Write An Essay About Dancing En Pointe
The Point Behind the Pointe
Nothing compares to that moment when a dance teacher gives permission for a dancer to purchase
their first pair of pointe shoes. The excitement builds, through the first fitting, up until the first pointe
class. There is an unseen evil lurking behind this happiness. Dancing en pointe is a dangerous
business, at all times there is a risk of injury, even at the professional level, one misplaced pose, or one
careless jump and their career is over.
In regards to the beginner student, should they be placed en pointe too young or before they have
sufficient strength, and technique, their career may be over before it begins. The majority of dancers
are ready to begin dancing en pointe between the ages of ten and twelve, but occasionally, an
exceptionally strong nine year old will be able to advance to the higher levels. The bones in the feet

Pointe is difficult, demanding, and painful. The dancer needs to be prepared to suffer from sore feet,
pain, and blisters. The shoes themselves also demand a great level of responsibility to maintain. The
student must be able to put them on correctly, and tie them to the ankles in the correct fashion . The
dancer must have a good work ethic and attitude towards their dance training, and dancing en pointe.
Focus and dedication is required throughout classes. Their studio etiquette is a good signal for this;
whether they come to class in the appropriate attire, whether they come prepared, whether they apply
corrections, and finally whether they show correct and appropriate class behaviour . To maintain the
required strength for pointe work, it takes discipline, and it cannot be maintained with classes alone.
The dancer must be comfortable with working outside of classes to enable them to dance en pointe to
the best of their

Hedonistic Treadmill Research
Thousands of kilograms of plastic enter the oceans every minute. However, consumers do not see the
severity of their consumptive lifestyles. Instead, they go to their favorite coffee shop, order a drink and
then throw away the cup once they are done. Many do not look for recycling bins, and almost all
consumers do not think about where their garbage goes after they throw it away. A majority of
consumers simply think their old coffee cups fill in a landfill, but what many do not know is that some
people consume up to 11,000 pieces of plastic a year along with their seafood (Walsh, Formanek, Loo
and Phillips). But, if this consumption has such a large impact on lives and the environment, why are
consumer not more aware? The Hedonistic Treadmill, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a CNN report, halting the amount of plastic flowing into oceans would, require and
incredible change in the daily behavior of 7 billion people (Walsh et al.). The need for this extreme
measure did not happen overnight. This problem has grown over the course of many years, and only
continues to worsen as the Hedonistic Treadmill speeds up. This problem is so large, that it constitutes
as a market failure. Due to the impact of excessive plastic in the oceans, animals are dying, and
individuals are consuming large amounts of plastic each year. Thus, the speed of the Hedonistic
Treadmill is causing the market to fail due to its negative externalities on wildlife, the environment
and humans. However, the degree of the problem indicates that this failure, and its solutions, have not

Difference Between Conceptualism And Conceptual Art
Materiality and conceptualism whether contemporary or traditional, are two major groundings within
the world of African art. Henceforth within this essay one will be contrasting and comparing one
traditional African artwork; The Ngwana a ditlhaka (figure 1) by the Northern Sotho people and one
contemporary African artwork; Bleeding tokarai (figure 2) by El Anutsui; in order to establish the
works conceptual grounding in terms of materiality. At first this essay will be highlighting the
historical and contextual aspects of each artwork along with in depth explanations and explorations of
the concepts of materiality and conceptualism along with their sub concepts of material accumulation

through the flexibility of his titles as previously explained. As it is said that explanations stand in the
way of the viewer accessing the full conceptual meaning of the work , preventing the viewer going

Aboriginal People Of Canada
Aboriginal peoples of Canada have suffered exponentially throughout the entirety of history and
proceed to do so in modern society. Much of the continued suffrage of aboriginal peoples is as a result
of the Sixties Scoop and the Residential School System, as well as the lack of resources available to
them. This has wreaked extensive havoc on the mental health of Aboriginal peoples, and has left
excessive amounts of stigma and racism attached to Aboriginal Peoples, explicitly seen in the cases of
missing and murdered Indigenous women. The effects that have been left on the aboriginal peoples by
their experiences throughout history have had a profound effect on their quality of life. Many continue
to experience immense struggle in the areas of mental health and addictions. The sixties scoop saw the
removal of thousands of aboriginal children from their homes, leaving them without any of the
traditions they had come to know. This led to a feeling of great confusion as to who they were,
especially during some of the most crucial years of development. As is outlined in the story of one
such child, Lynn Thompson, who stated in an interview with the Saskatchewan Sage, Like many of
the children in my situation, I was abused, eventually ended up settled in a German Mennonite
community in Manitoba, where I shot myself. I would have given anything to be in a residential
school, to have other brown faces around. Further on in the interview, Lynn s experiences with

Negative Costs
Antonio,
How frustrating it must have been for you and the family to endure a week of property damages and
maintenance in your home. This is a fantastic example in which we can learn a little more about how
cost plus pricing works (Thomas Maurice, 2010). Furthermore, let us consider this discussion can
enable you in the future to make better choices.
It has been my experience in a few cases that the insurance company will evaluate property damages
by the overall cost (Araujo, 2017). But in order to better understand what challenges you had with
your friend the contractor, let us create a fictitious example. First, the contractor figures out materials

According to Euchner Ganguly of Business Model Innovation in Practice, they explore how firms
study approaches to capturing the consumer, and realize that there is a potential risk involved when
setting prices Euchner Ganguly, 2014). So in order for the firm to make a profit, it will have to
determine where its marginal revenue will equal its marginal cost; as for the water heater technician
his marginal cost is $150 dollars then that is the lowest he can go, and he can only, by all means strive
to rise hire than that price for to go lower he place the firm in a disequilibrium. It is imperative that the
firm maximize its profit (Thomas Maurice, 2010). The question Antonio is how much would you be
willing to pay in addition to get that water heater fixed to take care of yourself and love ones; would
you pay $160, or 170 and even at night would you pay $200 to get hot water running. The next step
would be for the firm you call to say Well, Mr. Antonio, with the distance that I ve traveled, and the
time of night you called, well, it is going to cost you about $2.... He stops, and then he changes the
price as he hears your baby crying in the distance, and says, that it will be $170 dollars. But why the
sudden change of heart; because he knows that from his profit maximization of $150 that his quote of
$170 falls in line with of his economic

Examples Of Religious Hypocrisy In Tartuffe
Moliere s Tartuffe attacks religious hypocrisy through one person, Tartuffe. Tartuffe is an imposter,
who has no morals and only uses religion as a cover up for his vices and crimes. He pretends to be
extremely pious, but his actions go entirely against the moral codes of his religion. In Act 3, Scene 2,
when he sees Dorine, Tartuffe tells her, Cover that bust. The flesh is weak. Souls are forever damaged
by such sights, When sinful thoughts begin their evil flights. (lines 8 10) Tartuffe preaches the
importance of celibacy here. However, in the next scene, he contradicts what he tells Dorine. He
blatantly seduces Elmire and urges her to betray her husband. He takes her hand and presses her
fingertips (Molière 87) and places his hand on her knee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Molière s juxtaposition of Tartuffe s behavior in these two scenes enables the audience to clearly see
the inconsistency between his words and actions. Tartuffe s drastic change of behavior in the course of
two scenes produces a comic effect that is intended to satirize the kind of religious hypocrisy
embodied in Tartuffe.
Like Molière, Voltaire attacks religious hypocrisy. However, unlike Tartuffe, which embodies religious
hypocrisy in a single person, Candide focuses on the religious hypocrisy of entire religious
organizations. Voltaire believes that the priesthood of the Catholic Church and the Jesuits, in
particular, are especially hypocritical. The clergy tell people to follow a set of rules and moral codes
and severely punish those who transgress them. However, they themselves do not obey these rules and
codes. For example, some Franciscans and Jesuits are found to have syphilis

The Chemical Solution Of M Hcl
EXPERIMENTAL Part A of this experiment was essential because it set up the chemical solutions
needed for Part B and C, as well as the equipment that was used throughout the entire experiment. To
start, a 300mL solution of 2M HCl was prepared with the stock solution of 6M HCl. For this, 200mL
of deionized water was collected and added it to a 400mL beaker. Then, 100mL of 6M HCl was added
to the water. Next, 150mL of 2M NaOH was prepped by 50mL deionized water combined with 100mL
3M NaOH in another 400mL beaker. Before the experiment began, the LabQuest was plugged in and
turned on. The temperature probe was then plugged into channel one of the LabQuest. In order to fully
set up the LabQuest, the interval was changed to 15 s/sample. Part B was responsible for the reaction
of hydrochloric acid and ammonium hydroxide. The first of three sub reactions were monitored when
2 Styrofoam cups were stacked together and placed in a 400mL beaker. The cups were filled with
50mL 2M HCl first while the initial temperature was recorded. After 3 or 4 readings, 2M NaOH was
added in one smooth motion and stirred until the temperature reached a maximum or began to
decrease. Once the data was collected, the mixture was disposed of and the equipment was rinsed and
dried. Next, using the same method, the calorimeter was set up with 50mL 2M NaOH. After inserting
the temperature probe and receiving 3 or 4 readings, 50mL 2M NH4Cl was poured in and the cup was

High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique
2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple
exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image
editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a
scene, image or imaging device is dened as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal
level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range
of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using
floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have
limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve
this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range
image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classied into two
categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially
uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR
image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity
orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped
images. Local operators, which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because
mapping function processes

Collection of Information for Systems Analysis Essay examples
A critical part for systems analysis is the collection of information. From the very beginning, analyst
need to understand the information systems that are currently in use. Besides, analyst has to find out
expectations of users about how they prefer to improve the current systems and organizational
operations with the new or replacement information systems. Last but not least, analyst will need to
discover how users feel about the new or replacement information systems. There are many
techniques for collecting these information. Face to face interviewing and self administered
questionnaires are two main techniques among them. This report is about a comparison of face to face
interviewing and self administered questionnaires. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The form of questionnaire could be through telephone, mail or even email in this day and age. The
following part will discuss advantage and disadvantage for face to face interview and questionnaire.
After that, a recommendation will be given for which techniques should be used to collect feelings of
staffs .
1.2 Advantage and Disadvantage of face to face interview
According to Holbrook, Green and Krosnick (2003, p.79), face to face interview is known for its high
quality. Kendall and Kendall (2006, p.110) argue that an a question and answer format is used for
information gathering interview which is a directed conversation with a specific purpose. In fact if we
want to understand why we need to choose interview as a select technique, we need to find out what
we can get from the interview. One thing that we can get from the interview is the opinions of the
interviewee and his or her feelings about the system, organizational and personal goals, and informal
procedures for interacting with information technologies. The truth is that opinions maybe more
important and more revealing than facts. An example can be given as asking the owner of a traditional
store who has recently implement an online store how many customer has complain and need to
refund who deal through Web transactions each week. She replies: About 20 to 25 a week. Then you
may discover that the average is only 10.5 per week. A conclusion will

Cretaceous-Paleogene Boundary Essay
The Cretaceous Paleogene boundary that occurred around 65 million years ago marks one of the three
largest mass extinctions in the past 500 million years. The hypotheses of Cretaceous Tertiary boundary
impact on YucatĂĄn Peninsula, Mexico shows evidence in the Gulf of Mexico of turbidity currents, and
giant waves occurring because of the impact. There is also other evidence that impact ejecta were
distributed all over the world. The mineral that was ejected during this impact was iridium. Iridium is
a mineral that is commonly used to indicate a rock layer from the K T boundary. Iridium is only found
naturally on extraterrestrial bodies. In addition to Iridium, shocked quartz is used to indicate the K T
boundary. Shocked quartz is unique and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The four controls for a turbiditie sequence to form are tectonic activity, climate, sedimentary
processes, and sea level fluctuations. The mass of the bolide that impacted the Yucatan Peninsula
would have been large enough to irritate the plates, and possibly catalyze their movements. The
suggested size of the bolide is around 180 kilometers. The climate of the time can be closer examined
by checking the paleontology of rock layers found before and after the K T boundary. Sedimentary
processes and sea level fluctuations could have taken a huge turn, due to the fact that an unexpected
large extraterrestrial body crashed into the Yucatan Peninsula. It is also suggested by geoscientists that
a tsunami about 50 to 100 meters high hit the coast of Texas, which resulted in an unconformity near
Brazos River, Texas. The two major end members of a turbidite are coarse grained to sand rich and
then fine grained to mud rich. These two end members are important because they are used in order to
examine submarine fans. Submarine fans can be geological clues as to what was going on in a
particular layer of

The History Of The Big Ear Radio Telescope
Have you ever pondered what may lie beyond our solar system? Perhaps you ve decided that there is
no way anything could be out there, in the empty, seemingly endless void we call space. However,
perhaps there is other life out there, life more advanced than us, perhaps life just now exiting what to
us would be the stone age, the possibilities are truly infinite. Personally, I believe there are other
beings out there in the vast expanse. On August 15th, 1977 at 11:16 PM EDT the Big Ear Radio
Telescope located at the Ohio State University received an unknown radio transmission that came
from somewhere seemingly within the Sagittarius Constellation, bearing the hallmarks of
extraterrestrial origin. Eighteen years prior to this, Two Cornwell ... Show more content on

however, he got a message written there was a 1mm error of the product they made and asked what
they should do? The manager from Swedish does not understand why the Chinese employee ask him

Whales Evolution
Did you even know whales ever lived on land? The whales are the biggest animals. They are larger
than the largest dinosaurs. They live in the ocean like other sea creatures, but they almost look like the
land living animals more than the fishes. Furthermore, some scientists believed that around fifty
millions of years ago, the whales probably lived upon the land. There are two significant exhibits from
the two different periods why the scientists astonish about whale s living is familiar to land living
mammals, which are whale s anatomy in this current period and whale s fossil remains of the past.
Firstly, the anatomy of the whales nowadays is one of the significant testimonies to attest that the
whales lived on a land for a very long time ago. According to whale s anatomy, the whales have
placentas for giving birth and have nipples for feeding milk to their young unlike fish that lay eggs for

Solutions Focused Therapy ( Sfbt ) Solution Focused Essay
Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT) Solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) places focus on a person s
present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal oriented therapy,
the symptoms or issues bringing a person to therapy are typically not targeted. Instead, a qualified
therapist encourages those in treatment to develop a vision of the future and offers support as they
determine the skills, resources, and abilities needed to achieve that vision successfully. History and
Development of SFBT The need for an alternative approach to therapy was recognized as mental
health practitioners began to observe the amount of energy, time, money, and other resources spent
discussing and analyzing the challenges revealed during the therapy process, while the issues
originally bringing an individual to therapy continued to have a negative impact. Steve de Shazer and
Insoo Kim Berg of the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, along with their team, developed
solution focused brief therapy in the early 1980s in response to this observation. SFBT aims to
develop realistic solutions as quickly as possible, rather than keeping people in therapy for long
periods of time, in order to promote lasting relief for those in therapy. How Does SFBT Work? SFBT,
which aims to help people experiencing difficulty find tools they can use immediately to manage
symptoms and cope with challenges, is grounded in the belief that although individuals may already

Fallen Angels In America
Fallen Angels in America Tony Kushner s play Angels in America was set in the 1980s, amid Ronald
Reagan s administration. Many people believe that this play is political, since we hear a significant
amount about Reagan. Additionally, his administration has been largely criticized for its negligence
toward the AIDS crisis. Furthermore, numerous LGBT activists have blamed Reagan for overlooking
the epidemic since it was thought to be, for the most part, a disease that primarily affected gay men
and, perhaps not surprising, African Americans. Although, Tony Kushner s Angels in America
primarily focused on the AIDS epidemic in the United States, Kushner masterfully used themes of

Tension in Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho Essay
Tension in Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho
When Psycho was first released in cinemas in 1960, audiences all over the world were shocked. They
were shocked that something as sexually explicit, for that era, was being screened in hundreds of
cinemas. Although audiences of the modern day are used to violence and sex scenes, the audiences of
the 60 s reacted in different ways. Some people viewed Psycho as a cinematic brilliance but other
critics gave the film many bad initial reviews. This is because Hitchcock was extremely secretive in
the making and publicity. He did not allow critics to see the film at special screenings. Instead they

This boldly suggests that she has turned the corner from being a good girl to a bad girl.
The use of mirrors signifies the chaos/evil theme, which Hitchcock favors. The scene where Marian
holds up the money beside the mirror in the Bates motel s toilets, shows Hitchcock s idea of the
innerself and private self being shown in the reflection of the mirror. We are shown that Marian is
uncertain of the situation. However when we see a reflection of Norman Bates in a window, it implies
that although he has a nice outer persona, he must have a darker innerself.
Hitchcock uses weather to a great advantage. It is a great atmosphere maker as whenever we see the
Bates House, it is always in shadow, whether it s raining or sunny. The weather makes it gloomy and
sinister. At Marian s arrival at the motel, the rain blinds her way so she has no choice but to stop at
that particular motel. Perhaps if it hadn t been raining she wouldn t have stopped and thus not met her
dreadful demise.
The house is always shot in cloud or gloom like a haunted house. The use of lights in the house adds
atmosphere because from the outside it gives the impression of waiting and watchful eyes. Bates
house is always shot from a low angle, this makes the steps up to the house seem never ending. This
maintains tension as we don t know when

My Trip To Mackinaw Island-Personal Narrative
It was last summer around July when my family and I woke up around 7:00 A.M to drive to
Mackinaw Island. Preparing for this trip was extremely hectic because we had to pack all of our
clothes and food that we wanted for the car ride. We were all in the car around 7:45 with all of our
things packed. We locked all the doors up and turn all the lights off. The drive took us about 4 hours to
get to St. Ignace. My sisters and I watched a movie during the car ride, read and did homework so that
we were occupied during the long car ride. My favorite part when we were driving was probably when
we went across the Mackinaw Bridge because, it felt like our car was driving on the bright blue lake
which was cool. My mom was frightened to look out the window ... Show more content on

she went to 6th grade camp. My Dad went up desk and paid for two tickets, one for me and one for
my sister Lauryn. First we had to step through a harness and buckle it around our waste. Next, we had
to put on a red helmet that had the company s logo and a strap to put around our neck. Once all of our
safety gear was on we moved to the tall platform. I could hear my heart starting to pound out of my
chest. I was beginning to have second thoughts. I could feel my hair blowing in the wind. It was time
for me to go. The man pushed me off the platform. Suddenly my feet were dangling in mid air. I felt
like I was flying in the sky. Beneath us were people playing mini golf. I was wondering what would
happen if I fell down, but I realized that I was going to be safe and that it would be unrealistic. Once
we reached the end of the zip line we had to walk all the way back to where we started. We went on
the zipline again because my parents got the tickets where you got to go two times. After that, we
thanked our parent because we knew that this was something that we were going to remember. My

Knights Vs Samurai Dbq Essay
Knights and Samurai are Far More Alike than They are Different Europe and Japan are 5,313 miles
away from one another and their warriors at the time were very similar. The similarities between the
two started out by both empires falling and then they both developed feudalism. I think it s crazy that
they two empires so far apart can be so similar, not only their empires but those who protect them. In
this essay I will discuss the feudal system, military similarities, and their feelings about death. The
knights in Europe and the samurai in Japan are extremely similar. The Samurai and Knights have
similar ways in their feudal systems. Document A shows us that the warriors are the fourth ones down
on the social pyramid. It also says that they both have the same jobs in their society. Both of the
empires developed a feudal system of ruling and gave their warriors the same job. Document B further
explains details of the warriors jobs. Both must be respectful to their lords and protect their whole
family. The Knights and Samurai have the same jobs in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As document C explains that at a young age both the Samurai and Knights were sent off to training in
order to become the best warrior they could be. Once the children reached the age of 14 they moved
up, the Japanese kids became a Samurai and the European children became a squire to have weapon
training. Not only was the training of both the warriors similar, but their armor was also similar.
Document D says that the Samurai s armor was made of small iron plates and the Knight s armor was
made of chainmail. Chainmail was small metal rings linked together. The chainmail so evolved into
metal plates because of the development of stronger weapons. Both of the warriors wore metal plates
to protect them from being killed. Both of the warriors in totally separate empires had very similar

Female Circumcision Research Paper
Female circumcision is a ritualized form of child abuse and violence against women, it is a violation
of human rights. Firstly, demonstrated is a map of where female genital mutilation is happening in the
parts of Africa. The map introduces that Somalia is the most well known spot there is 98% of
prevalence of female genital mutilation. This leads to what female circumcision actually is. Female
circumcision or genital mutilation, is an aggregate removing of the outside female genitalia for
nonmedical reasons. It has been practiced for a considerable length of time in parts of Africa

This solution is suggested by a United Nations public health arm called World Health Organisation
also most commonly referred to as WHO . Building evidence does in fact help people to examine their

Educational sessions will empower women to exchange the traumatic experiences they have been
through and help them reveal and share their feeling and examine the different attitudes reflected
towards female genital mutilation in the community. Increasing access to education is another key
strategy because educated women are less likely to allow their daughters to be cut. This is certainly a
wonderful idea as women can relate to other women about their experiences however, i don t think
this is the best conceivable thought out there because teaching the girls out there in Somalia would not
help as much because they do not have a word to say when it comes to these matters. This is because
it is the girls parents who initiate the entire procedure and ensure that females experience genital

Question 2
Of the two formulations we discussed of Kant on the Categorical Imperative then I
would go along with the second idea it seems to be the most workable and valuable. This
concept states that humans are the ends in themselves(mere means). Though this point
seems to be very simple and idealistic, it could be sensible. Kant believes that the
preservation of life is the number one duty in sensible individuals. This not only includes
our lives, but also trying to help others in their lives. This is what he meant when
discussing that humans are not means but ends. This goes on that humans aren t used to
be methods to get somewhere or something by other humans. If this point was taken and
used it could prove to be useful. People wouldn t be taken advantage of or manipulated.
Unless it was some kind of mutual agreement.

With terror, comes peace and harmony, but not all the time, two speeches are evaluated to determine

President Trump s remarks on the Las Vegas shooting . The link which connects the speeches is the
rhetorical devices, word choice, tone, persuasive appeals including many others, granting the ability of
a stronger claim. The speakers Former President Barack Obama, and President Donald Trump
incorporate similar ideas and how these ideas had been portrayed throughout their speeches. There are
other essential details that fortified their speech, contrariwise there were details that hindered their
speech, displaying weaknesses when discussing certain points. The affinity between the two speeches
is intricately filled with minutiae making them harder to spot in comparison to the distinction amongst
both. Although, Former President Obama s speech had plenty of emotionally inducing words, Trump s
speech was more effectively written with informative statements strengthening his speech.
Furthermore, the speakers benefit from the use of rhetorical devices such as anaphora, parallelism, and
even epistrophe, however, this is where the similarities come to a near end. The format in which these
rhetorical devices were used, or how they were used creates complications when it comes to
determining the correlation or lack of correlation between the speeches. The structure and overall

Invasive Species Effect On Environment
Issue: The environmental issue that I have chosen is the impact that invasive species have on the
environment. The impact that invasive species have on the environment is vast, yet little is done about
it. This issue is extremely important and will impact the world for generations to come. In this paper, I
hope to learn about the effect they have on environment and what we can do about it.
Position: I currently believe that invasive species have a large impact on the environment, but I am not
sure of the extent of it. I feel more needs to be done about it because in the general public not many
are concerned about it. I hope to find out more about this issue in order to back my theory.
Research Strategy: In order to back my idea I will find several informed and scholarly articles,
backing my theory. This includes looking at the effects invasive species have on the native ones. I will
look at both sides to accurately come to the final conclusion. The most accurate information will come
from books published on invasive species. These books can be found at local libraries and online
libraries.
Significance: The question of whether or not invasive species impact the environment is an important
one. The answer affects everyone. In today s world, we take the outdoors for granted. People don t
realize how much it does for us. It provides economical resources, areas to relax, and oxygen for us to
breathe. Without these simple things our lives would change drastically. Life as we

Examples Of Identity Ethics In A Cyborg Manifesto
Identity Ethics in a Cyborg Manifesto A Cyborg Manifesto is a ´blasphemous´ critique of feminism
written by Haraway at a time when unfettered patriarchal capitalism was taking new forms enabled by
emerged technological developments during the 1980s. She warns of scary new networks (Haraway
1990, p.203) that are emerging; new systems of domination that will replace traditional hegemonic
structures of power. She foresees a´´system of world order analogous in its novelty and scope to that
created by industrial capitalism, (Ibid) that will emerge through technological progress. She terms
these new systems ´´the informatics of domination´´(Ibid) However, Haraway offers cause for hope;
within the new technologies feminists can find potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The emphasis on identity politics, she argues, reproduces the dualisms and creates fragmented
subjectivities. These maintain the boundaries, creating factional politics as opposed to affinity and
solidarity between feminist activists. Thus the transgressory potential of the cyborg form is proposed
to create unity within feminist movements, transgressing the dualisms that identity politics themselves
create. Haraway writes an imaginative resource suggesting some very fruitful couplings. (Haraway
1990, p.191) The cyborg emerges within her text as both a metaphor for a postmodern identity, but
also a lived reality that is the product of the new technological forms. It embodies an oppositional
consciousness that is exempt from dualisms, capable of confrontation with the new forms of

How Did Women Get To Vote In 1918
To what extent were women s efforts throughout the First World War the main reason behind them
gaining the vote in 1918?
The Representation of the People Act allowed women, over the age of 30, in Great Britain to vote for
the first time in 1918. Previously, women had been viewed as uneducated and irrational, unable to
make a decision on who to vote for themselves. Women had also been expected to stay at home,
looking after children, cooking, and cleaning, for when their husbands returned. However, many
women had grown tired of this and wanted the right to vote as a way of voicing their opinions and so
that they could get even more equality for women across Britain. The contributions made by women,
on the Homefront, during the First World War ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The National Union of Women s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), nicknamed the Suffragists, believed in
peaceful campaigning, such as handing out pamphlets and organising petitions. Their hope was that
this would persuade the government to grant middle class women the vote, and by the beginning of
the war in 1914 the Suffragists had over 53,000 supporters. This docile way of campaigning impressed
many men as it did not outstep the boundaries that women were restricted to throughout and just
following the Victorian times, however it showed that women were intelligent enough to organise a
campaign that grew a rather large support. They gained a lot of respect through this way of
campaigning with even the future Prime Minister David Lloyd George announcing his support for
them publicly. However, this way of campaigning could be argued as easily ignored as although the
Suffragists had gained some support from members of Parliament; there was no real political progress
towards women gaining the vote before 1914, despite them having been campaigning for almost
twenty years. Overall, the Suffragists played some part in women gaining the vote in 1918, as they
brought the issue to the attention of the government, however their campaign was far too submissive

Foucault s Assertion That One s Own
Written Response Most Persuasive Assertion Michel Foucault s assertion that one s own author
function can exceed their own work is a claim in which can be backed by an array of existing and
deceased author s. An agreeable claim, even though Foucault attempts to disassemble it later on in the
essay. Foucault initially states, One might say that it is not true that the author of a novel is only the
author of his own text; in a sense, he also, provided that he acquires some importance, governs and
commands more than that. To take a very simple example, one could say that Ann Radcliffe not only

And the authors are given credit for their contributions to the world of literature not only in founding
new genres but crafting new styles and expanding on existing genres/formats. The experimental
novels of Dorothy Richardson displayed what would eventually be coined by William James as the
stream of conscious narrative form. Religious mythologies around the world crafted the parable,
which would later get perfected in the form of Grimm s fairytales and Aesop s fables. The thread line
of the evolution of literature is there and can be followed to its main contributors. Contributors whose
work can easily be defined as something which exceeds their author function as Foucault states it.
Such a claim can be broadened out to any art form including that of music and art. Even more
contemporary style of storytelling in film and cinema had individuals whose work exceeded their
author intention and opened up the doors to new styles, genres, and avenues for aspiring artists to

signify the change in philosophical discussions which removed any form of a God like figure from

A Brief Note On The Economy Of Palau Essay
The economy of Palau has been dominated by the tourism, subsistence agriculture, and the fishing
industry . The Palauan government continues to be the country s largest employment provider with per

Foreign aid consist of around 20 percent of their GDP and finance about 50 percent of government

expected to be driven by the increase in tourist arrivals especially from China. But, the economy has
been facing the challenges of less facilities to accommodate the influx of tourists into their economy.
Therefore, revenues generated from their tourism industry are offset by the high importation of

Flat Management And Transparency Worked For Them Essay
This post is inpsired by a post I found recently on inc.com
I found this title to be very intriguing. So much so that I decided to do some research as to why Flat
management and transparency worked for them.
So Here is why!
Introduction
Flat management is an organizational structure which eliminates intermediate executive levels and
their functions. In this, the top most level of management is in directly intertwined with frontline
customers, employees on the floor and salespeople. Undeterred by their breath, flat management can
be benefited from various advantages for the customer like faster response times and also other
customer preferences.
From increased productivity to faster decision making, here are 5 compelling reasons as to why flat or
horizontal management could work for your company.
1. Focus on core Products:
With a flat management system there is more time to listen to your customers and their reviews on the
products. Thus giving you the feedback you need to refine your the product. With a Flat structure you
don t have to deal with the nitty gritties of Human Resources or any issues related to it. Departmental
meetings are also not required. Staff meetings, however, should be conducted at least once every week
so that you can have a clear status about the state of the business. In this meeting you get a good
opportunity to discuss on ideas and techniques offering customer service suggestions, content, new
product features etc.
It has been found that flat

The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System
The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of external
stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called receptors,
which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit an external
response, the nervous system uses effectors that can be either muscles or glands.
We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and
the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is
protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of connecting
the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part of the body to
another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used.
Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities.
The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The
second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between adjacent
cells.
Figure 1.1 Neuron structure. Source: http://webspace.ship.edu
Neurons are composed of a cell body called soma, dendrites and axon. There is a single axon while
there are multiple dendrites per each neuron. Dendrites are used to conduct the received signals to cell

Fossil Fuels As A Source Of Energy
Since the evolution of science, many people have become solely dependent on a variety of
technologies to supply their essential needs of life. A key technology that people have a high level of
dependency on is fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are a source of energy people use in their everyday life as a
way to get light, electricity, and to keep warm. Fossil fuels are perceived as a nuclear energy, which
has been around for decades. Initially, scientists perceived this type of energy as affordable and safe;
however, in the late 20th century, danger of nuclear plants began to threat regions of United States.
Due to the increase of global warning from the burning of fossil fuels, climate scientists and
environmental experts are considering ways to replace nuclear energy (Ferguson). Since the world
uses fossil fuels as a source of energy supply, it would be beneficial if the world considered using
alternatives means of energy sources once all the present energy has been used up. The world would
greatly benefit from these alternatives since the production of present energy is polluting America. Yet
with the world being greatly overpopulated and having insufficient supplies of resources, scientists all
across the nation are thinking of ways to replace fossil fuels with alternative energies. Therefore, the
purpose of this paper is to explicate alternatives people could use as a source of energy instead of

The Role Of The Blind Man In Flannery O Connor s Cathedral
In comparison, in Cathedral the narrator s lack of vulnerability at this point of the story is beginning to
be a problem, yet a beginning of a silver lining starts to show. From this point on forward in the story
Husband and wife and the blind man are settling down, having a little bit of small talk and enjoying
each other s company over some drinks. I remembered having read somewhere that the blind didn t
smoke because, as speculation had it, they couldn t see the smoke they exhaled (Guy)said the narrator,
he states that because Robert was smoking, this clashes preconceived notions about blind people.

Renewable Energy On The Uav
What the renewable energy is?
Renewable energy is energy or power that is created from natural resources such as wind power,
oceanic waves, and the sun. These resources can be used to replace other energy generators such as
electricity and gasoline.
The aim:
On this project aiming is to use renewable energy on the UAV , therefore, it will be able to fly for
longer distance without needs of landing for recharging or filled with fuel.
In addition to that, solar panels are the reasonable solution for that which we can categorize these
panels into:
Polycrystalline
Monocrystalline
Hybrid
All Black
These types of panels have different standard and verity of reducing energy, also they are hard panels
and heavy which could produce a great amount of energy and mostly are used for house usages
.However, Ececom Flexible panels give us this option to have a very lighter weight and great energy
to be used on the UAV. Table 1 shows the details of these panels:
Peak Power Pmax 130(Wp)
Open circuit voltage. Voc 20,32(V)
Short circuit current lsc 8,61(A)

Bacon s Rebellion Essay
In 1676, Nathaniel Bacon rebelled and held a revolt in Colonial Virginia. High taxes, low prices for
tobacco, and resentment against special privileges given those close to the governor, Sir William
Berkeley, provided the background for the uprising. These factors made the rebellion inevitable. All of
the chaos was precipitated by Governor Berkeley s failure to defend the frontier against attacks by
Native Americans. Bacon commanded two unauthorized but successful expeditions against the tribes
and was then elected to the new House of Burgesses, which Berkeley had been forced to convene.
Berkeley then sent out a warrant for his arrest and Bacon was put in jail. Bacon soon was released and
he immediately gathered his supporters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, closer to home, there were many problems caused by the crazy weather. The constantly
changing weather left the colony and colonists in chaos. Hailstorms, floods, dry spells, and hurricanes
rocked the colony during one year and had a damaging effect on the colonists. Inevitably, these
difficulties encouraged the colonists to find a scapegoat. They needed to find something to vent their
frustrations and place the blame for their misfortunes. With the immense frustration and anger among
the colonists, they began to scapegoat the local Indians. To ward off future attacks and to control the
situation, Governor Berkeley instigated the matter. He set up what was to be a disastrous meeting
between the parties, which resulted in the murders of several tribal chiefs. In the meantime, Berkeley
continually pleaded for restraint from the colonists. Some, including Nathaniel Bacon, refused to
listen. Bacon disregarded the Governor s direct orders by seizing some friendly Appomattox Indians
for stealing corn. Berkeley scolded him, which caused the disgruntled Virginians to wonder which
man had taken the right action. Significantly, Berkeley could not compromise earning resentment from
about 1,000 Virginians. They fiercely resented Governor Berkeley for his policies toward the Indians.
When Berkeley refused to retaliate for a series of savage Indians on frontier settlements after
monopolization of fur trade, the

Cormac Mccarthy Dystopian Essay
Year 11 ATAR English Task 5
Consider how McCarthy has created his post apocalyptic dystopia. In what ways has he used language
to create the mood of the story and how has he represented the relationship between the man and his
son?
Cormac McCarthy is a well known fictional author, especially well known for his dystopian novels
and his ability to lure readers into his books through his language and his depth of writing. His famous
novel The Road entices readers in through his well constructed post apocalyptic dystopian genre.
McCarthy cleverly uses language techniques such as third person and indirect free speech. The
relationship of the man and his son unveils the true meaning of love and the willingness to fight for
the survival of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This depressing state makes the reader understand the world of darkness they live in, indicating no
light or happiness lives there. The reader also understands that something horrible must have
happened to the world they live in. Darkness is commonly associated with death which can occur from
destruction through fire, civilisation collapsing and destruction of those by other humans. This
particular darkness in the reader s opinion can be associated with post apocalyptic events. The theme
of dystopian is defined in the novel through the unpleasant new world that our future is considered to
be bound to. Other techniques that have been used in McCarthy s novel include descriptive language.
Descriptive language has been included in the text to create a clearer image of the surrounding settings
of the novel. No sound but the wind in the bare and blackened trees. This indicates the new world the
novel is set in has been under some destruction. This destruction may have been caused possibly by a
nuclear war or some horrific event. McCarthy has successively been able to use the language feature
throughout his novel, in particular synonyms and descriptive language, to engage the reader and
convince them that the genre of the novel is post apocalyptic dystopia.
In Cormac McCarthy s novel The Road , the father and his son have a

How To Get Teens Off Drugs
Step one Create a community space for teenagers that offers healthy alternatives to drugs. Activities
would include art classes, drawing classes, yoga, weight lifting, martial arts and dance. These classes
will be run by younger mentors aged 18 25.

discuss their family lives, school problems, potential drug problems, sex and social issues.
Step three Create a community hot line where local teens can call in when they are in trouble with

to get home.

  • 2. Write An Essay About Dancing En Pointe The Point Behind the Pointe Nothing compares to that moment when a dance teacher gives permission for a dancer to purchase their first pair of pointe shoes. The excitement builds, through the first fitting, up until the first pointe class. There is an unseen evil lurking behind this happiness. Dancing en pointe is a dangerous business, at all times there is a risk of injury, even at the professional level, one misplaced pose, or one careless jump and their career is over. In regards to the beginner student, should they be placed en pointe too young or before they have sufficient strength, and technique, their career may be over before it begins. The majority of dancers are ready to begin dancing en pointe between the ages of ten and twelve, but occasionally, an exceptionally strong nine year old will be able to advance to the higher levels. The dancer must have a good work ethic and attitude towards their dance training, and dancing en pointe. Focus and dedication is required throughout classes. Their studio etiquette is a good signal for this; whether they come to class in the appropriate attire, whether they come prepared, whether they apply corrections, and finally whether they show correct and appropriate class behaviour . Instead, they go to their favorite coffee shop, order a drink and then throw away the cup once they are done. Many do not look for recycling bins, and almost all consumers do not think about where their garbage goes after they throw it away. A majority of consumers simply think their old coffee cups fill in a landfill, but what many do not know is that some people consume up to 11,000 pieces of plastic a year along with their seafood (Walsh, Formanek, Loo and Phillips). • 5. Aboriginal People Of Canada Aboriginal peoples of Canada have suffered exponentially throughout the entirety of history and proceed to do so in modern society. Much of the continued suffrage of aboriginal peoples is as a result of the Sixties Scoop and the Residential School System, as well as the lack of resources available to them. This has wreaked extensive havoc on the mental health of Aboriginal peoples, and has left excessive amounts of stigma and racism attached to Aboriginal Peoples, explicitly seen in the cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women. The effects that have been left on the aboriginal peoples by their experiences throughout history have had a profound effect on their quality of life. Many continue to experience immense struggle in the areas of mental health and addictions. The sixties scoop saw the removal of thousands of aboriginal children from their homes, leaving them without any of the traditions they had come to know. This led to a feeling of great confusion as to who they were, especially during some of the most crucial years of development. As is outlined in the story of one such child, Lynn Thompson, who stated in an interview with the Saskatchewan Sage, Like many of the children in my situation, I was abused, eventually ended up settled in a German Mennonite community in Manitoba, where I shot myself. I would have given anything to be in a residential school, to have other brown faces around. Further on in the interview, Lynn s experiences with substance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tartuffe is an imposter, who has no morals and only uses religion as a cover up for his vices and crimes. He pretends to be extremely pious, but his actions go entirely against the moral codes of his religion. In Act 3, Scene 2, when he sees Dorine, Tartuffe tells her, Cover that bust. The flesh is weak. Souls are forever damaged by such sights, When sinful thoughts begin their evil flights. (lines 8 10) Tartuffe preaches the importance of celibacy here. Like Molière, Voltaire attacks religious hypocrisy. However, unlike Tartuffe, which embodies religious hypocrisy in a single person, Candide focuses on the religious hypocrisy of entire religious organizations. Voltaire believes that the priesthood of the Catholic Church and the Jesuits, in particular, are especially hypocritical. The Chemical Solution Of M Hcl EXPERIMENTAL Part A of this experiment was essential because it set up the chemical solutions needed for Part B and C, as well as the equipment that was used throughout the entire experiment. To start, a 300mL solution of 2M HCl was prepared with the stock solution of 6M HCl. For this, 200mL of deionized water was collected and added it to a 400mL beaker. Then, 100mL of 6M HCl was added to the water. Next, 150mL of 2M NaOH was prepped by 50mL deionized water combined with 100mL 3M NaOH in another 400mL beaker. Before the experiment began, the LabQuest was plugged in and turned on. The temperature probe was then plugged into channel one of the LabQuest. In order to fully set up the LabQuest, the interval was changed to 15 s/sample. Part B was responsible for the reaction of hydrochloric acid and ammonium hydroxide. The first of three sub reactions were monitored when 2 Styrofoam cups were stacked together and placed in a 400mL beaker. The cups were filled with 50mL 2M HCl first while the initial temperature was recorded. After 3 or 4 readings, 2M NaOH was added in one smooth motion and stirred until the temperature reached a maximum or began to decrease. Once the data was collected, the mixture was disposed of and the equipment was rinsed and dried. Next, using the same method, the calorimeter was set up with 50mL 2M NaOH. • 9. High Dynamic Range Of A Digital Photography Technique 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is dened as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel, but the modern display devices have limited dynamic rage for displaying HDR image, so tone mapping technique have been used to solve this problem. Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range image that will be displayed on devices. The tone mapping operators can be classied into two categories: global operators and local operators. Global operators can be described as spatially uniform methods because the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR image. Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and preserve the intensity orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped images. Local operators, which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because mapping function processes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kendall and Kendall (2006, p.110) argue that an a question and answer format is used for information gathering interview which is a directed conversation with a specific purpose. In fact if we want to understand why we need to choose interview as a select technique, we need to find out what we can get from the interview. One thing that we can get from the interview is the opinions of the interviewee and his or her feelings about the system, organizational and personal goals, and informal procedures for interacting with information technologies. The truth is that opinions maybe more important and more revealing than facts. The mass of the bolide that impacted the Yucatan Peninsula would have been large enough to irritate the plates, and possibly catalyze their movements. Sedimentary processes and sea level fluctuations could have taken a huge turn, due to the fact that an unexpected large extraterrestrial body crashed into the Yucatan Peninsula. It is also suggested by geoscientists that a tsunami about 50 to 100 meters high hit the coast of Texas, which resulted in an unconformity near Brazos River, Texas. The two major end members of a turbidite are coarse grained to sand rich and then fine grained to mud rich. • 16. Solutions Focused Therapy ( Sfbt ) Solution Focused Essay Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT) Solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) places focus on a person s present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. In this goal oriented therapy, the symptoms or issues bringing a person to therapy are typically not targeted. Instead, a qualified therapist encourages those in treatment to develop a vision of the future and offers support as they determine the skills, resources, and abilities needed to achieve that vision successfully. History and Development of SFBT The need for an alternative approach to therapy was recognized as mental health practitioners began to observe the amount of energy, time, money, and other resources spent discussing and analyzing the challenges revealed during the therapy process, while the issues originally bringing an individual to therapy continued to have a negative impact. Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg of the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, along with their team, developed solution focused brief therapy in the early 1980s in response to this observation. We are shown that Marian is uncertain of the situation. The Representation of the People Act allowed women, over the age of 30, in Great Britain to vote for the first time in 1918. Previously, women had been viewed as uneducated and irrational, unable to make a decision on who to vote for themselves. Women had also been expected to stay at home, looking after children, cooking, and cleaning, for when their husbands returned. This docile way of campaigning impressed many men as it did not outstep the boundaries that women were restricted to throughout and just following the Victorian times, however it showed that women were intelligent enough to organise a campaign that grew a rather large support. They gained a lot of respect through this way of campaigning with even the future Prime Minister David Lloyd George announcing his support for them publicly. However, this way of campaigning could be argued as easily ignored as although the Suffragists had gained some support from members of Parliament; there was no real political progress towards women gaining the vote before 1914, despite them having been campaigning for almost twenty years. • 39. The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of external stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called receptors, which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit an external response, the nervous system uses effectors that can be either muscles or glands. We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of connecting the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part of the body to another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used. Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities. The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between adjacent cells. Figure 1.1 Neuron structure. • 41. Fossil Fuels As A Source Of Energy Since the evolution of science, many people have become solely dependent on a variety of technologies to supply their essential needs of life. A key technology that people have a high level of dependency on is fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are a source of energy people use in their everyday life as a way to get light, electricity, and to keep warm. With the immense frustration and anger among the colonists, they began to scapegoat the local Indians. To ward off future attacks and to control the situation, Governor Berkeley instigated the matter. He set up what was to be a disastrous meeting between the parties, which resulted in the murders of several tribal chiefs. In the meantime, Berkeley continually pleaded for restraint from the colonists. Some, including Nathaniel Bacon, refused to listen. Bacon disregarded the Governor s direct orders by seizing some friendly Appomattox Indians for stealing corn. Berkeley scolded him, which caused the disgruntled Virginians to wonder which man had taken the right action.
