Haier, Taking a Chinese Company Global
HAIER, TAKING A CHINESE COMPANY GLOBAL 1. SUMMARY
Haier ( the Company ) was China s biggest white goods producer and supplier in 1990s. In 1984, there
was nearly 300 local producers in China market, most of which were producing poor quality goods.
However, customers were willing to pay more for higher quality products and reliable service. This
need created an advantage for differentiation.
In Chinese market, demand was high. Haier being able to read customer need properly, focused on
Product Quality, After Sale Services and Brand Building. While there was oversupply in the market,
with product differentiation Haier was able to raise its prices. Their target was to be a first class brand.
In early 1990s, while the demand was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He named the strategy as Three Thirds , with a long term goal of generating revenues from three
different categories of sales; 1. One third from goods produced and sold in China. 2. One third
produced in China, and sold overseas. 3. One third produced and sold overseas.
In other words, with this Global Strategy, Haier entered into international markets in 3 different ways;
1. It first exported to global markets, 2. Then established JV ( Joint Ventures ) with the local firms and,
3. Finally made investments and set up production facilities overseas, in global markets.
Haiser entered into overseas markets as a contract manufacturer for multinational brands in early
1990s. First exported products to UK, then Germany, France and Italy. It also establisted joint ventures
to explore the foreign markets; i.e. established a JV with Mitsubishi to set up China s largest AC ( air
conditioners ) production plant in 1994, in 1995 set up a JV with a local firm in India to produce
refrigerators and ACs, in 1997 establised a JV with a Yugoslav company in Belgrade to produce ACs.
In line with the expansion strategy, Haier made a technology licence agreement with a German
manufacturer Liebherr, realizing that the German goods are of higher quality. The Company initally

Reflection About Apathy
Students line the patterned red seats in the high school auditorium. While the speaker on stage bellows
his gospel of forgiveness, some students halfheartedly nod along, some stare at their shoes, and some
snore. Looking around the chapel from my seat in the back row, I am overwhelmed with one
impression: apathy. This mood that hung in the room was pervasive, making me feel uncomfortable
because I realized that I felt it too. While I usually enjoy learning for its own sake, apathy has not
escaped me. Not only does this mindset manifest in my school s chapel services, but also in the
classroom. When students do not care about learning, they either put in the least amount of effort
possible or resort to rote memorization to maintain their grade. Instead of understanding the material,
they glean little knowledge that they can apply to their lives, making education relatively pointless.
This thoughtlessness maddens me because I want to be purposeful in everything that I do. During my
junior year of high school, apathetic students and teachers led me to rediscover the power I have over
my own education. In my physics class, I was miserable: I did not learn I memorized. Although my
teacher had good intentions and a passion for the subject, he taught us terms and formulas, skirting
around fundamentals such as how these concepts connected to each other. Work equals the applied
force times change in time times cosine of the angle. As I sat in my front row seat and

Billy Elliot Analysis
The film Billy Elliot, by Stephen Daldry, gives a point of view of what this young boy goes through
when he is family does not accept his new found love for ballet. One day at boxing practice, Billy sees
the ballet practice going on and decides to join in. Little did he know he would enjoy it as much as he
did. Although Billy enjoyed it so much, it was not easily accepted by his family and they made that
show clearly understood. Throughout the film this is the storyline that is really defining the separation
between sex and gender. I believe the author, Stephen Daldry, uses the separation between sex and
gender to show what the gender norms are and how they are looked down upon in some places if not
followed correctly.
After Billy s first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

already understands he is more into boys than girls, Billy becomes very interested in how a boy so
young can already know that. Thinking about the fact that Michael and Billy are the same age and
assuming that Michael is not forming to the basic boy actions of society it is very impressive that
these boys do not care about what others think about them. Such as the scene where Billy shows up at

John F Kennedy Informative Speech
John Fitzgerald Kennedy My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what
you can do for your country. This is a famous quote said by President John Fitzgerald Kennedy when
he was getting to take the oath of holding the potential position during the Inaugural address. This
quote has been an inspiration of an unaccountable number of American lives. Flashback to November
22,1963, at Dallas, TX, the day of the assassination of President Kennedy, which was a shocking news

amazing that President Kennedy was, what miraculous accomplishments that he has achieved and
what strenuous obstacles that he has overcame in his lifetime, anybody would be saddened or
regretting his decease. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, as known as Jack Kennedy or simply known for his

Essay on Innovation of weapons during World War I
Within World War I began a new age of warfare. As compared to previous engagements, the adoption
of new weapons changed the way in World War I was fought. Not only did the concept of war change
in terms of where battles were fought, how much revenue must be spent on the war and how much
time a war could span; weapons changed. During the Indian Wars and War for independence, basic
weapons were used. World War I began to become mobile. Use of planes, tanks and other
technological advances had been implemented. The technological advances brought about were
implemented within this war in an attempt to make the war last a shorter and to show prestige. Not

According to Wolff (1958), the introduction of small arms with rapid fire capabilities and artillery lead
to armies digging miles and miles of trenches with fronted with barbed wire to adapt. Trench warfare
changed the nature in which the war could be fought because this defensive position, that often limited
movement, was utilized throughout the French and German borders. Trenches hindered any flanking
movement and limited armies from fighting opposing armies how they were used to. Therefore,
instead of making any bold flanking movements, soldiers had to utilize trenches to make frontal
attacks. During such movements, soldiers were often killed in mass numbers because there was no
cover or concealment from the friendly trench to the opposing army s trench. Often soldiers were
victim to machine gun fire or artillery. With this change in warfare, adaptation was necessary. (Wolff,
1958)
It was obvious that previous war tactics were now obsolete with the increased use of the machine gun.
In order to bypass the dangers of conducting a frontal attack of the enemy against the threat of
machine guns, new weapons were created and tested. Colonel Ernest Swinton of the British army laid
down critical specifications that had to be part of the end product. This creation was a tracked vehicle
that was large and trapezoid shaped. This tracked vehicle s ability to cross over trenches and other
uneven terrain, climb high obstacles, resist small arms fire and permit a

Life of the Female Pioneer on the Oregon Trail My life as a female pioneer taking the journey down
the Oregon Trail was one of hardship and adventure. During the early 1800s settlers began to explore
new territory in the New World looking for new opportunities. Through the pioneer journeys of Lewis
and Clark a route through America was discovered that would take settlers to new land in the Pacific
Northwest portion of the country. To reach the new land pioneers, such as I, had to travel down what
became known as the Oregon Trail. Through the Oregon Trail the expansion of the West began but to

Women were forced to become the slave of an Indian family or the wife of an Indian brave while the
children were adopted by Indian families or made to be slaves. I and the other women were
responsible for ensuring the food supply lasted on the long journey as well as packing the wagon. We
were also responsible for cooking the meals on the Oregon Trail. We were required to wear long
dresses with long sleeves in oppressive heat and care for all of the needs of the men and children as
well as tend to the sick. There was a major risk to the female pioneer of losing our husbands or even
our children to illness or accidents along the Oregon Trail. If the food supply ran short the men would
hunt for food, use supplies meant for our new homes, or die of starvation. Illnesses, such as Typhoid
and cholera, were common and would spread through the wagon trains creating more work for us
women (Bledsoe, 1984). The overworked women would in turn become more vulnerable to becoming
sick and perishing. Women who gave birth while on the Oregon Trail faced vast difficulty and in many
cases the female pioneer or the new born would die. Women pioneers were usually fairly young
because women during this time married as young as 14 but quickly toughened up because of the
major responsibilities we faced on the trail. Despite the many hardships faced by myself and the other
female pioneers, we helped to pave the

Advantages Of Spanish Colonization In The Philippines
The Philippine were discovered in 1521 by the Spanish. It s the third largest nation that speaks English
in the world. The country is divided into three main areas: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It has 17
regions, 122 cities, and 42,025 barangays. The Philippines were colonized by three countries Spain,
America, and Japan. America colonized the Philippines, because they wanted to become an empire,
and to expand more. They wanted to expand to have more lands, power, resources, more production,
and especially more money. Also the USA didn t want lose the Philippines island to Japan or

Theory Schemas are mental representation of knowledge built through experiences from people,
situation or object. Schema Theory is divided into three stages to get a better understanding of the
memory processes which are 1. Encoding Transforming sensory information to meaningful memory 2.
Storage Creates a biological trace of the memory, which is either consolidated or lost 3. Retrieval
using stores information all the time . Schema is seen as a kind of framework where some information

because people who had the buyer schema changed to burglar schema at encoding were able to
retrieve burglar info when schema was changed and vice versa. Some evaluation that came up was
that the participants were asked to read from only one perspective from two, and it was controlled and
conducted in a lab. Also after the delay of 12 minutes participants were asked to recall the story again
which would give more accurate results of what they are trying to find. This experiment helps to
explain many cognitive processes. There were more and more researches took place on schema theory,
another example is an experiment conducted by Bower et al which was called The restaurant script . In
this experiment participants were asked to name 20 steps that would happen when they visit a
restaurant. After this experiment was conducted he came to a conclusion that around 15 steps defined
that most of the people what it means to eat at a restaurant. This steps list was later named by the
restaurant script. They use this kind of script information to write stories about people going to eat at a
restaurant. Later, these stories were presented to a new group of participants. These participants first

Environmental Changes In Lord Of The Flies
People are subject to change their way of life when their environment changes. The novel Lord of the
Flies is written by William Golding. The novel about a group of british boys who get trapped on an
island during a time over. Over the course of time they spend on the island some of the boys go into a
savage state of mind. However some had balance between savagery and civilization. Throughout the
novel Golding reveals that humans are conditioned by their environment to behave in either moral, or
immoral ways. Ralph illustrates that humans personalities can change because of the environment they
are in. When Ralph joins one of the tribes dances, his savagery takes over when, Ralph, carried away
by a sudden thick excitement, grabbed Eric s spear and jabbed at Robert with it (114). This proves that
when someone s environment changes so does their personality. It displays that even the kindest of
people can succumb to the dark side. However, when the naval officer comes to rescue the boys Ralph
began to, Ralph wept for end of innocence, the darkness of a man s heart... (202). This reveals that

said nothing but, Memory of their new and shameful loyalty came to them. Eric was silent but Sam
tried to do his duty (187). This reveals that even if someone has succumb to savagery when even a
little bit of civilization is shown that can change for the better. When the twins are threatened by Jack,
the boys immediately give up Ralph s hiding spot, You re sure he meant in there . The twin moaned
faintly and then squealed again. He meant he d hide in there (192), but then regret it. This proves that
when the boys are threatened they give in to what savagery wants. When we realize what we have
done we regret it. When our environment changes we can succumb to doing evil

Hiroshima John Hersey Essay
Hiroshima, was written by Pulitzer Prize winner and author John Hersey in 1946. John Hersey was an
American journalist and novelist who was well known for his documentary works about the
calamitous events of WWII. In his book, Hiroshima, the stories of six victims of the attack are shared
following the drop of the American atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. His historical masterpiece is one
of the most important works of the twentieth century. At the time the book was published, Americans
had little insight on the details of the attack on the Japanese city. By writing this book, Hersey was
able to open the eyes of many Americans to the severity of effects of the attack experienced by
civilians. John Hersey writes the book a way in which he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As mentioned earlier, his retelling of their stories shows us their utter confusion and terror, which
helps to bring them to life for the audience. Therefore, as the characters experienced the bombing and
its later effects, they shared what only they could know and did not have all the information about the
attack. Because their personal accounts are overwhelming and in the mists of chaos, Hersey adds in
additional factual details to supplement the characters confusion of events and help the reader see the
devastation beyond the characters viewpoint. More specifically, Hersey includes information about the
abnormal water droplets after the bombing. On page 18 of Chapter 2 The Fire, Hersey illustrates that
Mr. Tanimoto recalled when huge drops of water the size of marbles began to fall, he half thought that
they must be coming from the hoses of firemen fighting the blaze. Hersey then explains that what Mr.
Tanimoto thought was coming from the firemen s hoses, were in fact drops of condensed moisture
failing from the turbulent tower of dust, heat, and fission fragments that had already risen miles into
the sky above Hiroshima, (18). John Hersey includes these added factual details to clarify the
experiences of the characters allowing for a deeper understanding of the readers and adding to the
expression of confusion from the

Heterogenous Mixture Lab
Discussion: In this lab, we needed to determine the percent calcium carbonate in a heterogenous
mixture and determine the molar volume of carbon dioxide gas at 273 K and 760 torr. Calcium
Carbonate is found in many different types of substances and formulations. It is an important
inorganic compound found in the Earth s crust. We also used the idea of standard temperature and
pressure which means that one mole of an ideal gas occupies 22.4 L. Since carbon dioxide is not an
ideal gas, it s molar volume will be different. We need to calculate the CO2 gas evolved from the

Comparison Of White Upper Class Male And Female
In early 1800s society, there was an Unequal power relation between male and female . Men were
traditionally seen as being the dominant, physically stronger and socially more powerful in terms of
status: traditional masculinity is a strength, rationality, stoicism and self reliance . Women s position in
society and within their homes was portrayed as subservient, obedient to their fathers, brothers and
male relatives and their husbands throughout their lives.

greater access to health services, better quality of care, additional contributions towards prevention
strategies, prior action taken on health issues, and lastly the role of primary care in reducing unreliable
and inefficient support towards cure (Dover, Christian 10). Primary care professionals serve as the

Comparing A Dollhouse And Long Days House And A Doll s Night
Whether it s wife vs husband, parent vs child, or brother vs brother, people s wills inevitably oppose
each other. Besides their play format, A Doll s House and Long Day s Journey Into Night share the
similar conflict of man versus man, mostly within a family. The Helmers marriage is traditional for the
late 19th century; Torvald works at a bank and manages the family s finances while Nora cares for the
house affairs and plays with her young children. In O Neill s novel, the Tyrones cheerfully eat
breakfast together but as the day progresses, the unified family crumbles at the hands of substance
abuse and difficult memories. By interacting with other characters, Nora and the Tyrones are forced to
accept the truth about their place in the houses hierarchies. Chirpy Nora Helmer of A Doll s House
begins the story coaxing her husband Torvald to gift her money for Christmas, hinting to the audience
that she has a questionable fascination with money (Ibsen 3). Similarly, she raises suspicion about the
sincerity of their happy marriage when she lies about snacking on macaroons, something so
insignificant that it would be pointless to lie unless she did not trust him (Ibsen 4). Later in Act I, an
old friend Mrs. Christine Linde visits, shares her troubles, and calls Nora naive because she has a
seemingly perfect life with her husband, children, and tasteful home, to which Nora counters with the
secret responsibility she has had to bear (Ibsen 10). Years ago Nora forged her dying father s signature
to illicitly borrow funds for her husband to recover from illness in warm Italy. To repay the
burdensome debt to Krogstad who harasses and blackmails her, Nora privately accumulates money
through manual work and her allowances from Torvald, who would find it painful and
humiliating...with his manly independence, to know that he owed [Nora] anything (Ibsen 12). At the
threat of snitching, Krogstad blackmails Nora to keep his job safe from her husband, the bank
manager. Once Nora actively wants her husband to recognize her crime, Krogstad is no longer the
antagonist Torvald is. Thus, Christine and Krogstad agree to marry each other as equals with
complementary needs without a husband, mother, or children to take care of,

Sacrifice In The Military
Sacrifice is giving up something you like, in order to help someone else, without expecting anything
in return. Some things that you can sacrifice are: belongings, comfort, or even just time. These can be
used to help the needy, or just give comfort to someone who needs it. A sacrifice is a way to show that
you care about someone or something, and that you want to help them. It could be something small,
like going to see a friend who needs your help instead of going to an activity you really want to do, or
something big, like giving your life to serve in the military.
There are many different types of sacrifice, be it time, money, physical possessions, or even just a
comfort. You can donate to charities that help those who need it. Everyday people make sacrifices,
even some they don t realize. One such sacrifice is helping someone do a job without expecting pay:
they don t have to help, and they sacrifice free time by helping. Another you give to a food drive, you
are sacrificing a possession, in order to help those who need it. When people donate to a blood drive,
they help people who might need it in the future by sacrificing the time to go there. These are just a
few of the types of sacrifice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you sacrifice, you can achieve goals, help the needy, improve a community, and more. Through

Becoming A Knight Process Essay
There were several steps involved in the process of becoming a knight. First, once a nobleman s son
was around seven years old, he would be sent off to a castle owned by a knight and would be taught
how to become a knight. Then he would become the knight s page. Most boys were pages for six or
seven years, during which they learnt many of the basic skills of knighthood. These included learning
to ride and care for a horse, training to fight, learning manners, learning how to hunt, and learning to
care for armour and equipment. He would also learn how to appreciate music and to read, and some
were even taught how to play the lute.
When the boy was around fourteen years old, and had done well enough, he would become a squire.
He was then assigned to a knight and became his personal assistant, and had to aid his knight in battle.

They were expected to know how to fight and would serve their lord according to the Code of
Chivalry.
Knights were involved in the Crusades as they wanted to reclaim holy land and perhaps create their
own kingdoms. All of the crusaders wanted to reconquer the holy land and were encouraged to do so
in 1095 CE by the Pope Urban II. The Christians enlisted as many knights as they could, as they were
the best warriors. Many of them supported Christian orders before they enlisted, and those of them
that hadn t would either be rejected or would be expected to change mindsets. Also, great leaders of
countries often brought their most loyal and brave knights with them to help fight in the

Opportunities
Ryanair is in general benefiting from the crises in the airline industry that are occurring at the moment.
The company is young and does not face problems in adapting to new environments at the same level
as the flag carriers. Developing small continental operating bases, such as Hahn closed to Frankfurt,
Germany and Charleroi in Brussels, Belgium, which will allow them to serve more routes and to
interconnect flights between the bases. Airline market and target business travelers on routes, which
are not served by bigger airlines at all. The youngest fleet carriers in its base.
Threats
Increasing aviation fuel prices / The airline faces threats due to general losses within the low budget
business and a rise in fuel prices. Being forced to gain market share from mature airlines and charters.
This will require a higher level of service and change of structure in order to be able to

Cultural Conflict In Tuptim s The King And I
The King and I takes place in Bangkok, Siam in the year 1862; after a recently widowed English
schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, and her son, Louis, move there to give the King of Siam s children
and wives a westernized education in hopes that this will plunge Bangkok into the modern world.
Anna struggles with the king because their cultural beliefs are so different, but the conflict diminishes
after the king finds out that Britain would like to take over Siam. He calls upon Anna to help him look
less barbaric and she advises him to invite the British and show them how wrong they are by dining
with them and showing a play written by Tuptim, the king s latest wife, based on Uncle Tom s Cabin.
After the play Tuptim runs away with her lover, but is caught and returned to the palace where the
king kills her lover and Tuptim is never seen again to Anna s dismay. She decides to leave Siam, but
on the day of her departure she is informed that the king is sick; she returns to see him right before he
dies and his son is made king to rule in the ways of the West.
The main conflict in The King and I is a cultural dispute between Anna s western ideas and the king s
traditional cultural values. From the very beginning, they establish this issue by showing Anna, Louis
and the ship s captain dressed in western clothes with Anna wearing a crinoline and Louis and the ship
s captain dressed in a suit being met by the Prime Minister of Bangkok who is dressed in traditional
Siamese clothes. They

An Essay on 3G Wireless Communication Technology
Branch: EEE
The advent of Wireless Communication
Communication has been one of the most fundamental aspects of human development. It took the
eccentric genius of Nikola Tesla to come up with the design of the first radio transmitter in 1891. The
first transatlantic radio communication in 1901 was a sign of further things to come. Communication

The recent introduction of 3G mobile services in India have however brought in enhanced data and
voice transmission and are welcome signs in the improvement in mobile communication technology.
The essay deals in depth with 3G wireless technology and the difference with its successors (3.5G and
4G) and predecessor (2G).
3G (3rd generation mobile telecommunications)
3G wireless technology represents the convergence of various 2G wireless telecommunications
systems into a single global system that includes both terrestrial and satellite components. One of the
most important aspects of 3G wireless technology is its ability to unify existing cellular standards,
such as CDMA, GSM, and TDMA, under one umbrella. It improves the efficiency of data can be
transferred through the cellular phone. The data transfer rates for third generation mobile
telecommunications is up to 2 Megabits per second. Aside from this feature, 3G cellular phones also
have conventional voice, fax and data services, as well as high resolution video and multimedia
services which can be used while on the move. It also includes mobile office services such as virtual
banking and online billing, video conferencing, online entertainment and access to the Internet.
International Mobile Telecommunications 2000 (IMT 2000), better known as 3G or 3rd Generation, is

Citizen Machiavelli In Hell
Mark Hulliung, writing in 1983, offers an extremely polemical work to the field in his book Citizen
Machiavelli. For Hulliung, Machiavelli is a genuine pagan and his intention with regard to religion
can be described only as an endeavor to replace the Christian world view with a pagan world view.
Moreover, he criticizes Christianity, while also politicizing it by appropriating it to his own end of
worldly glory. In a fashion that Robert Black later uses to brutal affect, Hulliung lambasts his
contemporary scholars, critiquing their viewpoints on Machiavelli. His Machiavelli appears as a
negative antagonistic man who wrote ironically in his religious ideals. A review of the book by Harvey
C. Mansfield points out that Hulliung s Machiavelli, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His work reads awkwardly, yet brilliant at the same time. In his pivotal work, which won the Pulitzer
for 1990, Grazia argues for a moralistic Machiavelli, who urged others toward right conduct, and
recognized it as his duty to teach good. He further argued that throughout Machiavelli s works, he
cannot be found to speak irreverently of God. The same cannot be said for his writings on the church
and churchmen. From this small section, one notes his dislike for the church; he uses both The Prince
and Discourses to criticize the church for its corruption of the Italians and its foreign policy. However,
Grazia quickly offers and apology for Machiavelli and states that Machiavelli is neither a heretic nor a
priest hater. He did maintain his good relationship with the Church, with friends in high places such as
cardinals and even popes. Furthermore, Grazia goes on to state in the last decade of his life, our author

Great Leap Forward Essay
Great Leap Forward was a movement during China s second Five Year Plan led by Communist Party
of China from 1958 to 1960, in order to improve the current situation of poverty and backwardness in
China at that time. Although it started with a good intention, the result of the Great Leap Forward was
disappointing. It was totally a mistake made by Mao during the exploration of socialist that it brought
a disaster to the Chinese economy and people s standards of living.
The causation of this failure event was complex and it is a topic worth many historians studying.

The initiation of Great Leap Forward was based on the basic situation and the information provided by
individuals and collectives at that time in China. Before the launch of Great Leap Forward, the current
status of Chinese economy was quite optimistic. The development of agricultural cooperatives was so
rapid that the number of cooperatives increased almost 45 times from 300 to over 14,000 in a short 2
year period. In addition, China had just achieved great success in the First Five Year Plan. The average
annual increase rate of the national income reached over 8.9 percent from 1953 to 1957. These
outcomes and achievement gave Mao an impression that people have the capacity to complete the
high indicators he set and made him feel that the new climax for the socialist masses is coming and all
the cadres should energetically lead the movement in a planned way.
However, some individuals and local cadres were not honest about the output they made. People used
to tell the good news only and hide the bad news to please superiors. Data and output were often
exaggerated. For instance, the total food production in four provinces was reported to the central
government as 66.8 billion in 1952, which seemed unrealistic. Although people intended to express

Sustainable Tourism In Ugand Principles Of Sustainable...
1. Introduction
Sustainable tourism is a very important element today because it not only meets the needs of the
present but also protecting and increasing opportunities of destinations for the future. Uganda (M.
Semakula M. Kiwanuka, 2017) is a country located in east central Africa, which has diverse
ecosystems such as rainforest jungles, high volcanic mountains on the border or the Albert Nile River
swamps. However, for many years Uganda has stagnated progress and development due to political
problems, environmental degradation and the spread of AIDS epidemic. By the beginning of the 21st
century, Uganda has taken new steps in political stability and gradually resolved its remaining
problems and became Africa s fastest growing economy. This paper is going to discuss about the key
issues and challenges in managing Uganda in term of two principles of sustainable development

Zoot Suit Riots Summary
In the United States, and especially in border states such as California, Mexican immigrants and
Mexican Americans have had to live with constant racism and discrimination throughout the better
part of the twentieth century. Finally, after years of trying to assimilate and live up to the American
standard, tempers finally reached their boiling point. The accumulation of pent up tension over the
years between the Anglo and Mexican communities reached its limit. The end result was the Zoot Suit
Riots. There are several important factors to take into consideration for the cause of the riots. It is
important to understand what Zoot Suits symbolized for the youths who expressed themselves through
it, the events leading up to the riots, and how ultimately, the relationship between the Anglo and
Mexican and Mexican American communities changed, tensions rose, after the riots occurred. ... Show

According to the author of The Zoot Suit and Style Warfare, Stuart Cosgrove, the zoot suit style may
have originated in African American neighborhoods, like Harlem, in New York City. Cosgrove points
out, that first the style was a way for African American youth to show how they were not to be seen as
less than. The style is described as extravagant, it is a suit that is normally a bit baggy on the body, but
dressier than what young people, mostly young men, were expected to wear on a daily basis. Although
the style was meant to serve as an empowering statement for African American youth, for Chicano
youth, the style seemed to signify gang activity to the Anglo community. This already shows how
tensions between the two communities were close to erupting even before the riots. There was major
distrust and suspicion from Anglos towards the Chicano community simply because they felt their

Serial Killers Vs Serial Killers
There are many different people in the United States. Many people follow the rules and regulations
that were implemented through the laws of being an American citizen, but there are many people who
do not follow these laws and regulations. People such as the horrid serial killers that live among us
and some even living incarcerated in prisons all across the country. A serial killer is described as a
person who murders three or more people in a period of over a month, with cooling down time
between murders (Serial Killers Vs. Mass Murderers). One question being; were killers born with a
sense of killing, or did they learn how to become killers over time? Many speculations come from all
different kinds of people, but are serial killers born the way they are?
One side of this argument is that all serial killers are raised in such a manner that causes them to
commit murders. Donald Henry Gaskins is one serial killer that many believe committed his crimes
based on the way his family raised him. Gaskins mother Eulea Parrott otherwise known as Molly got
pregnant at the age of fourteen when she has sex with Mr. Gaskins, a wealthy, well known neighbor of
Molly, who loved to gamble and drink... he paid Molly $1 for sex several times a week (Donald Henry

Once they heard that the school uses a computerized enrollment system, it catches the attention of the
parents and they are willing to enroll their student in that school. Using a computer to manipulate the
school operations and transactions gives two main advantages: (1) the speed accuracy and reliability
of the transaction relatively increases; (2) the user (the person using the computer) can directly
communicate within the computer. The second advantage means the user is allowed to use the system
effectively, [Alter, 1991]. He / She can capture, transmit, store, retrieve, manipulate and display data

hair and the fine hands #8230; #8217; (Diamant 189). She was a mid eastern girl, but little else is said
of her appearance. Dinah #8217;s character is essential to the novel, as it is a chronicle of her life. She
is the heart and soul of the story. Through her the reader experiences one of the oldest stories of all
time, Genesis, through the eyes of someone who was painfully obscure for thousands of years. A
simple description of her own name best describes Dinah #8217;s character: Maybe you heard it in the
music of my name: the first vowel high and clear, as when a mother calls to her child at dusk; the
second sound soft, for whispering secrets on pillows (Diamant 1). Even so early in the novel, before
the actual story begins, Diamant establishes a maternal element in Dinah. Whispering secrets proves to
be an important element in Dinah #8217;s life, as the secrets of women are passed from mother to
daughter in a never ending cycle of life and love. In concordance with the importance placed on
mothers in The Red Tent, Dinah #8217;s most prominent mother figures, Leah and Rachel, are
instrumental to the plot. When the story begins (i.e. when Jacob arrives), the sisters are fourteen and
twelve. They are followed to their deaths, which, although unsaid, would be thought to be in

claim it is, in fact, legal for the states to openly practice recreational and medicinal usage of the drug.
Now with many people sick the only other option after numerous prescriptions that make the people

Marijuana first dated euphoric use dates back to 2737 BC. Its use spread from China to India, in the

and absent mindedness. In India, Muslims used it on a daily basis, the Muslims were the ones who

Having a tumultuous background, the Native American history in itself should be respected, but there
seems to be a nuisance doing so. In the 1830 s, after removal policy failed to prevail, not only did
individual Indians remain, but native communities also struggled over the next century and a half to
carve out a place for themselves in the South (Perdue 3). Native American s were challenged to find a
place in the idealistic society, but their ritualistic culture was not fit for the United States. Further on,
they dealt with poverty, discrimination, and violence against their community. The history of
discrimination against the Native American community has been very controversial. For over 129
years, discrimination has been widely noticed specifically in the sport community. From the racial slur
of redskins or the identification of the Native American like in the Cleveland Indians baseball team,
Chief Wahoo; the wide range of the identifications towards Native American causes an uproar in the
educated community. In Multicultural Training Intervention To Address American Indian Stereotypes,

The North And South During The Civil War
Throughout the 19th century, the distinctions between the North and South in the United States were
controversial. Prior to the Civil War, the North consisted of business owners and middle class men.
The South consisted of mostly farmers. The North was industrial, using railroads and factories. The
South was agricultural, with mostly farms and plantations. The North paid their labor workers. The
South used slaves. Not only did their opposing views on slavery and the separation of the two cultures,
tensions arose that eventually led to one of the most gruesome wars in history.
The North pushed for the abolition of slavery due to the immorality of it. Yet, some reports say
otherwise. In the article To Forget and Forgive: Reconstructing the Nation in The Post Civil War
Classrooms, Ginsburg states, Confederate authors explained Northern anti slavery sentiment in
economic terms once Northern businessmen found slavery unprofitable, they abolished it and turned
to slavery Fanaticism . These Southern authors believed that the North s anti slavery movement was a
ploy for economic prosperity. As a result, this tension led to the fallout of the Kansas Nebraska Act of
1854, when both northern slave territories were either free states or remained slave states by the
people. This was an opportunity for the government to leave the legislative branch of slavery with
poor sovereignty. The states decided on slavery in hopes that it would have ended slavery controversy
and avoid racism.

experienced a shift in attitude, and the tone of the piece at that point reflects the alteration. The reader
goes from feeling somewhat dejected to feeling much more cheerful and uplifted by the change in
word choice to phrases such as wonderful and ripe little goddess. As more time progresses in the

Rent Control Advantages
As a landlord or tenant, they should know what rent control is and the advantages and disadvantages
of it. Rent control is a government control of the amounts charged for rented housing
(Dictionary.com). It regulates the maximum rent price, how much rent can go up, and what options are
available to tenant who love in rental properties that need repairs (Apartment Ratings).
The goal of rent control is to make affordable housing available for lower income residents (Ink Niche
Insight + Analysis). Rent control limits the amount a landlord can freely increase rent. A landlord can
only raise rent once a year and the percentage of increase is not very high (Enlighten Me). This helps
the tenant ease having their rent go up more quickly than their income. Tenants are protected from
being evicted. The landlords of apartments and houses saw rent go up and the tenants stayed, so they
tried to find a way to evict the tenants in order to raise the rent for the next tenant. Now, cities with
rent control have regulations that require a long complicated process to evict a tenant. For a landlord,
rent control can be a better deal to their tenant, increasing them to be motivated to hold on to where
they are living. This can make a building full of tenants that will not cause much trouble and tenants
who always pay their rent on time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,...
Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity
between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first movement
of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622.
This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms used
in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as it was
understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be established,
and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto form in his
Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity.
The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major
sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for these
sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that these terms
can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes of the piece,
called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the tonic key, and
the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a modulatory
transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through several keys, but
it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already established

The Truman Doctrine: Contain the expansion of communism, presumably everywhere.
Summarize a situation that required U.S. diplomatic efforts during the president s time in office:
As World War 2 came to a close an Anti Democratic Iron Curtain had descended across Europe
according to the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Britain and most of the other countries in
Europe s forces were worn out, and their wealth all but depleted from the challenges of World War 2.
Because of this it was almost impossible to stop the spread of communism all throughout Europe. The
Truman Doctrine emerged from a speech given by President Truman before a joint session of congress
on March 12, 1947. The speech was given because of a recent announcement by ... Show more content

Before the Truman Doctrine there was the Monroe Doctrine that was created in 1823 by American
President James Monroe which was overturned by the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine was
instrumental in the creation of the Marshall Plan, which was a plan designed to contain communism
by lending economic aid to struggling European countries to help get them on their feet again. This
aid would help these countries fight communism. The Marshall Plan was ratified in 1948. In Truman s
speech he convinced congress that it was important to confront the soviets immediately, because if
they do not then more and more countries would fall to Communism like Dominoes. This later
became known as the Domino Theory which was introduced to Truman by his Under Secretary Dean
Acheson. The Domino Theory was later to inspire the American interventions in Korea and Vietnam.
He stated that if more countries succumb to communism it would make it easier for communism to
spread, and therefore more difficult to stop. The Truman Doctrine ended up leading to NATO, and
increased anti Communist hysteria. The speech also convinced the Soviet Union that the U.S. was a
threat to Soviet Communism which caused the Cold War to heat up even

Who Is Peter The Great Leader
One of Russia s Greatest Leaders: Peter the Great
The world is chaotic by nature. For this reason, both men and women alike have stepped forward to
lead their people. As such, these people have been gifted with valor and courage to take their countries
into ever lasting prosperity. An example of this kind of leader would be the grand emperor of Russia,
Peter the Great (1672 1725). Peter the Great is a man who put his country before himself. As a matter
of fact, Peter died saving one of his servants who fell overboard on one of his many expeditions. One
will have to wonder what kind of man had this much energy to revolutionize their countries. In
accordance, one will have to study the personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A bitter struggle soon advanced for the throne between the two families, the Miloslavskys and the
Naryshkins. The Naryshkins won. With the support by the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church,
a majority in the Boyar Duma (Russia s council of nobles), and a gathering of the gentry (untitled
landowners), the nine year old Peter was proclaimed tsar in April of 1682. Because of his youth, his
mother became regent, while her relatives and friends secured leading positions in the state. However,
as early as May, the Miloslavsky party, led by Alexis s able and strong willed daughter Sofia, Peter s
half sister, inspired a rebellion of the Streltsy, musketeers who made up Russia s top military corps.
The Streltsy in Moscow murdered top members of the Naryshkin group2. There, Peter witnessed these
murders and the Miloslavskys seized power. At the request of the Streltsy, the Boyar Duma declared
Ivan senior tsar and allowed Peter to be junior tsar. A little later, Sofiawas made regent with the
justification that the sickly and feeble minded Ivan was unable to rule. From 1682 to 1689 Sofiaand
her associates controlled Muscovy, while Peter I spent time with the Naryshkin party in the village of
Preobrazhenskoye.
A final confrontation between the Miloslavsky and Naryshkin happened in August 1689. Peter group
was so strong that Sofia surrendered to her brother. The

Application Developer vs Software Developer
Application developers versus Smart Phone developers
In this new mobile platform world, app developers are the new kingmakers. Not a day goes by when
someone doesn t introduce their own app store. As the world of mobile apps continues to gain
importance in our lives, the space will continue to be ruled by app devlopers .In many ways, it s a
good way of moneymaking opportunities for independent app developers as well as big companies.
Software developers make effective software. It is an engineering endeavor that cannot be extracted
from the context and systems with which it interoperates. The heart of a good software solution is not
in turning the functional specification into code but rather in the use of available resources such as ...

Keep An Open Mind: For continuous improvement of a group/division of a company, the leader of an
organization must be open to new ideas. Ask for opinions and feedback from both customers and team
members and your group/company will continue to grow.
Meet Obligations: Regardless of the circumstances, do everything in your power to gain the trust of
past customers and clients, particularly if something has gone awry. Reclaim any lost business by
honoring all commitments and obligations.
Establish action development teams: Action development implements the organization s strategy while
developing leadership culture and talent. Teams of senior and high potential leaders tackle mission
critical, complex challenges identified by the business strategy. They learn to work across boundaries,
with explicit sponsorship and coaching, while developing new and better ways of working together.
Become Community Involved: Remain involved in community related issues and activities, thereby
demonstrating that your business is a responsible community contributor. In other words, stay
involved.
3. How power can gain and lost?
As everyone knows Apple lost the PC wars to Microsoft, and only nominally understands that when
Apple created the iPod and then the iPhone, the company started to go in a new direction. How does
Apple get ahead of other competitors? It s their creativity that helped them to stay at least two years
ahead of their competitors. Also,

Biodiversity In The Arctic Region
The Effect of Global Warming on Biodiversity in the Arctic Region As the impact of global warming
on the environment exponentially expands, issues such as increasing air and water temperatures, rising
water levels in coastal regions, growing severity of storms, polar ice melting, increased acidity in
oceans, and altered environments and habitats also worsen at an alarming rate (Denshak). These are
not unknown concepts, but what is less known is the effect that global warming has on the Arctic
region and its biodiversity. This specific issue primarily deals with climate change in the scheme of
melting polar ice shelves, rising temperatures, and increased acidity of the world s oceans. Since the
Arctic region has a very different, more fragile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The animal populations are main source of nutrition for the human communities living in the region,
but harvesting has been regulated and managed to prevent depletion of the natural stores of fish,
crustaceans, and mammals in the Arctic waters (Arctic Biodiversity Assessment). Because the health
of the Arctic had an impact on all of Earth, it is important that we work towards preventing, or at least
delaying the effects of climate change on the region. Many corporations, governments, and
international organizations have already worked to reverse the issue that the Arctic faces with concern
to its biodiversity. For example, in the past year, the Coca Cola Journey foundation has raised over
Two million dollars with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to help manage the Arctic ice shelves and
preserve the habitats home to polar bears and many other organisms. Their goal is to reverse the path
of extinction that polar bears are currently on, citing the U.S. Geographical Survey that state that two
thirds of polar bears are predicted to disappear in just thirty four years. Additionally, you can see the
international concern for Arctic biodiversity through Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs)
that aim to conserve individual species, protect migration routes and habitats, protect ecosystems, and

Flappers In The Great Gatsby
With different ideas and points of view, an era of change was on his way. Ideally, flappers would have
had their way with the world, and ridiculed the world or the elders. If the rebels got let loose, the
world as we know it would not exist. Although the Flappers weren t allowed to complete everything
they wanted, they still made many changes to the society they were living in. Mental strength was
what allowed them to make these changes, successfully, even though they suffered from cruel
criticism of the outside world. By reinventing the society that they lived in, these girls made an
environment suitable for their laid back, rebellious, and ever evolving nature.

With the boom of the fashion industry, the economy flourished, and women were given the
opportunity to read magazines like Vogue and The Queen . With the desire for more goods, and an
independent lifestyle, women began back in the workforce after being pushed out by the male
dominant society that they were suffering through. These women were more developed mentally and
physically because they had been pressured and pushed harder to think in unestablished ways(Page, A
Flapper s appeal to Parents ). This made these women stronger and more willing to fight for what they
want. The physical increase in rate of development can only be linked to science because the age of
maturity continually decreases. Mentally, because there was no war stress, and more affordable
schooling, including better teachers and updated information, the brains of these young women
became a sponge advertised by Ellen Welles Page. The number of bachelors and masters degrees
dropped significantly due to an excess lifestyle. With a strong mind these women chose what
messages they wanted to send to the world (Coronel, Our Changing Sexual Code ). The desire to be
thin helped gain more attention from the male population, but this was not the ideal reason. Heavy
women were seen as someone who needed support.

In 1984, there was nearly 300 local producers in China market, most of which were producing poor quality goods. However, customers were willing to pay more for higher quality products and reliable service. This need created an advantage for differentiation. In Chinese market, demand was high. Haier being able to read customer need properly, focused on Product Quality, After Sale Services and Brand Building. • 3. Reflection About Apathy Students line the patterned red seats in the high school auditorium. While the speaker on stage bellows his gospel of forgiveness, some students halfheartedly nod along, some stare at their shoes, and some snore. Looking around the chapel from my seat in the back row, I am overwhelmed with one impression: apathy. This mood that hung in the room was pervasive, making me feel uncomfortable because I realized that I felt it too. While I usually enjoy learning for its own sake, apathy has not escaped me. Not only does this mindset manifest in my school s chapel services, but also in the classroom. When students do not care about learning, they either put in the least amount of effort possible or resort to rote memorization to maintain their grade. Instead of understanding the material, they glean little knowledge that they can apply to their lives, making education relatively pointless. This thoughtlessness maddens me because I want to be purposeful in everything that I do. During my junior year of high school, apathetic students and teachers led me to rediscover the power I have over my own education. In my physics class, I was miserable: I did not learn I memorized. Although my teacher had good intentions and a passion for the subject, he taught us terms and formulas, skirting around fundamentals such as how these concepts connected to each other. Work equals the applied force times change in time times cosine of the angle. As I sat in my front row seat and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One day at boxing practice, Billy sees the ballet practice going on and decides to join in. Little did he know he would enjoy it as much as he did. Although Billy enjoyed it so much, it was not easily accepted by his family and they made that show clearly understood. Throughout the film this is the storyline that is really defining the separation between sex and gender. I believe the author, Stephen Daldry, uses the separation between sex and gender to show what the gender norms are and how they are looked down upon in some places if not followed correctly. According to Wolff (1958), the introduction of small arms with rapid fire capabilities and artillery lead to armies digging miles and miles of trenches with fronted with barbed wire to adapt. Trench warfare changed the nature in which the war could be fought because this defensive position, that often limited movement, was utilized throughout the French and German borders. Trenches hindered any flanking movement and limited armies from fighting opposing armies how they were used to. Therefore, instead of making any bold flanking movements, soldiers had to utilize trenches to make frontal attacks. During such movements, soldiers were often killed in mass numbers because there was no cover or concealment from the friendly trench to the opposing army s trench. Often soldiers were victim to machine gun fire or artillery. With this change in warfare, adaptation was necessary. (Wolff, 1958) It was obvious that previous war tactics were now obsolete with the increased use of the machine gun. In order to bypass the dangers of conducting a frontal attack of the enemy against the threat of machine guns, new weapons were created and tested. Colonel Ernest Swinton of the British army laid down critical specifications that had to be part of the end product. This creation was a tracked vehicle that was large and trapezoid shaped. John Hersey was an American journalist and novelist who was well known for his documentary works about the calamitous events of WWII. In his book, Hiroshima, the stories of six victims of the attack are shared following the drop of the American atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. His historical masterpiece is one of the most important works of the twentieth century. At the time the book was published, Americans had little insight on the details of the attack on the Japanese city. Because their personal accounts are overwhelming and in the mists of chaos, Hersey adds in additional factual details to supplement the characters confusion of events and help the reader see the devastation beyond the characters viewpoint. More specifically, Hersey includes information about the abnormal water droplets after the bombing. On page 18 of Chapter 2 The Fire, Hersey illustrates that Mr. Tanimoto recalled when huge drops of water the size of marbles began to fall, he half thought that they must be coming from the hoses of firemen fighting the blaze. Hersey then explains that what Mr. Tanimoto thought was coming from the firemen s hoses, were in fact drops of condensed moisture failing from the turbulent tower of dust, heat, and fission fragments that had already risen miles into the sky above Hiroshima, (18). • 15. Comparing A Dollhouse And Long Days House And A Doll s Night Whether it s wife vs husband, parent vs child, or brother vs brother, people s wills inevitably oppose each other. Besides their play format, A Doll s House and Long Day s Journey Into Night share the similar conflict of man versus man, mostly within a family. The Helmers marriage is traditional for the late 19th century; Torvald works at a bank and manages the family s finances while Nora cares for the house affairs and plays with her young children. In O Neill s novel, the Tyrones cheerfully eat breakfast together but as the day progresses, the unified family crumbles at the hands of substance abuse and difficult memories. By interacting with other characters, Nora and the Tyrones are forced to accept the truth about their place in the houses hierarchies. Chirpy Nora Helmer of A Doll s House begins the story coaxing her husband Torvald to gift her money for Christmas, hinting to the audience that she has a questionable fascination with money (Ibsen 3). Similarly, she raises suspicion about the sincerity of their happy marriage when she lies about snacking on macaroons, something so insignificant that it would be pointless to lie unless she did not trust him (Ibsen 4). Later in Act I, an old friend Mrs. Christine Linde visits, shares her troubles, and calls Nora naive because she has a seemingly perfect life with her husband, children, and tasteful home, to which Nora counters with the secret responsibility she has had to bear (Ibsen 10). Years ago Nora forged her dying father s signature to illicitly borrow funds for her husband to recover from illness in warm Italy. To repay the burdensome debt to Krogstad who harasses and blackmails her, Nora privately accumulates money through manual work and her allowances from Torvald, who would find it painful and humiliating...with his manly independence, to know that he owed [Nora] anything (Ibsen 12). At the threat of snitching, Krogstad blackmails Nora to keep his job safe from her husband, the bank manager. A sacrifice is a way to show that you care about someone or something, and that you want to help them. • 37. Rent Control Advantages As a landlord or tenant, they should know what rent control is and the advantages and disadvantages of it. Rent control is a government control of the amounts charged for rented housing (Dictionary.com). It regulates the maximum rent price, how much rent can go up, and what options are available to tenant who love in rental properties that need repairs (Apartment Ratings). The goal of rent control is to make affordable housing available for lower income residents (Ink Niche Insight + Analysis). Rent control limits the amount a landlord can freely increase rent. A landlord can only raise rent once a year and the percentage of increase is not very high (Enlighten Me). This helps the tenant ease having their rent go up more quickly than their income. Tenants are protected from being evicted. The landlords of apartments and houses saw rent go up and the tenants stayed, so they tried to find a way to evict the tenants in order to raise the rent for the next tenant. Now, cities with rent control have regulations that require a long complicated process to evict a tenant. For a landlord, rent control can be a better deal to their tenant, increasing them to be motivated to hold on to where they are living. This can make a building full of tenants that will not cause much trouble and tenants who always pay their rent on time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 38. Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,... Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first movement of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622. This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms used in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as it was understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be established, and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto form in his Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity. The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for these sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that these terms can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes of the piece, called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the tonic key, and the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a modulatory transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through several keys, but it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already established ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before the Truman Doctrine there was the Monroe Doctrine that was created in 1823 by American President James Monroe which was overturned by the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine was instrumental in the creation of the Marshall Plan, which was a plan designed to contain communism by lending economic aid to struggling European countries to help get them on their feet again. This aid would help these countries fight communism. The Marshall Plan was ratified in 1948. In Truman s speech he convinced congress that it was important to confront the soviets immediately, because if they do not then more and more countries would fall to Communism like Dominoes. This later became known as the Domino Theory which was introduced to Truman by his Under Secretary Dean Acheson. The Domino Theory was later to inspire the American interventions in Korea and Vietnam. He stated that if more countries succumb to communism it would make it easier for communism to spread, and therefore more difficult to stop. The Truman Doctrine ended up leading to NATO, and increased anti Communist hysteria. The speech also convinced the Soviet Union that the U.S. was a threat to Soviet Communism which caused the Cold War to heat up even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These women were more developed mentally and physically because they had been pressured and pushed harder to think in unestablished ways(Page, A Flapper s appeal to Parents ). This made these women stronger and more willing to fight for what they want. The physical increase in rate of development can only be linked to science because the age of maturity continually decreases. Mentally, because there was no war stress, and more affordable schooling, including better teachers and updated information, the brains of these young women became a sponge advertised by Ellen Welles Page.
