took hundreds of lives when the victims was left disoriented, exhausted, and collapsed in a fever.
The Ebola virus is well known that causes hemorrhagic fever in humans, which is distinguished by
massive bleeding in internal and external and destruction of internal tissues and organs. People

a helical ribosome and has four structural proteins in the virion. Ebola from different countries has
diverse biological characteristics. The nucleocapsid protein in virus particles derives from the center
of the spiral winding structure in genomic RNA. The viral protein score shell protein contains the
virus glycoprotein depth from the surface of virus particles, its 10nm long. The other 10nm set out

Dbq Bound Man
Tollund Man is a 2400 year old naturally mummified body that was discovered in 1950 in a
danish bog. Tollund Man was most likely a low class slave from the Iron Age, who was killed as
a result of being hung by a rope noose, because he believed in another god than his community,
which suggested he was rebelling against his own community. According to Source A, the Danish
police report, Tollund Man wore an iron neck ring, which was typically what slaves wore during the
Iron Age. Furthermore, Tollund Man was found with no clothes on, which indicates that he might
have been immensely poor. We could infer that the Tollund Man, therefore, was most likely a slave
due to the fact that he was found with no clothes on and with an iron neck drawn tight

Teacher Student Relationship
Considering that most students spend five to seven hours a day with their teacher for almost ten
months, it is safe to say that school is a big part of a student s day to day life (Urooj). Since students
spend most of their time in schools, it is import for them to have a positive relationship with their
teachers. A positive teacher student relationship is a relationship that has emotional support toward
the students, and has a positive effect on the student s outcomes ( Teacher Student Relationship ).
Teachers are the ones that spend the most time with students so it is very important that they
influence their students in a positive way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A social capital in a classroom setting is defined as having a caring teacher student relationship
where the students feel that they are both cared for and expected to succeed. Social capitals can
work in many different ways, it can reduce dropout rates by nearly half, help encourage the idea of
going to college and furthering their education, and provide support for their academic endeavors
(Gallagher). The simple task of just getting to know the students can have such a huge positive
impact on the student s social development. If a teacher really wants to create a positive
relationship with their students so they can further help their academic development, it would be
wise for them to communicate with their students. A key part of communication is actively
listening to what the other is saying. Actively listening, in regards to teachers and students, means
that the teacher should not just listen to what the students are saying but listen for the meaning
behind it. This will develop a trust between the teacher and the student and would help grow a
positive relationship (Zakrzewski). When a teacher actively listens to their students, they will
become aware of any difficulties that they are having. Since no student is perfect and knows
everything, understanding a child s predicaments will lead the teacher to have more patience with
each individual in their respected area of conflict. Thus making the student feel secure and less

Logic:I wrote the song from the perspective of someone who is calling the national suicide

Cutting to the beat is a way of editing a video so that each clip changes at the same time as the

Analysis Of The Phantom Of The Opera
This movie is one I ve came back to often, the acting, music, scenery, and the story itself is what
brought me back. I liked how every actor in this film not only fit their role, but also made it
believable. If they were to recast the actors today, I don t think they could find better actors to fit
the roles. Some of the roles in this are Viscount de Chagny Raoul played by Patrick Wilson,
Christine DaaГ© played by Emmy Rossum, The Phantom of the Opera Opera Ghost played by
Gerard Butler, these are just the main characters. The role of the Opera Ghost is played by
Gerard Butler, his acting was good which wasn t surprising I have seen some of his other roles
and they were all well done also. What surprised me the most how well he could sing. There any
many characters that are seen throughout the film, some supporting roles include Madame Giry
played by Miranda Richardson, Meg Giry played by Jennifer Ellison, Carlotta Giudicelli played
by Minnie Driver, Gilles AndrГ© played by Simon Callow, Monsieur LefГЁvre played by James
Fleet, and Monsieur Reyer played by Murray Melvin. There are of course extras. This movie is a
musical that is mainly drama based, so not only does it help keep the movie interesting, the
music is good enough you could listen to it on its own. The movie is set in an Paris Opera House
named the Opera Populaire in 1870. The Opera Populaire is very beautiful and huge. Christine gets

Oryx And Crake
Oryx and Crake is a novel that follows the narration of a character named Jimmy, or Snowman.
Although the novel caters specifically to this character, I do not believe he is the most important
person. Instead, I feel the most noteworthy character, the one who truly sets things in to motion, is
Crake. Throughout the novel, we are given multiple hints as to why Crake is a the most
predominant figure. The first, and most obvious clue, is the title of the book. Before we are
introduced to him, we learn his name, indicating that he is an important figure. Another clue is that
without Crake, Jimmy would have never become fixated on Oryx, who is discovered during one of
their internetescapades (Atwood 91). Referring back to my first point, she... Show more content on

Without his involvement in the novel, the creation of the Crakers would not have been possible
(Atwood 292). His combination of developing into a formidable geneticist and unique philosophies
is the reason the Paradice project could be executed. After all, the Crakers are the sole purpose of
Jimmy s continued existence in a post apocalyptic environment (Atwood 329). Which is something
else Crake set in to motion when he slit Oryx s throat, causing Jimmy to feel an unbreakable tie to
the Crakers (Atwood 329). Furthermore, without Crake, the near extinction of the human race
would not have occurred in the form of birth control (Atwood 325). In addition to the Crakers, he is
also responsible for the BlyssPluss which was a hot bio form distributed to the public, causing the
rupture of internal organs and bleeding from most orifices (Atwood 325). Without this invention,
humanity would have continued to deplete their resources and perhaps eventually withered, but this
snuffed out any corrections that could have been made by executing generations of people.
In conclusion, I believe Crake is, plot wise, the most crucial character throughout the Oryx and
Crake novel. Without his involvement, we would not have been introduced to Oryx, have half a
title, produced the Crakers, or unleashed a horrific disease amongst the people (Atwood 324).
Jimmy played a significant role by tending to the Crakers after the Chaos; however, without Crake
there would not have been a catastrophic event, creating a new world (Atwood

The Theme Of Social Class And Order
The Underlying Theme of Social Class and Order
In literature, themes are carefully interwoven with other aspects of the story and are slowly
unraveled as the plot advances to reveal to bigger picture. Authors use themes as a method to
connect with their audience on a personal and relatable level. Each individual interprets the theme
in their own manner depending on the past experiences they have had. Similarly, each author brings
a sense of individuality and authenticity to their works, impacting their subject matter and area of
focus, in this case specifically the theme. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is a science fiction
novel in which the Time Traveller traverses the time dimension to the year 802,701 AD. He then

An author s background is a prime factor in the subject of a book. H.G. Wells humble upbringing
and political beliefs can easily be discerned through the writing. Wells grew up in poverty during
the late 19th century in Kent, Great Britain, causing him to become interested in class conflict. His
socialist views come across in The Time Machine as it is his way to show the consequences of
excessive capitalism, thus the theme of social class and order emerges. Wells uses evolution as a
form to vindicate and reason the extreme schism of classes present in the book. The Time
Traveller, which seems to be an extension of Wells persona, implies the exclusive tendency of
richer people [...] and the widening gulf between them and the rude violence of the poor was a
key factor in the splitting of the human species along class lines, a direct hit on capitalism
(Wells 62). The Elois or the Haves , live aboveground the in comforts of their realm, while the
Morlocks or the Have Nots reside underground, as a result of the [continual adaptation] to their
conditions of their labour (Wells 63). The Time Traveller continue to explore the future realm s
social order, discovering the radical differences between each class. For instance, the Eloi are
focused on beauty and comfort, and are content on living upon the labours of fellowman , while the
Morlocks assumed the role of the worker, relying on instinct and primitive desires (Wells

What Does The Scapegoat Mean
Scapegoats often get blamed for wrongdoings that they never did and therefore become insecure,
but eventually want revenge. In the poem, The Scapegoat by Burges Johnson, the speaker of the
poem, a little child expresses his or her feelings after being blamed for something he or she never
did. The poem starts by mentioning who is at fault for what the speaker is actually blamed for.
The multiple lines including names of people responsible for specific objects reinforces the idea
that the speaker has done absolutely no harm. It is a little bit ironic that the speaker is blaming
others for their actions because the speaker is the one taking the blame for all of the actions
combined. Both stanzas begin and end with the harsh statement of, I m

Based on this policy analysis, the recommended alternative is for the federal government to educate
states on recognizing the importance of and participating in the quality early education programs.
Some states have already started making progress in modeling and developing early learning
systems for children zero to age five. According to the Whitehouse (2011), The President s 2012
budget calls upon Congress to establish a new, competitive Early Learning Challenge Fund,
administered by the Departments of Education(ED) and Health and Human Services (HHS), for

This is to ensure that capable providers who are able to assist them are serving children and

the local programs working with their local school systems to be educated on the skills that children
will need and the gains they will need to achieve by kindergarten in order to achieve a smooth
transition into formal schooling. According to the Whitehouse, We must support families,
communities, and schools working in partnership to deliver services and supports that address the

administration believes that some of the funding that is allocated to these programs should be used

the language barrier and help achieve the language gap. To continue these ongoing resolutions,
congress recently enacted programs that support various neighborhoods. The implementation of

Sickle Cell Research Papers
Sickle cell disease affects millions of people worldwide. It is most common among people whose
ancestors come from Africa; Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Turkey, and Italy; the Arabian
Peninsula; India; and Spanish speaking regions in South America, Central America, and parts of the
Caribbean. Sickle cell disease is the most common inherited blooddisorder in the United States,
affecting 70,000 to 80,000 Americans. The disease is estimated to occur in 1 in 500 African
Americans and 1 in 1,000 to 1,400 Hispanic Americans.
Today about 100,000 people have the disease known as sickle cell anemia. Even some famous
people such as Prodigy the rapper, and Miles Davis the musician currently are living with sickle
cell anemia. Sickle cell anemia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant also known as stem cell transplant.
This is usually saved for patients who are under the age of 16, since the risks get larger with age.
The other treatments include medications such as : antibiotics, pain relieving medicines called
Hydroxyurea . When taken daily, hydroxyurea reduces the frequency of painful crises and might
reduce the need for blood transfusions and hospitalizations. Hydroxyurea seems to work by
stimulating production of fetal hemoglobin, a type of hemoglobin found in newborns that helps
prevent the formation of sickle cells. The bad side of Hydroxyurea is that it increases your risk
of infections, and there is some concern that long term use of this drug might cause problems
later in life for people who take it for many years. More study is needed and you should always ask
your doctor if you are healthy enough to take it.
Blood transfusions are another option. This can increase the number of red blood cells that cause
anemia and makes the body weak and it can fight off other complications from the disease. Gene
therapy is a newer treatment that inserts a normal gene into the bone marrow of a person with
sickle cell anemia hoping for a result of normal hemoglobin but this process is still in an
experimental stage.
Sickle cell anemia affects many people around the World in areas of Africa, the Middle East and
Spanish speaking countries to list a few.

Annihilation Of Native Americans Summary
At the nineteenth century as new immigrants from around the world came to North America to
settle in these new states called the United States as they filled in much of this land in the new
territory the old natives of this area were forced to travel westward and try their best to keep
their land. Most people claimed that the Indians were vanishing as they could not adapt to these
new Europeans lifestyles while others argued that it would not happen. In the end, we see that the
Indians survived through a huge act of extinction toward their society, while the reader looks back
at evidence of Indian life, it is obviously seen that the predictors of the Indians demise were smart
as they used evidence to support their claims while others on the opposing side did have good
views. However the evidence that has been prompted through time proved that the prediction of
annihilation of Native Americans was an obvious choice during this time and was not a

Genre is a system of categorization that groups similar styled works together under one label. The
comedy genre broadly refers to any work that is purposefully humorous and aims to induce laughter,
however throughout history composers have used this genre to critique society and human nature,
allowing them to manipulate the audiences view of themselves and others in a non confrontational
format. The texts School for Scandal by Richard Sheridan, Emma by Jane Austen, Blackadder by
Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, and South Park by Matt Stone and Trey Parker all evaluate their

The Collapse Of The European Union Essay
In the wake of two devastating European wars, there was a vague desire across Europe for more
unity to hopefully prevent yet another terrible conflict from breaking out. However, views over the
proper scope and implementation of any such unity were often divided between the philosophies of
supranationalism and intergovernmentalism. At different times, both ideas played a part in shaping
the future European Union, depending on the moods of European leaders and their constituents.
Throughout the history of postwar Europe, almost every major development toward
supranational unity can be attributed to a handful of powerful people. In fact, the first official
institution of postwar European cooperation, the ECSC, was founded by a few leaders of state.
Robert Schuman, the French foreign minister, adopted Jean Monnet s idea of merging French and
German coal and steel production as a peaceful and economically advantageous tool to prevent
Germany from once again rising up against France and the rest of Europe. Once Schuman had the
idea, all that was needed to officially found the ECSC was the Schuman Declaration and the
consent of Germany s Chancellor Adenauer. Several years later, the next big step in European
integration came from the work of ECSC president Jean Monnet, as well as Paul Henri Spaak, who
both resolved to create stronger economic ties between the countries in the ECSC. The immediate
result was the formation of EURATOM, a cooperation agreement on the subject of

Factors That Led To The Fall Of The Roman Republic
Three ideals and traditions of the Roman Republic, lust for power, greed, and loyalty, each
contributed to the collapse of the Republic. Desire for power played a major role in the collapse
of the Republic because Caesar, the man who arguably began the Republic s downfall, marched
on Rome because he wanted power. The second ideal that led to the Republic s collapse was
greed and the power of money, for example bribing officials in Rome, Crassus shocking alliance
with Caesar, and Pompey s strategy to fight Caesar during the first civil war. The last ideal that
aided the downfall of the Republic was loyalty, specifically citizens loyalty to political leaders or
military generals, loyalty between generals and their veterans, and loyalty between political leaders.

Before the collapse of the Republic, Sulla, a roman patrician, declared himself dictator and used
proscription lists, a list of people posted in the forum who were declared enemies of the state, to
maintain his power. This example shows how lust for power was inherent and already
destructive in the Republic, prior to its collapse. Similar to lust for power, greed could be found
within the Republic before its collapse. For example, patricians, aristocrats, would buy farmland
from plebeians who were serving in the army, and they used the land to increase their wealth.
Lastly, loyalty was viewed as an important aspect of the Republic, specifically loyalty to
politicians, family, and the Republic s beliefs. Most Roman households had some allegiance to a
certain politician and would support that politician despite their own personal beliefs. These three
ideals of the Republic were established and followed long before the collapse of the Republic, and
all three grew into destructive forces that caused the collapse of the

How Slavery In Africa Changed Over Time Essay
Africa was once a thriving and wonderful continent filled with luxurious and wealthy kingdoms,
but that had all changed when a new and appalling type of slavery was introduced. Around the
18th century, Africa became an ideal place for Europeans to trade and buy slaves from. The slave
trade in Africa seemed to be manageable and somewhat peaceful before the Europeans brought in a
new type of slavery. When the Europeans bought slaves from Africans, they kept them as slaves
for life which were very different from how long slaves were kept in Africa. Europeans kept slaves
in extremely poor conditions and treated them as if they were less than human. These actions
caused a great spike in the slave trade all over the world and many... Show more content on

Buckets were placed in these compartments for bathroom uses and other necessary uses (). Slaves
that were placed far from these buckets had difficulty in reaching them because of the number of
other slaves around them (Falconbridge, 1788). This situation would cause slaves to release
themselves where they were and would cause several health issues and diseases to arise
(Falconbridge, 1788). Later on in his account, Falconbridge describes the upkeep of the slaves
on the voyages. The slaves were usually fed twice a day, but on most other ships they were only
fed once (Falconbridge, 1788). Their food would be severed in small buckets and slaves would
be placed in groups of ten for each bucket (Falconbridge, 1788). Upon the Negroes refusing to
take sustenance, I have seen coals of fire, glowing hot, put on a shovel and placed so near their
lips as to scorch and burn them. And this has been accompanied with threats of forcing them to
swallow the coals if they any longer persisted in refusing to eat. (Falconbridge, 1788). Upon the
resistance of the obligations of eating, slaves were extremely punished for disobeying and these
punishments were severely cruel and inhumane. Slaves were forced to obey the slave owners no
matter what the situation was. Slaves were even forced to exercise which would aid in the upkeep
of their health (Falconbridge,

The Discovery Of The Space Station
Someday, somehow, Clarke knew that she would witness the beauty of Earth. She would be
able to feel the sun warm her skin, and have the wind kiss her cheeks as she walked through a
forest. Maybe she would watch a rabbit hop out of a bush, or follow butterflies as she wandered
carelessly around the ground if those creatures were still alive from all the radiation. Her father had
always told her stories about Earth, visualizing it as a heaven for the living. It had been nearly
ninety seven years since the last humans touched the Earth s surface, and only a couple hundred
thousand had survived long enough to make it to the Arkthe space station where the last human
beings have been living in since the nuclear bombings. Had the humans not been at conflict with
one another, then maybe they would still be inhabitants of Earth. But war brought distrust, and
distrust in the other countries led to nuclear warfare. While watching the old documentaries of
the last surviving humans retelling their stories of Earth, Clarke realized how different the Ark
was, and how she would never live to her fullest until she was on the ground. The Ark was
always cold, and empty, and the oxygen she breathed felt, if she could describe it in a word,
fake. Surely, Clarke had never before breathed oxygen from the ground, but its as almost as if her
mind knew the oxygen she breathed wasn t right. As she sat against the stone wall of her small
cell, she stared at her drawings of Earth. With only a

Social Media Narcissism And Self-Esteem
The purpose of the authors was to investigate the relationship between compulsive use of social
media, narcissism, and self esteem along with other factors that were potentially associated with the
addictive use of social media.
Information that supports a problem Facebook and other social media platform has become an
increasingly popular leisure activity over the last 10 years. With over 1 billion users, more and
more studies have been conducted to investigate its negative effects to the society. Recent studies
have suggested that women are more inclined to develop addictive behaviors towards activities

A cross sectional convenient sample of 23, 532 Norwegians, which comprised of 8234 men and
15,298 women with an age range of 16 to 88 years old completed an open web based survey. The
authors used multiple assessment tools, which included Bergen Social media Addiction Scale.
This scale is anchored in general addiction theory, and operationalizes social media addiction
according to six basic addiction symptoms which include salience, conflict, mood modification,
withdrawal, tolerance, and relapse. To assess sub clinical narcissism, the authors used the
Narcissistic Personality Inventory 16, a unidimensional measure. For this assessment, the higher
the score, the more narcissistic the individual is. Furthermore, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale was
used to assess the levels of self esteem in which statements are rated on a 4 point Likert scale
ranging from Strongly agree (0) to Strongly Disagree (3) and measures both positive and negative
feelings about the self.Gathered results demonstrated the positive and significant correlations
between addictive use of social media and narcissism (p .01). Additionally, statistics revealed that
self esteem contributed the most to the excessive use social media (p .001). Other factors also

The Banking Concept Of Education
In the excerpt from The Banking Concept of Education the author, Paulo Freire explains the critical
flaw in the current education system. He continues by offering his believed solution to this
problem. The two concepts Freire discusses in this excerpt are the banking concept of education and
the problem posing method of education. The banking concept is talked about rather negatively,
whereas the problem posing method is talked about highly. Freire believes in the problem posing
method and that students should have free will to a certain extent in the classroom with less
authoritative power from the teacher during discussions.
This flawed concept in education today is the oppressive depositing of information (banking
education) by teachers to students. Banking education (for obvious reasons) attempts, by
mythicizing reality, to conceal certain facts which explain the way people exist in the world...
(p.224) The banking concept is an act that hinders the intellectual growth of students by turning
them into receptors and collectors of information that have no true connection to their lives. The
banking concept is essentially turning humans into objects. Banking education inhibits creativity
and domesticates (although it cannot completely destroy) the intentionality of consciousness by
isolating consciousness from the world, thereby denying people their ontological and historical
vocation of becoming more fully human. (p.224) This type of education

Shirttails Case Study
As everyday actions are shaped by individual preference, traditions are shaped by a community s
preferences over time. Activities that positively contribute to the overall happiness of a group are
often engrained in the lives of its members as reoccurring behaviors. When these activities lose
their appeal or ability to provide pleasure for the group, they are either abandoned or transformed.
Groups who choose to transform their cultural traditions do so in an attempt to rediscover pleasure
lost. Shirttails is a great example of a tradition which has been altered over time in order to fit the
dynamic desires of its founding community.

The Negative Effects Of Juvenile Incarceration
In the past, there have been many concerns surrounding the issue of juvenile incarceration. As per
the history, there have been many cases where the effect of the incarnation of young people has
been seen to have very many negative effects. Research that has been conducted in the past has
identified the fact that incarceration has many negative effects than it was previously thought.
Some of them include the effect it has on the mental health of the inmates as well as the little effect
it has in rehabilitating the inmates (Barnert, Perry, Morris, 2016). All this has led to people being
more encouraged to look for alternatives of helping those involved to reform.
As for the economic reasons, it has over the years been proven that it is very expensive to
maintain a large number of inmates as well as hold them for long. This is a fact that has come
down on both the federal as well as the state governments that are responsible for the maintaining of
the well being of the different correctional facilities. By reducing the number of inmates in these
facilities, the governments can lower the costs incurred in the long term and hence promote the use
of the same funds in reforming the people in other ways.
Alternatives to Incarceration
There are a number of substitutes that can be considered to be alternatives to incarceration in
helping to reform the people involved. The first of this is probation which is a period ordered by
the court that an offender is under the supervision

Drones, that all
INTRODUCTION As a human when we employ power by facts and evidence gathering with all
the tools at our disposal, they can have a significant impact. So then will we use the new
technology of unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, to create power for our stories? First of all we
have to try to define what the word drone encompasses. In the spring 2013 issue of News Media
The Law, Lilly Chapa provided this description: Technically, any aircraft that is controlled remotely
is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), or drone. Most modern drones are controlled by Global
Positioning System based commands programmed through a computer. Drones can cost
anywhere from $300 to $5 million and can be as small as a dinner plate or as large as a Cessna.
They can be equipped with a variety of tools, including cameras, GPS trackers, infrared sensors and
weapons [Chapa 2013]

Industrial Age Vs Renaissance Research Paper
The Industrial Age and the Renaissance are both a time in history that has change throughout the
years of development. When you hear about the Industrial Age you think about the modern world
and what kind of new goods are being produced. The Renaissance was a stepping stone toward the
modern world. Both, the Industrial Age and the Renaissance have extreme differences, but they still
hold some similarities in both time periods. The Industrial Age is a time of change in the economic
and social organizations beginning in 1760. There was mass production, broadcasting began, the
running of electricity became more developed, new medicine to cure certain illnesses, and running
water was made usable. The Renaissance showed their importance through... Show more content on

It changed for the better in the sense of increasing the water and steam driven machinery, which
allowed for the cost of clothing materials to be lowered. Railroads were being made better along
with other consumer goods. The people started new cultural institutions to better reading and
learning. This is when the first novels and stories were first published. The Industrial Revolution
had a lot of materialism with the material production and machines produced by scientists and
industrial technologist. The Victorian Age is the most popular time in the materialism progress.
There were rising standards of living and technological advances being made everyday. The first
telegraph cable connection was made between Europe and North America. Also, sanitation began
to be taking place in homes, offices, and businesses so that it was possible for the next step, the
vaccines, to be made available to kill illnesses and more germs. A difference between the Industrial
Age and the Renaissance is the architecture. Where the Renaissance used stone and brick and the
Industrial Age started using iron and glass panels that were pre made ready to be put together.
With this advancement it made putting buildings, homes and offices together much quicker and
easier. The next big monumental piece of art is the Eiffel Tower in Paris made by Gustave Eiffel
from cast and iron. The art in the Industrial Age is different in the sense of detail in the oil
canvases. There were much more building, people, color, and action taking place. The Industrial
Age had a lot more building advancements then the Renaissance

The Measurement of Pendulum s Harmonic Motion Lab #2
Abstract
The specific purpose of this experiment was to verify three physical concepts based on Newton s
Laws. These concepts are vector addition, force as a vector, and the law of equilibrium. The
densities of two different objects were compared by measuring their masses and volumes. In this
experiment, two different sets of methods of volume measurement were compared to the density
computation of an object bearing a standard shape. In addition, the density computation was
used to determine the buoyant force acting on different objects. At this point, it was observed
that an object maintains a constant velocity if all the external forces cancel out one another (no
net force results from the unbalanced forces acting on an object). In this case, a force table was
used to study Newton s First Law of Motion. These forces were represented as F1, F2, and F3.
Analysis of results obtained from the experiment proved that the value of F3 determined through
calculations was less than the measured value of F3. In Trial#1, for example, the calculated
value of F3 was 211.59g @ 2430 while the measured value of F3 was 215g @2430, translating to
a % difference of 0.5g @20. Although the primary objectives of the lab were achieved, errors (in
particular, static friction) occurred during the experiment. These errors were observed

Poor Ethnic Groups
Poor ethnic groups in the United StatesAccording to the Census Bureau one in seven people in
the United States live in poverty. Today, more than 45 million people in the United States are
living in poverty. Those 45 million people in poverty are constantly struggling with getting
nutritious food, safe shelter, and proper clothing for the weather. Throughout the United States,
there is a dilemma that certain ethnic groups are in deeper poverty than another. Here we will
look into why one ethnic group is better off than the next. The United States uses the Census
Bureau to determine which ethnic groups are in poverty. Using an economic poverty measure
calculating the minimum amount of income needed to meet the basic needs. This varies my
family size and compensation also. The four groups we will look into are African American,
Hispanic, white, and Asian doing this will determine why each group is in more poverty than
another. According to the Census Bureau, African Americans make up roughly 22% of the
poverty rate, annually making an average of $39,490 a year. This is the lowest poverty rate out of
all of the ethnic groups. Why is it that African Americans have a higher poverty rate than others?
One problem holding African American people back from having a better lifestyle are the three
norms that most successful people have. The three norms are to have a high school degree, work

Otto Von Bismarck s Triple Alliance During World War I
The countries of Europe formed various alliances with each other in the years leading up to World
War I, eventually splitting the continent in two. Otto von Bismarck was instrumental in forming
many of these alliances in an attempt to keep the European Concert together. He was eventually
dismissed by Kaiser Wilhelm II, but would still accurately predict the beginning of the first
international war.
Initially, the Triple Alliance was a defensive pact between Germany, Austria Hungary, and Italy. It
guaranteed mutual support in event of an attack by another power. The Triple Entente, between
Britain, Russia, France, was a treaty in direct response to the Triple Alliance. It was a series of
mutual defense pacts that was to stay in place for the duration of the Triple Alliance. If a member
of the Triple Alliance attacked a member of the Triple Entente, the members of the Triple Entente
could attack the aggressor and the allies of the aggressor once they attacked. Going back a bit, Otto
von Bismarck s greatest diplomatic achievement, the Reinsurance Treaty, was a treaty between

Intellectual Progress Of Mankind By Martin Luther King Jr.
Intellectual Progress of Mankind
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable...every step toward the goal of justice requires
sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated
individuals Martin Luther King, Jr. Intellectual progress of mankind is the progression towards
discovering the questions about curiosity on why something is what it is or what makes
something work the way that it does. The discovery of which we make on defining, proving, and
supporting scientific and theoretical issues is a reflection of how far we have come on particular
issues of study. this can be defined as changes that take place as a result of growth in the thinking of
mankind resulting from one s capability to think, experience, reasoning judgement and ability to
conceptualize. This helps humankind to progress in different aspects of life and make
advancements on daily basis in relation to his life. Three main subject leads toward Intellectual
Progress of mankind, philosophies, ideologies, and theories which this paper examines as related
themes that often intersect in educational ideas (Gutek, 2004). Philosophy falls somewhere between
the arts and sciences. On the one hand, it offers idiosyncratic worldviews that may be too disparate
to compare. It is not surprising, then, that the question Is philosophy progressive? is hardly ever
raised. From one viewpoint, it offers quirky perspectives that might be excessively unique, making

A hospital in Orlando, FL has decided to switch from a paper based system to an electronic

hospital to want to change from paper records to an EHR; the usual primary reason is to improve
medical documentation. First and foremost it is important to establish what the hospital s primary
reason is to establish an EHR. Knowing this will make the transition smoother and faster because of
comprehensive EHR software and hardware installation that is comprised of a number of different
components (Medflow).
The steps involved in the migration of patient health records from a paper based system to an
electronic health record in a hospital setting are as follows:
1.It is important to have an estimated project budget for the transition, having this will prevent
delays or cost overruns later.
2.The hospital might need to hire an outside company or decentralize document imaging at different
locations in the practice. If an outside company is hired records are sent offsite to be scanned and
converted, the hospital needs to

Opposition Death Penalty
The intent of this paper is to share the views of those who oppose capital punishment. I, for one,
am part of the majority that is in support of the death penalty. I am in agreeance of the old saying
of An eye for an eye . The death penalty is one of the most controversial issues in our criminal
justice system. There is an increase in opposition against the death penalty, not only in the United
States. Many Americans feel that capital punishmentis wrong. It is hard for people to fathom the
idea of putting someone else to death. It is not the physical mechanics involved in executions that
are hard to handle. It is the emotions involved in carrying out the process. Many feel that the death
penalty violates the eight Amendment of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Oppositionist feel that if a white or rich person committed the same crime would be sent away with
a lesser punishment or a slap on the wrist. Economic and racial bias is an argument that is made
across the board in our justice system. This is an argument that has caught the eye of many Civil
Rights unions. It has been said that with the use of capital punishment, violent crimes will be
reduced. This is the third argument. However, the opposition does not agree. There is no prove that
the rates of violent crimes have been reduced. The opposition argues that capital punishment does
not act as a deterrent for these crimes. They also argue that it is irreversible. The fourth and final
argument involves the amount of time that a prisoner spends on death row. Prisoners tend to spend
a lot of time on death row prior to executing day because retrials, technicalities, appeals, or other

execution is both costly and cruel. They feel that if a prisoner is going to wait that long then he or
she should be convicted of life imprisonment without the option of being

A Research Study On Cardiac Arrest Management
Cardiac arrest management is an ever evolving system, based on expanding science and
technology that allows for the lay rescuer, or the seasoned paramedic to try and bring back
someone whose heart has stopped. This paper will explore the history and general practices of
Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS as well as basic techniques, and how it has helped to
improve survival rates in sudden arrest victims, as well as if there are better ways to tackle issues
involving the correct or incorrect practices of resuscitation.
Before we begin to talk about how to fix a broken heart we must first learn how one functions. The
heart is the powerhouse of the body, its main function is to move the blood that provides oxygen
and other key nutrients to the individual organs in the body. It is a very muscular organ that is
regulated by electrical currents that help to determine the pattern of the heart rate and keep it at a
normal rate. The main reason a heart stops working is because of an interruption in the electricity
regulating the heart. And this is where ACLS comes in, in restarting the heart and reigniting the
urge to run. And this comes via three main routes, CPR, defibrillation and Cardiac medications.
The one and only thing that is the most proven thing in cardiac arrest management is good CPR or

Essay Legal rationale Authority
SUBJECT NAME:
Public Administration
Question: According to max Weber, legal rational authority is the most rational type of authority.
Do you agree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer.
The aim of essay is to discuss legal rational authority commonly known as bureacracy. It high lights
why legal rational authority is the best way of authority for any professional run organization. The
essay also highlights some of the problems of legal rational authority and the solutions that can
make it more flexible in communication and decision making

This means an official in a bureaucratic organization should be compensated by being paid a
salary. The salary paid to the worker should be according to the work he does. Weber argues that a
good pay enhances official loyalty Some writers such as Herbert Simon and Chester Barnard have
argued to say that bureaucracy is not the ideal way running an organization, stating that it is
inefficient and promotes red tape, and that administrative efficiency would be reduced by using
Weber s structural approach and that efficiency in an organization can be increased by informal
organization and better human relations. (Rumki basu)
As much as the structural approach to running the organization may seem to have too much routine
because of the rules and regulations, and possibly slow when urgent decisions are need to be
made, it is still the best way, because humans on their own without rules to follow cannot be trusted
to be 100% rational when making decisions,

Provide the class with the details of the project (location, acres restored, methods used, species
benefited if available, etc.). Be sure to integrate what you find with what you are learning in your
text and other readings and supplement it with additional research.
ALSO, as September 17th is Constitution Day, I want you to reflect on this and comment on it in
your forums for this week. The preamble of the US Constitution directs the Federal Government to
promote the general welfare .... secure the blessings of liberty . ..and protect ourselves and our
posterity . When thinking about our obligation to protect the environment (e.g., plants, animals,
habitat, ecosystem services), can a case be made that we are constitutionally bound to do so based
on the quotes I gave you? What do you think? If so, how does that play into our responsibility to
conserve and restore the environment? If not, why not?
For this week s forum, after searching for wetlands restoration, I found a local wetlands restoration
project that was completed in November 2011 and encompassed an area of 150 acres. The San
Dieguito Wetland Restoration Project included the coastal area of San Dieguito Lagoon and the
San Dieguito River Park estuarine and riverine wetland systems, respectively which serve an
important role in the local ecology. They provide a stop for birds along the Pacific Flyway, nesting
and foraging areas for endangered species and serve as a fish hatchery.

The One Ring In Tolkein s The Lord Of The Rings
The One Ring is perceived as the machine that has the ability to tempt any individual into using it
due to its great powers: `It is by our own folly that the Enemy will defeat us, cried Boromir. `How
it angers me! Fool! Obstinate fool! Running wilfully to death and ruining our cause. If any mortals
have claim to the Ring, it is the men of NГєmenor, and not Halflings. It is not yours save by
unhappy chance. It might have been mine. It should be mine. Give it to me! (Tolkein). Tolkein
conveys the concept and illustrates the power of fellowship throughout Frodo s journey to Mordor.
Although the Ring entices Frodo when he and his companions encounter the Black Riders, Frodo
withstands the temptation to use the Ring. Tolkein demonstrates how fellowship is... Show more

And you can trust us to keep any secret of yours closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot
trust us to let you face trouble alone, and go off without a word (Tolkein 103). As they
progressed, the journey became more dangerous and ironically, Merry, Pippin, and Sam grew
greater desire to accompany Frodo. At Elrond s Council, this gives Gandalf the impression that
the hobbits should be members of the Company: I think, Elrond, that in this matter it would be
well to trust rather to their friendship than to great wisdom. Even if you chose for us an elf lord,
such as Glorfindel, he could not storm the Dark Tower, nor open the road to the Fire by the power
that is in him (Tolkein). Gandalf believes that fellowship would be greater protection to Frodo

Italo Calvino who was born was born on October of 1923 and died September 19 of 1985 was an
Italian journalist, and writer of short story and novels. His books are a mix of low and high
culture, real science with fantasy, history and contemporary life. In the satirical novel The
Nonexistent Knight the story told is of a Knight named Agiluf, who does not possess a body but
exists inside a suit of armor through his will. As Agiluf goes on a quest to prove that the princess
of the Scottish king s virginity has not been taken to prove his knighthood. There is some silliness
to it but there is meaning to its characters as each one has its own use in its twists and turns In
Calvino s novelhe uses conventions from medieval romantic literature postmodernism and

The use of medieval romantic literature gave him a backbone as to what he can set the story in and
give it its momentum. The immersive time of knights and chivalry gave it the characteristics it
needed. As he took his ideas he made them not subject or bound to the normality s that these
characters should have. It made them unique and dynamic in which how different they were made
them special and important to the story. The connect Calvino has to post modernism makes it crazy.
Somethings are all over the place and makes it enjoyable to be caught up in the foolishness that he
brings to life. Modernism gives the ability to raise questions and critically think of what is going on
throughout the novel and create connections with what Calvino was attempting to portray. All of
the conventions used gave and made The Nonexistent Knight the right novel that was

Community Health Center for the Uninsured and Undocumented...
Although the number of illegal immigrants is substantially growing on a daily basis, the national
health care policies seem to fail in addressing their medical needs. This, however, is becoming a
growing challenge because of the conflicts between medical ethics and immigration laws. Despite
the alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs.
Advocates of their rights for health coverage argue that medical ethics and the United States moral
obligations necessitate expanding coverage to all population residing within the borders of the
country. Conversely, opponents deny their health coverage because their illegal status disqualify
them from all public benefits. This paper goes beyond these opposing assumptions and instead,
proposes a strategic plan to raise and combine resources necessary to establish a health care center
for the uninsured, underinsured, and illegal immigrants in Northern California. The paper covers
the establishment of this center with special focus on strategic funding, funding constraints, related
state and national regulations, health policy, resources allocation, and managerial and leadership.
Funding Like any business idea, the first step to establish a community health center is to figure out
all necessary funds and funding resources for the anticipated expenses. In general, according to

Collateral Beauty Analysis
Collateral Beauty, a story about Howard Inlet (Will Smith), a haunted shell of the person he used
to be. After his only child died of cancer at the age of 6, he became a lament ridden, wasted out
man. He never did talk to anyone, about anything. But when his business starts going down his
associates Claire, Whit, and Simon begin to look for answers. They find these answers in Howard
s letters to the universe, more specifically Time, Love, and Death. One one fateful occasion Whit
meets these three actors (Keira Knightleywho plays Amy, Helen Mirren who plays Brigitte, and
Jacob Latimore who plays Raffi) and begins thinking. He tells his plan to his colleagues and they
go with it. They hire the actors to play Time, Love, and Death. Once the plan is over and the
business is in good hands is when you get to find out more about his daughter and his ex wife.
Music is a key element in any film, but especially in tear jerking films like this one. Theodore
Shapiro did the sound work for this film. The whole soundtrack for this film flows together
perfectly. In the opening scene of the movie Howard walks away from the falling dominos and
the song that plays fits the mood, the action of what Howard is doing, and the lighting. He worked
with non diegetic sound in an ingenious way. But his work with diegetic sound was okay, there
was potential to be better and it s not horrible there s just some space for improvement. However,
everything balances out and the sound in this movie is

The Decline of the Family Farm
Growing up on a small family wheat farm in southwestern Oklahoma, I have experienced the
harsh conditions of farming firsthand. The job that used to employ the largest amount of people
in the United States has lost the support and the respect of the American people. The Jeffersonian
Ideal of a nation of farmers has been tossed aside to be replaced by a nation of white collar
workers. The family farmis under attack and it is not being protected. The family farm can help the
United States economically by creating jobs in a time when many cannot afford the food in the
stores. The family farm can help prevent the degradation of the environment by creating a mutually
beneficial relationship between the people producing the food and nature. The family farm is the
answer to many of the tough questions facing the United States today, but these small farmsare
going bankrupt all too often. The government s policy on farming is the largest factor in what
farms succeed, but simple economics, large corporations, and society as a whole influence the
decline in family farms; small changes in these areas will help break up the huge corporate farms,
keeping the small family farm afloat. Supply and demand are the rulers of price in the capitalist
economy of the United States, and farm goods rely on these factors as much as any other
commodity. The demand for food remains relatively stable although slightly increasing year to year,
but the supply fluctuates greatly depending on

Profit Margin Benefits
How is technology making the market more efficient? By looking at it through the producers
side. For instance, look at Apple Products. The new Iphone 6 goes for about $650. According to
Time Inc. to make an Iphone it costs them around $200. That gives the device a profit margin of
about 69 percent. The 6 plus is one hundred dollars more which gives them a 71 percent margin.
Does such a profit margin seem justified? Yes, business is business, and a company that creates
and sells a product wants to make money. But does it have to be sold for so much money
(androidpit)? No, but people still go out and buy these products because they want to be up to date
on all the products that are fresh out. Although the price of the product make seem like it

What Is Teenage Curfew Persuasive Essay
Many young teenagers enjoy living life on the edge; they often think or see themselves as fully
grown adults, capable of making their own decisions, and having the freedom that comes with it.
But more often than not, teenagers are not fully able to grasp the sense of maturity and
consequence in every day life, much less out in the real world. In order to keep them safe and
away from harm, a curfew is a perfect wall for teens to stay behind. Everyone remembers that, at
least once as a child, they have dreamt of having the freedom, will, and maturity that their parent or
guardian possesses. Even today, children often pretend to be a business man or president; someone
that they hope to be when they get older. True, teenagers are closer to... Show more content on

Teenagers are often seen as reckless and immature, rather than having the calm and collected
composure that an adult is seen with. This immaturity can sometimes be so high, they simply
refuse to take the fall for the decisions they made; some fail to realize that, in real life, everyone
must take the good with the bad, not solely claim the benefits. This fragile flaw can very much
prove fatal, so a curfew can very much save young citizens from themselves. Many television
shows and movies are known to give a young character an episode or scene about him or her, and
it often runs down the same road; the child or teen does something reckless or idiotic, they try
extremely hard to fix it (but it often makes things worse), and when they fail, they must face the
consequences. A well known example is from the hit Cartoon Network show The Amazing
world or Gumball, where the main character Gumball causes trouble with little or no intention.
In one specific episode, Gumball accidentally damages a rented DVD, and when he tries to fix it,
he ends up breaking it. This may seem like a silly show, but there is one big comparison between
his actions and real life: In every episode, such as the DVD episode, he is forced to face the

PICOT QUESTIONS
ON OXYGENATION EBS Process Question
Within a community of residing adults, what is the effectiveness of hands only CPR compared with
the hands used together with breathing CPR when trying to prevent mortality?
PICOT Problem Statement
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in community residing adults using hands only CPR versus
breathing and hand use CPR are both useful when trying to avoid death if the people involved are
fully aware of the precautions and steps to take while undertaking the process.
Patient and Clinical Problems
Patients who are suffering from cardiac arrests and neurologic outcomes have a high chance of
needing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Efficient use of both hands only CPR versus breathing and
hand use CPR may improve their survival chances and boost their neurologic outcomes when they
undergo any form of an attack. The hands only CPR versus breathing and hand use CPR training
programs assist nurses, and the public on the treatment criteria to efficiently handle patients with
cardiac arrests emergencies, resulting in an increase of the cardiac arrests survival rates for many
patients across the world (Lamboy Donohue, 2015).
The hands only CPR versus breathing and hand use CPR involves the nurses or an individual doing
chest compressions, in addition to artificial ventilation that is used to sustain the circulatory flow of
blood and the oxygenation of the lungs during the cardiac arrests. Hands only CCR involves only

According to Source A, the Danish police report, Tollund Man wore an iron neck ring, which was typically what slaves wore during the Iron Age. A social capital in a classroom setting is defined as having a caring teacher student relationship where the students feel that they are both cared for and expected to succeed. Social capitals can work in many different ways, it can reduce dropout rates by nearly half, help encourage the idea of going to college and furthering their education, and provide support for their academic endeavors (Gallagher). The simple task of just getting to know the students can have such a huge positive impact on the student s social development. If a teacher really wants to create a positive relationship with their students so they can further help their academic development, it would be wise for them to communicate with their students. A key part of communication is actively listening to what the other is saying. Actively listening, in regards to teachers and students, means that the teacher should not just listen to what the students are saying but listen for the meaning behind it. This will develop a trust between the teacher and the student and would help grow a positive relationship (Zakrzewski). When a teacher actively listens to their students, they will become aware of any difficulties that they are having. Since no student is perfect and knows everything, understanding a child s predicaments will lead the teacher to have more patience with each individual in their respected area of conflict. • 9. Analysis Of The Phantom Of The Opera This movie is one I ve came back to often, the acting, music, scenery, and the story itself is what brought me back. I liked how every actor in this film not only fit their role, but also made it believable. If they were to recast the actors today, I don t think they could find better actors to fit the roles. Some of the roles in this are Viscount de Chagny Raoul played by Patrick Wilson, Christine DaaГ© played by Emmy Rossum, The Phantom of the Opera Opera Ghost played by Gerard Butler, these are just the main characters. The role of the Opera Ghost is played by Gerard Butler, his acting was good which wasn t surprising I have seen some of his other roles and they were all well done also. What surprised me the most how well he could sing. There any many characters that are seen throughout the film, some supporting roles include Madame Giry played by Miranda Richardson, Meg Giry played by Jennifer Ellison, Carlotta Giudicelli played by Minnie Driver, Gilles AndrГ© played by Simon Callow, Monsieur LefГЁvre played by James Fleet, and Monsieur Reyer played by Murray Melvin. There are of course extras. This movie is a musical that is mainly drama based, so not only does it help keep the movie interesting, the music is good enough you could listen to it on its own. The movie is set in an Paris Opera House named the Opera Populaire in 1870. The Opera Populaire is very beautiful and huge. • 10. Oryx And Crake Oryx and Crake is a novel that follows the narration of a character named Jimmy, or Snowman. Although the novel caters specifically to this character, I do not believe he is the most important person. Instead, I feel the most noteworthy character, the one who truly sets things in to motion, is Crake. Throughout the novel, we are given multiple hints as to why Crake is a the most predominant figure. The first, and most obvious clue, is the title of the book. Before we are introduced to him, we learn his name, indicating that he is an important figure. Another clue is that without Crake, Jimmy would have never become fixated on Oryx, who is discovered during one of their internetescapades (Atwood 91). Referring back to my first point, she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without his involvement in the novel, the creation of the Crakers would not have been possible (Atwood 292). His combination of developing into a formidable geneticist and unique philosophies is the reason the Paradice project could be executed. After all, the Crakers are the sole purpose of Jimmy s continued existence in a post apocalyptic environment (Atwood 329). Which is something else Crake set in to motion when he slit Oryx s throat, causing Jimmy to feel an unbreakable tie to the Crakers (Atwood 329). Furthermore, without Crake, the near extinction of the human race would not have occurred in the form of birth control (Atwood 325). In addition to the Crakers, he is also responsible for the BlyssPluss which was a hot bio form distributed to the public, causing the rupture of internal organs and bleeding from most orifices (Atwood 325). Without this invention, humanity would have continued to deplete their resources and perhaps eventually withered, but this snuffed out any corrections that could have been made by executing generations of people. In conclusion, I believe Crake is, plot wise, the most crucial character throughout the Oryx and Crake novel. Without his involvement, we would not have been introduced to Oryx, have half a title, produced the Crakers, or unleashed a horrific disease amongst the people (Atwood 324). Jimmy played a significant role by tending to the Crakers after the Chaos; however, without Crake there would not have been a catastrophic event, creating a new world (Atwood ... • 11. The Theme Of Social Class And Order The Underlying Theme of Social Class and Order In literature, themes are carefully interwoven with other aspects of the story and are slowly unraveled as the plot advances to reveal to bigger picture. Authors use themes as a method to connect with their audience on a personal and relatable level. Each individual interprets the theme in their own manner depending on the past experiences they have had. Similarly, each author brings a sense of individuality and authenticity to their works, impacting their subject matter and area of focus, in this case specifically the theme. The Time Machine by H.G. An author s background is a prime factor in the subject of a book. H.G. Wells humble upbringing and political beliefs can easily be discerned through the writing. Wells grew up in poverty during the late 19th century in Kent, Great Britain, causing him to become interested in class conflict. His socialist views come across in The Time Machine as it is his way to show the consequences of excessive capitalism, thus the theme of social class and order emerges. Wells uses evolution as a form to vindicate and reason the extreme schism of classes present in the book. The Time Traveller, which seems to be an extension of Wells persona, implies the exclusive tendency of richer people [...] and the widening gulf between them and the rude violence of the poor was a key factor in the splitting of the human species along class lines, a direct hit on capitalism (Wells 62). The Elois or the Haves , live aboveground the in comforts of their realm, while the Morlocks or the Have Nots reside underground, as a result of the [continual adaptation] to their conditions of their labour (Wells 63). The Time Traveller continue to explore the future realm s social order, discovering the radical differences between each class. For instance, the Eloi are focused on beauty and comfort, and are content on living upon the labours of fellowman , while the Morlocks assumed the role of the worker, relying on instinct and primitive desires (Wells ... In the poem, The Scapegoat by Burges Johnson, the speaker of the poem, a little child expresses his or her feelings after being blamed for something he or she never did. The poem starts by mentioning who is at fault for what the speaker is actually blamed for. The multiple lines including names of people responsible for specific objects reinforces the idea that the speaker has done absolutely no harm. It is most common among people whose ancestors come from Africa; Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Turkey, and Italy; the Arabian Peninsula; India; and Spanish speaking regions in South America, Central America, and parts of the Caribbean. Sickle cell disease is the most common inherited blooddisorder in the United States, affecting 70,000 to 80,000 Americans. The disease is estimated to occur in 1 in 500 African Americans and 1 in 1,000 to 1,400 Hispanic Americans. Today about 100,000 people have the disease known as sickle cell anemia. The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant also known as stem cell transplant. This is usually saved for patients who are under the age of 16, since the risks get larger with age. The other treatments include medications such as : antibiotics, pain relieving medicines called Hydroxyurea . When taken daily, hydroxyurea reduces the frequency of painful crises and might reduce the need for blood transfusions and hospitalizations. Hydroxyurea seems to work by stimulating production of fetal hemoglobin, a type of hemoglobin found in newborns that helps prevent the formation of sickle cells. The bad side of Hydroxyurea is that it increases your risk of infections, and there is some concern that long term use of this drug might cause problems later in life for people who take it for many years. More study is needed and you should always ask your doctor if you are healthy enough to take it. Blood transfusions are another option. This can increase the number of red blood cells that cause anemia and makes the body weak and it can fight off other complications from the disease. Gene therapy is a newer treatment that inserts a normal gene into the bone marrow of a person with sickle cell anemia hoping for a result of normal hemoglobin but this process is still in an experimental stage. Annihilation Of Native Americans Summary At the nineteenth century as new immigrants from around the world came to North America to settle in these new states called the United States as they filled in much of this land in the new territory the old natives of this area were forced to travel westward and try their best to keep their land. Most people claimed that the Indians were vanishing as they could not adapt to these new Europeans lifestyles while others argued that it would not happen. In the end, we see that the Indians survived through a huge act of extinction toward their society, while the reader looks back at evidence of Indian life, it is obviously seen that the predictors of the Indians demise were smart as they used evidence to support their claims while others on the opposing side did have good views. The comedy genre broadly refers to any work that is purposefully humorous and aims to induce laughter, however throughout history composers have used this genre to critique society and human nature, allowing them to manipulate the audiences view of themselves and others in a non confrontational format. The texts School for Scandal by Richard Sheridan, Emma by Jane Austen, Blackadder by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, and South Park by Matt Stone and Trey Parker all evaluate their society through the use of satire in order to tell a truth, as a truth told by comic means draws the reader/spectator closer allowing them to ambush the overly confident... • 20. The Collapse Of The European Union Essay In the wake of two devastating European wars, there was a vague desire across Europe for more unity to hopefully prevent yet another terrible conflict from breaking out. However, views over the proper scope and implementation of any such unity were often divided between the philosophies of supranationalism and intergovernmentalism. At different times, both ideas played a part in shaping the future European Union, depending on the moods of European leaders and their constituents. Throughout the history of postwar Europe, almost every major development toward supranational unity can be attributed to a handful of powerful people. In fact, the first official institution of postwar European cooperation, the ECSC, was founded by a few leaders of state. Robert Schuman, the French foreign minister, adopted Jean Monnet s idea of merging French and German coal and steel production as a peaceful and economically advantageous tool to prevent Germany from once again rising up against France and the rest of Europe. Once Schuman had the idea, all that was needed to officially found the ECSC was the Schuman Declaration and the consent of Germany s Chancellor Adenauer. Several years later, the next big step in European integration came from the work of ECSC president Jean Monnet, as well as Paul Henri Spaak, who both resolved to create stronger economic ties between the countries in the ECSC. The immediate result was the formation of EURATOM, a cooperation agreement on the subject of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Desire for power played a major role in the collapse of the Republic because Caesar, the man who arguably began the Republic s downfall, marched on Rome because he wanted power. The second ideal that led to the Republic s collapse was greed and the power of money, for example bribing officials in Rome, Crassus shocking alliance with Caesar, and Pompey s strategy to fight Caesar during the first civil war. Similar to lust for power, greed could be found within the Republic before its collapse. As per the history, there have been many cases where the effect of the incarnation of young people has been seen to have very many negative effects. Research that has been conducted in the past has identified the fact that incarceration has many negative effects than it was previously thought. Some of them include the effect it has on the mental health of the inmates as well as the little effect it has in rehabilitating the inmates (Barnert, Perry, Morris, 2016). All this has led to people being more encouraged to look for alternatives of helping those involved to reform. The Measurement Of Pendulum s Harmonic Motion Lab Essay Name: Kaleen Name of Lab Partners: Matt and Yesh Institution Course Instructor Date of Submission The Measurement of Pendulum s Harmonic Motion Lab #2 Abstract The specific purpose of this experiment was to verify three physical concepts based on Newton s Laws. These concepts are vector addition, force as a vector, and the law of equilibrium. The densities of two different objects were compared by measuring their masses and volumes. In this experiment, two different sets of methods of volume measurement were compared to the density computation of an object bearing a standard shape. In addition, the density computation was used to determine the buoyant force acting on different objects. At this point, it was observed that an object maintains a constant velocity if all the external forces cancel out one another (no net force results from the unbalanced forces acting on an object). In this case, a force table was used to study Newton s First Law of Motion. These forces were represented as F1, F2, and F3. Analysis of results obtained from the experiment proved that the value of F3 determined through calculations was less than the measured value of F3. In Trial#1, for example, the calculated value of F3 was 211.59g @ 2430 while the measured value of F3 was 215g @2430, translating to a % difference of 0.5g @20. Today, more than 45 million people in the United States are living in poverty. Those 45 million people in poverty are constantly struggling with getting nutritious food, safe shelter, and proper clothing for the weather. Throughout the United States, there is a dilemma that certain ethnic groups are in deeper poverty than another. Here we will look into why one ethnic group is better off than the next. The United States uses the Census Bureau to determine which ethnic groups are in poverty. Using an economic poverty measure calculating the minimum amount of income needed to meet the basic needs. This varies my family size and compensation also. The four groups we will look into are African American, Hispanic, white, and Asian doing this will determine why each group is in more poverty than another. According to the Census Bureau, African Americans make up roughly 22% of the poverty rate, annually making an average of $39,490 a year. This is the lowest poverty rate out of all of the ethnic groups. Why is it that African Americans have a higher poverty rate than others? Otto Von Bismarck s Triple Alliance During World War I The countries of Europe formed various alliances with each other in the years leading up to World War I, eventually splitting the continent in two. Otto von Bismarck was instrumental in forming many of these alliances in an attempt to keep the European Concert together. He was eventually dismissed by Kaiser Wilhelm II, but would still accurately predict the beginning of the first international war. Initially, the Triple Alliance was a defensive pact between Germany, Austria Hungary, and Italy. It guaranteed mutual support in event of an attack by another power. The Triple Entente, between Britain, Russia, France, was a treaty in direct response to the Triple Alliance. It was a series of mutual defense pacts that was to stay in place for the duration of the Triple Alliance. If a member of the Triple Alliance attacked a member of the Triple Entente, the members of the Triple Entente could attack the aggressor and the allies of the aggressor once they attacked. • 42. A Brief Note On The Migration Of Patient Health Records Samara Zamora Final Project Steps Involved in Migration of Patient Health Records A hospital in Orlando, FL has decided to switch from a paper based system to an electronic health record system. An electronic health record is a computerized, accessible record that contains multimedia data (scanned images, digital, video, voice, and so on) about the patient; it is basically the patient s paper chart. EHR s are real time records which allow instant availability to those who have authorized access to the EHR (Bowie, 2011). There are many reasons for a hospital to want to change from paper records to an EHR; the usual primary reason is to improve medical documentation. First and foremost it is important to establish what the hospital s primary reason is to establish an EHR. Knowing this will make the transition smoother and faster because of comprehensive EHR software and hardware installation that is comprised of a number of different components (Medflow). The steps involved in the migration of patient health records from a paper based system to an electronic health record in a hospital setting are as follows: 1.It is important to have an estimated project budget for the transition, having this will prevent delays or cost overruns later. 2.The hospital might need to hire an outside company or decentralize document imaging at different locations in the practice. This paper will explore the history and general practices of Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS as well as basic techniques, and how it has helped to improve survival rates in sudden arrest victims, as well as if there are better ways to tackle issues involving the correct or incorrect practices of resuscitation. Before we begin to talk about how to fix a broken heart we must first learn how one functions. The heart is the powerhouse of the body, its main function is to move the blood that provides oxygen and other key nutrients to the individual organs in the body. It is a very muscular organ that is regulated by electrical currents that help to determine the pattern of the heart rate and keep it at a normal rate. The main reason a heart stops working is because of an interruption in the electricity regulating the heart. And this is where ACLS comes in, in restarting the heart and reigniting the urge to run. And this comes via three main routes, CPR, defibrillation and Cardiac medications. Despite the alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs.
