Why Was World War 1 A Turning Point In History
World war one occurred during 1914 to 1918 and was a major turning point in history. Thirty two
countries were involved in world war one. After the war ended many soldiers were given the title of
being a war hero for their courageous actions during the war. However all the mothers, wives and
children that were left in Australia were left with the major responsibility of taking on paid
employment and household work and they deserve equal recognition. Whilst young Australian men
were fighting in the war, the Australian economy, workforce and female roles were changing but the
Australian spirit and reputation was only growing through the support given to sliders from their home
front.
The term home front is used to describe a country that is at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Australian society worked in way that prevented women from working as they were expected to
stay home look after their children and do all the domestic work. Women that where not married
before the war where unlikely to find a partner as sixty thousand men were killed and one hundred and
fifty thousand men where injured (Skwirk online education, 2016). During this time women were
expected to marry young and have children. Consequently this meant that when the war started
thousands of men were forced to abandon their jobs and fight for Australia so there were many
vacancies that need to be filled and there were also many women that were looking after their children
and had no income. The government started to employing women through campaigns and recruiting
drives (Australian Government, 2015). Women worked in areas that where originally considered jobs
for men, some of these occupations include: railway guards, ticket collectors and some led horses or
other animals on farms. Women were working the same jobs as men but earn less than fifty percent of
a man s wage (University of Lincoln, n.d). Slowly the Australian society was changing their views on

Panda Bear Or Giant Panda
Pandas
The panda bear or giant panda is located in the south central area of China. It is recognized for its
appearance. It belongs to the Carnivore group even though it eats 99% bamboo. Pandas found in the
wild will eat other grasses, wild tubers, or meat in the form of birds, rodents, or carrion. Pandas in
captivity receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, bananas, or other specially prepared
foods. Pandas live in mountain ranges because deforestation has driven them from lowland areas. The
panda is an endangered species. According to a 2007 report, there are 239 pandas living in captivity in
China, 27 pandas living outside the country, and 1,590 pandas living in the wild. The panda bear is a
great symbol in China. This animal is noticed because it is on the endangered species list.
The red panda, though it shares the name of panda, is not a bear. It is more closely related to a raccoon
or skunk and is an endangered species. This panda is called the red panda, lesser panda, or red cat
bear. This animal is not closely related to the giant panda or panda bear. This is an animal that is
adorable and cuddly looking but it also is so much larger than it appears.
Cultural Symbolism:
The panda bear is not only a fluffy creature it is also symbolic to China. The panda can symbolize
friendship and peace. The colors on the panda help resemble the Yin Yang by showing how the two
colors can mix and with the pandas nature it backs this up. The panda is really peaceful

Iran, Iran And Concessions, Mid 19th Century And 20th Century
Spring 15
Iran and Concessions, mid 19th to early 20th Century, the Catalysts of Change Throughout the 19th
and 20th century Iran saw not only the changing of three regimes, but also the coming, and going of
classical imperialists in Britain and Russia, but also late comers to the game in the United States. In
each instance however, Iran was on a road to appeasement. In some instances such as with the Qajar s,
Iran s Imperial family was trying to get more money for the betterment of itself. In the event of the
Pahlavi s, Iran was trying to modernize based off of a western model of success. In both instances the
carving out of resources was involved in which Iran stood to lose the most by giving up very lucrative

Britain during this time had fought with Iran and beat them in some battles. Iran during this time also
suffered defeats by the Russians which culminated with the Shah of the Qajar dynasty, Naser Al Din
Shah ruling the middle of Iran while the Russians ruled the north and the British ruled the south. The
Qajar dynasty was in dire straits as a result and it did not help that the Shah was spending his country
into a more precarious position than he was already in. By the late 19th century the Shah due to his
opulent life style began to issue concessions to each power ruling its upper and lower regions for a fee.
A concession is an amicable agreement to give a certain right such as the ability to improve
infrastructure in order that the concession holder have a monopoly over this enterprise in its given
area. An example would be both Russia and Britain wanting to have concessions of the railroads in
their given sectors, this did not happen. However what the Shah was doing during this time was more
than lining his pockets with gold. He was giving away control of his country to the western powers

Pestel Analysis Of Macdonald s Fast Food Chain
Part 1 I decided to carry out a PEST/STEEPL analysis on MacDonald s, the fast food chain. Although
in their own Mission and Value statement they describe themselves as a franchise business. The STEP
analysis proved to be relatively easy, in some was it is similar to SWOT, in that once a start has been
made it is difficult to stop. I used a copy of their 2011 Annual Report as the basis for the analysis, this
did make things difficult in term of economic factors as the report was mainly financial information
and based towards shareholders use. The best I could come up with was exchange rate fluctuations
which affect the business being the global enterprise it is, also income affecting customers. Too little

The Internal Analysis will be largely based around the links among resources, capabilities and
competitive advantage as outlined by Robert Grant in 2008. Internally Sunderland has several
resources, ranging from tangible, (finance and physical resources for example the Stadium of Light
and Academy of Light) to the human resources, (Players, Management, and Administrative Staff).
Tangible Resources 1. Physical Buildings owned by the club. The most obvious being the Stadium of
Light and the Club s training ground, The Academy of Light. These, particularly the Stadium are
being developed by use for other events and Conference venues and open up other revenue streams. 2.
Financial money coming into the Club, via player sales, sales of match tickets and programmes, club
merchandise, subscriptions to SAFC TV (the club s own on line TV) and from use of the Stadium as a
Conference Venue and for staging Rock Concerts. Intangible Resources Resources which the Club has
but cannot be touched, these include: 1. History Under the management of Roy Keane, photographs of
the Club s various League and Cup triumphs and of Famous former players were placed on the walls
of the Player s Tunnel 2. Reputation The Club built its reputation in the early years of British football,
the 1870s through to the 1950s. While it is still considered by some to be one of the country s leading
clubs, success, apart from in 1973 has been limited. 3. Culture Two CDs

The Impact Of Community Service On The Community
Community service is simply defined as non paid work done by an individual, group, or organization
that benefits the community. While community service is commonly interchanged with volunteerism,
these two terms should not be interchanged with each other since the former could be a mandatory
task or requirement in certain situations. These situations include requirements for being granted
citizenship to a country, class projects or requirements, and it can also serve as a corrective sanction
for criminal charges.
Before we discuss the value of community service and its impacts on the individual, let us first look
into the relationship of the individual and to the society. With man being a social being, one can never
separate himself not only from his immediate community but to the larger society as well. Since time
immemorial, man has relied on the various mechanisms of community in order to address his needs
for survival. We can observe man s reliance on the community even dating back to the prehistoric era.
During this time, the primitive communal mode of production was dominant among communities,
where everyone had a part to play in feeding and taking care of the community members. But this was
not only the duties of the community members. While survival was the primary interest during the
primitive communal stage of society, by staying and living within a community, mean learned to
develop values, culture, and of course a set of rules to govern the community and maintain

Growth Mindset Research Paper
Brainology
Fixed mindset, growth mindset, praise effort and praise for intelligence with impact and my
experience about them with specific examples
Mindsets are beliefs which people hold on their most basic abilities and qualities. In the growth
mindset, individuals believe that they can develop their talents, brain, and skills. This creates an
environment for learning, resilience and a drive for growth. On the other hand, people believe in a
fixed mindset that primary qualities like abilities and intelligence are fixed and cannot be developed. It
also believes that talents create success alone, and it does not take effort as the strategy needed to
maximize one s potential rather than a sign of weakness. For example, transforming motivation ...

Teaching individuals to develop growth mindset will encourage the process and not on talent or
intelligence. Teachers and parents can make children develop growth mindset by praising their
strategies and persistence, by giving them stories that emphasize on effort and the Importance of
learning, and teaching the students that a brain is a learning tool or machine (Gupta, et al., 2012). The
society is currently worshipping talent and individuals assume that having the ability or superior
intelligence with confidence is one way of succeeding. Overemphasis on talent or intelligence leaves
students prone to failure, afraid of challenges and they are not ready to accept their shortcomings
(Taylor, et al., 2014). Praising innate abilities of children, reinforce fixed mindset, which can prevent
people in workforces or young athletics and even the married people to live up to their potential. By
teaching students to have the growth mindset encourages them to use their personal effort and come
up with effective strategies and not talent or intelligence which will help them to achieve highly in life
and even in school. As theories suggest, students who have growth mindset believes that learning is
the crucial goal than performing well in school with good grades. Hard work is highly regarded,
believing that if you labor on something, it will lead to perfection. Even the geniuses have to put

Jfk Inaugural Address Speech Analysis
On a day that was filled with sparkling cold snow January 20th, 1961 In Washington D.C President
John F. Kennedy delvers his will know inaugural address speech, to the citizens of both the world and
America at the end of a close and fierce ballot Kennedy persuaded, captivated the people and he was
very successful. Using Pathos, Logos, Ethos and some subtle techniques he effectively converted
millions of people in the USA .by touching their hearts and motivating their minds.
JFK heavily uses pathos, repetition, and changing sentence structures to deliver an effective speech.
John F. Kennedy touches many American hearts in his speech. In the second paragraph he says he has
sworn before you and Almighty God (p1). The mentioning of God so early in his speech sets the tone
for the rest of his speech. He ends the speech by mentioning God again, Gods work most truly be our
own (p3). Showing America that he is a deeply religious man. Throughout his speech JFK uses
thought provoking words such as freedom, success, and liberty, words that have become synonymous
with the American dream. The constant uses of these words invoke a feeling of patriotism in most
Americans.
JFK uses repetition to demonstrate his points throughout his speech. He constantly reminds the
American people that they are a united and strong country that can make it through anything. He also
mentions that America can solve problems with their enemies using diplomacy several times. He
begins four paragraphs in a row with the same words, Let both sides , to illustrate that he is willing to
work things out with countries America is having problems with. The use of repetition helps Kennedy
to convey his message to his audience. Long, powerful sentences occasionally to keep the formality of
the speech and to convey important messages to his audience. The interchanging between the simple,
short sentences and the long, eloquent sentences keeps the audience listening and wondering what he
is going to say next. John F. Kennedy effective uses rhetorical devices to successfully convey his
ambitions and hopes for America. His use of pathos, repetition, and variation of sentences helps him to
achieve this goal. John F. Kennedy s speech was very memorable

Canada Monetary Policy Essay
Monetary policy in Canada has two main characteristics:
Monetary policy is conducted by the Bank of Canada, a government owned Crown corporation that
operates with considerable independence from the federal government but is nonetheless ultimately
accountable to Parliament.
Financial capital can move easily within Canada, leading to same interest rates on similar assets
across all Canadian regions. As a result, there is only one monetary policy for all of Canada.
The Bank of Canada is the sole issuer of liquidity in Canada.
The Bank of Canada has no ability to set spending or taxation priorities for any level of government in
Canada. Nor does it have the ability to directly regulate labor markets or product markets, although it

period 2007 to 2014, and as it can be seen from the graph, the policies implemented in the United
States resulted in lower unemployment and GDP growth, paired with the willingness to increase

2010 reverted the situation, creating higher unemployment and GDP stagnation. The trigger of the
austerity measures was the Greek crisis, which brought to light that the EU member states are more
concerned with national issues than EU integration during times of crisis (Frangakis 2010) and
showed the fragilities of the Eurozone. The lack of coordination among member states on scal
policy was remarkable, and the imbalances and divergences were wrongly addressed more as

Space Exploration Persuasive Essay
The concept of space exploration was first introduced to the American public in 1961 when President
John F. Kennedy famously stood before congress and vowed that America would put a man on the
moon within the decade. With hopes of defeating the Soviet Union in the Space Race and gaining a
leg up in the Cold War, NASA funding reached its all time high in 1965 1966 when about four percent
of the federal budget was devoted to exploring space. Since then however, funding dedicated to
exploring space has nose dived to about one half of a percent of the federal budget (Tyson), with plans
to cut that figure by an additional $260 million in 2017 (cite NASA funding cuts). Experts in the space
sciences field argue that increased funding in space exploration would re ignite the American economy
and return America to the scientific prominence it was once known for, while, on the other end of the
spectrum, naysayers suggest that exploring space is an economic sink hole that the United States can
no longer afford to deposit to given its own earth bound troubles. The biggest affect increased space
exploration would have could be its change on the education landscape. In 1998, NASA scientists
Adriana Ocampo, Louis Friedman, and John Logsdon explored NASA s effect on education in their
article, Why Space Science and Exploration Benefit Everyone. Though their writing is nearly 20 years
old, Ocampo, Friedman, and Logsdon explain why handcuffing NASA creates a brain drain in

Myasthenia Gravis Essay
What is Myasthenia gravis ?
Myasthenia gravis is considered as one of the most important common neuromuscular disorders.
Although it is categorized as a neuromuscular disease , there are few other factors other than acquired
immunological abnormality , like genetic abnormality in neuromuscular junction , and some relations
to thymus diseases and cancers.
Myasthenia gravis presents clinically in a variety of ways, with varied symptoms that make it difficult
to diagnose it in initial stages.
As MG became the subject of interest to neurologists mostly in the past years , however it is still
categorized as an autoimmune disease , and much about pathophysiology and immunopathology of
MG has been learned in the past 20 years.
The origin of the autoimmune dysfunction in MG patients is unknown, but thymic abnormalities,
defects in immune regulation and sex hormones play major roles in patients with anti AChR
antibodies. Genetic predisposition is also likely to influence the occurrence of the disease as
mentioned above.
Pathogenesis And Factors :
Autoimmune factors :
As mentioned previously , MG is mostly considered as an acquired autoimmune disease of the
neuromuscular junction. The autoimmune system mostly attacks the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors
located in the postsynaptic endplate membrane.
In MG, the postsynaptic muscle membrane is distorted and simplified, having lost its normal folded
shape, the concentration of acetylcholine receptors on the muscle

Looking For Books For Business Classes
I went to the school store to buy books and I approached one of the student sellers and asked for help.
She first asked me how she could help me. I then told her I was looking for books for business classes,
so she directed me to the business section of the store. She then asked me what the CRN was. I told
her the CRN and she found the book. She then asked if I was buying the book today, but I could not
buy the book because it was more expensive than I thought. I told her not today because of that
reason. She then gave me the alternate option, which was to buy the book online for a cheaper price.
So I listened to her advice and brought the book online. This to me was a great interaction because she
didn t let me leave without knowing all my options, she answer all of my questions, and helped me
right away when I approached her. She used most of the selling sequence.
Today I went to Walmart to buy a laptop fan because I notice my laptop overheated a lot. I went to the

Meno Skeptics
The skeptic is unable to investigate or form any sort of conception of their dogmatic views.(III 31)
The above conclusion stems from two premises presented by the dogmatists in their argument against
the skeptics ability to inquire. Firstly, if the skpetic grasps what the dogmatist says, he cannot be in
doubt about what he has grasped. And secondly, if the skeptic doesn t grasp what the dogmatist says,
he will not even be able to talk about what he has grasped. The dogmatist claim we are considering is
a reformulation of meno s paradox because the premises and the conclusion are similar to that of the
paradox. Consequently, we will be examining the above claim by the dogmatists and the response by
Sextus Empiricus to the dogmatist claims in the frame of meno s paradox. The dogmatists emphasize
the importance of prior knowledge as a requirement for inquiry. To the dogmatists, inquiry was a

Continued inquiry implies that the process of inquiry seemingly never comes to an end. Furthermore,
continued inquiry is fundamentally based on opposing appearances and ideas, instead of prior
knowledge as in the case of the dogmatists. Sextus argues that it is the setting in opposition of these
appearances and ideas of equal force that forms the process of skeptic inquiry. Consequently leading
to a suspension of judgement. The suspension of judgement means that the skeptic neither denies nor
affirms an idea when it comes to inquiry. Such a stance leads to a calmness of the soul or freedom
from disturbance. There is a disturbance that arises from seeking what is true or false according to the
skeptics. For the skeptics it was easier to go for a consideration pushed equally in both directions.(III

Irish songs not only reflect Irish history, but take record of it. Whether it is a rough new beginning or a
gruesome battle being recorded, care is always given to portray the emotions of the event. Though the
music varies in instrumentation and complexity, the purpose is always served. For example, the song
titled The Digger s Song or The World Turned Upside tells the story of the English civil war. A group
of sharecroppers was trying to reclaim the land and use it as a common land to feed and house all, not
believing that land could be considered property. This plan was destroyed by the self involved royalty
and landowners. The people continued to rebel and eventually their homes and crops for their families

with the appropriate palettes, they illustrate this cosmic adventure that starts with the characterization
of their Spaceship 9 . There s an imminent sense of danger brought by an insistent chord, an

has changed economic revolution. Sugar was a high in demand, and dominating industry for many
reasons. It was a natural preservative that was edible, it was often used for decorative purposes and it

Relationship between Mechanical Reproduction, Art and Culture
Marxist criticism concerns itself with class differences and the modes of production that produce
oppression. Class conflict will be reflected in different forms of art because the marxist school
believes that everything in a society is based on the current modes of production. A change to the
mode of production will bring change to politics, law, philosophy, religion, and art. Max Horkheimer,
Theodor W. Adorno and Walter Benjamin are three of the most notable critics of Marxism. They write
about the production of cultural subject in capitalist societies, agreeing that reproduction of art has
drastically changed due to mechanization. Horkheimer and Adorno s The Culture Industry:

Art will be made for the purpose of reproduction to reach the highest audience. The aura of an object
will no longer matter because it will not be part of the class consciousness. As Benjamin brings up the
debate of the cult value versus the exhibition value, the value of art will change so that it s only
function will be based on how many times it can be reproduced. Horkheimer and Adorno describe the
culture industry as, millions participate in it, certain reproduction processes are necessary that
inevitably require identical needs in innumerable places to be satisfied with identical goods (1256).
Benjamin argues that as soon as the authenticity is lost, art s function is transformed. Horkheimer and
Adorno describe a new function of art, to produce for mass consumption. Those in control of the
modes of production want to replace the ritual value with a exhibition value to increase profit. Thus
creating a bigger divide between the working class and the upper class. Art is being given a new value
under capitalism. Benjamin suggests that what is being created within the society is correlated to that
value that society puts on art. The quality of art being produced will shift from the cult value and the
exhibition value. As Horkheimer and Adorno describe as art being created for almost instantaneous
disposal, the culture doesn t allow art to be held on to but rather be discarded for the new. Mechanical

Okay? Okay. I was um, wondering; if you would like to....like to...um...go to the next game.
Kirsten begin to stare at him, Tommy was socially awkward so for him to ask her out like this, was out
of the ordinary. She kept staring at him and noticed that Tommy was getting a little anxious. She
slowly began smiling, still looking at Tommy.
Kirsten
I ll go, but only if we hang out afterwards.
Kirsten is still smiling and notices Tommy s mood change from anxious to smile and they both make
eye contact and smile again.
Tommy
Deal. I ll meet you in the stands after the game, but you have to come and watch. You re my lucky
charm.
Tommy gave her a smile and walked away. Kirsten stayed, still flabbergasted that Tommy had finally
asked her out. A couple seconds later she realized she needed to plan her outfit and started to internally
freak out.
While Kirsten got ready, Tommy went to his grandma s house to get set for the game.
Grandma
Good luck, buttercup. Do you have any plans to go out, a night in the town? Do you need the car? Do
you need money?
Tommy

The Impact Of Urban Population And The Current Causes...
The last century has been characterized by the rapid growth of the urban areas which is likely to be
one of the milestones in the current ages. Also known as the urbanization, this process, is defined by
the unprecedented rural population shift to the cities which stems from the Modern period as a result
of the Industrial Revolution. However, nowadays, the key aspect is the universal nature of such, issue t
has an effect on an exceptional transformation on a global scale causing a drastic impact on the social,
economic, cultural and political patterns. It is a widely held the opinion that one of the main
challenges of this century is to clarify the origin and identify which are the sociodemographic factor
that negatively impact on the urban population and the current causes social segregation. Regarding
the recent academic research in human geography field, can be possible to associate this social
segregation with the gentrification . Thus, the gentrification can be defined as the dynamic process
that displaces the local and low income population of the district due to the urban revitalization of the
area. Exploration of the social segregation in the Australian context (Melbourne and Sydney), might
be the main purpose of this research. The analysis of the gentrification process is studied in order to
find out what are the negative impacts on the population. Therefore, the research question might focus
on the issue of the social transformation. Thus, the findings can

It is important and essential to treat different people as individuals and to try and meet their needs
rather than stereotyping people. E.g. all old people are the same. Treating everyone the same is failing
to respect diversity. We all want to be treated with dignity and it is a very important part of an
individual s life. Working in the health and social care profession it is important to help people
maintain their dignity so they can keep their sense of self respect and self worth. All health and social
care professionals should be sensitive and aware of the needs of people and service users. Just because
a person has dementia, they still need to be given a choice and not assume that they cannot make a
choice. Not everybody is the same, there are different levels of dementia, so getting to know the
service user is vital to challenge discrimination. We also need to make sure that the service user or
their families are aware of the complaints procedure. Having policies and procedures are put in place

When organizations actively evaluate their handling of workplace diversity issues, develop and
implement diversity plans, several benefits are reported. For example, increased adaptability, variety
of viewpoints, and a diverse collection of skills and experiences that allows a company to provide
service to customers on a global basis. For this reason, organizations need diversity to become more
proactive and welcomed within an organization and its employees.
Managers must learn the managerial skills needed in a multicultural work environment. Managers
must be prepared to teach themselves and others within their organizations to value multicultural
differences in both employees and customers so that everyone is treated with respect. The
organizations that manage diversity well will come out ahead in the competitive environment. Based
on these key ideas and concepts, these will be the factors used to determine the level of diversity that
Starbucks has reached as a company and how that plays into the everyday operations of each store.
Steve Ogo has been with Starbucks for fourteen years originally from Portland Oregon. He migrated
from Portland to Chicago a few years back and has been one of the district managers for Chicago ever
since. Mr. Ogo has been a part of the organization for over a decade and has been a part of many
changes including changes in diversity. Unlike Chicago, Portland has a very different population

Artificial Intelligence Dangers
What are the dangers and possible benefits of Artificial Intelligence? Throughout the course of history,
technological advances have proven to not only influence, but significantly impact one s quality of
life. Within society, there are those who strongly believe that these advancements have saved lives and
benefitted future generations, while others argue against it, firmly articulating that the progression of
technology will prove to work against the overall betterment of humanity. Despite this, one cannot
deny society s obsession and thirst for the next big technological advancement. Human s, never
content with what they have, are extremely vulnerable and susceptible to consumeristic tendencies.
Regardless of what is actually attainable, we always focus on the technology of the future. Perhaps the
definition of futuristic advancement can be best understood as Artificial Intelligence? Surprisingly the
days of Artificial Intelligence are approaching; however, with this revelation come challenging
questions. What can be gained through Artificial Intelligence how will humanity be impacted by this
technology? Are there potential dangers associated with it? Will Artificial Intelligence be a universal

Descriptive Essay On Beauty
I had to decorate my head with flowers and was looking exquisite. My father had prohibited me from
using scented perfumes. I also did not have slightest of interest in that. I have been brought up in
nature. Where does beauty live? Is it in jewelry or clothes, in the body, in soul or in the eye of the
beholder? I was wondering.
Four chariots named Rug, Yarju, Sam and Atharva were constructed. The great father Brahma sat on
Rug. Twayi and Anwikshika were sitting in Yarju. Varta and Niti were in Atharva. Yarju was decorated
with beautiful flowers. A drape of flowers covered the front of the chariot. The fourth chariot Atharva
was appearing like a bouquet of red flowers.
I sat in the chariot Sam, which was decorated with vines and fragrant flowers. In front of me, a
garland of white jasmine was hanging. I was bathing with the fragrance of the flowers. My whole
body, my mind, and my soul were all filled with fragrance.
No one could see me from outside the chariot. But, I could see through the vines and thorns. I did not
know the logic behind bringing me to heaven like a prisoner. I was sitting with suppressed curiosity,
but was enjoying the scenery of the Indraloka.
Even though heaven s beauty amazed me, my mind was thinking about my motherland, the earth. My
playground, the elegant forest on the foothills of the Himalayas was no way less beautiful. I could
never accept that my unique mother land is less prosperous than the kingdom of Indraloka. After
attending godhood, it was natural to become a lover of luxury. Hence, the kingdom of gods was so
much a show off. If my motherland was a selfless hermit, the heaven was a hedonist beauty. If the
Indraloka was so attractive, then how attractive Indra would be?
After the discussion, I was supposed to come out of the chariot as if for a display. That time I could
see without any hindrance and Indradeva could also see me.
I remembered my first encounter with Indra. He was visiting my father in the ashram. His chariot was
in the garden and I sat in it pretending to navigate it. As soon as I saw him returning to the chariot, I
got scared. I slipped and fell while descending from the chariot and twisted my feet. I did not cry.
Indradeva was already there. Before he

Congress Review Act Analysis
With Republican President, Donald Trump, and the Republican Party holding the majority of both
chambers of the 115th Congress, passing environmental protection legislation doesn t seem to be a
priority (or even a thought). Not only are Congress and the President ignoring environmental
protection, but they have also worked together to reverse current environmental protection regulations.
Normally, repealing any form of legislation is a lengthy and challenging task. However, during the
spring of 2017, the Legislative and Executive branches were able to quickly and easily get rid of two
environmental protection rules. This ease of change definitively had do with the legislation being
bureaucratic agency rules and laws. Though, not only were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Additionally, the intent of the procedure is pretty pointless because the president could just override an
agency rule. Though, because the tool is meant for Congress but has a road block of the presidency,
this Congressional tool has barely left the toolbox. In fact, it has only worked one time before 2017
(Feller). However, since Trump was sworn into office, the CRA has resurfaced. When a political party
takes over the Presidency with control of both Congressional chambers this device can be very
affective. Because the CRA allows the 60 day disapproval window, many of Obama s midnight
regulations were at risk of being overturned. Specifically, in the Congress and Trump were able to roll
back 14 out of the 15 Obama regulations that fell into the 60 day window (Larkin). The Stream
Protection Act was one of these 14 disapprovals that was passed in the spring of 2017. In December of
2016, the Federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement issued a regulation
requiring coal companies to monitor water quality near mines. Specifically, the rule established a
buffer zone rule, blocking mining within 100 feet of streams. In general, the rule put stricter
regulations on coal mining companies in efforts to reduce pollution and preserve natural resources
(Feller). This rule was in effect for a very short period before the new President and Congress changed
it. This rule disapproval was

Ancient Egypt-The Great Pyramid Of Giza
Egypt has had a complex history. At the beginning of recorded history, Egypt was ruled by god kings
called pharaohs. Each one attempted to outdo his predecessors in the scale and complexity of his
tomb. This competition led to Egypt s most recognizable monuments: the pyramids. Pharaohs such as
Djoser, Snefru, and Khufu built ever bigger monuments to their own glory and to the gods they
worshiped. What innovations were created in the path to the largest pyramid the Great pyramid of
Giza, and what caused those innovations?
In the 1st dynasty, pharaohs built their tombs at Abydos, on the west bank of the Nile. According to
Egyptian myth, the western desert was the land of the dead, due to the fact that the sun set in the west
and was reborn in the east. The pharaohs built mastabas, mounds of dirt and rock roughly shaped like
a brick. In the center of each structure, a shaft was dropped down for many feet. The bottom of that

Why Is Cal Mccaffrey Unethical
In today s day and age, mass media has completely changed the way in which we consume news. The

Newspapers are often an overlooked form of news, which is surprising considering that it is a

Difference Between Semiotics, Semiology And Difference
What is Semiotics, Semiology and Difference? In this paper I will define the Semiotics, Semiology
and Difference then I will give the views and beliefs of the three of the masterminds behind these
terms.
Firstly, Semiology and Semiotics are two related disciplines, which study semiotics, the relation of
significance involving signs, object and mind, and classification of signs. Semiotics is a synonym for
Semiology. Semiotics is defined as the study of signs and symbols and their interpretation, while
Semiology is semiotics, the study of signs. According to Swiss Linguist and Semiotician Ferdinand de
Saussure semiotics is the science of signs. Saussure in Course in General Linguistics, said the roles of
signs are part of our social life . For him, sign has two parts, the signifier and the signified. The
signifier is the physical form of the sign. The signified is the concept to which the signifier refers the
meaning or idea it refers to in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For him, Semiotics is a formal doctrine of sign, signs must have a real connection with the thing it
signifies. It is a much boarder clasof Saussure s signifier, as it extends into the physical as well.
According to him, there is a third element that must be present for signification to take happen. This,
additional element is the understanding of the relation between signifier and signified, he referred to
this as the interpretant. The interpretant sheds light on the relationship between signifier and signified.
Pierce admonishes that a sign or signifier must be interpreted in order to exist. The sign or signifier
creates an interpretant and this in turn allows us to access it object or the signified. In other words, if
the sign means something it requires somebody (a mind) signifying and something (an object) that is

Lessons I Learned For Myself
Lessons I Learned for Myself. For the first time in my life, I became aware of how I use my voice and
body to deliver a certain message to an audience. This awareness came to me during my first
professional voice class. With Antonio s help, I became able to identify parts of my body that tighten
up my movements and have a significant impact on my voice. During class exercises, I noticed that I
have a tendency to lean my knees back and tense belly muscles. These habits do not let me free my
voice and make it sound unnatural. After reading Patsy Rodenburg s book The Right to Speak I would
describe my voice as habitual because it is encrusted with restrictive tendencies, which I refer to as
habits (Rodenburg, 19). I feel that I was constantly pushed into adopting habits throughout my life in
order to reach the perfection that does not even exist. Habits enforced by myself, culture, and parents
became barriers to my voice. This class taught me that in order to thrive in everything I say, I should
eliminate habitual voice and free my natural voice. What I got out of our classes I remember how our
first class started with a generosity game. To be honest, at first, I had no idea what was the purpose of
this game. I did not understand what generosity has to do with my voice. I considered myself generous
in actions because I was always willing to share with people. But it turned out that I lacked generosity
in my speech. I lacked generosity in emotions, information, and honesty.

Ritalin as prescribed is taken orally, and takes effect in about 30 minutes and lasts for about 3 4 hours.
Kids usually take 5 10 mg doses three times a day. Although many experts report that Ritalin is a
positive treatment in 9 out of 10 patienst, and many parents and students claim the drug is a benefit in
their lives , there are many who question the drug s long term effects, dangers, misdiagnosis, and non

How The Geographical, Governmental, And Human Development...
Those considered poor in developing countries often lack the fundamental access to buy adequate
food, water, or other basic needs. Although recent World Bank data has revealed that world poverty
has declined 43 percent since 1990 and 52 percent since 1981, poverty is still a worldwide
phenomenon that is prevalent even among the most highly industrialized countries . Presently,
according to World Bank data, 1.22 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day in 2010 and 2.4 billion
people live on less than US $2 a day in 2010. This is almost half of the world s population. The scope
of this study is limited somewhat because poverty is a multidimensional concept in which a
voluminous number of factors can be causally related to this phenomenon. Therefore, this research
will seek to answer what impact does the geographical, governmental, and human development
characteristics have on the rate of poverty in developing countries.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
The existence of poverty is as old as time itself, and still perplexes scholars of the world today. The
conceptualization of poverty is a multifaceted phenomenon in which varying factors contribute to this
worldwide problem. Thus, six arguments of poverty will warrant closer examination: including
culture, gender inequality, economic growth, geographical region, human development, and
government. First, scholars that link culture to poverty argue those countries that are inherently poor
must change their prevailing customs and

Why Do Food Companies Lie
Food companies are misleading and not 100% honesty about what they say. Food companies would
put just about anything in foods so that they can pay less to make it. We as people know the common
things they tell us an example: how much sugar, fats, and high fructose corn syrup. Most Companies
even give us a number of calories we are eating as well as serving we should eat. Although, are we
truly getting the entire ingredient list, telling us what chemicals are being used? Food companies
should be more honest about the ingredients they use because everyone should have the right to know
what we are eating.
The line between artificial and natural flavors can often be quite thin or even impossible to see.

Cheer Is A Sport Essay
Cheer has been around for a long time. It may not be the oldest or best sport in the world, but it is
definitely a sport. Cheerleading has gone from cheering on sports to All Star cheer, competing. Many
people have said cheer isn t a sport, but there are rules and requirements that make cheer a sport just
like football or soccer.
Cheer was founded by Johnny Campbell, he lead the first cheers on November, 1898 at the Minnesota
University American football game. Campbell helped the crowd cheer for their team and helped their
team to wins by cheering and encouraging. Cheerleaders have been required to lift up and throw
people in the air, along with tumbling, jumps, and dance. These require the strength of football, grace
of dance, and agility of gymnastics. The skills performed go beyond the limits of the body. Safety
organizations like ,AACCA, have been formed because of the requirements and skills of cheer.
Coaches have been professionally trained at national conventions. This sport takes a lot of time
commitment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a considerable risk of serious injury, like concussion, spinal damage, and broken bones. A
2011 report from National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research, found that High school and
college cheerleaders account for approximately two thirds of the catastrophic injuries to female
injuries. Illinois delegation is putting forward a resolution asking AMA to Support the designation of
cheerleading as a sport. Cheer became its own competitive sport in its own right. American Academy
of Pediatricians called for more attention to cheer injuries and giving the sports label to cheer. But
Federal appeals court ruled Quinnipiac College in Connecticut can not count cheer as a sport under
Title IX as way to offset disbanding women s volleyball. This shouldn t stop us from counting cheer as
a sport

Human Greed In The War Against The Trees
Stanley Kunitz, The War Against The Trees, utilizes the theme of humans greed and how it leads to
them destroying nature and neighborhoods for resources, money, and expansion, and it mourns the
loss of nature.Kunitz uses the personification of machinery and nature to turn it into to a scene of war
between the two which helps paint the picture in the reader s mind.Stanley makes use of metaphor as
well which works well with the personification by relating what is happening to the areas of nature to
things that happen to humans. Kunitz s personification of nature makes them feel alive and human to
make the reader feel more emotion for whats being destroyed by humanity. It stops the reader from
thinking of trees and plants as inanimate, but

Statement Of Purpose For A Robot
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Motion Engaged , as it displayed, the robot turned around and moved towards the fourteen year old,
whose fathomless curiosity waited for answers to a thousand questions regarding the mysterious
object. Just one thought kept coming back to me which one of them was a miracle, the components
that made the robot alive, or the man who knew exactly what to do with them. Both, I finally
concluded. If god has blessed us with semiconductors, it is man, who in his conquest for progress has
discovered in these materials the means of putting his dreams to shape.
My interest in VLSI is deep rooted. Even before I began studying it as a Science I remember reading
about the gadgets in magazines. From the invention of the first silicon transistor to the microchip
invented by Texas Instruments, from the first vacuum tubes and integrated circuits, to the Intel
microprocessor and the present day C.P.U. every event has been a milestone which I have not only
read about but also savoured for how it has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the time to water the seeds of VLSI that were sown earlier. In 2010, I completed my schooling
from Ahlcon International School, Delhi. This marked the culmination of a 12 year period of brilliant
schooling and I must admit that much of what I have gone on to do and achieve is the result of those
years. In August 2011, I enrolled for a 4 year Bachelor s Program at Jaypee Institute of Information
Technology, Noida and opted for Electronics and Communication as my Major. I have spent the past
few years in an atmosphere of proactive and vibrant academics. Amidst students drawn from every
corner of India and a faculty of highly qualified and widely travelled mentors, I have flowered. I
remember my teacher, Professor Satyendra Kumar, walk into the first class of Basic Electronic
Devices and Circuits and write on the board The Next Big Thing Is Really Small. And I knew I was in

What Are The Effects Of War In Lord Of The Flies
Mankind has destroyed a large amount its own species and much of the surrounding environment in a
very short space of time. Many novels throughout these past one hundred years explore the concept of
war and its effects on both the environment and civilisation, and also the kind of human nature that
has to come with doing so. William Golding s 1954 novel, Lord of the Flies, was written just after
World War II and Golding himself had witnessed first hand the man against man combat in WWII. He
has managed to demonstrate many different ideas within the novel, such as the darkness in human
nature through the boys slow decent into savagery, and also the human race s impact on nature and the
consequences that has. In this piece of literature, Golding

  • 2. Why Was World War 1 A Turning Point In History World war one occurred during 1914 to 1918 and was a major turning point in history. Thirty two countries were involved in world war one. After the war ended many soldiers were given the title of being a war hero for their courageous actions during the war. However all the mothers, wives and children that were left in Australia were left with the major responsibility of taking on paid employment and household work and they deserve equal recognition. Whilst young Australian men were fighting in the war, the Australian economy, workforce and female roles were changing but the Australian spirit and reputation was only growing through the support given to sliders from their home front. The Australian society worked in way that prevented women from working as they were expected to stay home look after their children and do all the domestic work. Women that where not married before the war where unlikely to find a partner as sixty thousand men were killed and one hundred and fifty thousand men where injured (Skwirk online education, 2016). During this time women were expected to marry young and have children. Consequently this meant that when the war started thousands of men were forced to abandon their jobs and fight for Australia so there were many vacancies that need to be filled and there were also many women that were looking after their children and had no income. The government started to employing women through campaigns and recruiting drives (Australian Government, 2015). Women worked in areas that where originally considered jobs for men, some of these occupations include: railway guards, ticket collectors and some led horses or other animals on farms. Women were working the same jobs as men but earn less than fifty percent of a man s wage (University of Lincoln, n.d). Slowly the Australian society was changing their views on female ... It belongs to the Carnivore group even though it eats 99% bamboo. Pandas found in the wild will eat other grasses, wild tubers, or meat in the form of birds, rodents, or carrion. Pandas in captivity receive honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, bananas, or other specially prepared foods. Pandas live in mountain ranges because deforestation has driven them from lowland areas. The panda is an endangered species. According to a 2007 report, there are 239 pandas living in captivity in China, 27 pandas living outside the country, and 1,590 pandas living in the wild. The panda bear is a great symbol in China. This animal is noticed because it is on the endangered species list. The red panda, though it shares the name of panda, is not a bear. It is more closely related to a raccoon or skunk and is an endangered species. This panda is called the red panda, lesser panda, or red cat bear. This animal is not closely related to the giant panda or panda bear. This is an animal that is adorable and cuddly looking but it also is so much larger than it appears. Iran, Iran And Concessions, Mid 19th Century And 20th Century Spring 15 Iran and Concessions, mid 19th to early 20th Century, the Catalysts of Change Throughout the 19th and 20th century Iran saw not only the changing of three regimes, but also the coming, and going of classical imperialists in Britain and Russia, but also late comers to the game in the United States. In each instance however, Iran was on a road to appeasement. In some instances such as with the Qajar s, Iran s Imperial family was trying to get more money for the betterment of itself. Britain during this time had fought with Iran and beat them in some battles. The Qajar dynasty was in dire straits as a result and it did not help that the Shah was spending his country into a more precarious position than he was already in. By the late 19th century the Shah due to his opulent life style began to issue concessions to each power ruling its upper and lower regions for a fee. A concession is an amicable agreement to give a certain right such as the ability to improve infrastructure in order that the concession holder have a monopoly over this enterprise in its given area. • 6. The Impact Of Community Service On The Community Community service is simply defined as non paid work done by an individual, group, or organization that benefits the community. While community service is commonly interchanged with volunteerism, these two terms should not be interchanged with each other since the former could be a mandatory task or requirement in certain situations. These situations include requirements for being granted citizenship to a country, class projects or requirements, and it can also serve as a corrective sanction for criminal charges. Before we discuss the value of community service and its impacts on the individual, let us first look into the relationship of the individual and to the society. With man being a social being, one can never separate himself not only from his immediate community but to the larger society as well. Since time immemorial, man has relied on the various mechanisms of community in order to address his needs for survival. We can observe man s reliance on the community even dating back to the prehistoric era. During this time, the primitive communal mode of production was dominant among communities, where everyone had a part to play in feeding and taking care of the community members. But this was not only the duties of the community members. While survival was the primary interest during the primitive communal stage of society, by staying and living within a community, mean learned to develop values, culture, and of course a set of rules to govern the community and maintain ... On the other hand, people believe in a fixed mindset that primary qualities like abilities and intelligence are fixed and cannot be developed. Teachers and parents can make children develop growth mindset by praising their strategies and persistence, by giving them stories that emphasize on effort and the Importance of learning, and teaching the students that a brain is a learning tool or machine (Gupta, et al., 2012). The society is currently worshipping talent and individuals assume that having the ability or superior intelligence with confidence is one way of succeeding. Overemphasis on talent or intelligence leaves students prone to failure, afraid of challenges and they are not ready to accept their shortcomings (Taylor, et al., 2014). Praising innate abilities of children, reinforce fixed mindset, which can prevent people in workforces or young athletics and even the married people to live up to their potential. By teaching students to have the growth mindset encourages them to use their personal effort and come up with effective strategies and not talent or intelligence which will help them to achieve highly in life and even in school. • 10. Space Exploration Persuasive Essay The concept of space exploration was first introduced to the American public in 1961 when President John F. Kennedy famously stood before congress and vowed that America would put a man on the moon within the decade. With hopes of defeating the Soviet Union in the Space Race and gaining a leg up in the Cold War, NASA funding reached its all time high in 1965 1966 when about four percent of the federal budget was devoted to exploring space. Since then however, funding dedicated to exploring space has nose dived to about one half of a percent of the federal budget (Tyson), with plans to cut that figure by an additional $260 million in 2017 (cite NASA funding cuts). Experts in the space sciences field argue that increased funding in space exploration would re ignite the American economy and return America to the scientific prominence it was once known for, while, on the other end of the spectrum, naysayers suggest that exploring space is an economic sink hole that the United States can no longer afford to deposit to given its own earth bound troubles. The biggest affect increased space exploration would have could be its change on the education landscape. In 1998, NASA scientists Adriana Ocampo, Louis Friedman, and John Logsdon explored NASA s effect on education in their article, Why Space Science and Exploration Benefit Everyone. Although it is categorized as a neuromuscular disease , there are few other factors other than acquired immunological abnormality , like genetic abnormality in neuromuscular junction , and some relations to thymus diseases and cancers. Myasthenia gravis presents clinically in a variety of ways, with varied symptoms that make it difficult to diagnose it in initial stages. As MG became the subject of interest to neurologists mostly in the past years , however it is still categorized as an autoimmune disease , and much about pathophysiology and immunopathology of MG has been learned in the past 20 years. The origin of the autoimmune dysfunction in MG patients is unknown, but thymic abnormalities, defects in immune regulation and sex hormones play major roles in patients with anti AChR antibodies. Genetic predisposition is also likely to influence the occurrence of the disease as mentioned above. Pathogenesis And Factors : Autoimmune factors : As mentioned previously , MG is mostly considered as an acquired autoimmune disease of the neuromuscular junction. • 14. Meno Skeptics The skeptic is unable to investigate or form any sort of conception of their dogmatic views.(III 31) The above conclusion stems from two premises presented by the dogmatists in their argument against the skeptics ability to inquire. Firstly, if the skpetic grasps what the dogmatist says, he cannot be in doubt about what he has grasped. And secondly, if the skeptic doesn t grasp what the dogmatist says, he will not even be able to talk about what he has grasped. The dogmatist claim we are considering is a reformulation of meno s paradox because the premises and the conclusion are similar to that of the paradox. Consequently, we will be examining the above claim by the dogmatists and the response by Sextus Empiricus to the dogmatist claims in the frame of meno s paradox. The suspension of judgement means that the skeptic neither denies nor affirms an idea when it comes to inquiry. Such a stance leads to a calmness of the soul or freedom from disturbance. Art will be made for the purpose of reproduction to reach the highest audience. The aura of an object will no longer matter because it will not be part of the class consciousness. As Benjamin brings up the debate of the cult value versus the exhibition value, the value of art will change so that it s only function will be based on how many times it can be reproduced. Horkheimer and Adorno describe the culture industry as, millions participate in it, certain reproduction processes are necessary that inevitably require identical needs in innumerable places to be satisfied with identical goods (1256). Benjamin argues that as soon as the authenticity is lost, art s function is transformed. Horkheimer and Adorno describe a new function of art, to produce for mass consumption. Those in control of the modes of production want to replace the ritual value with a exhibition value to increase profit. Thus creating a bigger divide between the working class and the upper class. Art is being given a new value under capitalism. Benjamin suggests that what is being created within the society is correlated to that value that society puts on art. • 32. Descriptive Essay On Beauty I had to decorate my head with flowers and was looking exquisite. My father had prohibited me from using scented perfumes. I also did not have slightest of interest in that. I have been brought up in nature. Where does beauty live? Is it in jewelry or clothes, in the body, in soul or in the eye of the beholder? I was wondering. Four chariots named Rug, Yarju, Sam and Atharva were constructed. The great father Brahma sat on Rug. Twayi and Anwikshika were sitting in Yarju. Varta and Niti were in Atharva. Yarju was decorated with beautiful flowers. A drape of flowers covered the front of the chariot. The fourth chariot Atharva was appearing like a bouquet of red flowers. I sat in the chariot Sam, which was decorated with vines and fragrant flowers. In front of me, a garland of white jasmine was hanging. I was bathing with the fragrance of the flowers. My whole body, my mind, and my soul were all filled with fragrance. No one could see me from outside the chariot. But, I could see through the vines and thorns. I did not know the logic behind bringing me to heaven like a prisoner. I was sitting with suppressed curiosity, but was enjoying the scenery of the Indraloka. Even though heaven s beauty amazed me, my mind was thinking about my motherland, the earth. My playground, the elegant forest on the foothills of the Himalayas was no way less beautiful. I could never accept that my unique mother land is less prosperous than the kingdom of Indraloka. After attending godhood, it was natural to become a lover of luxury. Hence, the kingdom of gods was so much a show off. If my motherland was a selfless hermit, the heaven was a hedonist beauty. If the Indraloka was so attractive, then how attractive Indra would be? After the discussion, I was supposed to come out of the chariot as if for a display. That time I could see without any hindrance and Indradeva could also see me. I remembered my first encounter with Indra. He was visiting my father in the ashram. His chariot was in the garden and I sat in it pretending to navigate it. As soon as I saw him returning to the chariot, I got scared. I slipped and fell while descending from the chariot and twisted my feet. I did not cry. Indradeva was already there. Before he ... This awareness came to me during my first professional voice class. With Antonio s help, I became able to identify parts of my body that tighten up my movements and have a significant impact on my voice. During class exercises, I noticed that I have a tendency to lean my knees back and tense belly muscles. These habits do not let me free my voice and make it sound unnatural. After reading Patsy Rodenburg s book The Right to Speak I would describe my voice as habitual because it is encrusted with restrictive tendencies, which I refer to as habits (Rodenburg, 19). I feel that I was constantly pushed into adopting habits throughout my life in order to reach the perfection that does not even exist. Habits enforced by myself, culture, and parents became barriers to my voice. This class taught me that in order to thrive in everything I say, I should eliminate habitual voice and free my natural voice. What I got out of our classes I remember how our first class started with a generosity game. To be honest, at first, I had no idea what was the purpose of this game.
