The Origin Of The Clarinet In The 1600 s
The origination of the clarinet began in the 1600 s. It was an improved version of the Chalumeau
the first narrow reed instrument. The difference between the two instruments was that, the clarinet
now had two extra keys, and it contained a higher range by over two octaves! He also invented a
better mouthpiece, and a slightly improved bell. 1690, the clarinetwas created. It is known to be a
single reed woodwind instrument with a cylindrical tube . All the credit for this creation goes to
Johann Christopher Denver and his son Jacob Denver. Nuremberg, Germany was the location
where the clarinet was made. Even though the Clarinet came to existence in 1690, it took many
decades afterwards for it be finalized. Towards the end of the 1700 s, the clarinet met new designs
and features. The cut holes, where we cover our fingers with, was experimented on many times.
They needed to see which shape and size had the best effect, in terms of sound. After the cut holes
were mastered, notes became an issue to create. But, with the help of Iwan Mutters 13 keyed model
everything was falling together. Furthermore, the fingering system developed by Theobald Boehm
was adapted to the clarinet. This system is best known as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, as time passed many famous artist like, Christopher Gluck, Georg Telemann, and Jean
Philippe Rameau, featured them in their musical pieces. The clarinets ability to blend in with other
instruments caused an attraction to composers. They loved how the instrument had such nice
multi talents . The clarinets first big step forward was due to Wolfgang Mozart. He brought the
clarinet to real life by penning a clarinet concerto. A concerto is a musical composition for a solo
instrument or instruments accompanied by an orchestra, especially one conceived on a relatively
large scale . Till date, this concerto is known to be one of the most astonishing pieces to

How Does The Namesake Show Cultural Identity
Everyone struggles with identification, whether you are born and raised in one country and have
shared the same cultural beliefs and norms your whole life, or whether you are born in one country
and move to another that has different cultural norms and beliefs. What makes it unique to each
individual is the journey one takes to figure out their own identity. The Namesake shows a beautiful
journey from both his mother and Gogol s perspective. It shows a women who was taken out of a
country she loved and a country she only knew, then demonstrated the journey of her son, a first
generation Indian American and his struggle finding his own identity.
When being a part of a first generation immigrant there comes many identity struggles throughout
their lives. Using The Namesake, is a perfect example of the struggle some might face. Gogol, one
of the main characters is a first generation Indian American. Both parents were born and raised in

This funeral demonstrated how Ashima found her Indian family in America and how they can
share the same cultural beliefs and norms, but also integrate it with the American culture and
citizens who fully identify with being an American; such as Gogol s girlfriend at the time. It was
a beautiful funeral, especially to see two cultures coming together to honor one from another
cultural. The respect and love being shown, even from Gogol s girlfriend at the time, was a
magical experience. You could see she was a little uncomfortable at first, but then Gogol s family
embraced her and showed her by guiding her through the experience. This scene in the movie
explored how two cultures in one country can come together and share value and practice, even if
they might go about it differently. An Indian funeral is very different from an American one, but
the two cultures came together to honor and share their love for someone they respected, Gogol s

Analysis of William Wordsworth s Poem We Are Seven Essay
Analysis of William Wordsworth s Poem We Are Seven
William Wordsworth s poem, We are Seven, is about a person talking to a young girl about her
and her six siblings. Throughout the poem, the narrator gave the young girl a very difficult time
when she persisted that simply because not all seven children were home together, or alive, they
were still seven. The narrator was giving the young girl a hard time because he wanted her to
remember and understand that just because she and her siblings are separated does not make them
any less siblings.
Wordsworth says that two of the seven siblings are at Conway. In what way would two siblings
being far from home make them be considered not siblings? Would that not be like saying to a ...

In the poem, the little girl says, Two of us in the church yard lie, / My sister and my brother;
(Lines 21 22). Insisting that they are still seven, the young girl shows a lot of grace and mature
understanding. This is the majority of the poem because the narrator thinks it is most important
that the young girl understands she has still has five siblings, despite two of them have passed
and, their graves are green, they may be seen (Line 37). The girl is only eight years of age and
she understands that her deceased siblings are still her siblings even though they are not still
living. Making sure she understands she still has five siblings is exactly what the narrator s goal
is, but the narrator is pretending to believe they are only five. The narrator reinforces his belief
in lines 35 36: If two are in the church yard laid,/ Then ye are only five. The conversation
resurfaces later in the poem, in lines 61 64: How many are you, then, said I,/ If they two are in
heaven?/ Quick was the little Maid s reply,/ O Master! We are seven. No matter what is said by
the narrator, the eight year old girl insists that they are seven. Two siblings being dead is the most
reinforced because the narrator and the little girl know that her siblings at Conway or at sea are
anticipated to return home sometime. The other two, the deceased two, will never return home.
The small gal lightly touches on two of her other siblings who are

Case Study UTI using Barrows and Pickell model of problem...
INTRODUCTIONThis is a case study concerning a patient presenting with low abdominal pain,
frequent micturation and dysuria. I will discuss the consultation and show how I used the problem
solving consultation style detailed by Alison Crumbie. This involves listening to the patients initial
complaint and developing hypothetical diagnosis. Focused questioning and clinical examination
and investigations will then be used to eliminate some of the initial hypotheses. The patients
perspective of their problem will be addressed and the synthesis of gathered information will
enable the practitioner to arrive at a differential diagnosis and to agree on a treatment plan with the
patient so that they can manage their problem. I currently work as a... Show more content on

Inquiry StrategySue had told me that she had pain on passing urine and as I focused my
questioning she told me her urine appeared darker in colour than normal and smelled different
than usual. She described the pain as stinging and said that it was provoked by micturating and
relieved a minute or so after she stopped urinating. I asked her to point to where the pain was in
her abdomen and she indicated the suprapubic region. She gauged the pain to be level 6 on a
pain scale of 0 10 without analgesia but did say it was relieved by analgesia and resolved to a
feeling of pressure rather than pain at that time. Back/loin pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and frank
haematuria are all more common with pylonephritis. Sue denied any of these symptoms which
made it less likely as a diagnosis ultimately. . On enquiry Sue told me that she used Depo Provera

denied any spotting of blood. Her last injection was given in practice 40 days previously and by

Politics Is The Practice And Theory Of Power And Resources...
Politics (from Greek: ПЂОїО»О№П„О№ОєПЊП‚ politikos, definition of, for, or relating to
citizens ) is the practice and theory of influencing other people. Politics involves the making of a
common decision for a group of people, that is, a uniform decision applying in the same way to all
members of the group. It also involves the use of power by one person to affect the behavior of
another person. More narrowly, it refers to achieving and exercising positions of governance
organized control over a human community, particularly a state. Furthermore, politicsis the study or
practice of the distribution of power and resources within a given community (a usually
hierarchically organized population) as well as the interrelationship(s) between... Show more

Formal Politics refers to the operation of a constitutional system of government and publicly
defined institutions and procedures.[1] Political parties, public policy or discussions about war and
foreign affairs would fall under the category of Formal Politics.[1] Many people view formal
politics as something outside of themselves, but that can still affect their daily lives.[1]
Informal Politics is understood as forming alliances, exercising power and protecting and
advancing particular ideas or goals. Generally, this includes anything affecting one s daily life,
such as the way an office or household is managed, or how one person or group exercises
influence over another.[1] Informal Politics is typically understood as everyday politics, hence the
idea that politics is everywhere .[1]

How Did The Taliban s Struggle
On April 2nd, 2018, in the Dasht e Archi District of Afghanistan, the Afghan Air Force, their
motives completely different, targeted a group of Taliban elders, and started an air strike, resulting
in many casualties and deaths. The Afghan government initially blamed the Taliban for this tragic
event, resulting in 250 casualties, fifty nine of them being killed, and the other one hundred and
twenty being severely injured, and whisked away to be helped. It is tragedies such as this one that
make people wonder about the Talibans whereabouts today, especially since the time of their

Pakistan has been involved with the Taliban organization since their founding, and from the major
support that they have given them, it can be considered that they had made the basis of most of
their attacks. The Taliban leader and founder, Mullah Omar, had been trained in Pakistan to fight
the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan. Since then, their government had been aiding Omar and his
party s missions in the most major and trivial ways. The oil that was used to power the Taliban war
machines was from Pakistan. After the Taliban s capture of Kandahar, and the transformation of

the refuge that Pakistan had provided for the runaway Taliban after Kandahar s fall that causes
people now to blame for their rumored reconstruction of the organization. Since 2001, even

Engma Machine Dbq
The reason as to why the Enigma Machine was a major objective and required a specific group of
people to solve was because it dictated how the Germans communicated and was an extremely
complex machine that only the most intelligent people could potentially solve. The Enigma
Machine was a code generating machine used by the Nazis during World War Two. What appeared
to be a typewriter in a suitcase, the Enigma Machinehad essentially 4 main components to itself:
the keyboard, the lamp board, the plug board, and the rotors. The keyboard was arranged in a
German QWERTZ layout. The lamp board was also arranged in the same manner as the keyboard,
however with the lamp board, there were no buttons to press down on. Instead there were stencils of

The commercial Enigma Machine that was sold prior to the war had no plugboard, as the reason
for secrecy was not on the same degree as sending decrypted messages containing information
such as coordinates of an attack. The plug board was a component at the bottom of an Enigma
machine that resembled a telephone switchboard. There were once again the letters arranged in
the German QWERTZ layout and each letter had two sockets for an electrical lead to be
connected to another letter. Finally there were three rotors in every Enigma Machine: the fast, the
middle, and the slow. To add onto the complexity, there were 5 rotors to choose from. Each rotor
would have 26 numbered ticks to represent the 26 letters in the alphabet and for every letter typed,
the fast rotor would turn once. After turning 26 times, the middle rotor would turn once and the
process would repeat until the middle rotor turned a total of 26 times. Once the middle rotor turned
26 times the slow rotor would turn once. Within each rotor was a complex maze of 26 wires that

Statistical Weather Prediction And Regional Climate...
One way nested Limited Area Models (LAMs) are used in numerical weather prediction and
regional climate modelling to downscale coarse resolution global/regional simulations or analyses
that are provided as the time evolving Lateral Boundary Conditions (LBC). The LAM integrations
are sensitively dependent on infinitesimally small modifications. The so called twin simulations,
i.e., LAM integrations identical in all respect, except having slightly different initial conditions,
may with time lead to substantially different solutions. This phenomenon has been referred to as
internal variability (IV) in the existing literature [e.g., Giorgi and Bi, 2000; Christensen et al.,
2001; Rinke et al., 2004; Lucas Picher et al., 2008a; CrГ©tat et al., 2011; Done et al., 2014].
Internal variability is usually quantified in terms of the inter member standard deviation between the
simulations pertaining to the different initial conditions. In extended range LAM integrations
conducted over months to years, the IV varies with several factors that include the synoptic
situation, season of a year, the size and position of the computational domain and the spatial and
temporal scales under consideration. For computational domains centered over midlatitudes, IV is
typically larger in summer [e.g., Caya and Biner, 2004], increases with the size of the
computational domain [Alexandru et al., 2007; Rapaić et al., 2011] and increases downstream
with respect to the inflow lateral boundaries [e.g.,

Leadership And Cinematic Themes Of The Film And Media
Introduction Leadership is commonly defined as an act of leading an organization or a group of
people for some cause or purpose. In every field of life, reflection of leadership is evident,
whether it s an organizational environment or some other social setting (Stewart, 2010). Humans
live and work together to progress, and in this respect, one of the individuals has to take the lead
and drive others too towards achieving success (Lintz, 2003). Similarly, the film and media also
play a role in teaching the general public about how leadership is important and exercised in a
setting. That being said, this purpose is aimed at presenting a leadership in film reflection through
highlighting different leadership and cinematic themes. The reflection will primarily develop
appreciation of the film through leadership in action. In this respect, the paper will talk about
distinguishing the artistic means of music, imagery, costume, and historical footage etc. The
paper will also talk about how the direction has used these elements to signify leadership bias and
other issues. The effect of leader on organizational culture and vice versa will also be discussed,
which will then be followed by a conclusion. The scholarly evidence will also be provided while
presenting analysis. The film chosen for this purpose is Patton, which was released in 1970.
Description of Artistic Means in Film Patton

The Detective Chief Inspector Of The Inspector Calls
Not another sound is heard from the other end of the phone aside a small gasp and a few gentle,
shaking breaths, before the blaring beep signals that the caller has just hung up. Now, enter
Detective Chief Inspector Banks. His appearance denotes a man of wealth; a portly fellow with
quite the beer gut. He could perhaps be described as abrasive or as lacking in regard for others,
with qualities of a dictator, or as dominant, being ever one to take charge. He seemed to gain
little happiness from his position, ever one for being pessimistic, or simply a realist as he tells
everyone, and is an avid gambler with no other relations. After the line ends the call, Chief
Banks sighs, rubbing a hand along the stubble that lines his chin, slow and harsh. A groan
escapes his lips along with the chair as he stands, hands fumbling along his desk until he
manages to gather what he was after: keys and packet of cigarettes. As soon as Banks stands,
another movement within the room is to be heard also. This is Detective Chief Rivers, a lean
and awkward young man of 6 2 . He has jet black hair and a long nose, and his personality is
almost the opposite of Banks ; he is eager and obedient, submissive and optimistic, and always
willing to give his time to assist the aid of the Chief, whom he regards with the utmost respect
for. C mon, we ve got a call, Banks states with a lack of care to his voice that could be seen as

Importance Of Heroes In Modern Society
The term hero is attained from the ancient Greeks. In the mind of the Greeks, a hero was a
mortal who had succeeded beyond the normal scope of human experience, in which received
worship as if he or she was a god. Examples of these heroes are Asclepius, the first doctor;
Dionysus, the creator of Greek fraternities; and Hercules, the infamous monster killer. While these
people completed honorable deeds, other people who had committed crimes were also known as
heroes. These people include Oedipus and Medea who also received worship after their deaths.
These men and women have had relevance in society for many generations, and continue to have
relevance in today s society. To the Greeks, heroes were always doing something extraordinary. It

Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly
cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be
surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different
because of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be
impossible, although it might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as
someone who accomplished something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs
or Army Rangers as heroes, while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society.
While politicians might be looked at as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view
them as this because of the corrupt aura that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is
much different, then when the ancient civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has
been an ever changing definition in the world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern
day society shape the world. Many people might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero,
while a more modern man might look up to Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. If it were
not for the ancient Greeks, the idea of a hero might not exist in our society. Thankfully the idea
does exist and these heroes help motivate us to strive for a better life. Cynicism can often be used

A Personal Assessment Of Dasani, The Invisible Child Essay
Introduction This paper will be the second personal assessment of Dasani, the invisible child,
through four different theories. These theories include Fowler s Stages of Faith Development,
Stimulation Theories, Control Theories and the Practice Orientation versus Culture of Poverty.
Each theory will be broken down into it s own section of synopsis and then assessment of Dasani to
give a better understanding of her spiritual and cultural dimensions and her physical environment.
Fowler s Stages of Faith Development Synopsis James Fowler developed his stages of faith after
conduction in depth interviews of 359 people. The sample subjects were predominately white,
with equal numbers of males and females and included a wide range of ages, from three and a half
to 84 years old. Fowler s interviews consisted of 30 plus questions regarding the subject s life
experiences, relationships, values, commitments and religion. After analyzing the responses, Fowler
placed each subject in one of six faith stages. The responses indicated that as the subject s age
increased, so did their stage of faith (Hutchison, 2015). Fowler saw faith as greater than religious
faith and viewed it as a universal aspect of human existence (Hutchison, 2015). The ultimate
environment is an important element of Fowler s theory. He saw faith as not only an internal image
but also how one relates to that image. Faith is not an unchangeable image or idea, but a way of
being. The six stages of

Research methodology generally involves qualitative research or quantitative research, or a mixture
of both. A quantitative research methodology involves the analysis of data collected from a large
number of surveys or interviews. On the other hand, methodologies for qualitative research often
involve using surveys or interviews to collect information about people their attitudes, experiences
and behaviors.
The Methodology that will be used in terms of the research question will be the qualitative research
which involves a phenomenological perspective. The researcher aims to evaluate the meaning of

Comparing Kessler s Jack And The Beanstalk
Underneath the rambunctiousness of a child s behavior, signs of a more serious condition are
often missed. The symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are exceedingly similar.
Both lack concentration and an ability to prioritize and have an abundance of spontaneity and

of this disorder are present in children in fairytales long before ADHD was publicly discussed.
One of these being Jack and the Beanstalk, where Jack exemplifies many signs of this disorder,
especially being easily distracted and incapable of recognizing dangerousness over excitement.

Simple tasks are easily forgotten by hyperactive kids, creating a lot of tension between kids and
parents, a pattern that follows through with Jack and his mother ( Kessler np). A common trait
in children with ADHD is forgetfulness a distractibility ( Kessler np). This could prove why
when Jack left to sell the cow he quickly forgot what his mother wanted in exchange for the cow
and was to distracted by the offer of magic beans to give his mother s wishes another thought. At
the man s first offer of normal beans, Jack was very smart and denied the offer, but when the
man threw in the word magic Jack immediately responds, Really? said Jack. You don t say so
(Grimm np). One factor in the mother s anger is how naive Jack is. To be fair, Jack s mother
should of had the sense not to give her son the task of selling their best cow for money, but you
can understand the anger she feels when her son comes home with supposed magic beans instead
of the much needed money. But the anger is easily forgotten when the beans begin to bring her
fortune as well. Instead of shaming Jack for being foolish enough to trade the best cow for beans,
she begins enjoy reaping the benefits of his thievery. Mimesis is also present for single mothers, or
just mothers in general, raising a child with ADHD. As they read, they can relate to the mother s
annoyance in Jack s behavior and the troubling reality of learning how to deal with the many
symptoms that come with the disorder. Parenting on its own is a difficult task, but to include the
struggle of forgetfulness, distractibility, and hyperactivity adds a new level of frustration and
struggles in every day activities for both the child and the

Analysis Of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the fifth album released by American artist Kanye West.
The album was released in 2010 following the rapper s controversial VMA incident involving
Taylor Swift and Beyonce and in the midst of Kanye s struggling relationship (My Beautiful Dark
Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West). Kanye explores the unspoken sorrows of fame and love in
MBDTF. Kanye opens his fifth studio album with the song Dark Fantasy and a monologue from
fellow artist, Nicki Minaj. The hook of Dark Fantasy repeats Can we get much higher? So high
(Kanye West). West seems to believe that at this point in his career he has reached the peaks of
the hip hop and rap industry. This hook is followed by many other boastful lines such as an
announcement of his new Lamborghini and arrogant statements on his supermodel girlfriend
and designer clothes. Due to the pompous nature of Dark Fantasy, it established itself as one of
my least favorite songs on the album. However, there is one line in the song that I actually
enjoyed and found powerful, Sorry for the night demons that still visit me, The plan was to drink
until the pain over, But what s worse, the pain of the hangover? (Kanye West). Kanye West
admits that he himself has problems and he resorts to drinking to ease the pain. I found that
Kanye admitting one of his own faults was a great way to wrap up an arrogant song. Dark Fantasy
is followed by a deep song titled Gorgeous, addressing the topic of racial injustice in

The Pros And Cons Of Saddam Hussein
The two most effective options are containment and invasion, as they utilize military force to
remove Saddam Hussein from power. Invasion is a viable solution because Hussein is a dangerous
threat and needs to be removed from power immediately. Saddam Hussein has repeatedly proven to
be uncooperative and deceptive in dealing with the United Nations weapons inspections. Also,
defeating the dictatorship in Iraqwill send a message to other countries, just by mobilizing their
troops that this behavior will not be tolerated by the United States, and that we are willing to

Iraqi people, the citizens of the United States, and all of the surrounding countries. Saddam has
been threatened and warned, but still avoids weapons regulations. A historian explained, We re
not going to tackle Saddam Hussein, we re going to leave this (Inaudible) dictator in power. It s
pretty obvious how it would look. It would look that the West was scared of Saddam Hussein, it
would appear that Saddam Hussein had faced down the great powers of the world, (Alternative

States troopers, as they yearn for a new government. Some Arabs want to United States to be

The Crying Game By Neil Jordan And Loaded By Christos...
ВЎВ§Texts both inform us of the social identities available to us, and problematize them; both
police our social selves and subvert them.ВЎВЁ
Both texts, The Crying Game by Neil Jordan and Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, use
characters within the discourse to project social identities that have been
problematized due to social constraints. Throughout this essay, I will focus on
sexuality, as this type of social identity has been depicted as a central theme in both
texts. The characters from the texts work to, police and subvert their own sexual
identities within their social milieu.

In contrast, the character of Dil in The Crying Game, was portrayed as a transvestite.
Dil is a man that functions in society as a woman. To encourage DilВЎВ¦s sexual identity

Summary Of Wars Of The Roses By Alison Weir
In this book, Alison Weir tells the events and people behind what she describes as the first Wars
of the Roses , which covers the roots of one of England s bloodiest civil wars and traces its path
through the reign of Edward IV.The war between the houses of Lancaster and York for the throne
of England was characterized by treachery, deceit and at St Albans, Blore Heath and Towton, some
of the bloodiest and most dramatic battles on Englands soil. Weir is of the opinion that the conflict
began with the horrible reign of Richard II, historians disagree over this statement. The Wars of the

The Struggle For Women s Rights
Women Suffrage Throughout history, battles and wars have been fought to gain some type of
rights or freedoms. In 1775, the American Revolutionary War was fought for independence; In
1865, the American Civil War was fought to end slavery. Although no wars were fought, many
battles were waged for women s rights. The struggle for women s rights begin in the mid late
1800s at a time when women were not allowed to vote or own property. Women, as with African
Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as
men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the
gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of
male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted
to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and
create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s
Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after
America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the
voices of women across this nation have been silenced. America was changing and women had the
right to be part of the process. The time was right for women to rise up and demand equal rights
and justice. As Citizens, women should be given the right to vote, own property, and

Religious Experiences are all Illusions
Religious experiences are all illusions. Discuss. Most arguments for the existence of God are a
posteriori , seeking to move from experiences within the world to the existence of God rather than
relying on the definition of God to prove his existence. Religious experience is an interaction with
God or a feeling of connection with a higher power. It is interesting to note that William James
never spoke of Godbut of the spiritual , unseen order or higher aspects of the world. Does a person
have to be sure they encountered God rather than connecting with a higher power for their
experience to be classed as religious experience? The basic problem when trying to verify religious
experiences is providing proof to show others that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

through the senses then he cannot be experienced. Otto believed that religion must be derived from
a separate being from this world. He believed religious experience was a personal experience of
the numinous that brought feelings of awe inspiring holiness. Otto thought that the numinous
couldn t be successfully described using everyday human language as the experience is beyond
ordinary experiences perceived by our senses. Words that are used tend to get close to
experience but cannot pin it down. Otto called the words used to describe the experience its
schema, but believed this schema was only an attempt to find words that could begin to describe
the experience although the idea is inexpressible. Otto was developing the ideas of
Schleiermacher who believed the essence of religion was based in personal experience. He
thought that religious experience is self authenticating and requires no other testing to see if it is
genuine. He believed experiences should have priority and statements of belief should be
formatted to fit them. Also, James considered that religious experiences lie at the heart of all
religion. We have to consider whether religions would have been founded and held a belief so

Choosing Favorite Beatles Songs
Choosing favorite Beatles songs is a bit like choosing a favorite child, it s damn near. They put
out four psychedelic albums (if you count Yellow Submarine, which I m not), and three post
psychedelic albums. In the 8 years they recorded, they released 12 studio albums, not counting the
US releases as many of those were compilation records. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of the
mop tops era Beatles and songs like I Want to Hold Your Hand and She Loves You. However, I did
include a few from that time period. I would love to hear your top 10 to see if we match up at all.
Number Ten: All You Need Is Love. Written after only two weeks after the release of Sgt. Pepper,
All You Need Is Love was specifically written for the first satellite hookup between 25 countries
called Our World. The song boasted an optimistic vibe during the summer of love in 1967. The
song featured many prominent artists singing on the chorus. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards,
Marianne Faithful, and Eric Clapton were just a few of the talents who appeared on the recording.
The track also included many guest musicians playing everything from violin to trumpet. The
Beatles themselves played unconventional instruments: Lennon on harpsichord, McCartney on
double bass and Harrison on violin. The track was made available on Magical Mystery Tour and
Yellow Submarine.
Number Nine: In My Life. Again, Lennon credits Bob Dylan as well as journalist Kenneth Allsop
for bringing him out of his shell as

Television and Crude Language
Why is crude language used in television? Some people think that the crude language used in
television serves no purpose and shows that a program was made by a bunch of idiots,
intellectually, who cannot think of anything intelligent to say. On the other side of the spectrum,
people could argue that vulgar language in movies or television serves as a way to make fun or to
interpret stupidity in our society. In the comedic movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, the
main characters, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny sneak into an R rated animated musical called
Terrance and Phillip Asses of Fire , which uses a high volume of crude language. This movie was
so terrible that everybody in the movie theatre left, while the only people that stayed through the
whole filmwere Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. After the movie, the boys were using all the
crude language that they had learned from the movie Terrance and Phillip. The creators of South
Park, Trey Parkerand Matt Stone, use crude language throughout their episodes to represent the
social issues in America. The creators use the crude language to cause attention, to practice their
freedom of speech in America, and to rebel against censorship in television which contributes to
the success of this program. South Park discusses issues prevalent in today s society and
encourages people to practice their freedom of speech, which is why this program should be
watched by more people. South Park is a very successful television

Analysis Of Between The World And Me,
In Ta Nehisi Coates s Between the World and Me, Coates seeks to educate his young son and in
turn the reader of his experience as an African American man in the United States. In this, racism
becomes a very prominent and complex theme. In some way racism impacted every facet of his
life. The novel highlights the drastic difference in the ability for curiosity and personal development
and questioning in his public educationin a poor area versus his continued education at Howard
University a historically black private college. What was the main cause of these extremely
different experiences, socioeconomics, institutional culture, educational style?
Coates spent his childhood years in a poor Baltimore public school, a system that mostly meant
always packing an extra number 2 pencil and working quietly (Coates 25). He grew up believing
that The world had no time for the childhoods of black boys and girls (Coates 25). School was
not to him a place of education but rather an institution whose purpose was to train the students to
obey and conform. Algebra, Biology, and english were not subjects so much as opportunities to
better discipline the body (Coates 25). In many low income public schools education seems to fall
through the cracks. The curriculum meets the basic requirements but lacks the space for the kids
to find personal passions, to be curious about what they want to know and believe. Coastes s
childhood education was not one of discovery, rather it was

The Failure Of The American Prison System
TheFailure of the American Prison System The subject of prison evokes fearful and violent images
seen in movies or on television; outdated clichГ©s consisting of men eating stale bread and
drinking dirty water that are intended to repulse people and deter them from committing crimes and
ending up in such a position. Unfortunately, the reality of the American prisonsystem is just as
troubling as the dated stereotypes surrounding it. Despite its success in keeping dangerous
offenders off the streets, the modern prison system fails in fulfilling its original design of restoring
criminals to being productive members of society. It has proven to be an inefficient and ineffective
system by focusing on punishment over rehabilitation, leading to issues such as overcrowding,
wasting taxpayers money and a high recidivismrate. As children, most people learn obedience
through punishment. When we do something wrong one or several privileges are taken away by
our parents. Depending on the severity of a mistake, such punishment may last for a very short time
or in some cases it may even be permanent. Many parents inflict the common punishment of not
allowing their children to watch television for a certain amount of time. Such disciplinary methods
often prove to be positive learning experiences that teach children right from wrong and instill them
with values that prevent them from doing it again. Similarly, the United States prison system was
initially designed with the same basic

Kenneth Grahame s The Wind in the Willows Essay
Kenneth Grahame s The Wind in the Willows
Kenneth Grahame s The Wind in the Willows is a satirical reflection of the English social
structure of the late nineteenth century, during a time of rapid industrialization throughout Europe.
Also considered a children s story, this novel conveys Grahame s belief in the ability of one to
live an unrestrained and leisurely life, free of the obligations of the working class, and entitled to
this life through high social status and wealth. The River Bank characters, especially Toad,

It is these types of qualities that seem to define the character of Toad as more memorable than
the others are, and outline the typical image of those people from the upper class. His self
centeredness is blatantly displayed in the songs Toad sings to himself while returning home
(117 and 121). His ignorant and judgmental attitudes are recurring. To the lady kindly giving him
a ride, after she discovers his lies, he shouts, You common, low, fat barge woman! Don t you
dare talk to your betters like that! (112). He also thinks very lowly of the washerwoman in prison,
who ironically saves his life (84 5). He assumes a great many things and, perhaps innocently and
unknowingly, insults people whose opinions differ from his own, as is the case in speaking with
Rat on page 16:
Now, you dear good old Ratty, said Toad imploringly, don t begin to talking in that stiff and
sniffy sort of way, because you know you ve got to come. I can t possibly manage without you,
so please consider it settled and don t argue it s the one thing I can t stand. You surely don t mean to
stick to your dull fusty old river all your life, and just live in a hole in a bank, and boat? I want to

Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant
Wastewater treatment systems are very important to providing clean, drinkable water to its
surrounding societies. These systems also help in the removal of contaminants in wastewater from
household sewage, runoff, domestic, commercial and institutional units. Processes include physical,
chemical and biological manipulation of contaminants to neutralize their effects on the human body
for consumption. There are three main types of treatment, primary, secondary and tertiary, all of
which have separate units and processes that flow in an organized manner to ultimately end up with
recycled potable water.
First in primary treatment the sewage is temporarily held in a quiescent basin where heavy solids
settle to the bottom while other contaminants such as oil, grease and lighter solids float to the
top. Commonly used procedures involve bar screens with washer compactors that remove a
majority of non fine solid material waste. Other airs is added to settle solids for grit removal. Fine
screens as also used to capture the finer waste material that flows through the primary larger hole
bar screens. They can often have two different sizes of bar screens that help in removing as much
sold material waste before moving onto secondary treatment. The finer screens are used to capture
plastics that come into the system.
Secondary treatment removes dissolved material and biological matter that is suspended between

Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby
II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness ,
(Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by
showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well.
Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now
he has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even
more so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors.
The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties,
is during a brief encounter with a highway policeman.
As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a
white card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption
implies that Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or
not. It hints back to the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled
with, so much that Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61).
Thus, his doubleness as a mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to
relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch, Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes
Gatsby s dealings in shady business. This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors

Among the innumerable modernist poets that successfully encompass Ezra Pound s slogan,
Make It New, Hart Crane best embodies this mindset with his innovative poetry. However, Make
It New does not imply that the ideas must be completely original. Very well read, Crane and his
poetry were influenced by many, ranging from foreign writers, such as William Shakespeare and
Charles Baudelaire, to other writers of his time, such as T.S. Eliot. By merging already recognized
ideas of renowned writers along with his own creativity, Crane conveys a sense of familiarity,

To Brooklyn Bridge was directly inspired by T.S. Eliot s The Wasteland and Walt Whitman s
Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, but the poem itself does not contain words or phrases that directly
correlate to those specific poets and their respective poems. Instead, the overall atmosphere of
the poem may remind readers of Eliot and Whitman. First of all, once again according to the
anthology, To Brooklyn Bridge is a hopeful reply to The Wasteland, where Eliot writes of a
fractured world, a perspective Crane shares, but his response paints a more optimistic picture.
Crane accomplishes this by using the Brooklyn Bridge as its prime symbol... to restore meaning
and unity to a fragmented and dissonant modern world (Axelrod 626). The Bridge is a manmade
effort that is capable of connecting the fragmented world. This hope is also reminiscent of Whitman
s ideas of an idealistic and unified America. Yet, a more significant influence from Whitman is the
theme of repressed homosexuality that is present in the poem. With both poets being homosexual, it
is no surprise that Crane was influenced by Whitman. The second to last stanza

The Objectives Of Organic Farming
Organic Farming is the practice of producing food without the use of harmful chemicals that can
cause great damage to the environment. Their production is natural and is done without the use of
things like pesticides, herbicides or growth hormones in order to protect the surrounding areas.
They are produced without synthetic chemicals and no genetic modification can be used for these
particular plants. These plants are supposed to have higher nutritional quality without artificial
fertilisers or synthetic chemicals. Organic Farmingfalls within the Agricultureand Fisheries sector as
it involves cultivating of land to grow foods.
The aim of Organic Farming is to improve soil fertility by using different techniques such as crop
rotation and organic to assist in plant growth rather than using growth hormones or synthetic

In order to turn things organic, there is a process which must happen. Farmers must ensure that they
have effectively improved the fertility of their soil and they must try to eliminate weeds and pests
without using chemicals to do so. These things must be planned in order for the process to happen
sooner.
The Organic Federation of Australia (OFA) is one of the main organic organisations ins Australia
and was established in 1998 in order to represent organic and biodynamic industries within the
country. They wish to promote organic farming from a simple niche market to a larger and more
significant part of Australian food.

Over the years, there has been much debate about the ethical concerns of second hand smoke.
Inhaling second hand smoke is an unavoidable consequence of being in the vicinity of smokers,
exposing non smokers to the same harmful chemicals as those who voluntarily engaged in it. While
acknowledging the selfish nature of second hand smoking, governments in various countries like
Singapore have put in place smoke free laws that restricts smokers from smoking in certain public
places ( Smoking prohibition, 2013). However, there are many outdoor areas, which the government
cannot possibly ban as well, signalling that the ethical concerns of the smoke released from
smoking cannot be eliminated. The introduction of e cigarettes was intended to... Show more

The duty ethics of government can be satisfied by being involve to support the safety and health of
their community. As the FDA and other health organizations may recognize e cigarettes as a
cessation device in the future, it is necessary to implement measures that may be effective in
addressing the possible ethical issues that accompanies the introduction of e cigarettes in the
market. Public restrictions Currently, many countries have smoke free air laws that restrict
smokers from smoking in most indoor and certain outdoor places. As e cigarettes do not produce
the carcinogenic toxins of secondhand smoke ( Secondhand vapor from, 2014), regulating agencies
do not put such restrictions on e cigarettes as well. This freedom of using e cigarettes anywhere
may give the public the impression that e cigarettes are completely safe. In addition, allowing e
cigarettes users to engage in vaping openly might normalize smoking and is potentially capable of
eliminating the existing stigma which society has on smoking. This may encourage nicotine
addiction among non smokers and even smokers that have

Uranus Experiments
Before being known as a planet Uranus was mistaken for a star. Probably the first time that
Uranus was observed was by Hipparchus of Nicaea. Hipparchus did mistaken Uranus for a star.
Hipparchus may have recorded it as a star for his star catalogue that was later incorporated into
Ptolemy s Almagest (1). William Herschel first observed Uranus on March 13, 1781 from the
garden of his house at 19 New King Street in Bath, Somerset, England. Herschel engaged in a
series of observations on the parallax of the fixed stars. Using a telescope of his own design.
When William first wrote on his journal about the discovery that he made, he said that he had
found a comet. He believed that he had found a comet, but he was also comparing it to a planet. So,
William was wondering if what he found was a comet or if it was a planet. William Herschel wrote
to Astronomer Royal, Nevil Maskelyne saying: I don t know what to call it. It is as likely to be a
regular planet moving in an orbit nearly circular to the sun as a Comet moving in a very eccentric
ellipsis. I have not yet seen any coma or tail to it (2).
Although William continued to say that he had found a comet, other astronomers started to think
otherwise. Other astronomers started to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joseph Banks said: By the observation of the most eminent Astronomers in Europe it appears that
the new star, which I had the honour of pointing out to them in March 1781, is a Primary Planet of

Herschel found and was saying that it was a comet. They chose to look at it, and came to the
conclusion that it was a planet and not a comet. William Herschel ended up being known as the
astronomer that found a new planet in our Solar system all because other astronomers decided to

The Relationship between Doctor and Patient Should be...
Majoring in medicine is one of the most intellectually challenging things that I ve ever been a
part of. When faced with task to do a research paper depicting a problem in your major, well
because the medical field is so broad so I found a topic that is almost never talked about. Love
and Medicine , I chose this topic because it deals with physicians being more than friendly with
their patients as unethical as this may seem it happens almost. The relationship between a patient
and a doctor should be extremely platonic; doctors should always know his or her boundaries,
display a level of professionalism, and show as much humility in their job as possible. Physicians
should always know their boundaries when it comes to patients. The... Show more content on

Whether it is in the office or on social networks a physician is always held up to a higher standard
just because of who they are. Dr. Jain of NEJM writes that, In confirming this patient as my
friend on Facebook, I was merging my professional and personal lives. From my Facebook page,
Ms. Baxter could identify and reach anyone in my network of friends, view an extensive
collection of personal photographs, read my personal blog, and review notations that others had
left on my wall. The anxiety I felt about crossing boundaries is an old problem in clinical medicine,
but it has taken a different shape as it has migrated to this new medium. Once a physician has
crossed that line of professionalism has been crossed and a patient decides to report their physician
could risk losing just about everything. Such as damage to his or her practice, loss of public trust,
and often loss of hospital and health care payment plan affiliations.
In the field of Medicine it is expected of physicians to always show a certain level of humility on
the job. It is under no circumstances may a physician place his or her own financial interests
above the welfare of his or her patients. Taking advantage of information gained by means of
patient physician relationship for personal gain. For instance, if a patient decides to share a
personal story with their physician because they feel that there is a certain level of confidentiality
and the physician decides to sell the story to

Data Gathering Essay
Research is a vital tool for education. It is research that gives us the ability to accurately observe
broad pools of student, respond to data, and thus become better educators. Without research, we
wouldn t be able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is
complicated, detailed, and often labor intensive.
There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their
own pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it
keeps us flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering
techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys.
Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of
students, they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal
and therefore much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer
sitting down with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more
complicated than those of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability
of the interviewee to answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so
low. It only takes talking for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing
of the questionnaire or the way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test.

The Importance Of Multicultural Communication
With the increased proliferation of organizational settings across many industries, businesses and
the staff members need a more complex understanding of intercultural communication. With that in
mind, it is also important that businesses and their employees engage in an intercultural
communication evaluation and make serious adjustments to address the needs of both the
consumers and the producers. As a result, businesses can elaboratively work toward a future of
multicultural connection and free from stereotypes and discrimination. To support this
collaboration, three prestige industries around the world have been chosen. The three industries
Iberdrola, Energia De Portugal, and AES Corporationwill help to make a beneficial impact on
different cultural populations with an addition of explaining their functionalities among those
cultures. The first industry is Iberdrola, an electrical utility companyin Spain. The Iberdrola

The Environmental Effects Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
The Exxon Valdez Oil spill in 1989 had ran into Bligh Reef in Prince William Sounds in Alaska;
11 million gallons of crude oil was spilled and eventually covered 1,000 miles of coastline. Many
animals were affected and were killed such as sea otters and sea birds. The spill had a
detrimental effect on the food chain. Over time the sea water started to convert the oil into an
emulsion that looks like mousse. This emulsion is very difficult to remove from the sea water.
The oil spill had spread southwest because of harsh winds. It spread to the Alaska Peninsula
from Prince William Sound about 750km (470 miles) in trajectory. The clean up efforts came
from the U.S. Coast Guard, Exxon, and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation.
The effects are still seen today on the shore line of Eleanor Island, Alaska where if you dig a
hole in the ground oil will seep into the hole. Animals were found covered in oil and were
imminently tended to be cleaned and taken care of until the water was clean enough for them to
live. Many otters and birds were found dead and covered in oil. Clean up involved power washing
rocks on the shore line. Support vessels also came to the aid of the Exxon ship. Oil was also
contained with a containment boom, and DC 6 planes sprayed dispersants in the water. High
winds pushed crude oil and it was found up to Squire Island. This spill was in Bligh Reef in Alaska
s pristine Prince William Sound on March 24, 1989. This reef was originally a

Life Changing Moment
On July 4, 2012 I was playing lacrosse in Daytona Beach, Florida with my best friend waiting for
someone to order pizza for us. A friend of my friend s family, a few years older than us, brought
his surfboard with him and asked us if we would want to try surfing out before dinner gets there.
We were both athletic kids and never tried surfing before, being that we were from Ohio, so we
jumped at the opportunity to try it. I was first to try riding a wave, and I was able to stand up and
successfully ride it all the way in to shore. My friend tried after and he was also successful his
first attempt. This continued as we rode 9 10 more waves in, when we got bored we both said
we were going to ride one more wave in, then be done. Little did I know my life changing
moment was approaching. I stood up and rode the wave in just like all of the times before. The
ocean wind was blowing in my face as the surfboard was gliding over the water. As I approached
the shore the board slightly started to turn as I lost my balance and went plunging into the water.
The top of my head impacted the ocean floor first, leaving me immediately paralyzed from the
neck down, unable to move any part of my body.
The initial shock left me in panic, I couldn t move my body or feel what was going on. I was left
face down in the water not knowing if my friend, or the other kid we were with would know that I
was in trouble before it was too late. Over a minute passed, which felt like hours, and I started

Reflection Paper On Dance Performance
On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills,
I observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A,
Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker,
with the long cast of dancers. The production was pleasing, and would not have been believable
without the work from production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is
played out in eight different danceroutines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken, Things
Are A Stirrin , and the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women, Exotica, Strength In
Numbers, and Makina. This fall dance concert was filled with joy, darkness, torture, culture, and
women s rights, right when you sit down and observe through all 8 dance performances. It would
have been 9 dance routines but the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury,
which made a putt off. Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second
performance, Xtra Xtra and Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were different themes
because Xtra Xtra had the dancers in radiant colors and seemed to be energetic, whereas the
performers in Scar Tissue were clothed in black attire, such as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still
energetic. This brought to my attention that the whole dance performances were contrast to each
other. Throughout the routines of the dance concert, the

  • 2. The Origin Of The Clarinet In The 1600 s The origination of the clarinet began in the 1600 s. It was an improved version of the Chalumeau the first narrow reed instrument. The difference between the two instruments was that, the clarinet now had two extra keys, and it contained a higher range by over two octaves! He also invented a better mouthpiece, and a slightly improved bell. 1690, the clarinetwas created. It is known to be a single reed woodwind instrument with a cylindrical tube . All the credit for this creation goes to Johann Christopher Denver and his son Jacob Denver. Nuremberg, Germany was the location where the clarinet was made. Even though the Clarinet came to existence in 1690, it took many decades afterwards for it be finalized. Towards the end of the 1700 s, the clarinet met new designs and features. The cut holes, where we cover our fingers with, was experimented on many times. They needed to see which shape and size had the best effect, in terms of sound. After the cut holes were mastered, notes became an issue to create. But, with the help of Iwan Mutters 13 keyed model everything was falling together. Furthermore, the fingering system developed by Theobald Boehm was adapted to the clarinet. This system is best known as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The clarinets first big step forward was due to Wolfgang Mozart. He brought the clarinet to real life by penning a clarinet concerto. • 3. How Does The Namesake Show Cultural Identity Everyone struggles with identification, whether you are born and raised in one country and have shared the same cultural beliefs and norms your whole life, or whether you are born in one country and move to another that has different cultural norms and beliefs. What makes it unique to each individual is the journey one takes to figure out their own identity. The Namesake shows a beautiful journey from both his mother and Gogol s perspective. It shows a women who was taken out of a country she loved and a country she only knew, then demonstrated the journey of her son, a first generation Indian American and his struggle finding his own identity. When being a part of a first generation immigrant there comes many identity struggles throughout their lives. Using The Namesake, is a perfect example of the struggle some might face. This funeral demonstrated how Ashima found her Indian family in America and how they can share the same cultural beliefs and norms, but also integrate it with the American culture and citizens who fully identify with being an American; such as Gogol s girlfriend at the time. It was a beautiful funeral, especially to see two cultures coming together to honor one from another cultural. The respect and love being shown, even from Gogol s girlfriend at the time, was a magical experience. You could see she was a little uncomfortable at first, but then Gogol s family embraced her and showed her by guiding her through the experience. This scene in the movie explored how two cultures in one country can come together and share value and practice, even if they might go about it differently. An Indian funeral is very different from an American one, but the two cultures came together to honor and share their love for someone they respected, Gogol s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis of William Wordsworth s Poem We Are Seven Essay Analysis of William Wordsworth s Poem We Are Seven William Wordsworth s poem, We are Seven, is about a person talking to a young girl about her and her six siblings. Throughout the poem, the narrator gave the young girl a very difficult time when she persisted that simply because not all seven children were home together, or alive, they were still seven. The narrator was giving the young girl a hard time because he wanted her to remember and understand that just because she and her siblings are separated does not make them any less siblings. Wordsworth says that two of the seven siblings are at Conway. In what way would two siblings being far from home make them be considered not siblings? Would that not be like saying to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem, the little girl says, Two of us in the church yard lie, / My sister and my brother; (Lines 21 22). Insisting that they are still seven, the young girl shows a lot of grace and mature understanding. This is the majority of the poem because the narrator thinks it is most important that the young girl understands she has still has five siblings, despite two of them have passed and, their graves are green, they may be seen (Line 37). The girl is only eight years of age and she understands that her deceased siblings are still her siblings even though they are not still living. Making sure she understands she still has five siblings is exactly what the narrator s goal is, but the narrator is pretending to believe they are only five. The narrator reinforces his belief in lines 35 36: If two are in the church yard laid,/ Then ye are only five. The conversation resurfaces later in the poem, in lines 61 64: How many are you, then, said I,/ If they two are in heaven?/ Quick was the little Maid s reply,/ O Master! We are seven. No matter what is said by the narrator, the eight year old girl insists that they are seven. Two siblings being dead is the most reinforced because the narrator and the little girl know that her siblings at Conway or at sea are anticipated to return home sometime. The other two, the deceased two, will never return home. The small gal lightly touches on two of her other siblings who are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will discuss the consultation and show how I used the problem solving consultation style detailed by Alison Crumbie. This involves listening to the patients initial complaint and developing hypothetical diagnosis. Focused questioning and clinical examination and investigations will then be used to eliminate some of the initial hypotheses. The patients perspective of their problem will be addressed and the synthesis of gathered information will enable the practitioner to arrive at a differential diagnosis and to agree on a treatment plan with the patient so that they can manage their problem. My multiple hypotheses for this patient are presented in Table 1. Formulating an Inquiry StrategySue had told me that she had pain on passing urine and as I focused my questioning she told me her urine appeared darker in colour than normal and smelled different than usual. She described the pain as stinging and said that it was provoked by micturating and relieved a minute or so after she stopped urinating. I asked her to point to where the pain was in her abdomen and she indicated the suprapubic region. She gauged the pain to be level 6 on a pain scale of 0 10 without analgesia but did say it was relieved by analgesia and resolved to a feeling of pressure rather than pain at that time. Back/loin pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and frank haematuria are all more common with pylonephritis. Sue denied any of these symptoms which made it less likely as a diagnosis ultimately. . On enquiry Sue told me that she used Depo Provera injections for contraception and dysmenorrhoea and consequently did not menstruate. She also denied any spotting of blood. Her last injection was given in practice 40 days previously and by reviewing her notes I could see her history showed timely attendance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pakistan has been involved with the Taliban organization since their founding, and from the major support that they have given them, it can be considered that they had made the basis of most of their attacks. There were once again the letters arranged in the German QWERTZ layout and each letter had two sockets for an electrical lead to be connected to another letter. Finally there were three rotors in every Enigma Machine: the fast, the middle, and the slow. To add onto the complexity, there were 5 rotors to choose from. Each rotor would have 26 numbered ticks to represent the 26 letters in the alphabet and for every letter typed, the fast rotor would turn once. • 13. Statistical Weather Prediction And Regional Climate... One way nested Limited Area Models (LAMs) are used in numerical weather prediction and regional climate modelling to downscale coarse resolution global/regional simulations or analyses that are provided as the time evolving Lateral Boundary Conditions (LBC). The LAM integrations are sensitively dependent on infinitesimally small modifications. The so called twin simulations, i.e., LAM integrations identical in all respect, except having slightly different initial conditions, may with time lead to substantially different solutions. This phenomenon has been referred to as internal variability (IV) in the existing literature [e.g., Giorgi and Bi, 2000; Christensen et al., 2001; Rinke et al., 2004; Lucas Picher et al., 2008a; CrГ©tat et al., 2011; Done et al., 2014]. Internal variability is usually quantified in terms of the inter member standard deviation between the simulations pertaining to the different initial conditions. In extended range LAM integrations conducted over months to years, the IV varies with several factors that include the synoptic situation, season of a year, the size and position of the computational domain and the spatial and temporal scales under consideration. For computational domains centered over midlatitudes, IV is typically larger in summer [e.g., Caya and Biner, 2004], increases with the size of the computational domain [Alexandru et al., 2007; RapaiД‡ et al., 2011] and increases downstream with respect to the inflow lateral boundaries [e.g., ... • 14. Leadership And Cinematic Themes Of The Film And Media Introduction Leadership is commonly defined as an act of leading an organization or a group of people for some cause or purpose. In every field of life, reflection of leadership is evident, whether it s an organizational environment or some other social setting (Stewart, 2010). Humans live and work together to progress, and in this respect, one of the individuals has to take the lead and drive others too towards achieving success (Lintz, 2003). Similarly, the film and media also play a role in teaching the general public about how leadership is important and exercised in a setting. That being said, this purpose is aimed at presenting a leadership in film reflection through highlighting different leadership and cinematic themes. The reflection will primarily develop appreciation of the film through leadership in action. In this respect, the paper will talk about distinguishing the artistic means of music, imagery, costume, and historical footage etc. The paper will also talk about how the direction has used these elements to signify leadership bias and other issues. The effect of leader on organizational culture and vice versa will also be discussed, which will then be followed by a conclusion. The scholarly evidence will also be provided while presenting analysis. The film chosen for this purpose is Patton, which was released in 1970. The Detective Chief Inspector Of The Inspector Calls Not another sound is heard from the other end of the phone aside a small gasp and a few gentle, shaking breaths, before the blaring beep signals that the caller has just hung up. Now, enter Detective Chief Inspector Banks. His appearance denotes a man of wealth; a portly fellow with quite the beer gut. He could perhaps be described as abrasive or as lacking in regard for others, with qualities of a dictator, or as dominant, being ever one to take charge. He seemed to gain little happiness from his position, ever one for being pessimistic, or simply a realist as he tells everyone, and is an avid gambler with no other relations. After the line ends the call, Chief Banks sighs, rubbing a hand along the stubble that lines his chin, slow and harsh. A groan escapes his lips along with the chair as he stands, hands fumbling along his desk until he manages to gather what he was after: keys and packet of cigarettes. As soon as Banks stands, another movement within the room is to be heard also. This is Detective Chief Rivers, a lean and awkward young man of 6 2 . He has jet black hair and a long nose, and his personality is almost the opposite of Banks ; he is eager and obedient, submissive and optimistic, and always willing to give his time to assist the aid of the Chief, whom he regards with the utmost respect for. In the mind of the Greeks, a hero was a mortal who had succeeded beyond the normal scope of human experience, in which received worship as if he or she was a god. Examples of these heroes are Asclepius, the first doctor; Dionysus, the creator of Greek fraternities; and Hercules, the infamous monster killer. While these people completed honorable deeds, other people who had committed crimes were also known as heroes. These people include Oedipus and Medea who also received worship after their deaths. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we know everything about ancient heroes, certain heroes past and present are certainly cryptic. Those who looked up to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson as heroes would be surprised to know that they once held slaves. Heroism in the ancient age was much different because of the fact that you could be a hero if you did something that was thought to be impossible, although it might be a criminal deed. In modern society, heroes are only looked at as someone who accomplished something of great importance. We as a society look at Navy SEALs or Army Rangers as heroes, while the definition was much more expansive in ancient society. While politicians might be looked at as a hero to certain people, others most definitely do not view them as this because of the corrupt aura that surrounds them. The cynicism in individuals today is much different, then when the ancient civilizations were deciding who were heroes. Heroism has been an ever changing definition in the world. The study of such heroes and heroism helps modern day society shape the world. Many people might look up to Odysseus or Achilles as their hero, while a more modern man might look up to Jim Brown or Jackie Robinson as a hero. If it were not for the ancient Greeks, the idea of a hero might not exist in our society. Thankfully the idea does exist and these heroes help motivate us to strive for a better life. • 18. A Personal Assessment Of Dasani, The Invisible Child Essay Introduction This paper will be the second personal assessment of Dasani, the invisible child, through four different theories. These theories include Fowler s Stages of Faith Development, Stimulation Theories, Control Theories and the Practice Orientation versus Culture of Poverty. Each theory will be broken down into it s own section of synopsis and then assessment of Dasani to give a better understanding of her spiritual and cultural dimensions and her physical environment. Fowler s Stages of Faith Development Synopsis James Fowler developed his stages of faith after conduction in depth interviews of 359 people. The sample subjects were predominately white, with equal numbers of males and females and included a wide range of ages, from three and a half to 84 years old. Fowler s interviews consisted of 30 plus questions regarding the subject s life experiences, relationships, values, commitments and religion. After analyzing the responses, Fowler placed each subject in one of six faith stages. The responses indicated that as the subject s age increased, so did their stage of faith (Hutchison, 2015). Fowler saw faith as greater than religious faith and viewed it as a universal aspect of human existence (Hutchison, 2015). The ultimate environment is an important element of Fowler s theory. He saw faith as not only an internal image but also how one relates to that image. Faith is not an unchangeable image or idea, but a way of being. The six stages of ... Simple tasks are easily forgotten by hyperactive kids, creating a lot of tension between kids and parents, a pattern that follows through with Jack and his mother ( Kessler np). A common trait in children with ADHD is forgetfulness a distractibility ( Kessler np). This could prove why when Jack left to sell the cow he quickly forgot what his mother wanted in exchange for the cow and was to distracted by the offer of magic beans to give his mother s wishes another thought. At the man s first offer of normal beans, Jack was very smart and denied the offer, but when the man threw in the word magic Jack immediately responds, Really? said Jack. You don t say so (Grimm np). One factor in the mother s anger is how naive Jack is. To be fair, Jack s mother should of had the sense not to give her son the task of selling their best cow for money, but you can understand the anger she feels when her son comes home with supposed magic beans instead of the much needed money. But the anger is easily forgotten when the beans begin to bring her fortune as well. Instead of shaming Jack for being foolish enough to trade the best cow for beans, she begins enjoy reaping the benefits of his thievery. The album was released in 2010 following the rapper s controversial VMA incident involving Taylor Swift and Beyonce and in the midst of Kanye s struggling relationship (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West). Kanye explores the unspoken sorrows of fame and love in MBDTF. Kanye opens his fifth studio album with the song Dark Fantasy and a monologue from fellow artist, Nicki Minaj. The hook of Dark Fantasy repeats Can we get much higher? So high (Kanye West). West seems to believe that at this point in his career he has reached the peaks of the hip hop and rap industry. This hook is followed by many other boastful lines such as an announcement of his new Lamborghini and arrogant statements on his supermodel girlfriend and designer clothes. Due to the pompous nature of Dark Fantasy, it established itself as one of my least favorite songs on the album. However, there is one line in the song that I actually enjoyed and found powerful, Sorry for the night demons that still visit me, The plan was to drink until the pain over, But what s worse, the pain of the hangover? In 1775, the American Revolutionary War was fought for independence; In 1865, the American Civil War was fought to end slavery. Although no wars were fought, many battles were waged for women s rights. The struggle for women s rights begin in the mid late 1800s at a time when women were not allowed to vote or own property. Women, as with African Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the voices of women across this nation have been silenced. Some people think that the crude language used in television serves no purpose and shows that a program was made by a bunch of idiots, intellectually, who cannot think of anything intelligent to say. On the other side of the spectrum, people could argue that vulgar language in movies or television serves as a way to make fun or to interpret stupidity in our society. In the comedic movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, the main characters, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny sneak into an R rated animated musical called Terrance and Phillip Asses of Fire , which uses a high volume of crude language. In this, racism becomes a very prominent and complex theme. In some way racism impacted every facet of his life. The novel highlights the drastic difference in the ability for curiosity and personal development and questioning in his public educationin a poor area versus his continued education at Howard University a historically black private college. What was the main cause of these extremely different experiences, socioeconomics, institutional culture, educational style? Coates spent his childhood years in a poor Baltimore public school, a system that mostly meant always packing an extra number 2 pencil and working quietly (Coates 25). He grew up believing that The world had no time for the childhoods of black boys and girls (Coates 25). School was not to him a place of education but rather an institution whose purpose was to train the students to obey and conform. Unfortunately, the reality of the American prisonsystem is just as troubling as the dated stereotypes surrounding it. Despite its success in keeping dangerous offenders off the streets, the modern prison system fails in fulfilling its original design of restoring criminals to being productive members of society. It has proven to be an inefficient and ineffective system by focusing on punishment over rehabilitation, leading to issues such as overcrowding, wasting taxpayers money and a high recidivismrate. As children, most people learn obedience through punishment. When we do something wrong one or several privileges are taken away by our parents. Depending on the severity of a mistake, such punishment may last for a very short time or in some cases it may even be permanent. Many parents inflict the common punishment of not allowing their children to watch television for a certain amount of time. Archduke Francis (Franz) Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria Hungary, was assassinated on June 28 of 1914 by a Serbian nationalist group that was called Unity or Death , more commonly known as the Black Hand, due to the symbol they used. • 39. Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness , (Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well. Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now he has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even more so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors. The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties, is during a brief encounter with a highway policeman. As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a white card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption implies that Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or not. It hints back to the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled with, so much that Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61). Thus, his doubleness as a mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch, Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes Gatsby s dealings in shady business. This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors about Gatsby might ... Hart Crane s Influence On Make It New Among the innumerable modernist poets that successfully encompass Ezra Pound s slogan, Make It New, Hart Crane best embodies this mindset with his innovative poetry. However, Make It New does not imply that the ideas must be completely original. Very well read, Crane and his poetry were influenced by many, ranging from foreign writers, such as William Shakespeare and Charles Baudelaire, to other writers of his time, such as T.S. Eliot. By merging already recognized ideas of renowned writers along with his own creativity, Crane conveys a sense of familiarity, allowing readers to grasp onto traces of acquainted aspects as they attempt to make sense of his otherwise profound poetry. Eliot s The Wasteland and Walt Whitman s Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, but the poem itself does not contain words or phrases that directly correlate to those specific poets and their respective poems. Instead, the overall atmosphere of the poem may remind readers of Eliot and Whitman. First of all, once again according to the anthology, To Brooklyn Bridge is a hopeful reply to The Wasteland, where Eliot writes of a fractured world, a perspective Crane shares, but his response paints a more optimistic picture. Crane accomplishes this by using the Brooklyn Bridge as its prime symbol... to restore meaning and unity to a fragmented and dissonant modern world (Axelrod 626). The Bridge is a manmade effort that is capable of connecting the fragmented world. This hope is also reminiscent of Whitman s ideas of an idealistic and unified America. Yet, a more significant influence from Whitman is the theme of repressed homosexuality that is present in the poem. With both poets being homosexual, it is no surprise that Crane was influenced by Whitman. The second to last stanza ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inhaling second hand smoke is an unavoidable consequence of being in the vicinity of smokers, exposing non smokers to the same harmful chemicals as those who voluntarily engaged in it. While acknowledging the selfish nature of second hand smoking, governments in various countries like Singapore have put in place smoke free laws that restricts smokers from smoking in certain public places ( Smoking prohibition, 2013). Hipparchus did mistaken Uranus for a star. Hipparchus may have recorded it as a star for his star catalogue that was later incorporated into Ptolemy s Almagest (1). William Herschel first observed Uranus on March 13, 1781 from the garden of his house at 19 New King Street in Bath, Somerset, England. Herschel engaged in a series of observations on the parallax of the fixed stars. Using a telescope of his own design. When William first wrote on his journal about the discovery that he made, he said that he had found a comet. He believed that he had found a comet, but he was also comparing it to a planet. So, William was wondering if what he found was a comet or if it was a planet. William Herschel wrote to Astronomer Royal, Nevil Maskelyne saying: I don t know what to call it. It is as likely to be a regular planet moving in an orbit nearly circular to the sun as a Comet moving in a very eccentric ellipsis. I have not yet seen any coma or tail to it (2). It is research that gives us the ability to accurately observe broad pools of student, respond to data, and thus become better educators. Without research, we wouldn t be able to have great standard curriculums. But as I learned in this section, research is complicated, detailed, and often labor intensive. There are many ways to gather information. Each of the many data gathering techniques has their own pros and cons. Understanding the many different types of data gathering is important, as it keeps us flexible and ready to enact effectively upon any situation. These types of data gathering techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and surveys. Although interviews are not always economic and possible to conduct on broad numbers of students, they are probably my favorite type of data gathering technique because they are personal and therefore much more likely to be accurate. The process of interviewing involves an interviewer sitting down with an interviewee to ask questions. The questions and responses can be more complicated than those of other techniques such as tests or questionnaires. This is due to the ability of the interviewee to answer in more complicated terms due to the barrier of transmission being so low. It only takes talking for the interviewee to communicate the info. This is opposed to the writing of the questionnaire or the way a student is restricted to only a few number of responses on a test. Also, an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. The Environmental Effects Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill The Exxon Valdez Oil spill in 1989 had ran into Bligh Reef in Prince William Sounds in Alaska; 11 million gallons of crude oil was spilled and eventually covered 1,000 miles of coastline. Many animals were affected and were killed such as sea otters and sea birds. The spill had a detrimental effect on the food chain. Over time the sea water started to convert the oil into an emulsion that looks like mousse. This emulsion is very difficult to remove from the sea water. The oil spill had spread southwest because of harsh winds. It spread to the Alaska Peninsula from Prince William Sound about 750km (470 miles) in trajectory. The clean up efforts came from the U.S. Coast Guard, Exxon, and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation. The effects are still seen today on the shore line of Eleanor Island, Alaska where if you dig a hole in the ground oil will seep into the hole. Animals were found covered in oil and were imminently tended to be cleaned and taken care of until the water was clean enough for them to live. Many otters and birds were found dead and covered in oil. Clean up involved power washing rocks on the shore line. Support vessels also came to the aid of the Exxon ship. Oil was also contained with a containment boom, and DC 6 planes sprayed dispersants in the water. High winds pushed crude oil and it was found up to Squire Island. A friend of my friend s family, a few years older than us, brought his surfboard with him and asked us if we would want to try surfing out before dinner gets there. We were both athletic kids and never tried surfing before, being that we were from Ohio, so we jumped at the opportunity to try it. I was first to try riding a wave, and I was able to stand up and successfully ride it all the way in to shore. My friend tried after and he was also successful his first attempt. This continued as we rode 9 10 more waves in, when we got bored we both said we were going to ride one more wave in, then be done. Little did I know my life changing moment was approaching. I stood up and rode the wave in just like all of the times before. The ocean wind was blowing in my face as the surfboard was gliding over the water. As I approached the shore the board slightly started to turn as I lost my balance and went plunging into the water. • 51. Reflection Paper On Dance Performance On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills, I observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A, Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker, with the long cast of dancers. The production was pleasing, and would not have been believable without the work from production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is played out in eight different danceroutines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken, Things Are A Stirrin , and the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women, Exotica, Strength In Numbers, and Makina. This fall dance concert was filled with joy, darkness, torture, culture, and women s rights, right when you sit down and observe through all 8 dance performances. It would have been 9 dance routines but the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury, which made a putt off. Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second performance, Xtra Xtra and Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were different themes because Xtra Xtra had the dancers in radiant colors and seemed to be energetic, whereas the performers in Scar Tissue were clothed in black attire, such as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still energetic. This brought to my attention that the whole dance performances were contrast to each other. Throughout the routines of the dance concert, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
