The Theory Of Child Rearing
1. Dr. John Watson, in his advocation in favor of nurture stated essentially, as we had discussed in
some of our class sessions, that his approach to child rearing would have a direct impact on outcomes.
It could be argued that child rearing is the one thing that could counter cultural influences as being
more impactful. We discussed closed cultures such as those from the east where members work in a
collectivist way to benefit society as a whole. Then we have the individualist societies similar to the
western cultures where individual achievement for self is considered to be of more value. Which I
believe contributes more to selfishness and an over emphasis on the aspects of I. This also takes me
back to the behavior modification class I had as an undergraduate. That there are certain ways to
behave in different social settings that may be presented to us on a daily basis. Such as we all behave
differently in a social settings such as, school, work, home, the mall, etc.. Behaviors in one location
may be acceptable but not another location. A good example would be that you can walk around naked
in the privacy of your own home but not at school. While a closed, collectivist culture may look down
upon what they may perceive as negative behaviors of those in their group, other outsiders from other
cultures may be given some slack because they don t know proper behavior, even if they are trying.
Those from these collectivist societies that travel to the west cannot

Pakistan s Heartland Under Threat By John Lancaster
The epicenter of Pakistani culture is in danger. Punjab is a region that spans from Pakistan to India, is
about the size of the U.S. state of Wyoming, contains over half of Pakistan s population, and is home
to an immense amount of Pakistani culture. One particular city in Punjab, Lahore, is described as
Pakistan s cultural capital. Islamic extremists known as the Taliban are now trying to dismantle the so
called cultural capital in hopes of assuming control of the country. Over the past couple of years, the
Taliban have assaulted the province with waves of terrorism. The National Geographic Magazine
article titled Pakistan s Heartland Under Threat is about author John Lancaster s adventure into the
Pakistani province with the objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article directly relates to the topic of religion because it deals with the Taliban, an Islamic
extremist group. Extremist groups usually consist of religious fundamentalists, or followers of a
religion that strictly believe in the core values of their specific religion. Religion is a component of
what makes up culture, so the article connects with it as well. The culture of the Punjab province and
the culture of Pakistan entirely is what drives this article, so it is correct to think that culture is an
obvious connection between this article and the field of human

Al-Nakba 1948 Research Paper
Cut Out the Suffering
The year of Al Nakba 1948 was a critical year that affected the life of millions of Palestinians. In this
year, Palestinians were forced to immigrate to neighboring countries. Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria
contain a major number of Palestinian refugees; with the number of Palestinians in Lebanon doubling
because the war in Syria drove them there (Alwani, 2015). However, other Palestinians were able to
migrate into European countries, while others went to Arab gulf countries. Furthermore, unless the
Palestinians got the nationality of the country they live in they do not have but foreign civilian rights.
Palestinian refugees who live in Lebanon for more than 10 years should be granted the Lebanese
nationality to overcome the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, in Canada, the laws do not oblige the politicians to be of a specific sect or religion.
Maryam Monsef, an Islamic Canadian, of Afghan origins, was elected to represent the state of
Peterborough in Canada in 2015; Harjit Singh Sajjan, of Indian origins, baptized as a Sikh, is the
Minister of National Defense of Canada. These are examples of politicians from one of the most
industrialized and advanced countries that do not restrict political positions for specific people that
belong to a particular sect or religion. This fact that Canada has this variety in their regime did not
affect their progress; on the contrary, this is thought to be a kind of development and enhancement to
their political system. As can be seen, preventing Palestinians form gaining the Lebanese nationality is
not the solution to prevent the imbalance in the system from arising; the problem is in the sectarian
regime which tightens the chances of development for both the Lebanese and the Palestinian

Difference Between Rsa And Mvp Classification Analysis And...
1.1 What is representational similarity analysis?
Representational similarity analysis (RSA) is an analysis framework builds on a rich
psychological and mathematical literature, in which multi channel measures of neural activity
are quantitatively related to each other and to computational theory and behavior by comparing
RDMs. RDM is the representational dissimilarity matrix, which contains a cell for each pair of
experimental conditions. Each cell is a number reflecting the dissimilarity between the activity
patterns associated with the two conditions. The core of the of RSA is to use RDM as a signature
of the representations in brain regions and computational models (Kriegeskorte, Mur,
Bandettini, 2008).
1.2 The differences between RSA and MVP classification analysis and the new information
that can be obtained from representational similarity analysis that is not revealed by MVP
classification or univariate analysis.
RSA is a particular versatile version of MVPA. It goes beyond testing of information in
regional response patterns and enables researchers to handle condition rich experiments without
predefined stimulus categories, to test conceptual and computational models, and to relate
representations between humans and monkeys, and even to related across different types of brain
activity measurements.
1.2.1 Major differences:
1) MVP classification analysis focus on the representations of the brain associated with

The Relevance Of An Organization
An organization is a group of individuals with a specific purpose, normally a business, association or
society. Knowledge refers to truth, data, and expertise that an individual gets through education or
experiences; the practical or theoretical understanding of a discipline. In other terms, knowledge refers
to the familiarity or awareness gained through experience of a situation or a fact. This paper is going
to give a brief documentation regarding the relevance that knowledge has in an organization.
According to Popsa and Nicula, knowledge is directly proportional to the competence of employees
working in a firm. It is, therefore, true to say that the more knowledge employers have they will try to
ingrain in their workers minds, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The progression of knowledge within any given organization, be it in the production of goods or the
issuance of services to customers, is the most thought provoking element in business. Herein, the
comprehension of knowledge in an organization is considered by different measures of any projects
being undertaken. More so, this is achieved through clarification with regard to consultation and
development measures within the organization. These are very direct initiatives geared towards the
promotion of knowledge realization in a firm. There is also a need for employers, in the quest of
making their employees knowledgeable, to train, counsel and encourage employees to conduct
detailed research on their roles. It plays a significant role towards employee attainment of knowledge.
All the same, the associated processes are usually indirect. For instance, the training of employees in
an organization is not a guarantee that whatever is learned will be applied. For knowledge based
organizations, it is paramount for managers to bear in mind that promotion towards knowledge
realization is charted through the classification of implemented projects and assigned tasks.
Significant thematic issues, like development of learning at the workplace, are

White Man s Burden Speech Summary
In the speech Effects of colonialism of Africa s past and present Dr. Motsoko Pheko believes that
colonization of Africa was unhealthy for Africa. Europeans made Africa worse than what it was, they
treated Africa as a money making place and didn t care if they had to kill people in order to do so.For
example, Pheko states Africa has suffered the worst genocide and holocaust at the hands of the
architects of slavery and colonialism (Pheko). This example of pathos demonstrates that Africans have
been treated unfairly throughout the years. Europeans have tried to demolish Africa and tear into it as
a toy, Africa s colonization turned Africa into a subhuman country. The use of the word worst
genocide appeals to emotion by showing that Europeans treated Africans as less than human. Therefore
Pheko uses pathos to advance his view that colonialism is unhealthy for Africa. ... Show more content

Was Alexander Great Or Not Great Dbq Essay
Alexander was an outstanding ruler of Greece in his short amount of years that he ruled. Alexander
became king when he was only 20 years old and after his father Philip was assassinated in 336 B.C.E.
(BGE). Alexander was Creative, also how he made some remarkable achievements and how he had
concern for others. Was Alexander Great or Not Great? Three reasons that show that are his empire

adapted many other cultures to his empire. First, Alexander stood out from many other rulers because
of his 2,000,000 sq. miles of conquered land. Evidence of the is Size of Alexander s empire at his

Another remarkable achievement that Alexander had was he found an astonishing number of cities

Edvard Munch s The Scream
The 1893 painting The Scream , painted by Edvard Munch is very captivating. This painting makes
me feel the true emotion Edvard is feeling. At first, I see the dark dull colours in the gloomy scenery
but then I can look past that and see such a warm fiery red orange sky. I love the details in this panting
from the people in the background to the organic strokes of the paintbrush exhibiting a different shade
with every stroke. However, I cannot help but wonder why? Why is this human screaming or are they
human? Maybe it is a representation of someone s inner demon or thoughts just shouting to get out. In
spite of that, I think not knowing the true meaning of this painting is the beauty of it.
There are many elements/principles of art shown in this painting. The painting is filled with many
wavy smooth lines that help signify the movement of the water. The use of complementary colours in
the background help emphasis the focal point, the screaming person. I think this painting is a cry for
help; the person screaming is a representation of the Edvard Munch. He ... Show more content on

Edvard Munch actually created four different versions of this painting using different materials. In
addition, the original copy of the scream has been a target of various high profile art thefts. Munch
discovered his inspiration for this painting while walking along the road with two friends...the sky
turned blood red...I stood there trembling with anxiety...I sensed an infinite scream passing through
nature. After learning the inspiration for this painting, this piece intrigues me even more. I feel that
Munch expressed his ideas very well you can really see the anxiety he felt when he saw the blood red
sky and scream of nature he heard. I think that most people would interpret this panting as sad or
fearful however, that does not mean that everyone s perception will be the same. I think the most
fascinating part of this piece is that everyone can view it in a different

Making The Hummingbird Robots
As a team, David, Mackenzie, Lilly and I worked together to create a robot. The goal of our robot was
to pick a penny up off of the table and place it in the box with just a click of a button. The materials
used were cardboard and scrap metal, which we used to build a majority of the robot. To make the
robot function we used the Hummingbird Robotics Kit. We used duct tape to make the penny sticky so
it was able to be picked up. My group worked very hard for this robot to work. A few problems we
faced with the robot was how big of a piece of tape to use to pick up the penny and what kind of tape
to use, and with the timing of how much string to rotate back and forth for the string to move and how
much to make it turn. With the website we had to use to program the robot we couldn t say turn left or

penny was going in, but she also made the little piece that we put tape on that grabbed the penny. I
believe that everyone in my group deserves a 100. We all worked together well and we made the robot
work. We were able to give ideas and solve for the problems that occurred during the design process
of building our robot. The parts of the robot I was responsible for building was the centerpiece. I also
built the piece that held the other motor and the spool off the ground so it would be able to spin. Our
goal was to pick the penny up off of the table and put it in the box. We couldn t do anything but

Someone in the Backseat- Creative Writing Essay
Driving through torrential rain was very torturous. The rain thumped on the bonnet and the wind
whistled along the curves of the car. The trees were waving frantically in the wind as if to attract the
attention of passing cars. Like the night, the winding country road grew longer and longer, darker and
darker with every passing hour. The bright headlights pushed back the darkness, which immediately
returned to haunt the rear of the car. The darkness seeps into the car and hangs heavily over the back
seat.

She stops the car in the garage yard and notices a light coming from a shack in one corner of the yard.
Natalie winds down her window and shouts for attention in the direction of the shack. No reply.
Natalie puts on her coat and gloves and gets out of the car. The yard is wet and muddy and she notices
numerous dark cabins lining the yard. She goes over to the cabin with the light on and knocks on the
door. No answer. She bangs harder with the bottom of her fist. Again no answer. She tries the handle.
There is a click and the door opens slightly. Hello, hello, is anybody there ? No reply. She pushes the
door wide open. The door opens with the most painful creaking sound. Natalie steps into the room and
the overpowering damp smell forces her to immediately put her hands over her mouth and nose.
The inside of the cabin was bigger than it looked from the outside. There was a single dirty lightbulb

Netflix vs. Blockbuster
Introduction Blockbuster opened in 1985 and in its first 20 years of business, the movie rental giant
opened 9.100 stores in 25 countries (Laudon, 2007, p. 121). Netflix launched in 1998 using a new
business model and became Blockbusters biggest threat. The paradigm shift in the rental industry from
having to travel to a store and rent a movie to being able to have a movie delivered to your mailbox
changed the way people think about media entertainment. The next shift will be having the technology
to download movies and shows directly to a television.

traditional retail store with a physical location focused on creating ... Show more content on

Alternatives One of the biggest information technology hurdles that Blockbuster has to overcome is
the two separate systems dividing the online service and the physical stores. While not as convenient
as being able to order a movie from the comfort of your home and having it upload on the TV, if
Blockbuster integrates the two systems it will be an advantage to the overall strategy. Microsoft and
Netflix have unveiled a partnership under which Netflix will stream movies directly to consumers
through Microsoft s Internet based Xbox Live service (McDougall, 2008). This strategy goes along
with Netflix s original agenda: to increase customer convenience. Anyone who is a Netflix subscriber
and has an Xbox will be able to stream movies in the company library. This service should launch in
the autumn of 2008.
Closing While Blockbuster is trying to remain true to its origins and keep its core competence of a
physical video rental store, the future seems to be in the roles of companies able to cater to consumer s
busy life styles and need for convenience. Netflix, along with Apple and video on demand, is working
to make ordering movies and TV shows as simple and fast as possible. Blockbuster needs to create a
strategy that keeps at the front of the movie rental technology if it doesn t want to lose customers to
the convenience of not having to leave their homes.

Causes And Effects Of Video Games
1 LastName Name Course Professor 5 December 2017 Video Game Addiction and Its Harmful Effects
Playing video games is a pastime that many children enjoy. It has been found that National surveys of
American youth ages 8 to 18 by the Kaiser Family Foundation ... found that in 2005, 49% of children
had a game console in their bedroom (Olson et al. 55). From this information, it can be assumed that
after school about half of the children come home and start playing video games. The duration of time
that children play these video games varies. In recent times it is estimated that, ...adolescent girls
played video games for an average of 5 h a week whereas boys averaged 13 h a week. (Gentile et al.
5). Gaming, therefore, has become more than just a fun activity, it has become an addiction. Addiction
can be defined as ... with an uncontrollable urge, often accompanied by a loss of control, a
preoccupation with use, and a desire to continue with the activity even though it creates problems
(Skoric et al. 568). These children feel the need to play video games, and it is taking over their lives.
This addiction to video games impacts many aspects of a child s life. As a result of this addiction,
video games cause difficulties at school, detrimental impact to relationships and teenage development.
There has been a link between poor school performance and difficulties at school with high usage of

Risk Assessment Of Software And Mobile Application
Abstract
This is completed after the first final draft has been completed
The rate of technology changes is faster than ever. The new cutting edge technologies in software
world solve many problems and make our life easy. At the same time, they provide many unseen risk.
We need to ensure that steps taken and technology used to build software or mobile application do not
create additional risk in future. Most risk analysis process is based on theoretical concept to identify
and assesses the risk. In this paper we analysis two formula based risk analysis approaches in mobile
and software application namely WHYPER framework and DempsterSchafer theory.

Software and mobile applications are integral part of everyday life. With globalization, the 24x7
accessibility of data has increased the threat of data loss because attackers are always ready to steal
your data. Software that we are using, internet banking using a network, a smart phone that we use for
calling and texting, storing data at cloud etc involves risk.
Data is a big factor of risk in software and mobile usage. Many researchers investigated lifecycle of
risk analysis and risk management. With the growing technology in mobile and software applications
the traditional risk management does not solve all the problems associated with modern security
attacks. Many small scale organizations do not implement the risk lifecycle for software or mobile
application because implementing risk assessment is costly.
As a result, not only the organizations which have developed the applications the individual who use
them can fall prey to attackers. The IT organization as well as customer poses a great risk.
In risk analysis my primary goal is to identify the sources of risk, impact of risk as well as assessing
these risks in software and mobile application devices from organization to individual level. The next
step is to estimate the uncertainty and complete the risk analysis model.
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to study the risk analysis and risk management of software and
mobile device

At Mornington, A Poem by Gwen Harwood
Memorable ideas are evident in Harwood s poetry. In her poem, At Mornington , she considers the
philosophical idea that the passing of time leads to gaining of wisdom. Harwood shows that growth
and development are a critical part of defining our individuality. She has effectively used poetic
techniques such as construction; vivid imagery and the context of her own life to explore this idea and
contributed to the textual integrity of the piece. External contextual readings and values of the poem
have illuminated the significance of the piece in asserting the value of friendship and relationships,
and presented various ideas such as the inevitability of death, the significance that past events and
memories play in shaping present perception as well as the defining of individuality through growth
and development. Together, this contributes to the memorability of the poem. At Mornington is variant
in structure; it is linear, circular and episodic, containing recurring motifs. The lack of a rhyme scheme
displays the train of thought nature of the poem, presenting the poem as a reflective journey for the
persona. Experiences with family and friends are tied with the poem, starting with a first witnessing of
the sea and then introspectively reflecting on water, memory and death. The episodic recollection of
the sea displays the personas reliance on memories to convey changes in perspective. Thoughts of
mortality are developed during a meeting among avenues of the dead with

William Shakespeare s The Prince And Julius Caesar
Texts are a reflection of its contextual values; it is evident that aspects of human nature remain

The values and attitudes of these two texts anticipated responders and influenced purpose, form and

Machiavelli suggests that the most supreme approach to change the degenerate individual into a
decent individual is through the good law, although even the best law is pointless. Machiavelli
characterizes man as being self serving and not willing to act in the best interest of the state, and when

by stating, Men worry less about doing an injury to one who makes himself loved than to one who
makes himself feared . To acquire honour, Machiavelli suggests that a prince must be readily willing
to deceive the citizens. These treacherous measures would bring the prince honour and trust among the
citizen, suggesting that man s nature is changeless, which is exemplified in Shakespeare s Julius

Mark Antony in Julius Caesar abandoned Caesar as soon as he is killed and to seek his own glory.

certain. Once in a while the thought repeated itself that it was very cold and the he had never
experienced such cold. As he walked along he rubbed his face and nose with the back of his mittened
hand. He did this without thinking, frequently changing hands. But, with all his rubbing, the instant he
stopped, his face and nose became numb. His face would surely be frozen. He knew that and he was
sorry that he had not worn the sort of nose guard Bud wore when it was cold. Such a guard passed
across the nose and covered the entire face. But it did not matter much, he decided. What was a little
frost? A bit painful, that was all. It was never serious. (London 68) Comparing the man with his own
dog, the reader is able to see a massive difference between the the master and pet. The man isn t
worried in the slightest about the weather causing any sort of damage to his own health. On the other
hand, the dog s instincts are at full capacity alarming the dog that it is extremely dangerous to be in
this type of weather, and

Why We Need The TSA Essay
After the events of 09/11/2001 the Department of Homeland security was founded and within the
department fell a new agency known as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA
was instructed to secure all modes of transportation and they committee was instructed that they
wanted to see result soon. Additionally the Aviation and Transportation Security Act required the
screening of passengers, cargo and luggage for explosives as the primary priority. Even though the
TSA is charged with the transportation security the primary focus has been Airport security. Long
lines, arriving two hours early to your flight are all after effects of improved security. Are these
security measures worth the waits and inconvenient or should ... Show more content on

The current screening method is the body scanner which has been reported on multiple times by the
news as it is consider invasive in nature. The screener is able to see the passenger s nude image, but
software updates have eliminated this providing only detection of metallic and nonmetallic threats.
The prior method of a metal detector which did not alarm staff if nonmetallic threats existed allowed
C 4 explosive (a clay type of explosive) to board the plan. The body scanners are quicker than the
former methods of a pat down , which every passenger had to endure and were less invasive. This
system will be used by the TSA until a better method is discovered, which will provide faster
screening, more privacy to passengers and better detection of threats. The cost of this has rising over
the years but it was the initial setup of the TSA in 2002 which cost the most since there was not an
agency within this realm that completed these duties.
Security costs at airports have increased because of Transportation Security Administration operations.
It has also resulted in numerous passenger delays and additional cost. People likely are spending
thousands, if not millions, of hours at airports, which results in loss of productivity. (Gaines Kappeler,
2012) The initial cost of setting up a security screening area that the airports was $6.8 billon

Essay on The Modern Relevance of Themes in James Joyce s...
James Joyce is widely considered to be one of the best authors of the 20th century. One of James
Joyce s most celebrated short stories is Eveline. This short story explores the theme of order and
hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore, the
themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but are just as
relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In society, the
idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote popular sayings such
as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this belief. Contrary, the idea of
taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These readers
do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a sympathetic
character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very fortuitous, and therefore
hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave Dublin. Other critics of
Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This argument is based on the idea that
Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a female character, in this case Eveline.
Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of Eveline that some would say furthers the
case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines
of intellect women: by curves of emotion (Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one
could be viewed as chauvinistic. Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for
debate, but one could definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s
criticism of life in Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin
was covered above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to
make a better life for themselves. Joyce is perhaps critical of this trend to not settle for the norm

Why The Longview Drug Education Program Should Have A...
The researcher will use the population of Longview, Missouri to collect the data for this program
evaluation. The current population will be pulled from seven public schools and three private schools.
The population will be approximately 4,000 students from public and private schools on the Longview
area. The methods that will be used to collect this data will be the use of a survey, focus groups, and
historical data collected from local law enforcement and the board of education. The data will be
collected pre program implementation and post implementation for comparison purposes. The
researcher s direction of this study is to develop sample sizes that will represent the population of
students in grades K 12th grades. The methodology used to identify this population will be purposive
sampling. Purposive sampling is when a researcher picks the participants on purpose, as they are
considered the most appropriate for the study. As noted earlier, the purpose of this study is to
determine whether the Longview Drug Education program will have a positive or negative impact on
students drug use. Therefore, participants must be in the city of Longview school system and be in
grades K 12th grade. Due to the time restraints and cost issue, the survey will be only distributed to
the children meeting the earlier criteria. The survey will include question pertaining the objectives of
the program. For the purpose of this evaluation, the researcher elected to do web based survey.

How Does Truck Financing Affect Interest Rates
Truck Finance: What Factors Affects Interest Rates
The best truck financing eventually means that you have to pay low interest rates and low monthly
payments. Trucking businesses that do not ensure that they obtain the best deal on their loans could
face difficulties in generating profits if the majority of their revenue has to spent on loan repayment.
The optimum way to avoid this phenomenon is to develop a concrete plan before availing truck
financing.
Truck owners personal credit is equally important as their business credit to future lenders. Careful
and thorough planning effectively means that these business owners will require receiving their
personal credit reports and business credit reports to ensure that there are no goof ups on them that
may contribute to lowering their credit scores. If such mistakes appear on credit reports, business
owners can have them eliminated before a lender checks these reports. It is vital that ... Show more

Truck financing that is eventually requesting the truck s full purchase price puts the lender at 100% of
the risk. When truck owners agree to take a substantial amount of the risk from the eventual lender,
the latter rewards these clients with lower interest rates. Loans obtained at low rates of interests do not
take too long to pay off, and they allow truck owners to obtain a profit sooner in comparison with
paying high interest payments.
When truck owners are in the process of buying trucks, they can take the opportunity to effectively
become pre qualified for their truck financing. When they successfully do this, they ultimately know
what interest rates lenders would be offering as well as the terms that they may be able to obtain.
When they decide to purchase trucks with this knowledge, they can quickly compare their pre
qualified deals to the ones that the financing company are

Becoming an Effective Practitioner
Becoming an Effective Practitioner
Giving quality care and support to patients, relatives and service users is very important as the
treatment they receive (NHS, 2013). It is important for patients and service users to have positive
experience in the healthcare settings, making sure they are cared for compassionately, respecting and
maintain their dignity at all times (Ellis, 2010; Royal College of Nursing (RCN) (2006). This essay
focuses on validity of a qualitative research studies. The aim is to use CASP Tool to critique a research
article Exploring patients self reported experiences of out of hours primary care and their suggestions
for improvement: a qualitative study by Poole et al (2011) chosen from the National Health Service
(NHS) frame work (2013) domain 4 (Ensuring people have a positive experience of care).
Furthermore, CASP will be use to critic this article to know if users have had a negative or positive
experience during out of hours and to develop on suggested program on improving on services by the
service users including the practitioners.
Critical Appraisal skills program (CASP) will be defined and will be later use to critically appraise the
research mentioned above. The importance of evidence based (EBP) in healthcare settings would be
briefly explained. Lastly validity, strength and weakness of the study would be looked into and to
conclude if it s or not fair enough to be used or modified services to patients and service users in care
settings.

Stop Sitting On The Toilet
Title: Why You Need to Stop Sitting On the Toilet: Reasons for Squatting On the Potty

Teaser: About four million Americans suffer from constipation are you one of them?
Article: The modern day toilet, while certainly convenient has one major flaw, it s built for sitting.
And while sitting to eliminate is considered civilized , there s another position that may improve how
you poop. And better elimination means less bloating, straining, hemorrhoids and constipation.
A little history behind sitting
What if I told you there was a more efficient way to poop? The bowel is the body s main elimination
organ, yet amongst many Americans today, this central elimination system is compromised by
something as simple as the position you choose to poop in. If you have less than three bowel
movements a week, then you may be one of the millions suffering from constipation. So, before
constipation gets the best of you, maybe it s time to go back to basics.
The first seated toilets ever built were used primarily for royalty and the disabled. However, after the
advent of indoor plumbing in the 1800s, the water closet was adapted with a porcelain throne to fit the
average home. That meant, common folk could now poop in a civilized manner just like the queen.
But prior to that, our ancestors were squatting

Starbucks Case Study Essay
Starbucks is one of the most recognized brands in the world. Since 1971 Starbucks has become
synonymous with coffee which they used to embody the brand and create a lifestyle behind it.
Starbucks wants the world to know they have more to offer than coffee and are committed to meeting
the needs of society. We re not just passionate purveyors of coffee, but everything else that goes along
with a full and rewarding coffeehouse experience. It s not unusual to see people coming to Starbucks
to chat, meet up or even work (Starbucks). In addition to coffee Starbucks locations keep a customer
base by offering free Wi Fi, music, and partnerships with Barnes and Nobles throughout the country.

Capitalization is the American way and Starbucks shareholders are in favor of the profit potential and
so are market insiders who feel this may boost Starbucks resume. Scott Bedbury, who was marketing
chief for Starbucks and Nike back in the 1990s, says the evolution is critical for Starbucks and notes
that wine sales could bring in latte like profits (Horovitz, 2010). The biggest challenges for Starbucks
is gaining entry into this new market and retaining customer loyalty.
Starbucks understands the coffee and the liquor markets both require government regulation. Since
most of Starbucks coffee is grown by the company in/out of the U.S. it s the percentage that is
imported from foreign producers that will cause the most challenge to Starbucks manufacturing
revenue. In order of Starbucks to gain entry to the wine and beer industry it will have to rely on its
advantage on handling government regulation, but the blending of markets will require some creative
strategies. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in the United Sates mandates what products are
sold for consumption in U.S. markets. Starbucks marketing executives and shareholders know that
imposing certain restrictions of foreign imports by the government will limit competition by making it
more costly. More subtly, a firm can favor laws that raise its costs but raise competitors costs by more.

Personality Stability and Change in Trait Theories of...
The evaluation of personality stability and change across the life span is largely determined by
theoretical beliefs. While some scholars have a more deterministic viewpoint and consider human
personality as fairly predictable and stable over time (e.g. biogenetic determinism), other theorists
view personality as fluid and highly malleable (e.g. behaviorism). The intermediate stance assumes a
bidirectional relationship between heredity and environment, which allows for both consistency and
change in personality. Moreover, some theorists introduce a third element to a biosocial model the
individual (e.g. transactional model of socialization). Evaluation of personality stability is difficult,

Don Juan). Allport used an idiographic approach that emphasized uniqueness of individuals,
evaluating categories of values within a person, instead of across groups. This approach reduces
researchers bias as the study is focused on investigation of traits presented in each individual, rather
than a theorized central trait (Burger, 2010). Allport was influential in conceptualizing of personality,
but his trait model is rather philosophical than scientific. Falsification of his hypothesis and
organization of psychological data under his theory is difficult, and, consequently, measurement of
personality stability or change is problematic. Contrary to Allport, personality analysis of Eysenck was
nomothetic in nature, with strong emphases on biological foundations of traits. To construct and
explain personality he used typical for the natural sciences approach that support generalization.
Through statistical evaluation Eysenck established two main bipolar dimensions of personality, which
he called supertraits extraversion/introversion (E) and neuroticism/stability (N). Later, he added
another dimension, psychoticism/superego functioning (P), which maintained less defined. According
to Eysenck, psychological disorders are found at the extremes of personalities, where neuroticism
determines predisposition to anxiety, hysteria, depression, and obsessive compulsive tendencies.
Psychoticism, per Eysenck,

Trophios Logos
Sending him home empty handed at the end of a hard fought season won t help him learn the lesson of
losing, it will teach him early that there s no value in the attempt (Zadrozny). Prizes such as trophies
and ribbons are a controversial topic in society. Some believe that not enough are handed out to
children while others believe that too many are handed out. Trophies are a symbol of victory and
triumph, but do not forget that children just want to feel part of a team even though they are not good
enough. Putting forth an honest effort is important, and doing well is the habit on which they will be
repeatedly evaluated in life. Even though some believe trophies are not good, they give a boost of

As Dr. Seuss once said, Don t cry because it s over, smile because it happened ( Stutman ). Losing is
tough for a child at a young age, especially when the losses are simultaneous piling up. A trophy
would then be a reminder that they worked hard throughout the season with their teammates. Being
there for your teammates and those in your life, when it suits you or when Saturday morning cartoons
look like a lot more fun, is a lifelong lesson that cannot be taught to young ( Heffernan ). 57% of
American children claim that they deserve a trophy after they participate in a team sport, after all, it is
the children that are playing (Hill). It s something they can show other people; therefore, it creates
awareness of a skill or attribute, an activity that they have accomplished. By giving children trophies,
they often get the message that they are accountable and feel proud of their

Toyota Sienna Is The Cream Of The Crop
As far as minivans go, the Toyota Sienna is the cream of the crop. Well, don t tell that to Honda and
Chrysler as both brands field excellent people movers of their own. Add in the Kia Sedona, Dodge
Grand Caravan, and the Nissan Quest, and there are six models to consider in this once shrinking, but
now very much thriving segment.
Now in its twentieth year and coming to the end of its third generation, the Toyota Sienna has
something no competitors provide: available all wheel drive. The Sienna once offered a standard four
cylinder engine, but wisely scrapped the base engine in 2013, continuing with the V6 alone. In this
arena, a V6 is expected how else can you move upwards of eight people and all their gear plus

Well, the market has since been rejuvenated, thanks in part to the all new Chrysler Pacifica, which has
caused consumers to revisit the segment. But that s not all in my unscientific analysis what sets
minivans apart from the pack are its dual sliding doors, a feature no crossover has. Instead of fighting
with pivoting doors while attempting to put a car seat and child in place, minivans make it very easy
on parents by handling the door issue for them.
Adding to the minivan advantage are power sliding doors. On the Sienna, the base L model features
sliding doors, but with no power assistance. However, once you reach the LE level, power assistance
with jam protection appears, the latter ensuring little hands are not mangled as the door shuts. Yes, you
ll want to start your Sienna shopping by examining the LE edition first.
Standard Exterior Features by Trim
Beyond the bold front fascia, long profile, and the expected (or at least available) power liftgate, the
distinguishing features on minivans may vary only in small ways. For the 2017 Sienna, a careful
inspection of the trim levels reveals differences, sometimes subtle.
Standard equipment includes automatic projector beam halogen headlamps, a black front grille, power
side mirrors with blind spot mirrors, 17 inch alloy wheels set within all season tires, a color keyed rear
spoiler, an in glass antenna, and black garnish on the liftgate.
Move away from the base model and you ll find

The Media Production Program At Ryerson University
Polaroid photographs can be thought of as tangible moments in time. They give off vibes of nostalgia
and whimsy. These feelings lead me to incorporate Polaroid s in my personal media artifact. And since
I am in the Media Production program at Ryerson University, I found it appropriate to apply what I
learned digitally in Photoshop to represent myself in an assemblage of hanging Polaroid s.
Corkboards are commonly used for reminders, organizing and possibly posting things we like on
them. These elements often come into play when I try to start a project. I often need to plan in advance
but even when I try to stay organized, I am scattered much like the board. The texts are what I used to
be inspired when I am creating something of my own. And like many aspects in life, the Polaroid s
and board have imperfections, but it is these imperfections build character. When hung together they
form a tapestry that tells a story of my life. I will now explain part of that story by analyzing three of
these texts from my collage by applying key concepts commonly studied in popular culture.
Habitus, described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu is the manifestation of culture through developed
habits and predispositions. Habitus can be thought of as the procedural memory one develops when
one improves in a sport by practicing it for many years (as cited in Cultural Capital, 2016). This
metaphor fits perfectly for something I love to watch and play: hockey.
Canada has been the catalyst that

  • 2. The Theory Of Child Rearing 1. Dr. John Watson, in his advocation in favor of nurture stated essentially, as we had discussed in some of our class sessions, that his approach to child rearing would have a direct impact on outcomes. It could be argued that child rearing is the one thing that could counter cultural influences as being more impactful. We discussed closed cultures such as those from the east where members work in a collectivist way to benefit society as a whole. Then we have the individualist societies similar to the western cultures where individual achievement for self is considered to be of more value. Which I believe contributes more to selfishness and an over emphasis on the aspects of I. This also takes me back to the behavior modification class I had as an undergraduate. That there are certain ways to behave in different social settings that may be presented to us on a daily basis. Such as we all behave differently in a social settings such as, school, work, home, the mall, etc.. Behaviors in one location may be acceptable but not another location. A good example would be that you can walk around naked in the privacy of your own home but not at school. While a closed, collectivist culture may look down upon what they may perceive as negative behaviors of those in their group, other outsiders from other cultures may be given some slack because they don t know proper behavior, even if they are trying. Those from these collectivist societies that travel to the west cannot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Punjab is a region that spans from Pakistan to India, is about the size of the U.S. state of Wyoming, contains over half of Pakistan s population, and is home to an immense amount of Pakistani culture. One particular city in Punjab, Lahore, is described as Pakistan s cultural capital. Islamic extremists known as the Taliban are now trying to dismantle the so called cultural capital in hopes of assuming control of the country. In this year, Palestinians were forced to immigrate to neighboring countries. However, other Palestinians were able to migrate into European countries, while others went to Arab gulf countries. • 5. Difference Between Rsa And Mvp Classification Analysis And... 1.1 What is representational similarity analysis? Representational similarity analysis (RSA) is an analysis framework builds on a rich psychological and mathematical literature, in which multi channel measures of neural activity are quantitatively related to each other and to computational theory and behavior by comparing RDMs. RDM is the representational dissimilarity matrix, which contains a cell for each pair of experimental conditions. Each cell is a number reflecting the dissimilarity between the activity patterns associated with the two conditions. The core of the of RSA is to use RDM as a signature of the representations in brain regions and computational models (Kriegeskorte, Mur, Bandettini, 2008). 1.2 The differences between RSA and MVP classification analysis and the new information that can be obtained from representational similarity analysis that is not revealed by MVP classification or univariate analysis. RSA is a particular versatile version of MVPA. It goes beyond testing of information in regional response patterns and enables researchers to handle condition rich experiments without predefined stimulus categories, to test conceptual and computational models, and to relate representations between humans and monkeys, and even to related across different types of brain activity measurements. 1.2.1 Major differences: 1) MVP classification analysis focus on the representations of the brain associated with experimental

This paper is going to give a brief documentation regarding the relevance that knowledge has in an organization. The progression of knowledge within any given organization, be it in the production of goods or the issuance of services to customers, is the most thought provoking element in business. Herein, the comprehension of knowledge in an organization is considered by different measures of any projects being undertaken. More so, this is achieved through clarification with regard to consultation and development measures within the organization. These are very direct initiatives geared towards the promotion of knowledge realization in a firm. There is also a need for employers, in the quest of making their employees knowledgeable, to train, counsel and encourage employees to conduct detailed research on their roles. It plays a significant role towards employee attainment of knowledge. All the same, the associated processes are usually indirect. For instance, the training of employees in an organization is not a guarantee that whatever is learned will be applied. For knowledge based organizations, it is paramount for managers to bear in mind that promotion towards knowledge realization is charted through the classification of implemented projects and assigned tasks. Europeans made Africa worse than what it was, they treated Africa as a money making place and didn t care if they had to kill people in order to do so.For example, Pheko states Africa has suffered the worst genocide and holocaust at the hands of the architects of slavery and colonialism (Pheko). This example of pathos demonstrates that Africans have been treated unfairly throughout the years. Europeans have tried to demolish Africa and tear into it as a toy, Africa s colonization turned Africa into a subhuman country. At first, I see the dark dull colours in the gloomy scenery but then I can look past that and see such a warm fiery red orange sky. I love the details in this panting from the people in the background to the organic strokes of the paintbrush exhibiting a different shade with every stroke. However, I cannot help but wonder why? Why is this human screaming or are they human? Maybe it is a representation of someone s inner demon or thoughts just shouting to get out. While not as convenient as being able to order a movie from the comfort of your home and having it upload on the TV, if Blockbuster integrates the two systems it will be an advantage to the overall strategy. Microsoft and Netflix have unveiled a partnership under which Netflix will stream movies directly to consumers through Microsoft s Internet based Xbox Live service (McDougall, 2008). This strategy goes along with Netflix s original agenda: to increase customer convenience. Anyone who is a Netflix subscriber and has an Xbox will be able to stream movies in the company library. This service should launch in the autumn of 2008. Closing While Blockbuster is trying to remain true to its origins and keep its core competence of a physical video rental store, the future seems to be in the roles of companies able to cater to consumer s busy life styles and need for convenience. Netflix, along with Apple and video on demand, is working to make ordering movies and TV shows as simple and fast as possible. Blockbuster needs to create a strategy that keeps at the front of the movie rental technology if it doesn t want to lose customers to the convenience of not having to leave their homes. In her poem, At Mornington , she considers the philosophical idea that the passing of time leads to gaining of wisdom. Harwood shows that growth and development are a critical part of defining our individuality. She has effectively used poetic techniques such as construction; vivid imagery and the context of her own life to explore this idea and contributed to the textual integrity of the piece. External contextual readings and values of the poem have illuminated the significance of the piece in asserting the value of friendship and relationships, and presented various ideas such as the inevitability of death, the significance that past events and memories play in shaping present perception as well as the defining of individuality through growth and development. Together, this contributes to the memorability of the poem. At Mornington is variant in structure; it is linear, circular and episodic, containing recurring motifs. The lack of a rhyme scheme displays the train of thought nature of the poem, presenting the poem as a reflective journey for the persona. Experiences with family and friends are tied with the poem, starting with a first witnessing of the sea and then introspectively reflecting on water, memory and death. He would continually think to himself how it s just a little bit of cold. It ll only cause some pain and discomfort. Nothing too dangerous or life threatening. Due to his inexperience in this freezing weather, mixed in with his ignorance, the man s death was certain. Once in a while the thought repeated itself that it was very cold and the he had never experienced such cold. As he walked along he rubbed his face and nose with the back of his mittened hand. He did this without thinking, frequently changing hands. But, with all his rubbing, the instant he stopped, his face and nose became numb. His face would surely be frozen. He knew that and he was sorry that he had not worn the sort of nose guard Bud wore when it was cold. Such a guard passed across the nose and covered the entire face. But it did not matter much, he decided. What was a little frost? A bit painful, that was all. It was never serious. (London 68) Comparing the man with his own dog, the reader is able to see a massive difference between the the master and pet. The TSA was instructed to secure all modes of transportation and they committee was instructed that they wanted to see result soon. Additionally the Aviation and Transportation Security Act required the screening of passengers, cargo and luggage for explosives as the primary priority. The screener is able to see the passenger s nude image, but software updates have eliminated this providing only detection of metallic and nonmetallic threats. The prior method of a metal detector which did not alarm staff if nonmetallic threats existed allowed C 4 explosive (a clay type of explosive) to board the plan. The body scanners are quicker than the former methods of a pat down , which every passenger had to endure and were less invasive. This system will be used by the TSA until a better method is discovered, which will provide faster screening, more privacy to passengers and better detection of threats. The cost of this has rising over the years but it was the initial setup of the TSA in 2002 which cost the most since there was not an agency within this realm that completed these duties. Security costs at airports have increased because of Transportation Security Administration operations. It has also resulted in numerous passenger delays and additional cost. People likely are spending thousands, if not millions, of hours at airports, which results in loss of productivity. • 23. Essay on The Modern Relevance of Themes in James Joyce s... James Joyce is widely considered to be one of the best authors of the 20th century. One of James Joyce s most celebrated short stories is Eveline. This short story explores the theme of order and hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore, the themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but are just as relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In society, the idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote popular sayings such as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this belief. Contrary, the idea of taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These readers do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a sympathetic character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very fortuitous, and therefore hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave Dublin. Other critics of Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This argument is based on the idea that Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a female character, in this case Eveline. Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of Eveline that some would say furthers the case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines of intellect women: by curves of emotion (Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one could be viewed as chauvinistic. Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for debate, but one could definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s criticism of life in Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin was covered above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to make a better life for themselves. Joyce is perhaps critical of this trend to not settle for the norm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scott Bedbury, who was marketing chief for Starbucks and Nike back in the 1990s, says the evolution is critical for Starbucks and notes that wine sales could bring in latte like profits (Horovitz, 2010). The biggest challenges for Starbucks is gaining entry into this new market and retaining customer loyalty. Starbucks understands the coffee and the liquor markets both require government regulation. Since most of Starbucks coffee is grown by the company in/out of the U.S. it s the percentage that is imported from foreign producers that will cause the most challenge to Starbucks manufacturing revenue. In order of Starbucks to gain entry to the wine and beer industry it will have to rely on its advantage on handling government regulation, but the blending of markets will require some creative strategies. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in the United Sates mandates what products are sold for consumption in U.S. markets. Starbucks marketing executives and shareholders know that imposing certain restrictions of foreign imports by the government will limit competition by making it more costly. • 29. Personality Stability and Change in Trait Theories of... The evaluation of personality stability and change across the life span is largely determined by theoretical beliefs. While some scholars have a more deterministic viewpoint and consider human personality as fairly predictable and stable over time (e.g. biogenetic determinism), other theorists view personality as fluid and highly malleable (e.g. behaviorism). The intermediate stance assumes a bidirectional relationship between heredity and environment, which allows for both consistency and change in personality. Moreover, some theorists introduce a third element to a biosocial model the individual (e.g. transactional model of socialization). Allport used an idiographic approach that emphasized uniqueness of individuals, evaluating categories of values within a person, instead of across groups. This approach reduces researchers bias as the study is focused on investigation of traits presented in each individual, rather than a theorized central trait (Burger, 2010). Allport was influential in conceptualizing of personality, but his trait model is rather philosophical than scientific. Falsification of his hypothesis and organization of psychological data under his theory is difficult, and, consequently, measurement of personality stability or change is problematic. Contrary to Allport, personality analysis of Eysenck was nomothetic in nature, with strong emphases on biological foundations of traits. To construct and explain personality he used typical for the natural sciences approach that support generalization. Through statistical evaluation Eysenck established two main bipolar dimensions of personality, which he called supertraits extraversion/introversion (E) and neuroticism/stability (N). Later, he added another dimension, psychoticism/superego functioning (P), which maintained less defined. Instead of fighting with pivoting doors while attempting to put a car seat and child in place, minivans make it very easy on parents by handling the door issue for them. • 32. The Media Production Program At Ryerson University Polaroid photographs can be thought of as tangible moments in time. They give off vibes of nostalgia and whimsy. These feelings lead me to incorporate Polaroid s in my personal media artifact. And since I am in the Media Production program at Ryerson University, I found it appropriate to apply what I learned digitally in Photoshop to represent myself in an assemblage of hanging Polaroid s. Corkboards are commonly used for reminders, organizing and possibly posting things we like on them. These elements often come into play when I try to start a project. I often need to plan in advance but even when I try to stay organized, I am scattered much like the board. The texts are what I used to be inspired when I am creating something of my own. And like many aspects in life, the Polaroid s and board have imperfections, but it is these imperfections build character. When hung together they form a tapestry that tells a story of my life. I will now explain part of that story by analyzing three of these texts from my collage by applying key concepts commonly studied in popular culture. Habitus, described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu is the manifestation of culture through developed habits and predispositions. Habitus can be thought of as the procedural memory one develops when one improves in a sport by practicing it for many years (as cited in Cultural Capital, 2016).
