The Importance Of Staff Training And Education
As the risk manager, Susan Post, collaborated with Amy Green, the quality assurance director, and
it was discovered from chart reviews over the past three months prior to the incident occurrence that
short staffing and nurses working overtime may have played a crucial role in the incident. In
addition, float nurses were frequently used due to low staffing. Preceding to the incident, Michael
Parks, the clinical nurse specialist, consulted with both Susan Post and Amy Green regarding
importance of staff training and education.

Mandatory Reporting
Every facility is required to document adverse events, which means reporting unexpected
/unintended results that can potentially put the institution at legal risk (Westrick, 2014g). Incidents
or adverse events refer to injuries or potential injuries to a patient. The appropriate report explains
the events that took place without making assumptions throughout any part of the narrative.
Yolanda Pinnelas s case is considered an adverse event for which Jeffrey Chambers should have
written an adequate report. An objective report outlining the facts leading up to the event and the
patient s outcome are the foundation of the report (Westrick, 2014g). Co workers who witness the
event should provide written statements to provide accurate information of the event that took
place with a nonbiased perspective.
Doctors and supervisors must be made aware and attend to the unit as soon as possible, which in
Ms. Pinnelas s case, both were summoned and present in the unit when the incident took place. It is
essential that the appropriate documentation specified by the facility is complete to inform risk
management and keep accurate track of these occurrences. Therefore, Jeffrey Chamber, Diana

Were Lewis and Clark respectful to the Native Americans they met on their journey? The
expedition of Lewis and Clark was a landmarking event in American history, but its significance
goes beyond just the land they discovered. The Lewis and Clark Expedition was put forward so
the two would be able to see and map out western America in search of new trade routes and

As requested by Jefferson, Lewis and Clark would give medicine to the Indians, as disease was
very common among them. They were able to complete many trades with Indian groups, giving
them things such as guns and receiving food and information along with other resources for

was a very important contributing aid to the success of the expedition. The relationship between
Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea and her family was an example of respect between the two
groups. After the help of Sacagawea, Lewis and Clark even persuaded them to give them

Tourism Effects on Machu Picchu
High in the Andean mountain range, nestled on a ridge between two mountains high above the
valley floor below sits the amazing city and archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is
about 1400 kilometers south of the Equator on the eastern slope of the Peruvian Andes. The site
lies near the head waters of the Amazon River and is on the ridge between two prominent mountain
peaks В– Machu Picchuand Hauyna Picchu В– about 500 meters above the valley bottom (Wright
and Kenneth, 2 3). Machu Picchu, believed to be the royal estate of the Inca ruler Pachacuti, is
the most well known of all the Inca archaeological sites. Professor Hiram Bingham discovered the
site in July of 1911 and excavated it with the help of National Geographic and... Show more content

There is also the impending problem that with the increase of tourism in Machu Picchu there will
also be an increase in the crowding and congestion on the roads, footpaths, and in the narrow streets
of the site. In addition, tourists also compete with residents for available services and facilities (a
prime example of this is the local train service in Peru, in which many backpackers tend to use the
local train service rather than the much more luxurious and expensive tourist train). An increase in
visitors to the area will also lead to an increase in the crime in the area. Finally, a big social
/community impact from tourism has been the desecration of burial sites and the removal and
display of human remains from Machu Picchu to further stimulate the tourist industry, which has
ultimately led to the destruction of the Indian spiritual heritage. (Barcelona Field Studies Centre
S.L., Machu Picchu: Impact of Tourism) Environmental Costs and Benefits The environmental
costs to increased tourism to Machu Picchu out number the benefits in many ways.
Environmentally, tourism does help to facilitate increased awareness of the need for conservation
and preservation of natural, cultural, and historical resources. Machu Picchu could also be
considered a clean industry, but that might be asking a lot when one looks at

Essay on Marlow s Racism in Joseph Conrad s Heart of...
Marlow s Racism in Heart of Darkness
Heart of Darkness is an intriguing story as well as a symbol for Joseph Conrad s social
commentary on imperialism. Marlow s journey takes him deep into the African Congo where he
bears witness to a number of life altering revelations. He beholds his most striking revelation when
he begins to compare the civilized European man with the savage African man. These two opposing
forces represent the two conflicting viewpoints present in every dilemma, be it cultural, social, or
otherwise. As a modern European man who believes religiously in imperialism, Marlow is
inherently arrogant. Yet, although he cannot accept the African jungle as being equally important
as imperialism, his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

trust to faith, to believe so much in something that it will preserve our sense of self even when it

Africans fascinate Marlow, lure that part of him that wants to escape from the surface realities
created by sociality. Is it a deliberate belief that saves him from asserting his attraction, or an
accident of situation? You wonder I didn t go ashore for a howl and a dance? Well, no I didn t.
Fine sentiments, you say? Fine sentiments be hanged! I had no time. I had to mess about with
white lead and strips of woollen blanket helping to put bandages on those leaky steam pipes, I tell

realities of civilized man happened to allow him to focus his thoughts on work. This reconciles with
the notion of a deliberate belief because Marlow unshakeably believes that work contains truth (and
he can assert this truth against the truth of the Africans) and is not another system of surface reality
(Hubbard 125) . Marlow sees his journey as a demonstration of the failure of surface realities to
restrain man from gratifying his instinctual lusts; their failure in even remaining surface truths but
degenerating in the minds of man to

Background On Dell Incorporation
Background on Dell Incorporation
Dell incorporation is a well known name in households and organizations everywhere. This is
because Dell is the largest mail order computer vendor in the world due to their high reputation or
providing quality PCs to the public at affordable and competitive prices. However, this innovation
of PCs would not habe been possible without Mr. Michael Dell, the genius behind this prominent
and successful company (Anonymous, 2015). From its inception, Dell has managed to gain and
maintain a competitive advantage in the industry of computers. The question then is how does Dell
gain and retain this competitive advantage?

This strategy was developed to replace the traditional boundaries among end users, suppliers and
manufacturers through the use of its technology and information. Virtual integration utilizes mass
customization, customer focus, just in time manufacturing and supplier partnerships and combines
them to ensure that coordination is enabled. According to Wang et.al (2006), virtual integration is
substituting ownership with partnership through the integration of suppliers in an attempt to
achieve collaboration in the supply chain. This collaboration with suppliers allows Dell to enjoy the
benefits of virtual integration without having to set up their own manufacturing facility. Wang
further mentioned that virtual integration can assist manufacturers in attaining a higher flexibility
in manufacturing and also to achieve comparative advantage. In addition, Dell gain competitive
advantage through its supply chain management by requesting that key suppliers develop
inventory hubs in close proximity to their assembly plants. By doing this, Dell could communicate
with the inventory hubs of their suppliers in a timely fashion so that delivery is done in a short
span of time. Also, Dell s new PC models could now be brought to the market quicker which
resulted in drastic cost advantages (Strickland,

Uncritical Thinker
There are three types of thinkers, Uncritical Persons, skilled manipulators and the fair minded
critical persons. The uncritical persons are the ones that the media thrives on. They are the ones
that are easily influenced in believing what they hear on the news to be true without doing their
own research on what they heard. It is simply true because they read it in the newspaper or saw
it on the news. These individuals want to be presented with a simple minded, black and white
world (page 299). A person that I can relate to as an uncritical thinker would be boyfriend s
mother. She is a difficult person to reason with. She believes in what she hears to be true without

These people are focused shrewdly on pursuing their own interest without respect to how that
pursuit affects others (page 299). Although skilled manipulators share many characteristics of an
uncritical thinker, they have qualities that separate them from the uncritical persons (page 300).
They are good at using their power of manipulation to get what they want from people. Skilled
manipulators use their skill to take advantage of others and use it to their benefit. My boss is an
example of a skilled manipulator. He is constantly controlling and influencing others for his own
interests. He knows how to get what he wants no matter the consequences it plays on others. For
example, he will tell employee s things they want to hear in order to get them to work longer

Examples Of Scapegoats In The Crucible
Scapegoating in the Crucible A scapegoat is someone who is blamed for mistakes of another,
usually for someone to avoid a sticky situation. We all have done it one way or another in hope
to escape some trouble, but the crucible takes it to a whole new level. In the crucible it is not
about just being grounded for a couple days, it is about life and death. Throughout the crucible
there are multiple cases of scapegoating as characters try to avoid being thrown in jail or hanged.
Abigail is the biggest culprit of using scapegoats to cast the light on someone else rather than
herself. Abigail realizes at the beginning of the play that if she blames someone else everyone

The Millionaire Next Door
The book of The Millionaire Next Door is written by Thomas Stanley and William Danko, and it
uses lots of case studies and statistic data to tell us how the actual millionaires live in the society
and how can normal people become millionaires. The book shows a unique insight of millionaires
and base on the authors research in last twenty years, thus the result is convincing. The authors try
to tell us two things: wealthis what you accumulate but not what you spend; and there are some
ways you can use to get wealth. For me, this book is interesting and useful. In the first part, the
book talks about prototypical millionaires live next door and starts with describing an odd situation:
Some people live in expensive neighborhood and drive luxurious cars but with less income, while
some people do not live in upscale neighborhoods but accumulate a lot of wealth. The later ones are
the true millionaires. The authors then talk about seven common characteristics about these
millionaires: they live below their means; they allocate their time and money efficiently; they
believe that financial independence is more important than displaying high social status; their
parents did not provide economic outpatient care; their adult children are economically self
sufficient; they are proficient in targeting market opportunities; they chose the right occupation. (

Food Protection Pl Essential For Food Safety
Summary:
A food protection plan is essential in todays fast pace world, where globalization and
international trade and improved means of transport has served to distribute food around the
globe, even to remote regions in the shortest possible time. The significance of this trend is that
food prepared by a few can pose a threat to many people, if it is not prepared under proper sanitary
conditions and hygienic practices. It is imperative that food manufacturers, processors,
distributors, and all food related stakeholders develop a food protection plan to safe guard
themselves from lawsuits and to be able to show that their food products are safe for human
consumption. It is the duty of the state to develop their own food safety plans and work together
with all food related stakeholders to ensure compliance. Key words: food protection plan, food
safety, health and safety.
Introduction:
A food protection plan is essential for food safety and should cover all food and food related
entities from farm to fork. We live in a fast pace world, and in order to protect consumers and the
general public from undue health risks, a well thought out and efficiently working food protection
plan are required to protect the public health.
What is a food protection plan?
A food protection plan is a purposed strategy to eliminate, reduce or control food borne hazards and
to achieve a safe food supply from farm to fork.
Who benefits from a food protection plan?

Satire Environmental Problems
Satire is the use of humor, irony, hyperbole, and other forms of figurative language to convey a
belief or an idea. Articles that are non satirical typically center around fact and highlight what is
actually happening without the use of figurative language. Environmental problems are becoming
increasingly prevalent in society today and people frequently express them using both satirical and
non satirical means. With this ever increasing volume of environmental problems beginning to
damage the environment more and more, individuals are seeking to repair the environment. Due to
this exponential increase of harm to the environment, individuals will have to put in more effort in
order to come to a solution that will mitigate the largest damage to the environment. In order to
solve these problems, the problems have to be wholly understood, and the attention of individuals
that can actually do something to solve these problems needs to be reached.Satirical and non
satirical means of expressing these environmental problems will be evaluated in their effectiveness
to see which method is better for conveying these issues. The problems centering around the
desolation of the environment are fairly easy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Glutamine Vs Azide
The comparison of Azidoglutamine with Azide 1 on cell binding gave a clearer picture of the
competition between L glutamine and glutamine analogues. The activity of Azide 1 was shown to
be more tremendous than Azidoglutamine although it was not as good as Azide 2. The glutamine
uptake inhibition was mostly observed in 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells. These data suggest a
different binding mechanism of Azide 1 to cells. The good effect on the 4T1 RLR cellagain
indicates the potential involvement of systems A or L in the uptake of Azide 1. The difference of
Azide 1 binding affinity between HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2 might propose a lesser importance
of the system ASCT2 in this case. Both of the cell types were found to express... Show more content

It was shown in section 3.5 that Azide 2 significantly inhibited the growth of all three cell types:
4T1 RLR, HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2. Azide 2 which was shown as the most potent
competitor of glutamine uptake tested in this study also killed the cells with IC50 values at 0.1
0.2mM. As previously mentioned, only a very low concentration of Azide 2 from 5 16ВµM was
effective enough to reduce the glutamine uptake by these cell types to a half of maximal level.
The mechanism by which the cell growth was disrupted quickly is still unclear. However, the
extreme interference of glutamine uptake should be the first point to exploit the action of Azide 2.
Then, more experiments can be subsequently carried out to investigate the killing effect on the
intracellular environment. In contrast to Azide 2, Azide 1 killed the cells slowly with the IC50
value at 0.55 3mM which is 5 30 fold higher than that of Azide 2. The mode of Azide 1 s toxicity to
cells is quite consistent with the inhibition trend of glutamine uptake. As Azide 1 bound and
inhibited the glutamine uptake by 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells better than HT1080 luc2 cells, it
affects the growth of the former two cell types more dramatically than the latter. Hence, the working

Glass Ball And The Law Of Attraction
Glass Ball An idealist is a person who is guided more by ideals than by practical consideration; In
other word, an idealist realizes that he or she can create there own world. Perception, ideals, and
beliefs are what make people failures or successful ; coincidentally, the definition of success and
failure is also a perception. Diving deeper into this mysterious theory or fact, beliefs people have
ultimately control what actions they take on a daily basis. An example of this, using a common
fear with an estimation of 75% of people has, would be the glossophobia, also known as the fear
of public speaking. If a person believed that public speaking is frightening and could ruin their
reputation, then most likely he or she will avoid public speaking; conversely, if that same person
believed that public speaking is fun and easy, they may be more inclined to giving a public speech
without hesitation. (Glossophobia)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Write An Essay On ALS Research Papers
Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease. It is a disease which
involves the degeneration of motor neurons. Not only does it degrade the motor neurons, It also
degenerates the corticospinal neurons of the motor cortex. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrigs
disease. This name came about after a New York Yankees baseball player developed this
disorder and died from it in 1936. ALS is a heterogenous disorder. Multiple genetic factors
contribute to the onset of ALS. More than 20 genes are known to have a role to play in ALS
pathogenesis. In most cases of ALS, the disease is not hereditary. The cause of ALS is still
unknown. A small amount of cases are made up of a few hereditary forms of ALS. ALS has two
meanings. It can refer to multiple adult onset conditions which are characterized by the
degeneration of motor neurons. In the UK, Motor neuron disease is the term used to describe
these disorders. Also, ALS refers to a specific form of motor neuron disease. This specific form...

The Human Genome Project
The Human Genome Project (HGP) began in 1990 with funding from the Department of Energy
and the National Institutes of Health with the goal of decoding the human genome. Researchers
from across the world are working in conjunction to understand the sequence of amino acid base
pairs and how they interact with one another to elicit specific genetic reactions. Once the
decoding of the genome takes place, scientists will be able to develop individual treatment plans
and understand a number of diseases. Research has found that there are over 3 billion amino
acid base pairs which make up 20,000 genes. Of these 20,000 genes, the human genetic code is
defined by forty six tightly packed bunches called chromosomes. Due to the vast array of amino
acid base pairs, the project has taken over ten years to complete the sequencing of the specific
parts, but the task of understanding how the parts interact one another and the influence they have
on diseases has yet to be accomplished. The genetic material in chromosomes defines human
attributes and is developed from proteins. Proteins are a series of amino acids, which are strung
together, and the unique combination of nucleic acids (A, T, C, and G) in the protein give specific
directions to the cell to produce certain combinations of amino acids. This process creates proteins
varying in form and function based upon the series of amino acids. The differing proteins cause
numerous actions in the body to be carried out, and are

sound counties, many people would say Germany. According to the UK German connection
Voyage, Germanyis a republic with a parliamentary democracy and a bicameral system of
government. The Federal Government consists of the Chancellor and his or her ministers who
are drawn from the members of the Bundestag. The ministers usually belong to the parties who
form the ruling coalition. Germany is also said to have the largest national economy in Europe.
Germany s economy is also the fourth largest by nominal GDP in the world (EW World
Economy Team). As stated by the website German Culture, Germany s economy is labeled as a
Social Market Economy otherwise known in German as the soziale Marktwirtschaft. For years
Germany has been seen as one of the leaders of economy in Europe and around the world, but
that doesn t always mean the country is stable. Germany has a long and treacherous history of
being labeled unstable. . From the time Hitler dominated Germany in 1933 to the time of the
Berlin Wall in 1961 Germany has struggled in the past with their own people and their economy.
However, if a person would look at Germany s economy today they would find a very different
picture. According to Make it in Germany, Germany has been a stable democracy for the past

The Golden Age of Islam
The golden age of Islamic (and/or Muslim) art lasted from 750 to the 16th century, when ceramics,
glass, metalwork, textiles, illuminated manuscripts, and woodwork flourished. Lustrous glazing
was an Islamic contribution to ceramics. Islamic luster painted ceramics were imitated by Italian
potters during the Renaissance. Manuscript illumination developed into an important and greatly
respected art, and portrait miniature painting flourished in Persia. Calligraphy, an essential aspect of
written Arabic, developed in manuscripts and architectural decoration. This paper will examine the
Islamic literature, music and philosophers.
The most well known work of fiction from the Islamic world was The Book of One Thousand and

Theologus Autodidactus, written by the Arabian polymath Ibn al Nafis(1213 1288), is an early
example of proto science fiction. It deals with various science fiction elements such as spontaneous
generation, futurology, and the end of the world and doomsday. Rather than giving supernatural or
mythological explanations for these events, Ibn al Nafis attempted to explain these plot elements
using the scientific knowledge of biology, astronomy, cosmology and geology known in his time.
His main purpose behind this science fiction work was to explain Islamic religious teachings in
terms of science and philosophy through the use of fiction.
A Latin translation of Ibn Tufails work, Philosophus Autodidactus, first appeared in 1671,
prepared by Edward Pococke the Younger, followed by an English translation by Simon Ockley
in 1708, as well as German and Dutch translations. These translations later inspired Daniel Defoe
to write Robinson Crusoe, regarded as the first novel in English (James Thurber, pg.64).
Philosophus Autodidactus also inspired Robert Boyle to write his own philosophical novel set
on an island, The Aspiring Naturalist (James Thurber, pg.64). The story also anticipated
Rousseau s Emile: or, On Education in some ways, and is also similar to Mowgli s story in
Rudyard Kipling s The Jungle Book as well as Tarzan s story, in that a baby is abandoned but taken

Origin Of Modern Muslim Terrorism
In the aftermath of the September 11th 2001 suicide attacks orchestrated by al Qaeda, the 9/11
Commission Report chose to... adopt a neo Orientalist approach by locating Ibn Taymiyya as the
root cause of the al Qaeda phenomenon (Lambert, 2011: 172). With al Qaeda claiming
responsibility for the 9/11 attacks, this terrorist organisation shall be the focus of the essay to
ascertain whether or not the 9/11 Commission s suggestion is supported. Section one shall explore
Ibn Taymiyya s teachings and the context in which he was writing in the 13th Century. Section two
shall analyse arguments that support the 9/11 Commission. Following this, sections three, four and
five shall examine sources that challenge the notion that Ibn Taymiyya s teachings are the root of
modern Muslim terrorism, due to contradictions with al Qaedas ideology. Throughout, the essay
holds that the origin of modern Muslim terrorism does not stem from Ibn Taymiyya s teachings.
The basis for this position is that the organisation responsible for the 9/11 attacks, al Qaeda, has
used his writings on the Mongol invasions to justify jihadagainst the threat of Westernisation
despite al Qaeda and Ibn Taymiyya representing two forms of religious consciousness (Heck, 2004:
117).
Section one shall examine the writings of Ibn Taymiyya, a thirteenth century scholar who had
sought to impose a literal interpretation of the Quran (Wright, 2007: 183), and the significance of
the context in which he wrote. His

Comparison Of Taming Of The Shrew And Oedipus Rex
Tragedy and Comedy Rewrite In the plays The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare and
Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, aspects of tragedy and comedy are used to shine a spotlight on human
nature and explain the reasons behind human actions. As American musician Willie Nelson once
stated, Cruelty is all out of ignorance. If you knew what was in store for you, you wouldn t hurt
anybody, because whatever you do comes back much more forceful than you send it out. Both plays
exhibit instances where characters are ignorant, cruel, and act in unusual ways. Overall, tragedyand
comedy elements are used by dramawriters to reveal the true nature of humans and explain the
reasons for their actions. By virtue of the authors use of anagnorisis, farce,... Show more content on

Petruchio s harsh treatment of her because of her disobedience eventually molds her into an
obedient and appreciative bride. Shakespeare incorporates this change that occurs within
Katherine to demonstrate how human cruelty can affect another person, changing them so much
that they completely disregard their previous beliefs. Additionally, a surprise ending is also
prevalent in Oedipus Rex when Oedipus finds out his wife/mother has killed herself. In reacting
to her suicide, he then pokes sharp needles into his eyes as described by the Second Messenger,
He struck his eyes not once, but many times; / And the blood spattered his beard, / Bursting from
his ruined sockets like red hail (Sophocles 1226 28). Even though Oedipus is distraught and
understandably upset over his wife/mother s death, he surprises the audience by penetrating his
own eyes with sharp needles in an attempt to punish himself. This surprise is further acknowledged
when Oedipus speaks about his actions: Do not counsel me any more. This punishment / That I
have laid upon myself is just (1315 1316). Oedipus self harm is used by Sophocles to display how
Oedipus ignorance leads to him physically abusing himself, in addition to highlighting the reasons
behind human actions. The author allows Oedipus to add reasoning behind his own self
destruction, specifically through his dialogue as he outlines that him hurting

Meeting At Seward County Community College Essay
Meeting Characteristics for Conflict Management and Resolution Meetings are a common tool used
by companies and organizations for a variety of purposes, and they can be implemented in a variety
of ways. Properly implemented, meetings can be effective, productive, and increase involvement of
the participants at the meetings. If not implemented properly, meetings can be costly as well as
unproductive for both the leader and the participants. By examining recent meetingcharacteristics of
Wheatridge Park Care Center and the Phi Theta Kappa organization at Seward County Community
College, a better understanding of the positive and negative aspects of various meeting styles may
be explored through applying and analyzing the events of the meeting against conflict management
principles recommended in Raines (2013).
Wheatridge Park Care Center Meeting Wheatridge Park Care Center has demonstrated several
aspects that adhere to the suggestions of Raines (2013), and that have worked well for the
participants at the meetings. Wheatridge Park s meetings can be broken down into two parts, which
are the department meetings and the all staff meetings. Each of the five departments at Wheatridge
Park Care Center conducts department meetings once a month with the employees in that
department. The department meetings typically address issues such as information employees need
to know, changes in the department, dealing with nonstructural sources of conflict, and build on
team cognition.

An Analysis of The Story of Rahab Essay
An Analysis of The Story of Rahab
The main point of the story of Rahab is that God rewards people, regardless of their station or past
sins, who put their faith in Him.
The story of Rahab begins when Joshua, after receiving God s command to enter into the Promised
Land, sends two spies into Jericho and the surrounding areas to view the land (Joshua 2:1). The two
spies are discovered in Jericho as they enter Rahab s harlot house. The king of Jericho, being
alerted to their presence, sends for the spies. Rahab hides the two spies on her roof under some
flax and sends the guards out of the city on a wild goose chase. Rahab then tells the spies that

Jericho was a pagan city so Rahab probably had a lot of business. Notice that she owned and
operated the brothel. Rahab was a successful business woman. She took charge of situations and
was able to make fast, smart decisions. When the guards came to her house she quickly hid the
spies on her roof and made up a clever story to not only throw the search party off but to get them
out of Jericho for three days. Rahab saw a perfect opportunity to save herself from the impending
doom and because of her intelligent and bold actions she was able to take advantage of it. One
might even suspect her of informing the king of the spy s presence.
Rahab s relationship to the spies throughout the story also shows an element of her nature. From
the moment that the spies enter her house and are found out, Rahab has the upper hand in the
relationship. The spies need Rahab to help them. She uses their dependence on her protection and
her familiarity with the city to her advantage. Rahab is a survivor. She looks out for her own
skin. The truth of her supposed religious devotion to the God of the Israelites is questionable. But
true or not she had no problem using that to help her family. Rahab was loyal to her family and
would do anything to ensure her family s safety.
Rahab s dialogue also shows her intelligence. Her talk with the spies reads like a man speaking.

Wireless Sensor Network ( Wsn )
Wireless sensor network From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A wireless sensor network
(WSN) is a computer network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices using
sensors to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature,
sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants, at different locations.[1] The development of
wireless sensor networks was originally motivated by military applications such as battlefield
surveillance. However, wireless sensor networks are now used in many civilian application
areas, including environment and habitat monitoring, healthcare applications, home automation,
and traffic control.[1][2] In addition to one or more sensors, each node in a sensor network is
typically equipped with a radio transceiver or other wireless communications device, a small
microcontroller, and an energy source, usually a battery. The size a single sensor node can vary
from shoebox sized nodes down to devices the size of grain of dust.[1] The cost of sensor nodes
is similarly variable, ranging from hundreds of dollars to a few cents, depending on the size of the
sensor network and the complexity required of individual sensor nodes.[1] Size and cost constraints
on sensor nodes result in corresponding constraints on resources such as energy, memory,
computational speed and bandwidth.[1] In computer science, wireless sensor networks are an active
research area with numerous workshops and conferences arranged each year.

At the time, Johns Hopkins was the only option in the area for African Americans seeking

Analysis Of Bruce Bairnsfather s One Of Those Balkan Muddles
Bruce Bairnsfather s cartoon, One of Those Balkan Muddles, depicts a dejected soldier who is
profoundly confused about his nationality and identity. The man does not seem to possess a
clear ethnicity or home country, thus neither does he possess a true citizenship. He is not
specifically tied to any one people, geographical area, or culture. This caricature reflects a
comedized reality for many people living within the borders of the Austro Hungarian Empire
during and prior to World War One. The Empire was a confusing, heterogeneous mixture of
several ethnicities forced into a single citizenship and state. As a real life example, the imperial
census of the Austro Hungarian Empire in 1910 caused problems when it asked subjects to state
their identity. The official criterion was the language spoken, yet controversy raged when other
officials argued for history, geography, anthropology and ethnography as the key criteria.
Divisively, Emperor Franz Joseph, at the head of a dynasty which was supposed to be supra
national, put himself down firmly as German on the census form . Bairnsfather s cartoon soldier is
the personification of Empire s lack of clear collective identity, and thus lack of true citizenship.
This issue will eventually lead to the dissolution of the Empire into several constituent states.
The epoch that the cartoon was drawn in was defined by the emergence of a central force in
geopolitics: The nation state. The force of nationalism, neither benevolent

Impulsive And Immature In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare characterizes Romeo s character to be both
impulsive and immature in things that include love and things that don t include love. Romeo s
rash behavior and hasty decisions are one the reasons for the downfall of Romeo and Juliet.
Despite Romeo and Juliet both being the heirs of two enemies, they fall in love rather quickly,
forgetting hardships that would come, proving that it s better to think before you act. Before
Romeo meets Juliet, he is in love with Rosaline, so much so that when she rejects him, he
mourns for her, acting unhappy and downhearted. As a result of that, he creates a depressed
environment around him as Montague says, Shuts up his windows, locks fair daylight out, and
makes himself an artificial night (1.1.142 143). Revealing just how much Rosaline s rejections
affects him. Rosaline has taken an oath of chastity, this plays a big role in his sadness as this
leaves her uncharmed by Romeo, making her, in strong proof of chastity well armed, from love s
weak childish bow she lives uncharmed (1.1.218 219). Romeo s love for Rosaline seems more like

Owner, Daniel Calef, saw Captain Preston. Why? Because all of the soldiers were wearing that

Bloody Massacre, it shows that all the soldiers were wearing that outfit. Daniel Calef could not
be sure it was the Captain. As for seeing his face plain in the moonlight? That proves nothing. He

The Speed of Light from LAB to LAB and Time to Time: Not a Constant
Background
For centuries, the speed of light, c, has been studied extensively. Its importance as a component of
many of the laws of psychics is unparalleled. Its physical meaning defines the nature of space and
time; including how they relate to each other, how they relate to all aspects of existence, and how
all things relate to all else that is or ever was in existence. The speed of light also serves as a limit
for many phenomena; how fast something can go, how much energy something can have, and how

The Perceptions Of Black Males
The Perceptions of Black Males in College
Kwesi N. Luke
Liberty University
Abstract
African American males in higher education have captured the attention of researchers; sadly,
exhausted amount of research has focused primarily on the failing black male, while little has been
done to address the problem. This paper focuses on factors that influence the perceptions and self
esteem of African Americanmales in higher education, and explore why their educational
achievements are overwhelmingly lower than any other racial/ethnic group. Specifically, this
review focuses on how research in education or the lack thereof has contributed to this particular
issue. The review of literature in this paper leads to two research questions: (1) What efforts if
any have been directed to address the negative outcomes of black males in higher education? (2)
What other external factors have prevented black males from achieving their objectives at a lower
rate than any other racial or ethnic group? The following 10 reviews attempt to answer the above
questions.
Keywords: Black males in higher education, failing black males, Education attainment among black
men, Scholarly journals on black men in education, why black men fail, external factors affecting
black males in education.
Stating the Problem Despite the aspirations of African American males to further their education,

How Did Ancient Greek Influence American Government
The Greek influences inform modern American culture through their complex system of
government, and from their advanced conceptual practices of modern day mathematics. Also, the
revolutionary progresses of this ancient era have impacted societies as a whole, from some of their
ingenious inventions which have been innovated and modified into the most recognized designs of
latter day civilizations. Besides from informing, the Greeks not only continue to inspire American
culture from their successes, but also, many other cultures of the world, and their artists, in
distinction to the perceptive ancient art, poetry, and literature of that time.

The Archaic government of Ancient Greeceand the Democratic government of the modern day
United States are very similar, for democracy originated from the Ancient Greek Archaic
government; yet, their differences are quite note worthy. To begin, we should recognize how the
populace of the United States is considerably larger than that of Ancient Greece. Regardless, in
Ancient Greece and in the United States, citizens were/are allowed to vote, although in Ancient
Greece, but male citizens could vote; while unlike the United States, who lets all citizens over the
age of 18 vote. In Ancient Greece the eligible were all treated equally, and had direct participation
in government, which meant that their single vote could either serve as deciding a new law, if they
should go to war, or any other issue at the time. Furthermore, in Ancient Greece, citizens could act
as judges, or even address new laws, freely, without consent. In contrast, the United States voters all
have elected participation in the government, which means that they elect like minded
representatives who decide on matters for them. In the United States democracy voters cannot
decide on issues, they let their elected leaders which comprise of three individual branches to

Describe Five Stressors
Five stressors that can specifically affect the health of a workingwoman are financial obligations,
poor diet, family, minimal sleep, and social duties. Possible ways to reduce stress are to identify
stress, implement healthy coping mechanisms, exercise, allocate time for relaxation, and proper
time management.
To identify the stress you must look at your routine, approach, and excuses. By accepting
responsibility for your actions you can take control of a situation. To do so you can create a
checklist on how to categorize your stress by identifying the cause, how you felt about it,
responded to it, and how you made your self feel better. Next is to implement healthy coping
mechanisms this important because what you do to cope can be adding

Dylan Klebold Research Paper
Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are two of the most historic mass murders in American history.
They are the two kids who attacked columbine high school on april 20, 1999. Ever since that day
people have been constantly looking for the reason they did it but they actually did it for a number
of reasons, not just one like many people think. There is a number of reasons for why Dylan and
Eric did what they did, and why they clicked so well together. Dylan Klebold was a very smart kid
but he was also very troubled. Dylan was very depressed and also was fueled by a rage; He was
often at times described as a live wire. During his time in high school he often felt like he did not
fit in with anyone other than his friend Eric whom he developed a hatred... Show more content on

Eric Harris is described by experts as a textbook example of a psychopath. Just like Dylan, Eric
also did not feel like he fit in with other students despite the fact that Eric was more talkative and
was alot more outgoing than Dylan. Eric was also a very angry person but most most of the time
stayed very calm under pressure unlike Dylan, but he would rant about his anger on his own
personal website, a website filled with violent tirades against the people who were mean to Eric
or anyone he simply did not like. Eric was believed to be a psychopath with no remorse or
empathy for the things he was going to do which is most likely why he was so okay with killing
as many people as possible and really just releasing all his pinned up fury against the place that he
hated most. Dylan and Eric had a very strange chemistry between their often very different
personalities. Even though their personalities were often very different they were both very skilled
at math and even had a mutual love of technology. The reason these two really clicked though is
because they could play off each others strengths pretty well in a variety of situations. For example
when they had a run in with the cops Dylan often panicked but Eric remained

revolutionised writing,making his plays unforgettable.
William Shakespeare was born on April 23,1564 in Stratford upon Avon,England. He was raised in
Stratford upon Avon along with eight siblings (who tragically died during infancy) and his mother
(Mary Aden) and father (John Shakespeare).William was born English and was born into the era
of the Renaissance and Early Modern. His father,John Shakespeare, owned a shop which made
gloves.His mother,Mary Aden,was a farmer s daughter.John was soon enough an alderman
(council) then was elected bailiff (mayor) which was the highest honor a Stratford resident could
get! By the age of seven, William was attending Stratford grammar school with other people of
their social class (middle class). The school mostly studied Latin.Knowing Latin could help you get
a better job, so this was important. As Shakespeare grew older, he met Anne Hathaway, and got

Conservative Opinion On Immigration
Next I will talk about the Issue of Immigration from the conservative standpoint. Conservatives
opinion on immigration is very clear. According to Student New Daily, conservatives, Support
legal immigration only. Oppose amnesty for those who enter the U.S. illegally ( Conservative Vs
Liberal , paragraph 12). This means that conservatives want immigrants to be a part of our great
country, but do not want people who came here illegally to get citizenship. One big point is that
Conservative think the borders should be secure before dealing with illegal immigrants. Presidential
Candidate Donald J Trump has stated, The US has become a dumping ground for everyone else s
problems (Presidential announcement). This is from his speech announcing

Ambiguity In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Literary translation seeks to recreate an original work in a new language using the tools available in
the target language. In order to recreate a story, the translator must first interpret its meaning. This
proves to be a challenge as the nature of literary works is such that they often lend themselves to
multiple interpretations, either due to deliberate or unintentional ambiguity in the text. In the case
of Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, the author crafted a complex story filled with
ambiguity. What are, then, translators to do when faced with the momentous task of translating an
important piece of American literature like Young Goodman Brown? They must undoubtedly turn
to literary criticism, which seeks to produce in depth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the translator is unaware of the multifunctionality of the name, he or she will not be able to
recreate it in the target text. If Goodman is kept in the original English, the target audience might
perceive it as a first name. Furthermore, the repetition of the word good in the language
understood by the reader will be lost, and so the irony will not be reinforced every time the word
Goodman is encountered. In Spanish, for example, translating Goodman as buen hombre (good
man), which is a form of address used for a kind and honest man, would allow the character to be
every man, as he would bear no first name. Furthermore, by allowing readers to have access to the
repetition of the word good in their language, they are being granted the opportunity to find the
sense of irony for themselves.
The Puritan preoccupation with Good and Evil manifested itself in the religion s condemnation of
witchcraft. Hawthorne uses uncountable references to witchcraft and its association with sexuality,
debauchery and carnal abandon (Hoffman 163). One example of sexual imagery comes from the
speech of the sable figure leading the witch s sabbath in the forest. The figure uses the words bed
chamber, stain, blood, penetrate, bosom, and sin to talk about man s evil

The On Apache Hadoop s Open Source Offerings
With the rise of Hadoop in the workplace, along with it comes a rise of vendors offering various
platforms to store, access, and analyze vast amounts of data. These platforms vary in their
functionality, cost, and ease of use, among other factors. Three of the more popular vendors are
Amazon Web Services, Map R, and Cloudera. While each of these is based on Apache Hadoop s
open source offerings, it is the applications and reach that differentiates them. Although price will
always be a factor as well, this comparison seeks only to explore the vendors themselves, not the
price of admission. One of the best features of MapR is that they allow Hadoop to be accessed not
only from the cloud, but also from traditional network sources as well.... Show more content on

As of 2014, Map R has over 500 clients and growing, but going forward they, as well as many
others, face the challenge of their proprietary tools being replaced by open source substitutions.
The application suite of Map R is varied, but even includes specific software suites to ease the
pain of planning, creating, and maintaining clusters. This one in particular, StackIQ, automates
the process from the ground up. The company offers three distributions, M3, M5, and M7. M3 is
offered as a free version, while M5 and M7 are paid versions that allow access to more powerful
tools for improving performance and reliability. The M7 version also allows much greater access to
to tinkering with their real time, low latency streams. The business applications are varied, covering
everything from administration to analyst to developer. Amazon Web Services
, much like Map R,
and perhaps thanks to them, also offers the same guarantee of no single point of failure and
distributed computing functions through popular applications such as Hive and Hbase. Also as
part of its Web Services, you can run EC2 instances from nearly any type of virtual machine
available. The cluster management tools are powerful and run the gamut of a graphical user
interface console, the Amazon Web Services command line interface, their EMI client, a software
development kit available to code additional applications, as well as a web service API. All of the
tools provide

The Importance Of Staff Training And Education As the risk manager, Susan Post, collaborated with Amy Green, the quality assurance director, and it was discovered from chart reviews over the past three months prior to the incident occurrence that short staffing and nurses working overtime may have played a crucial role in the incident. In addition, float nurses were frequently used due to low staffing. Preceding to the incident, Michael Parks, the clinical nurse specialist, consulted with both Susan Post and Amy Green regarding importance of staff training and education. Risk Management Technique The risk management technique that can be used before and after errors occur would be, error proof processes: critical tasks should be structured so that errors cannot be made (Nickitas, ... Mandatory Reporting Every facility is required to document adverse events, which means reporting unexpected /unintended results that can potentially put the institution at legal risk (Westrick, 2014g). Incidents or adverse events refer to injuries or potential injuries to a patient. The appropriate report explains the events that took place without making assumptions throughout any part of the narrative. Yolanda Pinnelas s case is considered an adverse event for which Jeffrey Chambers should have written an adequate report. An objective report outlining the facts leading up to the event and the patient s outcome are the foundation of the report (Westrick, 2014g). Co workers who witness the event should provide written statements to provide accurate information of the event that took place with a nonbiased perspective. Doctors and supervisors must be made aware and attend to the unit as soon as possible, which in Ms. Pinnelas s case, both were summoned and present in the unit when the incident took place. It is essential that the appropriate documentation specified by the facility is complete to inform risk management and keep accurate track of these occurrences. The expedition of Lewis and Clark was a landmarking event in American history, but its significance goes beyond just the land they discovered. The Lewis and Clark Expedition was put forward so the two would be able to see and map out western America in search of new trade routes and passages. Lewis and Clark would have doubtfully survived had it not been with the aid of the Indians they met on their travels. The relationship between Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea and her family was an example of respect between the two groups. Tourism Effects on Machu Picchu High in the Andean mountain range, nestled on a ridge between two mountains high above the valley floor below sits the amazing city and archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is about 1400 kilometers south of the Equator on the eastern slope of the Peruvian Andes. The site lies near the head waters of the Amazon River and is on the ridge between two prominent mountain peaks В– Machu Picchuand Hauyna Picchu В– about 500 meters above the valley bottom (Wright and Kenneth, 2 3). There is also the impending problem that with the increase of tourism in Machu Picchu there will also be an increase in the crowding and congestion on the roads, footpaths, and in the narrow streets of the site. In addition, tourists also compete with residents for available services and facilities (a prime example of this is the local train service in Peru, in which many backpackers tend to use the local train service rather than the much more luxurious and expensive tourist train). An increase in visitors to the area will also lead to an increase in the crime in the area. Finally, a big social /community impact from tourism has been the desecration of burial sites and the removal and display of human remains from Machu Picchu to further stimulate the tourist industry, which has ultimately led to the destruction of the Indian spiritual heritage. (Barcelona Field Studies Centre S.L., Machu Picchu: Impact of Tourism) Environmental Costs and Benefits The environmental costs to increased tourism to Machu Picchu out number the benefits in many ways. Environmentally, tourism does help to facilitate increased awareness of the need for conservation and preservation of natural, cultural, and historical resources. Marlow s Racism in Heart of Darkness Heart of Darkness is an intriguing story as well as a symbol for Joseph Conrad s social commentary on imperialism. Marlow s journey takes him deep into the African Congo where he bears witness to a number of life altering revelations. He beholds his most striking revelation when he begins to compare the civilized European man with the savage African man. These two opposing forces represent the two conflicting viewpoints present in every dilemma, be it cultural, social, or otherwise. As a modern European man who believes religiously in imperialism, Marlow is inherently arrogant. Yet, although he cannot accept the African jungle as being equally important as imperialism, his ... No; you want a deliberate belief. * The inherent strength of civilized people is in our ability to trust to faith, to believe so much in something that it will preserve our sense of self even when it is threatened by total absence of, even the opposite conditions of, all that formed to make it. The Africans fascinate Marlow, lure that part of him that wants to escape from the surface realities created by sociality. Is it a deliberate belief that saves him from asserting his attraction, or an accident of situation? You wonder I didn t go ashore for a howl and a dance? Well, no I didn t. Fine sentiments, you say? Fine sentiments be hanged! I had no time. I had to mess about with white lead and strips of woollen blanket helping to put bandages on those leaky steam pipes, I tell you. ...There was surface truth enough in these things to save a wiser man. * The technological realities of civilized man happened to allow him to focus his thoughts on work. This reconciles with the notion of a deliberate belief because Marlow unshakeably believes that work contains truth (and he can assert this truth against the truth of the Africans) and is not another system of surface reality (Hubbard 125) . Marlow sees his journey as a demonstration of the failure of surface realities to restrain man from gratifying his instinctual lusts; their failure in even remaining surface truths but degenerating in the minds of man to ... This collaboration with suppliers allows Dell to enjoy the benefits of virtual integration without having to set up their own manufacturing facility. Wang further mentioned that virtual integration can assist manufacturers in attaining a higher flexibility in manufacturing and also to achieve comparative advantage. In addition, Dell gain competitive advantage through its supply chain management by requesting that key suppliers develop inventory hubs in close proximity to their assembly plants. • 9. Uncritical Thinker There are three types of thinkers, Uncritical Persons, skilled manipulators and the fair minded critical persons. The uncritical persons are the ones that the media thrives on. They are the ones that are easily influenced in believing what they hear on the news to be true without doing their own research on what they heard. It is simply true because they read it in the newspaper or saw it on the news. These individuals want to be presented with a simple minded, black and white world (page 299). We all have done it one way or another in hope to escape some trouble, but the crucible takes it to a whole new level. In the crucible it is not about just being grounded for a couple days, it is about life and death. Throughout the crucible there are multiple cases of scapegoating as characters try to avoid being thrown in jail or hanged. The book shows a unique insight of millionaires and base on the authors research in last twenty years, thus the result is convincing. The authors try to tell us two things: wealthis what you accumulate but not what you spend; and there are some ways you can use to get wealth. For me, this book is interesting and useful. In the first part, the book talks about prototypical millionaires live next door and starts with describing an odd situation: Some people live in expensive neighborhood and drive luxurious cars but with less income, while some people do not live in upscale neighborhoods but accumulate a lot of wealth. The later ones are the true millionaires. The authors then talk about seven common characteristics about these millionaires: they live below their means; they allocate their time and money efficiently; they believe that financial independence is more important than displaying high social status; their parents did not provide economic outpatient care; their adult children are economically self sufficient; they are proficient in targeting market opportunities; they chose the right occupation. • 12. Food Protection Pl Essential For Food Safety Summary: A food protection plan is essential in todays fast pace world, where globalization and international trade and improved means of transport has served to distribute food around the globe, even to remote regions in the shortest possible time. The significance of this trend is that food prepared by a few can pose a threat to many people, if it is not prepared under proper sanitary conditions and hygienic practices. It is imperative that food manufacturers, processors, distributors, and all food related stakeholders develop a food protection plan to safe guard themselves from lawsuits and to be able to show that their food products are safe for human consumption. It is the duty of the state to develop their own food safety plans and work together with all food related stakeholders to ensure compliance. Key words: food protection plan, food safety, health and safety. Introduction: A food protection plan is essential for food safety and should cover all food and food related entities from farm to fork. We live in a fast pace world, and in order to protect consumers and the general public from undue health risks, a well thought out and efficiently working food protection plan are required to protect the public health. What is a food protection plan? A food protection plan is a purposed strategy to eliminate, reduce or control food borne hazards and to achieve a safe food supply from farm to fork. Articles that are non satirical typically center around fact and highlight what is actually happening without the use of figurative language. Environmental problems are becoming increasingly prevalent in society today and people frequently express them using both satirical and non satirical means. With this ever increasing volume of environmental problems beginning to damage the environment more and more, individuals are seeking to repair the environment. Due to this exponential increase of harm to the environment, individuals will have to put in more effort in order to come to a solution that will mitigate the largest damage to the environment. In order to solve these problems, the problems have to be wholly understood, and the attention of individuals that can actually do something to solve these problems needs to be reached.Satirical and non satirical means of expressing these environmental problems will be evaluated in their effectiveness to see which method is better for conveying these issues. • 14. Glutamine Vs Azide The comparison of Azidoglutamine with Azide 1 on cell binding gave a clearer picture of the competition between L glutamine and glutamine analogues. The activity of Azide 1 was shown to be more tremendous than Azidoglutamine although it was not as good as Azide 2. The glutamine uptake inhibition was mostly observed in 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells. These data suggest a different binding mechanism of Azide 1 to cells. The good effect on the 4T1 RLR cellagain indicates the potential involvement of systems A or L in the uptake of Azide 1. The difference of Azide 1 binding affinity between HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2 might propose a lesser importance of the system ASCT2 in this case. Both of the cell types were found to express... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was shown in section 3.5 that Azide 2 significantly inhibited the growth of all three cell types: 4T1 RLR, HT1080 luc2 and HepG2 luc2. Azide 2 which was shown as the most potent competitor of glutamine uptake tested in this study also killed the cells with IC50 values at 0.1 0.2mM. As previously mentioned, only a very low concentration of Azide 2 from 5 16ВµM was effective enough to reduce the glutamine uptake by these cell types to a half of maximal level. The mechanism by which the cell growth was disrupted quickly is still unclear. However, the extreme interference of glutamine uptake should be the first point to exploit the action of Azide 2. Then, more experiments can be subsequently carried out to investigate the killing effect on the intracellular environment. In contrast to Azide 2, Azide 1 killed the cells slowly with the IC50 value at 0.55 3mM which is 5 30 fold higher than that of Azide 2. The mode of Azide 1 s toxicity to cells is quite consistent with the inhibition trend of glutamine uptake. As Azide 1 bound and inhibited the glutamine uptake by 4T1 RLR and HepG2 luc2 cells better than HT1080 luc2 cells, it affects the growth of the former two cell types more dramatically than the latter. Not only does it degrade the motor neurons, It also degenerates the corticospinal neurons of the motor cortex. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrigs disease. This name came about after a New York Yankees baseball player developed this disorder and died from it in 1936. ALS is a heterogenous disorder. Multiple genetic factors contribute to the onset of ALS. More than 20 genes are known to have a role to play in ALS pathogenesis. In most cases of ALS, the disease is not hereditary. The cause of ALS is still unknown. A small amount of cases are made up of a few hereditary forms of ALS. ALS has two meanings. It can refer to multiple adult onset conditions which are characterized by the degeneration of motor neurons. In the UK, Motor neuron disease is the term used to describe these disorders. The Human Genome Project The Human Genome Project (HGP) began in 1990 with funding from the Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health with the goal of decoding the human genome. Researchers from across the world are working in conjunction to understand the sequence of amino acid base pairs and how they interact with one another to elicit specific genetic reactions. Once the decoding of the genome takes place, scientists will be able to develop individual treatment plans and understand a number of diseases. Research has found that there are over 3 billion amino acid base pairs which make up 20,000 genes. Of these 20,000 genes, the human genetic code is defined by forty six tightly packed bunches called chromosomes. Due to the vast array of amino acid base pairs, the project has taken over ten years to complete the sequencing of the specific parts, but the task of understanding how the parts interact one another and the influence they have on diseases has yet to be accomplished. The genetic material in chromosomes defines human attributes and is developed from proteins. Proteins are a series of amino acids, which are strung together, and the unique combination of nucleic acids (A, T, C, and G) in the protein give specific directions to the cell to produce certain combinations of amino acids. This process creates proteins varying in form and function based upon the series of amino acids. The differing proteins cause numerous actions in the body to be carried out, and are ... Rather than giving supernatural or mythological explanations for these events, Ibn al Nafis attempted to explain these plot elements using the scientific knowledge of biology, astronomy, cosmology and geology known in his time. His main purpose behind this science fiction work was to explain Islamic religious teachings in terms of science and philosophy through the use of fiction. Wireless Sensor Network ( Wsn ) Wireless sensor network From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a computer network consisting of spatially distributed autonomous devices using sensors to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants, at different locations.[1] The development of wireless sensor networks was originally motivated by military applications such as battlefield surveillance. However, wireless sensor networks are now used in many civilian application areas, including environment and habitat monitoring, healthcare applications, home automation, and traffic control.[1][2] In addition to one or more sensors, each node in a sensor network is typically equipped with a radio transceiver or other wireless communications device, a small microcontroller, and an energy source, usually a battery. The size a single sensor node can vary from shoebox sized nodes down to devices the size of grain of dust.[1] The cost of sensor nodes is similarly variable, ranging from hundreds of dollars to a few cents, depending on the size of the sensor network and the complexity required of individual sensor nodes.[1] Size and cost constraints on sensor nodes result in corresponding constraints on resources such as energy, memory, computational speed and bandwidth.[1] In computer science, wireless sensor networks are an active research area with numerous workshops and conferences arranged each year. ... The man does not seem to possess a clear ethnicity or home country, thus neither does he possess a true citizenship. He is not specifically tied to any one people, geographical area, or culture. This caricature reflects a comedized reality for many people living within the borders of the Austro Hungarian Empire during and prior to World War One. The Empire was a confusing, heterogeneous mixture of several ethnicities forced into a single citizenship and state. As a real life example, the imperial census of the Austro Hungarian Empire in 1910 caused problems when it asked subjects to state their identity. The official criterion was the language spoken, yet controversy raged when other officials argued for history, geography, anthropology and ethnography as the key criteria. Divisively, Emperor Franz Joseph, at the head of a dynasty which was supposed to be supra national, put himself down firmly as German on the census form . Bairnsfather s cartoon soldier is the personification of Empire s lack of clear collective identity, and thus lack of true citizenship. • 38. Impulsive And Immature In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare characterizes Romeo s character to be both impulsive and immature in things that include love and things that don t include love. Romeo s rash behavior and hasty decisions are one the reasons for the downfall of Romeo and Juliet. Despite Romeo and Juliet both being the heirs of two enemies, they fall in love rather quickly, forgetting hardships that would come, proving that it s better to think before you act. Before Romeo meets Juliet, he is in love with Rosaline, so much so that when she rejects him, he mourns for her, acting unhappy and downhearted. As a result of that, he creates a depressed environment around him as Montague says, Shuts up his windows, locks fair daylight out, and makes himself an artificial night (1.1.142 143). Revealing just how much Rosaline s rejections affects him. Rosaline has taken an oath of chastity, this plays a big role in his sadness as this leaves her uncharmed by Romeo, making her, in strong proof of chastity well armed, from love s weak childish bow she lives uncharmed (1.1.218 219). Because all of the soldiers were wearing that uniform, they are all matching. If you look at the picture that Paul Revere drew, called the Bloody Massacre, it shows that all the soldiers were wearing that outfit. Daniel Calef could not be sure it was the Captain. As for seeing his face plain in the moonlight? That proves nothing. He could be easily mistaken for another soldier. There is no solid proof that it was the officer, no true evidence. What he saw could have been merely a simple soldiers along with the rest of them. 5.Why or why not? He s just trying to get Preston in trouble with the court so that way they can win the war. 6.According to Robert Goddard, why did Captain Preston give the order to fire? According to Robert Goddard, The Captain fired because an estimated group of 50 boys were all throwing snowballs and the group, and the Captain warned them to stop, and when they didn t, he supposedly fired. 7.How were the testimonies of Daniel Calef and William Wyat similar? Eric was believed to be a psychopath with no remorse or empathy for the things he was going to do which is most likely why he was so okay with killing as many people as possible and really just releasing all his pinned up fury against the place that he hated most. Dylan and Eric had a very strange chemistry between their often very different personalities. Even though their personalities were often very different they were both very skilled at math and even had a mutual love of technology. In order to recreate a story, the translator must first interpret its meaning. This proves to be a challenge as the nature of literary works is such that they often lend themselves to multiple interpretations, either due to deliberate or unintentional ambiguity in the text. In the case of Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, the author crafted a complex story filled with ambiguity. What are, then, translators to do when faced with the momentous task of translating an important piece of American literature like Young Goodman Brown? They must undoubtedly turn to literary criticism, which seeks to produce in depth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the translator is unaware of the multifunctionality of the name, he or she will not be able to recreate it in the target text. If Goodman is kept in the original English, the target audience might perceive it as a first name. Furthermore, the repetition of the word good in the language understood by the reader will be lost, and so the irony will not be reinforced every time the word Goodman is encountered. In Spanish, for example, translating Goodman as buen hombre (good man), which is a form of address used for a kind and honest man, would allow the character to be every man, as he would bear no first name. Furthermore, by allowing readers to have access to the repetition of the word good in their language, they are being granted the opportunity to find the sense of irony for themselves. The Puritan preoccupation with Good and Evil manifested itself in the religion s condemnation of witchcraft. Hawthorne uses uncountable references to witchcraft and its association with sexuality, debauchery and carnal abandon (Hoffman 163).
