Change Blindness And The Field Of Human Sensation And...
Change blindness is a phenomenon in attention where drastic changes to a scene can go unnoticed.
This is important to the field of Human Sensation and Perception because it helps illustrate how a
visual scene is processed. Specifically it shows how even if there is direct attention to a scene, there
are times when drastic changes can occur without perception of the change occurring. With extensive
research already conducted illustrating this effect, new research has recently been conducted studying
different types of scene changes in the hopes of understanding which changes are easier or harder to
notice. The results of these studies were quantified by the measurement of change detection time
(usually reported in seconds). This subset of change blindness research has far reaching practical
applications, especially in the field of security and law enforcement. By applying the knowledge of
which type of stimuli lead to longer change detection times training programs could be developed that
allow this population to improve their observation skills.
Literature Review
A study conducted by Gusev, Mikhaylova, and Utochkin used the flicker paradigm as described by
Rensink et. al (1997) to observe the effect of different stimuli on change blindness. The different
stimuli studied were number of objects, object organization, object shape, appearance/disappearance
of an object, object shift, color change of an object, and increasing the interstimulus interval (blank

Roanoke Colony
The Roanoke island is located off the coast of present day North Carolina. There are many questions
about where the people went and what happened to them. One of the main clues as to what happened
was the word CROATOAN carved into the trunk of a tree. Some people think that the colonists
travelled inland, tried to join an Indian tribe or they traveled to an island called Croatoan. The island
was found by Sir Walter Raleigh who was sent by Queen Elizabeth. When the crew came back with
the good news, they began gathering groups of people willing to settle in the new island called
Roanoke. Researchers are always finding more details about where the colonists could have gone,
what the word croatoan means and why the colonists left. In this ... Show more content on

Then we would look at surrounding area or colonies. But, if we were in a person from the lost colony
shoes and John White still had not returned then we would go join a native american tribe. We would
join a tribe because without resources/ things we need to live then how are we going to survive. Also,
the Native Americans would give us food, clothing, resources, hospitality and protection. By doing
this, we would have a more likelihood of surviving until John White got back rather than dying
because we would have had to wait for John White. If we were the people who were on charge of
putting the word croatoan on a tree we would describe more than what they did. Say we were going to
Croatoan Island then we would put on the tree Croatoan Island, if we joined a Native American tribe
we would put Joined Native Tribe. So, we basically would carve on the tree where we went, so John

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Truly there would be reason to go mad were it not for music. (― Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky) Pyotr
Ilyich Tchaikovsky used music as an escape, crafting wondrous melodies to entice the heart and mind
out of its worldly miseries and into the land where musical delight reigned supreme. His life lay
troubled, and music became his refuge. As a result, he spent copious time dedicated to developing his
musical talent and composed the worlds of fantastic delights in which, as he states, he truly lived. His
wildly prolific music graced the ears and eyes of many, drawn into his finely crafted masterpieces of
Russia lore. To further understand Tchaikovsky s influence, we will examine his personal life, his
career, and his family life. Composer Pyotr ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Petersburg Conservatory, as one of their first composition students. Upon graduation, he moved to
Moscow, where he became a professor of harmony at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1875, acclaim
came readily for Tchaikovsky as he embarked on a tour of Europe. During this time he published his
most famous ballets, including Swan Lake and the fantasy Francesca da Rimini. Tchaikovsky
displayed an unusually wide stylistic and emotional range, from salon works of innocuous charm to
symphonies and operas of tremendous depth, power and grandeur. As a Romantic composer, he
emulated the emotionality of the period, drawing out long, heart felt performances from the folk and
native stories and legends of his homeland. Pyotr Tchaikovsky s first publicly performed work
Characteristic Dances was conducted by Johann Strauss the Younger in 1865, at a Pavlovsk concert. In
total Tchaikovsky published 169 pieces of music, including operas, symphonies, ballets, cantatas,
concertos, and fantasias. March 1884, Tchaikovsky received an official statement from the current
Tsar, highlighting his work as a Russian composer and pushing to him the title of the Father of
Russian Romanticism . His works influenced several famous Russian composers, including
Stravinsky, and Rachmaninov, and composers of other nationalities as well, such as, Richard Strauss,
George Mahler, and Jean Sibelius. His ballets and operas are still performed around the world and his

Week 2: Toilet Behavior
The toilet behaviors of the countries of Japan and Russia will be summarized and compared in this
paper to examine if the bathroom behaviors f these two countries are similar or whether they vastly
differ. In Japan, some of the customary bathroom etiquette includes:
Sitting down on the toilet instead of squatting. This prevents fecal matter from being dropped and left
on the toilet seat.
Flushing the toilet paper that was used to clean yourself down the toilet. In some countries in Asia and
Central and South America, the used toilet paper is placed in the trash bin creating a very foul odor.
Before entering the bathroom, put on bathroom slippers to wear while using the bathroom.

Terrestrial Planets Essay
1. What are the terrestrial planets?
The terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. These planets are composed primarily of
silicate rocks with structures consisting of a central metallic core, mostly iron, with a surrounding
silicate mantle.
2. How were Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune formed?
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune were formed by different types of rock and frozen materials
(water, ammonia, and methane). These materials were once planetesmals, which formed from the
rocky, metallic solid materials that were able to survive the collapse of the solar nebula which formed
our solar system.
3. What role do impact craters play on Venus? Which planet is Earth most like? In what ways is this
planet like Earth?
Venus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, Mercury was once volcanically active, but no longer is. Eighty five percent of Venus
surface is made up of low lying volcanic plains. As we know, Earth has volcanoes. Mars has two large
volcanic systems, with the largest, the Tharsis region, stretching across 8,000 kilometers of the planet.
Volcanoes exist due to the buildup of pressure in the outer core. This forces the molten core up to the
surface of a planet, in the form of lava.
4. What are the characteristics of the inner planets? How do these vary from the outer planets?
Inner planets all contain a core, mantle, and crust. These planets are very dense and rocky. In
comparison to outer planets, inner planets are smaller, denser, and rockier.
5. What evidence is there to support that planets exist outside of our Solar System?
The discovery of other stars in early stages of formation support the fact that planets exist outside of
our solar system. These stars, surrounded by disks of gas and dust, are called proplyds. According to
astronomers, these disks are like that which the solar nebula was believed to be like, providing a good
source of evidence of other planets. Extrasolar planets, or planets outside of our solar system, are
believed to have formed from the distortion of the proplyd

Underlying Cause Of World War 1 Essay
What was the Underlying Cause of World War One? World war one was one of the biggest and
bloodiest wars to ever happen in human history. Over 9 million people died. The war began on July
28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. The main cause of such a large scale war was alliances.
There were reasons such as militarism and the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. One underlying
cause of World War one was the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. This assassination sparked
World War one. On June 28, 1914 a member of a terrorist group named The Black Hand assassinated
him when his driver took a wrong turn in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Archduke Ferdinand was the heir to the
Austro Hungarian throne. His assassination outraged the country, which led them to declare war on
Serbia. Once war was declared on Serbia, Russia came to their side, which created an alliance.
Another underlying cause of World War one was militarism. During World War one many countries
were determined to use military force to solve political problems. Many countries were stockpiling
mass amounts of weapons in preparation for a large scale war. There was also a huge naval arms race

counter this uncomfortable situation, Bismarck created an alliance with Austria Hungary and Italy. By

How Did Thomas Jefferson Influence Neoclassical Architecture
Neoclassical architecture began in the mid eighteenth century by the neoclassical movement. It is a
style principally derived from the work of the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, the architecture of
classical age, and the Marcus Vitruvius Pollio principles. Neoclassical architecture was the answer to
simplifying the excesses of the Rocco style with its simpler symmetrical forms, intense use of
columns, and a fondness for blank walls. Neoclassicism could be found flourishing in every major city
in Europe and the United States. Within this movement, two people stand out for their architectural
prominence. Thomas Jefferson from the United States and Robert Adams from Europe.
Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 July 4, 1826) was the author of the Declaration of Independence,
Governor of the State of Virginia, Ambassador to France, and the third President of the United States
of America. With these accomplishments, he was also one of the best architects of the late 18th and
early 19th century. Although a well educated man, Jefferson was a self taught architect greatly
influenced by the Italian revivalist architect Andrea Palladio (1508 1580). Jefferson was introduced to
neoclassical architecture during his tenure as an Ambassador to France. His enthusiasm for

buildings as well as private residences such as the Virginia State Capital, the United States Capital
Building, and his own houses Monticello and Polar Forest

Macbeth s Obsession with Power
I ll fight till from my bones my flesh be hacked. (Act 5, Scene 3). Phrases as forceful as Macbeth s
quote are not common day language, in fact, it is used except in times of intense emotion. Although
the diction of Macbeth s words are from the Elizabethan Age, it s message rings true and clear.
Macbeth clearly will oppose anything standing in the way of his passion. Critics often debate over the
what tragic flaw of Macbeth lead to his downfall. Was it ambition or Lady Macbeth s influence?
Hardly so. It was an obsession of power that Macbeth desired so much that led to his compulsive
fixation and preoccupation of obtaining his desire by any and all means necessary. Thus, he inevitably

This is the beginning of his obsession for power. At this point he loses touch with reality and what life
is truly about. He cannot say, Lady Mac made me do it. It was she who forced me. (Didn t Adam
blame Eve and Eve blame the serpent. It didn t fool God, so Macbeth should not fool anyone).
Macbeth chooses by his own free will to pursue his obsession and let it control him, rather than
controlling it.
This preoccupation of mind of Macbeth is clearly seen as the play develops. We see that this obsession
to power is accomplished by Macbeth by any means necessary. Sacrifice any and all if necessary
would be a good portrayal of his state of mind. He kills to cover up his earlier murder victims. He has
let this fixation take him on a one way path, a path of no return. It is exactly the same as lying. The
problem with a lie is that one must lie to make the first lie believable. The more one lies, the more
they become convicted to not coming clean. This is exactly what happens to Macbeth. He kills to
cover up his first murder. The death of each day s life...Give me the daggers...This my hand will rather
the multitudinous seas incarnadine. (Act 2, Scene 2). He commits himself deeper into this passion of
gaining power and status. This inevitably leads up to his downfall.
As the play progresses, Macbeth loses his support and followers. Everybody has found out what he

When Britain declared war in 1917 and joined forces with the Allied powers, Canada followed suit
immediately. McCrae had seen first hand the deadly effects of war and had no illusions of what to
expect. McCrae was assigned to be surgeon to the 1st Field Artillery Brigade. He felt he was one of
the most qualified doctor soldiers in the country and felt his obligation to the country and to the
Empire. McCrae amp;#8217;s greatest test would come when his Canadian contingent were sent to the
Ypres Salient.
Up to this point the Canadians were not regarded as fighting soldiers and were thus given the
assignment of occupying this relatively quite sector of the front. The importance of Ypres would soon
be realized when on April 22, 1915 the German line used the first poisonous gas attack in war against
the Canadians and Algerians troops to gain access to the important roads that intersected in Ypres. The
Algerian troops fled leaving a gap of six kilometers along the trench system. Now the German side
had the ability to take control of the area. Somehow the gap was filled with the Canadians who even
managed to counterattack, a strategy that came as a complete surprise to the Germans. John McCrae
amp;#8217;s post was near a particularly dangerous section of the road. The Germans had it covered
with artillery fire for seventeen days of battle. McCrae would later

The Importance Of Drama Within The Classroom
At the start of the year, all of the smiling classmates bounced in their seat, awaiting the news of the
project to be announced. After the bell chimed throughout the hall, the buzzing sounds of laughter and
faint voices began to fade, patiently waiting to hear the criteria. As my drama teacher explained the
instructions for our final group presentation, all eyes stumbled upon me. One member of each group
had to write a script for a story they wanted to tell, and instantly my group chose me. The idea of it all
caused my heart to pound, and my eyes glanced around the dirty tiled floor nervously. The project was
quite simple; pick a topic, tell a story while combining elements of drama within. Then her voice filled

Each class the teacher spoke to our group about how excited she was to view our project, and every
couple of weeks she wanted to see our progress and how the script was coming along. Those questions
alone made me dread the performance even more. The words flowed out of me while writing the script
but each sentence I wrote, the idea of having to present them out loud haunted my thoughts. There was
a black rain cloud over my writing and I. One crucial element of the true impact of the story is that
ever since I was younger, I ve always had this intense stage fright. That moment when the spotlight
gets casted down on me, everyone s wandering eyes are intentionally watching my every move,
patiently waiting for me to possibly mess up. That s the crucial moment that has such an impact on my
nerves. That s when my palms become uncomfortably clammy and my breath transforms into an
uneven pattern. As I became older, I always thought I d eventually grow out of it. I always hoped I d
become comfortable in my own skin enough to express my thoughts out loud without difficulty and
without the pounding of my heart overwhelming me, but with age my nerves only increased. Writing
was something I held onto tightly, concealed deep near my heart, but now I had to associate it with my
worst fear: a judging audience. I felt a small ball of rage unleash within me because I felt like I was

The great recession of 2008 2010 resulted from a combination of easy credit conditions during the

It is important to note that this year has been projected from statistics used to study the relative decline
of America and fast growth of China. It by no means projects of the decline of the US in the long run.
The US even after this decline still holds a quarter of the world s GDP. It would be hard to imagine a
nation that relies on investment and international trade with the current economic leader by over
taking it. China may yet be at a stalemate until proven that it can hold and invest their yield to correct
their existing problems such as poverty, labour issues and push the Yuan value. If not then China will
join Japan back at second place as expansion without productivity are only temporary. (Dewar 2012)
This is not impossible task for China, it is most likely probable, but will take longer than the near
future.
In order to see where the US dollar is going we have to analyse the current market and study the past.
Since the fixed exchange rate system of Bretton Woods in 1971 there has been an explosive growth of
international central banks, most of investments of such are invested in US dollars. The expansion of
this particular reserve has opened trade imbalances in the past two decades from its constant use.

What were the socioeconomic changes in the 1980 s which contributed to the emerging popularity of
Human Resource Management? Does the concept of Human Resource Management present a radical
novelty or is it a mere repackaging of personnel management?
Introduction
During the 1980 s, a new management concept referred to as Human Resource Management (HRM)
became very fashionable. At that time, many academics questioned whether HMR was simply a
renaming of the previously known personnel management (PM) tool, or whether it was, as some
claimed, a radically different philosophy and approach to management of people at work (1). Firstly, it
seems appropriate to define HRM. However, the definition of HRM this has been widely debated, and

Toward the end of the 1980 s as more and more academics continued to produce a wealth of literature
on the subject of HRM, it became clear that there was a recurring theme for those companies that
appeared to perform extremely well in these market conditions. It became obvious in these
increasingly dynamic markets that companies that were proactive to market change were able to do so
as a result of motivated workforce. The question that was begging to be asked was how they were able
to this so well ? The answer was through involved management styles that were instilling a culture in
the workforce that was proactive rather than reactive. This is one of the key differences that will be
referred back to later. It was suggested that these had been brought on by the intense competition and
pressure, which meant a competent PM was more necessary than ever.
There were several other socioeconomic changes that all acted as antecedents to the development and
reshaping of PM that became known as HRM. These included increasingly strident demands of
shareholders, changing work force (flexibility, part time largely through the employment of women), a
changing age structure of the workforce, the young moving in the direction of private and service
sectors, hence less prone to unionisation and finally increasingly mechanised manufacturing processes
through new technologies.
Differences between HRM and PM

Stephen King Learning To Write Analysis
Comparing Different Approaches on How to Become a Better Writer
The importance of reading is well described by two highly educated and skilled authors. Reading to
Write by Stephen King and Learning to Read by Malcom X. King s piece looks to encourage hopeful
writers by expounding upon the importance of incessantly reading in order to become a better writer.
X s account goes into how he was able to teach himself to read which opened up unlimited knowledge
to him. He hopes to encourage others to read to defeat ignorance and prevent being controlled by
misinformation and hidden truths. Both authors do their job in relating their passion for reading and
absolutely inspire the reader to pick up a book. King does this far better by being much more relatable
by sharing personal experiences whereas X s description digresses into his own personal motives far
too often to be as effective. King s style is informal, familiar and yet direct as a means of impressing
his wisdom upon the reader. From the start he tells you exactly what you have to do, If ... Show more

Congress Must Reform Current Legislation Restrict...
Affirmative Case Congress must reform current legislation to restrict bioprospecting on federal land,
and regulate the amount of monetary gain that landholders can receive from bioprospecting companies
that use their resources. The National Park Service is a smaller government agency within the
Department of Agriculture. This is the agency that is in dire need of legislation to restrict
bioprospecting, and manage the profit margin that national parks can receive from allowing
bioprospecting companies to use their resources.
Observation I Harms/Significance/Motive The Department of Agriculture manages land owned by the
federal government. As a result, the Department of Agriculture would enforce laws regarding how the
federal government might profit from prospecting natural biological resources within the United
States. However, if Congress does not pass legislation to dictate when, where and how bioprospecting
can be profited from then individual agencies may characterize bioprospecting as scientific research.
It is moral and legally ethical to use bioprospecting profits for maintaining national parks. The
Biodiversity Treaty sanctioned that countries whose biological resources are exploited by
bioprospecting companies have a right to share the financial benefits resulting from the sale of these
resources (Adair, 1997). National parklands are owned by the federal government. Therefore, our
national parks have the legal right to share in the financial benefits that

Morality In The Lion King
The Lion King: Simba s Journey Towards Sanity and Morality
Walt Disney s The Lion King opens with a magnificent introduction to the forthcoming King of the
Pride Lands, providing the audience with an impression of the intriguing journey that is on the verge
of unfolding. As the story progresses, it becomes evident that Simba is in the midst of a quest. Such
evidence is portrayed in the film through his possession of heroic qualities, such as courage, love, and
perseverance. In addition, the process of undergoing trials, receiving aid, fighting enemies, and
succeeding at attaining the treasure sought, contributes towards sanity and morality within him (Myth
of a Quest: an Archetype). Therefore, in the film The Lion King, Simba s journey would be considered
a quest for sanity and morality since throughout the film the main character deals with a darker evil
side, comes to terms with some kind of personal integration and reaches a self understanding.
In the beginning of the narrative, a portrayal of various characters and their relationships with Simba
demonstrates their contribution towards Simba s ability to comprehend the existence of a darker, evil
side. First, the jealousy emanated by the antagonist, Scar, towards the position that Mufasa upholds in
the kingdom, provides an insight to the evil Simba faces. Consequently, as a young child, Simba
understands the difference between good and evil through the juxtaposition manifested in the
behaviour of both his father and

Photo Based And Installation Art
Isabel, tell us about your beginning in photography. I earned a BFA from the Pontificia Universidad

thinking I would do sculpture and came out working in photo based and installation art. Though I was
instructed in many disciplines from painting to computer based and everything in between, the nature
of my practice determined that photo based was the most appropriate medium to develop the concepts
and ideas I was interested in exploring back then. A year later, I attended grad school in Canada and
obtained an MFA from the University of Guelph. Currently, my practice encompasses the creation of

countless materials, and plenty of trial an error before I could successfully achieve the results I was

Mel Gibson s Soliloquy Comparison
To be, or not to be is one of the greatest soliloquy William Shakespeare has ever wrote; and there s
many ways it was rehearsed. I watched 3 versions of this soliloquy, Kenneth Branagh s version, Ethan
Hawke s version and, Mel Gibson s version. They were all very different from each other and unique
in their own ways. I believe that Mel Gibson s performance of To be, or not to be was the most
effective and I will explain why.
Starting with Kenneth Branagh s version, his version was simple and straight to the point. Branagh s
version was less self reflective and more like he is talking to his hidden audience (Claudius and
Polonius). There wasn t much emotion to his soliloquy and it sounded much rehearsed instead of laid

can symbolize death later on in the play. In his soliloquy, it was at a flat (eye level) angle with multiple
camera shots. First, it was a long shot to show the audience where Gibson was. Then, it was mostly

Milky Way Galaxy Research Paper
In our Milky Way galaxy, there are over a hundred billion stars, and within the universe there are
billions of galaxies (Classifying Stars). Astronomers have always come up with different techniques to
make their jobs easier. One important technique in, not only astronomy but science itself, is trying to
classify something into groups to find a certain pattern. Since there are so many stars in a single
galaxy, astronomers must find methods for organization. Stars are not all the same, they vary in size,
temperature, and brightness. To keep track of all these different characteristics, astronomers had to
come up with a diagram. The Hertzsprung Russell diagram is one of the most useful plots for stellar
astronomy (Classifying Stars). The diagram ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Touching Spirit Bear Change
Cole Matthews Journey of Change
What is a crime? An action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state
and is punishable by law. Cole Matthews is classified as a criminal. We see him commit numerous
crimes throughout Touching Spirit Bear, such as, breaking into a hardware store, trashing that same
hardware store, assaulting Peter Driscal, etc. Our intuition of Cole Matthews at the beginning of the
book is not very pleasant but, as we read on, we see how Cole Matthews does change into a more
responsible and calm individual. Cole Matthews is obviously responsible for this change but, there
were many other people that had a vast influence on him. By examining Garvey s guidance, Edwin s
wisdom and Mrs. Matthews ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Cole had first reached island, Edwin had given advice to Cole about how to live on the island,
Nobody s going to babysit you here. If you eat you ll live. If not, you ll die. This land can provide for
you or kill you. Winters are long. Cut plenty of wood or you ll freeze. Keep things dry, because wet
kills. This island is covered with Devil s Club. Don t grab it or hundreds of tiny thistles will infect
your hands and make them swell up like sausages. The stream over there is where you get fresh water,
(17). By giving this advice, it is clear that Edwin wants Cole to be safe on the island. Edwin had even
built a shelter for Cole on the island. Edwin had left Drake, his homeland, and came to Minneapolis
just to attend Cole s Circle Justice meetings, which shows his determination to help Cole. At a Circle
Justice meeting, after Cole had attempted to kill the Spirit bear, Edwin had proved how Cole had
changed through an effective demonstration that changed everyone s perspective on Cole and his
identity, People change two ways with slow persistence pressure, or with a single and sudden
traumatic experience. That s why people often change so much when they have a near death
experience. I believe something significant happened to Cole on the island, (128). By manifesting this
demonstration, it was clear that Edwin believed in Cole and he believed Cole had really changed.
Later, when Cole had been sent back to the island as a second chance, Edwin had provided Cole with
many techniques in which he would relieve his anger, such, dipping into the pond in the morning and
carrying the ancestor rock, Happiness, like anger, is also a habit. You learn to be happy one day at a
time. But habits change hard. This pond will help you, (146). Edwin had also explained to Cole how
he couldn t get rid of anger, which made Cole stop doubting himself, People send lifetimes breaking

Racial Diversity In High School
As a part of a minority race at my high school I have personally dealt with racial diversity growing up.
Being one of the few Asian students attending my high school I felt like I always had to be extra
conscious about what I said, did, and looked like. This being my first encounter with a lack of
diversity I was not afraid of the gap between men and women engineers because I knew I would not
let it get in the way of pursuing my goals. Going through school I became more and more interested in
the STEM field and eventually decided to major in bioengineering. When I first heard of
bioengineering I began to research it because it sound like a major made just for me. I saw numbers

Defining Professionalism
Academics believe that professional occupations are those that are full time occupations, have a
commitment to a calling, have formalized organization, are based on specialized education of
exceptional duration and difficulty, exhibit a service orientation, and are autonomous. Students feel
that a professional is anyone who acts in a professional way and has creditable knowledge of their
field. The two are vying for increased recognition in the elite group known as professionals. The
academic community wishes to restrict the values of professionalism s definition. Society wishes to let
itself into the professional community by broadening those values. Each side seeks its own best

Can a corporate CEO not be a professional? Can the honor also be denied to a computer programmer
making $100,000 salary?
The surveyed students of Clarkson University disagree with Moore. Their ideas of professionalism
were much more lenient, and included CEOs, programmers, and nearly all other skilled jobs. A
professional, by their definition, has to go through intense training and must receive a degree [that]
requires hard work and study and devotes [their] whole life. The students commonly listed doctors,
lawyers, scientists, and reporters, which may fit Moore s ideals, but they also listed business people,
engineers, bankers, and trades such as mechanics and construction workers. These occupations may
not fit Moore s criteria. To the students, a professional is anyone who acts in a professional way and
has creditable knowledge of their field.
The reason for the disagreement is a conflict in interests between the two communities. The academic
community is firmly seated in the professional world. They do not have to contend with being a
member of professionalism s gray area. It is in the best interest of the academics to limit the definition
of professionalism, thus making it more of an elite group. However, the students have adopted the
beliefs of their parents, who wish to broaden professionalism, to include themselves in the elite group.
This is not to say that the students wish to include all occupations as

Truth vs. Perception
The concept of truth versus perception can be observed in nearly all aspects of life. What is the truth

This is very convincing evidence, that it was the only blade of its particular craftsmanship, it was
identified as property of the boy by his friends and it was also the same blade used to kill his father.
This is the facts presented by the prosecution, the truth . This truth is wavered when the 8th juror
brings out a blade exactly the same as the one as the one the boy had. It is interesting as the
shopkeeper stated that it was rare and unusual yet, the 8th juror brought the same one from a pawn
shop near the boy s house. This contradiction therefore questions the credibility of the shopkeeper s
accounts and brings a shadow of a doubt to this case. The boy s friends did indeed identify it as the
death weapon but with the possibility of this switchblade being an abundant produce, it also presents
the possibility that another person stabbed and killed his father with the same kind of knife.
The next piece of evidence that is debated is the testimony of one of the key witnesses of the
prosecution. The old man living downstairs heard the boy yell, I ll kill you! followed by a thump on
the floor. He then witnessed a young man, supposedly the defendant, running away. The old man said
that after the thump, he ran straight to the door in fifteen seconds and saw the boy running as he
opened the door. During the proceedings of the trial, the old man was dragging his foot slowly across
the floor having recently suffered a stroke. The jurors observed

Internal Sources Of Finance Are Inside The Business
Internal sources of finance are inside the business and are made from the company itself by the

The Evil Of Revenge, And The Evil Of Revenge
The single most destructive force in this world is revenge. An immense amount of wars, murders,
division, and hatred is due to the evil that is revenge. There are many famous forms of literature that
discuss revenge. One is Of Revenge by Sir Francis Bacon. In this essay Bacon explains the evil of
revenge and why it shouldn t be taken. Also, down playing revenge, Robert Kennedy gave a speech
called A Eulogy for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Immediately following the death of Dr. King, Kennedy
pleads with the African American community and America to forgive this offense instead of taking
revenge for King s murder. The final piece of media that discusses revenge does it in a different
manor. Edgar Allen Poe writes about revenge in a short story called The Cask of Amontillado. The
plot of this story is that of a man named Montresor desperately seeks revenge upon a colleague and
eventually murders him by trapping him in catacombs deep underground. No matter what the
circumstances, revenge should never be taken because men become controlled and destroyed by
revenge, and revenge creates division among people. People are constantly being commanded by the
temptation of revenge and demolished by the aftermath of taking it. I forced the last stone into place; I
plastered it up. For more than a half century no one has disturbed them (Poe 8). In the story The Cask

Reality Is A Hard Trail
Reality is a hard trail that everyone in the world has to face. Reality comes with many aspects that are
constantly changing and that can be confusing or scary to many people. Coming to terms with reality
is difficult sometimes but, no one must shy from aspects of reality for that reason. If they were to shy
away and hide themselves from knowledge or experience then they will never be able to overcome
their conflictions with the issue. In order to grow, people have to properly come to understand and
face harsh realities. There are no safe spaces or trigger warnings in most places of the world. That s
the lesson that the incoming students of University of Chicago, whom may expect the inclusion of

located anywhere, where anyone can escape from things they find harmful, such as controversial
topics or different ideals. They are also able to fully express themselves, without having to worry
about being uncomfortable, unwelcome, or unsafe. A trigger warning is an essentially a warning that
the presented content through verbal or visual means, may be considered disturbing or upsetting to

order to protect themselves however the University has rejected the idea in a letter they sent, on the

Fluconazole is a white, hygroscopic, crystalline powder, and is an orally active bistriazole antifungal
agent.1 The discovery of fluconazole was a milestone in the pharmaceutical industry because it was
the first antifungal drug that could be used both orally for minor infections, and intravenously for
serious systemic infections. The development and use of antifungals continues to become more of a
necessity as the need for protecting immunosuppressed and HIV patients from developing fungal
infections increases.2

antifungals did start until the 1900s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These turning points led to the formation of several bis triazoles. The first was a chloroacetyl
derivative, which was reacted with 1,2,4 triazol to yield a ketone, which was then converted to an
epoxide and then opened, resulting in the first bis triazole derivative. The second approach required
converting dichloroacetone to dichloropropanol derivative and reacting it with 1,2,4 triazole, which
produced the second bis triazole. These bis triazoles were then synthesized in a large number of 2
substituted 1,3 bis triazolylpropan 2 ol derivatives. Out of the tested derivatives, it was found that the
2,4 difluorophenyl analogue was water soluble, meaning it was could be used intravenously; hence the
successful development of fluconazole.2

Urbanization also causes a respiratory health concern due to an increase in industrial activity. Water
and air pollution closely relate to the result of urbanization. It is noted that the majority of things that
are byproducts of human civilization cause pollution to water and air. The major causes of water
pollution in this area is toxic chemicals entering the waterways on a regular basis.
Ecology currently estimates that Puget Sound receives millions of pounds of toxic chemicals every
year from surface runoff, groundwater discharges, and municipal and wastewater outfall pipes. These
contaminates include oil and grease, PCBs, and phthalates as well as toxic heavy metals such as
copper, lead, and zinc. These toxins concentrate in urban bays and enter the food chain (Department of
Ecology (n.d.)).
This plays a major factor in health risk for individuals of the community. When chemical pollutants
enter waterways, and contaminate fish, the human consumption could be tragic. Health conditions that
may arise from toxic waste in water may include organ failure or possible death. Closely related to the
urbanization of Washington is air pollution. With the industrial growth of the community, harmful
emission plague the environment from sulfur dioxide emission to the common vehicle emissions. Air
pollutants pose a serious respiratory health issue that can cause aggravated cardiovascular and
respiratory illness. Major causes of the

It is said that there is nothing harder to fight than a belief, especially when it is related to politics or
culture. American History X, a movie produced by Turman Morrissey Company and distributed by
New Line Cinema (Kaye, 1998), touches this topic in a sensitive way when Derek becomes a Neo
Nazi after a black male kills his father. Later, he would realize how his strong belief could be changed,

At the beginning of the film a high schooler named Derek is shown as the leader of a Neo Nazi club.

cause pain and problems to the community.

Compare And Contrast Amazon Pricing Strategy
Due to multiple external and internal factors, pricing strategy has become one of the main focuses for
a ranging scale of businesses. For some small companies, cost leadership from low quality materials
and less overheads allow low prices, resulting in competitiveness and survival of their business, in
comparison to larger businesses who are able to charge more as they may have better quality products
and large finances to allow above the line promotion. Furthermore, their approaches to the market
place will differ; businesses who aim to charge less, will market their products at people who can
demographically afford the products and understand their goods/service are price and income elastic.
In a dissimilar fashion, organisations who look to charge higher, approach marketplaces with strong
brands for their loyal customers with the belief the high prices are acceptable. Regarding Jeff Bezos
quote, the statement ended with we will be the second . The Amazon billionaire acknowledges the
importance of meeting pricing strategy for consumer needs and desires. Thus, with a clear focus of
keeping prices low, Amazon select suitable operations such as being an e tailer and marketing
techniques to stay successful. This essay will critically analyse the comparisons between the different

Jason Film Techniques
Questions
So Jason will your idea of a remake be economically appropriate for the remake of this film?
Why do you believe that they need to show more themes and mateship throughout the film?
Thanks Jason!
In 1981, Peter weir directed a now iconic film on the mateship, tragedies and the affects that war had
on people. In particular he focussed on Australians fighting at Gallipoli. Through his cinematography,
characterisation and symbolism, he demonstrated Australians as a bunch of comrades going on an
adventure through life and he portrays this perfectly through the two main characters, Archie and
Frank. It would be arrogant of us to change this movie in anyway as Weir s film was a tribute to the
soldiers and having a remake just to make money would be selfish and offensive to the men and
women who fought in the war.
Reason 1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film follows 16 year old Archie and 20 year old Frank as they become best mates as they travel
from rural Western Australia to join the army. The cinematography in these moments is just a, one in a
generation kind of thing. In particular, the scene where the camera is zoomed out on the arid
Australian desert, showing Frank and Archie gradually closing the gap between each other. This
symbolises their mateship along the journey as they became closer friends. They also focussed a lot on
the lead up to the war to showcase Australia s beautiful scenery and to really create a background for
the characters. Through weir s characterisation, we constantly learn more and more about the main
characters as they become good mates and through his stellar cinematography and symbolism, viewers
really feel a connection to the ANZAC legend and the theme of mateship that is intertwined
throughout the

Theme Of Nostalgia In No Country For Old Men
No Country for Old Men is a novel that revolves heavily around the theme of nihilism and nostalgia.
Main characters, Sheriff Bell and Anton Chigurh represent this immensely throughout the novel.
Nihilism is a philosophy that emphasizes on the idea that all values are baseless and life is
meaningless. Nostalgia is a sentimental yearning affection for the past. In the novel, Anton Chigurh
represents nihilism and Sheriff Bell represents nostalgia. As conveyed in the title, there is no longer a
place for old men and old values in the new world. Sheriff Bell has fallen into a trap of nostalgia and
idealizing the past while rejecting the present. Anton Chigurh, on the other hand, is an active nihilist in
the new world.
Throughout the novel, Sheriff Bell, the protagonist, continually considers the contrast between old
ways and the new ways. He holds to a nostalgic view of the past, reminiscing about a time where
order and just ruled. He talks about a time where police officers didn t need to carry guns and knew
the people of their communities and kids were safe at school and on track to become good citizens.
The senseless violence he encounters, however, leads him to believe that the country is heading
toward havoc. He says that he thought [he d] never seen a person like that and it got [him] to wonderin
if maybe [the boy] was some new kind (McCarthy 2) and that the new kind has another view of the
world out there and other eyes to see it and that s where this is goin (McCarthy 2).
Anton Chigurh, the antagonist of the novel, is the embodiment of this new kind . He is perceived as a
personification of evil. Chigurh lacks any trace of empathy and operates solely to fulfill his personal
aspirations. Throughout the novel, he has shown disregard for law and the value of human life. He
embodies this through many things, including with the use of one of his weapons to kill people, a bolt
gun, a tool used to slaughter cattle. He used this weapon to kill a man and steal his car. He used the
weapon to avoid the law, being that he would not be traced caught by the cops because he is leaving
nothing behind. Chigurh other weapon of choice he arms himself with is a Remington semi auto
shotgun, which he used to kill

Essay on Native American Ritual Dancing
Native American Ritual Dancing
It has often been said that the North American Indians dance out their religions (Vecsey 51). There
were two very important dances for the Sioux tribe, the Sun Dance and the Ghost Dance. Both dances
show the nature of Native American spirituality. The Ghost Dance and the Sun Dance were two very
different dances, however both promote a sense of community.
The Sun Dance was the most spectacular and important religious ceremony of the Plains Indians of
19th century North America (Lawrence 1). The Sun Dance became a time of renewal and thanksgiving
for Native Americans. Everyone had a role to play either in the preparation leading up to the dance, or
within the dance itself. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the conversation the Sioux woman has with the tree she explains why they are killing it, and what
their plans for the tree are. After the tree is cut down, it is not allowed to touch the ground. McGaa
states that the men can only set the tree down four times to rest on the way back to the reservation
(86).
There is an arena set up where the dancing and other activities will take place. Once the cottonwood is
brought back, the men place it in the center of this arena. Some fifty men then join the group and raise
the tree with rope. Four songs are sung four times to the each of the four winds. Cloth banners
representing the four directions are tied to the branches, and then two hides are tied above the cloth
(one in the shape of a human and the other of a buffalo).
The cutouts represent thankfulness. Twelve chokecherry branches are tied crosswise beneath the
buffalo and the human images. The branches symbolize the twelve moons, the twelve months of the
year (McGaa 86).
The same evening the dancers who will be pierced in the ceremony participate in a Sweat Lodge
ceremony.
On the first actual ceremonial day of the Sun Dance another Sweat Lodge is held for those men and
women who are going to participate in the dancing. A Sweat Lodge is believed to help heal a person
spiritually. Groups that participate in Sweat Lodges are supposed to gain empowerment.
The dancers then dress and prepare him or her self in the tipi. There is a traditional dress

  • 2. Change Blindness And The Field Of Human Sensation And... Change blindness is a phenomenon in attention where drastic changes to a scene can go unnoticed. This is important to the field of Human Sensation and Perception because it helps illustrate how a visual scene is processed. Specifically it shows how even if there is direct attention to a scene, there are times when drastic changes can occur without perception of the change occurring. With extensive research already conducted illustrating this effect, new research has recently been conducted studying different types of scene changes in the hopes of understanding which changes are easier or harder to notice. The results of these studies were quantified by the measurement of change detection time (usually reported in seconds). This subset of change blindness research has far reaching practical applications, especially in the field of security and law enforcement. By applying the knowledge of which type of stimuli lead to longer change detection times training programs could be developed that allow this population to improve their observation skills. Literature Review A study conducted by Gusev, Mikhaylova, and Utochkin used the flicker paradigm as described by Rensink et. al (1997) to observe the effect of different stimuli on change blindness. The different stimuli studied were number of objects, object organization, object shape, appearance/disappearance of an object, object shift, color change of an object, and increasing the interstimulus interval (blank screen ... One of the main clues as to what happened was the word CROATOAN carved into the trunk of a tree. Some people think that the colonists travelled inland, tried to join an Indian tribe or they traveled to an island called Croatoan. The island was found by Sir Walter Raleigh who was sent by Queen Elizabeth. When the crew came back with the good news, they began gathering groups of people willing to settle in the new island called Roanoke. Then we would look at surrounding area or colonies. But, if we were in a person from the lost colony shoes and John White still had not returned then we would go join a native american tribe. We would join a tribe because without resources/ things we need to live then how are we going to survive. Also, the Native Americans would give us food, clothing, resources, hospitality and protection. By doing this, we would have a more likelihood of surviving until John White got back rather than dying because we would have had to wait for John White. If we were the people who were on charge of putting the word croatoan on a tree we would describe more than what they did. (― Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky) Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky used music as an escape, crafting wondrous melodies to entice the heart and mind out of its worldly miseries and into the land where musical delight reigned supreme. His life lay troubled, and music became his refuge. As a result, he spent copious time dedicated to developing his musical talent and composed the worlds of fantastic delights in which, as he states, he truly lived. His wildly prolific music graced the ears and eyes of many, drawn into his finely crafted masterpieces of Russia lore. Petersburg Conservatory, as one of their first composition students. Upon graduation, he moved to Moscow, where he became a professor of harmony at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1875, acclaim came readily for Tchaikovsky as he embarked on a tour of Europe. During this time he published his most famous ballets, including Swan Lake and the fantasy Francesca da Rimini. Tchaikovsky displayed an unusually wide stylistic and emotional range, from salon works of innocuous charm to symphonies and operas of tremendous depth, power and grandeur. As a Romantic composer, he emulated the emotionality of the period, drawing out long, heart felt performances from the folk and native stories and legends of his homeland. Pyotr Tchaikovsky s first publicly performed work Characteristic Dances was conducted by Johann Strauss the Younger in 1865, at a Pavlovsk concert. In total Tchaikovsky published 169 pieces of music, including operas, symphonies, ballets, cantatas, concertos, and fantasias. March 1884, Tchaikovsky received an official statement from the current Tsar, highlighting his work as a Russian composer and pushing to him the title of the Father of Russian Romanticism . His works influenced several famous Russian composers, including Stravinsky, and Rachmaninov, and composers of other nationalities as well, such as, Richard Strauss, George Mahler, and Jean Sibelius. These planets are composed primarily of silicate rocks with structures consisting of a central metallic core, mostly iron, with a surrounding silicate mantle. 2. How were Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune formed? Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune were formed by different types of rock and frozen materials (water, ammonia, and methane). These materials were once planetesmals, which formed from the rocky, metallic solid materials that were able to survive the collapse of the solar nebula which formed our solar system. 3. Specifically, Mercury was once volcanically active, but no longer is. Eighty five percent of Venus surface is made up of low lying volcanic plains. As we know, Earth has volcanoes. Mars has two large volcanic systems, with the largest, the Tharsis region, stretching across 8,000 kilometers of the planet. Volcanoes exist due to the buildup of pressure in the outer core. This forces the molten core up to the surface of a planet, in the form of lava. 4. What are the characteristics of the inner planets? How do these vary from the outer planets? Inner planets all contain a core, mantle, and crust. These planets are very dense and rocky. In comparison to outer planets, inner planets are smaller, denser, and rockier. 5. What evidence is there to support that planets exist outside of our Solar System? The discovery of other stars in early stages of formation support the fact that planets exist outside of our solar system. These stars, surrounded by disks of gas and dust, are called proplyds. According to astronomers, these disks are like that which the solar nebula was believed to be like, providing a good source of evidence of other planets. There were reasons such as militarism and the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. One underlying cause of World War one was the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. This assassination sparked World War one. On June 28, 1914 a member of a terrorist group named The Black Hand assassinated him when his driver took a wrong turn in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Archduke Ferdinand was the heir to the Austro Hungarian throne. His assassination outraged the country, which led them to declare war on Serbia. Once war was declared on Serbia, Russia came to their side, which created an alliance. Another underlying cause of World War one was militarism. • 8. How Did Thomas Jefferson Influence Neoclassical Architecture Neoclassical architecture began in the mid eighteenth century by the neoclassical movement. It is a style principally derived from the work of the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, the architecture of classical age, and the Marcus Vitruvius Pollio principles. Neoclassical architecture was the answer to simplifying the excesses of the Rocco style with its simpler symmetrical forms, intense use of columns, and a fondness for blank walls. Neoclassicism could be found flourishing in every major city in Europe and the United States. Within this movement, two people stand out for their architectural prominence. Thomas Jefferson from the United States and Robert Adams from Europe. Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 July 4, 1826) was the author of the Declaration of Independence, Governor of the State of Virginia, Ambassador to France, and the third President of the United States of America. With these accomplishments, he was also one of the best architects of the late 18th and early 19th century. Phrases as forceful as Macbeth s quote are not common day language, in fact, it is used except in times of intense emotion. Although the diction of Macbeth s words are from the Elizabethan Age, it s message rings true and clear. Macbeth clearly will oppose anything standing in the way of his passion. Macbeth chooses by his own free will to pursue his obsession and let it control him, rather than controlling it. This preoccupation of mind of Macbeth is clearly seen as the play develops. We see that this obsession to power is accomplished by Macbeth by any means necessary. Sacrifice any and all if necessary would be a good portrayal of his state of mind. Does the concept of Human Resource Management present a radical novelty or is it a mere repackaging of personnel management? Introduction During the 1980 s, a new management concept referred to as Human Resource Management (HRM) became very fashionable. At that time, many academics questioned whether HMR was simply a renaming of the previously known personnel management (PM) tool, or whether it was, as some claimed, a radically different philosophy and approach to management of people at work (1). Toward the end of the 1980 s as more and more academics continued to produce a wealth of literature on the subject of HRM, it became clear that there was a recurring theme for those companies that appeared to perform extremely well in these market conditions. It became obvious in these increasingly dynamic markets that companies that were proactive to market change were able to do so as a result of motivated workforce. The question that was begging to be asked was how they were able to this so well ? The answer was through involved management styles that were instilling a culture in the workforce that was proactive rather than reactive. This is one of the key differences that will be referred back to later. It was suggested that these had been brought on by the intense competition and pressure, which meant a competent PM was more necessary than ever. There were several other socioeconomic changes that all acted as antecedents to the development and reshaping of PM that became known as HRM. These included increasingly strident demands of shareholders, changing work force (flexibility, part time largely through the employment of women), a changing age structure of the workforce, the young moving in the direction of private and service sectors, hence less prone to unionisation and finally increasingly mechanised manufacturing processes through new technologies. As a result, the Department of Agriculture would enforce laws regarding how the federal government might profit from prospecting natural biological resources within the United States. The Biodiversity Treaty sanctioned that countries whose biological resources are exploited by bioprospecting companies have a right to share the financial benefits resulting from the sale of these resources (Adair, 1997). As the story progresses, it becomes evident that Simba is in the midst of a quest. Such evidence is portrayed in the film through his possession of heroic qualities, such as courage, love, and perseverance. In addition, the process of undergoing trials, receiving aid, fighting enemies, and succeeding at attaining the treasure sought, contributes towards sanity and morality within him (Myth of a Quest: an Archetype). Therefore, in the film The Lion King, Simba s journey would be considered a quest for sanity and morality since throughout the film the main character deals with a darker evil side, comes to terms with some kind of personal integration and reaches a self understanding. In the beginning of the narrative, a portrayal of various characters and their relationships with Simba demonstrates their contribution towards Simba s ability to comprehend the existence of a darker, evil side. What is the truth these days; in newspaper articles, current affair shows or stories that a friend is telling you, is it truth or is it a version of the truth? The complexities inherent in this concept of truth versus perception will be discussed in relation to two texts; Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, and, After the First Death by Robert Cormier. What is the key difference between truth and perception , and which is more important? The truth is the reality of the fact while perception is the truth relative to oneself. This is very convincing evidence, that it was the only blade of its particular craftsmanship, it was identified as property of the boy by his friends and it was also the same blade used to kill his father. This is the facts presented by the prosecution, the truth . This truth is wavered when the 8th juror brings out a blade exactly the same as the one as the one the boy had. It is interesting as the shopkeeper stated that it was rare and unusual yet, the 8th juror brought the same one from a pawn shop near the boy s house. This contradiction therefore questions the credibility of the shopkeeper s accounts and brings a shadow of a doubt to this case. The boy s friends did indeed identify it as the death weapon but with the possibility of this switchblade being an abundant produce, it also presents the possibility that another person stabbed and killed his father with the same kind of knife. The next piece of evidence that is debated is the testimony of one of the key witnesses of the prosecution. The old man living downstairs heard the boy yell, I ll kill you! followed by a thump on the floor. He then witnessed a young man, supposedly the defendant, running away. The old man said that after the thump, he ran straight to the door in fifteen seconds and saw the boy running as he opened the door. During the proceedings of the trial, the old man was dragging his foot slowly across the floor having recently suffered a stroke. The jurors observed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is noted that the majority of things that are byproducts of human civilization cause pollution to water and air. Ecology currently estimates that Puget Sound receives millions of pounds of toxic chemicals every year from surface runoff, groundwater discharges, and municipal and wastewater outfall pipes. These contaminates include oil and grease, PCBs, and phthalates as well as toxic heavy metals such as copper, lead, and zinc. These toxins concentrate in urban bays and enter the food chain (Department of Ecology (n.d.)). This plays a major factor in health risk for individuals of the community. Nihilism is a philosophy that emphasizes on the idea that all values are baseless and life is meaningless. Nostalgia is a sentimental yearning affection for the past. In the novel, Anton Chigurh represents nihilism and Sheriff Bell represents nostalgia. As conveyed in the title, there is no longer a place for old men and old values in the new world. Sheriff Bell has fallen into a trap of nostalgia and idealizing the past while rejecting the present. Anton Chigurh, on the other hand, is an active nihilist in the new world. Throughout the novel, Sheriff Bell, the protagonist, continually considers the contrast between old ways and the new ways. He holds to a nostalgic view of the past, reminiscing about a time where order and just ruled. He talks about a time where police officers didn t need to carry guns and knew the people of their communities and kids were safe at school and on track to become good citizens. The senseless violence he encounters, however, leads him to believe that the country is heading toward havoc. He says that he thought [he d] never seen a person like that and it got [him] to wonderin if maybe [the boy] was some new kind (McCarthy 2) and that the new kind has another view of the world out there and other eyes to see it and that s where this is goin (McCarthy 2). There is an arena set up where the dancing and other activities will take place. Once the cottonwood is brought back, the men place it in the center of this arena. Some fifty men then join the group and raise the tree with rope. Four songs are sung four times to the each of the four winds. Cloth banners representing the four directions are tied to the branches, and then two hides are tied above the cloth (one in the shape of a human and the other of a buffalo). The cutouts represent thankfulness. Twelve chokecherry branches are tied crosswise beneath the buffalo and the human images.
