Nellis Range Complex Case Study
Somewhere in the remote Nevada desert is a chunk of land some six miles wide north to south and ten
miles east to west. On that land is located a paradox: A secret base that everyone knows about.
Area 51 is a parcel of land in the Nellis Range Complex located about 30 miles south of the town of
Rachel, Nevada. In Area 51, near the dry bed of Groom Lake, is a test facility for military aircraft. It is
a base was so secret that even though it had been there over forty years it wasn t until 1994 that the
government confirmed that it existed.
At the border of Area 51 are no trespassing signs that warn that the use of deadly force is authorized.
On the public land outside the boundaries electronic sensors in the ground detect foot and vehicle ...

The SR 71 was designed totally in secret. With a top speed of over Mach 3 (three times the speed of
sound, more than 2,200 miles an hour) it was, and remains, the fastest aircraft ever built. It went into
service in the mid sixties and was only recently retired. During that entire time no SR 71 was ever
caught and shot down. Some speculate that the
Black Bird s successor is in test at Groom Lake right now.
Over that last decade Area 51 has also come to be associated with UFO s. There were stories that a
flying saucer, that allegedly crashed at Roswell, New Mexico, had been brought to the Nellis Complex
and was under study. This tale as further bolstered by the story of Bob Lazer.
In 1986 a gentleman named Bob Lazer went to the press. He claimed that he was a former government
physicist and had been assigned to work in a secret underground base, designated S4 , that was about
15 miles south of Groom Lake at a place called Papoose Lake. (This is just north of Yucca and
Frenchman
Lakes where above and below ground nuclear testing took place since the 1940s). According to Lazer

The Unwritten History of Cave Paintings Essay
Religious stories and scientific theories have tried for thousands of years to accurately date the
formation of man. However, in the 1860s, a new art was discovered that changed the view of human
creation forever. This new insight was cave painting. Cave painting is a form of prehistoric art that
dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Analysts are unable to specify the reasoning behind these
paintings of objects on cave walls, but many theories have been formulated to surmise the rational
behind the art. Questions arise like, why did man find a need to paint the walls of caves and is this part
of the foundation of the origin of human life as we know it? (Beacon) The ecumenical belief is rooted

The methods used to create have proven themselves more useful in dating the art than the work itself.
The natural objects used have withstood time better that the art. In the earlier times of the paintings,
fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time,
respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists
began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to
create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to
preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required
sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem
imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create
the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed
their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different
clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found,
people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after
finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to
have been over a thousand of

Copper Carbonate Lab Report
The reaction characteristics of basic copper carbonate 〖mCuCO〗_3⋅n〖Cu(OH)〗_2 were
observed by changing the reaction mole ratio. The reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate to copper
chloride (II) was controlled from 1.08 to 1.68. Fig. 1 shows the XRD patterns of copper carbonate
powder. At a reaction ratio of 1.08, paratacamite (Cu_2 Cl(OH)_3 ), beside alkali copper carbonate,
was formed because of incomplete reaction at a copper content of 53.9 wt%. Lack of sodium
carbonate may cause incomplete reaction with copper chloride (II) because of low pH (6.0) of the
solution [12]. The copper content according to the reaction mole ratio were 57.7, 50.5, 58.8, 59.3, and
59.8 wt% at the reaction mole ratios of 1.20, 1.32, 1.44, 1.56, and 1.68, respectively. ... Show more

The malachite basic copper carbonate formed as CuCO3 ⋅ Cu(OH)2 shows bright green, whereas that
of azurite formed as 2CuCO3 ⋅ Cu(OH)2 shows strong blue. In this study, most of the manufactured
copper carbonate was converted to malachite basic copper carbonate of bright green at the reaction
mole ratio of 1.20. In the case of low reaction ratio of sodium carbonate, m, the stoichiometric
coefficients of CuCO3, is higher than n, the stoichiometric coefficient of Cu(OH)2, so that the amount
of CuCO3 is generated is more than that of Cu(OH)2. With increasing reaction mole ratio of sodium
carbonate, m is lower than n so that the generation rate of CuCO_3 is lower than that of Cu〖(OH)〗
_2. Therefore, copper content increased with increasing sodium carbonate. With assumption of same
value of m and n, theoretical copper content becomes 57.5

All The Lies I ve Heard
Love. Of all the lies I ve heard, I love you was my favorite (Pinterest). Seems like everyone has their
own definition for the word. One thing is for sure though is that everybody wants to be loved but not
many people are good at it or even know what it is. But the question still remains what the hell is it?
Perhaps we should look at the biblical sense of the word where in 2 Corinthians 13 we find that, Love
is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it
is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. That s

Which is maybe just maybe before you take the leap into a relationship perhaps you should do what
Justin Bieber said and go Love Yourself.
Society has lead us to believe that you can not survive without a relationship and like I mentioned
before we find ourselves surrounded by society s perspective on just what exactly love is. With
technology making such major improvements we also see that technology has taken its toll on love. I
mean 92% of songs on the radio are about sex (Roach). Companies make billions of dollars selling
love. Valentine s day, the official Hallmark scam, in 2009 made 14.7 billion dollars (Roach) with the
average female spending only 72.28 and unfortunately for the males 135.35. Valentine s Day has
evolved into showing others up with the best schemes of romance, and raking in a profit for the
retailers. Perhaps it is time for business in the US and even globally to understand that you can t buy
love, or even attraction. Most commercials on TV are all about the same. If you buy this product that
does blah blah blah somehow someway you ll end up with a beautiful guy or girl around your arm.
Take for example Vaibhav Bedi who for 7 years bought perfumes, deodorants, the whole nine yards
from Axe to entice females. Why? Because like most commercials show in their advertisements he
believed that if he bought their products women would flock to him. Sadly Mr. Bedi is still as single as

Prefrontal Cortex Research Paper
The prefrontal cortex is the most anterior region of the frontal lobe. It occupies one third of the
cerebral cortex and is key for executive functions such as problem solving, working memory, and
emotional control. It is also crucial in decision making and the expression of personality. The
prefrontal cortex is imperative for efficient cognitive functioning; damage can result in severe
impairment to skills such as emotional regulation, moral behavior, and empathy. In addition, the
prefrontal cortex is a sub region of the frontal cortex; this includes the primary motor cortex and
premotor cortex in addition to the prefrontal cortex areas, which are located more anteriorly. The
prefrontal cortex itself can be divided into three sectors the

The time horizon also affects an investor s ability to accept risk. If an investor has a long time horizon,
the investor may have a greater ability to accept risk because he would have a longer time period to
recoup any losses. This is unlike an investor with a shorter time horizon whose ability to accept risk
may be lower because he would not have the ability to recoup any losses. 3. Tax Concerns After tax
returns are the returns investors are focused on when creating an investment portfolio. If an investor is
currently in a high tax bracket as a result of his income, it may be important to focus on investments
that would not make the investor s situation worse, like investing more heavily in tax deferred
investments. 4. Legal and Regulatory Legal and regulatory factors can act as an investment constraint
and must be considered. An example of this would occur in a trust. A trust could require that no more
than 10% of the trust be distributed each year. Legal and regulatory constraints such as this one often
can t be changed and must not be overlooked. 5. Unique Circumstances Any special needs or
constraints not recognized in any of the constraints listed above would fall in this category. An
example of a unique circumstance would be the constraint an investor might place on investing in any
company that is not socially responsible, such as a tobacco company. Expressing Investment

This will allow students to familiarize themselves with the racket grip, as well as gauging their own
ability to cover ground on the court. (4)
Section II Drive Shot
Skill Technique The drive is a shot hit hard at a horizontal angle, typically near the sideline of the
court, while the shuttlecock is about at the level of the player between the shoulder and the knees (5).
Keep racket arm up in front of the chest and spread weight evenly between the feet. In the forehand
drive, side step toward the shuttle, leading with your racket leg, pointing the racket toward the sideline
(2). Lock the wrist and draw the racket back in a sidearm motion. Then, put your weight on the racket
leg, swing the racket forward, and unlock and flick wrist when contacting the shuttle. If the
shuttlecock is on the side opposite of the racket, either switch racket hands, or crossover with the
racket side leg and drive it backhanded.
Learning cues Lead with racket leg and sidestep toward shuttle. Spread weight and swing sidearm.
Flick wrist on contact
Teaching Styles Have student get racket and shuttle cock, and face the wall, standing five feet back
from it. Draw a horizontal line across the wall about three feet up from the ground. Instruct students to
underhand serve the shuttle into the wall, making sure to strike the wall above the horizontal line, with
enough velocity for the shuttle to return close enough to the student to hit it again without needing to

Wild West Show History
Wild West shows were the amusement parks of our time. They were full of fun and entertainment.
These shows were also responsible for the images of the Wild West we think of today. In the book,
True Grit, Mattie hears that Rooster Cogburn is in a Wild West show. She goes to see the Cole
Younger and Frank James Wild West show and finds out that Rooster is dead. Wild West shows were
what shaped our idea of the Wild West, our ideas of fun, and the name cowboy.
Wild West Shows were a form of entertainment composed of scenes from the early, western United
States. They included many sorts of back territory feats. Some of them included horseback riding,
marksmanship or sharpshooting, and rope twirling ( wild west show ). They traveled all over the
United States to perform. They even went to show a performance to the Queen of England ( A Brief
History )! People mostly came for entertainment, excitement, and thrill ( Wild West Shows ).
Buffalo Bill was the one who created these shows. William F. Buffalo Bill Cody was born on February
26, 1846 in LeClaire, Iowa ( Buffalo Bill Cody ). At age eleven, he moved away from his family to
herd cattle and to work as a driver on a wagon train, a train of wagons and horses transporting

its bandits, indians, and cowboys, like we see in Hollywood movies today ( Buffalo Bill Cody ).
Buffalo Bill also was equal to people like cowboys, giving them the respect and dignity that others did
not ( A Brief History ). Buffalo Bill was a remarkable man who, through Wild West shows, changed

Blink-182 Character Traits
Some good character traits are being smart and talented. The reason for this is you have to be smart
with the music and words you use in the music. Also you have to have talent to be able to perform. I
believe Blink 182 has these character traits. Have the talents and the smarts. They have written the
most amazing music and have changed music history. They have put real problems into song. They
put the problems in a teen life in music. This band started with three guys who went through a lot.
Mark Hoppus was the bassist and vocalist. His parents got a divorce when he was in 3rd grade. In 5th

Hr Theories of Motivation

The companies leaders can improve their business by investing in development new products or
services, improvement product or service quality, and enhancement marketing and sales. Another
possible investment is improving the way a company manages its people tends to receive less
attention. Human Resource Management is very important for business as it involves a variety of
activities that deal with the human side of organisation (Griffiths and Wall, 2005). Armstrong claims
(1999) that HRM can be regarded as... a strategic and cohered approach to the management of an

McGregor believed that people want to learn and that work is their natural activity to the extent that
they develop self discipline and self development (Accel Team, 2008). They see their reward not so
much in cash payments as in the freedom to do difficult and challenging work by themselves (ibid).
The main job is to follow the human wish for self development into the organisations need for
maximum productive efficiency (ibid). The basic objectives of both are therefore met and with mind
and honesty, the enormous potential can be tapped.
NEED Theories
It is widely accepted that a good deal of motivation has its origins in certain basic needs. Need
theories particularly the works of Maslow, Alderfer and McClelland are based on the assumption that
basic wants or requirements govern much of people s behaviour. This notion has pervasive
implications for human resources policies and practices tend to develop the performance of a range of
human needs, the more likely it is that motivation and performance will be improved.
However, attention to needs must be balanced. To emphasize salary and benefits (in the fulfillment
basic needs) and to not expect high standards of performance (related to needs of esteem and, self
actualisation, and achievement) may be risky. On the other hand, to expect employees to increase to
performance and

The Necessity Of Radical Reconstruction After The Civil War
The necessity of Radical Reconstruction After the Civil War had ended a period of reconstruction was
in mind, but failed to succeed. President Andrew Johnson s principle was that the South never had a
right to succeed. He also believed that blacks should not have any role in the reconstruction. Johnson
appointed provisional governors and ordered them to call state conventions to establish new, all white
government. Radical Republicans believed that people of all skin color had the right to be equal. In
their opinion, blacks should have the same political opportunities as well as rights as whites. They
wanted to see the powers of national government expanded since they believed the war was fought for
equal rights. A Civil Rights Bill was passed on in 1966 which stated That all persons born in the

Social Bonding Theory
This paper is going to highlight the social bonding theory. Control theorist Travis Hirsch i s believes
the cause of delinquency is based on the idea that people have innate desire to commit crime (
Griswold, and , Roberts, Wiatrowski 1981) .basically no matter how much one prevent crime,
someone is bound to commit crime. According to social bond there are four factors that can determine
rather an individual is going to deviate from societal norm; Attachment, Commitment, Involvement,
and Belief (Grisworld et. al 1981). Example of the social bonds Attachment family, commitment
school councils and the goals to pursue higher education. Involvement dance, afterschool programs,
and camps the involvement in different activities to keep busy. Belief Religiosity, active in church
groups, attends church frequently (Grisworld et. al 1981). Critiques The objective is to critique the
short comings of Social bonding theory. Also illustrate additional factor that explain why an individual
is likely to commit crime. Also highlight preventive measures why individual is less likely to commit
crime or violate the norms. The problem that lies with the social bond theory that it does not apply to
all races. The studies only focuses males whereas should include analysis female as well (Heimer
Matsueda 1987).because males are not the only one that commits crime. This theory does not have
preventive measures to prevent crime from occurring. This theory does not highlight the

Draft And Outline Of David Suzuki s The Pain Of Animals
The Pain of Animals Draft and Outline
The Pain of Animals is an article written by David Suzuki and published in 1989. The writer discusses
that humans are using other species for their benefits and causing them pain by scientific experiments
as well as by pleasure purposes. This results in the extinction of many species and disrupts the
ecosystem. Moreover, David Suzuki s main point throughout this article is to explain and convince
readers that animals have body systems similar to humans and they also feel fear and pain. In addition,
he discusses that it is unethical to cause pain in animals for humans own benefits.
Suzuki s main thesis of this article is a discussion about the similarities between human rights and
animal rights. He also focuses on animals used for research due to their similarities such as their
bodies, responses, and nervous system with humans. In addition, humans use them for pleasure which
cause them fear and pain that is unethical. Suzuki has persuaded readers by connecting his childhood
experience of hunting and fishing as well as moments he realized that it is painful for the animals.
Specifically, the description about the holes in the fish s mouth and the pain and fear from it in the fish
is very touching to the readers.
Moreover, Suzuki made an effective discussion by talking about animal s life after being tested if they
survive. He made readers to think and feel about the pain of animals by his emotional questions, What
gives us the right to exploit other living organisms as we see fit? How do we know that these other
creatures don t feel pain or anguish just as we do? Perhaps there s no problem with fruit flies, but
where do we draw the line? (Suzuki, 1989, p.681). Suzuki s main purpose is to convince the audience
that animals feel pain and it is unethical to make animals suffer from pain for our benefits. Suzuki
suggests that it is not wise to use animals for research as well as for our pleasure to the extent that
results in extinction.
Suzuki mentioned in his article about medical research and experiments of Jane Goodall using
chimpanzees greatly affect the population of chimpanzees. Furthermore, human moves animals from
their homes and lands to zoos for education and

The War Of Abraham Lincoln
The 1860 s was a time when the world was facing one of the bloodiest war in history. One of the
reasons for the war was the election of Abraham Lincoln. South Caroline issued the Declaration of the
Causes of Secession because they believed Lincoln was anti slaver (Bartels). However during the most
consequential period in American history, on November 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected as the
sixteenth president of the United States and the first Republican President. As the commander in chief
the union army, Lincoln needed to bring an end to the war and reunite the nation. On November 19,
1863 Abraham Lincoln gave one of the most inspirational wartime speeches at the Gettysburg
National Cemetery. The Gettysburg Address evoked a sense of unity into the American citizens and
human equality, which was greatly needed at that time. Lincoln s prerogative was to acknowledge the
values our founding fathers had, honor the human sacrifices and remind the citizen of the optimistic
purpose of war.
Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in humble surroundings, a one room log cabin with
dirt floors in Kentucky. Coming from a farmer family Lincoln had no access to a formal education, so
he self educated himself from the basics of English to the complicated language of law. Eventually he
became a self taught Illinois lawyer and a great speaker. Lincoln s family didn t believe in the idea of
slavery so he too grew up finding it frightful (History.com). However being the smart guy

Ford Motor Company Case Analysis Essay
Throughout the late twentieth century, the Ford Motor Company received numerous complaints
regarding incidents involving their vehicles. Consumers of Ford vehicles reported that at least one of
their tires spontaneous blew out while driving at highway speeds; more often than not, these accidents
resulted in the driver losing control and rolling the vehicle, causing injury or death. After numerous
lawsuits, lawyers began to notice a trend. Through multiple clients, they observed the majority of
incidents involved Firestone tires on light Ford trucks, particularly the Ford Explorer. From the
inception of the Ford Motor Company, Firestone Tires had been a primary supplier of original
equipment for Ford vehicles. In the earlier 1990s, the company became the sole supplier of original
equipment for light duty Ford Trucks. The Ford Explorer became the number one selling sport utility
vehicle in the USA, meaning millions of potentially defective Firestone tires were out on the
highways. Outside investigations found numerous issues with the Firestone Tires. One of the root
issues began with the trucks rolling off of the Ford assembly lines. Their tires would be underinflated
to only twenty six psi, rather than thirty psi, as recommended by Firestone. The tires pressures will
naturally decrease over time, thus causing the tires to become dangerously low on air. As the tires
deflate, more rubber makes contact with the road, increasing the amount of friction between surfaces.

Forecasting Techniques For Planning Purposes
Forecasting Techniques for Planning Purposes All organizations that supply goods or services to
another business or consumer look at demand forecasting for planning purposes. Young (2010) stated
for most organizations, the marketing department will forecast the demand for both the short and long
term planning and the operations department will work closely to set a production forecast based on
these demands. When forecasting, organizations must take into consideration all the possible factors
that will affect the supply/demand. These factors include trends, seasonality, competitive pricing,
sudden changes in demand, economic conditions, labor and strikes, and more. In today s business
world, forecasting is not just a necessity, but also a means of survival, which is why predicting the
future, is so important for the short and long term success of an organization. As the northeast vice
president of operations for McDonalds, I have the complex and challenging role of ensuring accurate
forecast are submitted for the internal and external demand for our products. In this paper, I will
describe the demand techniques used for both my short term and long term planning and why these
techniques are most affective. Additionally, I will explain what decisions each forecast supports.
Finally, I will detail which departments need my forecast information and why.
Demand Forecast Techniques There are two different types of inventory demand, independent and

Summary Of What Does China Think
In the beginning of a book, What Does China Think? by Mark Leonard, introduces the China s rise as
an exceptional and remarkable event in the history that is even considered to be more significant than
9/11 terrorism or Iraq War. Afterward, the author mentions how China affected the world within the
economical perspective; for example, half of the entire world product is labeled Made in China.
Besides focusing on the scale, the author brings us into deeper inquiry about China s rise: How China
s rise will affect the world? Will China keep rising?
The author s analytic opinion begins with a story when he visited the Chinese Academy of Social
Science in Beijing. His purpose was originally merely visiting and exploring the academy; however, ...

The story was about the elders who argued that their horses were better than the zebras, but they found
out that zebras were actually better so that they accepted to embrace. However, the problem was
changing the villagers who were accustomed with the horses. Therefore, the elders painted black

An Independent Affair in Ayn Rand’s Novel, The Fountainhead
Love is never the same way twice. However, one particularly unusual case is the relationship between
Dominique Francon and Howard Roark in Ayn Rand s novel, The Fountainhead. It is a relationship
characterized by destruction and dominance. Roark is an architect who refuses to follow the rules of
architecture. Dominique, an independent, rich newspaperwoman, does everything in her power to
destroy his career. Despite this, it is clear that they love each other, and have a connection and
understanding that would be impossible for most. Dominique s campaign against Howard is largely
for his own good, and is motivated by her lack of experience with happiness, as well as the fact that
her love is, by nature, destructive. It is easy to see how Dominique might feel that Howard is better off
being unsuccessful. His work goes against every idea society has at the time, and as such, people
rarely understand or appreciate it. When explaining why she left him, Dominique says, she had run
from the dread of seeing him hurt by the world (Rand 613). She believes he has no chance to succeed
when the public opinion is so consistently inconsistent with true talent. The people of the world will
do everything to tear down an independent man like Roark, and she knows it. She recognizes his
genius, and knows how much it will pain her to see the far inferior society mocking it. By ensuring
that Peter Keating, a mediocre architect who does everything society expects, gets most of Howard s

Understanding Other People s Religious Beliefs
Understanding other peoples religious beliefs in addition to our own is essential to tolerance because
one s faith often define who they are. I fully agree that all religions lead to one truth, the Absolute
truth. There is One truth. There is only one Goal, but there are various paths. Each religion is right in
its own way. (Sri Chinmoy) It is the willingness to cooperate with individuals of different faiths,
different customs and of different beliefs who you do not agree with without prejudice.
In the United States like in many other countries, the concept of religion in relation to acceptance,
freedom and understanding is fundamentally a part of our culture as a whole. Federalists, James
Madison and Alexander Hamilton, drafted the Bills of Rights to the U.S. Constitution in response to
the anti Federalists such as Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry distrust in the idea of trusting
Congress with our God given or natural rights of the people. Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
Government for a redress of grievances. (Constitution) and although, over the years since the
ratification of the Constitution, these rights have been twisted and turned to properly fit the social
standards of the years by the authority, their basis remain an essential part of the underlying

How Water Quality Is Important For The Health Of The...
Water quality is important to consider for streams, especially in an urban setting. It is important to
understand water quality not only for the health of the ecosystem, but also for humans who drink the
water and use the water for recreational purposes. In the city, it is difficult to maintain adequate water
quality standards because of factors like excessive pollutants from road runoff, sediments, nutrients,
and organic waste. The water levels are often sporadic and will vary by land use such as a parking lot
versus a park. A way to combat this problem is to manage or restore the riparian zone by adding
vegetation, encouraging infiltration, and reducing runoff rates. Five sites in Austin, Texas were
sampled, assessed, and analyzed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Colorado River
The Colorado River had the highest water quality of all tested sites. The dissolved oxygen at this site
was 8.92 mg/L and could be attributed to a number of different reasons (Table 1). The sample was
taken when the sun was high and water dwelling plants had been photosynthesizing for a number of
hours. The water was flowing fairly quickly and there was a small riffle at the area where the reading
was taken which could have increased dissolved oxygen of the water. The river had a rocky gravel
bottom which provided plenty of habitat for the macroinvertebrates that reside in the river. The variety
of macroinvertebrates that were found were indicators of high water quality; species included
caddisflies, mayflies, stoneflies, and dragonfly larvae. The macroinvertebrates were all very large
specimens, indicating a healthy environment and plenty of resources to support their growth.
The site examined was downstream of the Hornsby Bend Biosolids Plant. The high water quality at
the Colorado River site could be partially attributed to the Plant s ability to sanitize and reuse wastes
and prevent contamination through leakages of unclean water. The water at the Colorado River site
was cool despite only mediocre tree cover. The flow was quick in thinner parts of the river and slowed
when it widened out, giving

The Establishment Of The European Union ( Eu )
How significant has been the development of the EU s policies concerning the protection of the
natural environmental and climate change? What problems have confronted policy makers in framing
and delivering such policies?
Introduction
The establishment of the European Union (EU) enabled them to handle transnational activities among
the member states, including environmental policy. Its significance situates within its powers which
can manage any other organisations among the member states by virtue of the laws within the
European Union (Baker, 1996, p.215). As a result, it is broadly perceived that there is an increasing
impact from the EU on policy making in the member states. This tendency is particularly recognised
in environmental policy makings, because national standards in law needed to be questioned and
harmonised and policy developments at the European level influences the national aims, content and
settings of environmental policy within the member states (Heinelt et al., 2001). The area of
environmental policy was not established until the first Environmental Action Programme in 1973 as
the major aim for the European Economic Community s agenda was to build a common institutional
framework for mostly economic issues (Jorgensen, 2012). In the next decades, the development of the
area of environmental policy making was accelerated by the the Single European Act and by the
support from the public who tends to have an increasing concern towards environmental

The Catholic Church And The Teachings About The Nature Of God
The Catholic Church s Response to the Heretical Teachings about the Nature of God.
One of the major topics of discussion in the early church was about the nature of God. Some people
questioned the oneness of God and did not believe that there is one essence in all three persons of
God. Some other people did not believe that there are three persons of God. The major heresies all fit
on a scale between two opposites. These opposites consist of Monarchianism and Tritheism. The
heresies eventually led the church to establish the doctrine of Trinity in the Council of Nicaea held in
the year 325 A.D. Even though the heresies between the two extremes were appealing, the Catholic
Church rejects them and teaches the doctrine of Trinity.
On the end of one extreme is Monarchianism. Monarchianism developed as an attempt to maintain
monotheism and refute Tritheism . . Monarchianism expands on monotheism; however, it exaggerates
the oneness of God. Monarchianism teaches the idea that God is just one person. There are two sorts
of Monarchianism. The two types of Monarchianism consist of modalistic Monarchianism and
dynamic Monarchianism. Modalistic Monarchianism is the belief that the one unique God manifests
Himself in three different modes or stages . Modalistic monarchianists believed that the one person of
God was simply the one that is described as the Father in the trinity. Modalistic monarchianists also
believed God appeared as the Son and the Holy Spirit whenever it fitted for

Summary Of Christopher Nolan s Evacuation Of Dunkirk
Q. In what ways do Christopher Nolan and ________ develop the idea of causality of war in Dunkirk
and Evacuation of Dunquecue, respectively?
Within Christopher Nolan s Film Dunkirk and _______ s poem Evacuation of Dunkirk both authors
explore the causality of war. Both texts are set in the same situation and both explore the different
aspects of the evacuation of Dunkirk from two similar but different sources. They both develop the
themes of isolation, honour and hope. Specifically, Nolan uses his filmmaking style to its essence,
resulting in scenes of simple but immensely charged visual momentum. Whilst ______ s poem
connects to the reader on an emotional level, almost giving the reader a perspective of what it was like
to be a part of the historical event.
Christopher Nolan, throughout the course of his film uses a range muted colours as well as bluish
tones in order to reflect the water and the heavy machinery. Nolan uses a range of camera techniques
including close ups, mid range, long shots as well as the most obvious overhead shots. Nolan uses
these overhead shots multiple times but especially of the soldiers distributed across a beach convey
and unnerving isolation, as it these were there last times on earth as they look as if they are alone and
deserted. Another example of how Nolan s cinematography successfully depicts the evacuation of
Dunkirk is when soldiers are found waiting for the tide in an abandoned boat. In this scene, the

Issue 2: The fact that no one is tracking where the work is and who is supposed to be working on what

efficient and everything seems to land on their desk while others may be receiving credit for work

fair and equal work between team members so they should break down the work prior to initiating any

like that can also lead to it getting misplaced. They should use a flow chart to track where the work is.

Essay On John Bailnes
During pre historic Egypt scholars have no hieroglyphics. The information of Egypt during this era is
based on artifacts that show an image that can shed light on pre historic Egypt. This unique era is
explained well by John Baines. Baines uses Egyptian works of art and types of artifacts to construct an
image of the elite family views on the world in and around Egypt. He specifically looks at art from the
Naqada III Period and Dynasty 0. Palettes, knives, and mace heads are the artifact types that Baines
focuses on. Images on these art works can help scholars understand the world view of early Egypt.
Many of the early palettes, knives, and mace heads are found in Egyptian tombs. Palettes, knives and
mace heads of the later pre historic Egypt were discovered in temples. The first artifacts Baines
mentions is a group of ivories found in the Main Deposit of Hierakonpolis. The most important ivory
is a knife handle, which Baines believes is early evidence for the notion of Ma at in Egyptian society.
Ma at is the Egyptian Goddess of order. The ideology of balance or order can be seen in Egyptian
iconography for thousands of years. Next Baines discusses about many Egyptian palettes. These

the cocoa tree around 1000 B.C. for the very first time. Cocoa was considered divine in origin, and
that established its importance in the world of the Maya. In the Mayan and Aztec cultures, cocoa and
its preparation were presented greatly. The classic preparation of cocoa involved harvesting the beans,

to diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases in the year 2000 (Chesson). The sole purpose of
this is not to persuade you one way or the other on this topic. Nor is the purpose to apologize for this
social issue. The purpose of this writing is to employ data showing the societal effects parental
addictions have on children, to show how this data has remained relevant in society, and to show how
it is affecting our future members of society.
In this paper, I look at forms of substance abuse and the effects on children. I will be using the
following headings to break down the different issues associated with this social problem: social
causes, phenomenon, and consequences. I hope to educate those that may be ignorant to the situation,
and help to spark a flame that can be used to not be a bystander, but a solution to the problem at hand.
Social Causes
An estimated twenty five percent of youth under eighteen are exposed to familial alcohol abuse
(Bellum). The Illinois Department of Human Services says that nearly six hundred seventy five
thousand children per year suffer serious abuse or neglect as a direct result of substance abuse (
Children ). What makes this a big problem in society?

The Harsh Times Of The 1890 S
During the harsh times of the 1890 s, the Newsboys were under severe oppression in the working
place. This would change when they publicly challenged the authority of the corporate operation,
ultimately leading to a shift in New York civil disputes and eventually helping to engulf the unfair
working laws that were presented. This will and would lead the change of many civil minds and spark
more impactful rebellions down the road. Up to this point a multitude of people were oppressed in
many ways, varying from race, to belief(s), and in the work force. The time in which these series of
strikes took place were up to the evolutionary pre nineteen hundreds. Specifically the 1890 s.
Differing from these many others, the Newsboys (Newsies) of ... Show more content on

This is the reasoning behind the start of the Newsboys Strikes.
The date was July 21st, 1899, and the fed up employees of the money hungry corporate news
companies had had enough. They unified under the strength of Kid Blink . Throughout the city you
could hear the chants of those who seeked a change in political and price changes. After much
hassling and bullying from the rich, the determined boy s reflected the shame that they were so often
tied together with. When asked what truly sparked the rebellion of the strike, an interviewer got the
direct response in this form.
What will you strike for? The interviewer asked, as the messenger boy replied, For a raise from 3.50
cents what we get now to four dollars a week and pay for overtime. They make us pay thirteen dollars
for a uniform, and one dollar for a hat , and 2.50 for rubber boots, and two dollars for a rubber coat...I
only made 65 cents my first week. Not only were the uniforms expensive by nature, but the the final
blow in a sorts was that Pulitzer and Hearst raised the price from 50 cents per one hundred bundles, to
60 cents where some even claim it was higher, up to 70 cents per bundle.

Information Technology And The World Wide Web Creating New...
1. Are information technology and the World Wide Web creating new bases for power and
domination?
There are various levels of domination that are associated with technology. For instance, employers
can use this to create businesses opportunities that span the world. Jobs can be outsourced allowing for
one nation to profit without paying or supplying their workers with fair wages or safe work
environment according to their federal guidelines. They can profit off cheap labor and unethical
standards without repercussions at the same time workers are being controlled by their employers and
can be overseen in a more rigorous way to regulate and ensure productivity. There is also the issue of
accessibility many employers can infringe on the privacy of their employees. In addition, development
in technology have allowed contemporary corporations to expand their monitoring power and control
over their employees page 107 Social Inequality. The use of cellphone and computers can enable
employers to have access to workers beyond the workplace. Technology has broken down the
traditional divide between work and home, the public and the private spheres (pg. 107 Social
Inequality).
Is it the corporate rich who will claim these bases or are new, powerful groups being created by these
technological developments?
Power relationships are shaped by people s mental biases and beliefs about individuals in other groups
(pg. 108 Social Inequality). Despite the creation of new groups,

Chipotle Mexican Grill Incident
Chipotle Mexican Grill Incorporated has always had a great reputation for being an inexpensive, high
quality, fast food chain. That reputation suddenly diminished when the company had to close 43
restaurants in Oregon and Washington State towards the end of 2015. An E.coli outbreak had emerged
at six restaurants in that region, and soon afterwards the same was reported in seven other states.
Health officials cited a particular restaurant at Boston College for improper handling of poultry and
the presence of a sick employee after 80 students had become ill after eating there. The cause was a
common virus, norovirus. After instances of contaminated food, Chipotle was being thoroughly
questioned about their pledge for serving food with integrity. ... Show more content on

The unit volumes were $2.5 million before the infestation, and they shrunk to $1.8 million. Average
volumes are not expected to increase until 2020. (Little). Surprisingly, new stores are performing the
worst. The brand s reputation took a hit and people still think about the viral and bacteria crises when
they hear the name Chipotle. The company alone has even brought down the percentage of restaurant
same store sales. The stock itself had decreased by 42 percentage points a year later and the company
s recovery has been at a much slower rate than other companies due to their original pledges about
their food which led to many questions. (Little). The company is continuing to rise back up slowly, but
their communication skills certainly have not helped the process. If they took a different approach and
communicated their plans to the public more efficiently, the current numbers may not have been so
low and they maybe have earned trust back from more of the clientele. Most recently on April 11th,
2019, in efforts to raise its profits, Chipotle had raised its prices in 440 restaurants, which is 20 percent
of the total of 2,200 locations. (Patton). This was the first time it has done so since the crisis. Those
restaurants bumped up prices by five percent. (Patton). Chipotle spokesman, Chris Arnold, claimed the
reason for increasing prices was because of food inflation and due to the quality of products they use.
That move especially does not help Chipotle in winning back their customers.

On that land is located a paradox: A secret base that everyone knows about. Area 51 is a parcel of land in the Nellis Range Complex located about 30 miles south of the town of Rachel, Nevada. In Area 51, near the dry bed of Groom Lake, is a test facility for military aircraft. It is a base was so secret that even though it had been there over forty years it wasn t until 1994 that the government confirmed that it existed. • 3. The Unwritten History of Cave Paintings Essay Religious stories and scientific theories have tried for thousands of years to accurately date the formation of man. However, in the 1860s, a new art was discovered that changed the view of human creation forever. This new insight was cave painting. Cave painting is a form of prehistoric art that dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Analysts are unable to specify the reasoning behind these paintings of objects on cave walls, but many theories have been formulated to surmise the rational behind the art. Questions arise like, why did man find a need to paint the walls of caves and is this part of the foundation of the origin of human life as we know it? (Beacon) The ecumenical belief is rooted at history, cave paintings are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The methods used to create have proven themselves more useful in dating the art than the work itself. The natural objects used have withstood time better that the art. In the earlier times of the paintings, fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time, respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found, people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to have been over a thousand of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate to copper chloride (II) was controlled from 1.08 to 1.68. Fig. 1 shows the XRD patterns of copper carbonate powder. At a reaction ratio of 1.08, paratacamite (Cu_2 Cl(OH)_3 ), beside alkali copper carbonate, was formed because of incomplete reaction at a copper content of 53.9 wt%. In the case of low reaction ratio of sodium carbonate, m, the stoichiometric coefficients of CuCO3, is higher than n, the stoichiometric coefficient of Cu(OH)2, so that the amount of CuCO3 is generated is more than that of Cu(OH)2. With increasing reaction mole ratio of sodium carbonate, m is lower than n so that the generation rate of CuCO_3 is lower than that of Cu〖(OH)〗 _2. • 15. Draft And Outline Of David Suzuki s The Pain Of Animals The Pain of Animals Draft and Outline The Pain of Animals is an article written by David Suzuki and published in 1989. The writer discusses that humans are using other species for their benefits and causing them pain by scientific experiments as well as by pleasure purposes. This results in the extinction of many species and disrupts the ecosystem. Moreover, David Suzuki s main point throughout this article is to explain and convince readers that animals have body systems similar to humans and they also feel fear and pain. In addition, he discusses that it is unethical to cause pain in animals for humans own benefits. Suzuki s main thesis of this article is a discussion about the similarities between human rights and animal rights. He also focuses on animals used for research due to their similarities such as their bodies, responses, and nervous system with humans. In addition, humans use them for pleasure which cause them fear and pain that is unethical. Suzuki has persuaded readers by connecting his childhood experience of hunting and fishing as well as moments he realized that it is painful for the animals. Specifically, the description about the holes in the fish s mouth and the pain and fear from it in the fish is very touching to the readers. Moreover, Suzuki made an effective discussion by talking about animal s life after being tested if they survive. He made readers to think and feel about the pain of animals by his emotional questions, What gives us the right to exploit other living organisms as we see fit? How do we know that these other creatures don t feel pain or anguish just as we do? Perhaps there s no problem with fruit flies, but where do we draw the line? (Suzuki, 1989, p.681). Suzuki s main purpose is to convince the audience that animals feel pain and it is unethical to make animals suffer from pain for our benefits. Suzuki suggests that it is not wise to use animals for research as well as for our pleasure to the extent that results in extinction. Suzuki mentioned in his article about medical research and experiments of Jane Goodall using chimpanzees greatly affect the population of chimpanzees. South Caroline issued the Declaration of the Causes of Secession because they believed Lincoln was anti slaver (Bartels). However during the most consequential period in American history, on November 1860 Abraham Lincoln was elected as the sixteenth president of the United States and the first Republican President. As the commander in chief the union army, Lincoln needed to bring an end to the war and reunite the nation. On November 19, 1863 Abraham Lincoln gave one of the most inspirational wartime speeches at the Gettysburg National Cemetery. The Gettysburg Address evoked a sense of unity into the American citizens and human equality, which was greatly needed at that time. Lincoln s prerogative was to acknowledge the values our founding fathers had, honor the human sacrifices and remind the citizen of the optimistic purpose of war. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, in humble surroundings, a one room log cabin with dirt floors in Kentucky. Coming from a farmer family Lincoln had no access to a formal education, so he self educated himself from the basics of English to the complicated language of law. • 20. Ford Motor Company Case Analysis Essay Throughout the late twentieth century, the Ford Motor Company received numerous complaints regarding incidents involving their vehicles. Consumers of Ford vehicles reported that at least one of their tires spontaneous blew out while driving at highway speeds; more often than not, these accidents resulted in the driver losing control and rolling the vehicle, causing injury or death. After numerous lawsuits, lawyers began to notice a trend. Through multiple clients, they observed the majority of incidents involved Firestone tires on light Ford trucks, particularly the Ford Explorer. From the inception of the Ford Motor Company, Firestone Tires had been a primary supplier of original equipment for Ford vehicles. In the earlier 1990s, the company became the sole supplier of original equipment for light duty Ford Trucks. The Ford Explorer became the number one selling sport utility vehicle in the USA, meaning millions of potentially defective Firestone tires were out on the highways. Outside investigations found numerous issues with the Firestone Tires. One of the root issues began with the trucks rolling off of the Ford assembly lines. Their tires would be underinflated to only twenty six psi, rather than thirty psi, as recommended by Firestone. The tires pressures will naturally decrease over time, thus causing the tires to become dangerously low on air. As the tires deflate, more rubber makes contact with the road, increasing the amount of friction between surfaces. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Forecasting Techniques For Planning Purposes Forecasting Techniques for Planning Purposes All organizations that supply goods or services to another business or consumer look at demand forecasting for planning purposes. Young (2010) stated for most organizations, the marketing department will forecast the demand for both the short and long term planning and the operations department will work closely to set a production forecast based on these demands. These factors include trends, seasonality, competitive pricing, sudden changes in demand, economic conditions, labor and strikes, and more. However, one particularly unusual case is the relationship between Dominique Francon and Howard Roark in Ayn Rand s novel, The Fountainhead. It is a relationship characterized by destruction and dominance. Roark is an architect who refuses to follow the rules of architecture. Dominique, an independent, rich newspaperwoman, does everything in her power to destroy his career. Despite this, it is clear that they love each other, and have a connection and understanding that would be impossible for most. Dominique s campaign against Howard is largely for his own good, and is motivated by her lack of experience with happiness, as well as the fact that her love is, by nature, destructive. It is easy to see how Dominique might feel that Howard is better off being unsuccessful. His work goes against every idea society has at the time, and as such, people rarely understand or appreciate it. When explaining why she left him, Dominique says, she had run from the dread of seeing him hurt by the world (Rand 613). She believes he has no chance to succeed when the public opinion is so consistently inconsistent with true talent. The people of the world will do everything to tear down an independent man like Roark, and she knows it. It is important to understand water quality not only for the health of the ecosystem, but also for humans who drink the water and use the water for recreational purposes. In the city, it is difficult to maintain adequate water quality standards because of factors like excessive pollutants from road runoff, sediments, nutrients, and organic waste. The water levels are often sporadic and will vary by land use such as a parking lot versus a park. If the site was not successful or had moderate success, future steps were suggested in order for the restoration to be effective. The Colorado River The Colorado River had the highest water quality of all tested sites. The dissolved oxygen at this site was 8.92 mg/L and could be attributed to a number of different reasons (Table 1). The sample was taken when the sun was high and water dwelling plants had been photosynthesizing for a number of hours. The water was flowing fairly quickly and there was a small riffle at the area where the reading was taken which could have increased dissolved oxygen of the water. The river had a rocky gravel bottom which provided plenty of habitat for the macroinvertebrates that reside in the river. The variety of macroinvertebrates that were found were indicators of high water quality; species included caddisflies, mayflies, stoneflies, and dragonfly larvae. The macroinvertebrates were all very large specimens, indicating a healthy environment and plenty of resources to support their growth. The site examined was downstream of the Hornsby Bend Biosolids Plant. The high water quality at the Colorado River site could be partially attributed to the Plant s ability to sanitize and reuse wastes and prevent contamination through leakages of unclean water. • 30. The Establishment Of The European Union ( Eu ) How significant has been the development of the EU s policies concerning the protection of the natural environmental and climate change? What problems have confronted policy makers in framing and delivering such policies? Introduction The establishment of the European Union (EU) enabled them to handle transnational activities among the member states, including environmental policy. Its significance situates within its powers which can manage any other organisations among the member states by virtue of the laws within the European Union (Baker, 1996, p.215). As a result, it is broadly perceived that there is an increasing impact from the EU on policy making in the member states. This tendency is particularly recognised in environmental policy makings, because national standards in law needed to be questioned and harmonised and policy developments at the European level influences the national aims, content and settings of environmental policy within the member states (Heinelt et al., 2001). The area of environmental policy was not established until the first Environmental Action Programme in 1973 as the major aim for the European Economic Community s agenda was to build a common institutional framework for mostly economic issues (Jorgensen, 2012). In the next decades, the development of the area of environmental policy making was accelerated by the the Single European Act and by the support from the public who tends to have an increasing concern towards environmental ... One of the major topics of discussion in the early church was about the nature of God. Some people questioned the oneness of God and did not believe that there is one essence in all three persons of God. Some other people did not believe that there are three persons of God. The major heresies all fit on a scale between two opposites. These opposites consist of Monarchianism and Tritheism. The heresies eventually led the church to establish the doctrine of Trinity in the Council of Nicaea held in the year 325 A.D. Even though the heresies between the two extremes were appealing, the Catholic Church rejects them and teaches the doctrine of Trinity. On the end of one extreme is Monarchianism. Monarchianism developed as an attempt to maintain monotheism and refute Tritheism . . Monarchianism expands on monotheism; however, it exaggerates the oneness of God. Monarchianism teaches the idea that God is just one person. There are two sorts of Monarchianism. The two types of Monarchianism consist of modalistic Monarchianism and dynamic Monarchianism. Modalistic Monarchianism is the belief that the one unique God manifests Himself in three different modes or stages . • 43. Chipotle Mexican Grill Incident Chipotle Mexican Grill Incorporated has always had a great reputation for being an inexpensive, high quality, fast food chain. That reputation suddenly diminished when the company had to close 43 restaurants in Oregon and Washington State towards the end of 2015. This was the first time it has done so since the crisis. Those restaurants bumped up prices by five percent. (Patton). Chipotle spokesman, Chris Arnold, claimed the reason for increasing prices was because of food inflation and due to the quality of products they use. That move especially does not help Chipotle in winning back their customers. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
