How Did The Allies Cause Ww1
World War I was a war which really only needed any excuse to get started because of national
tensions, fear of imperialism and takeover as well as unresolved disputes from previous conflicts
between Germany and its border nations and allies. The excuse for this war or the small spark that lit
the huge fire of war and massive bloodshed came from Austria
Hungary and Serbia s dispute over how
to deal with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. Basically the Austria
Hungarian government
believed that the Serbian Government was responsible for the assassination and therefore demanded to
be involved in the investigation and prosecution inside Serbia. Once these two countries had conflict

exception of France and Italy. The arms build up was another big cause of World War 1, especially if
France was already in a war with Germany prior to World War 1, this was just a small excuse to get
Germany right when they didn t expect it. The naval arms race betweeen Germany and Britian was

Gfe3 Synthesis
In a recent study, researchers report a novel and easy way to hijack the brain s natural processes. This
technique, which involves the fusion protein GFE3, interferes with the inhibitory synapses between
neurons resulting in an overall rise in the brain s electrical activity.
The team, led by Don B. Arnold, professor of biological sciences at the University of Southern
California, used GFE3 which is a fusion of two proteins: E3 ligase, which degrades proteins; and
FingR, which recognizes and binds to proteins in inhibitory synapses.
Arnold explains: Rather than a cell deciding when a protein needs to be degraded, we sort of hijack
the process.
Synapses can either be excitatory or inhibitory, depending on whether the postsynaptic neuron is ...

For this, they used the zebrafish as an animal model.
They created genetically modified zebrafish by injecting the zygotes with the GFE3 construct that was
further modified to be expressed only in the spine.
Consistent with their earlier results, imaging techniques show the absence of the inhibitory proteins in
the spines of the zebrafish. Interestingly, they also found that zebrafish injected with GFE3 had
sharply reduced motor coordination described by poor tail flicking motions.
Perhaps most remarkably, however, is that the team was able to show that the effects of GFE3 were
reversible; something that other similar techniques do not have. The team did this by further
modifying GFE3 to be expressed only when the chemical dox is present.
When they removed dox, the team observed that GFE3 disappeared and the inhibitory proteins
returned.
This study represents one of the first few studies that have focused on a protein centric approach to
controlling neurons and synapses. According to Arnold, further studies could contribute to therapies
and drugs predicated on the ability to finely tune the brain. This is especially useful in diseases caused
by altered brain chemistry like schizophrenia and

Technology s Impact on Relationships
New technology can ruin relationships completely if people lack communication skills. Why would
someone want to get to know someone without being face to face? What would they talk about when
they are together? The relationship would become dull and boring; there is no way to avoid that.
Communication is key; being able to use body language and tones in your voice so people won t get
the wrong idea is impossible over the Internet. Everyone has been in a situation when texting
someone, and he or she says something that comes off offensive, and you are completely put off, and
feel like you are put in an awkward situation. That rarely happens when you re able to read people
face to face .
Long distance relationships can be very successful using technology if people take advantage of the
newer video chatting. My boyfriend lives in Mississippi, and I live here in Texas, but we see each
other at least once a day or more. It s like he isn t in another state most of the time. Communication is
key; if a relationship has no real communication then what is it? We started dating in high school
when we could see each other as much as we wished; but then he left for Ole Miss. I was scared at
first that this long distance would ruin us, but I couldn t have been more wrong. New technology, such
as FaceTime, and Skype has been very beneficial to our long distance relationship. He calls me on
Skype/FaceTime every night, and we work on homework together, and just like if he was here with

Abstract
Corporate governance is a key element in improving the economic efficiency of a bank. It should be
fair and transparent to its customers and stakeholders in all its transactions. A sound corporate
governance also contributes to the protection of depositors of the bank. It also involves the manner in
which the business and affairs of banks are governed by their board of directors and senior
management, which reflects how they function. This paper is descriptive in nature conferred about the
composition of the board of directors in the Public sector commercial banks. The finding of this paper
exemplify that the Public sector commercial banks have Fit and Proper board in their respective
banks.

The Current Rating System in the United States Essay

The Current Rating System in the United States
The current content rating system in use for film, the MPAA, is the only content rating system that is
legally enforced in the United States. For this reason, the system has caused controversy. Many have
claimed that the system is unbalanced, as the MPAA bases the level of appropriate content for all
people in the United States off of the opinions of an unidentified council of people over the age of
forty (Jenkins). The stance on how the system s effectiveness is a relative stance, however, the
secondhand effects of the system are obvious and existing today. Decisions have been made by film
distribution companies that have affected the way films with objectionable ... Show more content on

This type of butterfly effect that the rating system has on films is evident: the attempt to block off
certain age limits to harsh types of content has ultimately put pressure on artists to limit types of ways
to tell a story in mainstream film. In the interview with filmmaker Kirby Dick on this subject, the
interviewer asks him about the topic of sexuality in film, MPAA s stance on sexuality, and how Dick
represented these ideas presented in his film. Dick stated,
Allison Anders makes the very interesting point that in some ways the ratings system is more
restrictive of sexuality now than it was in the Sixties and Seventies. I think there are a number of
reasons. Perhaps to some degree society has shifted slightly. Film studios were making some money
from films that were more sexually provocative, like Midnight Cowboy. But, then again, you have to
realize that the studios benefit from the system s coming down hard on films, especially on
independent films about adult sexuality. To begin with, who makes those films? Independents and
foreign filmmakers make those films, and that s the studios competition. So they restrict it. It s not
much competition, but it does make a difference. Jt also makes it appear like the Rating Jioard is
doing its job as censors, as raters, doing their job, and doesn t pay attention to the fact that all these
films about violence are slipping through unencumbered by a rating. And the studio filmmakers are

Computer Technology During The Cold War
Imagine if computer technology was vastly different than it is today. There were many different
computer technologies founded during the Cold War from 1947 to 1991. The Cold War was a state of
tension after World War II. The tensions during the Cold War allowed for the occurrence of many
different events. These tensions required new technological inventions leading to the rise of computer
technology. The Cold War led to the creation of the ARPAnet, SAGE, and the Space Race. The
ARPAnet was a network created for the purpose of preventing nuclear strike from the Soviet Union by
protecting the flow of information. Another computer technology was the SAGE system, a defense
system to assist the United States with incoming threats during the ... Show more content on

When the Soviet Union detonated their first atomic bomb, the US found they needed an amazing
defense system. The United States went to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they

created and was known as the Semi Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE). This was the national
air defense system implemented by the United States in order to warn the US of incoming attacks and
intercept airborne attacks during the Cold War. With the production of SAGE, there was the need for a

Asset-Liability Management
Asset Liability Management
Asset Liability Management (ALM) can be defined as the ongoing process of formulating,
implementing, monitoring and revising strategies related to assets and liabilities to achieve an
organization s financial objectives, given the organization s risk tolerances and other constraints [1].
ALM also is known as balance sheet management. In banking activity the gap between assets and
liabilities can bring some consequences where the following risks are arose. And as a whole it
influences badly on the bank s functioning. Solving that problem is the primary goal of ALM. The
good balance sheet management means that the return on loans and securities as the highest as
possible, risks are minimized and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also it is involved in structuring the transaction. At the same time the underwriter provides

Benefits and drawbacks of asset securitization
Before asset securitization was created, banks lent money to households and companies and these
loans existed in the banks balance sheets until they mature or are paid off. This creates a mismatching
of assets and liabilities because typically banks use deposits and issuance of debts as a provision of
loans. And both of them have shorter period of maturity then banks lending especially cars and
mortgages loans. Since the bank started to use securities backed by assets or in other words it started
to transfer the ownership of the assets to SPVs, the great opportunities have began widely available for
the bank. And the main of that fee income and additional trading opportunities are providing.
Securitization is the process of transforming illiquid assts into marketable securities. This helps banks
to maintain or even increase their liquidity because long term loans are replaced to SPVs. As a
consequence, the gap between balance sheet sides also is diminished. And as a result the position of
the bank becomes more stable and it frees up capital to provide new loans. In other words, the
opportunity for bank to lend additional funds to the consumers appears. Moreover, securitization
provides quick access to funds that

Eagle Ford Shale Industry Analysis
Texas has always been proud of their heritage and their industry. The boost in the economy is much
appreciated by Texas, and our government appears to be hushed by the counter weights and balances
where money appears to overpower the concern of environmental harm. Two articles that were
reviewed gave the opportunity to enlightened Texans about how production appears to be affecting air
quality and water and in turn is hurting Texans health. Through facts presented, it is apparent that
Texas government must take measures to improve the regulatory agencies so that the health of Texans
is secure. I am personally appalled by the facts stated in the articles, and reform is definitely required.

Just Is A Poem Written By. Cummings
In Just is a poem written by e.e. cummings. It describes that spring is full of new memories and
activities. In just is about how little children go running to a balloonman. His whistles draw them
closer to him and they stop whatever they are doing to heed to his calling. He likes to play with the
spacing in between words and sentences that help the meaning of the poem and the balloonman.
Cummings uses many elements of poetry and describes the balloonman that has many theories to his
purpose in the poem. First, the balloonman appears several times in the poem In Just . He fits the
spring setting but is described with words that make him stick out. The balloonman has a much darker
purpose in the poem then what is read. On lines 3 and 4 he is described as little and lame. He is
described as lame to tell the readers that he can t walk properly he s got a limp (shmoop). On lines 11
and 12 cummings described him as old and queer. Spring is the setting and represents things that are
new, but the balloonman is old which makes him not fit the poem even more. He is also called queer
which means weird. The balloonman is getting a lot more attention than anything else in the poem
which makes it seem like he needs to be looked into more. On lines 20 and 21 the balloonMan is
described even more. He is called goat footed and the M in men is capitalized. On every line after the
balloonman appears he is described as whistling far and wee. He is called goat footed because he is

Analysis Of Atmospheric On Site Assignment
For my Atmospheric on Site assignment I chose the store Scheels. I chose Scheels because this is
where I ve almost always gone for any sporting good needs, as well as most of my apparel needs.
When entering the store, I receive a very welcoming hello from the clerks, as well as a few eye
catching displays of animals up on the walls. After walking to my first section, the baseball section,
which at the time was pretty small, being out of season. I could immediately smell leather a vague sent
of leather. As I had mentioned, the selection was quite small but they still had a small variety of
options. They had all their bats in one sections, both girls and guys. They were separated according,

This then brings bake the idea that they have plenty of experts in each section for advice you on all
their products and make sure you are getting the right product. Next, I went over the hunting and
fishing section, knowing that was in season, it should be interesting. This section had plenty of experts
helping the vast number of customers coming in. They had great displays, from mounted fish and deer
to bears. With myself not being a big hunter, this still gave a great deal of excitement when entering
their hunting and fishing section. I asked the manager, how it works with expanding in season
products . He said, yes of course they expand to fit each season, but they also try their best to not take
anything off the floor. He was explaining why they spend money to put these displays and animals
along with different pictures and displays in each section. They want to create a specialty shop vibe.
The feeling that when you walk into a different section that section is almost as if it s a different store
itself. They put different style manikins and displays in every section to make it feel as if that
customer was walking into a boutique. One thing he said he really liked that they no longer do, was
different music in every section. They had to change this and go with a store wide playlist. However, it
still does fit each section accordingly, and that would explain what I was hearing around the store,
going from section to section. I headed over towards the shoes

How Does Harry Potter Show Courage
In this unit on Myth and Legend we read many different themes including courage and strength,
compassion and sacrificial love, warning against vanity and gossip and tragic consequence. The one
theme that stuck with me is courage.
I feel that courage is important because if we don t teach that courage is a good thing then, we would
be stuck doing the same thing everyone else would be doing with only courageous enjoying life and
they would most likely control the people that do not have courage. some of the greatest inventions
happened on accident and some people discouraged them for inventing, but they still had enough
courage in themselves and their idea and made things that would change lives. Also amazing things
that changing the course of history happened because people had courage to make a path for

Life Reflected In William Cullen Bryant s Poetry
William Cullen Bryant William Cullen Bryant was a man with many different abilities and he was
well rounded between political, religious, and writing matters. He had very strong opinions on matters
that greatly influenced the United States. William Cullen Bryant had many historical and political
contributions through his life as a writer and a free willed man.
William Cullen Bryant had a very successful early life. He was considered to be a puritan since a
young age. The religious training the young boy received at his hands left such a mark upon him that
Bryant the mature poet has sometimes been called a puritan (Unger 151). Bryant was pushed by his

These diverse issues included slavery, sectionalism, the national bank, currency stabilization, the
creation of Central Park, the need for prison reform, labor rights, copyright laws, and freedom of the
press ( Bryant, William Cullen 3). Bryant didn t want to be in politics but he used his writing to show
his opinion on all of his political related topics. Although he did not intend to be in politics, that was a
very strong area for him. Bryant joined the Democratic Party and made the Post an organ of free trade,
free speech, abolition, and workingmen s rights. He later was a founder of the Republican Party (
William Cullen Bryant 1). The topic of slavery was one of Bryant s biggest struggles. He had a very
strong opinion against slavery and was in some cases considered to be an abolitionist. Bryant devoted
his time to trying to stop the spread of slavery. Bryant s beliefs against slavery hurt the Evening Post
and was eventually hated in the south because of his edits against slavery. He put up the slogan above
the masthead of the editorials: Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Trade, and Free Speech, which was the
slogan for the Barnburner wing of the Democratic Party, which made people hate him even more (
Bryant, William Cullen 3). Bryant thought in a way that slavery would dissipate on it s own, but
however that was not the case. With many issues legally among the savery, he began to write

Dostoevsky s The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment
God Answers the Questions Presented by Dostoevsky s The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and
Punishment
In Dostoevsky s novels pain and some heavy burden of the inevitability of human suffering and
helplessness form Russia. And he depicts it not with white gloves on, nor through the blisters of the
peasant, but through people who are close to him and his realities: city people who either have faith,
or secular humanists who are so remote from reality that even when they love humanity they despise
humans because of their own inability to achieve or to create paradise on earth. His novels The
Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment are best examples of the poisonous effect of such
ideals on the common man. The rebellion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is not the love that is directed towards the humanity as a whole, but towards the individual: Strive
to love your neighbor actively and indefatigably (II, 4). For Dostoevsky such love is a false one and he
presents it through such characters as Rakitin, Perkhotin and even Luzhin:
Consciousness of life is superior to life, knowledge of the laws of happiness is superior to happiness
that is what we must fight against. (The Dream of a Ridiculous Man , p. 382)
One of greatest evils for Dostoevsky are the so called liberals who love humanity more than an
individual man. Yet he does not represent their behavior as genuinely evil . Their hate towards
humanity arises exactly from the opposite: love. Secular humanists see so much evil, crime and
inhumanity, they cannot stop it so they rebel. Ivan Karamazov and his rebellion are purely of that
kind. He is not vile, he just cannot understand that there might be a solution for such suffering,
especially in the case of children who are innocent in Christianity. That is why Ivan asks:
Love life more than the meaning of it? (II, 3)
Ivan as any average intellectual, wants to know. To know the meaning of life for him is more
important than to actually do something about the human suffering. Ivan forgets that one human life is
as important as the entire humanity. For him humanity is merely an abstraction which happen to be
surrounding him.

Reflection Paper On Time Management
DESCRIPTION
Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management starts
with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time
based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar
somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for
a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent
and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time.
When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study.
Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created
with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now
and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by month, week and then by the task are
the main tools to get organized using time management.

The Effects of Memory Improvement by Saying Words Aloud
THE EFFECTS OF MEMORY IMPROVEMENT BY SAYING WORDS ALOUD Abstract This
experiment proposes to study the effects of memory improvement by reciting and saying the words
out loud to oneself. Participants will be assigned to either two different types of conditions and will
then be required to recall the information of words as best as they can. It is assumed that a higher level
of generating the targeted words into memory is improved when readers say the words out loud to
themselves. Thus, the hypothesis concluded is that people who say words out loud after reading them
are expected to improve their memory in retaining information. The Effects of Memory Improvement

However, recent research done by Reynolds amp; Besner (2008) suggests that contrary to the view
that by vocalizing words out loud is entirely an automatic memory encoding, it in fact requires some
form of attention. Previous research was investigated further where participants were exposed to
reading lexicon and pseudo homophones aloud that required the use of central attention. In research
done by Blais amp; Besner (2007), repetition of words of lexical representations suggests longer
persistence in the early memory processing, as cited by Reynolds amp; Malley (2008). It was
discussed earlier that possibly the mere action of vocalizing words for memory recall will encourage
memory improvement at a higher level, thus making a person to be able to better retrieve previous
information if need be (Macleod et al., 2010). In another study, Kappel, Harfard, Burns amp;
Anderson, (1973) gave another possible explanation on the advantage of reading words out loud,
indicating that serial voiced recall were found to be superior for the later positions, and these results
replicates previous experiments done by Murray (1966) and Conrad amp; Hull (1968). However,
Kappel et al., (1973) proposed that the results reported suggest that differences in participants level of

murderers. Under that umbrella we discussed the differences between the two, the victims they may
attack, the reasons why they kill, personal backgrounds, and explanations to why they kill. At the end
of this course we were asked to pick a type of killer and explain what it is we learned from them. For
this paper I chose to talk about serial killers. The killers I chose to discuss are Paul Bernardo and Karla

The Seven Steps Of A Healthy Organization
At the beginning of doing my research I was not sure what Organizational culture was. In fact, I
thought it some kind of innocuous entity with no real meaning at all, but I now know that it is so much
more than that. Organizational culture is a companies back bone that determines the type of
organization that it will be and what it values above all else. It also determines if it will have a healthy
organizational culture or not and with it a great company can be constructed or demolished. The seven
steps of a healthy or unhealthy organizational culture can be found in any company whether it be in
public or private sectors. The difference and important part is how a company implements these
stages, in using these seven stages with deliberate purpose and putting in the effort necessary an
organization can keep a healthy culture within it. Nevertheless, if an organization just leaves its
culture and let it become what it may then anything can happen but without constant care and
forethought it is likely not to work out for the best. In both healthy and unhealthy culture there are
seven key factors that make them distinguishable to the outside or inside observer. The first is
innovation and risk a company that encourages its employees to take risks and think of new innovative
ways to do things is well on its way to having a healthy organizational culture. Although risk taking in
a company is encouraged if a company pushes its employees to take unnecessary risks this can

from Hospice (NHPCO, 2015). It is seen that many people uses Hospice care which means that many
deaths are also under the care of a Hospice program, therefore, patients and families satisfaction is a
crucial factor in assessing the quality of Hospice care and how to make improvement for future
services. Thus, I decided to conduct a research on patient and/or caregivers satisfaction that received
care from hospice programs.
The purpose of hospice is to effectively provide palliative care to terminally ill patients and their
families, it is available to any age, religion or race. According to the National Hospice and Palliative
Care Organization, hospice provides expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and
spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient s needs and wishes Support is provided to the patient

more of their patients, thus, they will be able to educate and encourage more families to choose
hospice care. Not only will it help the patient live out a comfortable life it will also help the caregivers

Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay
Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet
Follow her close, give her good watch, I pray you (IV.5.73).
Ostensibly, Shakespeare s Hamlet is the riddling, enigmatic, inscrutable theatrical character par
excellence. His motives, madness, conflicting morals and existential struggles are ambiguous to say
the least. When analysing his character, Laertes and Fortinbras are often brought in as examples of
less extreme characters dealing with similar but more tangible dilemmas. The idea that there may be
someone who exceeds Hamlet in instability and incomprehensibility is unfathomable. But if one looks
at the character of Ophelia, this notion not only becomes a viable possibility: it becomes unignorable.
For while Hamlet is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is weighed down with others expectations, and the fact that we do not hear her contemplate the
meaning of it all is not due to her mindlessness, but rather to her never having obtained the privilige of
either voicing her thoughts or of questioning her situation. Her mechanical responses to Polonius I
shall obey, my lord (I.3136), as you did command (II.1.105) and to Hamlet No, my lord Ay, my lord I
think nothing, my lord What is, my lord? Ay, my lord What means this, my lord? Tis brief, my lord
(III.2.106 141) are automatic. Resignation has become second nature.
With the lines Tis in my memory lock d,/And you yourself shall keep the key of it (I.3.85), Ophelia
surrenders all responsibility to Laertes: the image of his access to her memory is a powerful one. This,
in turn, juxtaposed against Polonius demand to possess full access to their relationship, creates a
disturbing picture of a young woman s complete lack of privacy. The very language Polonius uses,
Give me up the truth (I.3.98) implies surrender. The fact that the word truth, is used to describe what
she is meant to give up, loads the demand to breaking point.
But Ophelia is not only fenced in and loaded down. She also lacks the capacity to act, so that even if
she were released from her confines, she would be at a loss with what to do with her freedom. And
this state of precariousness is evident in her frightend reply to Polonius My lord, I do not

The Potential Of Participant Observation
Yes, research varies according to the nature of arguments and their personal information can also be
included in the entire material or changes of the information. For this reason, it will be unethical to
record the information and focus on what is in process to control further.
2. Which method do you think is more likely to produce valid information participant or
nonparticipant observation? Why? The valid information is mostly expected from the grounds of what
are the changes in behaviour and how much responses are ethical. In this regard, the most of the
responses are valid from focus group analysis, lab research and questionnaire as well as interview
studies.
3. Are there any kinds of behaviors that should not be observed? Explain your thinking. If so, give an
example. The behaviors those are immediate after any specific event or the influence from external
parties must not be observed or reported. The management and the ideas for this advancement is
required for all stages.
4. What would you say is the biggest advantage of participant observation? The biggest disadvantage?
The biggest advantage of the participant observation is their sincere behaviour and feeling the
situation accordingly. The disadvantage is looking for the issues those are not related to the field as it
can be the personal biasedness.
5. A major difficulty in observing people is that much that goes on may be missed by the observer. Is
this always true? Are there any ways to decrease what is

Sexuality in Aubrey Beardsley s Story of Venus and Tannhäuser
Aubrey Beardsley wrote The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser during the fin de siècle, the end of the
Victorian Era. This decadent work, following Baudelaire s credo art for art s sake first of all, portrays
sex and sexualities in a playful manner. In addition to mocking conventional Victorian moral codes,
and parodying pornographic conventions, The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser also supports Foucault s
idea that the Victorian Era witnessed a diffusion of sexualities.
The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser was originally toned down and modified for publication in 1897
in The Savoy, a magazine that Beardsley served as art editor, under the title of Under The Hill.
According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beardsley s readers were not to be of the common society; rather they had to be well educated
sophisticates to understand his work.
Another pornographic convention that Beardsley broke was that the characters had personalities and
functions in addition to sexual roles says Zatlin (119). Also, they did not have unlimited sexual energy,
rather Tannhäuser was rather relieved when, an hour later, Priapusa and Doricourt and some others
burst drunkenly into the room and claimed Venus for themselves (Beardsley 34).
With the diverse accounts of sexualities and the breaking of almost all of the prerequisites for erotic
writing and pornography of the Victorian Era, Beardsley wrote a truly decadent manuscript that defied
the conventions of mainstream literature. Whether Beardsley would have completed the tale had he
lived longer, or had meant to leave it as is, an unending piece of work, is unknown. What is known is
that Venus and Tannhäuser functions only as a piece of art for art s sake defying the social conventions
that were applied to other works of that time. Works Cited

The Florida Paralegal Program Act
The Florida Paralegal Program was created in 2007, in order to regulate the paralegal profession in the
state of the Florida. This program offers them a voluntary registration in this distingue organization,
under the compromise to meet certain requirements such as education, certification, or work
experience criteria, and also abide by a Code of Ethics and Responsibilities, all these based on the
Chapter 20 of the Rules regulating the Florida Bar. Subsequently, these rules establish that a Florida
Registered Paralegal is a paralegal who meets the requirements set out in Chapter 20 of the Rules
regulating the Florida Bar. These rules designate that a paralegal is a person with education, training or
work experience, who works under the direction of a member of The Florida Bar and who performs
specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a member of The Florida Bar is responsible.
However, there are certain differences, as well as pros and cons, between paralegals that are not
registered under this rule and those who are, specifically on the following main points: work
experience, education, and requirements to qualify.
The first point in discussion is relative to work experience. Due to the fact that nowadays,
grandfathering does not count anymore as available in order to register as a FRP, a person may no
longer use experience alone as a basis for eligibility for registration: (c) Grandfathering. A person who
does not meet the requirements of (a) or (b) may

Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis Essay
Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis
In the year 1625, Francis Bacon, a famous essayist and poet wrote about the influences of fear on
everyday life. He stated, Men fear death as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in
children is increased with tales, so is the other (Essays Dedication of Death). Clearly, external
surroundings affect perceptions of fear as well as human nature in general. Although C.S. Lewis
published the novel, Out of the Silent Planet, over three centuries after Bacon wrote his theory on fear,
Lewis similarly portrayed external surrounding to manipulate perceptions of fear. From the first
chapter of the novel, Lewis revealed fear to be a weakness that leads to ignorance. It was this ... Show

Rihanna s Disturbia
In a world where vapid bubble gum pop songs garner the most Youtube hits, radio requests, and
overall attention from today s youth, it is shocking to think that a pop music icon could release such a
thought provoking song. Contrary to the quintessential 21st century radio hits, Rihanna s 2008 single
entitled Disturbia challenges listeners to look beyond captivating beats and an irrefutably alluring
hook. Beneath the rhythmically appealing instrumentals lies a series of ominous lyrics that would
assuredly frighten the listeners if they comprehended these lines on a deeper level. The speaker
explores themes of mental illness and Hollywood infamy and employs a desperate tone that begs the
listener for assistance. The title itself instills a simultaneous feeling of familiarity and enigma in the
listener. Familiarity is present as the root word disturb is easily identifiable, but the title also elicits
feelings of confusion because Disturbia is not an actual word in the English language. The ia ending
suggests that it may be a place inhabited by mentally disturbed people. The song begins with a
repetitive cadence of alliterative vocals. This pattern is dull and indicative of an endless ... Show more

How Does Lewis Use Temptation In The Screwtape Letter
In The Screwtape Letters by C.S.Lewis, the novel is from the perspective of Screwtape, who is writing
letters to his nephew. Screwtape shows clever subtlety in tempting patients to self centeredness in
prayers through feelings and images, to gluttony through delicacy, and to pride through membership in
an elite Christian social circle. Screwtape uses many, seemingly good, things to manipulate his
patients. Lewis uses this as an illustration of how easily humans can fall into temptation. Screwtape
uses pride, and intellect as a form of temptation throughout the novel, even while the patient is a
Christian. In the beginning, the patient is a hard intellect, which turns him off of Christianity, as it is
illogical. However, the patient is eventually converted to faith, yet even then, he is overcome by pride.
He is prideful to his intellectual friends, as he is more virtuous than them. Yet, he is also prideful to his
Christian friends, since he is obviously the intellectual superior, and has a better grasp on reality.
Screwtape suggest using this as a way to pull him away. With this pride, he will never truly be a part
of the Christian group, and will always be detached from his faith. Lewis uses this as an example of
how pride can corrupt even the purest intentions. The patient lets his intellect ... Show more content on

The Importance Of Symbolism In Literature
Symbolism is a very important aspect of writing good literature. Symbolism can han have a major
impact on a piece of literature, it can make a bad writing really interesting or it can make a good
writing have a totally different meaning. Most readers miss the symbols the first time reading through
the work and they don t get it until someone teaches them or if they read it again, sometimes the
symbols are hard to detect in the story or poem, and other times they can be super easy to find such as
a giant red A on your chest. In 1984 the many Symbol was pretty easy to figure out and a had a big
meaning for part of the book which was really fascinating once you figured it out. Overall symbolism
is very important and hopefully everyone who reads this will realize that.
Symbolism is when the author uses an object or reference to add deeper meaning to a story. There are
hundreds of different symbols authors and poets use and even more ways for them to use each symbol.
If you think about it anything really can be a symbol if the author wants it to be. There are some basic
things to know about symbolism such as that the night often represents death and the morning usually
represents the start of life, another big one to remember is that usually a storm is meaning that there is
a conflict. There can be things as Broad as the sky or things as small as a cell used as a symbol. They

Sweatshops are factories that are used around the world that major brand companies use to make
products. These factories have gained media attention and controversy for the long hours and low pay

consumers shouldn t boycott companies that make sweatshop products. The first reason consumers
shouldn t boycott these products would be people actually deliberately take these jobs because in
developing countries most jobs don t pay that much. The second reason consumers shouldn t boycott
sweatshop products would be that it allows a lot of people in the developing worlds to rise out of

wore sneakers, t shirt, shorts, and a hat. She always wore hoop earrings and a watch because she
wanted a little more to her style. Her hair was hazelnut brown and straight, down to the bottom of her
shoulder blades, and her shape was slim but tall. This concert, though, had changed one of her
personalities. That was being quiet and shy. Her enthusiasm broke the barrier of shyness and let
through to a world of loud and fun. She was confident and goofy from then

Stanley Cup Research Paper
The Stanley Cup
In every sport there is a dream; for hockey, that is winning the Stanley Cup. The Stanley Cup is the
Holy Grail of hockey. It consists of pure silver and nickel alloy ( Stanley Cup, Wikipedia .). It is a
towering 32.25 inches tall (Podnieks 15.). As one may say after winning the Stanley Cup, It weighs
about 35 pounds, but when held high and proudly above you, it is as light as a feather.
Over the years there have been multiple champions of the Cup that dates as far back as March of 1893
when the Montreal Hockey Club won in the Amateur Hockey Association of Canada ( Amateur
Hockey Association of Canada. ; Montreal Hockey Club. ). Although the current cup is awarded to the
winners of the National Hockey League, the cup was awarded to winners of multiple leagues and has
been given to the winners of two leagues in one year a couple of times.
The Stanley Cup is the greatest honour in hockey. It was brought over to Canada by Frederick Arthur
Stanley. Stanley was born in London, England on January 15th, 1841 ( Frederick Stanley, 16th Earl of
Derby ). In 1888, Stanley was appointed the job of Governor General of Canada and ... Show more

When Stanley became the Governor General of Canada, he and his family moved across the Atlantic

quickly picked up the love for the game of hockey ( Stanley Cup, Wikipedia ). It was at the 1889
Montreal Winter Carnival where Lord Stanley first saw hockey played between the Montreal Victoria

Argumentative Essay On Invasive Species
Humans are faced with the issues caused by invasive species and must make a decision. What should
we do? Should we step in and rid the ecosystems of these harmful species? Or should we let nature
solve its own problem? I believe humans must take action in stopping these invasive plants from
destroying ecosystems, attracting more invasive animals, and harming the native wildlife. By taking
action, people will eliminate the problem in a shorter, more effective manor. One article states, Since
people can now travel around the world much more easily than they ever could before, it has become
easier to introduce invasive species by accident, (Alien Attack, paragraph 5). This demonstrates how
quickly species can spread with the help of humans. People need to eliminate these species faster in
order to save ecosystems. Overall, humans need to remove all invasive species before they take over
the ecosystems of the world. Humans must also take action because the invasive species may attract
more alien animals. The article entitled Pesky Pets states, Now, with no natural predators, goldfish are
rapidly populating in the Vasse River. They are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An article states, If they do manage to survive in the wild, domesticated animals take resources from
native species, (Pesky Pets, paragraph 4). This exemplifies the damage that invasive species cause to
native plants and animals. An invasive plant could poison native animals, which would unbalance the
ecosystem. Some may believe that if humans step in they will cause even more unbalance. However,
this is not a credible statement because those people are not taking account of the amount of
disturbance that will occur if we don t do anything. The amount of damage will be miniscule to the
amount of damage that would be upon the ecosystem if nothing is done. Therefore, humans must take
action before any harm falls upon the native plants and

Effects Of Industrialization
After the civil war, the United States took steps to become a more industrialized country. They wanted
to become more progressive and many people viewed this economic growth as evidence of the
superiority of the American system . The effects industrialization can be seen throughout history
between 1865 and 1914. Industrialization improved the American way of life but also created many
problems for them. The Industrialization transformed humanity s struggle with material scarcity to
expand the production of goods and services. The percentage of 17 year old high school graduates
who graduated with a diploma continued to rise from 1870 to 1910. In 1870, 2% of 17 year olds
graduated by in 1870 but in 1910, 9% of the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were long working hours with small pay and extremely dangerous working conditions. Stephen
Crane writes in In the Depths of a Coal Mine in August 1894 that It has only to tighten slightly, and he
is crushed like a bug....There is an insidious, silent enemy in the gas. If the huge fan wheel on the top
of the earth should stop for a brief period, there is certain death....Meanwhile the miner gets three
dollars per day, and his laborer one dollar and a quarter. Here Crane is only describing the working life
of a coal miner. He discusses how dangerous the job is and how low the pay is. There were no safety
precautions and no safety gear or protection at all. If one small thing went wrong, you had a likely
chance of dying. Many important inventions were being invented at this time which had a profound
impact of the modern life. Thomas Edison invented over 1,000 inventions throughout his life. One of
the most important and well known inventions that changed the American way of life was the
phonograph in 1877. The phonograph was a machine with two needles: one needle was for recording
sounds and the other was for the playback. When Edison would speak into the mouthpiece, the sound
vibrations of his voice would be indented onto the cylinder by the recording needle
(http://www.americaslibrary.gov/aa/edison/aa_edison_phonograph_1.html). It was made to give
entertainment for the people by providing a way of listening to music. The phonograph

To Kill A Mockingbird Education Quotes
READIN and WRITIN in MAYCOMB
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Nelson Mandela.
Education is a necessity to living and to how you do things in general. Without education you wouldn
t know to talk, write, comprehend and spell words. Education changed everything, just think about it,
if you were going to pick up a book and read, how would you know what those words meant, and
what they sounded like? education. Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change
the world. So in Maycomb, Alabama you have the families of the Finches, Cunninghams, Ewells, and
the Black community and this is their education.
The Finches family is well educated, Scout and Jem s dad (Atticus) is an attorney ... Show more

of school is going for the first day of the year and never come back again to school. Burris has had to

Kidnapping Of Lindbergh Kidnapping
Lindbergh Kidnapping Did you know that the kidnapping of a toddler was once considered the Crime
of the Century? Charles Lindbergh was an aviator well known for his transatlantic flight in 1927. He
and his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, lost the life of their son Charles Lindbergh Jr. Due to the
Lindbergh s baby being taken, the next four weeks witnessed the most massive and publicized
manhunt in American History (Campbell 254). The abduction and death of the young Lindbergh baby
singlehandedly helped make kidnapping a federal crime. On Tuesday March 1st, 1932, an intruder
entered the second floor nursery of a newly constructed estate just outside the Sourland Mountain
hamlet of Hopewell and spirited away a 20 month old boy, the son and namesake of the era s most
famous and most revered man, Charles A. Lindbergh (Levy). The pieces of evidence left at the scene
of this crime were a handwritten note demanding $50,000, muddy footprints, and a homemade
wooden ladder. Because the Lindbergh s desperately wanted to see their child again, on April 2nd,
1932, John Condon had delivered the ransom over the fence of St. Raymond s Cemetery after
Lindbergh agreed to pay the money. The hope that Charles Lindbergh Jr. would find his way back to
the diminished on May 12, 1932, two months after the kidnapping. A baby s remains, later to be
recognized as the Lindbergh s child, was found by a trucker s helper in the woods a few miles from
the Lindbergh s residence. The corpse was decaying

Evaluation Of A Research Review
Systematic Research Review
Stephanie Rogers
Chamberlain College of Nursing
NR 505: Advanced Research Methods
September 2016
Systematic Research Review As advancements are made in science and technology that relates to the
care of patients, it is critical for nurses to be aware of the treatments that have been proven to be
evidence based. Systematic research reviews (SRR) are considered to have the highest ranking or level
of evidence falling under level 1 evidence for reliability, validity, and least amount of error (Melnyk
Fineout Overholt, 2015, p.607). The aim of this paper is to critique the chosen SRR related to core
temperature obtainment in children, relevance of the research problem to nursing practice, rigor of the
research found in the SRR to include levels of evidence and designs of included studies, the clarity of
findings, summarized findings in the SRR, and the implications for practice.
Relevance of the Research Problem The proper yet least invasive route to perform the measurement of
a core temperature in children has been an ongoing debate. Common methods or routes include
axillary or in the armpit area, oral, rectal, tympanic, and temporal. Proper temperature measurement
with an accurate result is important for diagnosis and treatment, especially in febrile children. False
positive measurements can lead to extensive and unnecessary diagnostic testing while false negatives
can lead to under treatment in a fragile population, which is why the

Terrorism And The Effect Of Terrorism
Fox News is not a credible source for viewers to watch because they racial profile and scrutinize
minority groups including Muslims. When a white men commit an act of terror, why are they are
never called terrorist? Why does the word terrorist only apply to Muslims? Who can be a terrorist? Is
labeling something an act of terrorism only applied to someone who commits an act of terror? Or is it
only directed towards a specific group of people such as Muslims or brown people who look Muslim?
According to Lydia O Connor, Muslims have faced discrimination and hate for their identity since the
tragic 9/11 terrorist attack. Muslims are specifically targeted because of how the media such as Fox
News defines terrorists . In America, Fox News is one of the largest cable channels in mainstream
media. Millions of viewers are exposed to the redefinition and reframing of terrorism and the labeling
of the word terrorist. Fox News lack of accountability for their misuse of the word terrorist
consequentially contributes to the bias label only applied to Muslims and most brown individuals.
Nearly sixteen years later, Islamophobia has only progressed and the word terrorist became a word
that is only applicable to people of a particular racial or religious identity. The word terrorist is only
used to identify alleged Muslim terrorist not all individuals who commit acts of terror. The term
terrorism has become politicized because it has inspired political action, laws, and

Admission Essay
I write to express my interest in the tenure track appointment in guitar at the assistant or associate
professor level beginning fall 2018 at the Arizona State University School of Music. While I have
taught at a number of institutions, my position at Georgia State University (GSU) has offered the
greatest opportunities for professional growth. Consequently, my discussion of professional activities
will focus primarily on the work I have done in connection with GSU starting in 2012. In this time I
have revitalized a failing guitar program, reinstated its MM performance degree, and created a guitar
chair position within the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) while holding two to three
part time positions and maintaining an active ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have taught Brazilian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, and Pakistani students, among other nationalities,
and have experience working with special needs students. Because the GSU SOM offers degrees in
Music Performance, Music Education, Music Composition, Music Technology, and Music
Management, all of these majors may be in the studio at one time, each with different lesson and
degree requirements. Provided students are able to apply themselves and accept my high expectations,
I am excited to have them and their variety of perspectives and experiences in the studio. My most
impactful endeavor at GSU is the reinstatement of the Master of Music in Guitar Performance degree
which was deactivated in 2000. In the spring of 2015, with the support of the GSU SOM interim
director, I submitted a proposal for reinstatement. The proposal had the honor of being fast tracked by
upper level administration and passed all college and university level committees by December 2015.
Following reinstatement at the university level, I worked closely with my director/dean and graduate
coordinator in successfully petitioning NASM for accreditation. The MM in Guitar Performance
degree accepted students fall 2016 and I was granted a graduate assistant to aid with teaching and
administrative duties. There

  • 2. How Did The Allies Cause Ww1 World War I was a war which really only needed any excuse to get started because of national tensions, fear of imperialism and takeover as well as unresolved disputes from previous conflicts between Germany and its border nations and allies. The excuse for this war or the small spark that lit the huge fire of war and massive bloodshed came from Austria Hungary and Serbia s dispute over how to deal with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. Basically the Austria Hungarian government believed that the Serbian Government was responsible for the assassination and therefore demanded to be involved in the investigation and prosecution inside Serbia. The arms build up was another big cause of World War 1, especially if France was already in a war with Germany prior to World War 1, this was just a small excuse to get Germany right when they didn t expect it. The naval arms race betweeen Germany and Britian was already escalating which made matters worse. Also the spread of nationalism in Southern Eroupe was making was making Austria Hungary unstable. Many onlookers and strategists felt that an armed conflic between the European powers that be was inevitable. • 3. Gfe3 Synthesis In a recent study, researchers report a novel and easy way to hijack the brain s natural processes. This technique, which involves the fusion protein GFE3, interferes with the inhibitory synapses between neurons resulting in an overall rise in the brain s electrical activity. The team, led by Don B. Arnold, professor of biological sciences at the University of Southern California, used GFE3 which is a fusion of two proteins: E3 ligase, which degrades proteins; and FingR, which recognizes and binds to proteins in inhibitory synapses. Arnold explains: Rather than a cell deciding when a protein needs to be degraded, we sort of hijack the process. Synapses can either be excitatory or inhibitory, depending on whether the postsynaptic neuron is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this, they used the zebrafish as an animal model. They created genetically modified zebrafish by injecting the zygotes with the GFE3 construct that was further modified to be expressed only in the spine. Consistent with their earlier results, imaging techniques show the absence of the inhibitory proteins in the spines of the zebrafish. Interestingly, they also found that zebrafish injected with GFE3 had sharply reduced motor coordination described by poor tail flicking motions. Perhaps most remarkably, however, is that the team was able to show that the effects of GFE3 were reversible; something that other similar techniques do not have. The team did this by further modifying GFE3 to be expressed only when the chemical dox is present. When they removed dox, the team observed that GFE3 disappeared and the inhibitory proteins returned. This study represents one of the first few studies that have focused on a protein centric approach to controlling neurons and synapses. According to Arnold, further studies could contribute to therapies and drugs predicated on the ability to finely tune the brain. This is especially useful in diseases caused by altered brain chemistry like schizophrenia and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Technology s Impact on Relationships New technology can ruin relationships completely if people lack communication skills. Why would someone want to get to know someone without being face to face? What would they talk about when they are together? The relationship would become dull and boring; there is no way to avoid that. Communication is key; being able to use body language and tones in your voice so people won t get the wrong idea is impossible over the Internet. Everyone has been in a situation when texting someone, and he or she says something that comes off offensive, and you are completely put off, and feel like you are put in an awkward situation. That rarely happens when you re able to read people face to face . Long distance relationships can be very successful using technology if people take advantage of the newer video chatting. My boyfriend lives in Mississippi, and I live here in Texas, but we see each other at least once a day or more. It s like he isn t in another state most of the time. Communication is key; if a relationship has no real communication then what is it? We started dating in high school when we could see each other as much as we wished; but then he left for Ole Miss. I was scared at first that this long distance would ruin us, but I couldn t have been more wrong. The Current Rating System in the United States Essay English 122 12 1 11 The Current Rating System in the United States The current content rating system in use for film, the MPAA, is the only content rating system that is legally enforced in the United States. For this reason, the system has caused controversy. Many have claimed that the system is unbalanced, as the MPAA bases the level of appropriate content for all people in the United States off of the opinions of an unidentified council of people over the age of forty (Jenkins). The stance on how the system s effectiveness is a relative stance, however, the secondhand effects of the system are obvious and existing today. This type of butterfly effect that the rating system has on films is evident: the attempt to block off certain age limits to harsh types of content has ultimately put pressure on artists to limit types of ways to tell a story in mainstream film. In the interview with filmmaker Kirby Dick on this subject, the interviewer asks him about the topic of sexuality in film, MPAA s stance on sexuality, and how Dick represented these ideas presented in his film. Dick stated, Allison Anders makes the very interesting point that in some ways the ratings system is more restrictive of sexuality now than it was in the Sixties and Seventies. I think there are a number of reasons. Perhaps to some degree society has shifted slightly. Film studios were making some money from films that were more sexually provocative, like Midnight Cowboy. But, then again, you have to realize that the studios benefit from the system s coming down hard on films, especially on independent films about adult sexuality. To begin with, who makes those films? Independents and foreign filmmakers make those films, and that s the studios competition. So they restrict it. It s not much competition, but it does make a difference. Jt also makes it appear like the Rating Jioard is doing its job as censors, as raters, doing their job, and doesn t pay attention to the fact that all these films about violence are slipping through unencumbered by a rating. This creates a mismatching of assets and liabilities because typically banks use deposits and issuance of debts as a provision of loans. And both of them have shorter period of maturity then banks lending especially cars and mortgages loans. Since the bank started to use securities backed by assets or in other words it started to transfer the ownership of the assets to SPVs, the great opportunities have began widely available for the bank. In just is about how little children go running to a balloonman. His whistles draw them closer to him and they stop whatever they are doing to heed to his calling. He likes to play with the spacing in between words and sentences that help the meaning of the poem and the balloonman. Cummings uses many elements of poetry and describes the balloonman that has many theories to his purpose in the poem. First, the balloonman appears several times in the poem In Just . (The Dream of a Ridiculous Man , p. 382) One of greatest evils for Dostoevsky are the so called liberals who love humanity more than an individual man. Yet he does not represent their behavior as genuinely evil . Their hate towards humanity arises exactly from the opposite: love. Secular humanists see so much evil, crime and inhumanity, they cannot stop it so they rebel. Ivan Karamazov and his rebellion are purely of that kind. He is not vile, he just cannot understand that there might be a solution for such suffering, especially in the case of children who are innocent in Christianity. That is why Ivan asks: Love life more than the meaning of it? (II, 3) Ivan as any average intellectual, wants to know. • 15. Reflection Paper On Time Management DESCRIPTION Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management starts with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time. When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study. Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by month, week and then by the task are the main tools to get organized using time management. The Effects of Memory Improvement by Saying Words Aloud THE EFFECTS OF MEMORY IMPROVEMENT BY SAYING WORDS ALOUD Abstract This experiment proposes to study the effects of memory improvement by reciting and saying the words out loud to oneself. Participants will be assigned to either two different types of conditions and will then be required to recall the information of words as best as they can. It is assumed that a higher level of generating the targeted words into memory is improved when readers say the words out loud to themselves. Thus, the hypothesis concluded is that people who say words out loud after reading them are expected to improve their memory in retaining information. However, recent research done by Reynolds amp; Besner (2008) suggests that contrary to the view that by vocalizing words out loud is entirely an automatic memory encoding, it in fact requires some form of attention. Previous research was investigated further where participants were exposed to reading lexicon and pseudo homophones aloud that required the use of central attention. In research done by Blais amp; Besner (2007), repetition of words of lexical representations suggests longer persistence in the early memory processing, as cited by Reynolds amp; Malley (2008). It was discussed earlier that possibly the mere action of vocalizing words for memory recall will encourage memory improvement at a higher level, thus making a person to be able to better retrieve previous information if need be (Macleod et al., 2010). In another study, Kappel, Harfard, Burns amp; Anderson, (1973) gave another possible explanation on the advantage of reading words out loud, indicating that serial voiced recall were found to be superior for the later positions, and these results replicates previous experiments done by Murray (1966) and Conrad amp; Hull (1968). Under that umbrella we discussed the differences between the two, the victims they may attack, the reasons why they kill, personal backgrounds, and explanations to why they kill. At the end of this course we were asked to pick a type of killer and explain what it is we learned from them. For this paper I chose to talk about serial killers. The killers I chose to discuss are Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka but we will get to them later on. Neither killer had a criminal record prior to their convictions stated above. I classified each serial killer as both organized and disorganized. • 20. The Seven Steps Of A Healthy Organization At the beginning of doing my research I was not sure what Organizational culture was. In fact, I thought it some kind of innocuous entity with no real meaning at all, but I now know that it is so much more than that. Organizational culture is a companies back bone that determines the type of organization that it will be and what it values above all else. It also determines if it will have a healthy organizational culture or not and with it a great company can be constructed or demolished. The seven steps of a healthy or unhealthy organizational culture can be found in any company whether it be in public or private sectors. The difference and important part is how a company implements these stages, in using these seven stages with deliberate purpose and putting in the effort necessary an organization can keep a healthy culture within it. Nevertheless, if an organization just leaves its culture and let it become what it may then anything can happen but without constant care and forethought it is likely not to work out for the best. In both healthy and unhealthy culture there are seven key factors that make them distinguishable to the outside or inside observer. The first is innovation and risk a company that encourages its employees to take risks and think of new innovative ways to do things is well on its way to having a healthy organizational culture. • 22. Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet Essay Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet Follow her close, give her good watch, I pray you (IV.5.73). Ostensibly, Shakespeare s Hamlet is the riddling, enigmatic, inscrutable theatrical character par excellence. His motives, madness, conflicting morals and existential struggles are ambiguous to say the least. When analysing his character, Laertes and Fortinbras are often brought in as examples of less extreme characters dealing with similar but more tangible dilemmas. The idea that there may be someone who exceeds Hamlet in instability and incomprehensibility is unfathomable. This, in turn, juxtaposed against Polonius demand to possess full access to their relationship, creates a disturbing picture of a young woman s complete lack of privacy. The very language Polonius uses, Give me up the truth (I.3.98) implies surrender. The fact that the word truth, is used to describe what she is meant to give up, loads the demand to breaking point. But Ophelia is not only fenced in and loaded down. She also lacks the capacity to act, so that even if she were released from her confines, she would be at a loss with what to do with her freedom. Sexuality in Aubrey Beardsley s Story of Venus and Tannhäuser Aubrey Beardsley wrote The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser during the fin de siècle, the end of the Victorian Era. This decadent work, following Baudelaire s credo art for art s sake first of all, portrays sex and sexualities in a playful manner. In addition to mocking conventional Victorian moral codes, and parodying pornographic conventions, The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser also supports Foucault s idea that the Victorian Era witnessed a diffusion of sexualities. The Story of Venus and Tannhäuser was originally toned down and modified for publication in 1897 in The Savoy, a magazine that Beardsley served as art editor, under the title of Under The Hill. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beardsley s readers were not to be of the common society; rather they had to be well educated sophisticates to understand his work. Another pornographic convention that Beardsley broke was that the characters had personalities and functions in addition to sexual roles says Zatlin (119). Also, they did not have unlimited sexual energy, rather Tannhäuser was rather relieved when, an hour later, Priapusa and Doricourt and some others burst drunkenly into the room and claimed Venus for themselves (Beardsley 34). With the diverse accounts of sexualities and the breaking of almost all of the prerequisites for erotic writing and pornography of the Victorian Era, Beardsley wrote a truly decadent manuscript that defied the conventions of mainstream literature. Whether Beardsley would have completed the tale had he lived longer, or had meant to leave it as is, an unending piece of work, is unknown. What is known is that Venus and Tannhäuser functions only as a piece of art for art s sake defying the social conventions that were applied to other works of that time. Works Cited Beardsley, Aubrey. These rules designate that a paralegal is a person with education, training or work experience, who works under the direction of a member of The Florida Bar and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a member of The Florida Bar is responsible. Screwtape shows clever subtlety in tempting patients to self centeredness in prayers through feelings and images, to gluttony through delicacy, and to pride through membership in an elite Christian social circle. Screwtape uses many, seemingly good, things to manipulate his patients. Lewis uses this as an illustration of how easily humans can fall into temptation. Most readers miss the symbols the first time reading through the work and they don t get it until someone teaches them or if they read it again, sometimes the symbols are hard to detect in the story or poem, and other times they can be super easy to find such as a giant red A on your chest. • 38. Dbq Essay On Sweatshops Sweatshops are factories that are used around the world that major brand companies use to make products. These factories have gained media attention and controversy for the long hours and low pay given to the workers. Many people say to boycott these factories because of the latter reasons, but consumers shouldn t boycott companies that make sweatshop products. The first reason consumers shouldn t boycott these products would be people actually deliberately take these jobs because in developing countries most jobs don t pay that much. The second reason consumers shouldn t boycott sweatshop products would be that it allows a lot of people in the developing worlds to rise out of poverty. To summarize, consumers do not have the ethical responsibility to boycott products made in sweatshops. As stated in the previous paragraph, people actually take these jobs willingly because in ... However, this doesn t apply to every sweatshop just a few and most people that work at sweatshop factories taking these jobs willingly and were confused as to why people wanted to shut down their workplaces as stated in an interview with some sweatshop workers in China. Another main point of their argument is that conditions in these factories are abusive and horrible. However, again many people take these jobs willingly meaning that they really don t care about these conditions because they need money. Finally they believe that boycotting sweatshops will do something good for the world. In the video it makes a very good point that at least sweatshops are doing something to end global poverty while the people who are trying to boycott these sweatshops may think they are doing something but in reality they aren t doing anything to help end global ... • 41. Argumentative Essay On Invasive Species Humans are faced with the issues caused by invasive species and must make a decision. What should we do? Should we step in and rid the ecosystems of these harmful species? Or should we let nature solve its own problem? I believe humans must take action in stopping these invasive plants from destroying ecosystems, attracting more invasive animals, and harming the native wildlife. By taking action, people will eliminate the problem in a shorter, more effective manor. One article states, Since people can now travel around the world much more easily than they ever could before, it has become easier to introduce invasive species by accident, (Alien Attack, paragraph 5). This demonstrates how quickly species can spread with the help of humans. People need to eliminate these species faster in order to save ecosystems. Overall, humans need to remove all invasive species before they take over the ecosystems of the world. Humans must also take action because the invasive species may attract more alien animals. This exemplifies the damage that invasive species cause to native plants and animals. An invasive plant could poison native animals, which would unbalance the ecosystem. Some may believe that if humans step in they will cause even more unbalance. However, this is not a credible statement because those people are not taking account of the amount of disturbance that will occur if we don t do anything. The amount of damage will be miniscule to the amount of damage that would be upon the ecosystem if nothing is done. Therefore, humans must take action before any harm falls upon the native plants and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He and his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, lost the life of their son Charles Lindbergh Jr. Due to the Lindbergh s baby being taken, the next four weeks witnessed the most massive and publicized manhunt in American History (Campbell 254). The abduction and death of the young Lindbergh baby singlehandedly helped make kidnapping a federal crime. On Tuesday March 1st, 1932, an intruder entered the second floor nursery of a newly constructed estate just outside the Sourland Mountain hamlet of Hopewell and spirited away a 20 month old boy, the son and namesake of the era s most famous and most revered man, Charles A. Lindbergh (Levy). The pieces of evidence left at the scene of this crime were a handwritten note demanding $50,000, muddy footprints, and a homemade wooden ladder. Because the Lindbergh s desperately wanted to see their child again, on April 2nd, 1932, John Condon had delivered the ransom over the fence of St. Raymond s Cemetery after Lindbergh agreed to pay the money. Systematic research reviews (SRR) are considered to have the highest ranking or level of evidence falling under level 1 evidence for reliability, validity, and least amount of error (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2015, p.607). Relevance of the Research Problem The proper yet least invasive route to perform the measurement of a core temperature in children has been an ongoing debate. Common methods or routes include axillary or in the armpit area, oral, rectal, tympanic, and temporal. Proper temperature measurement with an accurate result is important for diagnosis and treatment, especially in febrile children. When a white men commit an act of terror, why are they are never called terrorist? Why does the word terrorist only apply to Muslims? Who can be a terrorist? Is labeling something an act of terrorism only applied to someone who commits an act of terror? Or is it only directed towards a specific group of people such as Muslims or brown people who look Muslim? According to Lydia O Connor, Muslims have faced discrimination and hate for their identity since the tragic 9/11 terrorist attack. Muslims are specifically targeted because of how the media such as Fox News defines terrorists . In America, Fox News is one of the largest cable channels in mainstream media. Millions of viewers are exposed to the redefinition and reframing of terrorism and the labeling of the word terrorist. Fox News lack of accountability for their misuse of the word terrorist consequentially contributes to the bias label only applied to Muslims and most brown individuals. Nearly sixteen years later, Islamophobia has only progressed and the word terrorist became a word that is only applicable to people of a particular racial or religious identity.
