exsistance. So caught up in tabloids and money people seem to forget the search for love, self
acceptance, and spirituality. These concepts are tied into novels written decades ago and were once the
main topic of a persons life. Whether a person was looking for spiritual guidence or self accepence,
they could find the answer in lititure. In Journey to the West, the Handsome Monkey King was lost
and wanted to find enlightenment. He lived in a perfectly harmonious world of immortality, but found
that something was missing. He felt as if he had no purpose, so he left his ideal life to go find his
meaning. On his journey, he came across several disputes and found that he was not as clever as he
thought to be. The Monkey King came across several dicipals and battled his way to find the meaning
of true enlightenment. When he finally found his way to enlightenment, he felt as if he achieved his
purpose but never returned home. The Monkey King continued to travel around the world with his
friend and continued adventuring off to different islands and facing different problems; that was his

Symphony No. 9 Summary
The concert I watched online was Symphony No. 9 From the New World composed by the great
Antonin Dvorak. This performance was done by the New York Philharmonic and launched the New
York Philharmonic s 175th anniversary season. This concert was performed by an orchestra and was
definitely a performance I enjoyed to watch and listen to.
In the beginning of the performance, the orchestra begins with an adagio tempo, using instruments
such as cellos and violins. The tempo is very slow and soothing until it suddenly interrupted by the
sound of trumpets. This is setting a tone that something very dramatic is about to happen. After the
trumpets sound, oboes and flutes begin to play using the same adagio tempo as it was used in the
beginning of the performance. As the flutes and clarinets slowly stop, you can see the conductor, Alan
Gilbert, slowly move his arms apart to instruct the orchestra to get prepared. Gilbert then swings his
arms up and the orchestra switches to an allegro tempo by using crescendo. Violins, cellos, drums,
French horns, tenor trombones and bass trombones are now used to create a suspenseful tone as if
something tragic has just happened. It then changes back to the adagio tempo using instruments with
low pitch and then transfers back to the oboes, flutes and violins. The first ten minutes of the
performance is a wide variation between adagio and allegro and molto allegro and basically switches
tempos between the three which is why I really enjoyed

Erikson was a theorist who focused on his theory for psychosocial development. The article
Psychosocial Identity Development Theories, highlights the keys points and idea of Erikson s
psychosocial theory. Erikson was very focused on the idea of ego identity and obtaining full potential.
His theory or model stats that, identity formation is based on overcoming conflicts that individuals
encounter during adolescent and early childhood. (Karkouti, 2014, p.257) He believed that all people
must endure certain conflicts in their lives, and then overcome them in order to obtain their ego
identity. The idea of psychosocial development is focused on social conflicts, and environmental
factors. In the psychosocial model that Erikson created, it places people into eight stages. In order for
someone to move on to the next stage, they must first overcome the conflict presented to them in the
stage that they are in. A well established identity will get stronger the more that conflict is successfully
resolved. The eight stages are basic trust versus mistrust, autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative
verses guilt, industry versus inferiority, identity versus identity diffusion, intimacy versus isolation,
generativity versus stagnation, and ego integrity versus despair. In this article, it not only focuses on
