Why Dogs are The Best I believe Dogs are better pets than cats. I have owned three dogs and

better pets. More United States households own a dog, than cats. Cats cough up fur balls. Dogs are
good listeners and are fun to play with. Just think about it with a dogyou don t have deal with a

3. Blocking Diode Is Useful Tool For Limiting The Direction...
Blocking diode
The blocking diode is a helpful tool for limiting the direction energy can flow through a wire to just
one direction. It uses a semiconductor P/N junction achieve this behavior.
The diagram shows a simple setup with two panels charging a battery (for simplicity no controller
is shown) with a blocking diode in series with the two panels, which are also wired in series. When
the sun shines, as long as the voltage produced by the two panels is greater than that of the battery,
charging will take place.
However, in the dark, when no voltage is being produced by the panels, the voltage of the battery
would cause a current to flow in the opposite direction through the panels, discharging the battery, if
it was not for the blocking diode in the circuit.
Blocking diodes will be of benefit in any system using solar panels to charge a battery. Blocking
diodes are usually included in the construction of solar panels so further blocking diodes are not
required. Most photovoltaic solar panels are used to charge a battery during the daytime. Nearly
all panels come equipped with a blocking diode. The diode prevents DC current from flowing
backwards from the battery bank into the panel at night. The usual blocking device of choice is a
schottky diode with a typical 0.5v voltage drop. In some large panels, which can often source over
4 Amps of current, the power loses due to this voltage drop

4. A Few Good Men Plot Summary
An orphaned young girl teams up with a former enforcer, as they are pursued by a ruthless Mexican
mobster.
STORY COMMENTS
THE STRENGTH OF TEN MEN is a captivating action, thriller. The strength of this story is no
doubt the complex and highly compelling characters that drive the plot. The core characters are
thrust into a harrowing life and death situation where the stakes are extremely high.
The script offers intriguing twist and turns. There are solid themes about trust, family, believing, and
faith.
The idea of a young orphan girl teaming up with an enforcer is an appealing plotline. There s a
smart twist when the enforcer turns out to be the person who killed the young girl s father. In
addition, a ruthless Mexican mobster hunts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the most part, it sounds crisp and has a nice rhythm. The voices of the characters are consistent
with their personalities and reveals information about them.
The only area that should be polished is the running gag about whores. This is still overdone. It s
funny in the beginning, but then loses its charm. The discussion about big dicks isn t all that
engaging.
The overall tension works best in the opening. The conflict and tension in the second act can be
stronger if there s more of an urgency and ticking clock. The current pace hinders this. The tension
doesn t enhance again until the midpoint.
The script is professionally presented although there are a few minor typos (pages 4, 45, and 54).
Also, the character of Dennis introduced twice.
SUMMARY MARKETABILITY
The plot is engaging and merits consider with revisions, especially in the first half of the script
regarding the goal, tension, pace, and action.
The strengths of this script are the characters and they can attract talent.
The action is also well crafted.
The script should be marketable in both the domestic and international market.
The script should appeal to the mainstream action, thriller audience.

ABSTRACT
This study deals with the reliability, availability, and busy period characteristics of single unit
system. On failure of the system, if system can be repaired in short time then repair will be
continued, otherwise in order to improve availability another substitute system taken from outside
is used, which is guaranteed for failure free operation and an expert repairman is called for fast
repair of the unit. Assuming failure and repair times as exponentially distributed, expressions for
the mean time to system failure (MTSF), the steady state availability and busy period for system
are derived using linear first order differential equations. A particular case for the proposed system
is discussed in which substitute system was not considered. Also comparison is performed
graphically to observe the effect of the proposed system on Availability.
Keywords: Availability, Linear first order differential equation, Mean Time to System Failure,
Reliability, Steady State Availability.
1) INTRODUCTION
Competition exists in every field, to keep ahead a major challenge is availability improvement of a
system, as less availability has negative impact. People often use availability and reliability
interchangeably. In fact, however, the two terms are related but have

6. The Higher Price of Higher Education
The High Price of Higher Education In America s society today, students are expected to follow
the path of day care, grade school, middle school, high school and hopefully college. Growing up in
America today, the importance of education is stressed starting at the earliest stages of
development. In a world with a competitive job market and with citizens who want to make the
most money that they can, a college education is key in success. For some students, financing
college is not a problem. Money should not be a factor in the student s decision making process
when choosing what school to attend, but unfortunately many people are unable to attend the

If this is the case then there should be documentation of these increases but, academic institutions
have made little effort either on or off campus to make themselves transparent to explain their
finances, (Tuition Rising). There is no documentation that describes what every penny of tuition
pays for. It is only stated that it goes toward administrative costs, faculty salaries, technology,
Federal regulation, endowment, State appropriations, (Tuition Rising). But why are the costs
rising? Patrick M. Callan, president of the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education,
states that there s not much going on in either private or public higher education that is very serious
about cost control, (Tuition Rising). He believes that Underlying all this is that more kids are
graduating from high school every year, most of them want to go to college, and so it s a seller s
market. Universities raise tuition because they can, (Tuition Rising). This makes us wonder if
universities are tricking us of our money since they have not documented where tuition is going. In
order to avoid confusion from students and parents who want answers, the government should
require institutions to have documentation of what tuition is funding.
Financial aid is a popular choice for students to fund their college education, which presently costs
an average of $15,566 for an undergraduate student

9. Pros And Cons Of The Government Shutdown
November 14, 1995 is a day that is remembered by some as a terrible day in history. While
November 19, 1995 is a day most Americans are grateful for. These are the dates the government
shutdown, and the date that the shutdown concluded and the headaches were over for the citizens
of America. Or so they thought. A partial government shutdown again proceeded to happen on
December 16, 1995 to January 6, 1996. It is days like this that made America what it is today (E.
Green). In 1995 President Bill Clinton and Republican House were in a stalemate. They could not

Gingrich. Clinton and Gingrich were fighting over how the budget should be cut. Contrary to

President Bill Clinton obtained many of his votes due to how he handled the shutdown and the
Republican house. Potentially, if Clinton didn t have to manage the shutdown then he may have
not been reelected. Maybe America would have been better off with a new president, but we
cannot change that past. What is done is done and we have to live with our choices that we have
made. When people think of the government shutdown many think of quite simply the downfalls.
This is most logically because the negatives of a government shutdown over power the positives.
Just like most things though, there were some plus sides to the shutdown. Gingrich stated that
the shutdown led to a balanced budget deal, and without the shutdown it may have never been
arrived at (E. Green) Neither side ever wanted the issue to become so out of hand that it was
forced to shut down, but that is what it led to. The shutdown was tough for both sides. Most
Americans believe that the shutdown was the Republicans fault, (National Journal) but it was
actually fault on both sides. Both sides were too bullheaded to realize the consequences that
could arise and solve their problems without a fight. There is no perfect way to solve this
problem. Mainly because it is over a big issue. Potentially if one side would have been more willing
to work together, maybe some of the dispute could have been resolved

10. Hysteria And Realism In Dickens Simulacra
Introduction: The term realism has a long history but the formal trend beginning with mid 19th
century Anglo Francophone writers, depicting contemporary life and society as it was, or is,
authors opted for depiction of everyday life and banal activities and experiences, instead of a
romanticized or similarly stylized repetition. But now the Post realist aesthetics situated within a
Baudrillarean realm of Simulacra has come to dominate much of contemporary fiction. The
reality is so much than the real one. The code doesn t present prior social reality. It creates a new
social reality, created or simulated from models or defined by reference to models generated from
ideas. This cybernetic game ultimately results in loss of reality: the first phase displays basic

12. Human Skin
1.1. Anatomy and Function of Skin:
The Human skin is the largest single organ of the body, with a surface area of one to two square
meters and accounts for approximately 16% of total body weight. It protects the body as an outer
barrier from external pathogenic factors and excessive water loss. The skin is composed of three
main layers: the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis or subcutaneous layer1,2.
Epidermis:
The epidermis is the outermost layer of mammalian skin and contains four types of cells:
keratinocytes, which make up 90% of the cells found in this layer, Langerhans cells, melanocytes,
and Merkel cells. The epidermis is a stratified squamous epithelial layer, containing keratinocytes
organized in four main different strata (i.e. stratum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Routes of skin penetration:
There are two diffusional routes to penetrate into human skin: the transappendageal and the
transepidermal routes.
The transappendageal route or so called the skin shunts comprises transport via hair follicles,
sweat ducts and sebaceous glands. There is relatively small surface area (approximately less than
0.1% of total surface) for this route and may be of some importance for ionic molecules or large
polar compounds. In addition, the relative surface area of the shunts in different areas of the body
may be various. For instance, in the scalp, the density and size of hair follicles are much greater
than in other location on the skin such as on the back12.
The transepidermal pathway is principally responsible for diffusion across the skin. This route can
be defined as the pathway where compounds permeate across the stratum corneum by using two
different passages: the transcellular and the intercellular13,14.
The intercellular pathway is generally regarded as the main route of permeation of most compounds
and provides a significant route by enhancing interaction with lipid remains in the corneocytes. The
transcellular (a polar pathway) pass through corneocytes and interleaving lipids15,16. Figure 1

13. Film Films Of Alfred Hitchcock
Films of Alfred Hitchcock
Humans have an insatiable urge for entertainment, part of which is often satisfied through
watching movies. Whenever a movie is written and subsequently produced, there are a couple of
themes that accompany it. Though all movies have a significant amount of simulated actions,
many of the themes do occur in the real life. Writers tend to have a particular thought to develop
into a plot, which is often inspired by real life events. Then, when a movie is being written and
produced, the relevant personnel decide which genre to adopt. Horror, science fiction and action
are some of the categories for movies. In this paper, the focus lies on a 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film,

As noted with the other movies, there is hardly a film with a single theme; many have more than
even two, and Psycho is no exception. Even though it has a number of these, this paper, as
already indicated will primarily focus on sexuality, violence and phallic of proxy. When Crane
decides to vanish with her employer s money, the boss unfortunately, sees her. Consequently, this
causes her to be nervous, and makes wrong decisions in the process. After overcoming the
seemingly opposition fronted by a police officer who finds her asleep, Crane continues to a motel
called Bates motel, belonging to a Mr. Norman Bates(Smith, p14).
Up to that point, one can see several themes including that of symbolic economy. First, when
Crane decided to steal the money, the financial pressure she was experiencing catalyzed the
decision. It is not always that horror movies are used in relation to money related issues, and
especially in matter of debts. Yet, movies have a way of affecting people in a number of positive
ways especially when the plot resonates with the normal life. According to Breslin (p.176), the
media, especially through the movies influence and influence the human behavior significantly.
When showing a woman who decides to elope with the employer s money, the Psycho captures the
mind of the viewers as it related with the cases they face each day.
The issue of symbolic economy in the movie is not limited to the theft

Age related macular degeneration also known as AMD is a disease leading to severe vision and
legal blindness in the elderly population. I will address the health condition description and the
disability and functional implications who suffer from this disease.
For the health condition description of age related macular degeneration I will discuss the etiology,
onset, prevalence rate, body systems, body structures, and associated deficits that come and are
associated with this disease. AMD is the degradation of the cells at the center of the retina which is
the layer of tissue at the back of the eye that registers light. The macula is responsible for ventral
vision, which enables us to read, drive, participate in sports, and do anything else that requires
focusing directly ahead. Macular degeneration distorts the heart of the vision field (Macular
degeneration, 1998). Sunlight and smoking are both influences of the onset of AMD (Age related
Macular Degeneration (AMD), 2014). It is suggested to avoid intense bright sunlight which may
help reduce the retinal degeneration. Hats, sunglasses and any other accessories that can help
protect the eyes from the sun are suggested. Cigarette smoking has also been linked to increasing
the risk of developing AMD and it is recommended that persons should stop smoking to decrease
their chance of developing AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration (AMD), 2014). AMD does
not develop until the sixth or seventh decade of life, although early

TWO DIMENSIONAL ELECTROPHORESIS (IEF)
The different methods of separations of a mixture, to get one particular constitute of the mixture
are available now. The separation methods are based on the charge present and on migration rate
and on applied electric field are known as electro kinetics methods. Many methods are available
which are based on the electro kinetics method. Methods like electrophoresis, isotachophoresis,
isoelectric focusing and related techniques are available for the separation the components from the
mixture. This separation of molecules depend upon the many parameters like temperature, pH,
ionic strength, viscosity, applied electric field, concentration of electrolyte, surface charge, net
charge of molecule etc. These parameters are very important for separation.
Electrophoresis is the technique which monitors the charge of the molecule under the electric field
applied and separates the molecule by considering parameters like electrophoretic mobility, charge,
size of the molecule.
Isoelectric focusing requires constant electric charge with the different pH gradient on the gel and
due to this molecules get separated according to their isoelectric point.
Isotachophoresis uses different electric field with the combination of pH gradient for the separation
of the molecules or charged species.

22. Homeless People s View On The Homeless
Here in America there is a high percentage of homeless people. People often label homeless
people as lazy, not willing to work, or they believe they are just looking for hand out. But that is
just other people s views on the homeless. My point of view is that maybe they had a rough start
in life, or something happened to them or maybe they didn t have a mother or father figure in
their lives to tell them right from wrong. Other might of grown up in broken homes which might
of caused them to be the way they are. Lastly, since they didn t have anyone there for them they
might of not known how to keep a job, known right from wrong and that is why they are put in a
position that they are now. Although there is people who are actually suffering due to the fact
that they are homeless there are people who pretend to be homeless just so they can get an extra
couple bucks. That s probably why some people actually believe that people are just lazy.
Personally, I believed that homeless people were actually homeless until the day I witnessed
something unbelievable. As I made my way out of the supermarket with my parents I saw a
young man roughly around the age of 30 asking for money. He was dressed okay compared to
other homeless people but I didn t think much of it until I saw the same guy about three blocks
away talking on a cellphone and getting into a brand new car, and yes he was the driver. That was
the day I probably became skeptical about homeless people. Although there

A person s normal pH range is between 7.35 and 7.45. (Tortora, G., Derrickson, B. H. ,2014 01
22). This range is important for the body to function properly. There certain conditions that can
cause the pH range to fluctuate. Acidosis is a condition in which the blood pH is below 7.35 and
alkalosis is a condition in which the blood pHis higher than 7.45. Significant changes in pH range
can affect cellular function and possibly lead to death. Your blood needs the right balance of acid
and basic (alkaline) compounds to function properly . (George, K., 2013)
Respiratory acidosis is a condition that happens when there is too much carbon dioxide in the lungs.
When this happens, the blood becomes too acidic. People with respiratory acidosis will have a
pH less than 7.35 with a PaCO2 greater than 45mm HG. (sitelms.org) This particular form of
acidosis can be caused by diseases of the airways, lungs, and chest. It can also be caused by
diseases that may affect the nerves and muscles that tell the lungs to inflate or deflate. Certain
narcotics may cause this to happen as well. If respiratory acidosis does not become too severe the
kidneys will help to raise the blood pH to the normal range. The kidneys increase the amount of
hydrogen it releases and the reabsorption of bicarbonate. When medical treatment is necessary, it is
usually aimed at the underlying disease, or cause of the condition. (.nlm.nih.gov, 2016)

31. Analysis Of The Yoknapatawpha River In As I Lay Dying
Spring; hurricane. Much as these are both related to water, they differ greatly in their impact on
societies while one brings hope and life to weary travelers, the other brings struggle accompanied
by death. Throughout most of literary history, writers have explored this idea of poly indicative
identity, whether that be with the vast depths of water or some other symbol, and William Faulkners
novelAs I Lay Dying is no exception to this idea. From rivers to the fish that inhabit them, As I
Lay Dying is composed with a symphony of different symbols, however, one of the more
persistent ones is that of the river. By incorporating certain aspects of the Yoknapatawpha River,
Faulkner is able to allow the work to flow more smoothly, more easily incorporate ideas about the
themes of death and barriers, as well as enhance the characterization of certain figures. A symbol
is, at its base, a literary object, an object that besides holding a symbolic meaning also holds a literal
one. Although the symbolic is generally focused upon in class, the literal must not be forgotten,
for it can often be just as important the primary focus for literal objects is in terms of plot
development and flow. In the novel As I Lay Dying, the Yoknapatawpha River is used to provide
a physical barrier for the Bundren family. As the Bundrens, and some of their neighbors, are

Sex Trafficking Sex trafficking is the trade of humans, most commonly for the purpose of sexual
slavery, forced labor, or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. This may
encompass providing a spouse in the context of forced marriage, or the extraction of organs or
tissues, including for surrogacy and ova removal.Sex trafficking is a very dangerous thing to be
going on in this world. Human traffickingcan occur within a country or trans nationally. The Metro
Atlanta area ranks number one in sex trafficking.
HOW IT STARTED
Although human trafficking is being carried on from ancient times, there is very little information
on when did it start. So, when did human trafficking start? There is a mixed response to it. Some
people believe that human trafficking actually started in the 1700s when small children were
exploited for work. Debates raged for years among feminists about free and forced prostitution, and
whether or not all prostitution should be included in the definition of sex trafficking. Sex
trafficking is horrible. Many people believe that prostitution is apart of sex trafficking, it could be
in a way, but also it is not. Prostitution the women are willingly selling their bodies and on the
other hand sex trafficking the women are being kidnapped or tricked into thinking they will be in a
better lifestyle. WHO?

American lives were not only different from that of their white counter parts, but that the writings
were relevant for the historical period and beyond. Another Harlem Renaissancewriter who led the

Practically everyone in the story has a hidden agenda for his or her actions. The protagonist, a 22
year old named Helga, was a teacher at an institute of higher learning called Naxos where the
true agenda was not education but instead was teaching Blacks their accepted status in life lower
than that of Whites. She became convinced that she needed to leave Naxos after hearing a

that if everyone acted like those from Naxos there would be no race problem, because Naxos
Negros knew what was expected of them because they knew enough to stay in their places

workers at Naxos, who truly believed they were preparing the students for better lives and
sympathy for Helga who tried to convince the new principle, Dr. Anderson, as to the true state
of affairs. Helga failed to realize, however, that Dr. Anderson was aware of the situation at Naxos
but felt that for change to occur there needed to be more people like you, people with a sense of
values, and proportion, an appreciation of the rarer things of life (Larsen 1735). Helga mistakenly

because of her belief that being able to trace one s ancestry was more important that one s actions

35. The Differences Of Genesis And Popol Vuh
It is important to believe in something. There are many fascinating, mysterious aspects of life
which cannot be revealed scientifically. Creation stories help us explain the unexplainable. There s
a big variety of them , different societies and different beliefs. Every culture provides its own
narration of the creation of the world, each unique but containing themes that are universal to many
civilizations. Genesis is the Hebrew people s idea of how it all began, how humans came to be.
Popol Vuhsums up the Mayan people s theory of the Earth s birth. Even though all that the gods in
both of the stories want is obedience, their attitude toward the people contrasts one another, which

They look down on humans, owing to the fact that the Gods are their creators. Surprisingly, that
s the only thing the Hebrew version of God and the Mayans vision of their creators have in
common. To put it briefly, God in Genesis is very forgiving, generous and fair. What s interesting
is that He seems to be giving humans a second chance by letting Noah and his family survive the
flood. Afterwards God promises Noah to not do anything that would harm the human race again
I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all
flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh (Applebee p.73). This only
demonstrates God s good intentions and his willingness to help. To change the topic, in Popol Vuh
the gods are extremely strict and demanding. They treat people poorly. The only reason they create
them is because they feel the need to be worshipped. They are very tough and punishing. By way of
contrast to Genesis, in the Popul Vuh, the story ends with the people remaining imperfect and
ignorant. There is no redemption for

Cultural Differences and The Impact On The Communication Process
Alberts, Martin and Nakayama (2011) describe communication as a transactional process in which
people generate meaning through the exchange of verbal and nonverbal messages in in specific

on to state that intercultural communication occurs in interactions between people who are
culturally different. (p.122) Cultural differences thus affect many interactions, with the
communication process being one.
The movie that I studied was Django Unchained. It follows a German bounty hunter, Dr. King
Schultz and his recently acquired free slave, Django as they go across America in search of

The first real evidence of genetics role upon athletic performance came with the publication of the

38. Reaction Paper On Piezoelectric Ceramics
Piezoelectric ceramics are inorganic nonmetallic materials that have the property of achieving
conversion between mechanical energy and electrical energy [1]. This property is called
piezoelectricity. Curie brothers first discovered piezoelectricity in 1880. Their experiment
demonstrated the generation of electricity when well prepared crystals of quartz were under
mechanical pressure. Inversely, a mechanical distortion occurred in response to the voltage applied
to a piezoelectric material [2]. Typical crystals such as quartz, tourmaline, and Rochelle salt exhibit
piezoelectric effect but they mostly exhibit only a weak piezoelectric effect, usually have low
mechanical strength. Some ones are very sensitive to moisture and their operated temperature...

Applications of piezoelectric ceramics can use both direct and converse piezoelectric effects.
Generally, by applying compressive stresses, a charge or high voltage is generated due to the
direct piezoelectric effect, while the converse piezoelectric effect leads to small displacements
caused by applying an electric field to the ceramics. Acoustic and ultrasonic vibrations can be
generated by an alternating field tuned at the mechanical resonant frequency of a piezoelectric
device and can be detected by amplifying the field generated by vibration incident on the
material, which is usually used for ultrasonic transducers. The flexor transducer consists of two
piezoelectric ceramic thin plates poled in opposite directions and can be used in gramophone
pick ups and ultrasonic accelerometers. The generation of surface waves enables filters and
other devices to be made for use at frequencies exceeding 1GHz. Applications of piezoelectric
materials have now expanded into many fields since the discovery of the effect by the Curie
brothers in 1880. Significant progress in applications was made possible after the discovery of
PZT ceramic materials. Piezoelectric devices can be divided into four general categories:
generators, sensors, actuators, and transducers depending of what type of physical effect used. For

Running head: A LITERARY REVIEW OF CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT
Celebrity Endorsement in Mass Media Advertising Brands Celebrity endorsement in mass media
advertising has become a very beneficial phenomenon for many countries and has significantly
increased in the past decade, and should be the main principle of brand communications since it is
the key to marketing success. Any product that is displayed in a television commercial or magazine
advertisement by a corporation that uses a celebrity or well known public figure to give a
testimonial or information about the product, is practicing celebrity endorsement. Although
commonly thought of starting in the United States, celebrity endorsement began in India during the
80s but has since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was dropped from her endorsements from large companies Burberry, H M, and Chanel, when
photographs of her snorting cocaine surfaced in magazines and websites. Companies using a
celebrity endorser take into account the serious consequences (loss of revenue, bad image) of
putting a tainted face to their product since as stated above, the brand s whole personality is often
dependent on the celebrity endorser.
Another aspect that is taken into account pertaining to the effectiveness of the celebrity endorser is
to directly measure the degree that the consumers evaluate the celebrity as genuinely liking the
product that they are endorsing. According to Gilbert and Malone (1995), these evaluations are
recognizable under a type of judgment called
correspondent inferences. Correspondent inferences generally refer to a judgment that consumers
observe the endorser s behavior in the advertisement to then infer consistent character in the
endorser. For example, the consumer would observe an athlete saying he loves the breakfast cereal
Wheaties, and then the consumer would infer that the athlete really does, in fact, like Wheaties.
Adding to this study, McCracken (1986) suggests that a celebrity that best represents the
appropriate symbolic properties of the product should be selected, thus, highlighting the importance
of the cultural meanings of celebrities in the endorsement process. Culturally speaking,

42. The Warrior Achilles
The warrior Achilles, within the final year of the Trojan War, has shown why he is a skilled warrior
and revved individual, nearly godlike. In addition to that, at times throughout the lliad, showing his
humanity in moments that have touched him dearly. As it is portrayed throughout the lliad, when it
came down between the embassies of Priam and Agamemnons, it would be a decision which
Achillesmakes ultimately for his own reasoning and benefit. It would be Priam, who would be
able to sway the great Achilles in the return of his son s body, while Agamemnon s would
ultimate fail. It would be for the reason which Priam and Achilles shared in a moment of loss for
individuals they cared for deeply. That it is with the aid of Priam s embassy, that Achilles is able
to further reach in achieving his goal of honor and undying fame.
The relationship or lack thereof between Achilles and Agamemnon would put them at odds
constantly, both having different agendas and views in regards to the war. Early in the
beginning, we saw that honor was an important factor for Achilles, which was a part of his
ultimate end goal. In the scene between Achilles and his mother, he says, Mother, since you bore
me for a short life only, Olympian Zeus was supposed to grant me honor. Well, he hasn t given me
any at all. Agamemnon has taken away my prize and dishonored me., (lliad Bk 1 pg. 17) which in
one of the instances that shows a divide between them. That it s not about having a prize , but the

43. NCR Country Club Case Study
NCR Country Club was chartered as a benefit for the majority of National Cash Register
employees. NCR employees by late 1990s were aging rapidly, and their core membership was
declining drastically. NCR country membership club was not attracting new members, especially
young families within its precinct. NRC needed to increase and attract as many social groups as
possible. NCR management board confined to McMahon consulting Group to steer the country
club in a new strategic direction.
If you were McMahon Group, how would you present the findings of your study to the NCRCC
board? Explain the rationale for your chosen method.
Data presentation of research findings will depend on the research methodology used to collect
data. Research data can be collected by using qualitative or quantitative techniques. Mc Mahon
group used focus groups which are a qualitative method of collecting data. The analysis and
presentation of data in qualitative research rely on the use of words to explain the research
findings. Raw data collected from either primary or secondary sources need to be in a form that
can facilitate analysis and interpretation. Results of the study, for instance, can be presented by the
use of graphs, pie charts, and tables. Evaluating which of this approach is suitable depends on the
intricacy and amount of data presented (Attride, 2001).
Qualitative research methods use semi structured and unstructured methods to collect data. The
limitations of qualitative

44. Munro s Argumentative Essay
I will discuss now whether No Advantages causes the readers to identify the homodiegetic narrator
to the author, offering an autobiographical pact to the reader. Beforehand, I want to point out that
returning to the author must not necessarily means to equate author and narrator simply (see
Kumray 32f). In contrast to this, I more interested in revealing the rhetorical strategy that leads the
readers to assume that the author speaks to them, and not a narrator ontological independent from
him/her. Obviously, the easiest way to provoke this equation is that the author and the narrator
share the same name (see Kumrey 43). However, information about the author that the readers have
and can relater to the narrator lead likewise to identitify... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, she quotes the above mentioned report on valley that inspirited the title of the story
(see Munro 3). Also, other sources to which Munro refers, namely the Blackwoods Magazine (I)
and the The Minstrelsy of the Scottish Bard (I), reappear in No Advantages again (see Munro 19,
26). The narrator does exactly the same that the author announced in the foreword, including her
remark about the reports on the ancestors that resemble stories. To select one arbitrary example, the
author reports in the foreword that Walter Scott had visited her ancestor to gather Scottish ballads
(Munro I). In No Advantages, the readers also encounter a narrative how Scott visits one of her
ancestors (see Munro 21ff). Thereby, she changes from a homodiegetic I narrator to a
heterodiegetic one, as she would tell a story: Walter Scott was an outsider of sorts, an Edinburgh
lawyer now appointed to a high post in his familyВґs traditional territory. (Munro 21). However, she
sometimes returns from the family narratives to her starting point as descendant who is keen to
explore the life of her ancestors. For instance, the critique of her ancestor on ScottВґs way to
present her ballads let her drawn following conclusion: Scots are like that. I think. My family
was like that (Munro 22). . It seems that the readers bear witness how Munro collects her
material to create on her family by reading how the narrator presents and reflects on the life of
her Scottish ancestors since she sticks meticulously to the poetic agenda displayed in the
foreword. Thus, the autobiographical pact is not only in force if she writes about her research in
Scotland but also as she tells stories about the life of her ancestors. The readers are likely to
believe that Munro directly speaks to them while her narrations and not to dinstiguish Munro from a
narrator created by

Purpose of the study: Stress and anxiety in the realm of teaching profession has a long history
and many scholars devoted themselves to find out more about the nature of the problem, its
effects and subsequently to offer some coping strategies to sooth the level of tension. However,
English language teaching as one of the most populated discipline in the realm of teaching
practicum seems to be ignored by most researchers and the issue of occupational stress is likely
to be in its infancy in the field of EFL/ESL. To this end, the present study is designed to probe
into the stress related subject matters among EFL/ESL teachers. More precisely, the researcher
will try to examine the level of job related stress among English language teachers across Iranian
and New Zealander contexts. The amount of stress perceived by EFL/ESL teachers can have
different origins affected by numerous internal and external factors. Therefore, an attempt will be
made to highlight the most important stress provoking factors which can give a better insight for
the professionals in the field to tackle the problem more effectively. Finding the sources of stress
can help the stake holders to provide the teachers with useful tools in addressing the problem and
ease the way of learning and teaching for the bulk of teachers and their clients. EFL/ESL teachers
demographic features are among the variables which bring variation on the type of the stressors,
level of stress and job satisfaction. Although not

We Were Soldiers vs. Platoon
After watching both of these films I noticed how combat was portrayed in the movie Platoon
was different from the movie we were soldiers In the movie we were soldiers it was portrayed
around several different officers it was focused on them and how they carried out their mission
and how they took care of their men also they showed how on a platoon level and squad level were
able to follow the battalion commander on the battlefield some example of the officers such as
Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore, Sergeant Major Basil L. Plumley EST. However you tend to lose

Ahn is every bit as quick thinking as Moore and shares his ability to anticipate the other sides
actions. Pepper s character is particularly important; he mirrors many of those in the audience as
he enters bright eyed but is quickly shocked and horrified by the carnage he witnesses first hand
and ultimately feels too overwhelmed to believe he can ever do justice to Moore and his men. It is
also significant that Colonel Ahn is never demonized; we see both he and Moore praying, we see
both murmuring encouragement to their wounded and weary men, and in one scene they both gaze
thoughtfully up at the moon.
In the movie Platoon there are three principal characters are Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen), the
young college dropout, who s the film s hesitant mouthpiece, and the two sergeants who have
effectively split the platoon between them. They are Barnes (Tom Berenger), a seriously out of
control, life sized, clay footed version of the fighting machine Sylvester Stallone glorifies in
Rambo, and Elias (Willem Dafoe), a man no less tough than Barnes, but whose tours of duty have
transformed him into a soft spoken, almost embarrassed prophet of doom.

48. Famine From A Socioeconomic Theoretical Lens
According to Kutzner, author of world hunger, there is enough food to feed everyone in the world.
With much of the world s agriculture being produced out of developing countries, (Kutzner), the
root causes of starvation is within the economic and political factors keeping countries in poverty.
Although natural catastrophes and environmental problems for food production have contributed to
the food securityissue in third world countries such as Ethiopia and Malawi, the Faminecrisis in
these countries is man made, and is ultimately the result of issues including government policies on
food markets and exports. In analyzing the root causes of food insecurity in the two developing
countries Ethiopia and Malawi, I will be focusing on man made famine from a socioeconomic
theoretical lens, focusing on factors such as population, employment, and poverty. I have come to
the hypothesis that famine in these two countries is made made due to the policies that keep these
countries from modernizing. I predict that due to the current economic conditions, the issue will not
be resolved any time soon.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines food security as existing when all people at all
times have access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life
(who.com). The basic elements of food security includes having a large enough food supply to
meet nutritional needs, as well as having the access to attain this food (Kutzner). In a wider

Alex, Bill, Carl, Devon, and Xavier are all Christians and want their business to be organized

am going to be their accountant to help run their business the proper way and right way as
Christians should. They are trying to avoid a lot of paperwork, but they also wants to allow their
cousin Xavier to handle the day to day operations of the farm. Additionally, they want to know
ways to minimize their taxes on the entity. They want to keep this a family business; they do not
