and there have been studies dedicated to the analysis of
their impact of a young child growing up to adolescence. Young children are heavily influenced by
television and video games, many of which are educational. While there are fun educational shows
and games that benefit educational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How the contents or messages come through changes the attitude of the viewers or readers. The
messages that each kind of media exposes are dependent on person s view. He compares movies and
television in their manner of viewing and content saying that the visual presentation presents different
types of influences. Media as a vessel of influential messages is an essential point to consider to every
person who is into the broadcast and print industry.
Video Games Violence
Video games are a lucrative business anywhere in the world today, claiming US$ 10 billion in sales in
the United States alone in one year. However, with this increasing sales come serious concerns about
their effects on players, especially teenagers. Researches have been conducted to show the effects of
video games on teenagers. Results prove that there is indeed a high possibility and likelihood of
aggressive and violent behaviors to be manifested in some adolescents who frequently play violent
video games. With these findings, public policy options for limiting distribution of these kind of
games are being created; however, the creation and spread of more video games seem too many too
stop. In 2006, the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) reported their findings on studies
conducted on teenagers who play violent games. These young adolescents show long lasting effects of
abnormal brain functions which include

Analysis of the Absorption of Green Light Versus Red Light Absorption in Spinach Leaves
The goal of the experiment was to determine if green light had less ability to absorb than red light in
spinach leaves. This was done by separating the photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll
b, carotene and xanthophylls) from one another using paper chromatography. The separated pigments
were then analyzed for their absorption spectrum using a spectrographometer. When the data was
graphed it clearly showed the higher rate of red light absorption over green light. These results along
with previous research indicate the importance of red light in photosynthesis and the minor role green
light plays.

These wavelengths correspond to the wavelengths of visible light. Overall blue and red light works
best, while green in least effective in the photosynthesis process (Nishio, 2000). The wavelengths that
a pigment absorbs, absorption spectra, are determined using a spectrophotometer. In order to obtain
the photosynthetic pigment s absorption spectra the pigments are separated using paper
chromatography. Paper chromatography is an analytical technique that separates a mixture based on
the individual pigment s size, polarity and solubility (Lewis, 2004). The separation of the mixtures
involves a stationary phase (the chromatography paper), which a mobile phase (solvent) moves up
through. When the mixtures is applied to the paper and allowed to flow with the mobile phase, the
different pigments move at different rates (Campbell, 1996). This means the pigments that absorb the
strongest to the stationary phase (the chromatography paper) will move the slowest, while the weakest
will move the fastest. The rate of the pigments movement will separate each pigment individually
from the mixture (Maitland, 2002). This natural separation shows that each pigment is chemically
different and plays different roles in photosynthesis (Maitland, 2002). To analyze the separated
pigments a spectrophotometer is used to obtain an absorbance spectrum. This spectrum is a graph that
shows a pigment s light absorption versus wavelengths

Back in the day, the population of UAE is very unevenly distributed; there is a dense amount of people living in Abu Dhabi due to its abundance of water and palm trees. The construction of forts and citadels were very popular during that era. While forts were being used accommodation, citadels were commonly used as a defensive structure used in more urban or densely populated areas and was associated specifically with a powerful leader. The lower classes lived in houses built with perishable materials such as palm frond and woven palm mat while the higher classes lived in stone, mud brick and coral houses built by professional builders. [1] Figure 1 shows a typical house in a village built using woven palm mats, mostly inhabited by lower class families [2] Another factor that affected the traditional architecture of Abu Dhabi was the climate. Because of its arid climate, one of the solutions was to build wind towers, which is a concave V shape to deflect wind down to cool the spaces below it. Buildings were also built close to each other, with narrow alleys between them, called the sikkas. These rely on the northern winds to flow freely and into spaces to ensure ventilation. Difference Between Climate, Weather And Meteorology Alejandro Delapena Atmospheric Sciences 100 May 11, 2016 Austin Harris Meteorology Essay Part one: Explain the difference between Climate, Weather and Meteorology. Despite the fact that weather, climate and meteorology are correlated; all three topics differ from each other. With this out of the way, meteorology is defined as the study of both the atmosphere s climate and weather. The main difference in between climate and weather is that they are determined by time; meaning that weather is known as the conditions of the atmosphere over a short period of time, while climate is the average conditions recorded of the atmosphere s weather over a long period of time. For instance, when we talk about climate change we are talking about how the atmosphere s average behavior has changed over time based on the current weather. Weather is reported daily through current measured aspects of the atmosphere like temperature, wind speed and direction, dew point, pressure and precipitation. Over time, these daily weather variables help meteorologists determine the climate for the given region they are analyzing. By determining the climate of the region, meteorologists are able to roughly predict the weather for the future. In summary, with the help of science and technology, meteorologists are able to accurately predict what the weather of a region will be for the next few days. While, knowing the climate of the given region, they are able to make rough predictions on what the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, during the exile of numerous Portuguese men into the city, an influx of 145,000 of African slaves arrived in the capital of Rio. By the year of 1840, the rate of African slavery increased up to 220,000 people. In 1822, Prince Pedro declared the independence of Brazil, and kept Rio de Janeiro as the country s capital. Early in the 1900s, the centre of the city was developing; the first tunnel in the capital was built under the mountains of Botafogo and Copacanaba, and electric streetcars travelled from north to south of the urban. At the same time, the population of Rio was growing, and the amount of landscapes were getting limited, therefore the city started to shift from north to south. Effects Of Turbiridity Due On Land Use 1)Effects of turbiridity due to land use changes Turbidity measures the amount of light scattered from a sample and more suspended particles causes more scattering results in high turbidity. Turbidity measurements are often used as indicator of water quality based on clarity and total suspended solid particles. Turbidity doesn t include the dissolved solids which reduces the scattering. In agricultural lands the receiving water is contaminated by nonpoint pollution due to different agricultural activities like crop production, cattle operations, crop pattern and rangelands. High rates of surface runoff and erosion of land covered by annual crops have high levels of turbidity in receiving water specially in spring when vegetation cover is minimal. Wetlands used in removal of bacterial contamination in rivers , act as biofilter which increases the turbidity. Turbidity is negatively related with the forested areas and positively with the annual crops and urban land use. The townspeople greet the bishop in an overwhelming manner, creating a strong contrast against the neglectful attitude of the bishop: But the Bishop didn t stop and then the band of musicians started to play the bishop s anthem, and the cocks began to crow in their baskets and aroused all the other roosters in town. These actions of the bishop do not earn him respect as a person but only as an empty shell of authority, another defect in the practical result of religious doctrines. Consequently, intervention was delayed. Moreover, Lincoln s ideas about ending slavery caused Britain to hesitate (Brauer). Two major reasons contributed to Britain seeking intervention as a result of the Battle at Antietam. First is the fact that America practiced slavery. In a letter from Secretary of State William H. Seward to Henry Adams 18 August 1862, Seward wrote, I cannot avoid thinking that the ideas of intervention and mediation have their source in an imperfect conception in Europe of the independence of the American Nation (Papers Relating to Foreign Affairs). It is important to remember that both Britain and France were anti slavery at the time. Slavery was viewed as one of America s most noticeable imperfections. Secondly, the cotton famine was severely affecting the British. When the Union captured New Orleans, cotton flow to Britain was still not returned as promised by Seward. Throughout the summer, pressure built for Britain and France to mediate a settlement, which would mean Confederate independence. The Paris Constitutionnel reported in June 1862 that only British intervention would end this bloody war (McPherson 57). In addition, I had the chance to see the work of dental hygienist in a hospital setting, and I have to say I liked it a lot. I wish I could have the opportunity to work at a hospital as well. For the morning I saw a 73 years old how suffers from Parkinson s disease, high blood pressure, and GERD. She came for her 3 month recall visit and her vitals were BP: 147/67 P: 89. • 25. Comparing A Sorrowful Woman By Gail Godwin, And A Secret... Children, Marriage and Love are the three main factors of the two short stories, A Sorrowful Woman by Gail Godwin, and A Secret Sorrow by Karen van der Zee. Two relationships at risk because of children. Neither of them know what to do but try to find solutions to solve their problems. They end up having different outcomes. In both stories both women face a major issue. In Godwin s story the main female character is suffering depression and always feeling sad and tired from being around her child and taking care of him and her husband. However, Faye in van der Zee s story is struggling with her reality of not being able to have children and she s afraid of marrying her boyfriend, who is madly in love with her, because she s afraid of disappointing him. Both women are unsure how to handle their problem and their first instinct is to keep their distance and avoid their issues. Communication also played a huge role in both situations. In A Secret Sorrow Kai wouldn t let Faye just walk away from him without knowing what was wrong and wanted an explanation. That was the main key for their breakthrough. In A Sorrowful Woman the husband would just agree with whatever his wife said and would abide by her commands no matter how much it hurt him. If the husband would ve tried to figure out why she was so sad and sick; things might ve gone differently. In van der Zee s story Kai made Faye s tragedy his tragedy and made sure to let her know they were going through it together. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Poor Things V. Frankenstein Andrew Klush Eng 101H Mr. Panza Essay on Monstrosity Mary Shelley made her reputation of being one of the best Romantic authors on the basis of just one book. The notoriety that came with being the daughter of two famous authors helped, as did her age at the time of conceiving the book, but Frankenstein was the only one of her stories to achieve any fame. The level of fame it achieved, however, was astounding. In fact, even though it was originally published in 1818, Alasdair Gray still saw fit to use Frankenstein as his primary inspiration for Poor Things in 1992. The Gothic Romantic nature of both of these books is well known, but the monstrosity contained within them is an interesting topic to examine. Romantic literature was ... Shelley, through Victor, through Walton, explains the manner in which Victor prowled graveyards and such to compile body parts, much like Shelley used disjointed segments of individual observations to compile her story. Then, she delves into a birth. The animation of his project scares Victor so much, that he immediately abandons the creation, only to later see the monster in his room, reaching for Victor with a grin. Victor ‘escapes, abandons his child again. The lack of parenting and guidance is remarkable, no doubt inspired by Mary s own situation at the time. Then, as Victor wanders aimlessly, he encounters his childhood best friend, Clerval. Clerval is one of the truly honest characters in the book, though he also has problems with his father. He is Victor s true friend, one who will love him regardless, though Victor is monstrous enough to miss that fact, and tells Clerval nothing of his creation. Shelley then introduces us to Justine Moritz, a maid at the Frankenstein s home, who was mistreated by her mother before coming to work for them. Her love for the Frankenstein family is deep and pure. This is why it is such a shock to find out that she is the primary suspect in the murder of Victor s younger brother. • 28. Clinical Reasoning Model Essay Incorporating theory into practice is very important aspect in nursing profession. Nurses employ analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge (Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. More than 50 years after The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed, African Americans are still treated differently from their white peers. While some people believe that African American equality was solved with the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America, this is not correct. Ever since the election of President Barack Obama, unarmed African Americans are still being murdered by their American peers, causing the Black Lives Matter movement. The Black Lives Matter movement was formed after Trayvon Martin, a young black male, was murdered by George Zimmerman. While the 21st century is here, African American racial inequalities are still a major problem. On March 15, 1965, former President, Lyndon B. Johnson, gave a speech, We Shall Overcome in Washington, DC after the violent march in Selma, Alabama. This speech was Lyndon B. Johnson s most memorable speech because he spoke about getting congress to ban racial discrimination against African American s in the voting polls. While voting is now open to people of all races, racism is still very alive in the United States. In a capitalistically inclined economy, the influences of wealth and social esteem are rooted deep within the ideologies of such a system. Value of an entity is prescribed by these facets, those without wealth or esteem are belittled and depreciated, while those that come to acquire said commodities are prioritized above others in societal outlets. This is such that instills a drive within those under the governance of a market economy, the desire for immense affluence, as well as incontestable social influence. Duddy Kravitz in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz by Mordecai Richler, and Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller thoroughly exemplify this drive for excess wealth and power. When analyzing the characters of Duddy Kravitz and Willy Loman, it is made distinctly evident that Duddy Kravitz is successful to a greater degree, when compared to Willy Loman, in achieving the generic and superficial capitalistic views of success. This discrepancy between the two characters is emphasized through Duddy Kravitz rigorous climb to social and financial influence. It can be observed, that both Willy Loman and Duddy Kravitz share an inner drive to acquire monetary wealth. The separated pigments were then analyzed for their absorption spectrum using a spectrographometer. Overall blue and red light works best, while green in least effective in the photosynthesis process (Nishio, 2000). The wavelengths that a pigment absorbs, absorption spectra, are determined using a spectrophotometer. In order to obtain the photosynthetic pigment s absorption spectra the pigments are separated using paper chromatography. Paper chromatography is an analytical technique that separates a mixture based on the individual pigment s size, polarity and solubility (Lewis, 2004). The separation of the mixtures involves a stationary phase (the chromatography paper), which a mobile phase (solvent) moves up through. When the mixtures is applied to the paper and allowed to flow with the mobile phase, the different pigments move at different rates (Campbell, 1996). This means the pigments that absorb the strongest to the stationary phase (the chromatography paper) will move the slowest, while the weakest will move the fastest. The rate of the pigments movement will separate each pigment individually from the mixture (Maitland, 2002). This natural separation shows that each pigment is chemically different and plays different roles in photosynthesis (Maitland, 2002). To analyze the separated pigments a spectrophotometer is used to obtain an absorbance spectrum. This spectrum is a graph that shows a pigment s light absorption versus wavelengths ...
