Trapped In A Snow Globe Analysis
Trapped In A Snow Globe I was on my wonderful trip at disney world enjoying some time at the rock
n roller coaster. When i had a great idea to go to the it s a small world ride because it was indoor and it
was really cold out here since it was the winter. I started and the dolls were singing,as I continued
down the water. Then I saw a rat, but since I was in disney world and their mascot is a mouse, I
thought I would say Meeska mooska Mickey Mouse! Since that s what they said say in Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse. Then, all of a sudden the floor dropped beneath me and I fell in a room of dolls. I looked
around looking for anything but dolls and I saw a door so I opened it. On a table I saw a belt with a
tomato on it. I put on the belt and when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

crash, then a tumble. It was strange that I could breath breathe perfectly fine there. I looked around for
anything interesting or a way to get out, but I saw nothing. I continued to go straight and I saw a
monumental sized boy fishing for whatever it is that you fish for on the moon. I started screaming to
get his attention and I did I really expected him to be more friendly. because he grabbed me by the
shirt, and hung me on his fishing hook, and down I went into some winter wonderland.....W well not

found a gargantuar sized cottage so I decided to go inside and ask for help. I pushed and pushed until
the door opened, . then, I heard a THUMP, a STOMP, and a BANG coming towards the door. Who s
in my swamp! A booming slow voice said. I ran to find a place to hide, but the only thing I saw was a
glass dome with rubber around the inside if of it. The dome had a green man and a green woman
inside sitting around a fireplace. then, I wondered if Ii was in shrek, . there was a green man, someone

Summary Of The Essay Not Rants
Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response
There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero
genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down
the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films,
characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch
Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch
Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big
name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more
actors being roped in to playing a specific character.
Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is
seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the
characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re
supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you.
Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In any case, based on the title, is about the changing role of celebrity that the uptick of superhero film
franchises have brought about. Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of
the 50s. Marvel with the MCU (and, Fox with X Men and DC with their attempts at catchup) are
working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television,
comics, and those old serials from forever ago. Maybe it s time that the nature of stardom changes,
what with the steady rise of nerd culture into the mainstream. After all, the geeks shall inherit the

My Goals Of The Time Management
After taking the time management quiz, I received a total score of seven out of ten. My score of seven
reflects good time management skills, however it does state overall it could be improved in minor
ways.
In regards to the quiz, the first area of improvement would involve to slow down. I do always tend to
feel I am in a hurry and rushed to do things. Whether it s in the morning trying to get myself ready for
work, getting my son ready for school and out the door, to ensuring I leave work on time to beat traffic
and arrive at his aftercare before 6om and have to pay a few. I tend to also feel hurried in the evening
as I need to get home, provide dinner for my son before we turn around and back out the door to
attend his karate class. A second area of improvement of my time management would be feeling less
guilty if I take time for myself and/ or my family instead of completing school work or studying.
Although I do purposefully spend time with my family, sometimes I feel that it may end up being too
much time, particularly not productive family time. I feel that I may end up spending too much time
getting caught up in doing things around the house that I do not put in an adequate amount of time for
my school work. This is my first semester back in college after 20 years and I am still in the process of
finding a good balance between, work, personal and school life. Lastly, I should try to improve the
overall feeling that I work better under pressure. I tend to

Youth Culture Vs Pop Culture
Everything changes overtime. After World War II, America s birth rate exploded with more than 65
million children being born. As they grew, technology advanced and grew along with them. Regular
television broadcasts had begun at this time and radio stations also started broadcasting recorded
music, news, weather, sports, and talk shows. As time passed, technology had evolved immensely.
Teens today have changed with they years and now see things differently as they did back then. These
teens also have many similarities that have stayed with them in the young culture. After the war, the
youth had grown to have more liberty and now have a strong voice in the culture today.
In today s youth, teens and young adults do have some differences from the adolescence in the 1950s.
The juvenility today truly relies on technology so much that it influences the culture. With the
technology acquired, many social media apps and networks greatly impact the teens today. Trends and
hashtags become famous easily by teens making a simple video of something viral. Instagram allows

Rock n Roll was really popular at this time and was teen s favorite music genre at the time. With the
heavy beats and attention grabbing rhythm, rock n roll appealed to teens. The young adults would buy
recordings from famous artists, such as Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, and Bill Haley and the Comets.
Later in 1956, teenagers found their first rock n roll hero in music and movie star, Elvis Presley. With
all the new music coming out, not every teen could afford to buy new albums or to listen to new music
due to poverty. The 1950s saw a large expansion of the middle class and at least one in five americans
lived below the poverty line. As poverty became a big problem in America, juvenile delinquency
became another issue where the United States saw a 45 percent rise in these crime

Warm Up Before Singing Research Paper
Warming up before a vocal session is a good exercise in extending a lifelong healthy singing voice.
Always warm up and cool down before and after a singing session. If you don t warm up and cool

Creation In Genesis And Genesis
How the world people are living in right now was created in the beginning? Humankind has been
asking this question throughout the centuries, and some people throw some answers to this question.
People in Israel answer that God created the heaven and earth in the beginning while Babylonians
answer that Marduk establishes the natural order and dwelling for gods after win a battle. The reason
that these two ethnic groups respond differently is because they have been walked through different
history and worldview. Enuma Elish, which is the Babylonian creation epic, and the book of Genesis
in the Bible, what Israelites believe, shows little similar sense but totally different idea of creation.
From the first part of each writing, book of Genesis and Enuma Elish, the similarity and difference can
be found. In the beginning, the world in both Genesis and Enuma Elish does not have shape. There is
nothing but just emptiness before creation in Genesis: In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the
Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (New International Version 1:1 2). Enuma Elish also does
not have things to be called but just gods are existed: When on high no name was given to heaven /
Nor below was the netherworld called by name, / Primeval Apsu was their progenitor. / And matrix
Tiamat was she who bore them all, / They were mingling their waters together, / No canebrake was
intertwined nor thicket matted close. / When no gods at all had been brought forth, Nor called by
names, non destinies ordained (Enuma Elish Tablet 1 1 8). Furthermore, both God and gods are
staying in the water in the beginning of the creation. It is interesting that the water is mentioned in
both writings. However, although there are some similarities in both, there is a radical difference
inherent between both stories. Genesis is written and fiducially focusing on the one and only God that
no other god is mentioned. It simply says God creates the world. In contrast, Enuma Elish mentions
two names Apsu and Tiamat and explains that they are the parents of other gods. Two books are
divided into two different ideas of monotheism and

Role Of Frugality In Colonial America
Writing Assignment Option 1C Students have often debated whether a morality based or profit based
approach proved more influential in shaping colonial American economies. Colonial Americans are
influenced by both moral and profit in their economies, when taking into consideration industry, care,
frugality, or knowledge. A morality based approach takes into consideration ethics and values, while a
profit based approach focuses on making as much money as possible. Although there were ways
colonial American economies were influenced by profit, colonial American economies were more
influenced by morals due to the features and values of their economic system. To begin with, people

This can be seen in luxurious lifestyles such as William Byrd s, in which he constantly reads, such as

explaining that it is important to be able to be advised, for without that one cannot be helped, and
therefore cannot learn. It was important to be able to learn in order to know what things lead to wealth.
For example, agriculture was a vital aspect of the colonial economy. It was important to note that
Staple Crops, such as tobacco, wheat, and corn, were the crops that helped provide a foundation in
which the colonies were able to grow rapidly. This is because most Puritans were farmers, and in order
for them to keep up with the economy and obtain more wealth, they had to take a morality based

streaming members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and

Business Risks In the annual 10 K report, Netflix mentions many business risks, but I chose to only
state the following three:
If Netflix s efforts to attract and retain members are not successful, the business will be adversely
affected;
Changes in how we market our service could adversely affect our marketing expenses and
membership levels may be adversely affected;
Any significant disruption in or unauthorized access to its computer systems or those of third parties
that Netflix utilize in its operations, including those relating to cybersecurity or arising from cyber
attacks, could result in a loss or degradation of service, unauthorized disclosure of data, including
member and corporate information, or theft of intellectual property, including digital content assets,

Dale A Jerk Analysis
Dale is a human being, like anyone else. However, he s a bit different from others. He s the kind of
person that cuts in line or the kind that vents his tantrum to his partner. We call these people: jerks. So
is Dale a jerk? A jerk is an individual that is foolish, naive, egotistical, as well as unjust. Here I ll be
explaining the views of Schwitzgebel, Polemarchus, and Thrasymachus of being a jerk. Schwitzgebel
defines a jerk as being ignorant of their self serving tendencies. An example of this is parking in two
spots in a lot, disregarding other people s need to park as well. A jerk would not know that their selfish
actions would affect others, therefore they do not know that they are a jerk themselves. Not only do
they lack attention to other s well being, they also tend to view other s in a negative light. As
Schwitzgebel said, Jerks see the world through goggles that dim others humanity. Surrounded by
fools, creeps, stuck up snobs, smug assholes, and, of course, jerks, Schwitzgebel associates this view
as a jerk s view; as most of the world do not see people negatively. Thus, Dale s lashing out on his
partner and his glares at his neighbors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polemarchus speaks of justice in The Republic as someone who helps a friend and does harm to those
who are their enemies, including giving everyone their due (p. 711). Socrates does refute that it is
never right to harm anyone, (p. 713) and it s unjust to render whatever is due to enemies (p, 711) if
they mean to do harm meaning to give back ownership of something a person had, letting them harm
another in the process. As a result, maltreatment and being rude is unjust. For that reason, being a jerk
is unjust as a jerk qualifies as being a rude, self absorbed individual. Dale fits this description perfectly
since he shows many signs of his disregard of others well being such as taking out his anger onto his
partner a sign of not helping a

`` Animal Rights, Human Wrongs `` By Tom Regan
Everyday individuals attempt to utilize a argument to influence individuals on a certain point which
intrigues them or they are attempting to demonstrate to the world the true importance of something. In
Animal Rights,Human Wrongs. writer Tom Regan discuss shows us how whales and many different
animals are murdered on Earth utilizing his knowledge, records he observed and even realistic
accounts of how some of these creatures are tormented and slaughtered by people. In his arguement he
utilizes clear example of ethos because of his subtle descriptions and facts in light of his encounters.
Another supporting detail in his arguement are the terms logos and pathos in which he utilizes these to
clarify observer records and facts of what is done to the creatures and he uses meetings of other
individuals to give descriptions on how all killings happen.
Regan is extremely educated in the way that he comprehends what the laws state and which zones the
majority of these killings happen in. Toward the start of his contention he starts by discussing how
certain types of creatures are protected by agreement of the member nations of the lnternational
Whaling Commission (Regan 555). In this quote, Regan utilizes ethos by expressing which
organization of people are depended upon for perserving the species that s facing extinction. He
provides us clear details on how the butchers of these whales work and he offers a perspective of how

Film Analysis Of Mean Girls
Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters is a coming of age movie which follows the high school journey
of Cady Heron. Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady must survive
high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa. Mean Girls
addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic manner, making it a
movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness. Moving from a secluded
friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the torture that is high school. She
meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the school. Not academically, but socially.
She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high school with no sense of how ruthless high school
can be. Even though Mean Girls highly exaggerates high school, I think the way they did so was super
effective in telling a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the animal world which is the
world Cady used to come from when living in Africa, to girl world which is where she lives now. As I
see it, animal world is full of savage creatures and harm where all things are resolved with violence
whereas in girl world, to survive you must be sneaky and malicious which were all things Cady had to
learn to adapt to. I think this comparison was used to show how when we are thrown into a new
situation, we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls,

Describe the three great Native American civilizations that existed in the Americas prior to European

Historians believe that the population of Native Americans within South America surpassed that of
North America, as such the three great Native American civilizations were located in this region. The
Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas all created societies with unique cultures in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico,
and Peru respectively. Each made strides in trade and science while maintaining their large

As a result of living during the Renaissance, Columbus was privy to many of the technological
advancements of the time which made the journey to explore the Western Hemisphere possible. For
instance, Europeans began to adopt different inventions from the Chinese such as the sailing compass,
making it easier to navigate the seas. The Renaissance also brought better map making and
shipbuilding techniques, both of which allowed Columbus to make a safer voyage across the Atlantic.

Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Analysis
In an environment plagued by incessant consumerism and perpetual egocentrism, one can easily begin
to feel disconnected from other members of society. It is becoming exceedingly difficult to have truly
meaningful relationships with anyone by cause of the cold, systematic, and covetous fashion in which
our world is governed. Due to the lack of feeling a common unity, many families become disjointed
and dysfunctional. There is, however, a way in which people can once again sense profound
interconnectedness. Through distinct and intimate experiences with others, an individual s sense of
societal separation is replaced with an intense perception of harmony. A film that perfectly
encapsulates this phenomenon is the Academy Award winning comedy, Little Miss Sunshine
(Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, 2006). The film tells the story of an idiosyncratic family which
travels across the country in order get Olive (Abigail Breslin), an aspiring beauty queen, to the Little

The Holocaust In The Shawl By Cynthia Ozick
The Shawl is a historical short story written by Cynthia Ozick and was published in 1989. Cynthia
Ozick set the story back in 1940 when Jews were oppressed politically and socially and eventually
confined throughout Eastern Europe. The author s intentions were to circulate the short story around
the horrific effects of the Holocaust. The main character in The Shawl is a Jewish woman named
Rosa, a victim of the Holocaust. Also, featured in the short story were two Jewish girls named Stella,
Rosa s niece, and Magda, Rosa s daughter. In The Shawl , Ozick uses the characters to show the harsh

The camps would get full with women and children so the guards would kill them off either in groups
or one by one. They would starve the women and children to death by not giving them any food or
water until their bodies quit functioning. Just like when Rosa feared of losing Magda due to lack of
food. Disease also played a key factor in the toll number of deaths in the holocaust. Women and
children were brought to new places throughout eastern Europe and exposed to many diseases that
could kill a whole population. Also the unsanitary conditions of the camps lead to many diseases such
as: Typhoid, Dysentery, Pellagra, Marasmus, and lice. Cynthia Ozick shares in the story about the lice
exposure in the camp Rosa was in and how Magda was exposed to it.(put quote about lice) .Of course
in the camps they didn t get supplies to treat the diseases therefore it would end up painfully killing
them. By far the worst horrifying group killing s were the gas chambers. Nazi guard s would pick out
different Jews women or children and take them into a dark chamber. They would make the Jews strip
down and lock them in a room. At first they would think they were getting a shower, but unfortunately
it was toxic gases that would suffocate them to death. Public executions brought fear into many Jews
eyes of the thought of being shot or hung. Surviving mothers that lost their children in the Holocaust
will always keep that traumatizing moment in their head. In Rosa s case she had to encounter the
traumatizing death of her daughter Magda. Rosa walked away for a short minute to retrieve Magda s
blanket and when she came back Magda was gone. When she found her she was being held by two
guards that threw her against an electrical fence. Rosa could not even go mourn over her baby s dead
body without the fear of being shot. Therefore the only thing she could do was shove the shawl in her
mouth to keep her from screaming.

by allowing mothers of unwanted newborns to leave their babies in the sisters care. Due to the

A decrease in world GDP occurred in many countries, specifically in developing countries. Imports
have also declined significantly in importing countries. This was obvious in countries such as China,
Taiwan, Mexico, Egypt and Russia. it was stated that GDP fell to 3.8% in the U.S. The impact of
recession on employment may not be felt for some time. Investigation in Britain shows that low
skilled, low educated workers and the immature are in a weak position to unemployment in a
downturn. It took Britain five years for unemployment to go back to its initial levels. From 2000 to
2003, the Federal Reserve lowered their target rates. They then raised the funds rate significantly
between July 2004 and July 2006. This added to an increase in number of years to the adjustable rate
mortgage rates and made it more expensive for homeowners. As a result, this may have also
contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble. Gross Domestic Product declined at an in the last
two years in the United States. When GDP collapses, economic growth will also plunge. This is as a
result of fewer goods being manufactured and therefore the rate of exports will reduce. It is said that
when exports decrease, it will not have sufficient funds to accommodate any growth in the economy
what so ever. As a result in the decline in GDP, employment rate will sooner or later begin to drop. As
a result of the credit crunch, consumers have less purchasing power therefore

Night And Fog Comparative Essay
The more difference of watching a documentary versus watching a fiction film is how the viewer
choses to interpret the scenes in the film. In a documentary the viewer looks that the images in the
film as part of educational material that is meant to analyzed and studied, while in a fiction film
because the film is preordained to be entertaining the viewer is more likely to allow the scenes to
provoke emotions and relate to some aspect of the viewers life. For example the film Life is beautiful
it s a fiction film about the holocaust, the film expresses some of the same main points as the
documentary Night and Fog also about the holocaust. They both provide two important scenes, the

Beautiful as the allies break the doors of the concentration camp, little Joshua is filled with excitement
as he believes he has won the game him and his father have been playing with in the concentration

Analysis Of Tick Tock By Brian Eno
Tick Tock is an ambient piece of music that was made as a direct influence of Brian Eno s four part
ambient series of albums. 2/1 in particularly from Music for Airports is a reference for the aesthetics
of the sound design in the song which has a lot of darkened textures and is almost lullaby esque in
nature. A lot of randomness is often found within the ambient genre as a piece is meant to demonstrate
an ever evolving state. This is hard to express in a one minute piece however, so a constant tempo was
decided upon for the piece. To introduce some kind of randomness into it, the vocal part begins
playing on different beats through out the evolution of the music. Minimalist music had a massive
influence of Eno s music and I also wanted to take the aesthetics of that genre and try to apply it into
my music. As a result of this, only using the three selected sounds allowed me to avoid overcrowding
the piece which isn t meant to be imposing in nature i.e. background music.
The sound is derived from a vocal part saying tick tock and heavily laden with a clear long hall reverb
to give a huge depth to the voice. A slight delay on the voice is introduced halfway through the piece
to represent the ever evolving state in ambient music. The piano sound is a grand piano mixed with a
long hall reverb with a soft attack and medium long release to produce a dream like characteristic as
well as provide a deeper spacial texture to the soundscape. The third sound was a string sound that

Misconceptions of Media Violence Essay
The sense of what is right and wrong comes from within and is not influenced by what is showed on
television, or any other source of media for that matter. Advertising a product such as a George
Forman grill is one thing... I myself have fallen for countless ads and sales pitches, but to use the
media as a scapegoat for drug addiction, rape, and even murder is unfair and quite ridiculous. One
might be influenced to buy a cologne, or a grill, but to be influenced to kill someone because of a
violent show or song is non sense. Violence is in our genealogy right along with our other primitive
instincts we are now trying overcome with our logic and higher thinking. People killed, sexually
assaulted, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have learned that if you live by the gun, you shall die by it. It is how you take the information in
and not just by jumping the bridge your friend jumped. I have read that Hitler and Napoleon both
enjoyed classical music, a sort of opposite of what rap is reputed as, and I believe they butchered
people all the same. Hitler played classical music while he dictated hateful ideas to his secretary that
was later to become his first book, Mein
Kampf. Classical music could not be blamed for what they did, and the same should go for any other
genre of music. Can rap and its predecessor rock be blamed for what they did?
Well let s ask O Reilly.
Violent movies and T.V. shows have been a contraversial topic for a long time. My two cents about
them have probably been said over and over again, but often ignored as unjustified. It is of course a
free country and protesters cannot stop a violent movie to come out because of the constitution, but
they argue that someone has to draw the line. Violence in programs are said to lead to violence in real
life. Is someone stupid enough tocause violence simply because they saw it on television? If so, are
they fit to live amongst us and not in mental institutions? We are not monkies that are only capable of
mimicking each other and what we see. We are still mammals but much more sophisticated in

Vitamin D plays an integral role in multiple systems in...
Vitamin D plays an integral role in multiple systems in the human body, from its function in Calcium
and Phosphorus metabolism, to modulation of the immune and reducing the risk of cardiovascular
diseases (Grober et al. 2013). Unfortunately, factors such as diet, geographic position, and skin
pigmentation are contributing to an increase of prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency around the world,
consequently leading to a higher rate of associated illnesses. Namely, Cardiovascular Diseases such as
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Hypertensive Vascular Disease, and Myocardial Infarction have been
shown to be more common in people with lower levels of Vitamin D in their system (Lavie, Lee

2013).Calcitriol inhibits the production of the Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) a hormone which plays a
role in stimulating Calcitriol synthesis in the kidneys (Zittermann 2006). Calcidiol and Calcitriol are
both catabolised to inactive metabolites to also regulate the amount of 1,2(OH)2D (Reid Bolland
2012).
During Vitamin D deficiency, PTH still attempts to maintain a relatively similar concentration of
Calcitriol compared to original levels, which would require an increase in PTH (Grober et al. 2013).
Hence, the better indicator of Vitamin D status and deficiency is Calcidiol (Zittermann 2006).

Multi-Generational Workforce
Today s working environment has experienced a major transformation over the last decade,
particularly in terms of population diversity in the workforce. There are currently four main
generations dominating the workforce, they are made up of Silents, Baby Boomers, Generation X and
Generation Y. It is expected that in the coming decades there will be further changes with emergence
of newer generations, and slower removal of older generations from organizations as pension age
increases. Understanding differences between the generations, and learning to adapt their management
practices is critical to building a successful multigenerational workplace. I would like farther explain
each generation s attributes and their effects on the workforce. ... Show more content on

A report published by Adecco on workplace revolution outlined Gen Y s work ethics and behaviors.
According to the report, they enjoy a work life balance, akin to Gen X, and prefer to work with bright
and creative people. They are participative as opposed to directive, enjoy multi tasking and are goal
oriented. They are also considered the most educated and self aware generation in employment.
According to an Ernest Young report on the rise of young managers in the workplace, this generation
were not considered to be team players and have an attitude of entitlement. This was also noted by
Jean Twenge in her book Generation me. In terms of management, they are considered inclusive
leaders and enjoy diversification and input when making decisions. The future generation of workers,
according to Amy Glass, are referred to as generation Z. Generation Z are those born approximately
after 1995 and are even more reliant on new technology and in particular communication
technologies. There is little knowledge yet of this generation in terms of attitude and characteristics in
the workplace given that the eldest of this generation are now coming into their late teens. In the next
decade however, we can expect to see this generation joining the workforce. The Next Generation of
Workers written by Lily Guthrie of The Ken Blanchard Companies, Office of the Future, highlights
the importance of awareness and

Mischaracterization Of Cinderella
Cinderella was created from an old folk tale by Charles Perrault in 1867 which was later modified by
the Grimm Brothers. The elements of the story like the fairy godmother, the pumpkin coach, and the
glass slipper made it famous. The story pointed out that Cinderella, a kindhearted and patient young
girl, was abused by her stepfamily after the death of her parents. Up till the end of the story, she stayed
humble and forgiving even though her life was turned upside down when she married the prince in her
kingdom. Cinderella is considered the most retold fairytale of all as it has been adapted through the
years (The Mischaracterization of Cinderella, 2015).

These girls will create a prince charming concept in which prince charming is tall, dark, and
handsome (Steinzeig, 2012). When this situation is not treated, this may lead to a psychological
dependency syndrome called the Cinderella Complex (Wang and Liao, n.d.).
According to Wang and Liao (n.d.), Cinderella complex is a psychological dependency syndrome in
which women unconsciously depend on others (i.e., men) for their source of happiness and a sense of
self worth. These women grew up believing that they need to be rescued by someone (i.e., prince
charming) or an external force (i.e., magical powers) in order for a change in their lives.
If little girls are going to grow up like this, then the fight for antifeminism would be useless.
According to Valterra (2015), women having Cinderella Complex allow themselves to become
passive, since there will be someone/something to take care of them. In addition, once prince
charming leaves their lives, they become pieces of a confused, angry, and lonely person. Thus, the
future generation will be at risk because the children developed a dependency system, instead of an
independent success on his/her own

Genetically Modified Food
When I was a kid, science teacher taught me Genetically Modified Food is the research of the future
and will lead to solving the famine issues of the future. I heard lots of scientists were researching the
Genetically Modified Food and that they had already ended the experiment. So I thought no one
would have to bear hunger. Nowadays, despite the progress on Genetically Modified Food, many
people continue to suffer from famine. A lot of Genetically Modified Food comes to the market but
they do not affect the market price enough to completely solve world hunger. Furthermore, there are
various ethical issues concerning the use of Genetically Modified Food. In this essay, I would like to
discuss these ethical issues by first discussing the current debate of Genetically Modified Food s
effects to human body, the current practices involving Genetically Modified Food, and why this
controversy warrants labeling of Genetically Modified Food to help the consumers make informed
decisions of what type of food they are buying.
Today, some people do not even realize that the products what they put in the shopping basket are
actually Genetically Modified Foods. The groceries that are highly modified are Canola oil, milk, soy
bean and corn. Specifically, the soy bean and corn are the most consumed Genetically Modified Foods
in the supermarkets. In 2000, the United States Department of Agriculture approximated that 25

Josh Waitzkin In Searching For Bobby
In the movie, Searching for Bobby Fischer, the main character, Josh Waitzkin, had many exemplary
moments that defined his character. Determination, humbleness, and empathy are few of the many
words that can be used to describe Josh. With these values embedded within the young chess player,
Josh began to show everyone who he really is. One of the many challenges that Josh faced and
overcame was the constant pressure from his father and his chess teacher. After learning that his son
was quite the chess player, the father signs Josh up with a teacher to further enhance his abilities.
While this may seem harmless, it began to take a toll on Josh. The boy no longer wanted to participate
in chess due to new ideas and systems implemented by his teacher. Furthermore, the father s
exaggerated desire to win put even more strain on Josh. However, throughout the whole ordeal, Josh
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where Josh s humbleness contradicted that supposed mindset. Throughout the film, Josh ends
up playing a numerous amount of opponents in chess. One game in particular really emphasized his
value of humbleness the game against his own father. It was evident from the beginning that the father
had no chance to beat his son. However, Josh did not want to hurt his feelings and held back, allowing
his dad to win. When asked for a rematch with no holding back, Josh won without even being present
at the chessboard his opponent was too easy. Another example of humbleness would be the final battle
of the movie: Josh vs Jonathan. In the final scene, Josh ends up finding a way to beat Jonathan and
offers him a draw before carrying out his final attack. These two scenes successfully represented Josh
s value of humbleness. He does not insult his opponents or think lowly of them, he respects each and
every one of them to the fullest

Erikson’S Theory Of Psychosocial Development Was The First
Erikson s theory of psychosocial development was the first theory that demonstrated the development
from womb to tomb. His theory posited three tenets, the first that each era in life had a developmental
crisis, and that at each period there was the opportunity for growth and development. Each
developmental stage poses a developmental crisis that is central to that age, and as stated in Erikson s
second tenet, if there is an interruption in the development of one of the stages, the stages following
will be effected. Though each developmental stage has one fundamental stage that is being worked on,
Erikson s third tenet states that the challenges of all of the other stages are still present; although there
is one crisis that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My resolution of this stage was below average, meaning that I am more reliant on others around me
than the majority of people my age. This is shown when I do things on my own and seek the
reassurance of others to make sure that I did it correctly. After the development of autonomy vs.
shame and doubt, the child moves on to the development of initiative vs. guilt. From ages three to six,
the child is building on their development of independence, and begin to develop the ability to start
things on their own. This is often the age in which kids begin to want to do things for themselves. At
this age, it is important that the kids are encouraged to initiate, plan, devise, and do things for
themselves. If a child does not have an adequate development of initiative, they will be afraid to try
new things, which, similar to all other developmental stages, will effect the individual later in life. I
ranked below average in this category for people my age, showing that I lean more towards guilt than
I do towards initiative. This is shown through my seeking out of others when it comes to trying
something new; rather than wanting to try something new on my own, I usually seek the comfort of
having others with me. Following this stage, the age of five up until about 12 years of age, the child
begins the development of industry vs. inferiority. Industry refers to the competence of a child in
things that a particular culture values; these competencies can

Taking a Closer Look at Behaviorists Essay
Psychology is a science that focuses primarily on the study of the mind, but it can also be the study of
behavior. Behaviorism is a worldview that assumes a learner is essentially passive, responding to
environmental stimuli. The learner starts off as a clean slate and behavior is shaped through positive
reinforcement or negative reinforcement. Both positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement
increase the probability that the antecedent behavior will happen again. The study of only behavior in
Psychology is called Behaviorism. The Psychologists who study the school of Behaviorism go by the
title of Behaviorists or Behavioral Psychologists. Behaviorists have their own theories and principles
that they follow in their study. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pavlov sounded a bell when a group of dogs were eating. Pavlov continued this action for several
meals. After a while, Pavlov was able to sound the bell without giving the dogs food and the dogs
would salivate. This is because Pavlov conditioned their behavior so that the dogs would salivate at
the sound of the bell. Watson did something very similar with his Little Albert experiment. Watson and
Rosalie Rayner, a graduate student, conducted an experiment called Albert B on a nine month old boy
named Albert. In the Albert B experiment, Watson and Rayner showed Albert many white objects
including a white rabbit. Watson and Rayner gave Albert the white rabbit again, but this time they hit a
metal pipe with a hammer. The loud noise made Albert cry. They continued this process until the sight
of the white rabbit, without the noise of the pipe, made Albert cry. This proved that emotions can be
altered by changing an organism s behavior. John Broadus Watson was born in Greenville, South
Carolina on January 9, 1878. Watson grew up in a horrible home. Watson s father cheated on his
mother, and his terrible home life led him to be a trouble child. When Watson was in school, he would
harass the African American children that went there with him. Watson was also arrested twice for
violent behavior. This is very ironic because Watson was a Behaviorist. Watson attended Furman

Besides highlighting the fact that without cheap labor and raw materials from India, the modernization
of Britain during this era would have been highly unlikely, I will show how colonial policy led to the

Second, British India, which included today s India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, was a region so large

experience to another. Although it is impossible to determine how India would have developed had
England never established a dominating presence there, I find the results of British colonialism to
have been a mixed bag for India: the negatives, however, far outweighed the positives.
Liberal and democratic aspects of British colonialism in India played a significant role in leading to a
democratic South Asia following Indian independence in 1947. Yet, the British first through the East
India Company and then through direct government control held almost all of the political and
economic power in India during the Empire s expansion and apogee, guaranteeing the Indian economy

Homeschooling Is Bad
Why Homeschooling is Not Doing Children Justice
Homeschooling is an option for your child if you do not want them in public or private schooling.
Today s society of parents will make that choice for the child, wither the child wants to or not. Many
parents think that public schools are not educating their child enough so they resort to homeschooling.
This would mean devoting your time as a parent by helping support them in learning and to make sure
they will succeed with their education.
The problem today is that many parents will work with their child for about a month and all of a

When i had a great idea to go to the it s a small world ride because it was indoor and it was really cold out here since it was the winter. I started and the dolls were singing,as I continued down the water. Then I saw a rat, but since I was in disney world and their mascot is a mouse, I thought I would say Meeska mooska Mickey Mouse! Since that s what they said say in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then, all of a sudden the floor dropped beneath me and I fell in a room of dolls. I looked around looking for anything but dolls and I saw a door so I opened it. On a table I saw a belt with a tomato on it. I put on the belt and when ... • 3. Summary Of The Essay Not Rants Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films, characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more actors being roped in to playing a specific character. Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you. Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In any case, based on the title, is about the changing role of celebrity that the uptick of superhero film franchises have brought about. Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of the 50s. Marvel with the MCU (and, Fox with X Men and DC with their attempts at catchup) are working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television, comics, and those old serials from forever ago. Maybe it s time that the nature of stardom changes, what with the steady rise of nerd culture into the mainstream. After all, the geeks shall inherit the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. My Goals Of The Time Management After taking the time management quiz, I received a total score of seven out of ten. My score of seven reflects good time management skills, however it does state overall it could be improved in minor ways. In regards to the quiz, the first area of improvement would involve to slow down. I do always tend to feel I am in a hurry and rushed to do things. Whether it s in the morning trying to get myself ready for work, getting my son ready for school and out the door, to ensuring I leave work on time to beat traffic and arrive at his aftercare before 6om and have to pay a few. I tend to also feel hurried in the evening as I need to get home, provide dinner for my son before we turn around and back out the door to attend his karate class. A second area of improvement of my time management would be feeling less guilty if I take time for myself and/ or my family instead of completing school work or studying. Although I do purposefully spend time with my family, sometimes I feel that it may end up being too much time, particularly not productive family time. I feel that I may end up spending too much time getting caught up in doing things around the house that I do not put in an adequate amount of time for my school work. This is my first semester back in college after 20 years and I am still in the process of finding a good balance between, work, personal and school life. • 7. Creation In Genesis And Genesis How the world people are living in right now was created in the beginning? Humankind has been asking this question throughout the centuries, and some people throw some answers to this question. People in Israel answer that God created the heaven and earth in the beginning while Babylonians answer that Marduk establishes the natural order and dwelling for gods after win a battle. The reason that these two ethnic groups respond differently is because they have been walked through different history and worldview. Enuma Elish, which is the Babylonian creation epic, and the book of Genesis in the Bible, what Israelites believe, shows little similar sense but totally different idea of creation. From the first part of each writing, book of Genesis and Enuma Elish, the similarity and difference can be found. In the beginning, the world in both Genesis and Enuma Elish does not have shape. There is nothing but just emptiness before creation in Genesis: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (New International Version 1:1 2). Enuma Elish also does not have things to be called but just gods are existed: When on high no name was given to heaven / Nor below was the netherworld called by name, / Primeval Apsu was their progenitor. / And matrix Tiamat was she who bore them all, / They were mingling their waters together, / No canebrake was intertwined nor thicket matted close. / When no gods at all had been brought forth, Nor called by names, non destinies ordained (Enuma Elish Tablet 1 1 8). Furthermore, both God and gods are staying in the water in the beginning of the creation. It is interesting that the water is mentioned in both writings. However, although there are some similarities in both, there is a radical difference inherent between both stories. Genesis is written and fiducially focusing on the one and only God that no other god is mentioned. It simply says God creates the world. In contrast, Enuma Elish mentions two names Apsu and Tiamat and explains that they are the parents of other gods. Two books are divided into two different ideas of monotheism and ... Colonial Americans are influenced by both moral and profit in their economies, when taking into consideration industry, care, frugality, or knowledge. A morality based approach takes into consideration ethics and values, while a profit based approach focuses on making as much money as possible. It was important to be able to learn in order to know what things lead to wealth. For example, agriculture was a vital aspect of the colonial economy. It was important to note that Staple Crops, such as tobacco, wheat, and corn, were the crops that helped provide a foundation in which the colonies were able to grow rapidly. • 11. Dale A Jerk Analysis Dale is a human being, like anyone else. However, he s a bit different from others. He s the kind of person that cuts in line or the kind that vents his tantrum to his partner. We call these people: jerks. So is Dale a jerk? A jerk is an individual that is foolish, naive, egotistical, as well as unjust. Here I ll be explaining the views of Schwitzgebel, Polemarchus, and Thrasymachus of being a jerk. Schwitzgebel defines a jerk as being ignorant of their self serving tendencies. An example of this is parking in two spots in a lot, disregarding other people s need to park as well. A jerk would not know that their selfish actions would affect others, therefore they do not know that they are a jerk themselves. Not only do they lack attention to other s well being, they also tend to view other s in a negative light. As Schwitzgebel said, Jerks see the world through goggles that dim others humanity. Surrounded by fools, creeps, stuck up snobs, smug assholes, and, of course, jerks, Schwitzgebel associates this view as a jerk s view; as most of the world do not see people negatively. Thus, Dale s lashing out on his partner and his glares at his neighbors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Polemarchus speaks of justice in The Republic as someone who helps a friend and does harm to those who are their enemies, including giving everyone their due (p. 711). As a result, maltreatment and being rude is unjust. For that reason, being a jerk is unjust as a jerk qualifies as being a rude, self absorbed individual. In Animal Rights,Human Wrongs. writer Tom Regan discuss shows us how whales and many different animals are murdered on Earth utilizing his knowledge, records he observed and even realistic accounts of how some of these creatures are tormented and slaughtered by people. In his arguement he utilizes clear example of ethos because of his subtle descriptions and facts in light of his encounters. Another supporting detail in his arguement are the terms logos and pathos in which he utilizes these to clarify observer records and facts of what is done to the creatures and he uses meetings of other individuals to give descriptions on how all killings happen. Regan is extremely educated in the way that he comprehends what the laws state and which zones the majority of these killings happen in. Toward the start of his contention he starts by discussing how certain types of creatures are protected by agreement of the member nations of the lnternational Whaling Commission (Regan 555). Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady must survive high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa. Mean Girls addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic manner, making it a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness. Moving from a secluded friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the torture that is high school. She meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the school. Not academically, but socially. She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high school with no sense of how ruthless high school can be. Even though Mean Girls highly exaggerates high school, I think the way they did so was super effective in telling a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the animal world which is the world Cady used to come from when living in Africa, to girl world which is where she lives now. As I see it, animal world is full of savage creatures and harm where all things are resolved with violence whereas in girl world, to survive you must be sneaky and malicious which were all things Cady had to learn to adapt to. I think this comparison was used to show how when we are thrown into a new situation, we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls, Cady ... Consequently, I have learned that there is a new classification of cases (SA) in addition to the previous three (A, B, and C) that requires special attention because it: 1) has an impact on the development of the law, 2) has broad deterrent impact (beyond parties), 3) has a direct impact on a large number of individuals, and 4) demonstrates the agency s role as the primary enforcer of civil rights. It is becoming exceedingly difficult to have truly meaningful relationships with anyone by cause of the cold, systematic, and covetous fashion in which our world is governed. Due to the lack of feeling a common unity, many families become disjointed and dysfunctional. There is, however, a way in which people can once again sense profound interconnectedness. Through distinct and intimate experiences with others, an individual s sense of societal separation is replaced with an intense perception of harmony. A film that perfectly encapsulates this phenomenon is the Academy Award winning comedy, Little Miss Sunshine (Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, 2006). The film tells the story of an idiosyncratic family which travels across the country in order get Olive (Abigail Breslin), an aspiring beauty queen, to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. Cynthia Ozick set the story back in 1940 when Jews were oppressed politically and socially and eventually confined throughout Eastern Europe. Women and children were brought to new places throughout eastern Europe and exposed to many diseases that could kill a whole population. Also the unsanitary conditions of the camps lead to many diseases such as: Typhoid, Dysentery, Pellagra, Marasmus, and lice. Cynthia Ozick shares in the story about the lice exposure in the camp Rosa was in and how Magda was exposed to it.(put quote about lice) .Of course in the camps they didn t get supplies to treat the diseases therefore it would end up painfully killing them. By far the worst horrifying group killing s were the gas chambers. Nazi guard s would pick out different Jews women or children and take them into a dark chamber. They would make the Jews strip down and lock them in a room. At first they would think they were getting a shower, but unfortunately it was toxic gases that would suffocate them to death. Public executions brought fear into many Jews eyes of the thought of being shot or hung. Surviving mothers that lost their children in the Holocaust will always keep that traumatizing moment in their head. In Rosa s case she had to encounter the traumatizing death of her daughter Magda. Rosa walked away for a short minute to retrieve Magda s blanket and when she came back Magda was gone. When she found her she was being held by two guards that threw her against an electrical fence. Rosa could not even go mourn over her baby s dead body without the fear of being shot. Therefore the only thing she could do was shove the shawl in her mouth to keep her from screaming. ... • 22. Analysis Of Tick Tock By Brian Eno Tick Tock is an ambient piece of music that was made as a direct influence of Brian Eno s four part ambient series of albums. 2/1 in particularly from Music for Airports is a reference for the aesthetics of the sound design in the song which has a lot of darkened textures and is almost lullaby esque in nature. A lot of randomness is often found within the ambient genre as a piece is meant to demonstrate an ever evolving state. This is hard to express in a one minute piece however, so a constant tempo was decided upon for the piece. To introduce some kind of randomness into it, the vocal part begins playing on different beats through out the evolution of the music. Minimalist music had a massive influence of Eno s music and I also wanted to take the aesthetics of that genre and try to apply it into my music. As a result of this, only using the three selected sounds allowed me to avoid overcrowding the piece which isn t meant to be imposing in nature i.e. background music. The sound is derived from a vocal part saying tick tock and heavily laden with a clear long hall reverb to give a huge depth to the voice. A slight delay on the voice is introduced halfway through the piece to represent the ever evolving state in ambient music. The piano sound is a grand piano mixed with a long hall reverb with a soft attack and medium long release to produce a dream like characteristic as well as provide a deeper spacial texture to the soundscape. The third sound was a string sound that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From ages three to six, the child is building on their development of independence, and begin to develop the ability to start things on their own. This is often the age in which kids begin to want to do things for themselves. At this age, it is important that the kids are encouraged to initiate, plan, devise, and do things for themselves.
