Unrealistic School Dress Codes
Unrealistic Dress Codes
Are school dress codes fair to you? School dress codes have been a controversial topic for a while.
They have been mentioned in many places such as: social media, articles, schools, etc. Although they
may prevent some students from dressing provocative , they also take away the child s right to be
comfortable. Dress codes should be changed for multiple reasons. They are sexist, unconstitutional,
unnecessary extra cost, and they take away each kid s unique style. Dress codes have always been
more trouble than they re worth. I don t think dress codes should be completely taken away, but
modified greatly.
Student comfort is important in order to maximize learning outcomes (Chen). Students should be able
to go to school and learn without being criticized over petty things. Wearing pajamas to school doesn t
affect anyone s learning abilities. In fact, it only has a positive effect. If a child feels comfortable in
their setting, then said child will be attentive and productive. Thus, if a child is comfortable at school,
they would theoretically learn better. As a result of learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Girls shouldn t be punished just because a simple bra strap is showing or for wearing a pair of
leggings to school. These sort of acts are deemed distracting to the boys in class just because a boy
may so happen cast a glance in their direction. Now first and foremost, a boy is in class to learn and he
should be worried about his education NOT what the girl beside him is wearing. Personally, leggings
are comfortable and easy to just throw on when I m running late or just want to be lazy for the day. In
most schools, girls get in trouble for wearing leggings, even if her shirt covers her bottom. I ve never
seen a boy called out for his attire, even though they also break the rules (The Atlantic). If a school s
dress code is going to be in effect, it needs to apply to ALL students, not just

Holes
I Read the book Holes, written by Louis Sachar. The book is about how Stanley Yelnats gets sent to a
camp for troubled teenagers and his experience there. Stanley is a teenage boy, hes was not a trouble
maker, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The book takes place in the early 2000 s. So
Stanley was accused of stealing a pair of cleats. But what really had happened was this boy named
hector stole the shoes and threw them after her got scared and they then fell on Stanley and they cops
found Stanley with the cleats.
So Stanley had the choice of going to jail or going to camp green lake, he chose camp green lake.
Camp green lake is a place where troubled kids go and dig holes every day. So for the first few days
he digs his hole a day, its not that easy. Later on that week Stanley meets this boy named Zero , the
people in the camp called him zero because he wouldn t talk at all to them. Stanley and zero become
good friends over the time. Stanley then receives a letter from his parents and he think zero is reading
it but zero can t read, zero wanted to be taught to read. At first Stanley said no but zero said he would
help him dig part of his hole everyday so he wouldn t be so tired to tutor him. ... Show more content

One day zero ran away from the camp, everyone then thought he was dead after 3 days. Stanley then
gets the nerve to run away to and go look for zero. He end up finding zero and they walked around
stuggling to survive in the dried up lake. They come across a big mountain shaped like a thumb. So
then they climbed the mountain and they got really lucky because on top of that mountain were onions
and water. Zero and Stanley stay there for a few nights. Zero tells Stanley something really important,
which was that zero was the one who stole the shoes and threw them which means zero was hector the
one who got Stanley in that

My Life s Up And Downs And The Decisions
As I look back at my life s up and downs and the decisions I ve made along the way, thing could have
gone for better or worse, hence the motto in the title. I can recall making small decisions on what I
should spend my time on, either play with my childhood friend s after school or review the homework
that I finished in class? Playtime almost won every time. Even though I knew that reviewing some of
my homework could only help me, even with the good grades I was already making, the decision was
made that I wanted to play more than study. At an early age I began to finish my homework
beforehand so I could spend more time out playing with my friends and eventually I formed a comfort
zone that showed consistency and balance between my grades and studying habits; I studied zilch yet
received high grades that included many A s on tests. As time went on the same process continued and
I was still able to remain on track and keep my high grades throughout middle and high school. The
following years really struck me as a surprise when I entered my first college year and first set of
assignments. Considering my standard work load of finishing my homework at school was completely
halted due to the mere fact that class lasted a lot longer but with no time to finish the homework
assignment before leaving class yet even take a look at it. Everything was starting to get restructured
and my norm was thrown out the window after a rough first semester. Throughout my life there s been

Reca Protein Analysis
RecA, derived from Escherichia coli, is a multipurpose protein that plays pivotal roles in the three
essential and correlated biological events of homologous recombination, regulation of expression to
unlinked genes due to DNA damage (also known as the SOS response), and mutagenesis. Within this
gamut of processes in which RecA aids, the protein is specifically needed to drive three biochemical
actions: interchanging homologous DNA, processing effector proteins for the SOS induction, and
communicating between mutagenic proteins factors to drive synthesis past DNA lesions. Homologous
recombination, the process in which double stranded DNA split and recombine between segments by
sequence similarity to create new variations of alleles, is facilitated ... Show more content on

The central domain (residues 34 269), containing eight twisted β sheet strands with coinciding α
helices, holds DNA and ATP binding sites and is structurally similar to ATPase domains in DNA and
RNA helicases. ATP will bind at the phosphate binding loops of this domain, found in many proteins
involved in ATP binding (7). Amino acids lysine and threonine live near this P loop and directly
interact with phosphate groups in ATP. Alongside, two disordered loops named L1 and L2 bind to
ssDNA and the duplex DNA. What is important about L1 and L2 is that because they support one of
the essential functions for RecA in DNA binding, they are highly conserved. Between the α helix G
and L2 boundary lie two glycine residues that give a greater interaction between the positively
charged amine groups of DNA helix and the negatively charged sugar phosphate backbone in DNA

The Religion Of Islam And Buddhism
Islam and Buddhism are two of the biggest religion in the world. Around 1.5 billion of population is
occupied by Islam and nearly half billion of population is occupied by Buddhism (

culture and tradition. Knowing that the use of alcohol is common in most parts of the world among
different communities and tradition, it would be a great interest of knowledge to understand the facts

(Surah 4:43). Prophet (the messenger of Allah) believes that intoxicants are highly displeasing to God,
so he ordered people to destroy all kinds of intoxicating drinks. Prophet prohibits people from eating
near the table containing any intoxicant drinks, forbids the use of vessel in which intoxicating drink
(Khamr) has been made or served. He believes that God has cursed Khamr and the people who drinks
it, serves it, carries it and the people to whom it has been carried. (Ahmad b. Hanbal, Musnad, vol. 2,
p. 97; vol. 1, p. 316; Abu Da ud, Ashribah , 2 Ed.) Moreover, Quran mentions O you who have faith!
Indeed wine, gambling, idols and the divining arrows are abominations of Satan s doing, so avoid
them, so that you may be felicitous. (Quran 5:90). Quran believes that intoxicants are the tools used by
Satan (an evil) to distract humankind from the worship of God. Satan excites enmity and hatred
between people, hinder them from remembering and praying God. Alcohol leads to sinful behavior
and unsafe sexual behavior which is strictly against the law of Allah so to have the Mercy of Allah
Muslims (people of Islamic religion) strictly stop consuming alcohol and other intoxicants. From all
these evidences and verses written in Quran regarding intoxicant drinks, we can infer that
consumption of alcohol is never accepted by Islamic religion. Like Islam, use of

Structural Plasticity In Hippocampus
Sexual experience promotes adult neurogenesis in the hippocampus despite an initial elevation in
stress hormones
Introduction: Structural plasticity in the hippocampus is sensitive to a wide range of negative
experiences, many of which appear to have substantial effects throughout the lifespan. Stressors and
aversive experiences activate the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis and ultimately increase
glucocorticoid levels which adversely influences numerous aspects of hippocampal structure,
including suppression of cell proliferation, alteration in dendritic architecture and diminished synaptic
plasticity. However, there are other experiences such as physical exercises and running which,
although increase the levels of glucocorticoid, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The findings suggest that chronic sexual behaviors promote neuronal growth. It soundes that the
neuromodulators such as opiates, dopamine or oxytocin (manipulated by sexual experience) are
responsible for this increased neurogenesis. The results also domenstrate that, although, chronic sexual
experience, because of habituated condition, did not elevate the levels of corticostrone (except in the 3
first days), still, it had several positive effects; it enhanced not only profilication in the hippocampus
and olfactory bulb, but also dendritic density and complexity of spine anddentate gyrus granule
neurons. Moreover, after sexual experience, reduction in anxiety on the novelty suppressed feeding

Development
Preview
Examining the shape of children s development allows us to understand it better. Every childhood is
distinct, and is the first chapter in a new biography. This chapter is about children s physical and
cognitive development. These are some of the questions we will explore:
Do children develop in distinct stages, or is their development smoother and more continuous?
How do children develop physically, and how does this affect their behaviour and learning?
What is the best way to characterize students cognitive development? How might knowledge of
students cognitive development influence the way you teach?
How does language develop? What is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aristotle
Greek Philosopher, 4th Century B.C.
EXPLORING HOW CHILDREN DEVELOP
Twentieth century philosopher George Santayana once reflected, Children are on a different plane.
They belong to a generation and way of feeling properly their own. Let s explore what that plane is
like.
Why Studying Children s Development Is Important
Why study children s development? As a teacher, you will be responsible for a new wave of children
each year in your classroom. The more you learn about children s development, the more you can
understand at what level it is appropriate to teach them.
Childhood has become such a distinct phase of the human life span that it is hard to imagine that it
was not always thought of in that way. However, in medieval times, laws generally did not distinguish
between child and adult offences and children were often treated like miniature adults.
Today we view children quite differently than was the case in medieval times. We conceive of
childhood as a highly eventful and unique time of life that lays an important foundation for the adult
years and is highly differentiated from them. We identify distinct periods within childhood in which
children master special skills and confront new life tasks. We value childhood as a special time of
growth and change, and we invest great resources in caring for and educating our children. We protect
them from the excesses of adult work through

Examples Of Individualistic Love In The Bear Came Over The...
Romantic love is often in conflict with collective values, social or family responsibilities, and ethics.
When they are in conflict, individualistic love may give way to ethical concerns and morality. Argue
for or against this statement, using what you have learned from the course to support your point of
view. Either Wong Kar wai s film In the Mood for Love or Alice Munro s The Bear Came over the
Mountain must be included in your discussions.
Nowadays, people tend to care less about morality when they are involved in romantic love. Ethics
values and moral standard changes over time, it may not be necessary for people to blindly follow to
existing moral standard of the society. Instead, people should follow their heart that is what they want
indeed. More importantly, Although Individualism is defined by Hui and Triandis in 1986 as a sense
of independence and lack of concern for others , according to an article Cultural perspectives on
romantic love . However, individualistic love is not necessarily leads to selfish behaviors. Besides,
people may be altruistic and make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

forget her husband, Grant. After that, Aubrey s wife bring Aubrey home from the nursing house and

Aubrey, Grant is still willing to sacrifice their marriage and convince Aubrey s wife to move Aubrey
to the nursing home permanently. Even it may be immoral, Grant still make his scarification for Fiona

The Causes And Effects Of Stress In College Students
Over the last few years, stress levels have climbed 30 percent amongst all college aged students
(Feldt, 2008). Stress is defined as A state of psychological and psychological arousal that results when
outside demands surpass a person s abilities (Zajacova, Lynch, Espenshade, 2005). The increased
pattern of stress is due to more college students determining their success based upon materialistic
measures and thinking futuristically (Zajacova et al., 2005). Unfortunately, a rise in stress can have
many adverse health outcomes for most people. Stress suppresses the immune system, making it more
difficult for your body to fight off viruses that lead to a variety of illnesses (Straub, 2014). That being
said, My Real Age Test showed my inability to manage my stress was a large concern and will be the
focus of my intervention (Sharecare, 2015).
Identifying with having a Type A personality has lead me to be driven but constantly stressed to
achieve high standards in school, and other areas of my life. Unfortunately, not without cost, my stress
has taken a major toll on my immune system. Over the last three years of college, I have visited the
health center 22 times. My stress has affected my immune system s ability to fight off a variety of
viruses from the common cold to pneumonia. Nonetheless, I want to make a positive change by
implementing mindfulness mediation into my daily routine.
Mindfulness meditation involves focusing on awareness of breathing and encouraging

progression in the symptoms in addition to function. [3] Also, Duloxetine came back to surface in
November 2007, when FDA approved CYMBALTA for the maintenance of major depressive disorder.
A randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trial showed that recurrence of depression in
duloxetine treated patients was significantly longer than Placebo treated patients. [4] Including
fibromyalgia, a systemic review compared between 4 randomized clinical trials testing the efficacy of
duloxetine in fibromyalgia. It concluded that duloxetine effectively alleviated the pain, improved the
sleep and promoted the quality of life in fibromyalgia patients. Hence, FDA approved CYMBALTA,
in June 2008, for the treatment of fibromyalgia. [5] Moreover, FDA approved CYMBALTA, in
November 2010, for the treatment of chronic pain. (NDA 22516) Clinical trials showed significantly
greater reduction of pain in chronic low back pain as well as Knee osteoarthritis.

Broadcasting the Poem Have you ever felt like you were born to do something? Since I was born I felt

to accomplish for me. As I very rarely analyze anything I read, but you should try everything once. As
my eyes read this poem and my mind processes it, I ponder a question. What the heck is Nowlan

The Importance Of Education For ELL Students
English learners are currently the fastest developing student population in schools today. This makes it
extremely important to provide these students with the programs and services they deserve. Providing
a strong education for ELL students is what I personally believe to be an asset in America s future.
Today there are many challenges I believe teachers and students face when it comes to instruction and
assessments. For teachers, I believe they are lacking in having efficient data, practices, and resources.
These three categories play an essential role in educating, evaluating, and caring for ELL students.
Communication is a huge factor when it comes to instruction in the classroom. In the past research has
shown poor communication between teachers, students and families. Schools often lack in providing
differentiated methods and tools to teach ELL students. Schools in the past have failed to offer the
correct assessments that were needed in order to diagnose each student s needs and measure their
individualized learning standards. Educators can easily become frustrated because there is such a wide
range of English learners. This means academic levels are different and the educators have not
received the proper training or instructions on how to correctly educate ELL students. I believe
students face the challenges of assessment and accommodations in different ways than their educators.
In the past testing accommodations for schools were often found to be unpredictable

Descriptive Essay About Sea Animals
It was dark outside. Clouds loomed over the skies as I walked into the enormous colorful building.
Blazing rays of LED lights shone through the entrance s translucent windows. Brightness and gleams
engulfed my vision like a wildfire. My eyes blink, trying to focus where I was walking. As I paced
myself through the crowded corridors of the large hallway trying to find my group of friends, I could
see murals of sea animals everywhere and signs directing where each exhibit was. Animated and
overjoyed, I pranced to the first exhibit where the baby sand sharks were. They were extraordinary,
swimming around their tank but sadly not able to leave their confined space. Their tank only allowed
them to swim continuously in circles. Although animals in captivity tend to live longer than animals in
the wild, it is depressing to mull over how they were stripped of their freedom. There was nowhere to
escape when housed in such small enclosures.
While exploring the intriguing domain, I stared wide eyed in the dim rooms, my face was illuminated
by the glowing tanks while fish and other marine life gawked at me. It was as if they wanted me to
join them or aid them to escape their aquatic prison. It was depressing to be so close to them, to be
only separated by glass, but unable to save them. Many animals could have been violently captured
from their homes with no hope of ever being reunited with their true families. The stress of hearing to
kids crying, people clapping, loud music,

The Best Mental Approaches A Child Should Take
the best mental approaches a child should take. I will then progress exploring one calculation in extra
detail, looking at ways to teach the problem, manipulatives I would use to support the problem and
how they link to the year two national curriculum.
The addition is the first operation children learn from a young age and mastering it, is the first step
toward the long lasting appreciation of maths. Children from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) do
not need to memorise complex additions in order to become confident with basic addition. instead,
teachers support children to practice counting; counting on, doubling, learning place value visually
rather than mentally and encourage them to do it in different ways. They also use ... Show more

However, with subtraction calculations, this is not possible. Hence they are expected to use inverse
relationship between addition and subtraction to check calculations and solve missing number
problems. (NC, 2013).
One of the approaches, which is highly recommended for children to practise, is to do addition
calculations mentally (working out calculations in their head) using various strategies, which is the
focus of this essay. Tony Cotton (2013, p.109) states that developing mental approaches is more
efficient to work out solutions to problems and helps children to become fluent in mental calculation.
However, doing mental calculations, such as addition, can be challenging and confusing for some
children. Therefore, introducing appropriate strategies (for example counting on, partitioning, bridging
through 10) and using them to draw images or mark making will encourage children to see
calculations in their heads and will allow them to use the strategy which is the most suited for them
(Cotton, 2013, p. 110).
Ian Thomson also suggests (I part 1 addition) that visual representation plays an important role in
developing mental addition. for example, number lines help children to recognise place value and with
prior knowledge of ordinal sense of numbers, it helps them to move from counting in ones to counting
in larger steps, such as 2, 5, 10, 100 and so

Symphony Orchestra Concert Essay
A bad they in Paris in still better than a good day anywhere else. Popular quote. It was the first time
that I would assist to a Symphony Orchestra concert and I was excited for this new experience.
Pictures at a French Exhibition sounded like an artistic exposition of French pictures, instead was a
repertoire of various pieces interpreted by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The event took place at
Chrysler Hall in Norfolk city in a perfect Sunday afternoon. When my husband and I arrived were
guided to our seats, just in time to breath and enjoy the magic of music.
Joann Faletta was the conductor and I was amazed to see a woman as a conductor. Robert Shoup was
the chorus master and Alon Goldstein in the piano. Alon Goldstein opened the concert with some short
histories about French musical pieces and his vision about what to expect of the concert. Prelude a
Papres midi d un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) composed by Claude Debussy was the
opened piece, suddenly all the room was quiet.
The conductor started to move the baton in soft movements and all the instruments were synchronized
to play the most beautiful melody that transported me to the old French pictures that I have in my
head. Set in sonata allegro form, the first performance was soft and ... Show more content on

To understand how U.S. citizens that legally declare more than one citizenship, and thus participate in
multiple cultural identities, first, it is important to analyze power and culture, then how the physical
body of these individuals move through the spaces that enable their dual citizenship. Power exists in
many forms, from the way in which society is structured through basic laws of existence, to the power
that governs social behavior and the ways in which we understand the world in its entirety. Systemic
power structures even the ways in which immigrants who hold green cards, or refugee status become
citizens, and is deeply embedded in a flawed United States immigration system. The way in which this
legal power is portrayed in citizenship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This disturbed the lives of over 800,000 individuals in the fall of 2017. The Trump administration
publicly announces an executive order that would strip legal security from Dreamers, or young
immigrant children/teenagers who were brought to the U.S. as children, which would end the Deferred
Act for Childhood Arrivals, (DACA) program. Hundreds of thousands of individuals were publicly
creating shared narratives to highlight their American identity and an identify that included being in
the country where their parents brought them to, while others acknowledging their country of birth.
This created a very visible distinction between what it meant to be a citizen for these individuals who
have lived in the United States for most of their lives, and what it meant to also remember their place
of birth. Morrisey (2013) writes, DREAM activists adopted disidentification as a tactic to develop and
deliver their intentions for national belonging without radically subverting current citizenship
structures or entirely assimilating to them. In doing so, DREAMers altered the conditions of national
inclusion by engaging in a practice of disidentification that demonstrated the possibility for creating
coalitional subjectivity, and how it might be used to facilitate social change (p. 145).

Developing a learning tool to encourage education in a stem subject
Introduction
The aim for this project as has been mentioned is to develop a learning tool to encourage education in
a stem subject, I narrowed this down to developing a game that would help a student learn maths
specifically. Since then I have narrowed this further and have specified that this would be for around
the academic year 7 so around the age of 11 but would still be appropriate for 10 or 12 year olds. To
achieve this aim the objectives will be for one to train in game development as well doing research to
help establish the game mechanics or gamification elements wanted in the game.

Piaget Developmental Stages
Piaget believed that learning was an individual and physical process. He claims that development
occurs in stages. Piaget classified a stage as a period during which children s behaviours and thoughts
reflected a certain type of underlying mental structure (Fialho, 2016). He believed that each stage was
interconnected, in that each of the stages derives from its predecessor. The stages must be performed
in the order in which Piaget specified. Piaget also claimed that the stages were universal across all
cultures (Tourmen, 2016). The first stage, the Sensorimotor stage occurs from birth to two years old.
During this time, children gain knowledge regarding their sensory and motor abilities. The second
stage is called the preoperational stage, which occurs from the ages of two, to seven. Once children
reach this stage, they can use language, symbolic thought and mental imagery (Wellman, 2011). The
Concrete operational stage is the third stage of development and occurs around seven to eleven years
old. Piaget claimed that children are now able to obtain certain logical structures which will allow
them to perform mental operations (Brown Modgil, 2006). The final stage is called the Formal
operational stage, which occurs at the age of eleven to fifteen years old. Once ... Show more content

Moral development refers to the process by which children learn to distinguish right from wrong

maintain information over time (Matlin, 2005). As with all theories, Piaget s have come under fire

Comparison Of Edgar Allan Poe And Jacob s Story
Have you ever did something, then felt horrible later on?like guilty? Guilt is a horrible feeling, Even
more so if someone s life was ended by something you did. Edgar Allan Poe and W. W. Jacob s story s
both inform us how powerful guilt can be, in both, there s story s someone dies and there is an
extreme amount of guilt. In the monkeys paw, there s a home that house s three people, the mother, the
father, the son and the sergeant(the friend). One of the fathers old friend s comes to visit and tell
stories of his journey. He talks about the pyramids, interesting people, different states and many other
things over some drinks. The sergeant started telling a story about something called the monkey s paw,
which is what really peaked the father s interest. The sergeant said it would grant you three wishes, but
at a price. After the he finished his story the father asked to have it as a memento. The father s friend
knew there was no way he would drop it so the sergeant gave him the paw, but before letting go he
told him there were consequences if he used it. It was getting late and the sergeant had to leave. After
he left the son went to bed so he would be ready for work in the morning, but the father and mother
stayed up talking about the paw. A hour pasted and the father wished for money not thinking about
what bad may happen. I wish for two hundred pounds, said the old man distinctly. (part 1, W.W.
Jacobs). The next morning the son went to work at the saw mill like an ordinary day. the parents
laying in there yard reading a knitting were talking about how it didn t work and it was a tall tale when
out of the blue, the father and mother received a visit from a stranger that works with there son at the
mill. The stranger told the parents there was an accident at the mill. Both the father and mother
dropped there things and asked what happened and if there son was okay. He hesitated, but finally got
the courage to say the news. Your son had a accident working and passed away. said the stranger. The
mother started crying. The stranger handed them a bag of money. The stranger said he got donations
from all the workers to help with the funeral. Then it dawned on the father what had happened. He had

Coming Of Age Model
The movie I ve chosen to display the Coming of Age theme is Beauty the Beast; a classic Disney tale
whose story revolves around a young, middle class book worm named Belle, and a conceited prince
turned monster who is only ever referred to as Beast . I believe this movie perfectly fits into the
Coming of Age model as both of its main characters experience drastic life changes, which turn out to
be valuable learning experiences in the end. On Belle s side of things, a series of unfortunate events in
relation to her father wind her up a prisoner for life to, you guessed it, the Beast. In her so called
imprisonment , Belle captivates the heart of the Beast, along with the other inhabitants of his castle,
and becomes independent as a result of her deficient parental unit. ... Show more content on

Sometimes spending time alone, and away from the ordinary is the best form of emotional therapy.
Moving onto Belle s costar, the Beast, viewers of the film cannot help but see the drastic character
development which occurs. Right from the beginning, the Beast is spoken of very poorly, as a result of
his self righteous attitude toward the world. Due to his unkind behaviour, a witch casts a spell on him,
which morphs him into his monstrous form. His human form would be his to hold again, as long as he
could change his ways, and have someone fall in love with him. The Beast wastes no time in throwing
a fit, and eventually disappears into despair; however, once Belle enters his life, the disgruntled prince
makes an effort to change his ways, if only to earn her affections. Both Belle and the Beast learn from
one another, which I think makes their relationship that much more meaningful. Not only do they fall
in love, but they truly care for the development of one another, and are determined to change
themselves for the better in order to be

Analysis Of Michael Patrick King s The City Franchise
Second edition of Sex in the City franchise by director Michael Patrick King, the girls are settling into
their 40 s or in Samantha s case her 50 s. Each gal is still looking fabulous but needing a break from
the doldrums of daily life, they are invited to Abu Dhabi to experience the newest hotel in hopes that
Samantha s PR firm will endorse it. The bulk of the movie follows the ladies on their awkward
vacation in the rigid Middle East and the life lessons learned there. Sex in the City 2 misses the mark
in its latest attempt at the box office by choosing the location of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab
Emirates, scripting a lazy floundering plot line and a movie length that could have been trimmed by
more than a few minutes. The first and greatest downfall of this movie is simply the location. Sending
the fully liberated girls to Abu Dhabi is just a stupid mistake for two reasons. First, it s 2010 and
America is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and so why the writers chose another Muslim country to
send their main characters to on a vacation is beyond me. In a time when we have so many of our
brothers and sisters fighting in wars in the Middle East, to glorify Abu Dhabi as a vacation location
can be considered by many as offensive. Second, if the creators were looking for exotic locations,
there are many other places to be found? Paris may not be exotic but it is fashionable and far enough
away to be exotic to Holly Housewife who is shelling out the eight dollars to see

The Summer Of The Mariposas
In the book The Summer of the Mariposas, there is a connection with an Ancient Greek story called
the Odyssey. Some characters are also similar in both stories. The witch Cecilia and the Greek witch
Circe can have connections with appearance, with actions, and with the rest of the influence on the
story. Circe had great influence and many similarities on the Summer of the Mariposas witch, Cecilia.
This is something of great importance, and will show how this similarity can be seen with other
characters and other books.
In appearance, both witches have similar characteristics, first example being in seduction. In the book
the girls were charmed by her love and affection, much like the men of Odysseus were in the odyssey.
An example of Cecilia doing this would be when she is comforting Pita by saying Come here, darling.
Everything s going to be okay. I promise (McCall 136). Cecilia manipulated the girls into this as well
as in appearance. She is described in always good ways like being lovely and petite as well as being
addressed as the enchanting woman began doting on us, like a tiny yellow butterfly, fluttering about
(McCall 130). In the odyssey Circe is showed as well in a loving calm way. The quote You ought not
to be, for I have already sworn solemnly that I will not hurt you it shows she tries to manipulate them
in the same passive way as Cecilia did(Homer, and Samuel Butler, Book 10, 7). Both try with
affection and deceiving to woo the heroes into their trap,

Neuroticism And Extraversion Essay
Personality traits may contribute significantly in influencing SWB. The most repeated finding in this
field is the relationship between Extraversion and positive affect on the impact of SWB (Eid,
Riemann, Angleitner Borkenau, 2003). This connection can work in two ways. To begin with, people
have a tendency to be happier in social circumstances (Pavot, Diener Fujita, 1990), and they should be
happier in light of the fact that extraverts invest more energy socially (Watson, Clark, McIntyre
Hamaker, 1992). Second, Extraversion by and large has a positive effect on friends, family, and other
relationships, while Neuroticism is regularly a negative indicator (Anderson, John, Keltner Kring,
2001; Belsky, Jaffee, Caspi, Moffit Silva, 2003; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Literature reviews since the times of Wilson (1967) point to such elements as optimism, sociability
and extraversion as the essential sources, or at least correlates with SWB. Happiness and its elements
are connected differentially and anotomously to the personality traits of Extraversion and Neuroticism
has been broadly recorded since Costa and McCrae (1980) exhibited that positive affect associates
with Extraversion and that negative affect corresponds contrarily with Neuroticism. Notion that
Extraversion is the overwhelming predictor of happiness would seem, by all accounts, to be plainly
obvious in light of the fact that Extraversion is connected with friendships and social interactions,
which are major source of happiness and personal fulfilment in both private and public life (Campbell,
Converse Rodgers, 1976). Moreover, modern culture implements a high level of social activity and
interaction, both due to a constantly expanding population and on account o an expanding
interreliance on others to meet the regular needs of living (Pavot, Diener Fujita,

Introduction
Background Henry Ford
Founded in 1903, Henry Ford managed to get investor support to open the first manufacturing
automobile company in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Motor Company has been known for its mass
production of vehicles using a perfected assembly line method and its innovations in the automobile
industry. Ford s famous Model T was developed as an innovative automobile that could be produced
quickly, while keeping the cost to a minimum. This allowed people with a lower income the
opportunity to afford an automobile. One of the biggest changes in the automobile industry occurred
in 1913 with the introduction of a perfected assembly line method. This assembly line method was the
one of the main reasons Ford Motor Company was able to keep the cost of vehicles and the production
time to a minimum. Ford also took the first step to increase wages of their employees above the
industry standard. Although it was still a very low value, Ford offered $5 per day which was a huge
improvement from the $2.34 per day that most companies offered.
By the 1930 s Ford was a primary target of the United Automobile Workers (UAW) union to increase
wages and working conditions. Despite attempts by Henry Ford to keep the Unions out of the
company, the Supreme Court rulings forced Ford to work with the UAW. Another sentence....

The Bald Eagle And The Eagle
The Bald Eagle
While camping last year I witnessed a bald eagle chase a small bird for a fish it had in its claws and I
wondered why such a larger and powerful bird didn t simply get it s own food. So when I took this
class and was given an opportunity to do some research on this bird, I jumped at the opportunity.
The bald eagle has been on this continent for thousands of years, long before Columbus made the
claim that he discovered North America (History.com.). In old photographs and history books focused
on the natives of North America, we find that the eagle was a spiritual symbol (Horse, 1.). In 1782
congress adapted the bald eagle as the nation s bird and national symbol. The bird was chosen for it s
majestic beauty, great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ornithologists have reported that there is a limited population of bald eagles in places like Vermont,
Arizona, Rhode Island and Mexico. The Bald Eagle is somewhat of a hobo in the Caribbean Islands,
Belize and Bermuda. There are rumors of sightings of the Bald Eagle in Northeastern Asia, Sweden,
Greenland, Siberia and Ireland (Alderfer.)
Habitat
The bald eagle characteristically prefers sectors near large water forms such as seacoasts, lakes and
rivers. In many areas, the Bald Eagle is found less than 2 miles from the water source (Brown, 745.)
While the places they call home vary from state to state, three themes are common to their choice of
habitat:
First, the availability of the prey. The bald eagle is known for its hunting skills but many people don t
realize the bird is also a scavenger. It likes to eat dead fish, road kill or left overs from other animals in
the natural food chain (Andrews.)
Second is the availability of tall trees or sturdy conifers trees tall enough to provide an easy flight and
view above the forest (Brown.)
Third, the degree of human disturbance. The bald eagle is not accustomed to humans and prefers to
stay away from us at all times. The bird avoids any and all contact with humans and will even go
without eating if it thinks humans are in the area (Brown.)
Although these three common denominators are vital to the bald eagle s survival, other factors come
into play with changing seasons. The bird

Renewable Energy For The Changing World
Karina Vanous Smith
Political Economy 13 January 2015
Renewable Energy for the Changing World
Currently, there is a call for alternative energies to replace our harmful energy sources that are
bringing the world closer and closer to global warming. As of right now, America s economy is mostly
dependent on destructive fossil fuels for its energy supply. Our country is producing a quarter of the
world s pollution. Usage of fossil fuels has increasingly contributed to the CO2 emissions, which is
polluting our environment. It is destroying natural habitats and causing an increase in health problems.
If our harmful methods continue, our planet will eventually become uninhabitable. Fossil fuels are
considered a nonrenewable resource, which means we are required to find a new and clean renewable
energy source. These new energy sources must be readily available for the world s energy demands.
Our vision should focus on environmentally friendly and efficient energies such as wind and solar
power. Becoming more dependent on wind and solar power would mean having an infinite amount of
energy and create more job opportunities, which would help the world s economy as well.
Americans use wind and solar energy because they are not only environmentally friendly, but are
affordable and an abundant source of energy. The United States has some of the best wind resources in
the world, with enough potential energy to produce nearly 10 times the country s existing power needs

gilomas by 40% with 1640 hours or more of use (Burrell). This equals out to about 30 minutes per day
for ten years. Another study done by the Hardell Research Group concluded that using cell phones
gives you an increased risk of developing gilomas or acoustic neuromas (Burrell). Another study done
in the UK in 2013 studied 790,000 women and found that women using cell phones at least 10 hours a
day are 2 1/2 times more likely to acquire an acoustic neuroma (Burrell). In the 1990s, at the
University of Washington, Professor Lai linked cell phone radiation exposure directly to single
stranded DNA breaks. This is important because, micronuclei proliferation indicates a type of DNA
damage strongly associated with cancer (Burrell). Not only can cell phones give you two different
types of deadly brain tumors, but it can also give you eye cancer, lymph node cancer, breast cancer,
thyroid cancer, stem cell cancer, leukemia, paratoid malignant tumors, cancer of the pituitary gland,
melanomas, and it can damage your DNA, which in turn can lead to cancer (Burrell). To conclude,
major damage can be done to your brain and whole body if too much time is spent

  • 2. Unrealistic School Dress Codes Unrealistic Dress Codes Are school dress codes fair to you? School dress codes have been a controversial topic for a while. They have been mentioned in many places such as: social media, articles, schools, etc. Although they may prevent some students from dressing provocative , they also take away the child s right to be comfortable. Dress codes should be changed for multiple reasons. They are sexist, unconstitutional, unnecessary extra cost, and they take away each kid s unique style. Dress codes have always been more trouble than they re worth. I don t think dress codes should be completely taken away, but modified greatly. Student comfort is important in order to maximize learning outcomes (Chen). Students should be able to go to school and learn without being criticized over petty things. Wearing pajamas to school doesn t affect anyone s learning abilities. In fact, it only has a positive effect. If a child feels comfortable in their setting, then said child will be attentive and productive. Thus, if a child is comfortable at school, they would theoretically learn better. As a result of learning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Girls shouldn t be punished just because a simple bra strap is showing or for wearing a pair of leggings to school. These sort of acts are deemed distracting to the boys in class just because a boy may so happen cast a glance in their direction. Now first and foremost, a boy is in class to learn and he should be worried about his education NOT what the girl beside him is wearing. Personally, leggings are comfortable and easy to just throw on when I m running late or just want to be lazy for the day. In most schools, girls get in trouble for wearing leggings, even if her shirt covers her bottom. I ve never seen a boy called out for his attire, even though they also break the rules (The Atlantic). If a school s dress code is going to be in effect, it needs to apply to ALL students, not just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But what really had happened was this boy named hector stole the shoes and threw them after her got scared and they then fell on Stanley and they cops found Stanley with the cleats. So Stanley had the choice of going to jail or going to camp green lake, he chose camp green lake. Camp green lake is a place where troubled kids go and dig holes every day. So for the first few days he digs his hole a day, its not that easy. Later on that week Stanley meets this boy named Zero , the people in the camp called him zero because he wouldn t talk at all to them. Stanley and zero become good friends over the time. Stanley then receives a letter from his parents and he think zero is reading it but zero can t read, zero wanted to be taught to read. So then they climbed the mountain and they got really lucky because on top of that mountain were onions and water. Zero and Stanley stay there for a few nights. • 4. My Life s Up And Downs And The Decisions As I look back at my life s up and downs and the decisions I ve made along the way, thing could have gone for better or worse, hence the motto in the title. I can recall making small decisions on what I should spend my time on, either play with my childhood friend s after school or review the homework that I finished in class? Playtime almost won every time. Even though I knew that reviewing some of my homework could only help me, even with the good grades I was already making, the decision was made that I wanted to play more than study. At an early age I began to finish my homework beforehand so I could spend more time out playing with my friends and eventually I formed a comfort zone that showed consistency and balance between my grades and studying habits; I studied zilch yet received high grades that included many A s on tests. As time went on the same process continued and I was still able to remain on track and keep my high grades throughout middle and high school. The following years really struck me as a surprise when I entered my first college year and first set of assignments. Considering my standard work load of finishing my homework at school was completely halted due to the mere fact that class lasted a lot longer but with no time to finish the homework assignment before leaving class yet even take a look at it. Everything was starting to get restructured and my norm was thrown out the window after a rough first semester. Throughout my life there s been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Reca Protein Analysis RecA, derived from Escherichia coli, is a multipurpose protein that plays pivotal roles in the three essential and correlated biological events of homologous recombination, regulation of expression to unlinked genes due to DNA damage (also known as the SOS response), and mutagenesis. Within this gamut of processes in which RecA aids, the protein is specifically needed to drive three biochemical actions: interchanging homologous DNA, processing effector proteins for the SOS induction, and communicating between mutagenic proteins factors to drive synthesis past DNA lesions. Homologous recombination, the process in which double stranded DNA split and recombine between segments by sequence similarity to create new variations of alleles, is facilitated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The central domain (residues 34 269), containing eight twisted β sheet strands with coinciding α helices, holds DNA and ATP binding sites and is structurally similar to ATPase domains in DNA and RNA helicases. ATP will bind at the phosphate binding loops of this domain, found in many proteins involved in ATP binding (7). Amino acids lysine and threonine live near this P loop and directly interact with phosphate groups in ATP. Alongside, two disordered loops named L1 and L2 bind to ssDNA and the duplex DNA. What is important about L1 and L2 is that because they support one of the essential functions for RecA in DNA binding, they are highly conserved. Between the α helix G and L2 boundary lie two glycine residues that give a greater interaction between the positively charged amine groups of DNA helix and the negatively charged sugar phosphate backbone in DNA molecules ... Around 1.5 billion of population is occupied by Islam and nearly half billion of population is occupied by Buddhism ( http://www.worldometers.info/world population/). These two religion has different faith, belief, culture and tradition. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Surah 4:43). Prophet (the messenger of Allah) believes that intoxicants are highly displeasing to God, so he ordered people to destroy all kinds of intoxicating drinks. Prophet prohibits people from eating near the table containing any intoxicant drinks, forbids the use of vessel in which intoxicating drink (Khamr) has been made or served. He believes that God has cursed Khamr and the people who drinks it, serves it, carries it and the people to whom it has been carried. (Ahmad b. Hanbal, Musnad, vol. 2, p. 97; vol. 1, p. 316; Abu Da ud, Ashribah , 2 Ed.) Moreover, Quran mentions O you who have faith! Indeed wine, gambling, idols and the divining arrows are abominations of Satan s doing, so avoid them, so that you may be felicitous. (Quran 5:90). Quran believes that intoxicants are the tools used by Satan (an evil) to distract humankind from the worship of God. Satan excites enmity and hatred between people, hinder them from remembering and praying God. Alcohol leads to sinful behavior and unsafe sexual behavior which is strictly against the law of Allah so to have the Mercy of Allah Muslims (people of Islamic religion) strictly stop consuming alcohol and other intoxicants. • 7. Structural Plasticity In Hippocampus Sexual experience promotes adult neurogenesis in the hippocampus despite an initial elevation in stress hormones Introduction: Structural plasticity in the hippocampus is sensitive to a wide range of negative experiences, many of which appear to have substantial effects throughout the lifespan. Stressors and aversive experiences activate the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis and ultimately increase glucocorticoid levels which adversely influences numerous aspects of hippocampal structure, including suppression of cell proliferation, alteration in dendritic architecture and diminished synaptic plasticity. However, there are other experiences such as physical exercises and running which, although increase the levels of glucocorticoid, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aristotle Greek Philosopher, 4th Century B.C. EXPLORING HOW CHILDREN DEVELOP Twentieth century philosopher George Santayana once reflected, Children are on a different plane. They belong to a generation and way of feeling properly their own. Let s explore what that plane is like. Why Studying Children s Development Is Important Why study children s development? As a teacher, you will be responsible for a new wave of children each year in your classroom. The more you learn about children s development, the more you can understand at what level it is appropriate to teach them. Childhood has become such a distinct phase of the human life span that it is hard to imagine that it was not always thought of in that way. However, in medieval times, laws generally did not distinguish between child and adult offences and children were often treated like miniature adults. Today we view children quite differently than was the case in medieval times. We conceive of childhood as a highly eventful and unique time of life that lays an important foundation for the adult years and is highly differentiated from them. We identify distinct periods within childhood in which

Stress is defined as A state of psychological and psychological arousal that results when outside demands surpass a person s abilities (Zajacova, Lynch, Espenshade, 2005). The increased pattern of stress is due to more college students determining their success based upon materialistic measures and thinking futuristically (Zajacova et al., 2005). Unfortunately, a rise in stress can have many adverse health outcomes for most people. Stress suppresses the immune system, making it more difficult for your body to fight off viruses that lead to a variety of illnesses (Straub, 2014). That being said, My Real Age Test showed my inability to manage my stress was a large concern and will be the focus of my intervention (Sharecare, 2015). • 16. The Importance Of Education For ELL Students English learners are currently the fastest developing student population in schools today. This makes it extremely important to provide these students with the programs and services they deserve. Providing a strong education for ELL students is what I personally believe to be an asset in America s future. Today there are many challenges I believe teachers and students face when it comes to instruction and assessments. For teachers, I believe they are lacking in having efficient data, practices, and resources. These three categories play an essential role in educating, evaluating, and caring for ELL students. Communication is a huge factor when it comes to instruction in the classroom. In the past research has shown poor communication between teachers, students and families. Schools often lack in providing differentiated methods and tools to teach ELL students. Schools in the past have failed to offer the correct assessments that were needed in order to diagnose each student s needs and measure their individualized learning standards. Educators can easily become frustrated because there is such a wide range of English learners. This means academic levels are different and the educators have not received the proper training or instructions on how to correctly educate ELL students. I believe students face the challenges of assessment and accommodations in different ways than their educators. In the past testing accommodations for schools were often found to be unpredictable ... Blazing rays of LED lights shone through the entrance s translucent windows. Brightness and gleams engulfed my vision like a wildfire. My eyes blink, trying to focus where I was walking. As I paced myself through the crowded corridors of the large hallway trying to find my group of friends, I could see murals of sea animals everywhere and signs directing where each exhibit was. Animated and overjoyed, I pranced to the first exhibit where the baby sand sharks were. They were extraordinary, swimming around their tank but sadly not able to leave their confined space. Their tank only allowed them to swim continuously in circles. Although animals in captivity tend to live longer than animals in the wild, it is depressing to mull over how they were stripped of their freedom. There was nowhere to escape when housed in such small enclosures. While exploring the intriguing domain, I stared wide eyed in the dim rooms, my face was illuminated by the glowing tanks while fish and other marine life gawked at me. It was as if they wanted me to join them or aid them to escape their aquatic prison. It was depressing to be so close to them, to be only separated by glass, but unable to save them. They also use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, with subtraction calculations, this is not possible. Hence they are expected to use inverse relationship between addition and subtraction to check calculations and solve missing number problems. (NC, 2013). One of the approaches, which is highly recommended for children to practise, is to do addition calculations mentally (working out calculations in their head) using various strategies, which is the focus of this essay. Tony Cotton (2013, p.109) states that developing mental approaches is more efficient to work out solutions to problems and helps children to become fluent in mental calculation. However, doing mental calculations, such as addition, can be challenging and confusing for some children. Therefore, introducing appropriate strategies (for example counting on, partitioning, bridging through 10) and using them to draw images or mark making will encourage children to see calculations in their heads and will allow them to use the strategy which is the most suited for them (Cotton, 2013, p. 110). Ian Thomson also suggests (I part 1 addition) that visual representation plays an important role in developing mental addition. for example, number lines help children to recognise place value and with prior knowledge of ordinal sense of numbers, it helps them to move from counting in ones to counting in larger steps, such as 2, 5, 10, 100 and so ... Piaget classified a stage as a period during which children s behaviours and thoughts reflected a certain type of underlying mental structure (Fialho, 2016). He believed that each stage was interconnected, in that each of the stages derives from its predecessor. The stages must be performed in the order in which Piaget specified. Piaget also claimed that the stages were universal across all cultures (Tourmen, 2016). The first stage, the Sensorimotor stage occurs from birth to two years old. During this time, children gain knowledge regarding their sensory and motor abilities. The second stage is called the preoperational stage, which occurs from the ages of two, to seven. Once children reach this stage, they can use language, symbolic thought and mental imagery (Wellman, 2011). The Concrete operational stage is the third stage of development and occurs around seven to eleven years old. • 29. Analysis Of Michael Patrick King s The City Franchise Second edition of Sex in the City franchise by director Michael Patrick King, the girls are settling into their 40 s or in Samantha s case her 50 s. Each gal is still looking fabulous but needing a break from the doldrums of daily life, they are invited to Abu Dhabi to experience the newest hotel in hopes that Samantha s PR firm will endorse it. The bulk of the movie follows the ladies on their awkward vacation in the rigid Middle East and the life lessons learned there. Sex in the City 2 misses the mark in its latest attempt at the box office by choosing the location of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates, scripting a lazy floundering plot line and a movie length that could have been trimmed by more than a few minutes. The first and greatest downfall of this movie is simply the location. Sending the fully liberated girls to Abu Dhabi is just a stupid mistake for two reasons. First, it s 2010 and America is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and so why the writers chose another Muslim country to send their main characters to on a vacation is beyond me. In a time when we have so many of our brothers and sisters fighting in wars in the Middle East, to glorify Abu Dhabi as a vacation location can be considered by many as offensive. Second, if the creators were looking for exotic locations, there are many other places to be found? Paris may not be exotic but it is fashionable and far enough away to be exotic to Holly Housewife who is shelling out the eight dollars to see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Summer Of The Mariposas In the book The Summer of the Mariposas, there is a connection with an Ancient Greek story called the Odyssey. Some characters are also similar in both stories. The witch Cecilia and the Greek witch Circe can have connections with appearance, with actions, and with the rest of the influence on the story. Circe had great influence and many similarities on the Summer of the Mariposas witch, Cecilia. This is something of great importance, and will show how this similarity can be seen with other characters and other books. In appearance, both witches have similar characteristics, first example being in seduction. In the book the girls were charmed by her love and affection, much like the men of Odysseus were in the odyssey. An example of Cecilia doing this would be when she is comforting Pita by saying Come here, darling. Everything s going to be okay. I promise (McCall 136). Cecilia manipulated the girls into this as well as in appearance. She is described in always good ways like being lovely and petite as well as being addressed as the enchanting woman began doting on us, like a tiny yellow butterfly, fluttering about (McCall 130). In the odyssey Circe is showed as well in a loving calm way. The quote You ought not to be, for I have already sworn solemnly that I will not hurt you it shows she tries to manipulate them in the same passive way as Cecilia did(Homer, and Samuel Butler, Book 10, 7). Both try with affection and deceiving to woo the heroes into their trap, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Neuroticism And Extraversion Essay Personality traits may contribute significantly in influencing SWB. The most repeated finding in this field is the relationship between Extraversion and positive affect on the impact of SWB (Eid, Riemann, Angleitner Borkenau, 2003). This connection can work in two ways. To begin with, people have a tendency to be happier in social circumstances (Pavot, Diener Fujita, 1990), and they should be happier in light of the fact that extraverts invest more energy socially (Watson, Clark, McIntyre Hamaker, 1992). Second, Extraversion by and large has a positive effect on friends, family, and other relationships, while Neuroticism is regularly a negative indicator (Anderson, John, Keltner Kring, 2001; Belsky, Jaffee, Caspi, Moffit Silva, 2003; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Literature reviews since the times of Wilson (1967) point to such elements as optimism, sociability and extraversion as the essential sources, or at least correlates with SWB. Happiness and its elements are connected differentially and anotomously to the personality traits of Extraversion and Neuroticism has been broadly recorded since Costa and McCrae (1980) exhibited that positive affect associates with Extraversion and that negative affect corresponds contrarily with Neuroticism. Notion that Extraversion is the overwhelming predictor of happiness would seem, by all accounts, to be plainly obvious in light of the fact that Extraversion is connected with friendships and social interactions, which are major source of happiness and personal fulfilment in both private and public life (Campbell, Converse Rodgers, 1976). Moreover, modern culture implements a high level of social activity and interaction, both due to a constantly expanding population and on account o an expanding interreliance on others to meet the regular needs of living (Pavot, Diener Fujita, ... Ford s Organizational Changes Of The Automobile Industry Ford s Organizational Changes Kimberly Rape Dana Mandell Chamindu Kavindra Organizational Behavior November 14, 2014 Introduction Background Henry Ford Founded in 1903, Henry Ford managed to get investor support to open the first manufacturing automobile company in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Motor Company has been known for its mass production of vehicles using a perfected assembly line method and its innovations in the automobile industry. Ford s famous Model T was developed as an innovative automobile that could be produced quickly, while keeping the cost to a minimum. This allowed people with a lower income the opportunity to afford an automobile. One of the biggest changes in the automobile industry occurred in 1913 with the introduction of a perfected assembly line method. This assembly line method was the one of the main reasons Ford Motor Company was able to keep the cost of vehicles and the production time to a minimum. Ford also took the first step to increase wages of their employees above the industry standard. Although it was still a very low value, Ford offered $5 per day which was a huge improvement from the $2.34 per day that most companies offered. By the 1930 s Ford was a primary target of the United Automobile Workers (UAW) union to increase wages and working conditions. So when I took this class and was given an opportunity to do some research on this bird, I jumped at the opportunity. The bald eagle has been on this continent for thousands of years, long before Columbus made the claim that he discovered North America (History.com.). In old photographs and history books focused on the natives of North America, we find that the eagle was a spiritual symbol (Horse, 1.). In 1782 congress adapted the bald eagle as the nation s bird and national symbol. The bird was chosen for it s majestic beauty, great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Bald Eagle is somewhat of a hobo in the Caribbean Islands, Belize and Bermuda. There are rumors of sightings of the Bald Eagle in Northeastern Asia, Sweden, Greenland, Siberia and Ireland (Alderfer.) Habitat The bald eagle characteristically prefers sectors near large water forms such as seacoasts, lakes and rivers. In many areas, the Bald Eagle is found less than 2 miles from the water source (Brown, 745.) While the places they call home vary from state to state, three themes are common to their choice of habitat: First, the availability of the prey. The bald eagle is known for its hunting skills but many people don t realize the bird is also a scavenger. It likes to eat dead fish, road kill or left overs from other animals in the natural food chain (Andrews.) Second is the availability of tall trees or sturdy conifers trees tall enough to provide an easy flight and view above the forest (Brown.) Third, the degree of human disturbance. The bald eagle is not accustomed to humans and prefers to stay away from us at all times. The bird avoids any and all contact with humans and will even go without eating if it thinks humans are in the area (Brown.) Although these three common denominators are vital to the bald eagle s survival, other factors come into play with changing seasons. The bird ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Renewable Energy For The Changing World Karina Vanous Smith Political Economy 13 January 2015 Renewable Energy for the Changing World Currently, there is a call for alternative energies to replace our harmful energy sources that are bringing the world closer and closer to global warming. As of right now, America s economy is mostly dependent on destructive fossil fuels for its energy supply. Our country is producing a quarter of the world s pollution. Usage of fossil fuels has increasingly contributed to the CO2 emissions, which is polluting our environment. It is destroying natural habitats and causing an increase in health problems. If our harmful methods continue, our planet will eventually become uninhabitable. Fossil fuels are considered a nonrenewable resource, which means we are required to find a new and clean renewable energy source. These new energy sources must be readily available for the world s energy demands. Our vision should focus on environmentally friendly and efficient energies such as wind and solar power. Becoming more dependent on wind and solar power would mean having an infinite amount of energy and create more job opportunities, which would help the world s economy as well. Americans use wind and solar energy because they are not only environmentally friendly, but are affordable and an abundant source of energy. The United States has some of the best wind resources in the world, with enough potential energy to produce nearly 10 times the country s existing power needs (Clean Line ...
