Shawshank Redemption Analysis
Though Shawshank Redemption is not a story of faith, trust, and pixie dust, it still portrays the trials
that life presents to everyone. According to IMDb, this is the best movie ever made. This is probably
because of how much it teaches, and how many lessons it gives about life while also telling an
unforgettable story. Though there are so many themes represented in this movie, the three that are
mostly shown are very common, and relatable elements: hope, morality, and friendship. These three
themes show what they each can do to a person and what they can do to society. Shawshank
Redemption is a phenomenal story of hope, morality, and friendship. Friendship is defined as a state of
mutual trust and support, which is exactly what it means to the characters in this movie. Each prisoner
in Shawshank knows who everyone is what they have done to get where they are. The important part
of that is that they all are there for the same reason: crime. Since nobody can contact friends and
family, they all rely on each other for the support that they need. Every single person was loyal and
supportive of his fellow inmates, including the new guys. An example of this is the conversation
between the Warden and Tommy Williams. The Warden started off by saying, I need your help, son. If
I m going to move on this, there can t be the least little shred of doubt. I have to know that what you
told Dufresne was the truth. To this Tommy quickly replied, Yes, sir. Absolutely. Seeing that

The Evolution of Anticruelty Laws
Soon, many groups were concerned about how animals were being treated. Anticruelty laws were first
passed in Great Britain. The United States quickly followed, responding to the animal welfare groups;
insisting that the government needed to act to prevent unnecessary cruelty to animals (Judson 20).
This movement grew rapidly across the United States. In 1829, New York passed the first anticruelty
law prohibiting the malicious injuring or killing or farm animals such as horses, oxen, cattle or sheep.
By 1907, every single American state had passed anticruelty acts. By 1923, most states prohibited the
practice of neglecting and abandonment, cockfighting, and some types of hunting methods of animals
(Judson 21). Throughout the 1800s, animal welfare groups in Great Britain and the United States
pushed for their governments to pass laws to protect animals from methods such as slaughter and
animal experimentation. In 1824, welfare groups in London were already being formed. The first
society was formed, called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Guither 2).
Later, in 1835, public policy was passed in Great Britain to consolidate and amend the several laws
relation to the cruelty and improper treatment of animals (Guither 2). Decades later, in 1911,
Parliament passed the Protection of Animals Acts, which is still n effect today. Harold D. Guither,
author of the book Animal Rights: History and Scope of a Radical Social Movement, describes this

Harm Principle Argument Analysis
Harm can be understood by many individuals in a multitude of ways; however, one theory that would
not agree with Donald Trump s claim concerning the American Flag would be Mill s Harm Principle,
as the only harm that constitutes regulation is physical harm when it concerns our rights. Mill states
that limitations cannot be placed on one s freedom of liberty if no injury is created thus (Mill, On
Liberty 71 75). Being offended by the burning of an American Flag, for example, would not require
any form of regulation of this symbolic, since it does not cause physical injury. Mill also supports the
acceptance of this symbolic speech, as a form of maximizing social utility and happiness, while
lowering government coercion/control. In addition, Feinberg expands upon this utilitarian ideal to
include the other forms of harm that fall within the extent of our rights, where he scrutinizes various
instances of emotional/psychological harm (e.g., embarrassment, disgust, fear) to make the individual
question if the harm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Devlin claims that, as society evolves, whether desired to or not, we will also change with society. As
societal practices and values begin to change over time, some people and their values will not want to
follow the progressive trend but are forced to anyways. If one does not choose to adopt the new
societal views, the individuals may not feel comfortable with expressing their views. Consequently,
this progression would be seen, from Devlin perspective, as a form of regression, as we are losing our
values. As a critique to Mill s Harm Principle, even if it does not physically harm someone, one is still
harmed by the act, since society is built and modified based on the social practices. More explicitly,
conservative communitarians would view the acceptance of flag burning as a social practice of society
that will lead it to fall apart if it changes the values that it was built

A Report On Rms And Altisource Essay
Summary of Progress from Prior Month s Report
RMS has been working with Assured, Ocwen and Altisource since the transfer of assets from Power
REO to Ocwen on February 28, 2013. RMS continues to see instances where data appears incorrect
and/or inconsistent. It is generally limited to current and original list price and date and as of recently,
the estimated close date. As a result, statistics on days on market ( DOM ) may be inaccurate due to
these data issues and when Days on Market are noted in this report they are RMS calculated estimates.
Since RMS began working with Altisource, there have been 628 assets included in the REO project.
555 (86.5%) have liquidated
87 (13.5%) are active
Forward Looking Objectives and Goals
RMS and Altisource have weekly calls to review assets in critical status from a timeline perspective,
aged assets in all REO stages and assets that have other issues identified by RMS. In November 2016,
RMS continued to focus on the following primary areas of concern:
I. Altisource s Valuation and marketing process including (i) setting an initial list price at an
appropriate market value to generate activity and offers; (ii) the evaluation or assessment of property
condition and its impact on the market value of the property; and (iii) a clear strategy designed to
liquidate assets for the highest net proceeds to the Trust in the shortest amount of time
II. Overall asset and timeline management, particularly relating to foreclosure

How Was Gandhi s Assassination Justified
Is the Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi Justified? Even though, many people disagreed with
Mahatma Gandhi s beliefs and morals that does not justify his assassination. Mahatma Gandhi was the
main leader of the Indian Independence Movement from British rule. He played a big part in
demonstrating peaceful protest as India successfully broke away from the British rule. Gandhi was
assassinated at the age of seventy eight on January 30th, 1948 by Nathuram Godse. The reasons for
why Godse assassinated Gandhi were because of religious differences that they believed. These
reasons are simply just major differences in beliefs and they are not justifiable to assassinate someone
for, especially someone that is a hugely well known peace maker. Overall no matter how severe your
differences of beliefs are with someone, it does not make it reasonable to assassinate them. ... Show

When Gandhi was assassinated the world shook. This was because Gandhi was overall such an
influential person and he is referred to as The Father of the Nation (India). Gandhi had achieved
something in his life that had never been done successfully before in history of mankind: throw out an
empire by non violent civil disobedience. His innovations, ideas, and values were hugely influential
on Martin Luther King Jr and may other peaceful leaders. He wanted to retain all of British ruled India
as an independent country for very good reasons. The main reason was that partition created an enemy
on India s border. In order for him to unify India through his policy he had to promote the idea of
mutual respect among the religions. This caused Hindu extremists to view him as a muslim lover
because this policy made it seem like he was only biased to the muslims. Just because he wanted to
form a compromise and end religious conflict, that does not mean he favored the Muslims because he
valued peace and love more than

Melba Beals Warriors Don T Cry
I am reading Warriors Don t Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals. I have read pages 107 150 these weeks. The
prompt I have chosen this week is How characters react to changes that are happening. Three claims
supporting this prompt are how Melba is scared, worried, and brave when reacting to her
surroundings. One way Melba reacts to her surroundings is how she is scared. Melba has gone through
practically terrorism while attending Central High School and has only eight friends, whom she can
barely stay in contact to, and a very small amount of military guards. It has been stated multiple times
throughout the book of how horrified she is at her school. From being choked to being trapped in a
flaming bathroom, she has been put in multiple near death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Melba walks into Central High School, she is walking into a possible murder scene and she is
perfectly conscious of this. It takes serious bravery to still attend a school in a time of racism, and you
have minimal friends and allies. She has been choked, burned, kicked, punched, had acid splashed in
her face, and too many insults to count. Melba has to do this five days a week, and can t do anything
to stop this, but instead just do whatever she can to stay alive and defend herself. If that doesn t take
courage and persistence, and most importantly, bravery, I don t know what does. Quotes to support
this are on page 117: It will take a lot more patience and more strength from me, but it s going to
work. It takes more time than I thought. But we re going to have integration in Little Rock. and on
page 118: I wanted to turn and run away, but I thought about what Danny had said: Warriors survive.
This shows that Melba is often exhausted with all the things she has to focus on, and it really does
require a lot of willpower to continue going to the school where she is hurt continuously. If you were
to ask people today if they could stand what Melba was going through, the answer would most likely
be no. She handled a lot of situations well as she developed through the book and displayed that she
could be fearless at certain points.
In conclusion, Melba reacts to her surroundings by being scared, worried, and brave. Melba, in my
opinion, is the most influential member of the Little Rock Nine because of her constant strength
against the segregationists and being able to withstand racism every day. It is important that she reacts
because it often positively affects the movement to integrate more black students into Central High

Ideal Women In The 1950 s
1900 s
Creation illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. (Not a real person at first)
Lots of girls inspire to be like the drawings.
Turned into up to date fashion and style.
Ideal women was: o to be slender and tall o voluptuous bust but not lewd o Rounded shoulders o
Smooth neck o wide hips o thin waist o up to date in fashion and style o Physically active and in good
health. o Fragile
Idea women was to have big hips, they would do this by using a corset to pull in the waist and create
an S shaped body.
Later they had a contest to find the ideal women in real life.
They found various models and stresses such as Camille Clifford

They never left home without like their best.
Ideal models in this period are Marilyn Monroe and grave Kelly
Today many girls complain that they re under far more pressure to have a perfect, fit body than
women were in the 1950 s, But ladies back then were as sexualised and pressured.
Example: Take the pin up girls: Glamous models or actresses whose photos were produced and meant
to be pinned up on a wall. The photographs were also illustrated. This ment the illustrates (the
especially men) were able to e.g tuck in their waist, plump up breasts, similarly to do what Photoshop
does now, creating an unreal human form. The ideal female body may have been heavier back then,
but it was just as criticized and retouched as it now.
In this decade many people in society were shammed for being skin in the same way the media
shames fat figures now.
Most advertisements from the 1950s describe skinny women as being hopeless in relationships.

The Ethical Controversy of a Nurse`s Role in Harm Reduction
Harm reduction can be defined as an approach that aims to reduce the consequences of high risk
behaviours such as injection drug use on the individual and on society as a whole. Harm reduction
programs provide injection drug users with access to a clean injection environment, sterile injections,
drug preparation equipment and safe disposal of contaminated material at the time of injection. Staff
members in harm reduction facilities provide health teaching, anonymous HIV testing, information on
addiction treatment, condoms and assist in connecting clients to social and health services (Semaan et
al., 2011; Ball, 2007). Although, the benefits of harm reduction are evident through reduction of

Staff also provide emergency response when needed immediately, and may call for support from
ambulance personnel in more severe cases. Emergency responses include providing oxygen and in
cases of an overdose sometimes administer an opiate antagonist (Kerr, 2007).
Sharing of needles used by injection drug users contributes heavily to the spread of blood borne
diseases, accounting for almost one third of new HIV infections outside sub Saharan Africa (Ball,
2007). Various studies support that blood borne disease transmission and contraction are strongly
linked to injection drug use. A study conducted by Semaan et al. that analyzed data of 10,301 persons
who inject drugs in revealed that 32% had shared syringes during the 12 months prior (Semaan et al.,
2011). A second study involving 309 injection drug users found HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C
prevalence of 42.4%, 80.9%, and 74.1%, respectively. The study also revealed that 63.8% of the
participants engaged in indirect sharing practices within six months prior.

any type of compensation to new customers or transferred prescriptions until October 2008. Walgreens
customers receive an average of four prescriptions on a monthly basis from the pharmacy (WAG
Annual Reports, 2007). With 65% of the sales revenue of the company coming from the pharmacy,
Walgreens declines to bargain with out of pocket customers over price. Regardless of a climbing
prescription drug price trend, demand remains elastic because customers demand choices of similar,
less expensive medications if authorized by their doctor. The amount of reimbursement Walgreens
receives from Medicare, Medicaid, and Worker s Compensation falls drastically, as incremental
revenues from those sources decreases (Stewart, 2006). According to Lueck, Medicare and Medicaid
comprise 25 percent of the federal budget, and the government cannot afford to spend at the current
rate (Lueck, 2008). In order to maintain relationships with customers, retail pharmacies resorted to
buying sections of Medicare Part D insurance companies: AARP Walgreens vs. CVS Caremark

the burden of responsibility that the employees must carry with outcomes that they have little control

not communicating with each another. Some of the employees are experiencing high levels of
communication barriers called noise in their attempts to communicate with one another. A few
employees have language barriers with Yu and do not share a similar codebook meaning they do not
share the same language. The employees are reluctant or having difficulty in communicating their
issues to the executive director. In holding back it additionally is not allowing them to effectively re
organize work in light of the budget cuts and costs to the organization. Ted also did not communicate
clearly job role perceptions for his employees. Another communication barrier that is evident with Ted
is the imperfect perceptual process of his sending and receiving skills. Industry Analysis KSF In the

Metaphors In The Grasshopper
The Hangman (upon his Death bed) concerning his beheading his late Majesty, Charles the first, King
of Great Britain; and his Protestation and Vow touching the same; the manner how he was terrified in
Conscience (Brandon 1649). Literature such as this introduction to the confessional of King Charles
executioner, John Milton s Lycidas, and Richard Lovelace s The Grasshopper prove that where there is
social unrest, there will be writing that responds to it, and mid seventeenth century England had a lot
of chaos to consider. War disagreements and corruption within England s church were key occasions
that censored and shaped the work of Milton and Lovelace. Milton s repeated use of symbols,
metaphors, and indirect allusions to the clergy in his poem speaks volumes about the political control
and religious tensions in England. Lovelace s royalist themes, and careful juxtaposition of words and
allusions in his poem convey the leisure and political opposition of the Cavalier men to the Puritans.
The context and literary devices in both contribute to making them skillfully crafted cultural
references indicative of the rising tensions during which they were composed.
In Lycidas, John Milton pays careful attention to detail while he commemorates the death of Edward
King, his old classmate, and discusses themes of pastoral life in his pastoral elegy. He begins with a
bitter tone in the first four lines:
Yet once more, O ye laurels, and once more

Food Stamp Program Thesis
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as the Food Stamp program, was
established as a safety net against hunger and malnutrition for low income Americans and their
families. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance programs help millions of families, seniors, people with
disabilities, and low wage working Americans afford access to enough food. Food stamps was first
introduced to the American public as a pilot program during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Mabel
McFadden of Rochester, NY was the first food stamp recipient. She paid four dollars and received six
dollars worth of stamps in return.
An orange stamp could buy any food, while a blue stamp was good for only what the Department of
Agriculture deemed to be in surplus. That program lasted through the early 1940s. Food stamps were
revived in the 1960s as part of the war on poverty, but Americans still had to pay for their stamp
coupons. For the poorest, that was a hardship. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

coupons have been replaced by debit like EBT cards. The program is also a key support for working

yet in the United States today, 15.6 million households are estimated to be food insecure. 40 percent of
those eligible for food stamps miss out on benefits. Many do not know they are eligible, others find
the process too difficult. Even those on food stamps benefits can run out before the end of the month,
creating tough choice about whether to buy food or pay bills. Charities and churches provide some

Slim Down Research Paper
Best 5 Foods to Slim Down
Overview
Americans spent approximately thirty billion a year on slim down products in vain. New research
highly states that, there are more than a thousand foods fighting hunger, boosting metabolism, and
ultimately helping lose weight. Thereby, grocery shopping is the best for a person to do, to slim down.
Small amounts of healthy fats induced food, helps one to feel full for long and ease absorption of fat
soluble vitamins. Overtime, science has proved that eating more fats cannot make any person fat.
However, picking the right amount of fats is one of the unique tricks for losing weight. Here are the
best 5 foods to slim down:

This is because, antioxidants known as catechins are what aids in burning of fats and speeding
metabolism. A recent study conducted in Japan shows that 35 men who drink a bottle of oolong tea
combined with green tea catechins lost more weight than those who didn t. Their metabolic rates were
also found to be higher. Most notably, they exhibited a significant reduction on body mass index
(BMI).
5. Fruits for food
a) Pears
They are recognized for their high fiber content. They are also great in in filling a person up. They
contain pectin fiber, which decreases blood sugar levels thereby aiding one to avoid in between meals
during the day. A Brazilian study found that overweight women who ate three small pears a day lost
more weight as compared to women who took the same diet but ate three oat cookies a day, instead of
fruits.
b) Coconut oil
Coconut oil has more saturated fats than any of the other cooking fats. This kind of fat has little effect
on cholesterol levels. It converts energy easily as compared to other fats. Therefore, it helps in weight
loss. Saturated fats contain lauric acid. This is a unique lipid that battles bacteria and improves
cholesterol levels. In addition, dietary use of coconut oil reduces abdominal obesity.

How Does Tim O Brien Use Mental Flashbacks In The Things...
Throughout 1964 to 1975 the Vietnam War was taking place on Korean soil in South Vietnam. Many
young soldiers were called to serve during the war including Tim O Brien. In the story The Things
They Carried, Tim O Brien illustrates realistic views by camouflages his past experiences of the
combat to expose the immorality of the war and the life cycle of an American soldier during this era.
As the story unfolds we see evidence of camouflage by O Brien as he creates a replica of a typical day
of a soldier s life with mental flashbacks. Unlike the soldiers, O Brien was engaged with his own pass

A Brief Look at Walmart
Wally world also known as Walmart, is a corporate retail store that has made a major impact in people

advantage of Walmart is its low price. Wal Mart supports slogans like We sell for less and Always on

Analysis Of The Financial Ratios Of David Jones
The following financial report provides an analysis of the financial ratios of David Jones with its close
competitor in the retail sector, Myer. The financial ratios analyzed include profitability ratios, leverage
ratios, efficiency ratios and market ratios for the two companies. The analysis utilizes individual
company time series analysis as well as industry cross sectional analysis with the aim of determining
the competitiveness of David Jones relative to its close competitor Myer.
Introduction
Financial ratio analysis is a valuable tool that allows one to assess the success, potential failure or
future prospects of the company (Bazley 2012). The ratios are helpful in spotting useful trends that
can indicate the warning signs of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Profitability ratios are used to measure the overall efficiency of thebusiness, as well as management
effectiveness. Examples of profitability ratios include the gross margin ratio and the net margin ratios.
Gross profit margin
The gross profit margin measures the amount of profits that a company generates from its operations
without consideration of its indirect costs. Thehigher thegross profit margin, the greater the efficiency
of a company s operations (Besley Brigham 2007). It means that the company is generating enough
income to cover its operating expenses. On the contrary, a lower gross profit margin indicates that the
business is not generating adequate income to cover its operating expenses.
The formulae for calculating gross profit margin is David Jones gross profit margin for the past three
years has remained stable with minimal fluctuations. The following calculated figures are for the year
2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013; 39.73%, 39.10%, 37.50% and 37.8% respectively. Such an observation is
desirable as it is indicative that the company is financially stable as it is generating enough income to
cover its operating expenses and make savings. It suggests that the industry in which the company
operates has not experienced drastic economic fluctuations that can affect the company s cost of goods
sold. However,

Louis Silvie Zamperini
Louis Silvie Zamperini was born to Italian immigrant parents on January 26, 1917, in the town of
Olean, New York. Growing up in Torrance, California, Zamperini ran track at Torrance High School
and discovered that he had a competitive streak a mile wide when it came to long distance running. In
1934, Zamperini set the national high school mile record, and his time of 4 minutes and 21.2 seconds
would stand for an incredible 20 years. His track prowess also caught the attention of the University of
Southern California, and he earned a scholarship to attend. It wasn t long before Zamperini was taking
his love of track to the next level, and in 1936 he headed to New York City for the 5,000 meter
Olympic trials. Held on Randall s Island, the race ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All but one of the three men survived those 47 days at sea. They had to survive on rain water and birds
that would land on the raft for food and something to drink. The two men were burnet to a crisp and
had sun blisters all over there body. After the forty seven days on the raft made them week.
In captivity across a series of prison camps, Zamperini and Phillips were separated and subjected to
torture, both physical and psychological. They were beaten and starved, and Zamperini was singled
out and abused repeatedly by a camp sergeant called the Bird, who would tear into fits of psychotic
violence. Yet Zamperini, as a former Olympic athlete, was seen as a propaganda tool by the Japanese,
a scenario that likely saved him from execution.
For months Zamperini lived in daily fear of the man he came to regard as an inhuman monster. But
late in 1944 Watanabe was posted to another camp. In March 1945, with American B 29 bombers
raining incendiaries over Tokyo, Zamperini and a group of fellow prisoners were moved to a camp
known as 4B at Naoetsu, an industrial village on Japan s west coast. On arrival Zamperini was
dismayed to find that Watanabe, too, had been transferred to the same camp. It was, Zamperini told his
biographer Laura Hillenbrand, the darkest moment of his

Persuasive Essay On Conspiracy Theories
The Internet has played a large role in my interest in conspiracy theories. Although I definitely do not
believe all of them, they are fun to look into and are good tools for procrastination. Falling deeper into
the hole that is Wikipedia, I spent a large amount of my free time researching them. It got to the point
where I had to force myself to actually work on homework instead. However, I am not one of those
crazy conspiracy theorists; I am only interested in ones that seem legit. All interesting conspiracy
theories have similar qualities. A majority of them involve the government or celebrities. And
depending on the theory, they are believable.
My personal favorites all happen to involve the government, some classics included. It is said that
9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush to purposely start a war with Afghanistan. Some survivors
recall that they heard separate explosions at the time of the attacks, which has led people to believe
that there were pre planted explosives inside the Twin Towers. It is a well known fact that the towers
collapsed at one point, but this is seen as suspicious to many conspiracy theorists. A common known
phrase among believers is jet fuel can t melt steel beams. Another widely believed theory is that the
Royal Family killed Princess Diana. There are a few versions, one of which is that they killed her to
prevent her from exposing the Family for being awful and corrupt. The other is where she was killed
for loving a man of color,

His groundbreaking achievements have impacted life as we know it. David Baltimore is one man
whose impact on society will be felt for generations to come. Baltimore changed the way that
scientists viewed the genetic theory, overturning the belief that genetic information flowed in one
direction from DNA to RNA. This was essential to research and discoveries made about the HIV
virus. Baltimore s work with cancer research was also pivotal to society. The implications of his
research led to new discoveries in medicines as well as applications to which treatments could be
made. Here real strides were made towards helping with cancer, specifically leukemia. David
Baltimore s hard work was acknowledged with his earning of the Noble Prize for Physiology or
Medicine. Baltimore would then proceed to further his research by operating his own laboratory and
advancing his work. With specific experiments on mice, Baltimore was able to study genes, which
were fused with the cancer cells, and apply this information to a new type of drug that would be used
on the genetic level. Baltimore has held many key positions and prestigious institutions such as;
M.I.T., Caltech, and Rockefeller university. Besides research, Baltimore was also involved socially
and politically with issues affecting society. He was an early advocate for AIDS and he helped the
issue gain recognition that would be essential to treating the disease. David Baltimore s work with
cancer causing viruses has led to breakthrough discoveries towards medicine and treatment. Simply
put, David Baltimore has impacted society in so many ways. He has not only conducted the research
but has also been an advocate for causes impacting his research. Baltimore s tireless work to his field
helped to make medicines and applications that impact society as a whole. His work has changed the

Negative Effects Of Bullying
I. Introduction: Mistreatment and intimidation are common occurrences within childhood and
adolescent peer groups. These actions can be detrimental to the social relationships of those involved,
leaving an enduring impact on one s ability to socialize and interact with those around them. Due to
the severity of the potential harm bullying can cause, much research has been conducted on how
bullying can influence the lives and actions of those associated with it. In order to address the issue of
bullying, one must first understand not only the impact it may have, but the factors that influence how
those involved are affected. These factors include the role one plays in the bullying, the method
through which the bullying occurs, and the gender of the victim. This research has demonstrated how
complex the relationship between victims of bullying and their fellow peers can be, as well as how
damaging this phenomena is on those who experience it.
II. First Theme: The negative effects of bullying extent beyond the individual targeted, leaving a
lasting impact on all parties involved.
1. First Point: Though bullying has a significant impact on victim themselves, it also affects the social
relationships of both the aggressor and of any student who witnesses events (Pouwels, 2016; You,
2016).
2. Second Point: Victims of mistreatment among peers report having fewer friendships, feeling less
optimistic about peer relationships, having higher feelings of loneliness, and feeling less

The Great Gatsby Book Cover Essay
My cover for the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald features the symbol which would be
the green light that is mentioned in the story book. The symbol, which again is the green light,
symbolizes Gatsby s unrequited love for the beautiful and fair Daisy. Jay Gatsby likes to look up and
gaze at the twinkling stars, until he saw the green light that is in Daisy s house that is across from his
own house. Gatsby does not realize this at first because he thought that the green light was a star, but
in actuality it is a light in Daisy s house. The cover that I have drawn for the book The Great Gatsby
by F. Scott Fitzgerald depicts Jay Gatsby, the main character of the book The Great Gatsby, walking
down a street that is lit up by the overhead green street lights. ... Show more content on

My book cover for the book The Great Gatsby goes very well for the real book because Jay Gatsby
knows so much about Daisy and he would have done anything to get hold of her attention, and Daisy
does not know what Jay Gatsby is up to until later in the story. I, Mauricio B. Romero, personally
selected this symbol for my cover because it has a much bigger and thoughtful meaning, therefore it is
easy to put into a state of imagery. I wanted to show Jay Gatsby would walk a street to street just so he
can be with the one woman he wants to be with. Even if Daisy does not know what is going on or does
not know much about the man, that won t stop Jay Gatsby from trying continuously in different ways
to get her in his grasp and for them to be happy together. So, that concludes this explanation and I am
typing this conclusion just so I can get my word count up to 350 or above. Mrs. Striblen, you better
not make me retype this because I am at a loss of

The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand
The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand Problems
The 1920 s witnessed a rise of a new economic policy which had not yet been seen prior to the great
depression. Before the great depression, the widely accepted economic policy which was implemented
and practiced around the world was called Natural Economics. Natural Economics was a fiscal policy
that embodied the idea that the economy would eventually take care of itself and run freely without
the government s influence. However, the duration of the Great Depression was so substantial that it
exposed natural economics to be ineffective. This lead British economist John Maynard Keynes to
invent his own economic policy that he introduced to economist around the world with the ... Show

In circumstances; such as war, Keynesians economic policy provides a near perfect solution for
boosting an economy. However, without a war to force an increase in demand, an increase in
government spending would snowball into a business cycle of aggregate demand problems. Aggregate
Demand is the total demand for goods and services within a market and consists of four main
components; investment, consumption, government spending and net exports. These coincide directly
with Keynesian s economic fiscal policy. For boosting aggregate demand is the primary focus and
supposed key to Keynesians fiscal policy solution. Since aggregate demand coincides directly with
Keynesian s economic policy, all of the policy s long term problems become aggregate demand
problems. With Keynes policy s increase in government spending comes an initial boost in consumer
spending which then boosts aggregate demand. Businesses increase supply and expand to meet this
boosted demand. However once the fiscal stimulus package runs out, the once increased aggregate
demand begins to decrease. The federal reserve begins to then print more money in order to
compensate for the recently depleted fiscal package in order to maintain the aggregate demand levels.
Additional printing of money lowers the value of the dollar thus causing inflation. As inflation rates
rise in the economy consumers purchasing power decreases. With consumers purchasing power

Since the second year of my degree, I have consistently maintained a distinction average throughout
university whilst also working at Witchery, teaching dancing, volunteering, undertaking regular

Why I Want To Be A Drummer
Drummers are perennially underrated. Some writers make rock critic jokes, even other musicians
make drummer jokes. But where would the Beatles be without their drummer Ringo Star. The real
human drummer was replaced with electronic computer machines during the eighties and nineties for
a while, but music fans realized that this was not as good as the sound of a real talented drummer. The
drummer does not just support the band they hold it up and push the forward. Robert Plant, the lead
singer of Led Zeppelin was very fond of his drummer, John Bonham, who was one of the best
drummers out there during his time and even today. When he passed away the lead singer could not go
on anymore in the band Led Zeppelin, because he knew it would not be the same without his original
and super talented drummer. The loss of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This goes to show just how important the drummer is and how they can keep a band together.
The argument on how much practice it takes to be a drummer is essential for new musicians to learn
about because if they truly want to be a drummer they must know that it is not the usual go to
instrument in a band. It takes so much patience and practice to become a good enough drummer to
even be in a band. It is also imperative to know how much work goes into becoming the drummer
because some fans may view the drummer as just the guy or girl in the background where they need to
realize how a band cannot be a band without the drummer. This argument is also for the drummers out
there who need to receive more recognition from their fans. Drumming has been around forever, and it
is such remarkable instrument to learn. Drummers may also

Reasons For The Schlieffen Plan
The Schlieffen plan was made started in 1894 by the German Chief of Staff Alfred von Schlieffen in
the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Von Schlieffen continued making the plan until 1903, then the plan
was revised in 1903 later being carried out in 1906, 12 years after he started creating the Schlieffen
plan, knowing that he would be attacked from two sides of Germany, Russia attacking from the East
and France attacking from the West. Von Schlieffen Created the Schlieffen Plan in 1905 when he was
German Chief of Staff. Germany wanted to take out France in the west before Russia could mobilise
their troops to attack the east side of Germany, they did this because they were scared that they would
be attack from both sides of Germany and be taken off the world map. So they attack France because
they felt they were more of a threat as they could mobilise their troops quickly, then Germany would
transport their troops through railway tracks to the east to attack the Russian soldiers, therefore having

  • 2. Shawshank Redemption Analysis Though Shawshank Redemption is not a story of faith, trust, and pixie dust, it still portrays the trials that life presents to everyone. According to IMDb, this is the best movie ever made. This is probably because of how much it teaches, and how many lessons it gives about life while also telling an unforgettable story. Though there are so many themes represented in this movie, the three that are mostly shown are very common, and relatable elements: hope, morality, and friendship. These three themes show what they each can do to a person and what they can do to society. Shawshank Redemption is a phenomenal story of hope, morality, and friendship. Friendship is defined as a state of mutual trust and support, which is exactly what it means to the characters in this movie. Each prisoner in Shawshank knows who everyone is what they have done to get where they are. The important part of that is that they all are there for the same reason: crime. Since nobody can contact friends and family, they all rely on each other for the support that they need. Every single person was loyal and supportive of his fellow inmates, including the new guys. An example of this is the conversation between the Warden and Tommy Williams. The Warden started off by saying, I need your help, son. If I m going to move on this, there can t be the least little shred of doubt. I have to know that what you told Dufresne was the truth. To this Tommy quickly replied, Yes, sir. Absolutely. • 3. The Evolution of Anticruelty Laws Soon, many groups were concerned about how animals were being treated. Anticruelty laws were first passed in Great Britain. The United States quickly followed, responding to the animal welfare groups; insisting that the government needed to act to prevent unnecessary cruelty to animals (Judson 20). This movement grew rapidly across the United States. In 1829, New York passed the first anticruelty law prohibiting the malicious injuring or killing or farm animals such as horses, oxen, cattle or sheep. By 1907, every single American state had passed anticruelty acts. By 1923, most states prohibited the practice of neglecting and abandonment, cockfighting, and some types of hunting methods of animals (Judson 21). Throughout the 1800s, animal welfare groups in Great Britain and the United States pushed for their governments to pass laws to protect animals from methods such as slaughter and animal experimentation. In 1824, welfare groups in London were already being formed. The first society was formed, called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Guither 2). Later, in 1835, public policy was passed in Great Britain to consolidate and amend the several laws relation to the cruelty and improper treatment of animals (Guither 2). Decades later, in 1911, Parliament passed the Protection of Animals Acts, which is still n effect today. Harold D. Guither, author of the book Animal Rights: History and Scope of a Radical Social Movement, describes this act, station ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Harm Principle Argument Analysis Harm can be understood by many individuals in a multitude of ways; however, one theory that would not agree with Donald Trump s claim concerning the American Flag would be Mill s Harm Principle, as the only harm that constitutes regulation is physical harm when it concerns our rights. Mill states that limitations cannot be placed on one s freedom of liberty if no injury is created thus (Mill, On Liberty 71 75). Being offended by the burning of an American Flag, for example, would not require any form of regulation of this symbolic, since it does not cause physical injury. Mill also supports the acceptance of this symbolic speech, as a form of maximizing social utility and happiness, while lowering government coercion/control. In addition, Feinberg expands upon this utilitarian ideal to include the other forms of harm that fall within the extent of our rights, where he scrutinizes various instances of emotional/psychological harm (e.g., embarrassment, disgust, fear) to make the individual question if the harm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Devlin claims that, as society evolves, whether desired to or not, we will also change with society. As societal practices and values begin to change over time, some people and their values will not want to follow the progressive trend but are forced to anyways. If one does not choose to adopt the new societal views, the individuals may not feel comfortable with expressing their views. Consequently, this progression would be seen, from Devlin perspective, as a form of regression, as we are losing our values. As a critique to Mill s Harm Principle, even if it does not physically harm someone, one is still harmed by the act, since society is built and modified based on the social practices. More explicitly, conservative communitarians would view the acceptance of flag burning as a social practice of society that will lead it to fall apart if it changes the values that it was built ... • 5. A Report On Rms And Altisource Essay Summary of Progress from Prior Month s Report RMS has been working with Assured, Ocwen and Altisource since the transfer of assets from Power REO to Ocwen on February 28, 2013. RMS continues to see instances where data appears incorrect and/or inconsistent. It is generally limited to current and original list price and date and as of recently, the estimated close date. As a result, statistics on days on market ( DOM ) may be inaccurate due to these data issues and when Days on Market are noted in this report they are RMS calculated estimates. Since RMS began working with Altisource, there have been 628 assets included in the REO project. 555 (86.5%) have liquidated 87 (13.5%) are active Forward Looking Objectives and Goals RMS and Altisource have weekly calls to review assets in critical status from a timeline perspective, aged assets in all REO stages and assets that have other issues identified by RMS. In November 2016, RMS continued to focus on the following primary areas of concern: I. Altisource s Valuation and marketing process including (i) setting an initial list price at an appropriate market value to generate activity and offers; (ii) the evaluation or assessment of property condition and its impact on the market value of the property; and (iii) a clear strategy designed to liquidate assets for the highest net proceeds to the Trust in the shortest amount of time II. • 6. How Was Gandhi s Assassination Justified Is the Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi Justified? Even though, many people disagreed with Mahatma Gandhi s beliefs and morals that does not justify his assassination. Mahatma Gandhi was the main leader of the Indian Independence Movement from British rule. He played a big part in demonstrating peaceful protest as India successfully broke away from the British rule. Gandhi was assassinated at the age of seventy eight on January 30th, 1948 by Nathuram Godse. The reasons for why Godse assassinated Gandhi were because of religious differences that they believed. These reasons are simply just major differences in beliefs and they are not justifiable to assassinate someone for, especially someone that is a hugely well known peace maker. Overall no matter how severe your differences of beliefs are with someone, it does not make it reasonable to assassinate them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Gandhi was assassinated the world shook. This was because Gandhi was overall such an influential person and he is referred to as The Father of the Nation (India). Gandhi had achieved something in his life that had never been done successfully before in history of mankind: throw out an empire by non violent civil disobedience. His innovations, ideas, and values were hugely influential on Martin Luther King Jr and may other peaceful leaders. He wanted to retain all of British ruled India as an independent country for very good reasons. The main reason was that partition created an enemy on India s border. In order for him to unify India through his policy he had to promote the idea of mutual respect among the religions. This caused Hindu extremists to view him as a muslim lover because this policy made it seem like he was only biased to the muslims. Just because he wanted to form a compromise and end religious conflict, that does not mean he favored the Muslims because he valued peace and love more than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Melba Beals Warriors Don T Cry I am reading Warriors Don t Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals. I have read pages 107 150 these weeks. The prompt I have chosen this week is How characters react to changes that are happening. Three claims supporting this prompt are how Melba is scared, worried, and brave when reacting to her surroundings. One way Melba reacts to her surroundings is how she is scared. Melba has gone through practically terrorism while attending Central High School and has only eight friends, whom she can barely stay in contact to, and a very small amount of military guards. It has been stated multiple times throughout the book of how horrified she is at her school. From being choked to being trapped in a flaming bathroom, she has been put in multiple near death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Melba walks into Central High School, she is walking into a possible murder scene and she is perfectly conscious of this. It takes serious bravery to still attend a school in a time of racism, and you have minimal friends and allies. She has been choked, burned, kicked, punched, had acid splashed in her face, and too many insults to count. Melba has to do this five days a week, and can t do anything to stop this, but instead just do whatever she can to stay alive and defend herself. If that doesn t take courage and persistence, and most importantly, bravery, I don t know what does. Quotes to support this are on page 117: It will take a lot more patience and more strength from me, but it s going to work. It takes more time than I thought. But we re going to have integration in Little Rock. and on page 118: I wanted to turn and run away, but I thought about what Danny had said: Warriors survive. This shows that Melba is often exhausted with all the things she has to focus on, and it really does require a lot of willpower to continue going to the school where she is hurt continuously. If you were to ask people today if they could stand what Melba was going through, the answer would most likely be no. She handled a lot of situations well as she developed through the book and displayed that she could be fearless at certain points. In conclusion, Melba reacts to her surroundings by being scared, worried, and brave. Melba, in my opinion, is the most influential member of the Little Rock Nine because of her constant strength against the segregationists and being able to withstand racism every day. It is important that she reacts because it often positively affects the movement to integrate more black students into Central High ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Ethical Controversy of a Nurse`s Role in Harm Reduction Harm reduction can be defined as an approach that aims to reduce the consequences of high risk behaviours such as injection drug use on the individual and on society as a whole. Harm reduction programs provide injection drug users with access to a clean injection environment, sterile injections, drug preparation equipment and safe disposal of contaminated material at the time of injection. Staff members in harm reduction facilities provide health teaching, anonymous HIV testing, information on addiction treatment, condoms and assist in connecting clients to social and health services (Semaan et al., 2011; Ball, 2007). Various studies support that blood borne disease transmission and contraction are strongly linked to injection drug use. A study conducted by Semaan et al. that analyzed data of 10,301 persons who inject drugs in revealed that 32% had shared syringes during the 12 months prior (Semaan et al., 2011). Walgreens customers receive an average of four prescriptions on a monthly basis from the pharmacy (WAG Annual Reports, 2007). With 65% of the sales revenue of the company coming from the pharmacy, Walgreens declines to bargain with out of pocket customers over price. Regardless of a climbing prescription drug price trend, demand remains elastic because customers demand choices of similar, less expensive medications if authorized by their doctor. The amount of reimbursement Walgreens receives from Medicare, Medicaid, and Worker s Compensation falls drastically, as incremental revenues from those sources decreases (Stewart, 2006). According to Lueck, Medicare and Medicaid comprise 25 percent of the federal budget, and the government cannot afford to spend at the current rate (Lueck, 2008). • 12. Metaphors In The Grasshopper The Hangman (upon his Death bed) concerning his beheading his late Majesty, Charles the first, King of Great Britain; and his Protestation and Vow touching the same; the manner how he was terrified in Conscience (Brandon 1649). Literature such as this introduction to the confessional of King Charles executioner, John Milton s Lycidas, and Richard Lovelace s The Grasshopper prove that where there is social unrest, there will be writing that responds to it, and mid seventeenth century England had a lot of chaos to consider. War disagreements and corruption within England s church were key occasions that censored and shaped the work of Milton and Lovelace. Milton s repeated use of symbols, metaphors, and indirect allusions to the clergy in his poem speaks volumes about the political control and religious tensions in England. Lovelace s royalist themes, and careful juxtaposition of words and allusions in his poem convey the leisure and political opposition of the Cavalier men to the Puritans.
