Nessus Case
Nessus which is an architecture and infrastructure used in cybersecurity serves as a home for where
servers can be centrally connected for the purpose of scanning and remote access by clients that have
being given admin rights. In using Nessus, one of the most interesting benefits is that Administrators
can make use of NASL descriptions solely for detecting vulnerabilities in order to develop customized
scans.
Furthermore, Nessus has capabilities that makes it to distinct out from others, such capabilities ensure
more security to vulnerabilities. They include:
1. Computers and servers compatibility of various installation types and configuration.
2. With Nessus, issues like Security holes are detected both from the remote and local hosts.
3. Security updates, sometimes can be forgotten are not properly installed. Nessus has the ability to
detect the updates that are missing and need to be installed.
4. Simulation is also a big characteristic of Nessus. It has the ability to simulate various attacks in
order to showcase vulnerabilities.
5. Security testing is also a great deal that makes Nessus to stand out. The security testing feature and
execution in Nessus allows you to create a policy that keeps everything under control, that it offers the
containment of vulnerabilities.

Rough Draft Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey
The Odyssey Rough Draft In The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus is on a journey home to Ithaca after
helping the Greeks win the Trojan War. The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell represents the
difficult journey a hero must go on to defeat the final battle, meaning that he must overcome a really
difficult challenge to complete his journey and restore the world. In The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus
experiences significant events on his journey home to Ithaca which includes Entering the Unknown;
he receives Supernatural Aid; and he experiences the Supreme Ordeal related to Campbell s Hero s
Journey. After winning the Trojan War, Odysseus starts his journey by entering the unknown; he does

Some of the time the gift is simply wisdom (Campbell). The quote from The Odyssey is supported by
the quote from the Hero s Journey because Athena, a goddess, is a supernatural element, and helps
Odysseus by providing him information about the situation at his palace. Athena helps Odysseus with
the means to complete his adventure by preparing him for his supreme ordeal.
Odysseus must overcome his ultimate challenge, the supreme ordeal, in order to finish his journey.
Odysseus has to kill the suitors that are trying to steal his wife and his kingdom. With Athena s help,
Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar to sneak into the castle. He then plans out an attack on the
suitors by trapping them in a room where he will kill them all off. After Odysseus successfully
completes the challenge to shoot an arrow through several axe handles, he reveals himself and takes
action on the suitors; he screams out You yellow dogs, you thought I d never make it home from the
land of Troy. You took my house to plunder (Homer, 610) Part 2. The Hero s Journey identifies this is
as the supreme ordeal as once the obstacle is overcome, the tension will be relieved... the worst is
passed, and the quest while not officially over, has succeeded (Campbell). The Hero s Journey
supports the quote mentioned from The Odyssey because after Odysseus kills all of the

Delta Air Lines: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
A company must have a clear vision for success in order to succeed: a realization of what has worked
for the company in the past, an understanding of the standing of the company today, and a vision for
where the company will be heading tomorrow. Delta Air Lines is the epitome of a company that

The perception and expectations of the flight attendants was constantly changing. For years prior to
the civil rights movement, Delta imposed strict rules on the women to include prohibition of children
and marriage fearing such would interfere with work. As an added bonus, Delta used the women s
availability as a way to lure businessmen to fly with Delta to be able to pick up eligible women
(Whitelegg, 2011). According to one flight attendant, being associated with the airlines turned out to
be a happy hunting ground for marriage partners for lots of young men and women with healthy
hormones and honorable intentions (Whitelegg, 2005, p.16). Recognizing this, the image of the flight
attendants become provocative as their uniforms became less formal. However, women still found
their jobs were liberating because they were breaking the traditional model and perception of women s
place in society. Delta s corporate social responsibility was not questioned because the social etiquette
for young women during this time was to get married. According to Nelson amp; Quick, ethical
conduct at the individual level can translate into social responsibility at the organizational level (p.60).

Analysis Of The Movie Temple Grandin
During class, the teacher showed us two movies during the course of the semester revealing the lives
of two important people and their significance of their actions.. The first movie was Temple Grandin ,
which told a story of a young woman who suffered repeated setbacks from her autism throughout the
entirety of her life. Mostly, ridiculed by her peers and even in her male dominated profession, Animal
Agriculture. Grandin remain persistent in achieving her goals and eventually overcame her
oppositions one by one. Similarly, Invictus follows the familiar theme of rising against adversary with
Nelson Mandela sworn into office after the disintegration of the South Africa s apartheid, the nation
suffers low morale and division among each other. The Springboks, the national rugby team suffers
criticism among the African, due to the colors representing the history of apartheid. Mandela
embraced the Rugby team and encourage them to win the 1995 World Cup in order to unify the entire
nation, with support of the president and the South African people the team eventually won the Cup
and achieve unification. Overall, I believe Temple Grandin delivered the better picture than Invictus
due to the use of flashbacks at moments to illustrate the story, accuracy in depicting the character, and
suspense at certain parts of the film enhance my perspective.
First, the use of flashbacks in Temple Grandin helped create a level of atmosphere dealing with the

Political Corruption Has A Lasting Impression On New York...
Political corruption has had a lasting impression on New York City and the empire state all together. It
is an attribute to the history and development of the city because it has been an influence on the social,
economic and political spheres that are at the heart of society in New York. To develop an
understanding of how political corruption shaped New York City and how it has contributed to the city
s growth is essential to under the history of the city. It is important also to understand how people
reacted to it, because it set a foundation for modern times and how people react to government and its
role in society. My possible thesis for this research paper would be political corruption was an element
to the growth of New York City following the civil war. Through questionable political tactics,
officials used their power to negatively and positively push New York City into the 1900s, which
would lead to political activism by the city s people looking for change. The most important aspect in
understanding political corruption in New York City during the Gilded Age would have to be
identifying how these officials were able to come into power and gain support. In the book, Party
Games: Getting, Keeping, and Using Power in Gilded Age Politics, the author Mark Summers has
examined just that. The tactics and approaches to government and interaction with New York City
citizens were something that was very unique as well as new to American society. The corrupt officials

We moved from an agrarian base to an industrial one. By the mid 50s the majority of jobs were found
in factories. Manufacturing suffered heavy blows during the late 60 s and early seventies and was
displaced by the service industry. With the closing of the 20th century those services have become
increasingly technological.
Surviving those changes requires adaptation, not only in the retooling of physical plants and the
retraining workers, but also in the way we manage those workers. Some feel that there appears to be
an underlying theme in books and papers on the subject of HRM, that there is only one correct way to
manage people. (2) Maslow on Management offers a much different approach, demonstrating
conclusively that one size does not fit all; i.e., that different people need to be managed differently.
HMR models operating on the assumption that there is a single right way to manage people are using
workplace criteria that are quickly becoming a thing of the past. The one way model views people
working for an organization as employees who work full time and are solely dependent on that
organization for their livelihood and their careers. These employees generally were viewed as
subordinates with limited or very narrow skill sets. (3)
These images of the worker may have been valid several decades ago. However, today every one of

John Dewey s Views On Politics And Human Endeavor
In Pratt s informative book, claiming that a line of thought originated in large part with Northeastern
U.S. Indian tribes is supposed to reflect well on that line of thought or on those tribes or both. That
line of thought is roughly the thought of John Dewey, taken here as a culmination and summary of
American Pragmatism. The characterization of pragmatism offered in the book is friendly toward it.
Pragmatism, on Pratt s view, consists of four commitments to principles. These put the American
school of thought in opposition to standard tendencies in the traditions of Western philosophy. 1.
Things are what they do; or, they are the interactions they have with other things, rather than being
just, ever, self contained entities for abstract ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also leaves out the serious and ongoing critiques of pragmatist arguments. Some of those are more
serious than those Pratt does mention, such as Russell s objection to James view of truth. James
proposes that truth is something to be judged in relation to human interests at issue, and Russell
objects to the opening for relativism if those interests are thought a legitimate part of appraising truth.
But some Wittgensteinian critiques are targeted at assumptions shared both by the pragmatists and
their opponents and are based on concerns much like some of those which motivate the pragmatists
suspicion of de contextualized abstraction and of the lines of thought leading up to the posing of
philosophical questions. These objections, then, start with motivations like the pragmatists, but wind
up with accusations that the pragmatists critiques are shallow and that the pragmatists wind up being
driven by abstract pictures and lose track of examples. Because Pratt assumes throughout pragmatists
are on the side of the angels, his book does not help those who might worry about that assumption. A
detailed critique of the arguments for tracing all four commitments to American Indian sources would
be worthwhile, but let s take a look at one for which the stakes are high. Consider the argument that

Alternative Dispute Resolution ( Adr )
Introduction
Since litigation particularly in High Court is both expensive, time consuming and also the
disadvantage of process being conducted to the public. Different parties with disputes have sought
after other means of dispute resolution which is generally known as alternative dispute resolution
(ADR).
Alternative dispute resolution is basically a way of solving civil dispute. It is the collective term for
the ways that parties settle civil disputes, with the assistance of an autonomous third party and without
the need of a court hearing which often leads to a mutual understanding between both parties. In
situations where mediation does not decide the case, a variety of other options which includes
conciliation, arbitration, adjudication and private judging which is a rare option of ADR. Regardless of
the historic opposition to ADR by many parties and their advocates, ADR has since gained widespread
acceptance among both the public and the legal profession in contemporary years. In addition to this,
courts now advice some parties to resort to ADR which includes mediation before approving the
parties cases to be tried in court. The first practical use of alternative dispute resolution procedures
began in the 1970s as a possible way for the disabling court backlogs and also a way to resolve
environmental and natural resource disputes. In 1985, the Attorney General issued a directive
identifying the need for ADR to drastically reduce the time and cost of litigation.

The Jungle Essay example
The book, The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair had a major impact on the way the world saw the American
Meat Packing Industry. While Upton Sinclair originally intended to appeal to the public s heart
concerning the conditions and the treatment of workers, it was obvious that the book had more of an
impact on the meat industry. The public was outraged by the stories of waste meat being canned as
wholesome meat, workers falling into vats and being processed as lard, and dead animals being
processed when the inspectors weren t looking. Upton was quoted in saying, I aimed at the public s
heart, and by accident I hit it in the stomach (Kantor 1976). The impact that this fictitious novel had,
can still be seen today. After the outrage of hearing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On numerous occasions, the packing companies were tried for selling bad products, but the packing
companies always came out on top (Yeager 1906). Many people felt that the trials were unfair and that
the Beef Trust had its hands in the politics that lead to the false innocence of the packing industries
(Yeager 1906). In 1902, Dr. Harvey Wiley created the Division of chemistry, also known as the Poison
Squad. This Division of Chemistry analyzed products that were created by the packing companies.
They looked for any kind of dyes, preservatives, or adulterants that may have been added to the meats.
The Division of Chemistry found, in the numerous products sampled, that the meat was wholesome
and contained no adulterants, dyes, or any preservatives other than the types and amounts that were
allowed. They also inspected meat packing plants to find that the sanitation was acceptable in almost
all cases (Young 1908). The book gave examples of potted ham, which was said to be the waste of
beef or pork. The pieces of meat were too small for any other product so they were gathered together
and made into its own product. Some of the parts included tripe, which were supposedly dyed so that
they would not appear white. Harvey Wiley at first was very pessimistic about this potted meat. Upon
analyzing the product, he found that the meat was indeed wholesome and free of dyes or adulterants
(Young 1908). In 1906, the Pure Food and

the concept of the Social Contract Theory which will be explained a lit tle later. Thomas Hobbes was
born on April 5, 1588 in the small town of Westport, in the county of Wiltshire which is a small
country in England. Much of Hobbes childhood is unknown even his mother s name is lost. This could
be seen as Hobbes was born around the same time as the invasion of the Spanish Armada. Hobbes s
father had a brother named Francis Hobbes, who had no family of his own though was wealthy.
Hobbes, his brother, and his sister went to live with their uncle when Hobbes father, Thomas Hobbes

overshadowed by all his older brother s reputation, which has influenced him greatly. The aspect of
family has influenced both Ron s identity and my identity because affected our self esteems. In the
novel, Ron is the youngest amongst his five outstanding brothers. As the youngest son in the his
family, Ron was always comparing himself to his older brothers, who all achieved great success. This
is evident when Ron says I m the sixth in our family to go to Hogwarts. You could say I got a lot to
live up to. Bill and Charlie have already left Bill was Head Boy and Charlie was captain of Quidditch.
Now Percy s a prefect. Fred and George mess around a lot, but they still get really good marks and
everyone thinks they re really funny. Everyone expects me to do as well as the others, but if I do, it s
no big deal, because they did it first (Rowling 67). Being the youngest of five brothers is a
predicament to Ron, because he faces the constant pressure of living up to all of his brother s
accomplishments. His position in the family has led to a lot of his insecurities and self doubt. Unlike
Ron, I did not come from a large family and for that reason, I personally did not receive the same
pressure and expectations that Ron faced. Without these expectations, I did not struggle with issues of
self esteem, whereas Ron often feels inadequate about being in the shadow of his successful brothers,
which resulted in problems with his self confidence. The aspect of family in Ron s life and my own

Toyota s Strategy Of The Ford Motor Company
Pedal Down, Pulse Up: Ford s Strategy
Cars are an indelible part of the American lifestyle and no company represents that better than the
Ford Motor Company. Ford s halo car is the Mustang: a rumble, 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds, and the iconic

automobiles across six continents (Reuters, 2016). The Ford Motor Company has been on the NYSE

Advantage is what makes the company distinctive and allows the company to deliver on its customer
value proposition like no one else (Collis Rukstad, 2008). While Toyota is known for quality and is
focusing its innovation on the safety of their vehicles, Ford is hoping to gain advantage through
innovative vehicle launches and a suite of mobility services both within and outside of the vehicles
they sell.
One of Ford s strengths is the company s innovative processes, now more effective following the
launch of the One Ford Plan in 2008 (Rowland, 2015). This plan brought Ford together as one global
team and created global collaboration. While their profitability has increased since implementation of
the One Ford Plan to an operating margin of 5.4% in 2015, they have been trending below Toyota in
the few years since the global economic recovery (Appendix B).
One way Ford is trying to improve is through their platform consolidation initiative, reducing the

Tourism Is Essential For Tourism Essay
1. Introduction
While there are many definitions of tourism, it is often defined as: people going from their usual areas
to new areas. Tourism does not happen when one does not come from elsewhere to stay for one night
or more. Every human has been a tourist whether it was domestically or internationally. As an
industry, there is the supply side of tourism and the demand side. However, as a system, the industry
as a whole is only a contributing factor of tourism. Leiper (1977) took a systematic approach to
tourism; he considered it to be an open system; it has inter dependent components and is affected by
external factors. This means that tourism does not work in isolation to the world that surrounds it, in
fact the world around tourism is essential for tourism to be able to operate.
We call a thing a system when we wish to express the fact that thing is perceived/conceived as
consisting of a set of elements, or parts, that are connected to one another by at least one
distinguishing principle (Jordan, 1981). Therefore, as Leiper s model suggests, Tourism is in fact a
system. It consists of three interdependent components, or elements, which are all connected to each
other. These components are: The geographical component, the human component and the business
component. These elements rely on each other in the same way tourism relies on them as a whole and
separately; the way a system s components rely on each other. As a whole, the tourism system is
affected by and can

Symbolism In Dr Strangelove
Stanley Kubrick s, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, is a
political satire of the Cold War that displays the fear of nuclear devastation after World War II, which
created an atmosphere of suspicion, with everyone prepared and waiting for the bomb to drop.
Kubrick s film portrays a worst case scenario in which humans become the victims to the machines of
destruction they have created and depend on for safety. At a time when the whole country was terrified
of the Soviet Union, Kubrick s film portrayed the issue through humor, instead of fear. Through the

Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb challenges the beliefs of war
and equates war to a mockery created by sexually crippled men. The most symbolic scene in the film,
one that truly exemplifies what Kubrick was trying to show his audience, is the famous riding of the
bomb scene in which actor Slim Pickens howls with satisfaction and lust as he plummets toward earth
with an atomic bomb firmly between his legs. Kubrick s effect is to make the audience want to see that
bomb dropped which is the climax with Kong riding it. His mind far from fear or doubt, he is
exhilarated. The imagery of straddling the bomb, the intensity and satisfaction with which he
dislodges the bomb and ensures not only his own destruction but also those around him. Dr.

Paul Laurence Dunbar And Maya Angelou Comparison
For each of us, freedom plays a very important role in this life. With me, I think there is nothing which
is greater than we are free to do what we want to do, dream what we want to dream or simply, eat
what we want to eat. We all worship freedom. I or Paul Laurence Dunbar and Maya Angelou do too.
Paul Laurence Dunbar and Maya Angelou expressed their freedom through their poems which are
Sympathy and Caged Bird in a very personal, dramatic and profound way. Although we were
published in two different times, I feel that these two poems also have harmonies in ideas or the way
the authors think about freedom in them. Besides, each of them contains their own characteristics
which make them have their own colors and meaning. During the civil rights era, the racism, that

feeling when they used to face with that discrimination in their life every single day. The poems also
assert the importance of freedom and its value in life. Besides the coincidence of the subject and
circumstances of the birth of these two poems, there is another interesting similiar thing is that the
image of a bird which is trapped in a cage is used as a metaphor to symbolize African Americans who
suffered racial discrimination during this period. I feel this is a very interesting metaphor. That same
point also makes the poems special and have very personal beauty , not to be confused with other
poems. Birds are always associated as a symbol of freedom. Everyone

Porter s five Analysis
(1) Threat of new competition: * Strong distribution network: there are 300 active distributors and one
third of the cost of any typical feature is marketing expense. * Large capital for initializing a business:
a large capital is required for establishing a new business in this industry whether a studio, distribution
or exhibition. The high cost of production requires company to spend a lot of money. * Strong brand
names: films from the top 10 studios produce over 90 percent of domestic box office receipt. Strong
brand names in the industry increase the new entry barrier. * Advanced technologies: the rapidly
technology development makes it difficult to competitor to enter the market because competitor needs
to acquire this technology prior to enter the market. * Customers are loyal to existing brand:

Volkswagen Case Study
Being the second largest car manufacturer in the world, Volkswagen really dug themselves a deep
hole. According to Bocconi Students Investment Club, The company was discovered cheating on the
emission tests by installing software that limits the harmful fumes produces but only while the vehicle
is being tested. Once on the road, the company s vehicles emission levels exceed the norm by 10 40
times. While reading the Bocconi Students Investment Club that you have provided for us, it goes in
depth about how this scandal was suppose to help Volkswagen become the first car manufacturer in
the world. Volkswagen ethically broke the law by installing these software systems in their vehicles
that lower the NOx levels in the engine of their vehicles ranging from 2009 2015. According to BSIC,
At the core of this scandal are the so called defeat devices installed by Volkswagen on some 11 million
cars worldwide. At the moment legal charges have been brought up on roughly 482,000 diesel
vehicles operating in the US under VW and Audi badges. This investigation started to occur in 2015.
According to BSIC When the software dented that it was being tested, it would change to an alternate
engine configuration, lowering toxic NOx levels in exchange for a drop in performance and fuel
economy. Since this discussion about what Volkswagen did, they have lost a lot of their business.
Consumers are not going to want to buy vehicles from this company any more because of how much
money it would cost them to get their car fixed. This dispute has hurt a lot of people in the process.
For an example, it is hurting the consumers because they have to get their vehicle fixed, the company
itself because they are under lawsuits and potential fines. According to BSIC The serious implications
for the firm are expected to not only include costs arising from fines, lawsuits and recall costs, but also
criminal and civil chargers pursued against individuals directly responsible for the incident. By having
all of these lawsuits and recall costs it is going to cost Volkswagen a lot of money in the long run.
According to BSIC Under the threat of a 18 billion potential fine, the negative reaction of the market
has been rapid with the VW

Invisible Children Sociology
The United States based organization Invisible Children was founded in 2004 after Jason Russell, co
founder and voice of the movement. Travelled through east and central Africa and was introduced to
the ongoing conflict in Uganda. The goal of Invisible Children was to bring awareness to the actions
of warlord Joseph Kony, leader of the Lord s Resistance Army (LRA). In 2012 they orchestrated a
campaign which they named Stop Kony 2012. The movement, began in March of the same year with
the release of the video, KONY 2012, shared on video hosting sites YouTube and Vimeo. The video
was quickly shared to other networking sights such as Facebook and Twitter which led to a record

not deeply flawed, and full of misinformation. It proved that one s online presence has an impact on
the world, and in some cases one s online presence may be more powerful than their real life. The goal
of Kony 2012 was always to simply raise awareness, which is what the general population should

The Causes Of Natural Disasters
Three people during a dangerous hurricane try to stay alive, and one person walks to the bathroom.
While he is walking to the bathroom a window breaks and a piece of glass cuts him in the neck. They
can not call the ambulance because of the hurricane. He later dies in her own home from blood loss.
(bleeding to death)I wanted to research on this natural disasters because I want to help make the world
safe and its life in the world. I care about the destruction of these natural disasters. There can be a
building that is one billion dollars that is just built, then it was destroyed during a tornado or
hurricane. The main point or question i m overall trying to cover is that why don t we try to stop or
predict and help fight the disasters in the world. We can help in a lot of ways to help stop many things
from dying or the destruction it causes.I think I can, I will stop this by telling the world that we can
help prevent these natural disasters by helping each other to help predict and someday prevent them.
There are many reasons to help prevent or stop these natural disasters. These solutions are available
because of the fact that we have a lot more people than we need to help prevent or stop these natural
disasters. These solutions include building, donating, and in general stop doing stuff that is dangerous
during a natural disaster. One of these is building dams or walls to prevent tsunamis if the wall is big
and strong to prevent from these natural disasters from hitting.

Short Story Of Tom Brady The Great
The Greatest
Is Tom Brady the greatest QB of all time ? The question a 13 year old boy had asked his father asked
as they sat down to watch the Bills VS Patriots game after the two had arrived home from a basketball
game. Almost everybody around New England think s so .The father answered . As they watched the
game they constantly talked about how well he was playing. Just making players that everybody said
are An amazing player appear as idiots.
Later, after watching the Patriots win 41 25 and watching Tom Brady have an impressive game they
listened to players stats it stunned me how well Tom Brady did without making it look like he wasn t
putting any effort in to it. He threw for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. But this isn

touchdown passes with 0 interceptions with another win against the Cleveland Browns. ... Show more

Film Analysis Of The Movie Ex Machina
In this essay I will be taking an in depth look at the movie Ex Machina, and analyzing scenes of the
film and look for a deeper meaning and possible foreshadowing of things to follow in the film. In the
film Ex Machina, we are led to believe that the main points in the film are AI s and testing whether
they can be conscious, have emotions and basically have all the qualities and traits a human portrays.
Caleb who is believed to be chosen at random by Nathan to take part in being the person to test the AI,
realizes that is all, but random as Nathan had a purpose in choosing Caleb to take part in his tests. A
test as to whether the AI in the film, Ava can break the communication barrier with Caleb her during
sessions that Nathan had set up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caleb s room that he arrives in shortly after, has no windows and Nathan simply explains that it s a
research facility and windows are not needed, and he has a lot of things in his facility that he can t take
the chance of them being seen or exposed to someone on the outside. While it may be somewhat
accurate according to Nathan and the situation, I think the windowless rooms and the off limit rooms
are to give off a sense of seclusion to the audience and also to Caleb in the film, as it helps contribute
to his eventual meltdown towards the end of the movie.
Another deeper aspect revolves around the relationship formed between Caleb and Ava, as well as
how much Nathan knows about their relationship and everything he has to do with them having
feelings for each other and his awareness of it. At first, you realize the power outages and you
question as to whether Nathan is watching or not, because surely he knows Ava has something to do
with it and he s not stupid enough to just let them happen and lose those few moments of knowing
what they are talking about. Later, we see that Nathan does indeed know and sets up his own cameras,
but the more I thought the more I wondered if he let them happen on purpose to get them to confess
certain things to each other in those moments. Nathan being a programmer and a pretty smart guy,
surely, he could fix the power outages

Determining the Relationship between Postnatal Depression...
CHAPTER 4
4.1 Search Strategy
The main purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between postnatal depression and
peer support by way of reviewing primary research articles. The search strategy adopted for this study
can be broken down into several steps. The key concepts and terminologies for the study were
identified. The synonyms of the terms were then determined which were also included within the
search terms. Boolean operators were the chosen search features. Databases from which the literature
search would be conducted were chosen. Using Boolean operators, different search expression were
created and the search conducted. The results were evaluated and the inclusion exclusion criteria

The Pursuit Of A College Degree
The pursuit of a college degree is, in fact, a significant element that can improve one s life, which will
relieve the government and improve the economy. The more people do not rely on government aid, the
higher the chance the economy can get out of debt. A good majority of jobs in the job market require
its employees to have some sort of college education: Associates Degree, Bachelor s Degree, Master s
Degree, or a Doctoral Degree. Today, a Bachelor s degree is not efficient enough to get or keep a job
due to high amount of competition. Being that college is so expensive, people do not see the
advantage of getting a higher education. Setting aside four or five years to only be unemployed or
being paid a low salary is simply not worth it to some people. In order for institutions to function,
colleges and universities need to consider the objection that many people face when making the
decision to attend college.
Throughout my adolescents, my mother always exposed me to the positive side of going to college:
better job opportunities, lasting friendships, sorority life. I was fortunate enough to go to a well
accredit university on a scholarship. It only covered 5% of my college tuition, which was not much
but it definitely allowed me to have extra money to purchase my textbooks. Another why people
choose to attend college is to receive a refund check, which can be used to buy anything such as shoes,
clothes, and televisions. Although it may seem as though one is getting a

Socio-Cultural Impacts
Socio cultural impacts
Before FIFA World Cup 2010 launched in South Africa, the main attraction was mostly on gold and
diamonds. The number of crime rate is what people knew about South Africa, and since the high
crime, so there are not so many people come to South Africa for travel or investment. Therefore, most
of the cultural in South Africa are not familiar by the world. But FIFA World Cup has been the biggest
and a very successful promotion for the cultural of South Africa and it also make a big impact to the
South Africa society, it lets thousands of visitors come to South Africa for travel, although almost of

undeveloped market of South Africa, because the FIFA 2010 let them see the improvement of security,
the precision of their development, all of them let the companies feel invest in South Africa is a good
and safety operation. So, there are more and more companies would like to come for investment, and
their investment will be a strong motivation to the South Africa economy, it will make more and more
employment opportunities, it will let the development be much faster. For example, Nike, a brand of
sporting products, has invested million of USD in South Africa for their promotion, like install a large
transflective on the largest building in Johannesburg, and found a small football club for the football
training. These investments also employ local residents to work, whatever the FIFA 2010 would
finish, but the facilities will still run and still offer employment opportunities for the local residents.
Negative impact
Although the FIFA 2010 let South Africa get much profits and have obvious increase on the economy,
but there are many negative factors in it. For example South Africa government has invested about
45billions in FIFA 2010, and it has made about 49billions income for South Africa, it looks like the
expanses and income can balance, but the 75% of income need to hand over to The International

Rebecca Bloomwood Research Paper
Throughout this journal, one can see that Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing and
ecstatic. Initially, Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing for a diversified amount of
explanations. First of all, she went on a trip with her boyfriend and had to go a few days without
clothes. She has decided to make outfits on the go. Some people may believe that she is outgoing
because this is not easy to pull off. In addition, Rebecca is not afraid to take risks. She went on a trip
with Luke in a days notice. Rebecca may feel like she is being a good girlfriend by going on trips with
her boyfriend in a short notice and that s why she is so outgoing. In the text it states, there re a bit

Thirdly, when Rebecca was at the wedding she told everyone that Luke was there when he was really
not. This shows she is creative and can come up with any excuse on the spot. Some people may think
she is lying due to her stories she makes up as well as some people may believe she is innovated. She
interacts with people well and can start a conversation with any person. She also puts herself out there
like talking to people she does not know at the wedding. On the other hand, Rebecca Bloomwood can
be characterized as ecstatic for an assorted number of reasons. The first reason is she came up with a
motto to go by. In the book it states, My new motto is buy only what you need. I know, it sounds
almost too simple but it really does work. Before each purchase, I ask myself one question: do I need
this? And only if the answer is yes do I make the purchase. Its all just a matter of self discipline . This
quote shows that she gives herself a goal in her shopping problem to stop spend so much. People can

Royal navy
The government has also cut back on the amount power the Royal Navy for example The Royal Navy
flagship aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal will be decommissioned almost immediately rather than in

Also the cuts on helicopter will be made for example Either HMS Ocean or HMS Illustrious will not

King Lear Stereotypes
Gender Stereotypes in King Lear According to the Bible, man and woman were made by the same
materials, the same process, and the same hands. As time has passed, how these supposedly similar
creations are viewed as a whole, differs to a large extent through the use of premade judgements. In
King Lear, William Shakespeare shows how gender stereotypes are capable of going from complete
accuracy, to an entirely opposable turn. This is seen through the characters, Cordelia, who follows
gender stereotypes, Lear, who wavers between the two facets, and Goneril, who convoys reverse
gender stereotypes. One cannot change preinstalled thoughts, however there is the ability to diminish
them entirely. The act of following gender stereotypes is when one ... Show more content on

In addition, Lear enables reversed stereotypical qualities. These qualities are shown when Lear sees
Cordelia for the first time after he banished her, specifically when he says, You are a spirit, I know.
Where did you die? (4.7.49). In this passage, Lear is crying while calling his daughter an angel, a quiet
and peaceful quality that is not seen very often with men. A large sense of reversed stereotypes is
evident, as most men are afraid to cry because it seems like a sense of weakness, however here, Lear
has his guard and walls completely down. In addition to not liking to show emotion, men are also
known to not want to say anything that could be considered as mushy, which is the complete opposite
of what Lear is doing here. Conceal, don t feel, don t let it show unfortunately for Lear, whether he
knows it or not, his capability to be sensitive is showing. The above qualities reveal the fact that he
follows both gender stereotypes, as well as reversed gender stereotypes throughout the

Human Rights Advocates Should Be Improved Labor Conditions
THESIS When you look at the tag on a shirt and see Made in China what does that really mean? Quite
likely it was made in a hot, crowded sweatshop on the outskirts of a city or in some village. If you
were to survey a random group of individuals the majority would say they don t support sweatshop
labor, but how many could provide a legitimate argument against it?
The present state of manufacturing factories throughout Africa and Asia are consistently the center of
debate between humanitarians, economists, and consumers alike. This discussion is not a new one, by
modern standards, sweatshops have existed for centuries and will likely continue into the distant
future. The topic of debate is centered around the conditions endured by ... Show more content on

Therefore, any action to regulate or restrict someone s right to work in a manufacturing plant is a
violation of their personal liberty and detrimental to their current level of living.
So what is life in a sweatshop really like? What effects do manufacturing firms have on communities
and how should educated consumers respond?
CONTEXT
History
The existence of sweatshops can be traced all the way back 1500 s when Spanish Conquistadors
claimed control of Ecuador and forced natives to work in their textile mills. The term itself references
England s manufacturing industries throughout the 1800 s. In English factories immigrants would
perform monotonous actions for long hours and meager pay. As immigration into America increased
during the late 1800 s so did the quantity of sweatshops. The employers of these immigrants preyed
upon their lack of education and inability to read or write. Immigrants had to endure overcrowded
workplaces, poor sanitation, high expectations, and were rarely given the chance to take a break.
Nonetheless, they were more than grateful for the opportunities they were presented with and were
more than ecstatic to escape the hardships of their old lives. Eventually better working conditions
were established but not until America s economy had strengthened as a whole. Too many people try
to attribute improvements like the 40 hour work

The Abolition Of Slavery And The Civil War
Throughout American history there have been numerous civil rights movements and shifts of thoughts
and beliefs. One of the largest and arguably the most impactful movement was the movement to end
slavery. America has always been divided on the issue, and even to this day there are harsh sentiments
between different ethnicities. America made an official decision on the matter following a brutal and
violent civil war. The Thirteenth Amendment was passed on January 31st, 1865 and read: Neither
slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been
duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. This
amendment followed Abraham Lincoln s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Senate actually passed the amendment in 1864, yet the House of Representatives did not. Through
Abraham Lincoln s efforts with the Republican party, the House eventually decided to pass the
amendment with a vote of 119 to 56 in January, 1865. This established the Thirteenth Amendment as
part of the U.S. Constitution, only needing ratification by three fourths of the states. It was officially
adopted on December 6, 1865 and was a Constitutional amendment. Of the remaining states, all but
three had ratified it by 1870. Delaware ratified it in 1901, while Kentucky and Mississippi did not
ratify it until the second half of the 20th century. Kentucky ratified the Thirteenth Amendment in 1976
and Mississippi did not ratify it until 1995 (History Net, n.d.). The inclusion of the Thirteenth
Amendment in the U.S. Constitution meant that this particular issue was widespread and was also very
controversial. It put an end to one of the bloodiest American conflicts and also established boundaries
that America was to be a free country where everyone is meant to be equal. The abolition of slavery
was necessary to patch a divided country and to free those who had been forced to spend their lives
working for the gain of others, simply because of their skin color. Its inclusion in the

family in difficult times.
All to all, this movie is one of the best movies you could see, obviously if you like poignant movies
and you like to cry during the movie, that is why I recommend you to have a tissue box near, because
this movie really broke my heart and I cried so much that I really need Kleenex in that moment, but I
did not have, but also to have a very close friend to hold or even just to cry

Examination Of Biliverdin Ix Beta Reductase
Examination of Biliverdin IX Beta Reductase
October 10 2014
Joel Langford It is evident that there are many significant biological syntheses that take place in this
world. This includes the synthesis of bilirubin (BR) from biliverdin (BV) with biliverdin IX beta
reductase (BVR). BV is one of three products produced from heme being catalyzed by heme
oxygenase. Now, BVR, as seen in Figure 1, is known as an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of BV
s double bond to a single bond on the second and third pyrrole ring. In other words, BVR reduces BV,
which is hydrophilic, using NADPH and yields the product bilirubin, which is hydrophobic (1). The
schematic for this mechanism is shown below...
Schematic 1: It is important to note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper will examine the three dimensional structure of BVR and its specific interactions. Among
the 204 amino acid residues in BVR, its secondary structure contains alpha helices, beta sheets, and
turns, as seen in Figure 2 (4). The arrangement of these helices and sheets represents that of a
Rossmann Fold (5). The protein structure of a Rossmann Fold contains six parallel beta strands that
are linked to two pairs of alpha helices (6). In BVR, there are ten beta sheets, six of which lie parallel
forming the Rossmann Fold, and there are seven alpha helices which seem to be wrapping around the
Rossmann Fold, which explains the beta alpha beta alpha beta topological order. For example, this
includes the central beta sheet and the two groups of alpha helices. While it may seem rather easy to
comprehend, it seems important to make note of the simple interactions or facts relating to the
coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, NADPH, and the substrate mesobiliverdin,
MBV, which is a tetrapyrrole compound. To start, this reaction is a reduction reaction in which the
MBV is the compound being reduced. The NADPH, carrying hydrogens, is the reducing agent, also
meaning it is oxidized by the MBV (the NADPH simplified interactions with the protein and amino
acids can be noted in Figure 3. Now, on a side note, looking closely at Figure 4 and then comparing
the MBV (which is mesobiliverdin IV alpha) to heme, one can note that they look extremely

Cortical Atrophy Hypothesis
What diagnosis has been given to the individual? The client, Valerie, has been diagnosed with
Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Background:
Paranoid Schizophrenia can come on quick suddenly and disrupt a person s normal daily functions.
People suffering from paranoid schizophrenia prominently experience delusions and hallucinations.
Some individuals can be predisposed to schizophrenia due to cortical atrophy hypothesis or the
dopamine hypothesis. Cortical atrophy hypothesis believes that the patient s brain size can cause
schizophrenia, while the dopamine hypothesis argues that levels of dopamine in the brain are directly
related to the onset of schizophrenia. In the case of Valerie, she was recently diagnosed with Paranoid
Schizophrenia. Valerie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These pills caused several negative side effects for Valerie including tensions and banging sensations
in her head as well as making it very difficult for her to concentrate. Her doctor assumed that these
sides effects may be attributed to a possible allergic reaction to an ingredient in the pills. After
struggling with the reaction to the pills, Valerie eventually switched to Haldol shots which have been
quite successful for her for the past nine years. After switching she began to show the beginning
symptoms of recovery. Valerie attended a work program as well as other group programs offered by
the hospital and with time she soon felt capable to have regular conversations with people she came in
contact with. These improvements in her mental health allowed Valerie to be released from the
hospital. Once out of the hospital, Valerie acquired a job completing janitorial work through an
employment agency that caters to hiring disabled workers. She kept this job for seven years and later
switched

The Hero s Journey by Joseph Campbell represents the difficult journey a hero must go on to defeat the final battle, meaning that he must overcome a really difficult challenge to complete his journey and restore the world. In The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus experiences significant events on his journey home to Ithaca which includes Entering the Unknown; he receives Supernatural Aid; and he experiences the Supreme Ordeal related to Campbell s Hero s Journey. Some of the time the gift is simply wisdom (Campbell). The quote from The Odyssey is supported by the quote from the Hero s Journey because Athena, a goddess, is a supernatural element, and helps Odysseus by providing him information about the situation at his palace. Athena helps Odysseus with the means to complete his adventure by preparing him for his supreme ordeal. Odysseus must overcome his ultimate challenge, the supreme ordeal, in order to finish his journey. Odysseus has to kill the suitors that are trying to steal his wife and his kingdom. With Athena s help, Odysseus disguises himself as a beggar to sneak into the castle. He then plans out an attack on the suitors by trapping them in a room where he will kill them all off. After Odysseus successfully completes the challenge to shoot an arrow through several axe handles, he reveals himself and takes action on the suitors; he screams out You yellow dogs, you thought I d never make it home from the land of Troy. You took my house to plunder (Homer, 610) Part 2. The Hero s Journey identifies this is as the supreme ordeal as once the obstacle is overcome, the tension will be relieved... the worst is passed, and the quest while not officially over, has succeeded (Campbell). Delta Airlines Organizational Behavior Delta Air Lines: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Study Group Research Paper Management and Organizational Behavior School of Business and Mass Communication Delta Air Lines: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow A company must have a clear vision for success in order to succeed: a realization of what has worked for the company in the past, an understanding of the standing of the company today, and a vision for where the company will be heading tomorrow. Delta Air Lines is the epitome of a company that realizes what it takes to succeed with a clearly defined pathway to operational successes. The perception and expectations of the flight attendants was constantly changing. For years prior to the civil rights movement, Delta imposed strict rules on the women to include prohibition of children and marriage fearing such would interfere with work. As an added bonus, Delta used the women s availability as a way to lure businessmen to fly with Delta to be able to pick up eligible women (Whitelegg, 2011). According to one flight attendant, being associated with the airlines turned out to be a happy hunting ground for marriage partners for lots of young men and women with healthy hormones and honorable intentions (Whitelegg, 2005, p.16). Recognizing this, the image of the flight attendants become provocative as their uniforms became less formal. However, women still found their jobs were liberating because they were breaking the traditional model and perception of women s place in society. • 5. Analysis Of The Movie Temple Grandin During class, the teacher showed us two movies during the course of the semester revealing the lives of two important people and their significance of their actions.. The first movie was Temple Grandin , which told a story of a young woman who suffered repeated setbacks from her autism throughout the entirety of her life. Mostly, ridiculed by her peers and even in her male dominated profession, Animal Agriculture. Grandin remain persistent in achieving her goals and eventually overcame her oppositions one by one. Similarly, Invictus follows the familiar theme of rising against adversary with Nelson Mandela sworn into office after the disintegration of the South Africa s apartheid, the nation suffers low morale and division among each other. The Springboks, the national rugby team suffers criticism among the African, due to the colors representing the history of apartheid. Mandela embraced the Rugby team and encourage them to win the 1995 World Cup in order to unify the entire nation, with support of the president and the South African people the team eventually won the Cup and achieve unification. Overall, I believe Temple Grandin delivered the better picture than Invictus due to the use of flashbacks at moments to illustrate the story, accuracy in depicting the character, and suspense at certain parts of the film enhance my perspective. It is an attribute to the history and development of the city because it has been an influence on the social, economic and political spheres that are at the heart of society in New York. To develop an understanding of how political corruption shaped New York City and how it has contributed to the city s growth is essential to under the history of the city. It is important also to understand how people reacted to it, because it set a foundation for modern times and how people react to government and its role in society. My possible thesis for this research paper would be political corruption was an element to the growth of New York City following the civil war. Through questionable political tactics, officials used their power to negatively and positively push New York City into the 1900s, which would lead to political activism by the city s people looking for change. The most important aspect in understanding political corruption in New York City during the Gilded Age would have to be identifying how these officials were able to come into power and gain support. In the book, Party Games: Getting, Keeping, and Using Power in Gilded Age Politics, the author Mark Summers has examined just that. The tactics and approaches to government and interaction with New York City citizens were something that was very unique as well as new to American society. The corrupt officials ... We moved from an agrarian base to an industrial one. By the mid 50s the majority of jobs were found in factories. Manufacturing suffered heavy blows during the late 60 s and early seventies and was displaced by the service industry. With the closing of the 20th century those services have become increasingly technological. Surviving those changes requires adaptation, not only in the retooling of physical plants and the retraining workers, but also in the way we manage those workers. Some feel that there appears to be an underlying theme in books and papers on the subject of HRM, that there is only one correct way to manage people. (2) Maslow on Management offers a much different approach, demonstrating conclusively that one size does not fit all; i.e., that different people need to be managed differently. HMR models operating on the assumption that there is a single right way to manage people are using workplace criteria that are quickly becoming a thing of the past. The one way model views people working for an organization as employees who work full time and are solely dependent on that organization for their livelihood and their careers. These employees generally were viewed as subordinates with limited or very narrow skill sets. (3) These images of the worker may have been valid several decades ago. However, today every one of

John Dewey s Views On Politics And Human Endeavor In Pratt s informative book, claiming that a line of thought originated in large part with Northeastern U.S. Indian tribes is supposed to reflect well on that line of thought or on those tribes or both. That line of thought is roughly the thought of John Dewey, taken here as a culmination and summary of American Pragmatism. The characterization of pragmatism offered in the book is friendly toward it. Pragmatism, on Pratt s view, consists of four commitments to principles. These put the American school of thought in opposition to standard tendencies in the traditions of Western philosophy. 1. It also leaves out the serious and ongoing critiques of pragmatist arguments. Some of those are more serious than those Pratt does mention, such as Russell s objection to James view of truth. James proposes that truth is something to be judged in relation to human interests at issue, and Russell objects to the opening for relativism if those interests are thought a legitimate part of appraising truth. But some Wittgensteinian critiques are targeted at assumptions shared both by the pragmatists and their opponents and are based on concerns much like some of those which motivate the pragmatists suspicion of de contextualized abstraction and of the lines of thought leading up to the posing of philosophical questions. These objections, then, start with motivations like the pragmatists, but wind up with accusations that the pragmatists critiques are shallow and that the pragmatists wind up being driven by abstract pictures and lose track of examples. Because Pratt assumes throughout pragmatists are on the side of the angels, his book does not help those who might worry about that assumption. A detailed critique of the arguments for tracing all four commitments to American Indian sources would be worthwhile, but let s take a look at one for which the stakes are high. Alternative Dispute Resolution ( Adr ) Introduction Since litigation particularly in High Court is both expensive, time consuming and also the disadvantage of process being conducted to the public. Different parties with disputes have sought after other means of dispute resolution which is generally known as alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Alternative dispute resolution is basically a way of solving civil dispute. It is the collective term for the ways that parties settle civil disputes, with the assistance of an autonomous third party and without the need of a court hearing which often leads to a mutual understanding between both parties. In situations where mediation does not decide the case, a variety of other options which includes conciliation, arbitration, adjudication and private judging which is a rare option of ADR. Regardless of the historic opposition to ADR by many parties and their advocates, ADR has since gained widespread acceptance among both the public and the legal profession in contemporary years. In addition to this, courts now advice some parties to resort to ADR which includes mediation before approving the parties cases to be tried in court. The first practical use of alternative dispute resolution procedures began in the 1970s as a possible way for the disabling court backlogs and also a way to resolve environmental and natural resource disputes. In 1985, the Attorney General issued a directive identifying the need for ADR to drastically reduce the time and cost of litigation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Upton Sinclair originally intended to appeal to the public s heart concerning the conditions and the treatment of workers, it was obvious that the book had more of an impact on the meat industry. The public was outraged by the stories of waste meat being canned as wholesome meat, workers falling into vats and being processed as lard, and dead animals being processed when the inspectors weren t looking. Many people felt that the trials were unfair and that the Beef Trust had its hands in the politics that lead to the false innocence of the packing industries (Yeager 1906). In 1902, Dr. Harvey Wiley created the Division of chemistry, also known as the Poison Squad. This Division of Chemistry analyzed products that were created by the packing companies. They looked for any kind of dyes, preservatives, or adulterants that may have been added to the meats. The Division of Chemistry found, in the numerous products sampled, that the meat was wholesome and contained no adulterants, dyes, or any preservatives other than the types and amounts that were allowed. They also inspected meat packing plants to find that the sanitation was acceptable in almost all cases (Young 1908). The book gave examples of potted ham, which was said to be the waste of beef or pork. The pieces of meat were too small for any other product so they were gathered together and made into its own product. Some of the parts included tripe, which were supposedly dyed so that they would not appear white. Harvey Wiley at first was very pessimistic about this potted meat. Upon analyzing the product, he found that the meat was indeed wholesome and free of dyes or adulterants (Young 1908). In 1906, the Pure Food and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Tourism Is Essential For Tourism Essay 1. Introduction While there are many definitions of tourism, it is often defined as: people going from their usual areas to new areas. Tourism does not happen when one does not come from elsewhere to stay for one night or more. Every human has been a tourist whether it was domestically or internationally. As an industry, there is the supply side of tourism and the demand side. However, as a system, the industry as a whole is only a contributing factor of tourism. Leiper (1977) took a systematic approach to tourism; he considered it to be an open system; it has inter dependent components and is affected by external factors. This means that tourism does not work in isolation to the world that surrounds it, in fact the world around tourism is essential for tourism to be able to operate. We call a thing a system when we wish to express the fact that thing is perceived/conceived as consisting of a set of elements, or parts, that are connected to one another by at least one distinguishing principle (Jordan, 1981). Therefore, as Leiper s model suggests, Tourism is in fact a system. It consists of three interdependent components, or elements, which are all connected to each other. These components are: The geographical component, the human component and the business component. These elements rely on each other in the same way tourism relies on them as a whole and separately; the way a system s components rely on each other. As a whole, the tourism system is affected by and can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Film Analysis Of The Movie Ex Machina In this essay I will be taking an in depth look at the movie Ex Machina, and analyzing scenes of the film and look for a deeper meaning and possible foreshadowing of things to follow in the film. In the film Ex Machina, we are led to believe that the main points in the film are AI s and testing whether they can be conscious, have emotions and basically have all the qualities and traits a human portrays. Caleb who is believed to be chosen at random by Nathan to take part in being the person to test the AI, realizes that is all, but random as Nathan had a purpose in choosing Caleb to take part in his tests. While it may be somewhat accurate according to Nathan and the situation, I think the windowless rooms and the off limit rooms are to give off a sense of seclusion to the audience and also to Caleb in the film, as it helps contribute to his eventual meltdown towards the end of the movie. Another deeper aspect revolves around the relationship formed between Caleb and Ava, as well as how much Nathan knows about their relationship and everything he has to do with them having feelings for each other and his awareness of it. At first, you realize the power outages and you question as to whether Nathan is watching or not, because surely he knows Ava has something to do with it and he s not stupid enough to just let them happen and lose those few moments of knowing what they are talking about. Later, we see that Nathan does indeed know and sets up his own cameras, but the more I thought the more I wondered if he let them happen on purpose to get them to confess certain things to each other in those moments. Nathan being a programmer and a pretty smart guy, surely, he could fix the power outages ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The more people do not rely on government aid, the higher the chance the economy can get out of debt. A good majority of jobs in the job market require its employees to have some sort of college education: Associates Degree, Bachelor s Degree, Master s Degree, or a Doctoral Degree. Today, a Bachelor s degree is not efficient enough to get or keep a job due to high amount of competition. Being that college is so expensive, people do not see the advantage of getting a higher education. Setting aside four or five years to only be unemployed or being paid a low salary is simply not worth it to some people. In order for institutions to function, colleges and universities need to consider the objection that many people face when making the decision to attend college. Throughout my adolescents, my mother always exposed me to the positive side of going to college: better job opportunities, lasting friendships, sorority life. I was fortunate enough to go to a well accredit university on a scholarship. It only covered 5% of my college tuition, which was not much but it definitely allowed me to have extra money to purchase my textbooks. Another why people choose to attend college is to receive a refund check, which can be used to buy anything such as shoes, clothes, and televisions. So, there are more and more companies would like to come for investment, and their investment will be a strong motivation to the South Africa economy, it will make more and more employment opportunities, it will let the development be much faster. As time has passed, how these supposedly similar creations are viewed as a whole, differs to a large extent through the use of premade judgements. In King Lear, William Shakespeare shows how gender stereotypes are capable of going from complete accuracy, to an entirely opposable turn. This is seen through the characters, Cordelia, who follows gender stereotypes, Lear, who wavers between the two facets, and Goneril, who convoys reverse gender stereotypes. A large sense of reversed stereotypes is evident, as most men are afraid to cry because it seems like a sense of weakness, however here, Lear has his guard and walls completely down. Therefore, any action to regulate or restrict someone s right to work in a manufacturing plant is a violation of their personal liberty and detrimental to their current level of living. So what is life in a sweatshop really like? What effects do manufacturing firms have on communities and how should educated consumers respond? CONTEXT History The existence of sweatshops can be traced all the way back 1500 s when Spanish Conquistadors claimed control of Ecuador and forced natives to work in their textile mills. The term itself references England s manufacturing industries throughout the 1800 s. In English factories immigrants would perform monotonous actions for long hours and meager pay. As immigration into America increased during the late 1800 s so did the quantity of sweatshops. The employers of these immigrants preyed upon their lack of education and inability to read or write. Immigrants had to endure overcrowded workplaces, poor sanitation, high expectations, and were rarely given the chance to take a break. Nonetheless, they were more than grateful for the opportunities they were presented with and were more than ecstatic to escape the hardships of their old lives. One of the largest and arguably the most impactful movement was the movement to end slavery. America made an official decision on the matter following a brutal and violent civil war. The Thirteenth Amendment was passed on January 31st, 1865 and read: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. This established the Thirteenth Amendment as part of the U.S. Constitution, only needing ratification by three fourths of the states. It was officially adopted on December 6, 1865 and was a Constitutional amendment. Of the remaining states, all but three had ratified it by 1870. Delaware ratified it in 1901, while Kentucky and Mississippi did not ratify it until the second half of the 20th century. Kentucky ratified the Thirteenth Amendment in 1976 and Mississippi did not ratify it until 1995 (History Net, n.d.). It put an end to one of the bloodiest American conflicts and also established boundaries that America was to be a free country where everyone is meant to be equal. • 43. Examination Of Biliverdin Ix Beta Reductase Examination of Biliverdin IX Beta Reductase October 10 2014 Joel Langford It is evident that there are many significant biological syntheses that take place in this world. This includes the synthesis of bilirubin (BR) from biliverdin (BV) with biliverdin IX beta reductase (BVR). BV is one of three products produced from heme being catalyzed by heme oxygenase. Now, BVR, as seen in Figure 1, is known as an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of BV s double bond to a single bond on the second and third pyrrole ring. In other words, BVR reduces BV, which is hydrophilic, using NADPH and yields the product bilirubin, which is hydrophobic (1). The schematic for this mechanism is shown below... Schematic 1: It is important to note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper will examine the three dimensional structure of BVR and its specific interactions. Among the 204 amino acid residues in BVR, its secondary structure contains alpha helices, beta sheets, and turns, as seen in Figure 2 (4). The arrangement of these helices and sheets represents that of a Rossmann Fold (5). The protein structure of a Rossmann Fold contains six parallel beta strands that are linked to two pairs of alpha helices (6). In BVR, there are ten beta sheets, six of which lie parallel forming the Rossmann Fold, and there are seven alpha helices which seem to be wrapping around the Rossmann Fold, which explains the beta alpha beta alpha beta topological order. For example, this includes the central beta sheet and the two groups of alpha helices. While it may seem rather easy to comprehend, it seems important to make note of the simple interactions or facts relating to the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, NADPH, and the substrate mesobiliverdin, MBV, which is a tetrapyrrole compound. To start, this reaction is a reduction reaction in which the MBV is the compound being reduced. The NADPH, carrying hydrogens, is the reducing agent, also meaning it is oxidized by the MBV (the NADPH simplified interactions with the protein and amino acids can be noted in Figure 3. Now, on a side note, looking closely at Figure 4 and then comparing the MBV (which is mesobiliverdin IV alpha) to heme, one can note that they look extremely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
